There was something about the way Cole kept staring at the glass of whiskey in his hand that made him think he might actually find an answer at the bottom of it. Or maybe that was just wishful drinking, because the closer he got to draining the glass dry, the more lost he felt, and it frustrated him. Lifting the glass, he swirled the amber liquid around, like he was waiting for it to numb his raw edges, but it wasn’t– not really. All of his life, he’d found ways to compartmentalize everything he felt, to shove it down and keep moving, but after confronting the bomber and learning such damning truths, Cole just felt…stuck, like this was the one time he couldn’t push back against all the thoughts and feelings piling up inside his head. Over and over, he just kept seeing the faces of three good men who were dead when it should have been him. Feeling suffocated by it all, like there was nowhere for him to go to escape it, there was that urge to claw his way out of his own skin– little else was working, and the silence all around him had become absolutely deafening. Frustration mounting to a fever pitch, he clutched the glass in his hand and hurled it towards the wall, watching as it shattered into thousands of little fragments.  Unleashing a long, strained sigh, he buried his face in his hands for a moment, slowly breathing in and out, just begging for his mind to stop. Throughout each day, he did everything he could to soldier on, because the people around him couldn’t afford for him not to. But it was in these quiet hours that the way he’d been avoiding his own problems tended to sneak up on him and sink their teeth in deep. Cole didn’t know how long he’d been sat like that, measuring each breath he took, before a knock on his office door had him raising up, hurriedly collecting himself. He’d thought the clubhouse had cleared out hours ago. It was one reason he’d chosen to stay back that night. He’d chalked it up to routes and paperwork that he needed to sort through, but really, Cole just couldn’t bear the thought of bringing anyone else down with him. At least here, in his solitude, he couldn’t do that– or so he’d thought, and now briefly, he wondered if they’d heard the glass shatter against the wall. Clearing his throat, he straightened in his seat, “Come in.”

Chapter Eleven: nothings gonna hurt you baby.

CHRIS:

I found Nate in the backyard, alone—sitting on the edge of a cracked lawn chair, half a beer in his hand, jaw tight, stare even tighter. The wreckage of the party night still hung in the air empty cups, ash from the fire pit, and the silence that came after a storm.

I wiped my palms on my jeans and walked toward him, heart punching my ribs. I’d rehearsed this in my head a hundred times, but now that I was here, none of it mattered.

He didn’t even look at me when he said, “You got some balls showing up here.”

“I know,” I said, standing a few feet away. “But I’m not gonna run from it.”

That finally got his attention. He glanced up, eyes bloodshot, like he hadn’t slept. “You already did the worst part, Chris. You didn’t even tell me.”

“I wanted to,” I admitted, swallowing hard. “I just—I knew you’d be fucking pissed. And I get it. But I need you to hear me when I say this wasn’t a game.”

He stared at me, and for a second, I saw the kid I grew up with. The one who used to pull me out of fights and cover my ass when I skipped class. The one I was betraying.

“Is this some ‘ask for forgiveness’ bullshit?” he asked.

“No,” I said quickly. “I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m asking you to know that I love her.”

The words dropped like a bomb. Nate stood up, beer bottle dangling in one hand. “You love her?”

I nodded. “Yeah. I didn’t plan to. I know what it looks like. But I’ve never felt like this before, man. And I’m not gonna walk away from it just because it makes things complicated.”

He stepped closer, and I felt every ounce of his anger. “She’s my little sister, Chris. You get that? My fucking sister.”

“And you think that means I don’t see how amazing she is?” I shot back. “She’s not just your sister, Nate. She’s Y/N. She’s stubborn and smart and she’s been through hell. She makes me better—and I want to be better for her.”

Silence.

His jaw clenched. “You don’t get to fuck around with her and then come here acting like a hero.”

“I’m not playing hero,” I said, voice sharp. “But I’m not hiding either. I’m telling you man to man, I love her. I’m gonna be there for her. I’m gonna protect her. Whether you accept it or not, that’s the truth.”

His fist tightened around the bottle, but he didn’t raise it.

A long breath. He looked away, biting his tongue. Finally, he muttered, “You better not break her.”

