子どものころ好きだった遊びをもう一度やってみる

意味のないことをあえてやってみる（空想、妄想、バカ話、体を動かす）

「かっこつけない時間」「評価されない時間」を意識的に持つ

信頼できる人に、素のままの気持ちを話してみる

子どもの柔らかさは、「未熟」なのではなく、「自由」「開かれた可能性」そのものです。 それを残したまま成長できるのが、本当の「成熟」なのだと思います。

必要であれば、ドゥルーズやヴィゴツキー、ラ・ボエシ、ヴィンケルマンなど、理論的背景から補強もできます。 また、逆に「大人になっても遊び心を保っている人」の具体例を集めることも可能です。

He knows that once your curse is broken you'll probably go back to your ordinary life. If your curse can't be broken you'll die. And if you, for some reason, continue to stay at Darkwick even after being cured, he'll be a fourth year next year--he's gonna go off to do field work. Eventually he'll work in the highest levels of the Institute and eventually he'll take his father's place as the president. With all of this, there's no way you'll be able to be together, no matter what. This is a short lived burst of happiness and attachment for him. It means a lot more to him than you realize.

743： 名無し：24/11/22(金) 02:09:18 ID:vN.cb.L1 「説明が上手い人」の説明を聞いた時はもう本当に衝撃だった。 法律系の資格試験を受けていて、教科書読んでもわからないし、YouTubeでもただ条例を読み上げてるだけ。 生まれて初めて読む法令はあまりに辛すぎた。 職場のAさんに相談したら、わたしその資格持ってる、一緒に勉強しましょって言ってくれた。 Aさんの説明はすごかった。

「法律の文章を、翻訳しながら読もう」と、中学生でもわかるレベルの語彙で教えてくれた。 そこで霧がパーッと晴れた。 そして、一つ一つ、なぜこの決まりができたのか、ストーリーを教えてくれた。 もう楽しくて沢山聞いた。

次に過去問をやった。基本的な問題は解けたけど、ちょっとした引っ掛け（「届出をしなければならない」を 「承認を受けなければならない」みたいな）に引っかかり、二割くらい間違えてしまった。

そこでは一つ一ついろんな判例をもとに解説してくれた。 おかげさまでなんと2問しか間違えなかった！！！会社からは褒められて、焼肉ご馳走してもらう予定になっている。 過去最高点だそう。

あとで聞いたらAさんは資格系の講師をしてたらしい。 なのであらゆる法令を読み込んでる上に初心者の苦しみを理解してくれて、 私に分かりやすく解説できるだけの土台ができてたんだそう。

Aさんの話し方、勉強方法、本当に学ぶことだらけの数ヶ月だった。

食パン：主食用パン

食パンの語源に関しては複数ありどれが正しいかわかりませんが、有力な説を2つ紹介します。1つは、「主食用パン」の略。パンが日本に入って来た当時はイースト菌などもなく、比較的小さな菓子パンだけが作られていました。それからパンが大きく膨らむようになり、米の代わりになり得るようになったため、「主食用」と名付けられました。もう1つは、消しパンではない「食べられるパン」の略。昔は美術のデッサンなどでパンを消しゴム代わりに使用していたためです。

ブログ：ウェブログ

ウェブサイトの一種で日記形式のもの。英単語でも”blog”がありますが、もともとは”Web”と記録を意味する”log”が合わさった言葉である”web log”の略です。

軍手：軍用手袋

元々軍隊用の手袋として使われていたためです。日露戦争の際に、寒冷地を戦場とする兵士に支給するために考案されたものです。その後、荷物運搬や土いじりなど日常生活で使われるようになりました。

演歌：演説歌

元々は自由民権運動の政治運動家(壮士)たちが演説の代わりに歌った壮士節が始まりとされます。1930年代にジャズやクラシックが大衆歌に組み込まれていき、歌詞も政治とは関係のない叙情詩的なものに変わっていきました。

教科書：教科用図書

チューハイ：焼酎ハイボール

焼酎とハイボールを組み合わせた「焼酎ハイボール」の略語。焼酎やウォッカなど無色で香りのない酒類をベースに、炭酸で割ったものを一般的に指しますが、炭酸ではなくウーロン茶で割ったウーロンハイもチューハイの一種です。

