Okay so having a really quick play about with Ellipsus, loving what I'm seeing so far.

1 - FOLDERS (suck it, Google Docs). And SUBFOLDERS!!!!! (I just really love folders okay don't judge me)

2 - The draft management actually looks fantastic. Need to investigate it a little more but really impressed with that (being able to side-by-side, lock scroll, AND the merge function looks great? Being able to give them designated names??)

3 - Really easy document navigation using the headings and outline feature. The main reason I don't like doing longer documents in Word, takes a bit of a faff. This is as easy as selecting a heading and BAM done.

4 - I don't do a lot of collaborative writing but this looks like it would be amazing for that. There's comments, collaborators, but also a CHAT feature. Makes me think this could actually be good for RPs as well as story collaboration if folks wanted, especially people who like to convert RPs into stories after the fact.

5 - Exporting work looks quite easy. Buttons for PDF, rich text - and also HTML! That could be really useful for AO3. Definitely going to give that a try with my next fic.

6 - The phone UI seems pretty nice as well, which is huge for me as I love getting some words in when I can't sleep or am hanging about waiting for something.

I wish I had the brain power to actually DO some writing right now but I don't lol. Excited to give this a try though after I've had another 30 or so hours sleep.

there’s that weird minigame in into the pit (the game) that has bonbon so i was like okay in this AU millie isn’t even dead so like. that minigame wouldn’t exist but what if… bonbon… in real life instead..

so Oswald finds bonbon deactivated in the weird ballpit world (and yes i have an explanation for this i’ll leave it under the cut as well as some extra info), accidentally wakes him up, and bonbon does not fucking like him but he’s like “okay you’ve been here before and left?? let’s make a deal i’ll help you survive and you get me the fuck out of here”. so it’s like a reluctant alliance turned eventual friendship.

TLDR: Freddy gets in a fight with baby, badly injured, thrown out, taken in by Jeff’s Pizza when it was a bit more popular, kids climb on him daily and eventually break his arm off, bonbon falls into ballpit and freddy can’t find him. he gets thrown out again because kids have trashed him. a few years pass while he’s stuck in the junkyard and bonbon is unconscious in the ballpit world in the past. Oswald finds him and they

Considering one of bonbon’s functional purposes on funtime freddy being a lookout (bonbon is described as “parental tracking/360 pivot” on freddy’s blueprints.) I think he’d use that to help Oswald and act as a lookout, keeping track of where threats are and informing him when one’s coming closer and from what direction. he would try to trick him sometimes out of pure mischief though.

also i think bonbon himself probably wouldn’t have that “kill kids when they’re alone” programming just because he’s so small so he wouldn’t get the job done quickly, he would probably only tell freddy “hey nobody’s around, get that kid” so with freddy not even there he isn’t much of a threat to Oswald unless he chooses to be.

AAANYWAY how bonbon got in the ballpit ❤️ keep in mind a lot of this is entirely from my brain. at this point we’re getting into “entirely canon divergent” levels of AU so be warned

i thought it would be funny if freddy and cb got into a fight and cb just beat the shit out of him. based on 2 things: 1. the fight when they kicked baby out of the ennard hivemind and 2. a roblox rp i was in 😭😭 LOLL it wasn’t a serious rp (at least not on my end, i think the person playing CB was being for real) but it was so funny i loved it

SO anyway i figured the only reason they were able to beat baby was because it was all the funtimes working together and because they were kind of all equally distributed in ennard. i think if it was just funtime freddy trying to fight circus baby he would 100% lose she’s like a foot taller than him

so freddy gets his shit rocked, and management is like “we’re done with this guy he sucks” and throws him out. Jeff’s Pizza picks him up like “hell yeah weird mascot thing” and puts him in the ballpit room to stand there and let kids climb on him. eventually because he’s still pretty broken his arm breaks off from the weight of a bunch of kids hanging on it and it falls into the ballpit. later on he goes looking for his arm and bonbon and can’t find either of them.

the pizza place ends up throwing him out because the kids are just trashing him and he ends up in the junkyard where millie’s grandpa finds him years later. I’d imagine in that time he would become an urban legend of sorts, wandering around looking for things nobody can find, and taking the life of the occasional kid who’s out past their bedtime. He’d become more jaded and cynical instead of his former silly self during this time too.

