I try to avoid TikTok where possible (that’s a lie, but I probably should avoid it) but sometimes I post little videos of me reading my poems and today I was informed that the most recent one ‘violated the community guidelines’. I appealed it and they put it back, but like… what could I possibly have done for it to get hidden in the first place. Was it because my cat was in the video. Are cats banned now. Was it because they hated my outfit. Does whatever AI makes these decisions have really strong opinions about poetry????

#the poem in question was basically me implying that my mother made a deal with the devil before I was born #(based on her telling me that she went to a woman who might as well be a witch in order to ‘sort things out’ and it worked)#(alright not really. she’s a homeopath. to which my younger self went ‘oh. a witch.’)#so basically ‘something something oops I’m not meant to exist and the universe is going to Get Me one of these days.’#to be clear I do not think that’s true it was just a fun writing exercise #(I suspect that all the homeopath really did was make her less stressed about the whole thing #so. it did work. after a fashion.)#(also — oh good more brackets. anyway — extremely fun that the end result of that was me. (you know. autistic.)#like you went to a witch in order to have a child and got a changeling.)
