April 27th is the World Tapir Day,which is aims to raise awareness of the tapir’s endangered status and protect them.Tapir means "mixture" in Thai,and there is a legend that when God was creating animals, he pieced together the remaining materials and created the tapir.There's no denying that this animal has a strange appearance:a trunk similar to that of an elephant but shorter than that of an elephant,a body similar to that of a rhinoceros,four toes on its front paws but only three on its hind paws for some reason,a stomach like that of a horse and lungs like that of a cow.Also,the white part of the Malay tapir's body is said to be a trace left over from its time as Buddha's mount.

In addition to mammals of the Tapiridae family in the order Perissodactyla,the tapir(獏,Baku) is also a legendary creature that originated in China and later spread to Japan.Although there is no clear evidence that the Chinese legend was based on the animal tapir,bronze artifacts resembling real tapir have been found in ancient Chinese sites,so it is likely that the tapir became extinct in China and was passed down to later generations as the legendary of Baku.

After the legend of the tapir spread to Japan,they became guardians that could eat people's nightmares.At the end of the Muromachi period in Japan,images and words of the tapirs were used as lucky charms.When people placed pictures of treasure ships under their pillows to ensure a good dream on the first day of the new year,the popular custom was to write the word "貘" on the sails,so that the tapirs would eat any bad dreams that might befall them.During the Edo period,the amulets depicting tapirs became more popular.People drew tapir patterns or wrote the word "貘" on box pillows,placed a piece of paper with the word "貘" printed on it under their pillows,and even made tapir-shaped "tapir pillows".On the night of the 1st or 2nd of January,people would raise a sail with a circle bearing the word for "宝"(treasure) or "貘",and place a mini ship which used to carry treasures and the Seven Lucky Gods,along with the specific palindrome song written on it,under their pillow to pray for good dreams.Also,it's said that if people have a dream they don't want to have,they can avoid the bad dream by saying "I give my dream to tapir" three times.

The pillow "Bakutou no Tamamakura" which is shaped like the legendary tapir.It is said to be carved from Nandina wood and contains real tapir bones.It is currently stored in Chokoji Temple.

Yoneyama Mineo,a famous Japanese novelist known for the Onmyoji series,whose pen name(夢枕 獏,Yumemakura Baku) comes from tapir the legendary creature that is said to eat dreams,and also conveys the desire to write dream-like stories.

Drowzee,the pokemon based on the legendary creature Baku,and they are the first pokemon to learn the move "Dream Eater".However,they seem to prefer eating sweet dreams.

お父さん (目玉親父) が本番中ピアノの中に転がって行き、そんなに強く落ちたわけではないのに、

塩入さん曰く、その後一つの鍵盤の音がもの凄く狂ったと

新しいお月様のカリンバを演奏したのですが、

ゲネの時いつものように「ふ〜」と息を吹き込んだら、

信じられないくらいのfairy dust?が湧いてきて、

皆どよめく…いつも動画を回しているのに、

なぜかこの瞬間の映像だけがないという…

壷井さんが、「サラさん、本番中ヴァイオリンを弾いてる時、思いっきり咳をしませんでしたか？」と

Fairy dustで喉にちょっと違和感があったものの、

絶対に咳はしてない

では、モニターから聞こえた咳は誰がしたのか…