ジャガイモ：ジャガタライモ

ジャガイモはそもそも南米原産の食材であり、日本には16世紀末にインドネシアのジャカルタからオランダ人により伝えられました。そのため当時は「ジャガタライモ」と呼ばれていましたが、後に略されていきました。ちなみに日本では中国語由来の馬鈴薯とも呼ばれます。

割勘：割前勘定

友人との飲み会などでよくある割勘は「割前勘定」の略。割前とは分割してそれぞれに割り当てることを意味する言葉です。江戸時代後期の戯作者で浮世絵師として有名な山東京伝が発案されたと言われており、当時は「京伝勘定」と言われていたそうです。ちなみに世界的に見ると割勘の文化は少数派で、男性や年上が払うのが一般的のようです。

カラオケ：空オーケストラ

歌のないオーケストラの意味で、「空(から)オーケストラ」から「カラオケ」と略されました。カラオケは日本で1960年後半に誕生したとされ、その後世界に広がっていきました。そのため英語でも”karaoke”と書きます。ちなみに中国語では「卡拉OK」と突然アルファベットが出てくる不思議です。

バス：オムニバス

ラテン語で「すべての人のために」という意味の「オムニバス」が語源で、フランスの乗合馬車の発着所の雑貨屋の看板に書かれていたことに由来します。そこから多くの人が利用する乗合自動車をオムニバスと呼ぶようになり、その後略されました。

リストラ：リストラクチャリング

英語で「再建」を意味する”restructuring”から略されたものです。リストラと聞くと人員削減をイメージしますが、本来の意味は事業構造を再構築することです。その中の一環として、人員削減が起こります。

リモコン：リモートコントロール

英語で「遠隔操作」を意味する”remote control”から略されたものです。TVなどに向かってリモコンから赤外線をデジタル信号で送ることでチャンネルや音量などを操作することができます。

��フトクリーム：ソフト・サーブ・アイスクリーム

海外では「柔らかいクリーム？」となり伝わらない和製英語です。英語では” soft serve icecream”であり、ソフトクリームサーバーの製造などを行っている日世の創業者・田中穰治が日本でソフトクリームを広めるのにわかりやすくするために省略したとされています。

ペペロンチーノ：アーリオ・オーリオ・ペペロンチーノ

唐辛子をオリーブ油で炒めたパスタ料理。正式名称は「アーリオ・オーリオ・ペペロンチーノ」と言います。イタリア語で「アーリオ」は「ニンニク」、「オーリオ」は「オリーブオイル」、「ペペロンチーノ」は「唐辛子」を意味しています。

経済：経世済民

中国の晋朝について書かれた歴史書である『晋書』に書かれた「経世済民」を略した言葉です。現在の政治と同じような意味で昔から使われていました。明治以降、”economy”の訳語として頻繁に使われるようになったようです。

首相：首席宰相

首席はトップを意味し、宰相は辞書で調べると「古く中国で、天子を補佐して大政を総理する官。総理大臣。首相。」と載っています。首相の言葉の中に首相が含まれている二重表現のような言葉です。ただ「首相」は日本国憲法に記載された言葉ではなく、報道などで使われる内閣総理大臣の通称です。

切手：切符手形

お金を払って得た権利の証明となる紙片のことを古くから「切手」と呼んでいました。日本の近代郵便制度の創始者である前島密が、“郵便物に貼って支払済を表す印紙”に「切手」という言葉をそのまま当てたそうです。

出世：出世間

元々は仏教語で、仏陀が衆生を救うためにこの世に出現することを指す言葉で、「出＋世間」でした。そこから略され、日本では僧侶が高い位に上ることを意味するようになり、世間一般でも役職が上がることなどを指す言葉となりました。

断トツ：断然トップ

2位以下を大きく引き離すことを指す言葉ですが、元は「ずば抜けて」の意味を持つ「断然」と首位を表す英語の”top”が合わさった言葉の略。そのため「断トツの1位」という表現は二重表現になります。

押忍：おはようございます

朝の挨拶である「おはようございます」から「おっす」と短くなり、さらに「おす」へと略されました。そこから「自我を押さえて我慢する」という意味を込めて「押忍」という漢字が当てられました。

デマ：デマゴギー

大衆を扇動するための政治的な宣伝を意味するドイツ語の「デマゴギー」を略したものです。元の意味の通り、政治的な意味合いを持つ言葉でしたが、昭和になってから、単純に「嘘」や「根拠のない噂」の意味で使われるようになりました。

