I watched a kind of stupid romcom, The Hating Game, which features two people working at a publishing company. She's a creative, he's a stuffy accountant, they hate each other. Overall pretty forgettable, with the only thing that stuck out to me about the romance aspect being how sex-motivated the woman was (there were a few times she seemed like she was thinking that this was just a fun sexual escapade).

But there's a point at the end of the movie where she has to present her plan for the future of this publishing company, and I was all ears. This is a classic writing problem, right? You're writing a character who is giving a rousing speech, and then you have to actually write the speech, unless you're going to cop out and just skip it. You're writing a character who's singing a song, and you have to actually think about what that song is going to be (though no one excepts to have a song packaged with their book). If someone is witty and charming, you have to write them that way. So if someone has an idea to save a publishing company from declining sales, then the author needs to think of one.

And in this movie, the pitch is that authors will post their chapters one at a time with special forums set up for each book, so the audience can comment on chapters as they come out, and the author can respond to and change the chapters. She compares it to old serials like Dickens used to write.

I was left flabbergasted. Ma'am, are you proposing to compete with Wattpad, AO3, RoyalRoad, or the other vast collection of websites already doing this? Are you hoping to get author buy-in? Have you thought about the fact that authors don't universally enjoy trying to shift a book based on audience feedback, and that audiences don't universally enjoy getting a book slow-rolled to them? Have you thought about what kind of content moderation strategy you're going to have? Who's going to build out this website and how you're going to attract people to it? How this interacts with the core model of your business where you publish actual physical books that have been edited by editors? How are you recouping costs here, or are you just thinking that a book-based social media site specific to your publishing company is going to drive readers somehow? I have just so many questions about this plan.

And stepping back, did whoever wrote this movie know that this was not a great or original idea? The movie is based on a book, and I would hope that someone who wrote a book set in the publishing industry would have some knowledge about how it works, but I guess I don't know.

I think my general advice to this writer's problem is "swing for the fences", write the poem that's supposed to bring joy to someone, think up the great plan your character is supposed to have ... but I think here, it's proof of how much this approach can result in falling flat on your face.

(I'm not sure how much the average viewer took note of this, I might be unusually sensitive to it because I'm a web serial guy.)

Dungeons and Daddies Wiki Drama: A Greek Tragedy Told through the Medium of Forum Posts (Part 1)

Prologue

Greek tragedies are typically formatted in three or more acts interspersed with choral interludes, beginning with a prologue, and ending with an exodus. In these, protagonists often meet their downfall due to their fatal flaw, or hamartia: the ways in which the protagonists are their own undoing. Our own human failings are the things that bring us the most pain.

When considering a three-act Greek tragedy structure for this, my first thought was to use the Oresteia as a framing device, a trilogy of plays written by Aeschylus about Agamemnon's family in the aftermath of the Trojan War. Upon reflection, though, the themes of the Oresteia (revenge vs. justice, perpetuating a cycle of violence, honor and punishment) didn't quite fit the story I was trying to tell.

No, this is a classic tale of hubris: excessive pride and its ultimate downfall.

After all, what position could come with more power than that of wiki moderator for a Dungeons and Dragons podcast series?

Act One: The Beginning of the End

The D&Dads wiki has historically been... unhelpful, at best. (Source: Myself.) Trouble had been brewing for a long time.

Forum posts from spring 2022 began noting issues cropping up around the wiki. First, it was a complaint about anonymous users "disrupting" the wiki (specifically on Jodie-related pages) while also fixing mistakes in articles.

I'm unsure what specific "disruptions" were meant, but the proposal to ban anonymous users didn't garner much traction.

March 21st, 2022:

After little activity for months (only one forum post, related to infoboxes), wiki user TwoRatner had a radical proposition: wiki migration.

December 17th, 2022:

TwoRatner suggested an alternate platform that would have different editing options, then made a potentially-prophetic statement: the wiki might be cursed.

This warning went unheeded.

December 27th, 2022:

Ten days after the migration suggestion, TwoRatner came back to ask if there were any recent changes. This went unanswered for months until new user Penguinwithafancytophat reported adding art to character pages (including Glenn, a main season 1 character since the start of the podcast in 2019, who incredibly might not have had any official art on his wiki page before March of 2023).

Spring of 2023 seemed to bring along a revival of the wiki, with new editors coming in, engaging with the forum, and attempting to make suggestions on how to improve wiki organization.

Enter: the drama.

It started out simple enough- a forum posts for administrators to discuss changes that needed to be made.