HI GUYS FUTURE LEMON HERE i had this in drafts and now im looking at it again. there’s a detail i forgot! while time passes in the ballpit world, no time passes in the real world 😃 fuck! SOO that kinda fucks this story up but ALSO. this is an AU. i can do what i want. and i don’t think the story will be too horribly affected if i just disregard that? so that’s what im doing 👍

PHANTOM AU - (Phantom Haven)

Nico's near-death experience endows him with powers and now he has to be a Savior which means he has to fight phantoms to keep people safe which would be a doable job, BUT that's not the only task of a Savior. He also has to uphold the integrity of the Savior System (ugh),Do good deeds and report them to his supervisor (double ugh), train his Lumen (dead eyed little thing doesn't like to listen to him so...ugh again!) and last but definitely not least he has to dedicate his life to figuring out how to use his endowment to cure a great societal problem... to perform... a MIRACLE TM. (yikes on bikes, no pressure). Will he be able to live up to the expectations of greatness that has been thrust upon him? or will he fail?

Each Level comes with its own set of rules. The level right before heaven, which requires Demons to go to earth to collect evil humors that taint people's souls, has the MOST rules. With him being unable to see his family, not knowing what he's doing, and finding out that his childhood friend has grown into a handsome...Preist in training?!? Nico finds that he can't keep the all of the rules straight, especially because he's not. (Rated M)

No one tagged me to do this lol but I saw it on someone else's blog and thought it was really cool! And I'm trying to get better at being proud of my writing so here I am doing it!

It's mostly hxh, but this year and last I've been dabbling in other fandoms like MDZS and Hazbin Hotel

I try to but I have a hard time staying on top of them so I mostly just respond to comments on fics I've recently posted haha ^^; but I love comments it always makes my day to receive one!

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

For HxH, it's probably: The Soulmate Phenomenon - modern soulmate au in which Killua rejects Gon being his soulmate Time x Bomb - canon au in which Killua is taken by Pitou instead of Kite For non HxH, I would say Statues which is a she-ra fic in which Adora dies and Catra ends up living at Bright Moon with her grief.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Oh gosh the happiest??? I write a lot of happy endings but purely happy fics are a little harder to come by so I'm just going to focus on HxH fics: After x Glow - post canon aged up au of Gon and Killua cuddling nothing else but you - modern au in which upcoming musician Gon visits his long distance boyfriend Killua during the holidays Shotgun Lovers - modern au in which Gon proposes to Killua after a month of dating

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Not often but there's been a few comments here and there about elements in my fics that some people didn't like. A lot of people were unhappy with Time x Bomb so that's probably the one I've gotten the most hate for.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Lol yeah I have but only with friends as an rp sort of thing and that was yearsssssss ago.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

I don't write a lot of crossovers but I think my daemon au series is the closest I've got? It's basically just HxH but with daemons from the His Dark Materials series.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I'm aware of and I hope I never will!

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes! I've had a couple of very nice people reach out to me, I'm honored that people liked my fics enough to want to translate some of them.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Only in an rp sense

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

Killugon, obviously haha XDDDD the only other ships I would consider to be my otps are usuk (Hetalia) and gamkar (Homestuck)

15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

The Wild Card and Gold Stained Blue TTT^TTT The Wild Card is a hetalia cardverse au that was my first attempt at a multichapter fic and I just don't have the energy to continue it any more. I'm planning to post a final summary of the ending so at least it will have some closure for readers. Gold Stained Blue is a killugon musician au written out in like bullet point form across three different google docs because it's so ridiculously long. I never got to post any of it because I was too tired after typing all the bullets out so rip. Maybe one day I will post the rough draft just for fun lol.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I think I'm really good with dialogue and also one shots. I love writing requests too because I get to create a whole story that has to be told in just a few paragraphs.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I'm not too great with worldbuilding or coming up with non-prompt ideas. I always feel like my more original stuff doesn't make sense and it's too exhausting to flesh out.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I think it's cool but I wouldn't do it again for a fic of my own because I can only speak english and I do not want to butcher another language haha

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Maybe....sharkboy and lavagirl??? I loved that movie a ridiculous amount haha. But the first fandom I posted anything for online was Hetalia.

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

This is so impossible to answer aaahhhhhh! I have a soft spot for all my long multichapter fics (Words That Water Flowers, Graffiti, Swan Feathers, Waiting On You) but my the most fun one shots were the most indulgent ones (5 Times Gon Was Jealous, steal x your x breath) and I also like how painting flowers for you turned out since it was a very different fic than my usual ones.