おなら：お鳴らし

屁を「鳴らす」の名詞である「鳴らし」に「お」をつけて婉曲に表現した言葉で、そこから一文字略されました。元々の言い方の方が上品な感じがあって良いですよね。というのも、一般庶民は昔から「屁」と言っていましたが、宮中に仕える女房たちは隠語として用いていたためです。

電車：電動客車

電動客車をより細かく表現すると、「電動機付き客車」または「電動機付き貨車」となります。電車は架線あるいは軌道から得る電気を動力源として走行しています。

電卓：電子式卓上計算機

計算機という本来役割を表す意味の言葉が略されています。1963年に世界初の電卓が登場し、1964年に現在のシャープから日本初の電卓が発売されました。当時の価格は53万5千円と車を買えるほどの値段でした。今では100均で売られているものもあるのに驚きですね。

ボールペン：ボールポイントペン

英語で”ball-point pen”と言い、これを略した言葉です。ボールという単語が使われている理由は、ボールペンの構造上、先端に小さな回転玉（ボール）があるためです。

インフラ：インフラストラクチャー

英語で「下部構造」や「基盤」を意味する”infrastructure”から略されたものです。電気・ガス・水道・電話・道路・線路・学校や病院などの公共施設など、私たちの生活に欠かせないものを指す言葉となっています。

シネコン：シネマコンプレックス

「コンプレックス”complex”」が「複合の」を表す英単語で、同一ビル内に複数のスクリーンを備えた複合型映画館のことを表します。国内の代表的なものとしては、TOHOシネマズ、イオンエンターテイメント、MOVIX、ユナイテッド・シネマなどがあります。

シャーペン：エバー・レディー・シャープペンシル

シャーペンが「シャープペンシル」の略ということを知っている方は多いと思いますが、実はこれも略語。1838年にアメリカで「エバーシャープ」という筆記具が登場し、その後1915年に現シャープの創設者である早川徳次氏が国内初となるものを考案し、「エバー・レディー・シャープペンシル」という商品名をつけヒットさせました。

ピアノ：クラヴィチェンバロ・コル・ピアノ・エ・フォルテ

イタリア語で「小さい音と大きい音を出せるチェンバロ」という意味です。いつの間にか「小さい音」を表すピアノだけに略され、楽器を表す名詞となりました。元のピアノの意味は今でも音の強弱を表す「メッゾピアノ」や「ピアニッシモ」と合わせて音楽記号として使われていますね。

2025/04/29 細い月の夜

夜勤明けの日

夜勤がなかなかハードだったので帰宅後洗濯機を回したまま眠ってしまった。

時間指定をした宅配便のピンポンで目が覚める14時半前、3時間程眠っただろうか。

今年はタイミング良く2ヶ所の藤を見に行ったそのテンションで藤の香りとうたわれたフレグランスを購入し、それが届いたのだ。

眠い目をこすりつつ荷物を受け取る。

箱を開けボトルを取り出して振ってみる、こんな香りだったのかな、そうかもしれないしそうでないのかもしれない。

香りなんていうものは、繰り返し繰り返し刷り込まれて記憶に残る、そんな風に思っている。

実際にその場で香った藤の匂いとは違っていても藤を見た時の気持ちのまま買ったということに意味がある。

なんてことを考えていたらふと洗濯物を干していなかったことを思い出した。こんな時間から、思ったがこの風の強さと空気の乾燥ならいけるだろう、とまだ日が当たっている場所を選んで干し再び布団に潜り込む。

スマホを眺めつつうとうとして17時。まだ外が明るいので夕方になっているような気がしない。それでも17時には違いない。のろのろと起き上がり、お風呂にでも行こうかなと考える。疲れている。四肢を伸ばしきって大きな湯船にゆっくり浸かりたい。

着替えてなんとなくの身支度を整え、ホテルの日帰り入浴を利用することにした。バイパスを走れば10分程で着く。以前も書いたが高いけれど利用者も少なく静かにのんびり風呂を満喫できるのが好きだ。

GWで宿泊客もそこそこいるのかな、と思いきや車も数台、お風呂にはすれ違いで出たり入ったりする人が１人２人いた程度。ほぼ貸切状態でゆっくりと風呂を堪能する。

外の炭酸風呂に入るとヤシの木が揺れており、風の音がすごい。細い窓から見える内海に夕陽が映ってとてもきれいだ。くり抜かれた窓の中に夕陽は見えないものの、お風呂側の大きな窓に映った太陽は真っ赤で今にも向こうの山並みに沈んでいくところだった。ぬるめの炭酸風呂は心地良くいつまででも入っていられる。