November 3rd, 2023:

Seventy. Six. Replies. Each deeply interesting in its own way.

However, this is a Tumblr post, not an Hbomberguy video essay, so I'll keep it brief.

The discussion started out as one might expect a wiki admin discussion to start:

Mods discussed blocks, deleting stub pages, spam, etc. Standard wiki business.

The first reply to ping my interest:

Removing cast pages from a wiki about their work seemed like an odd decision, in my non-wiki-editor opinion, but the last line is what really stuck out: "Besides, I hate the idea of someone vandalizing the pages to defame them."

Several questions arose for me:

Was this a known problem? Were people constantly vandalizing cast pages?

Would a vandalized fandom wiki page really defame somebody?

Isn't the point of wiki editing to remove vandalization on articles?

The administrators began to stand out to me as deeply invested in a very specific sense of wiki justice.

Users TwoRatner, Brazil86, and TheOneTrueGod41 agreed with Honic's take.

Another thing to ping my interest: these users seemed to share a similar odd, slightly stilted, writing style. Almost Tommy Wiseau-esque.

Brazil86 expressed optimism about users engaging with wiki pages, something that would begin to set them apart from other administrators.

As I read, themes began to emerge: wiki justice, and incongruous one-liners.

Quoth Honic Washington: "I just found a wave of nonsense fish. My backyard is full of them. Hey, TOTG41, do you like jazz? I like jazz."

Truly, modern poetry.

Administrator Marth8204 suggested giving people more time. More time for what? Unclear. It seems a plan was afoot.

TwoRatner came in with a hot take: "I feel like we need a community more right now, than adding links that people can search for in the search bar."

Brazil86 agreed: Changing the navigation was less important than getting people editing and making friends.

Another theme began to emerge: wiki community as more important than wiki functionality.

Gaycowboyrats had some (incredibly reasonable) objections to this, pointing out that the wiki was a resource for many visitors who might not participate- something that is generally true of wikis as a form of content.

Honic Washington responded to this, the signs of wiki-related stress beginning to show.

Honic posts a long rant about the thankless task of moderating a wiki, which goes largely unacknowledged.

Notable TwoRatner quotes:

"You can't crack open a few omelets without punching a few egg-rolls."

"Now Freddie will get more money. What do you all say? I think I helped quite a bit."

Another theme emerges: discontent in the wiki moderator ranks.

Honic reaches full Joker mode. Again, this goes largely unacknowledged.

Honic: "I am leader. I am a painter! Keep your rules. Keep your status. Keep your friends."

"Keep your status"- words that will reverberate throughout the rest of this tale.

The final theme? Wiki moderator status, and the maintenance of it.

After Honic's bomb drop, conversation about regular wiki moderation continued, with mods considering the addition of a bot to make edits.

Admin Discussion Zone, first started by Honic Washington, ends not with a bang but with a whimper.

Over nearly a year of forum posts, patterns emerged.

Firstly- users attempting to engage in the wiki, wiki administrators not engaging with these new users, then wiki administrators bemoaning the lack of user engagement.

The notable exception was Gaycowboyrats, the only wiki administrator to engage with new users in the forums. Gaycowboyrats, the administrator whose (incredibly reasonable) suggestions ended with Honic Washington's villain-esque monologues and denouement as a moderator.

Secondly- administrators putting forth large-scale, drastic solutions to real or perceived wiki problems. This includes Cheesoid4 wanting to ban anonymous users, TwoRatner suggesting site migration, Honic deleting cast pages to prevent vandalism, and more to come.

Thirdly- wiki administrators seeming to share similar styles of speech and occasional non-sequiturs. Interestingly, this mainly seems to include the wiki administrators who agree with each other.

Funny how that happens.

in light of an imminent teaser......

it is very important that everyone acknowledges that the marketing team will largely base a teaser on what they think the general audience wants, because they're trying to build hype for the show, and will want to draw in as many viewers as possible.

this post said a lot of what i wanted to say but the main gist of it is that you shouldn't expect much of a will focus in the teasers to come -- but mayyybeee we'll get lucky in the trailer. my point is: because of how swept under the rug will was in s3/4, the GA probably doesn't care much about him. he's not super important in their eyes. they'll likely be more drawn to something with characters they're more familiar with, like eleven. this doesn't mean will won't have a main focus in the actual show, because we have proof of that from the duffers' interviews, it just won't be what the marketing team particularly wants to pander too.