How many OCs/characters do you have exactly? And what are their names. I'm curious (⁎⁍̴̛ᴗ⁍̴̛⁎)✨ (If you don't mind, I'd be interested in hearing something about them, as well)

(Unfortunately I'm not good at getting into any AU I want to get into right away, so I'll start though by getting to know the characters (Ｔ▽Ｔ))

oh boy, my OC’s huh? Okay, so outside of the ROTTMNT fandom, I have, uh, a lot let's just say. But I hardly use them, and they mostly exist for my friend who loves to RP with me and is obsessed with me making OC’s so she could like, self-indulge herself with, which is fine and fun!

But for the TMNT/ROTTMNT fandom alone?

I currently have 9? OC’s right now. Some of which are already known and named and are based off the ROTTMNT series. I also have 9 potential future fics (ones that I haven’t drafted/started yet, but I have a poll saved in my drafts for when I wanna post it to see what fic out of those I should make next)

Anyway, so I have basically a lot more OC’s in mind, I think I posted maybe 3 or 4 potential OC’s to use for some of the future fics but they don’t have any names at the moment.

So, getting back to your question, I’ll name the ones that I already have:

Adriaen: So, most of my followers are hopefully aware of who Adriaen is as he was the first OC I created and posted his fic on here. He is from my fic Collide, which is set in the canon timeline show and has just finished season 1. I’ll be making season 2 and the movie in the future. Adriaen is a turtle who found by Leo when he was three years old and had ever since lived with the brothers and Splinter. He has no clue who he is related too, and therefore as he got older (following canon timeline now) he hired another mutant turtle named Ronin to go and basically try and find anything be could of Adriaen’s DNA. (So far it hasn’t been revealed on who Adriaen is, that will happen much later on) in the Collide story, Leo has had a crush on Adriaen since he was about 7 years old but is too I guess shy to confess to Adriaen who remains oblivious to Leo’s love.

Ronin: Ronin is my second OC, also set in the Collide story. Ronin is more of a mystery and is considered the “enemy” in the fic. When really? He’s just misunderstood and actually helps out the turtles a lot. He was once the youngest Battle Nexus champion for Big Mama who forced him to fight after she took him under her wing when he was a little kid living on the streets of the Hidden City. Ronin has…been through a lot of trauma (some that haven’t been revealed yet) and Ronin retired early as a fighter and convinced Big Mama to let him be his own turtle. So now, Ronin is something of a freelance worker. Taking on any job, such as spying, stealing, stalking and even killing. Whatever his clients want, he can do. He was hired by Adriaen to find out more about Adriaen’s DNA, in order to do that, Ronin disguises himself as Draxum’s assistant. I don’t want to spoil who Ronin is if you haven’t already read the book or know, but let’s just say Ronin and Draxum have a history together.

Giovanni: Giovanni is the third oc I created and is from my current book I’m working on, Eyes On You. Which leans towards a much darker and angsty theme. Giovanni is the oldest brother of the turtles but he was separated at birth? Creation? He was discovered by the EPF when he was only a baby after Draxum’s lab blew up, and was “raised” by the EPF for years. He was actually abused a lot of the times in the EPF, becoming scared of needles and whatnot. At some point, he was sent to the Prison Dimension by accident and an experiment gone wrong and was trapped with the Krang for a decade, being tortured by them and suffering lots of trauma. I mean lots. Years later he returns to earth when Leo was in the prison dimension (movie timeline) and Giovanni saved him and got out. Since then, he is adjusting to the world and getting use to family. But currently he ends up back in the clutches of the EPF.

Three/Luca: Three/Luca is my fourth and next OC that I’ll be uploading a fic about soon. He is the biological twin brother of Leo, having been separated at birth and raised by Draxum who had abused him to shape him into being the perfect warrior. He is named Three due to Draxum numbering the turtles on who was created in order. Raph being One, Leo being Two, Three being, well Three, Donnie four, and Mikey 5. At some point in the story, Three joins his family and is eventually given a new name, Luca. He’s a pretty grumpy turtle who doesn’t like his family for a while, he and Donnie especially don’t get along.

Matt: Matt is my next OC and is the youngest son of Adriaen and Leo. And youngest twin brother of Nico. Him and Nico are around in the bad future timeline, with the two sharing the DNA of Leo and Adriaen. I’ve been trying to keep their backstory a bit of a secret, but I’ll talk more about them in the future. Matt is essentially a lot like Leo in terms of personality.

