I want to talk about fusion and relationships within my system because it’s been on our mind all week.

Fusion does not come naturally to us. Instead we function like a huge network of friends, family, and associates. Our memories overlap and we fill in the blanks- however small. Even if parts only hold small parts of our memory, they are important parts of the system. We’ve learned to slowly flow more like an ocean than a rigid system.

But it’s not what I thought it was going to look like… When I first started learning about DID healing, remission, and just system dynamics in general I thought fusion was something that just…happened and that was the goal. But… I don’t think it is with us. We have multiple relationships within the system that have helped us become more solid. Stable. We feel better separate, yet fluid. It’s feels so much better to allow parts to develop and find identity and share themselves as part of our collective life than it does trying to fuse with each other. And that’s so interesting.

Robin: It's interesting looking back on this. In a way, this is still relevant to our healing journey right now. Even though we've had a bunch of fusions, we still don't naturally do this. It takes specific situations... We can't force a fusion even if we want it. It kinda just... happens. Something just clicks one day and we can fuse. Until then, it's just a bunch of us lol.

Having a really long-term hyperfixation that has since faded is terrifying yes but it's also so embarrassing. Hi I used to think about Scrimblo Splungus 25/7. Yeah, for 2 years straight.