noah schnapp has also been a veryyyyy controversial figure as of late, and this will only add to this idea of keeping will's focus on the down low until the season comes out. i don't like to talk about him on my blog bc i personally don't support him but i think it's just important to note. just think about when ross posted the will bts picture for the first time and everyone on twitter was flaming him, and how every bts picture of him that has come out since has been met with negative reactions from the GA. he will be criticized no matter what, if it is a will-centric teaser or not, but having a heavy focus on him in the teaser won't make those who don't support him and his beliefs want to tune into the show. this is just simply coming from a marketing perspective -- his reputation puts the show under hot waters. this is also likely why he wasnt in the tudum special that the show put out in september, while finn, gaten, and caleb were. i just want everyone to be realistic and temper their expectations so that they aren't disappointed when the eventual el-vecna centric teaser comes out. praying tumblr won't be a dumpster fire then.

additionally, -- while i'm not counting on any ship-related clips in the teaser, maybe in the trailer -- it is important to note that we shouldn't take any mlvn/byler clips at face value or put so much importance on them. the duffers and teaser editors will want to include clips that most excite their general audience, and that, unfortunately, may mean a few mlvn clips here and there, because it is what the GA is familiar with. but it doesn't necessarily mean that the scenes will be positive, even if it looks like it in the trailer. the teasers like to screw with us. think of the 003/creel house teaser where they picked clips where lucas was rolling his eyes at max, and max looked upset in response. i remember lumax shippers on tumblr freaking out because they thought their ship was dwindling. these clips were never shown in the actual show and their interactions in the creel house ended up being very positive, unlike how the teaser suggested. in the first s4 trailer we got, we got a short clip of mike and el holding hands while roller-blading. while it looks sweet in the context, when you actually look at the scene, you see that mike and el are being portrayed in a negative light as they were both putting on fake personas to impress each other, and that the whole scene ended up zooming in on will and focusing on him anyway. my point is, don't immediately feel disappointed if we get a mlvn clip. the duffers will only share what they want us to see!!!

so in summary just don't expect much. i really hope they prove me wrong and we get a will centric teaser because i am soooo interested in his arc this season but i'm not getting my hopes up.

Welcome, thanks for stopping by! I go by the pen-name mtchee, though feel free to call me as you like. I am a 19 y/o writer-for-fun and aspiring editor and publisher currently furthering my studies and skills in University.

Tell me about The Many Stories, I'm curious!

Oh god, this one is part of an era I forgot about... the Reminders app era. ~2021, potentially older than that since I think I would bump up the "dates" on reminders. 2021 I made a Google doc file but it was just porting the notes and adding to them. I started writing for it on 4theworlds... who knows when, the dates are missing. I didn't get very far before putting it on hold since it's hard for me to do poetry and also the romance novel style one chapter called for; been taking note of poetry lesson videos and a catalogue of Jane Austen movies. But I definitely will do it one day, if not because I've grown fond of the OCs born from this.

It first started as just a Ripa 'Moramee thing, but then I came up with a Jul 'Mdama sequel. But basically it's an anthology of short stories written by OC Sangheili authors, the first one being hypothetical origin stories of Ripa 'Moramee and the second one being debate on a preferable ending to Jul 'Mdama than the reality. The format they have (the in-universe texts broken apart by an overarching narrative of the authors' discussion) is influenced by Touhou Project's Symposium of Post-mysticism (off-topic, but imagine if Halo did lore books like Touhou). There's also one other thing, not yet on 4theworlds, that's technically part of the series, but only because of the in-universe author OC, and that story idea is "what if Sangheili had their own version of Bram Stoker's Dracula".

OCs of note so far: (all the "Ripa origin story" authors; the ideas for the "Jul's 'ending' story" will likely require a cast change)

Mari 'Anton: Yes, her name is inspired by Marie Antoinette, I forgot why. She's the resident romance writer of the friend group; and while her work and passion suggests she is a hopeless romantic, and her lack of lovers causing rumors of high standards and diva-ness, she's actually what humans would call aroace. She's fascinated by non-platonic relationships as a study and romance fiction as an artform, yet she has no interest in partaking in it herself and it probably causes some inner turmoil since I imagine Sangheili don't have a proper term & concept for such a thing. Since recent Halo lore since her creation has given us the term "studymaster", I think she would semi-unironically call herself as "studymaster of love". Also looking at my notes... I think I accidentally made her personality "undiagnosed autism"?? She's subdued around most people, only growing passionate and energetic around those she trusts.