“I won’t,” I said, chest aching with the truth of it. “You have my word.”

We stood there in a heavy pause, the space between us littered with years of loyalty and a brand-new fracture.

But he didn’t throw a punch.

And I didn’t back down.

Y/N:

It was late afternoon when I heard the knock on my door. Not the impatient kind that demanded attention, but the hesitant, uneven kind. Like whoever was on the other side wasn’t sure they should even be here.

I knew before I opened it.

Nate stood there, hands shoved in his hoodie pockets, head ducked like he didn’t want to meet my eyes.

For a second, we just stared at each other.

The silence between us wasn’t empty, it was heavy. Full of everything we hadn’t said since the night he’d screamed at me, kicked everyone out, told me I wasn’t welcome in my own house.

He finally spoke first. “Hey.”

I stepped back. “You want to come in?”

He nodded once, stepping inside like it hurt.

He didn’t sit. Neither did I.

“I talked to Chris,” he said quietly.

My heart stuttered. “Yeah?”

He looked down, then up again, jaw tight. “I still hate it,” he admitted. “Hate knowing that it’s you and him. That it happened behind my back.”

I bit the inside of my cheek. “We didn’t want to hurt you.”

“I know,” he muttered. “But you did.”

“I know,” I echoed, voice cracking. “But so did you.”

His brows pulled together.

“You screamed at me, Nate,” I continued, stepping forward. “You told me I didn’t belong here. Like this wasn’t my home too. Like I was just some girl screwing your friend.”

He flinched, and I didn’t stop.

“You’ve brought girls here. Girls you don’t even care about. I’ve walked past them in the hallway while they wore your shirt and acted like I didn’t see. But when it’s me.. when it’s your sister, suddenly it’s a crime.”

He opened his mouth, then shut it. His throat moved as he swallowed hard.

“I’m not a kid anymore, Nate,” I whispered. “I deserve love too.”

Silence stretched between us again. But it wasn’t angry this time. It was soft. Sad.

Finally, he spoke.

“I’m sorry.”

I blinked.

He looked up at me eyes glassy, voice rough. “I’m sorry I said those things. Sorry I made you feel small. I just, I panicked. I didn’t know how to protect you from that kind of hurt. And when I saw it was him…”

“I get it,” I said, softer now.

“I wasn’t mad because it was Chris,” he said. “I was mad because it was real.”

That made my chest squeeze.

“Look,” he sighed, “I know you’re not just screwing around. I see it now. The way he looks at you. The way you look at him. It’s different.”

I nodded, tears prickling behind my eyes.

“I was wrong,” Nate added. “And if you… if you’re happy, then I’ll try to be okay with it. I just want you safe. That’s all I’ve ever wanted.”

I stepped forward and hugged him, tight.

He held me like he used to when I was little and scraped my knees. Like he was still trying to make up for all the ways he hadn’t been the big brother I needed lately.

“I’m sorry too,” I whispered. “For hiding it. For lying.”

We pulled back, and I saw the old Nate again. The one who snuck me candy and watched Finding Nemo with me when I couldn’t sleep.

“You’re still my favorite sister,” he joked weakly.

“I’m your only sister.”

“Still counts.”

We smiled, small and a little broken, but real.

Two Month Later

Y/N:

Everything was back to normal now Nate, Nick and Matt were laughing by the bonfire and me and Chris were walking down towards the beach, the ocean was a whisper behind us, waves kissing the shore in lazy, rhythmic hushes as the sky above melted from peach to lavender. The last traces of the sun clung to the horizon, setting everything in this honey-glazed glow that made even the sand sparkle. I was wrapped in Chris’s hoodie, the sleeves long past my fingertips, the smell of him, cologne and summer salt, wrapped around me like a memory.

We’d wandered off from the bonfire again, bare feet digging into the cool sand as we walked in that easy silence we’d fallen into lately. Not awkward, not even quiet really. Just… full. Full of everything we didn’t need to say out loud. Chris was quiet as we walked, like his mind was full but his chest was steady. And I didn’t mind. I loved the silence when I was with him. It never felt empty. Just safe.