ゆらゆらと湯の中を漂う小さな泡を眺めながら、人と人の縁とか繋がりはおもしろいものだなと考える。家族が知らない自分をさらけ出してみたり、今まで誰にも話したことのないような思いや考えを伝えてみたり、それについて互いに真剣に、時にはふざけながら共に考えたり。

こんなにも日々ごちゃごちゃと話すことがよくもまああるよなとすら思う。それぞれに違うから良い。似ているところもなきにしもあらず。

娘たちには私のスマホの開き方を教えておこう。私が死んだら、私のスマホを開きLINEの中のこのグループ、この人たちには伝えて欲しいと、ことづけておこう。

湯船からあがり、冷水を口に含む。体を拭き、顔にはフェイスパック、全身には化粧水とボディクリームを丁寧に塗る。髪の毛を乾かしてヘアオイルをつける。鏡の向こうにはさっぱりしました！という顔をした自分がいた。

帰り支度をしてフロントにタオルを返し外に出る。ものすごく風が強い。外風呂から見たヤシの木が音を立てて揺れている。４月も終わりだというのにまだ夜は寒い。

帰り道、コンビニに寄った。

車を降りてふと空を見上げると赤子の爪を切った時の様なか細い月が、うっすらと本来の月の丸い形を携えてそこにいた。地球照がこんなにも見える日も珍しいように思った。

電線に囲まれたその中にいる月が、あまりにもきれいでしばし眺める。時間的に沈みかけているのかほんのりと橙色に染まった繊月は大きく見えた。そういえば昨日は新月だった。生まれたばかりのあの月は月齢1.3。まだ始まったばかりだ。

My dog,“HUG” celebrated 13th birthday.

In the case of a medium-sized dog, in terms of human age, that's about 80 years old. And if a dog's life is compared to the four seasons, it is almost time to enter the winter period.

However, there is no need to think of it pessimistically. Because, winter is the most comfortable season for Hug, who is resistant to cold👍����🐶💙

Also, with Nico coming to our pack, Hug seems to have found new purpose in her job as an “educator'', and was able to survive the difficult summer in a healthy manner. Ahhh, Hug! You are truly amazing💕 (And THANKS, Nico!!💕)

愛犬・ハグが13歳の誕生日を迎えました。

中型犬の場合、ニンゲンの年齢に換算すると80歳代に突入、犬生を四季に例えるならばそろそろ冬の時代に差しかかろうとする時分になりました。

しかしそれはまったく悲観するようなことではありません。なぜならハグは寒さに強くて（むしろ得意なくらいかもw）、巡る季節のなかで冬こそが実は最も快適にいきいきとすごすことができるからです👍🏻🐶💙

またニコが我が家にやってきたことで、いつもなら食欲が減退し、ぐったりしてしまう苦手な夏も、今年のハグは「教育係」としての仕事に新たな生き甲斐を見い出したためか、まだまだ老け込んではいられない！とばかりに実に健康的にやりすごしてくれ、そのまま身体も心もずっと良いコンディションを保っています。

Would you say Tharja is more abrasive in English than Japan? I don't see people talk about it but everytime I see Japanese tharja she just seems more chill? I dunno if it's cherry picked lines or something. Like she says she loves noire versus English where she adds that "don't make me say it again."

I know Rhajat in English is more abrasive but I'm wondering if the same was true of Tharja.

This question was a bit harder to answer than I thought it would be! How a character’s lines come off actually depends a lot on the person reading the support. What feels abrasive to one person, might not to another.

In short - Overall, Tharja is abrasive, and sometimes just downright cruel, in the Japanese version as well. That being said, there’s definitely examples of the localization playing it up as well, and those examples do have some impact on her overall character.

This post got very long as I found more and more things I wanted to point out in Tharja’s supports, so I broke it down into several parts! Consider it a general analysis of Tharja’s character at some points, just as much as it is an answer to the initial question from Anon.

Part 1: The Tharja / Noire support

Since it’s the one direct example Anon gave in their Ask, let’s talk about the Tharja / Noire A support first. First, I’ll translate the last chunk of it.

Tharja: Can't say. Not about her, at least. ...But I love you, if that helps.

Noire: Mother...