Fuyo 'Naham: An infertile woman who copes with it by helping with others' child-rearing, and later writing wholesome children's stories when her cross-species interactions lead her to discovering the genre (headcanoning that Sangheili aren't as "soft" in raising their children, their bedtime stories probably are more like ye olden folktale of the "there's an old lady in the worlds that will eat you if you misbehave" variety). She has since discovered the concept of adoption but so far has felt too much anxiety to do it. Within the friend group, while she doesn't start as much chaos, she is a frequent enabler of it. If Teka is "thinks something is stupid, tells the person to not do it", then she's "thinks something is stupid, insists the person should do it".

Teka 'Suham: His official role in the story is acting as mediator and transcriber. His unofficial role is to go "wtf are you talking about Jessie" to everyone's ideas and deliver the "but what if 'Moramee was just Like That for no reason" punchline in the first story. He's the least popular author in the group, specializing in technical writing and his biggest accolade being his name showing up in some textbook credits. But behind-the-scenes he's a dear friend to all these famous writers and frequent beta-reader and editor for them.

Thoda 'Masumai: A blademaster that started dabbling in poetry, becoming famous for both; the older he gets, the more he focuses on poetry over the sword, to the point it's hard to believe he used to be a master swordsman. The oldest of the friend group, vibes being very positive, optimistic, and "romantic thinking" (as in "romanticizing", not romance itself). No matter what shit gets thrown his way during heated discussions, he can never get put into a bad mood. Which is good, because basically almost all his friends and colleagues are insane /jk.

Keza 'Kasaj: The sci-fi author; likes science to the point he started using fiction as an excuse to showcase his theories. His energy with his writing is like if "Touch-tone Telephone" by Lemon Demon was little more hinged and about real science over conspiracy theories; I definitely feel him in the lyrics "I'm an expert, just like you!" because he has a tendency to seek out and badger scientists of all species with his questions about their research in his quest to have a grand overall "theory of everything", and then trying to get others to hear his out through disguising it as fun stories. And due to Sangheili being behind in scientific study, he has had extensive cross-species socialization.

Cazo 'Mulcal: He's the resident horror author, also in-universe writes the Sangheili Dracula story. He's not taken as seriously due to the culture being tough on "being afraid" and lowkey a subconscious need to discredit him as a coping mechanism towards fear. Like, "ha, how silly, to even think about little bugs that invade the body and slowly remake everything of your insides until you aren't yourself anymore and the slow descent into madness during the process... ha, t-that's silly, how would even be a-afraid of such a ridiculous concept". Personality-wise he's the least developed, but I imagine he has quite the imagination and his own hot takes on the nature of fear.

Relatively recently (and by that I mean during the process of making this, since making this caused me to think about the project and that's a slippery slope into developing new ideas and reviewing directions) I got the idea that there's a human OC translating the text to English. And now I've got the idea that the Sangheili authors have their own Thoughtsᵀᴹ about that human's translations and the art of translation itself (ranging from insulted to intrigued). But that's still too new and unexplored.

hello!! i love your rimworld stories so much! this might be a dumb question, but i was wondering if you had any tips for storytelling while playing rimworld? i love the idea of getting more into the narrative/roleplay aspects, but i sort of feel lost when i try. another possible dumb question: do you take notes as you play and/or do you rely on screenshots to translate into the comics? i’m probably overthinking this haha…im just fascinated with the idea of using a game like rimworld to tell a story

Hello!! I'm so glad to hear you like the stories! I have a lot of fun playing/drawing them, but it's especially nice when others appreciate them, too ❤️

Storytelling tips, hey? Hmm... I always think that as long as you're having fun, the story will sort of reveal itself. For me personally, it helps if I have characters I really like. When I first asked my brother to teach me how to play RimWorld, I actually didn't really like it. It felt like too much at once, and I couldn't get invested in the characters while also trying to figure out how to survive and make the game work.

It was only after my brother installed the EdB Prepare Carefully mod that I actually started to get into the story part of the game. I made a colony of characters based on a kids' TV show my baby sister and I watched (PJ Masks, for anyone curious). Now that I had characters I already knew, I could enjoy seeing the way they interacted with each other and the tasks they did, and I got more invested in keeping them safe during raids and researching things to make their lives easier. Only then did I start to write/draw what was happening, mostly for my own amusement but also because I enjoyed sharing it with my veteran player brother so he could roll his eyes at all the mistakes I was making (love you, bro).