Nico: Nico is my next OC and is the oldest son of Adriaen and Leo. And oldest twin brother of Matt. Him and Matt are around in the bad future timeline, with the two sharing the DNA of Leo and Adriaen. I’ve been trying to keep their backstory a bit of a secret, but I’ll talk more about them in the future. Nico is essentially a lot like Adriaen in terms of personality. He and his father Leo don’t quite see eye to eye on things and they argue a lot.

Caden: Caden is newer OC I’ve made, who I’m still figuring out the details of. But I’m sure you’ve seen him around on my profile, especially recently with the Fanarts I’ve been getting from @cimmerian1275 . Caden’s story, Do I Look Like Him, is set in the bad future timeline where Leo has “died” but Mikey transferred his soul to the nearest being that could possibly store him, and that was Caden who had been in hiding in Draxum’s underground lab. Draxum created Caden 17 years ago in the Krang war as a backup in case one of the brothers died for good. Caden now has Leo who is actually alive and is just kind of living inside of Caden, sometimes possessing him so that he can talk and whatnot. Leo’s body is preserved in a stasis tube much like how Caden has been for years. Caden in the story suffers a lot of trauma, that being identity crisis as lots of time he is mistaken to be Leo as they look alike.

Dante: Dante is an old OC but he’s also I suppose new? I haven’t posted much about him simply because he was like I guess a concept OC? Or an OC I had in mind to make but just haven’t focused on a lot in comparison to my other ocs. Essentially, Dante is the son of Donnie, or more specifically a clone of sorts of Donnie. Draxum created him in case Donnie had one day died. Donnie is not happy about this and refuses to accept Dante as his son/clone. He ignores him a lot and avoids him. But over time and through challenges they’ll get along.

Zenix: Now Zenix. I haven’t posted anything about him. Or if I did, it’s very brief and his name is probably not even mention. Fun fact, Zenix was actually the first TMNT OC I’ve made before Adriaen was going to be released. His world is not set in the ROTTMNT series/fandom but is actually set in the TMNT 2012 universe. His story was either going to be a Leo X OC or Donnie X OC, but after time, I’m not sure what route to go with, and I’m currently debating if his story should be a canon X oc or just only a OC centric fic. Either way, Zenix works for Shredder. He was I guess captured by the Foot in Japan and was trained and abused to be a fighter for Shredder’s army/clan. Zenix goes with Karai to New York and he meets the turtles. At some point in the story, he works as a spy for Shredder and pretends to be on the turtles side, living with them and helping them out in missions. Zenix however betrays them, a lot of times actually but all because he’s actually scared to leave Shredder who always manipulates Zenix into staying with him. Zenix to put it bluntly, suffers from Stockholm syndrome with Shredder. But over time, he actually does leave Shredder and join the turtles, but he still shows some trauma. Zenix’s story is called Puppeteer (which is in drafts atm)

Guys, I promise. I may not know much, but I do know that you'll never get any better at writing if you're not cringy or self indulgent. Please, I implore you. You need to give your brain ample practice to explore your WIP and characters. But you CANNOT do this while also expecting yourself to create masterpieces.

So, to break the idea that authors always have to create masterpieces, here is a non-complete list of every cringy or self-indulgent thing I have wrote. I'm on my 7th draft of my novel, and I've written over a million words in my life. However, this is a complete timeline of all of my writing.

These are my most... Interesting works:

-I began my writing journey with fanfic. Fairly standard. Harry Potter, to be specific.

-I created my first few characters. Roleplayed like mad with old friends that are no longer with me (they aren't dead we just aren't friends anymore).

-1st draft. It sucked. But it exists.

-1st draft of 2nd book. I got 1 chapter in.

-2nd draft. Less bad, still awful.

-A Disney Descendant's AU. Yes, that's right. The musical? I put my stupid book characters there. The song lyrics were actual chapter titles. I was 14.

-A High School Musical AU.

-A stage-play adaptation of the 2nd draft.

-The third draft.

-A MUSICAL adaptation of the 3rd draft. 3-4 original songs still exist somewhere deep in my computer files. It was 2020.

-The fourth draft.

-I begin to roleplay with a good friend of mine. We've done roughly a hundred AUs together, and I've written about a million words in RP alone. I wish I was exaggerating.

-A comic adaptation of my fourth draft.

-A Newsies AU (specifically the Broadway version). I'm 17 now.