Tharja: Just don't expect to me to say it often! ...Or maybe ever again. And just because hexes are off the table doesn't mean I have nothing to teach you. There are more ways than hexing to skin a cat. ...Or other things. Heh. So pay attention, and try to follow along.

Noire: Oh yes, ma'am!

The localization changed what Tharja says after she tells Noire she loves her. Let’s see how each version measures up to the other! 

I actually think the Japanese might be even more abrasive than the localization.

This is partially because Anon remembered the localized line a bit incorrectly - Tharja doesn’t say “don’t make me say it again,” she says “don’t expect me to say it often … or ever again.” The connotation difference between “make” and “expect” is pretty big. Saying “I love you” rarely, or not at all, doesn’t make someone a worse parent necessarily, so long as a secure bond is made in other ways. Some people think less is more when it comes to expressing love. Sometimes people are not openly affectionate parents because that’s just not their local culture. Tharja’s tone in this context does still feel a bit harsh, but it’s not inherently a bad thing to not express love often. 

So what about the Japanese? Tharja describes her declaration of love as “tsumaranai.” I translated it to “absurd” in my translation above, but “tsumaranai” can have some other connotations depending on the context. I see it most commonly used to mean something is “boring.” It can also mean “useless” or “unimportant.” So it was tough to pick one word to use in my translation, but no matter which definition of “tsumaranai” we apply to Tharja’s line in this support, she is dismissing her expression of love as something not meaningful. I’ve got no alternate reading for that, like I did for her localized line.

So I think deciding which version comes off as more abrasive, really depends on how each person reacts to Tharja’s Japanese vs. localized line. 

Part 2: Lines that I think summarize Tharja’s personality the best, and how they differ in Japanese vs. localization

While I was reading all of Tharja’s supports in Japanese, I found a few snippets of dialogue that I thought described her personality very well in a nutshell. Did the localization translate these lines more directly, or change the meaning a bit too much in my opinion? Let’s find out!

This is from Tharja / Ricken A:

サーリャさんも誤解されがちだけど、(People just tend to misunderstand you, but,)

意外といい人だよね。▼ (you’re actually a surprisingly good person!)

体を張って呪術を教えてくれるし…▼ (And you put yourself at risk to teach me hexes…)

笑うとすごく綺麗だし…▼ (And when you smile, it’s really pretty…)

もっとサーリャさんのいいところを (More of your good side)

Localization:

Ricken: People are all wrong about you, Tharja. You're actually really nice! I mean, even though you seem creepy, you let me practice on you. Maybe you should show more of that side instead of the doom and gloom. I mean, your smile is pretty, you know? You should show it more.

Tharja: I like the way I am.

I think the exact meaning of the Japanese was lost from Tharja’s dialogue here, and it’s unfortunate in my opinion. In the Japanese, Tharja doesn’t respond to Ricken by saying she likes herself the way she is, but that she does simply as she wants/ pleases. I think this describes her very well in a nutshell. Sometimes she’s a cruel dark mage who has no qualms about hurting others if it means she can master a new hex, but other times she will go out of her way to help people. How can the same person act so differently from one situation to the next? Well, that’s an easy answer! She simply does whatever she wants, and the feelings of others are secondary to how she feels. Even when she’s helping someone else, her own feelings are her primary motivation. I think that nuance that I picked up on is totally lost in the localized line, and it’s unfortunate.

This line in the localization also portrays Tharja differently from the Japanese. The idea that Tharja is protecting her reputation as a dark mage was newly added. In Japanese, she only says that she wanted to repay Donnel’s favors.

From Tharja / Donnel A:

…勘違いをされては困るからよ。▼ (...It would be a nuisance if people got the wrong idea.)

Localization:

Tharja: People might get the wrong idea.

Donnel: Whatcha mean?

Tharja: They might think I did it for some kind of...common good... Or out of the goodness of my heart. *shudder* I only did it to thank you for the help you've given me. If people think I've gone soft, I'm finished as a dark mage...

While those two examples are different in localization vs. Japanese, this little line that gives insight into Tharja’s personality (and Henry’s) is pretty much the same in both Japanese and localization. 

From Tharja / Henry B:

Tharja: Interesting. That's the same reason I joined up.

Part 3: Examples of the Japanese and localized supports portraying Tharja the same

Here’s some examples where I think Tharja is equally abrasive in Japanese and localization.