Now, I use the Character Editor mod because it works better, but I still like to start out with at least one custom character in each new game of RimWorld. It helps me get settled in and ready to see what kind of story Randy Random decides to tell with them.

I don't know if that's helpful at all, but that's my tip for getting into the swing of things.

As for your other question, I don't really take notes. I do give the screenshots silly names that sometimes help me decide where I want to go with the drawing for that part of the story, but I mostly just wing it and hope it turns out in an interesting and (mostly) comprehensible way.

A few clouds are hanging above the paddock when Max finds himself standing inside his motorhome, browsing his phone. A day of filming another challenge for Red Bull Racing's various social media channels is finally over, and normally Max isn't a huge fan of it all. He wants to race and do as few interviews, challenges, or videos as possible. This changed, however, when someone special reentered the Red Bull spaces. That special someone is Daniel Ricciardo. For a long time now, they have been seeing, dating, and loving each other. It was quite hard since for the last few years they were racing for different teams, but somehow it worked out fine. Daniel is always making Max laugh, and the other way around. It is so easy for Max to film videos now, to be himself more, and to actually enjoy playing stupid little games or challenges.

Max is scrolling through his phone, slightly bored, when he lets out a soft, low groan. He puts his phone down and leans his head back against the huge pillows on the sofa. Still thinking about today's challenge, he can't shake off the thoughts of what happened today. He closes his eyes and gives in to one of those thoughts about what happened before.

The challenge was getting into the simulator blindfolded, with another helping them around the track. When it was Max's turn, he put on the blindfold, and right away, he felt a little aroused. Just hearing Daniel's voice echo through his mind was enough to really get to him. It was slightly weird to get into the sim like that. Maybe it was the lack of control or being dependent on someone else. Luckily, it was Daniel who should help him. At first, it was pretty good, even though Max's thoughts were flooded with imagery of Daniel. Just hearing his voice sparked so many different pictures, but he was able to concentrate on the challenge. After all, he loves the sim so much that he could basically do it while asleep.

But then, Daniel did something to tease Max even more. "I'm gonna go on my knees, so I'm more at driver line." He said, and instantly, Max panicked slightly. 'What is he doing?', he thought to himself, and  felt his whole body tensing slightly. Max sensed him right beside him, and more importantly, the faint, familiar scent of Daniel's favorite cologne reached his nostrils, sending shivers down his spine. More than a dozen different thoughts raced through his head. It felt like Daniel was about to tease him, touch him, kiss him right here, with Max unable to see anything. All of his body got stiff in anticipation, and his desire and lust grew bigger. Licking his lips, Max opened his mouth to say something, anything, but before he could respond in any way possible, Daniel leaned in to Max and whispered audibly into his ear. "And you can hear me when I talk to you like this." He said, holding back a giggle, but all of this was enough to spark another thought inside Max's head.

He already felt Daniel's hand on his body, opened his mouth, and let out a soft moan. In a second, he blushed, giggled, and turned toward Daniel's voice. They shared a quick laugh, realizing that they're actually getting filmed right now. Daniel, however, was completely aware of what he was doing and what effect he had on Max whenever he whispered into his ear. "You good, Checo?" He said, making anyone aware of how tense this small interaction had become. But this didn't stop him from teasing Max. Near the end of the challenge, he leaned in once more; this time, it was just meant for Max. "Fuck. The things I'd do to you right now." He breathed right into his ear, causing Max to hold back another, louder moan. It was quite intense, and he had trouble hiding the excitement gradually growing inside his skinny jeans, a disadvantage of tight clothing. While taking off the blindfold, Daniel placed a hand at his back, subtly stroking him while he whispered once again. "Too bad it's already over." His voice sounded so smooth and deep, as if craving more. Max just licked his lips before he said, "Just you wait, Daniel."

Still with his eyes closed, Max is getting more comfortable on the sofa. Legs spread, he breathes deeply, and subconsciously, he keeps on touching himself through his jeans. Once, then twice, his hand brushed over his length, thinking about what Daniel had said to him before. He groans quietly, adjusting himself to the pillows with his back rubbing against the sofa. Max is wearing his usual outfit: skinny jeans, a Red Bull shirt that's pretty tight, but that's how he likes it, and one of his beloved caps. His body is stiffening slightly, but he is still stroking himself lovingly.