When we stopped near the waterline, he pulled me close from behind, arms around my waist, chin resting on my shoulder. The sky was bleeding into navy now, the stars flickering in early.

“You ever think about how far we’ve come?” I whispered, leaning into him, the sea breeze catching strands of my hair.

He let out a breath, warm against my skin. “Every day. Every damn day.”

We stood there for a while, just listening to the waves crash in rhythm. My head rested against his chest. I could feel his heartbeat. Slow. Steady. Certain.

And then, he said it.

“Nothing’s gonna hurt you, baby.” His voice was quiet but sure, almost like a prayer. “Not anymore. Not if I can help it.”

I turned around to face him, my heart flipping in my chest.

“Chris…”

He took my hand gently, eyes glowing under the stars.

“I mean it, Y/N. I don’t care what anyone thinks. Not our brothers, not the world. I’ll fight for you every time. I’m not going anywhere.”

Tears pricked the back of my eyes, and I opened my mouth to say something, but then he was already moving nudging me with his shoulder giggling. “Remember when we used to come here as kids and pretend we were shipwrecked?”

I laughed. “And you made me collect seaweed and tell ghost stories.”

He grinned. “You loved it. You said you’d marry me on a pirate ship.”

“Only because I thought you’d make me walk the plank if I didn’t.”

He smirked, then stopped walking. The tide brushed up to our toes like it was listening.

“Alright,” he said, suddenly serious and soft, “let’s do it.”

I blinked. “Do what?”

Chris cleared his throat dramatically, took my hands in his, and stood just a little taller. “Y/N L/N… will you make our childhood dreams come true? Will you marry me right here, with the ocean as our witness and seaweed as your bouquet?”

I burst out laughing, but there was a heat behind my eyes too. “You’re insane.”

But he smiling like he meant it more than anything in the world.

“Marry me,” he said softly. “Someday. When we’re ready. When the world’s quiet and we’ve figured it out.”

My eyes welled instantly. “Chris…”

He smiled, leaning forward until our foreheads touched. “You don’t have to say yes right now. Just, know I mean it. It’s always been you.”

“You’re serious?” I whispered.

“As a heart attack,” he grinned. “So say yes so I can stop sweating.”

I laughed, and I nodded, and I pulled him up and kissed him like the world had finally tilted back into place.

“Yes,” I breathed against his lips. “Of course, I will.”

He kissed me harder, messy, smiling into it, both of us sinking into the sand like idiots in love, like we had all the time in the world.

And for the first time in what felt like forever, we did.

You Waited Five Fucking Years For This: The Motion Picture

‘You Waited Five Fucking Years For This’ is the recording (called the world’s greatest Team Plasma comedy film) for the day that Hugh and Nate raided the Plasma Frigate.

It lasted over an hour and a half and was centered around the name Plasma grunts had given to Hugh, an annoying and reckless kid who won’t shut the fuck up about his sister’s Purrloin.

Plot

The recording’s footage starts with Hugh and Nate battling Neo Team Plasma until Zinzolin, One of the sages referred Hugh as the crude nickname ‘Angry Qwilfish Motherfucker’, a term coined by the grunts of Neo Team Plasma.

The accidental nickname caused almost everyone except Zinzolin and the Shadow Triad to burst into laughter, before you all ash, yes, Lord Ghetsis was fucking laughing aswell and it was a relief to the grunts strangely enough.

Despite Zinzolin’s frantic attempt to correct himself amid the snickering grunts, it ended up failing and turned the entire battle into a huge, hilarious clusterfuck.

Ghetsis ran out of his office to laugh in a bathroom, most of the grunts and personnel were dying from laughter, including a certain younger sister of said ‘Angry Qwilfish Motherfucker’.