-ANOTHER rewrite of the Descendants franchise. This time not even with my OCs. This one was baller. I was almost an adult.

-The fifth and sixth drafts, which both needed to be restarted less than 20k in.

-Ideas for a sci-fi began surfacing around my freshman year of college. I'm yet to actually act on anything.

-The current, seventh draft of my novel. I'm approximately 3 chapters away from finishing.

-A Rise of the Guardian's AU with my novel characters. Not Guardian's of the Galaxy. The animated film about Jack Frost.

-A secret, scheming new version of a stage play based on my novel. I really like plays.

-An AU done through RP called "Malumien Academy" based on the TV show Wednesday, and the film Dead Poets Society. There's at least 50k words to it.

Along the way, I've come up with many concepts. I've roleplayed just about every Disney film. You need to practice. You need to write. You. Need. To. Be. Cringe.

Introspection for week 1 of @the-wip-project's Getting to know your story (through writing it).

I've really fallen out of the habit of doing regular solo writing in the last year or so (or… kind of longer than that, 2023 was comically horrible for us), so I signed up for this as an accountability thing to help me get back into it.

And then in the leadup to it I outlined a separate thing and realized, well, that's not really the point of the WIP Project thing, is it? So I grabbed another idea from the barrel that I keep putting off because I could never get my thoughts together to make a useful outline. We're wingin' it.

The characters are super familiar to me, but I'm grabbing them from a period of time where their motivations and drives are different from what I'm used to, specifically to force myself to ask if they've already developed the traits that make them who they will be in the future -- and a lot of the time so far, the answer has been "kinda but mostly not really", which is exciting to me.

And obviously it's fanfic, that's why I'm posting this on my Dragon Age sideblog (but I did sign up with ~bogunicorn I promise it's just me)

Set in 9:34 in Ostwick right after the Qunari uprising in Kirkwall, Thayet Trevelyan is a Templar in the Ostwick Circle -- a position that she took in order to protect her younger brother, who is her father's illegitimate son. Her closest friend and ally is Aeryk, the First Enchanter who ended up in a southern Circle after fleeing Tevinter 11 years ago. When she manages to convince her mother's family that her half-brother is actually her full brother so that they'll collect him from the Circle and bring him to Minrathous for freedom and education, she also finagles a legal escape from Ostwick for Aeryk -- with the condition that they marry before they make it back to Minrathous. They make it to Tevinter's capitol, and then… I don't know because I haven't gotten there but I hope it's good drama.

I've written Thayet a lot, especially in private storylines with my partner, and only gotten to write Aeryk a bit, since he's the wife's character that I have some shared custody of (which means I enjoy writing him a ton, I love him, he's so cool). Their interplay is really fun to write, especially when it feels so different from an RP-style narrative; when you do that kind of writing, the audience for it is really just the people writing the narrative and pretty much nobody else, so I tend to put in jokes or asides that I think will make my partner laugh or that I find fun but cheap. But if I'm writing for an audience of people I'm not in direct conversation with, the relationship with the audience is totally different, so the places in the narrative where there might be in-jokes, or very long conversations that are allowed to meander, or some other signs of RP-as-an-activity that don't really apply to solo writing, I end up having to fill in with details that anchor them so they're readable to strangers.

My wife is beta reading for me, and my first draft of the first chapter had some pacing issues that were making the foundation shaky, so to speak. It was just a bit too quick, and while the romance was certainly there, it was relying too much on the vibes of the other fanfic that it's sort of spun off from, when I really don't want to make that a pre-requisite read. In adding trying to mend a janky transition, I ended up going with a completely different tone than I expected.

I often end up feeling like my first draft of a thing lays down the text, and the second going forward are like laying moss on top of it to make the text more subtext-y. That was definitely true of what I worked on this week.

Initially, they got into a pretty nasty fight! It was damage grinding against damage and making sparks, and while I do love that for them, I had an issue with the transition between subjects in the conversation that I asked for help ironing out. And when I filled in the empty space that was fucking up the pacing, the tone went somber and stayed that way.

And I like it a lot more, because both characters are really showing off the inherent conflict in their flaws. I think it's more effective to see them both tired and beaten down and kind of disappointed rather than raising their voices or being openly dismissive of each other. They're both acting from places of shame and wanting to prevent more damage in the future, neither of them are advocating for the wrong thing, but their trouble to communicate comes directly from wanting to do the right thing and not knowing what to say to get there. And I find this internal conflict more compelling in the second draft, I think.