"Enjoying ourselves, aren't we, Max?" A voice rings through the room, catching Max off-guard. His eyes jump open, and he turns his head toward the source of the noise. Of course, it's Daniel, standing between the doorframe, just closing the door silently behind him. "Huh?" Max says, unaware of his hand on his crotch, outlining his bulge with the tip of his fingers. Daniel motions toward it, causing Max to follow his gaze with his eyes. There is no denying it, and he doesn't bother to stop just for him, who's the cause of it after all. "Obviously." He hisses slightly. Daniel tilts his head, bites his lower lip, and runs a hand through his beautifully curled hair. "Feisty, aren't we?" He says this, holding back a mischievous grin. Of course, Max isn't angry with Daniel—maybe just a little bit. But to be honest, he missed messing around during PR shoots a lot.

"That's what you do to me, babé." Max raises an eyebrow and lifts his chin, looking at Daniel from underneath his cap. "Aww." Daniel says quickly and strokes his own chest once, then twice, before approaching Max. While keeping eye contact, he sits down right next to Max, who's eyeing him suspiciously. With one hand still on his crotch, Max rests his head on the other, with his fingers gently stroking his neck. Daniel lowers his head, trying his best to look into Max's eyes, but he's using that cap as a shield. Something he'd always do to stay comfortable because it grants him self-confidence. Daniel is aware of that, but he knows how to play around it. "The challenge was fun, wasn't it?" He smiles deviously, leaning in to Max again, who's lifting his head just enough for him to get a glimpse of his beautiful, bright eyes.

A coy smile spreads across Max's lips; he's acting shyer than usual. "It really was." He says it and feels his body getting into it right away, with his hand still stroking himself mindlessly. Getting even closer, Daniel's mouth is right next to Max's ear, and he feels his hot breath against his skin. "I meant what I said." He exhales deeply, sending shivers through Max's entire body. Immediately, his whole body is drawn into it, with all of his muscles and every fiber of his body tensing in anticipation. "What...." Max's voice breaks slightly, sounding even rougher than before. "What would you do?" He says this, and he is barely able to keep eye contact, so he focuses on Daniel's chest, his shoulder, arms, and hands instead. One of his hands moves to his own chest, stroking himself again through his jacket. "I'll tell you." He breathes deeply again. "But first, put this on." Daniel smirks, pulling the blindfold out of his pocket, and at first Max hesitates, but with a sly smile, he puts it on himself.

With his vision blocked now, he's ready to give in to his boyfriend. To calm himself down, however, he keeps on stroking himself. One hand is still on his crotch; the other is running across his own chest. "Fuuck." Max exhales deeply, followed by a quick chuckle. "I'm kind of nervous." He says, his whole body humming quietly. "It's fine. It's just me now." Daniel says it softly, his mouth right next to Max's ear. "May we start?" He asks, and Max nods slowly. "Alright." Daniel says, and by the tone of his voice, Max knows he must be smirking. This causes his heartbeat to accelerate faster than any car he has driven before. All of him is craving more, and he is unable to hide it. His muscles are bulging against the fabric of his tight shirt and jeans, with his desire visibly imprinting through their fabric. So many things are ringing through his mind in what feels like a nanosecond. But then it stops when he feels a hand on his chest. "I'd start by touching you, just the way you like it." Daniel's voice is so deep now, so soft, with his hand now touching his chest and his pecs through his shirt.

Right away, Max can't help but moan under a deep sigh. "So good." He exhales, and it turns into a soft chuckle again. Enjoying this feeling, he embraces that hand, which encompasses his upper chest, with the tip of the fingers brushing over his hardening nipples. Those hands know their way around his body, making sure to hit every sweet spot perfectly. Another hand joins his chest, making it even harder for Max to stay focused. "Enjoying that?" Daniel whispers, increasing the intensity of his strokes just slightly so as not to overwhelm Max just now. "So muuuch." Another moan escapes Max's lips, and his own hand follows Daniel's movements. "Good." Daniel smirks again. "How does that feel?" Max feels one of those hands now on his neck, tracing his firm jawline with the thumb and his soft lips with the tip of his fingers.

"Mhmmm." Max, unable to speak, purrs contently. He leans his head back before melting into that loving touch. At the same time, the other hand is running down his chest before slipping underneath his shirt. At first, Max flinches due to the cold hand, but it doesn't take long for him to embrace it as well. "Yeah, that's it." Daniel breathes deeply as his boyfriend purrs more and more. Max's entire body is now vibrating rhythmically as Daniel's fingers draw circles across his chest, outlining his tits, nipples, and abs, with all of his muscles reacting instantly to the slightest touch. "Fells good, yeah?" He whispers again, and Max opens his mouth to say something, but a low grunt is all that comes out.