And then Abby, who actually knows this annoying little bastard commented: “Awww, he remembers your nickname!” only to be told by Hugh to ‘shut the fuck up’

And it may of embarrassed Hugh even further when Nate started laughing hard at this almighty nickname clusterfuck,

After a few minutes, Ghetsis and Mark, the Old Plasma grunt soon left the bathroom, the latter had been crying in the bathroom earlier, then both burst into laughter again

This scene caused Abby to point and then playfully pat Ghetsis on the shoulder commenting that her ‘grouchy boss is laughing’, Ghetsis and Mark were laughing too hard to notice

Unfortunately calming down was futile because of the hilarity of the nickname and Ghetsis and Mark laughed even harder

Surrounding grunts were ‘aww’d by the sight of their boss who is likely the grumpiest man in Unova and Team Plasma laughing and smiling for once and how precious Mark is when he’s laughing because he cries so much it would put a water fountain out of business

And here is the movie’s all star quote and tagline:

“WHERE THE FUCK DID THE OLD PLASMA GRUNT COME FROM?!”

Hugh who started to become even whinier demanded Ghetsis to answer him.

Eventually the two bastards left because of the humiliation, also Hugh’s little sister, Hana or 627-2 heard the whole fucking thing, DOUBLE POINTS!

001. When is their birthday?

i BELIEVE though i never wrote it down for some reason that his birthday is April 24th, 1968. and in toussaint’s spirit: taurus sun, aries moon. oh my god there is so much fucking taurus in this chart??? which honestly. that makes sense.

002. Do they do anything to celebrate their birthday?

oh i’m sure they do, they seem like the carrot cake type honestly. but i think they mostly want to spend time with their family, have an excuse to barbecue and watch old movies and teach them all how to do tarot readings. get his other two sons up to nevada instead of dragging all of the family down to louisiana

003. Does your character like coffee better, or tea?

ssaint is a tea person but i think ultimately they aren’t too picky!! but coffee is heavily sweetened.

004. Do they prefer being alone or with others?

he definitely prefers the company of other people, i don’t think toussaint is one for being alone with his own thoughts. toussaint always has family or friends nearby!!

005. Are they in good health?

aside from being a little bit off their rocker they’re in fine physical shape!! mentally, theyre medicated but still a little “kooky” or weird, but doing alright!! 

006. What sense do they most rely on?

i think toussaint relies on sight and touch equally, and heavily. ssaint is big on reading people and trying to create a comforting presence but they’re also very physical, they’re the kind to put a hand on your arm or shoulder even if you’re a stranger. they also make assessments, not judgements, based on appearance and body language. they try to assume the best of everyone so its never ill natured.

007. Is your character an optimist or a pessimist?

happy is ever the optimist BUT they have had. Moments.

008. What is their favorite fairy tale?

I THINK ANYTHING WITH A WITCH, even an evil witch they’re just into the vibes, but i think they mostly like a happy ending.

009. Do they believe in happy endings?

DID NOT SEE THAT THIS WAS THE NEXT QUESTION but yes, absolutely he does. toussaint fully believes there’s a relatively happy ending possible in almost every scenario. even at the worst of times there’s a “better” soon and a possible ending that can be happy, or almost happy. happier than you are during the worst of it. if it isn’t happy, it’s not the end yet.

010. Do they believe in love at first sight?

ok i think..... no. i think that toussaint views love as something very deep and complicated and personal and deliberate, and believes you can’t love someone at first sight. but i think they believe in having a connection at first sight, in sharing spirit, and in being enamoured instantly.

011. How would your character court the person of their dreams?

they have, twice now!! both times went well (well. i mean, gene died but that was no fault of ssaint’s). toussaint’s love language is in interpretation and service. he loves understanding and learning about the people he loves, listening to them and connecting bits of their personality and experiences into a fleshed out person that they care for and hold. and service, they love to do simple things for the people they care for, to make their lives easier. making dinner, doing laundry. but also more interesting things, putting together a personalised interpretation of their astrological chart, tarot readings, prayer..... they’re gentle.

012. What makes your character embarrassed?

toussaint has never felt embarrassed in their life (except for maybe as a teenager, dealing with emmanuel)

013. Have they ever been bullied or teased?

it’s unlikely they never were being someone that easily sticks out by their height and presentation and style BUT they’re not the kind to be bothered by that, toussaint is exceedingly content with their life and their self, so it wouldn’t have stuck in the mind.