This is shaping up to be about trying hard to do the right thing when you have no good options, and also about self-doubt and finding your worth in situations that make you feel like you have none. And (this IS a romance) about holding onto the people you care about the most even when everything is trying to keep you from being happy with them.

Finally, one fucking fic that isn't inherently about the nature of grief. Nature must be healing a little bit.

I have a close friend who plays Cloud and his Cloud is the only Cloud my Vincent will ship with. I apologize to anyone playing Cloud and wanting to ship with Vincent. I'm just not comfortable doing so and I'm happy with the current Cloud I have. That doesn't mean I won't roleplay with other Clouds, however. After awakening and discovering what had happened, he retreated to a coffin in the Shinra Mansion basement, overwhelmed with guilt over failing to protect Lucrecia and stop Hojo’s work. His body had stopped aging, and not being able to die, Vincent decided to entomb himself for the next 20+ years. When Vincent is discovered many years later by a group of people trying to save the planet, Vincent's demeanor had changed from that of a caring tender-hearted young man to one of callousness, darkness, and self-abasement. He joins the party for the sole purpose of meeting his arc nemesis, Hojo, to exact revenge. He also seeks to put an end to Sephiroth's existence who has been terrorizing the planet, feeling responsible for Sephiroth's cruelty. His ultimate goal is to find redemption for his past sins.

HOW I PORTRAY VINCENT VALENTINE I will default to Rebirth Vincent. However, I will also roleplay OG, AC, BC, and DoC's versions of Vincent upon request. I will also roleplay Turk Vincent or Chaos with Vincent personification.

I like to portray Vincent with as much canonicity as possible, this includes his personality, backstory, etc. In places where there are gaps, I will interject my own interpretations accordingly. These will be in the form of headcanons which I will provide later on. Vincent does not have any children. He is not Sephiroth's father. If you have an OC who is portrayed as Vincent's child, or you play Sephiroth, please do not assume that my Vincent will adopt or treat your muse as their offspring. The way I play Vincent is that he has never had sex with Lucrecia. I am open to playing with the idea of Vincent having kids of his own, but that must first be developed through roleplay. As for Sephiroth, again, I do not subscribe to the Vincent-dad fan-theory. However, if you play Sephiroth as a child, I'm open to the idea of Vincent adopting Sephiroth in an AU scenerio. But in no-wise will Vincent see Sephiroth as his biological son. Vincent has the Protomateria in his chest, and he is not conscious of Chaos' true power (yet). This will be my default version of Vincent, unless our RP causes him to become aware of Chaos and transforms, or if we are roleplaying in the DoC verse. Do not assume that he knows he has Chaos yet. He is aware of his three other beasts-- Galian, Hellmasker, and Death Gigas.

The only character Vincent will have an automatic romantic connection with is Lucrecia. Please do not assume he will have any romantic feelings for your muse until chemistry is created FIRST. If your muse is flirty, do not expect Vincent to flirt back. He is disconnected with his emotions. The most you'll get the first few rounds is either a cold shoulder or he'll have signs that he's shy or nervous. He's a very hard shell to crack if you want him to connect with your muse naturally and in a romantic way. It's not impossible, but expect to put in some effort. I'm more for the slow-burns, anyways. Whatever you do, please don't jump his bone and expect him to be immediately horny. I play Vincent as bisexual-demisexual. If he doesn't trust your muse, he will not have any desire to pursue your muse emotionally. I may like our muses together and want them to ship, but the chemistry must first develop. Vincent is a switch/seke. Depending on your muse and Vincent's level of sexual attraction towards your muse, he will either become more dominant or more submissive. Underneath all his garb, Vincent has a monster arm under his gauntlet, a very faint scar under his Chaos-eye, and an equally faint scar on his sternum. He may have the face and body of a handsome young man, but Vincent has a warped image of himself and therefore will be dismissive if someone says he's attractive. He has a number tattooed on his forehead, given by Hojo, which he has attempted to burn and tear off with no success. Thus he keeps his headband on as much as possible. Vincent is capable of warping into his cloak in order to escape an attack, but can only do so in short distances and in short spurts.

During certain fights and situations, Vincent may use a scythe.

