I imagine they met through MK. Particularly meeting through MK causing wreckage and falling through the roof of Suklha meeting her Client. In this case, Suklha isn't Wukong's lawyer and he has no idea who she is.

In a very cartoonish way, Wukong got attracted at first sight. Curious and threatened. The thought of another immortal chasing after MK, his prodigy just to talk about property damage? Thats hilarious! MK was just trying to save the city! This is injustice-!

Okay, maybe he can give her the benefit of the doubt. He hasn't been teaching MK properly. He'll admit, he's not the best teacher to have. He's probably lucky to have MK as his student who's so naive and patient. Naive enough for Wukong to ask who the lady that caught him during their sparring, get his ear talked out about an immortal Lawyer amongst celebrities known as the best of the best. I mean, what kind of monkey king doesn't have her as a lawyer? She's supposed to be the best! He should fire his current one. Yeah that makes sense, its definitely not because so he can get closer to Suklha. Nah, thats too egotistical! Hes a renowned sage! He should know better!

Yet even as he FINALLY joined those "VIP party" hosted by someone he doesn't care enough about, just so multiple well known artists and celebrities can gather and talk nonsense while drinking alcohol. His eyes kept looking around for a blue toned lady, usually his own Lawyer attend these events, something about finding relations and connections.

Eh, he lives in the mountains. His novel is worldwide, he doesn't need those stupid stuff.

He's lucky enough to see his namecard being put beside the person of interest, holding a glass of fine wine. Wearing a new and expensive black outfit, yet similar enough to her usual look.

"Oh? I was expecting your lawyer... is he not coming?"

Hearing her talk about him so fondly made his eyes twitch, blood red sclera affecting his vision. The room is closing in, he can sense everything in it. The chitter chatter, clinking of expensive glass, the pouring of alcohol, and the way Suklha's heavy earrings seemed to shine. Maybe firing the prick wasn't enough, maybe he should've done something more... adequate

All he can do is bite his bottom lip till blood draws out, all this time, such treasure was hiding under his nose. Spending time with his uptight and annoying Lawyer, who does nothing but berates him on not checking his emails and being "unprofessional". His ugly, old-schooled lawyer, got a chance to introduce himself to her?? How...foul

what i CAN do for you is recommend some very fantastic authors (in no particular order) who i look up to immensely 🫶 and rest assured they're far more skilled than i am so you'll def find a new fic to love in their masterlists!!

please be respectful when perusing their work and don't bother them with asks to write leon fic bc many of them have moved to other fandoms :) and mind their dnis!!

Kind words, but... If I were to overstep the boundaries of his friendship, I don't believe I could show my face here again. It would be far too humiliating. oh lots I'm sure but i don't keep good notes on things i don't finish. i recall ollying out of The Memory Police because I was trying to read it in February/March and it was simply a little too sad for me at the time. also bounced off Horizontal Vertigo because I did not get my brain in gear for nonfiction before the due date. will try again someday especially now my library has gone fine-free!

looking at my camera roll i think i have a handful of DNFs clustered in february because i bit off more than i could chew from people's end of year lists and the holds came due. i look forward to repeating this

Leon, of course, stops her with gentle fingers around her wrists, reluctantly breaking the suction of their mouths to whisper, “Whoa, whoa, hey. What’s the rush? Slow down, gorgeous. We’ve got all night. Lemme savor this.” He threads tender fingers through her hair, cupping her cheek, grinning like a drunk, enamored fool. “Wanna take my time with you. Show you this ‘old man’ can treat you right.”

She almost misses sight of her, quiet as every other time Yunaka has seen her. It's only out of the corner that she catches sight of a familiar purple that she remembers carefully running her fingers through a few moons earlier. Yunaka pauses on her path to where she's meant to be and turns, sharply, to go over to her instead.

"Not hurt too badly, are ya?" She's got half a mind to tease her about keeping her hair off the ground during battles, but she decides against it. She's not sure how much the wins and losses matter to Sophia, and she doesn't want to accidentally press down on a sore spot.

One of her many (stolen) juice boxes is pulled out from a pocket and held out to her, along with a smile. "Sorry, I don't have any better consolation prize to offer right now. I didn't need an exam like this to tell how amazing you are anyway."

...alright, no, she can't resist. Yunaka nods at Sophia's hair. "You want help with that again? Fighting's over, but we still gotta march back after they finish up, and it would suck if someone accidentally stepped on it or something."

This really must be Sophia's lucky day, because she gets not just one, but two (2) juice boxes just for participating. The first comes from the person she would expect, but the second comes from a different, but still familiar face.

Sophia shakes her head lightly. All of the remaining smouldering embers have been extinguished by this point and her body would heal the bruises on its own even if the volunteers at the medical tent hadn't swarmed her with healing staves at the ready. She would be sore for some time for sure, but that is only a sign that her body is mending itself.

Pain truly is relative, if she thinks about it. Compared to great mechanical beasts trying to crush her with rocks and their own bodies, taking the blunt end of a lance from a human man really isn't that bad after she's had a few minutes to sit and catch her breath.

"...Amazing...? ...Me...? No, um, it probably... wasn't as impressive... as you're imagining."

It had been a tome she'd been unfamiliar with, one that lacked the devastating raw power she'd come to expect from dark magic. It was a spell well-suited to a friendly battle, even if the aftereffects had been stronger than she'd expected.

Something to investigate more on her own time, then.

The topic of her hair comes up once more, leading Sophia to tilt her head. She'd never particularly minded the length of her hair, but it seems like recently people had become concerned with it. Or at least concerned enough to bring it up to her directly instead of just thinking it to themselves.

"The ribbon..." Sophia says softly, turning her back to give Yunaka better access to the waterfall of hair behind her. "I didn't... want it to get dirty."

Considering where it had come from, that might be a lost cause, but wouldn't it be nice to make it last as long as possible?