014. Detail one secret shame your character feels.

okay this is #noncanon secret content stuff but also interesting: in one canon long ago toussaint DID kill their dad and feel like, conflicting feelings about that. their dad was terrible and it was better off for both them and nate but still, gnawing. though in canon i think they feel a little bit of shame that they, the entire haines parental unit, has never been 100% honest with the kids

015. Are they most likely to fight with their fists or their tongue?

toussaint is physical in love but definitely not physical in anger. toussaint would never fight anyone if avoidable. but if you incur toussaint’s wrath you are getting skinned alive with words—they aren’t hateful, just much too poignant for your tastes. toussaint knows you and they don’t intend to use that for pain but if you don’t give them a CHOICE you are getting drawn and quartered spiritually.

MotoAmerica Headed Back To Road America With Fans In Attendance

If you’re racing in the 2020 MotoAmerica Series, specifically in the HONOS Superbike class, one thing is certain: You’re hoping that there’s no such thing as déjà vu when the proceedings get rolling again at Road America this weekend for round two as MotoAmerica becomes the first motorcycle series in the U.S. to host fans post COVID-19 shutdown.

You don’t have to have a very long memory to recall how four-time MotoAmerica Superbike Champion Cameron Beaubier performed in the opening round of the series. The Monster Energy Attack Performance Yamaha rider demoralized the field with two runaway victories at a racetrack that normally features nail-biting finishes.

Beaubier led every session except for the warm-up on Sunday morning when mechanical issues held him to just one complete lap. He also broke the lap record with his 2:11.145 coming in the second session. Then the Californian simply owned the races, winning the two by margins of 7.8 and 14.3 seconds, respectively.

But that was then, and this is now, and we will find out in a few short days if the rest of the pack has found anything to gain time on Beaubier.

It’s Beaubier’s new teammate Jake Gagne who is closest to Beaubier in the championship after one round, the laid-back Californian finishing third and second in his debut on the second Monster Energy Attack Performance Yamaha YZF-R1.

Gagne had battles in both races with Westby Racing’s Mathew Scholtz and M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Bobby Fong, with Scholtz finishing second in race one with Gagne third and Fong fourth. In race two, the other two handed Gagne second place when the pair crashed out together in turn five after Fong clashed with Scholtz. Both men were quick up until that point with both dipping into the 2:11s. Ditto for Gagne.

That left an intense battle for the final podium spot between Scheibe Racing BMW’s Josh Herrin and KWR’s Kyle Wyman and his Ducati Panigale V4 R. Herrin came out on top, by just .011 of a second, and his sixth- and third-place finishes puts him third in the title chase, 24 points behind Beaubier and just two points ahead of Wyman who earned fifth- and fourth-place finishes in the opener.

Scholtz is tied for fifth with Celtic HSBK Racing’s PJ Jacobsen with FLY Racing ADR Motorsports’ David Anthony, Fong, RideHVMC’s Corey Alexander and Thrashed Bike Racing’s Max Flinders rounding out the top 10 in the series standings after one round.

The rider who struggled the most in the series opener is the same rider who most believe can make Beaubier’s life a bit more difficult. That man is Toni Elias. Elias’ opening weekend was atrocious. In race one, the Spaniard’s Suzuki GSX-R1000 lost its chain and in race two the former 2018 MotoAmerica Superbike Champion crashed. He comes to round two with zero points and a real need to get his feet back on the ground on the M4 ECSTAR Suzuki. If there’s a highlight to the weekend for Elias, it’s the fact that his best time over the course of the weekend this year was .675 of a second quicker than his best from a year ago.

Road America 2 Notes…

With the debut of the Mini Cup by Motul class and Heritage Cup exhibition class, entries for round two of the 2020 MotoAmerica series have eclipsed the 180-rider mark.