S Support w/ Frederick: When she gets annoyed with Frederick, Tharja has no issue with telling him right off.

B Support with Kellam: In Japanese as well, Tharja threatens to curse Kellam for the mere act of accidentally sneaking up on her. And she also gets creeped out that he was worried about her family - which seems to me like a pretty normal thing for Kellam to do.

Though the wording is a bit different between Japanese and localization, the core of what Tharja does is not any different.

C Support with Libra: Tharja is about as blunt as can be in both versions when she tells Libra that she would not like to be bothered while preparing to cast her latest hex.

B Support with Lon’qu: Tharja is not suspicious of Lon’qu, because she is more curious about the possibility that a curse is causing his fear of women. She still can be pretty sassy with him though. While the localization and Japanese lines are a bit different, I think she’s pretty equally sassy with him in both accounts.

C Support with Gregor: Tharja’s directness in saying that she does not want to talk to Gregor at first, is equally blunt in both Japanese and localization.

C Support with Donnel: Tharja mostly treats Donnel the same in both versions, taking full advantage of his willingness to help her. 

The S support is very directly translated as well, with Tharja asking Donnel to become her lifelong servant in both Japanese and localization.

Part 4: Examples of the localization making Tharja more abrasive

Next, here’s some examples where I think the localization makes Tharja more abrasive.

C Support w/ Kellam: In Japanese, Tharja did not imply that she did not kill or turn into an animal the last person who snuck up on her. Nor is she sarcastic when Kellam offers to help mail her letter. In fact, she takes him up on the offer, if he doesn’t mind that it is going to Plegia.

B Support w/ Vaike: While their Japanese support chain is also about Tharja telling Vaike to leave her alone as she stalks Robin, the localization plays up how aggressive she is towards him. In the Japanese B Support, she threatens to curse him for spying on her, but she certainly does far less than consider killing him, like the localization implies.

Tharja: If I catch you spying on me again, I'll turn you into a toad.

A Support w/ Vaike: At the beginning of their A Support, Tharja is dismissive towards Vaike, but the insult to his intelligence by implying that he throws his food waste on the ground was added in localization.

食事の時間でしょう？▼ (It’s mealtime, isn’t it?)

Localization:

Tharja: Shouldn't you be off eating dinner with the others? I hear they're having lamb. You can throw the bones on the ground and everything.

C Support with Ricken: Tharja has very good reason for rejecting Ricken’s request to teach him dark magic, and she has to be aggressive about it, because he won’t take her first no for an answer. But the Japanese didn’t have her condescendingly tell him to go practice something else, so the localization is a bit more aggressive than the Japanese I think.

Ricken: I know! This is serious business! Super-deadly serious business! I'm trying to get as strong as possible so I can be a key part of Chrom's army. I'm studying fencing, wyvern riding, and even butter sculpting! ...You know. Just in case.

Tharja: Hexes and curses are a different animal. A wild, untamable beast. Now forget we had this conversation, and go practice your butter sculpture.

Part 5: How Tharja’s voice acting affects her portrayal

In addition to her dialogue itself, Tharja’s tone and voice type can also come off very differently in Japanese vs. localization. Her JP voice is soft, quiet, creepy, and trails off in an unsetting way (This is represented in text by her sentences nearly always ending in ‘…’ ). Her ENG voice is deeper, and unsettling in a dark villainess kind of way. I think both her voice types fit a dark mage like her perfectly, just in different ways. But without the soft and quiet aspects of her Japanese voice, her English voice type comes off much harsher.

I think that contributes a lot to how abrasive Tharja is in English vs. Japanese. Granted Awakening has limited voice acting, so the impact isn’t as big as in the fully voice-acted FE Warriors for example, but even the few words and sounds she does have in Awakening set Tharja’s tone a lot.

Part 6: Conclusion

And that’s all I have to say! 

As you can see, the localization did write Tharja to act more abrasive in select conversations. With her being abrasive in general, the overall change to her character is not very significant, but the change is definitely there.