"How about this, then?" The hand slides out of his shirt and instead moves toward the tent forming inside his trousers. Licking his lips in anticipation, Max's body gets stiff and rigid. "Daniel, fuuck." He groans once it reaches his length, stroking him lovingly, once, then twice, rhythmically, in sync with his own hand. "Come here." Daniel takes Max's hand, moving it away from his crotch and right toward his own. Right away, Max gasps, feeling Daniel's lust also building up rapidly. "Fuck." He grunts, turning his face toward Daniel, who's purring now too. "Let me help you." Daniel growls and guides Max all over his body. The feeling of his boyfriend's firm chest gives him goosebumps.

For a while, he is allowed to freely move his hand all over Daniel's chest and back to his waist, thighs, and crotch. It feels amazing, even though he can't see anything. All of this, including Daniel's scent hovering all around him, slowly overwhelms him. He opens his mouth to let out another, longer moan, but then Daniel kisses him softly, causing him to moan right into his mouth. Then, Max feels him separating himself before the blindfold is removed. At first, his vision is slightly blurry, but he's adjusting to the surroundings pretty quickly when he spots Daniel, smirking shyly. "How did it feel?" He says this, and Max slowly regains his composure. "Fucking amazing." Max smiles brightly, leaning in to steal another quick kiss. "We should do it again." At the sound of his husky voice, Daniel's smirk grows bigger. "I'll keep it, then?" He plays with the blindfold, and they share a laugh.

I have a question since you're from surrounding regions, is taylor actually well known in china? Why do you think GQ went with him there are a lot more famous celebs, taylor doesn't even have a lot screen exposure

So for some reason, I'm taking this question super seriously.

Please note that 1, I can only speak from my observation and my position 2, I'm from Hong Kong, so there are certain things about mainland China that I might not be aware of

Regarding Taylor's notability in China:

Is he well-known? Well, and I say this with all the love I have for Taylor, not really. In fact, during his time in China, there have been several cases in the videos that I reposted that you can hear people ask in Mandarin "Who is he?" A few more recounts I read said that quite several people who ended up near the fan crowd asked "Who is that handsome foreigner?" and followed and took photos/videos of him not because they recognized him, but because they were intrigued. (but side note, even the people who didn't know who he was said that 1, he's really handsome 2, he's really friendly, so that's sweet)

The thing about Taylor's notability in China comes in two regards:

1, RWRB became one of the most popular western queer media to be distributed on streaming platforms in China (especially since most if not all of the local queer media is banned, yes I'm angry about it), so this part kind of goes without explanation

2, Taylor uses Chinese social media platforms, which is really rare for Hollywood actors. This gives him a platform to interact with Chinese fans, since because of firewall/censorship, it's a hassle (and technically illegal but shhhhh) for Chinese fans to check his Instagram/ Tiktok/ Twitter(not that he uses it)/ Threads

Regarding the reason GQ went with him:

1, it was a personal invitation from the Editor-in-chief of GQ China (so more or less the head PIC of the event). They met during the Ferrari show, the Editor, Rocco Liu invited Taylor, Taylor said he'll come if it works out with his schedule and the rest is history.

2, And this is my speculation (because I care about international relationships and thought about this a lot), but I think GQ wanted to try something new by inviting Taylor, a Hollywood actor (and thus promoting the overall image of China but that's getting too political for my taste on my own public platform), and since Taylor is (a) currently popular since RWRB is still relatively new and the Chinese fandom is still really active (b) evidently willing to try out the local ways of things as seen from him using and operating his own Little Red Book and Bilibili account.

I mentioned this before, but I think that since Taylor was so willing to try new things (which is a quality of his that I personally admire greatly), all the people/organizations/companies in China who got in contact with him saw the opportunity to experiment and see what a Hollywood actor could do in a Chinese setting/market and how much traction he can bring. That's my guess for why he was so busy and going from event to event non-stop, and evidently looking tired by the time he was going back to the States (especially for someone who appears to never be tired)

So yeah. I think they took Taylor's enthusiasm for trying new things and his currently persistent popularity in China and ran with it. Not that it's a bad thing though.