Ticket sales are also on the rise with sales on pace to equal or surpass the 2019 numbers just one race after no spectators were allowed at round one, a race that had record numbers of viewers worldwide. “We’re extremely happy with how the opening round of the 2020 MotoAmerica Series went at Road America,” said MotoAmerica President Wayne Rainey. “We had huge television numbers with FOX Sports, Eurosport, MAVTV, NBC Sports, YouTube and MotoAmerica Live+. The event went off without a hitch, thanks to the efforts of our in-house staff, the staff at Road America, our volunteers, the riders and the teams. Now we get to go back to Road America and race in front of our fans, which will make this second race in Wisconsin even better. The COVID 19 pandemic has impacted everyone’s lives in some way and we’re happy to give our fans the opportunity to get out and see some racing at a world-class facility like Road America. We will be doing so, of course, using COVID guidelines.”

Beaubier’s two victories in the HONOS Superbike class at Road America in round one were the 39th and 40th career AMA Superbike wins for the four-time series champion. Beaubier is third on the all-time AMA Superbike win list behind Mat Mladin (82) and Josh Hayes (61).

Of the active riders in the HONOS Superbike class, Beaubier is on top of the all-time AMA Superbike race wins list with 40 victories. Toni Elias is tied for fourth on the list with Miguel Duhamel with 32 wins. The next highest number of wins by an active MotoAmerica rider is Josh Herrin with eight wins followed by Mathew Scholtz with two.

Road America 2 will mark the debut of the MotoAmerica Mini Cup by Motul class. The Ohvale-spec racing class will feature riders aged as young as seven competing on the go-kart track, which is located by the Carousel corner.

Cameron Beaubier broke his two-year-old lap record at Road America 1, the Monster Energy Attack Performance Yamaha rider putting in his quick lap in the second session – a 2:11.145. Beaubier’s previous best – a 2:11.422 – was set during Superpole in 2018.

Valentin Debise’s racing plans were thwarted by COVID-19 travel restrictions when he was denied a visa to leave his home country of France. Debise was slated to ride the second Scheibe Racing BMW in the HONOS Superbike races at Road America 2.

Six different manufacturers will be represented on the grid at Road America: Yamaha (eight entries), BMW (four entries), Suzuki (four entries), Kawasaki (five entries), Ducati (two entries) and Honda (one entry).

As far as manufacturers go, Yamaha has the most wins at Road America with 21 followed by Suzuki with 17, Honda (12), Ducati (eight) and Kawasaki (four). Yamaha had won seven of eight races until Suzuki swept both races in 2019 with Toni Elias and Josh Herrin. Beaubier started a new Yamaha streak with his two wins in Road America 1 at the end of May.

Riders from six different countries will line up at Road America in the HONOS Superbike class with the U.S., Spain, South Africa, Great Britain, Brazil and Australia all represented.

Going into last year’s two races, Beaubier had won seven of the past 10 Superbike races in Elkhart Lake, but he was shut out in 2019 with two second-place finishes. Beaubier ended that streak with his two wins at Road America 1 a month ago.

If you remove Richie Escalante’s two runaway wins in the Supersport class in the opening round of the 2020 MotoAmerica Series at Road America at the end of May, the combined margin of victory for the other support classes on a sunny weekend in Wisconsin was a scant .168 of a second. All that close racing happened without fans in the season opener, but this weekend’s action will take place with fans at the picturesque four-mile-long racetrack in Elkhart Lake as MotoAmerica becomes the first motorcycle series in the U.S. to host fans post COVID-19 shutdown.

Like the premier HONOS Superbike class with Cameron Beaubier’s first-round domination, the Supersport Series opener also featured a double winner with HONOS Racing’s Escalante starting his season off with a bang with two race victories on his new Kawasaki ZX-6R. Escalante topped Celtic HSBK’s Brandon Paasch in race one by 11.5 seconds and M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Sean Dylan Kelly by 16.1 seconds in race two to complete his perfect weekend. On track, Paasch was second both times out, but he was disqualified from race two when his Yamaha YZF-R6 was found to be under the mandatory weight limit. Kelly, meanwhile, had his troubles in race one when he crashed out.

With his two closest competitors each failing to score points in one of the two races, Escalante leads the championship heading into this weekend’s Road America 2 by 24 points over the surprising Nate Minster. Minster and his TSE Racing Yamaha finished fourth in each race and he ended the weekend four points clear of Kevin Olmedo in the championship chase. Olmedo earned his first Supersport podium in race one but slipped back to 10th in race two. Paasch and Kelly are tied for fourth – 30 points behind Escalante.