私の両親は、いわゆる、「人権派」、活動家だった。 もっと正確に言うと、人権派と陰謀論者の中間、あるいは地域の名物おじさんみたいなものだった。 父��予備校塾の講師、母はデザイナーだった。 この家に育って何が起きたか。 物理的な虐待とか、経済的困窮とかそういうことは、当然ない。 それは認めるし、親としては感謝している。 だが、私はこの家に育って、世間とまったく感性が通じないというか、後天的なコミュ障のような人間になった。 少し前に、発達障害者の人たちが「健常者エミュレーター」という概念を紹介していたが、それを見た時、私は膝を打った。 また、統一協会やエホバの証人の二世問題について知った時、私はこれに近いんじゃないかと思った。 自分が世間から見て「おかしい」ことはわかっている。だが、私に植え付けられた何かが、「いや世間なんて」と茶々を入れ続ける。 私の両親は、あらゆる凶悪事件がまるで発生していないか、あるいはまるで被疑者が英雄みたいに私に話すのだった。 大きな例を挙げると、神戸の連続殺傷事件（酒鬼薔薇）について、両親は冤罪説、つまり少年Aは犯人ではないということをしきりに唱えていて、まだ小さかった私にも、「これは嘘なんだよ」「警察はしっかり調べていないんだよ」と吹き込んだ。 池田小の事件も、父親は死刑廃止について盛んに唱えていた。 私の父は予備校の会報か講師たちの同人誌か、そういう冊子に、そのことをずっと書いていた。そしてそれを小学生の私に読ませた。 食卓で悲惨なニュースを見ながら、「〇〇ちゃんは、人の心について考えられる人間になってね」と、両親は笑顔で私に話しかけるのだった。だが、「人の心について考えられる」というのは、イコール、死刑廃止活動やあらゆる有名な事件にまとわりつく陰謀論に近い冤罪説を信じろ、ということだった。 母は、左翼の地方議員の勝手連みたいなことをやっていて、時々家が集会場所となった。学校から帰ると、おばあさんとかおばさんが五人くらい集まっていて、きついコロンの香りを漂わせていた。 別に悪い人たちではない。本当なら、私よりもずっと世間に貢献している人なのだろう。お菓子やお土産とかもいっぱいもらった。だが、結局のところ、ある宗教の座談会の人権版が家で行われているのと変わらない。そしてこの集まりから何か発展的なことが生まれたようにも見えない。 こういう家に育って、私は中学生のころまで、いわゆる純粋培養で育った。親の言うことが全てという世界で。 極端に聞こえるかもしれないが、世間のあらゆる犯罪は、冤罪であるか、犯人の非ではない何かの理由があって発生した者であり、警察と政府は悪。端的にそう言う世界だった。 ネット上には、死刑廃止運動に絡めて、ある左翼の議員が、「殺されてしまった人よりは、生きている犯人の人権の方が大切なのだから」と発言した、という情報がある。実際はその議員はそんな発言をしていないらしいのだが。 しかし私の両親は実際、そういう価値観だったとしか思えない。 私が初めて、ちょっとした疑問を覚えたのは、小学校高学年の時だった。 それまで放課後開けていた小学校の校門や校庭を、これからは明確に管理しようという話が、小学校で出たらしい。 しかし、私の両親、特に母親が待ったをかけた。というより、その現場に居合わせた。 母親はその情報を知るや否や、私もつれて、なんと校長に面談を申し入れた。 私は校長室の革椅子に座って、横で母親が延々と「開かれた学校という理念はどうしているのか」「治安というのはつまり何を基準に申しているのか」と校長にまくし立てていたのを覚えている。 なぜ私がそこに連れていかれる必要があったのか、そして半分笑顔でねちねちと喋り続ける母の姿は、子供ながらに、不安だった。その時はそういう言葉を知らなかったが、今考えると、敬語を使うだけのモンスターペアレントではないか、と思う。 そして自分が世間と徐々に乖離していると気づいたのは、中学校に上がってからだった。 両親。家の食卓で両親がわざわざ解説してくれるニュース。両親が取ってる新聞。送られてくる雑誌。友達。漫画。それだけが全てだった私に、携帯電話が買い与えられた。 そして私は、「世間」がどういう理念で動いているかを知った。 両親は万能ではなかったし、全てではなかった。むしろ、ピエロの様な、少数者だった。 だが私はそれを知っても、どう処理すればよいかわからなかった。 「いい？憲法にはこう書いてある」と両親は時々言っていた。多分、世間一般の人々より、両親は「知的階級」だ。良いことを言っている。正しいことをしている。多分。恐らく。 だが、世間はそう動いていない。そう育てられた私に対しても。 大学生となり家を出て、私は飲み会に行った。 そこで、当時話題になっていた、ある凶悪犯罪を揶揄するネタを余興としてやる男性がいた。 私は、今考えると、自分でもわからないのだが、「そういうのはやめた方が良いよ。まだ犯人だって決まったわけじゃない」と真顔で伝えた。 場はしらけ、そして私は飲み会に呼ばれなくなった。 ＳＮＳなら、これはリベラル的な武勇伝となるのだろう。だが私は、はっきり言って、普通に、なりたかった。 人権は、そしてそれを擁���する存在は重要だろう。犯罪だとか治安だとかに対して、「疑う」ことは重要だろう。だが、それは、宗教と同じく、大人になってから自分で学ぶべきことだったのではないか。