Vincent is naturally good with children and enjoys both cats and dogs. Cats and children in particular are naturally drawn to him. His only fear is harming the ones he cares about. By way of connection, he is therefore also afraid of losing control over his demons. If Vincent loses his Protomateria, he will have little to no control over his demons (Chaos in particular). If Chaos takes control over him, Vincent will likely have no recollection of what happened. Since Vincent is immortal, Vincent does not have a need for sustenance. His body is constantly regenerating itself, and therefore cannot get sick, degrade, hunger, thirst, etc. He can fatigue, and will experience extreme exhaustion whenever he uses Chaos, often leading him to faint or become debilitatingly weak.

Vincent has a high tolerance for chemicals, pain, drugs, alcohol, etc. However, they can all still affect him. The only thing he is immune to is anything created by tainted Lifestream aka Nero's abyss, and he is also immune to Geostigma. (More to come later)

I have a thought, about character creation. I hesitate to claim this thought is some sort of advice, it's just a thought, though I think it merits further exploration and practice to see how it goes. The thought is this:

I think sometimes, when a writer struggles to actually sit down and write, but has a lot of OCs, it's because you think of your characters too much as people. I think some people struggle to tell stories because they are more interested in coming up with people.

Let me elaborate.

I've always been very focused on character creation as the foundation of good writing. When I was younger, and just starting to write, I remember someone proposing the question - which is more vital to creating a good story - a strong plot, or a strong character? At the time, I answered strong characters, hands down. My argument was that a strong character can still carry a weak plot, but a strong plot can still be boring af if the characters are weak. I do still see some merit to that line of thinking.

When it comes to actually writing down my stories, though, I've always really struggled with first drafts. I would fill notebook after notebook with detailed notes on plot points, worldbuilding, and most of all, on characters. Elaborate backstories, personality breakdowns, strengths and weaknesses, hopes and dreams and fears and every other thing that you've seen on a character profile template. I would take my time with things like choosing names, and I would flesh out their families and the people around them because to know their relationships is to know them. I've been protective of my characters, cherishing them, as many of us do, as if they were my children, as if they were dear friends of mine.

But I have yet to complete any long form projects. I have yet to complete any rough drafts for novels. When I was younger, it was because I was determined to do my stories justice. I was determined to do my beloved OCs justice. I didn't feel my writing was strong enough so I just... didn't write for my original works. I would play around with fanfiction, and I read a lot, and eventually I got into writing RP. But I didn't do anything concrete with my OCs beyond making plans for their stories.

Then I entered a short story contest — NYCMidnight's short story contest. They go in four rounds, and give you a prompt, a word limit, and a time limit in which to write your story. You get a week and 2500 words for round 1, three days and 2000 words for Round 2, two days and 1500 words for Round 3, and 24 hours and 1250 words for Round 4. The first year I participated, I went 3 rounds before being knocked out. Last year, I wrote for the first 2.

Which means I've produced five completely original short stories for the prompts given. I was absolutely shocked by how productive I was in such a short span of time. You are given your prompt the moment your clock starts ticking for each round, so you don't have time to prepare ahead. Which means that not only did I have to come up with a plot very quickly, I was also creating characters on the spot.

When you have three days to write a story, you can't spend months carefully crafting a character. So when it came to drafting, I just started slapping very quick characters together that could do what was needed for the plot. My prompt is genre: ghost story, character: a best man, and subject: temporary? Okay, then I need a bride, a groom, a best man, and a ghost. My bride is (picking a random name) Victoria, she's checking out venues with her fiance, and she realizes the place they're checking out is haunted. And off we go.

And you know what? I figured out who Victoria is as I wrote. She's conflicted, she's on the verge of breaking things off. The ghost is reaching out to her, helping her come to terms with the end of her relationship. I didn't need to know her favorite color or her childhood trauma or her blood type to write the story. Some of those things might come out in the writing. Many of them just never become relevant.

Now, I'm not saying that character profiles are trash. I don't hold with blanket advice, and this isn't advice, remember, this is just a thought. But for me, doing these fast exercises even though I always had thought of myself as a planner not a pantser, showed me that I can still write a damn good story even without writing a novel's worth of notes and plans alone.

Getting back to the original thought... I guess what I'm trying to get at here is, sometimes I think authors can get so tangled up in the create-a-character stage, or the world-building stage, that we forget that we aren't meant to be writing a travel guide, or designing a fully-realized person.

At some point, you have to say okay, now lets put that person in some situations and see what they do. You gotta stick them in a scenario where they are not just spouting backstory at another character, but are making a choice. Okay, they have trauma. They have complex personalities. But what are they doing? What choices are they making and what waves are they making? That's where the plot comes from, and how you make it go. That's plot. And the plot is where the story happens. And you're just writing it all down as it goes, and that's your rough draft.