But I will say this, for the GQ event, all sorts of people were invited. The most famous ones with a considerable career already (think the equivalent of RDJ, Brad Pitt, Leonardo Dicaprio etc), the currently popular young stars (think the equivalent of K-pop stars or the "white boy of the month" trend) but there were a considerable amount of people that I completely never seen or heard, and neither did a lot of Chines audience. In fact, I don't know who the two ladies who were in the same boat with Taylor during the water carpet are. So there's also that.

If Azriel does end up with Gwyn would you still read his book? I know some people say if Azriel does end up with then Gwyn they won’t read it, or if he ends up with Elain they also won’t read it. Regardless of who he ends up with, I’ll still read his book because I want to know more about him as a character. For example, I know Sarah was originally going to have Aelin end up with Dorian instead of Rowan (which I’m glad she didn’t because I think she’s better with buzzard), but changed it when writing Heir of Fire, and if that stayed the same (Doraelin happening) then I still would’ve read it because I like the characters and I’m interested in the story. Same with Manon, I’m both a Malide and Manorian shipper, so it doesn’t matter to me. I understand the appeal of both ships.

The ship wars are so aggressive lately. We can all like different things and still be friends and respect each other. I’m scared to share my opinions and interact with anyone, because I don’t want to be sent mean stuff that I’ve seen people get. I am a Gwynriel, but if Azriel ends up with Elain instead then I’ll still read his book. It’s honestly not that deep. I’m just here to enjoy myself. And honestly, while I do like Gwynriel, I love Gwyn as a character even more than the ship. I have the same trauma as Gwyn, and not to sound dramatic, but her character inspired me to work on self love and healing. Also, if Gwyn and Elain ended up together I would laugh and then squeal with joy, because if I’m being honest, I actually think both of them would get along and like each other. I don’t think Gwynlain will be a couple though and Sarah would not be able to do Gwynlain (or Azris) justice. They way she writes about queer characters is so off-putting for some reason, and this is my personal opinion as a queer woman.

I don't really care who Azriel ends up with. I just want his story to be well written. If she can convince me they belong together, I'll support it, but I will have to be convinced...and I'm not sure even Sarah herself could do that for me. If she can lay a good foundation for me and give them a good bond, I'm all for it.

Look, I have a lot of issues with her writing. As a queer woman with SA trauma I had to work through in therapy, there's a lot she leaves to be desired when addressing both of those topics. It's obvious she doesn't take criticism or really listen to her editors, and I think that's genuinely what upsets me the most. She has advantages I could never dream of and all of the opportunities in the world, and I've been really disappointed with the quality of her writing these last few books.

I know I get down about her a lot, but it's because I know she can do better...I just don't think she wants to or feels like she has to. And that's upsetting.

But I guess that's where fandom comes in, right? There are people out here doing these potential queer relationships and characters justice in a way even the author cannot. And I think that's wonderful.

I always want you to feel comfortable with me, and I hope you do. I think your opinions are great and I love it when you come talk to me. We don't have to ship the same thing to be friends, and I'm never going to be mean to you about it. I hope no one else is, either.

Nah because I was literally gonna add onto my previous anon (the one about the guest judge) about how I can't recall a pairing ever being like this after the show... even the duo that legit ended up being a couple!! Like obviously it was known they (the duo that actually ended up dating) were dating at some point but I can't really even remember that much from them... i'm pretty sure the editors caught wind of the rumors these two were fucking & decided to include all of their little moments in the episodes JSJSNSJSJ. 'cause it happens a lot! or maybe it could be an attempt to make plane more likeable for the viewers considering nymph seems to be her soft spot (and it makes sense with the potion!).

i think the way they act around each other is so interesting, they're both out there and private and they kinda feed us two separate narratives that can't be true simultaneously so we have to choose in which we believe. what attracted me to them at first was how they didn't seem to play anything up for the audience, they'd just be together and genuinely enjoy each other as if no one was watching. ever since that we got the tiktok & the tweet of their child amongst other stuff that were more public, yet i still think most of their interactions are very genuine and natural. nymphia has 116 tweets and one of them is a reply to someone saying plane is mean with "but she's my favorite" like 😭

chani leaving at the end instead of bowing down leaves open for exploration of irulan and paul's relationship, as a political alliance and as a marriage. even odd parallels between leto and jessica.

irulan is trained by the bene gesserit, however, she is told she is weak due to her individuality and not following most of the rules that are set for her.

i believe irulan is fascinated by paul atreides, aware that his mother went against rules to birth a boy when only girls are in the order.

she is a writer and scribe and transcribe stories from one language to another and speaks plenty of them.

regardless of paul, irulan always knew she was meant to be empress.