2025 「そうさ、ここいらで"学園"って言や、あの城塞みたいな街のことだ……多数の魔術師を擁する大陸最高の教育学府、といえば聞こえはいいがね。そこにいる連中に座学の集中力を求めるってのは筋違いらしいぜ」 「異世界魔法学園ガイド」（著:北沢慶/グループSNE　出版:KADOKAWA）表紙イラスト＆キャラクターデザイン。 今回は魔法学園の一年を描く本になっています。 聞くだけでわくわくするシチュエーション！ 細部の小道具まで、描き込むほど「魔法」の気配が立ち上がってくるのが非常に楽しいお仕事でした。 これまでにも登場したエルフ魔法使いタラサは魔法学園のＯＢで、今回は大先輩として「きみ」をほんわか導いてくれます。

「米軍最強の海兵隊を全滅させた男」 を知っていますか？ 彼の名前は、 陸軍中将・中川州男（なかがわ くにお） 太平洋戦争において 最大の被害を米軍に与えたと言われる 「ペリリュー島の戦い」を指揮しました。 日本兵1万に対して、 上陸してくるアメリカ兵は4万8000という 圧倒的な兵力差。 この圧倒的に不利な状況で アメリカ軍を追い詰めた作戦とは、、、 ＝＝＝＝ ペリリュー島の戦いは アメリカ軍にとって、 隠したくなるほど不名誉で 甚大な被害を出した戦いだった、、、 1944年3月 ペリリュー島に派遣された中川州男 彼はこの時すでに、 絶対的な守備力不足を痛感していました。 「米軍と正面から ぶつかっても勝ち目はない…」 そう考えた中川は ある戦略を実行しました。 それは、、、 島内の中央部に「地下壕」を張り巡らせる というものでした。 ペリリュー島独自の特徴である 天然の洞窟や鉱石の採掘場 の存在に着目し、 大規模な地下陣地を 構築したのです。 日本兵たちは地下陣地を作り、 約5ヶ月という歳月をかけて 入念に準備をしました。 1944年9月、 完全に要塞化されたペリリュー島に 何も知らない米軍が上陸したのです。 まず中川は 米軍が上陸するであろうビーチに 砲撃を降らせました。 そして 米軍を島の内陸に追い込み、 日本兵の姿が見えなくなった と思わせたところで、 地下陣地で待機していた日本兵たちの 容赦ない攻撃が始まったのです。 兵器、兵士の数で 5〜6倍以上の差があったため アメリカ軍の計画では 島を4日で攻略する予定だったと言われています。 それにも関わらず、 最終的に2ヶ月半を要することとなり、 アメリカ軍の作戦計画を 大きく狂わせることとなったのです。 また中川は、 勝利だけにこだわったのではなく 島民への疎開指示を行いました。 そして 島が歪むほどの戦いと表現された ペリリュー島での戦いで 住民の犠牲者は1人も出さなかったのです。 このように中川州男は 圧倒的不利な状況の中でも 冷静に状況判断を行い、 一般市民や部下たち を守りながら 準備周到で アメリカ軍を迎え撃ちました。 そして「米軍最強」と言われた、 アメリカ海兵隊の第 1 海兵師団を 全滅へと導いたのです。 現在でも中川州男は アメリカで称賛されるほど有名ですが 日本では ほとんど知られていません、、、 このように 日本人には知られていない歴史が まだまだ存在します。 教科書では数ページで 終わってしまう近現代の歴史、、、 そこには 全く描かれていないような出来事の中にも 確かに日本人の歩みがあり 先人たちの葛藤や苦悩、 ドラマが詰まっています。 一人一人の軍人たちの生涯と 各局面での意思決定を追っていくと 今まで負けたことだけを クローズアップされていた 戦争の真実が 見えくるかもしれません、、、