Every time i get stuck on a story, I instinctively reach for the background notes. I just need to know what makes them tick, I think, and that's how I'll fix it. But nine times out of ten, I don't, actually. That way leads to Not Writing (tm). And I still struggle with that more than I'd like for my bigger projects.

Trying (again) to bring it back to the initial thought... I just think it's interesting that the stories that were easiest to complete were ones where the characters were made up as I went along. I just wrote. Added new characters when needed. Oh, protag needs a friend to carry out a conversation? Guess we have a new character. They continue on their merry way, surprise, someone's stalking them, new character! Meanwhile the stories where I've outlined every character and know who each of them are, still sit unwritten.

That's not the sole factor in why a story has or hasn't been written out, mind you. It's more a comment on, if your OCs are too dear and you're taking too much time with designing them, you are losing valuable time that you could figure out who they are as you write their story. By you I really mean me. Or whoever might find this useful, I suppose.

1. How has stuff changed?

Ascendancy use to be more focused on being accessable for RP since it use to be a setting for a roleplay group. But since now its just me and Curt, and its gotten stricter rules within the worlds lore and magic systems. - It also use to be a lot more lighthearted but now that its just us we could focus on the interpersonal struggles of characters.

As for a story specifically... Lets say Amara's. She was never meant to marry King Caleb of Midonia, only Jeremias in the future, but it just fit sooo well for her to do that, it had to be done. It just peiced together amazingly

2. What do I wish I could keep but didn't work?

Originally there was supposed to be a war between Ishida and Anemoi but it got axed into just tension between the nations for a short while. It would be way too much to fit into the timeline now and mess a lot of things up. - Whats come up in its place is a much earlier war with Midonia, with some violence and loss from both sides but it was mainly a cold war where Ishida refused to allow itself to be a trading spot between the other nations and Midonia, crippling Midonias ability to move commerse between other nations and themselves.

Kobolds also use to be a thing, but they got replaced with my tiny fluffy dragonborns. i am tempted to bring back at least one reptilian sophant though, but im not sure where theyd fit nicely since most archetypes have been filled.

For Amara's story: (baby killing warning here and suicide) I was thinking about her not also killing her infant, Iasis jr, but i think it hits a lot harder if the boy passed away too when she kills herself. Plus im not sure where id put him. Jeremias isn't in the place to take care of an infant by himself and Deidre, Amara's daughter, is only 14. Saria and Iasis begin traveling around then too so it would change a lot for them as well

Xavier has always been regent, and has controled Mavros behind the scenes in the murder of Crown Skalono and in Anemoi starting a war with Midonia. As well, its always been a thing that Kurtys' and Mavros' sons would be rivals throughout their teen years

LISTEN HERE YOU LITTLE, kidding kidding, but it's not looking great right now. Life has been taking a toll, work is getting busier with school getting out and lots of kids coming to play, and I'm just exhausted a lot. I also started another rp blog that's not a fandom blog that has started taking up creative energy (that's a topic for another post). I'll catch up in time, I just wanna drum up the energy to rp my best.

9. Is it cheating to name one of my other blogs? Yes? Okay, I'll be fair. @ludwigplaytime 's writing is fantastic and their characterization of Elliot is wonderful. I enjoy reading their entries and interactions with other muses. But I'll take a moment to plug one of my muses since I'm lowkey obsessed with her: @queenlysistrata is my royal OC of her own fantasy land and it's been fun making her backstory and kingdom.

12. For Poppy Playtime, I would have picked either Dr. White, or a canon Catnap. I feel like I have a good grasp on my own versions of these characters. Dr. White would have been fun loving and good natured, but still puts kids into toy bodies for a job. And Catnap is... Catnap. But I just have a better grasp on my own OCs, so Dr. Gemma it is.

I became too horny for Homelander. I discovered x reader fics by wandering in the Homelander tag here. Then because I no longer have my RP writing outlets like I used to, I needed to brain dump the hyper fixation SOME WAY. Now I have piles of drafts with x reader fics and canon x oc fics. WHOOPS.

7? I mean I'm writing self-indulgent fluff, so I get to giggle and kick my feet. This is probably why nothing ever gets finished as I start editing and adding more any time I start writing longer works. DOUBLE WHOOPS.