Going into the opening round of the Liqui Moly Junior Cup Series, it was almost a forgone conclusion that defending champion Rocco Landers would have his way with the rest of the field. After all, Landers did win 14 Liqui Moly Junior Cup races last year en route to the title.

But it seems as though no one reminded Dominic Doyle of that.

Doyle won both races over the course of the weekend – by the slightest of margins. On Saturday, the South African beat Landers by .078 of a second. On Sunday, it was even closer with the BARTCON Kawasaki besting Landers by a Bond-like .007 of a second. For those not keeping track, that translates to Landers and his Landers Racing Kawasaki missing out on victory in two races by a combined .085 of a second.

With his two wins, Doyle goes back to Road America with a 10-point lead on Landers. Third place is held jointly by Benjamin Gloddy, the New Hampshire resident ending up fifth and third in the two races on his Quarterley Racing/On Track Development Kawasaki and Celtic HSBK Racing’s Samuel Lochoff, who mirrored Gloddy’s results with a third and a fifth. Westby Racing’s Cody Wyman heads to Wisconsin for round two tied for fifth in the point standings with Rodio Racing’s Gus Radio.

Just when you thought things couldn’t get closer than .007 of a second, they did. In Saturday’s opening round of the Twins Cup Series, 1833CJKNOWS’ Kaleb De Keyrel won by just .002 of a second. And guess who was second? Yes, it was Landers – in his Twins Cup debut on the Roadracing World Young Guns/Sportbiketrackgear.com Suzuki. On Sunday the same two went at it again – this time joined in the battle by Robem Engineering’s Jackson Blackmon. Believe it or not, Landers again came up short. Just short. Like .082 of a second short and that put him in third place as Blackmon beat him to the line by just .001 of a second. So in four races, Landers lost out on victory by a combined margin of .169 of a second. We have a feeling that Landers might show up for round two just a bit fired up.

With De Keyrel 14 points ahead of Landers heading into round two, Blackmon is third, a further five points behind. Jason Madama, who put his Syndicate Racing/Apex Assassin’s Yamaha on the podium in race one, is fourth in the points and five points clear of his friend/rival Chris Parrish.

PJ Jacobsen made his Stock 1000 debut a successful one, the Celtic HSBK Racing Ducati rider beating Altus Motorsports’ Cameron Petersen and his Suzuki GSX-R1000 by 4.26 seconds with Ride HVMC Racing’s Corey Alexander third on his Kawasaki ZX-10R. Mesa37Racing/Tango’s Stefano Mesa and Michael Gilbert Racing’s Michael Gilbert rounded out the top five with the Stock 1000 class only having one race in the opener.

Road America Support Class Notes…

MotoAmerica has upped the minimum weight requirement for the Ducati Panigale V4 R to 180 kilograms from 170 kg in the Stock 1000 class, effective immediately. PJ Jacobsen rode the Celtic HSBK Ducati to victory in the Stock 1000 class in the opening round of the series at Road America and will have to race with 22 pounds added to the Panigale for round two.

The largest grid for round two at Road America? That would be the Twins Cup class with 28 of the twin-cylinder motorcycles entered for the second round of the MotoAmerica Series. Stock 1000 features the second highest entry with 23 followed by Supersport with 22 and Liqui Moly Junior Cup with 20. The premier HONOS Superbike class will feature 24 entries for Road America 2.

Double duty: Rocco Landers isn’t the only Liqui Moly Junior Cup rider pulling double duty this weekend. While Landers will compete again in both Liqui Moly Junior Cup and Twins Cup, he will be joined by Cameron Jones. Jones, who rides the only Honda CBR500R in the Liqui Moly Junior Cup, will race a Honda CBR600RR in the Supersport class at Road America this weekend.

The official track length at Road America is 4.048 miles, which makes it the longest on the MotoAmerica schedule. The track features 14 turns and is affectionally known as “four miles of fun.”
