One thing with Omori that Im finding is that its really important to me that the main younger 4 remain platonic friends. Theres something about the themes of this game that resonates with me on a friendship level to the point that I dont really want to ship any of them
#shut up me#i mean its my basic instinct not to ship#every time i enter a new fandom its the same surprised-pikachu you-people-are-actually-shipping-characters reaction#but I think moreso with omori#theres something really special there with the platonic relationships that I love#(except for hero x mari. I love them)

Raising the Next Generation | TMNT bayverse x Reader Kids!!
TW: Miscarriage (please read note at the end🤍)
Marcus (18) – Leo’s son
His name, Marcus, was chosen by Leo and means “warrior” (a nod to strength, leadership, and discipline)
He secretly plays a bamboo flute when he’s alone , it’s how he calms his mind.
He was the first mutant child born into the family and the first to complete ninja training from a very young age.
Despite being serious, he has a soft spot for Noah and often carries him on his shoulders.
He’s fascinated by the stars and knows almost every constellation by name.
Marie (16) – Donnie’s daughter
She’s named after Marie Skłodowska-Curie. Chosen by Donnie to honor one of his scientific heroes.
Like her mom, Marie has a photographic memory and can recall entire pages after reading them once. (you get the reference? hehe if don’t here is answer: …)
Her room is filled with glowing constellations, 3D models of molecules, and custom-built tech.
She once hacked into a security system just to help Max get his game account back.
She sometimes wears her dad’s oversized goggles for fun, even if they’re way too big.
Alec (15) – Leo’s son
His name means “defender of mankind” but he jokes it should mean “trouble magnet.”
He has a scar on his eyebrow from sneaking out to do a rooftop stunt at 10 years old.
He often “borrows” Marcus’s weapons and gets scolded for it, then does it again anyway.
He loves fast movement , sprinting, parkour, rooftop jumping, anything that gives him adrenaline.
He pretends he doesn’t care what Leo thinks, but he secretly keeps an old photo of just the two of them in his drawer.
Nova (15) – Raph’s daughter
Her name means “new star”, because Raph said she lit up his world the first time he held her.
She’s incredible at both painting and boxing, a strange but perfect combination.
She keeps a sketchbook full of emotional drawings she never shows anyone… except maybe you.
She once punched Alec for making fun of Ginny and broke his nose. Raph grounded her but also bought her ice cream.
Her favorite hoodie is actually one of Raph’s old workout shirts that she stole and never gave back.
Max (13) – Mikey’s son
Max loves making funny videos and even has a secret channel where he posts animations and skits (with voiceovers by Mikey).
He once taught Noah how to skateboard using a pillow and a lot of yelling.
He’s obsessed with pineapple pizza and has tried to convert the entire family.
He wears mismatched socks every single day, it’s his lucky charm.
Max often talks about wanting a little sibling, not knowing that his own birth was a miracle. You and Mikey tried for years to have a child, and you suffered two heartbreaking miscarriages before him. The moment you held Max for the first time, you both cried, not just because he was beautiful, but because he was your long-awaited light after the darkest times.
Ginny (12) – Raph’s daughter
Her name is short for Genevieve, which means “woman of the race” chosen to honor strength through quiet resilience.
She’s incredibly good at parkour and climbing, and often trains in silence when no one’s around.
She prefers solo sports, especially gymnastics and obstacle courses.
She rarely speaks in large groups but has a very dry, clever sense of humor when she’s comfortable.
She always tapes her fingers before training, a habit she picked up from Raph, even if she doesn’t need it.
Noah (6) – Leo’s son
His name was chosen because it symbolized peace and new beginnings after a difficult year for the family.
He’s obsessed with toy swords and has named each one after a superhero.
He often “patrols” the house with a towel cape and makes Marcus act like a villain so he can “save the day.”
He once drew a crayon picture of the whole family and gave Leo three muscles on each arm.
He insists on wearing socks with turtles on them because “they look like Dad.”
———————————
Hey there!
I hope you’re all satisfied and enjoying my take on the TMNT boys’ kids headcanons! I put a lot of thought into their children’s personalities and everything around them.
I know I touched on the topic of miscarriage here, and I understand it can be uncomfortable or painful for some people. However, I decided to include it because, sadly, it’s something that happens to many people in real life.
I personally know several couples who have gone through it, and I wanted to mention it here to remind us that life isn’t always perfect, these things happen too.
If this is something you’ve experienced, I’m truly sorry 🩷
You are incredibly strong, and you’re not alone in this.

Do you see a lion when you look inside of me? (Mary Earps x !Earps Male Reader)
"It all comes down to penalties at the Semi final of the Champions League.
Will it be Man City or Arsenal. The fate of the game lies in Ederson's and Y/N Earp's hands"
You step up and face Grealish who was waiting for the whistle to blew. It feels like forever but the whistle blew.
He ran up, you didn't move. He was about to strike. You read it and dove to the right. The ball went to the right and landed in the firm grip of your hands
"EARPS GETS IT!" You get shaking you head in defiance. You loved Jack but he is your enemy right now.
As you watch Saka shoot against Ederson and he dove in the wrong direction......Saka missed, he missed. You shook your head before walking back
Next was Kalvin Philps, you locked eyes with him as he ran down to the ball but you frowned as you saw him chip it, You caught it with anger "WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK I AM" as you kicked the ball away. "SHOW ME SOME FUCKING RESPECT. FUCK OFF" You said walking back as Kalvin was sent packing.
You watched Gabriel take the pen and your belief shattered as he struck the post. You starred in disbelief before regaining your senses. "Time to rev it up then" You said as you notice a pattern you hope didn't continue
You saved Dias's shot
Ederson saved Partey's shot
You saved Stones's Shot
Jorginho sent his wide
You saved Rodri's shot
Ederson saved Ødegaard Shot
Haaland sent his to the left post
Rice sent his wide
You were angry, How was your team missing! You have seen them practice pens. HELL YOU WERE IN GOAL WHEN THEY DID!
The Arsenal crowd were cheering you, they showed believe in you as you keeping them in the game. Ederson was frustrated, He let only saved to but if Jorginho, Saka and Rice didn't send wide they would have gone in as all of there shots sent Ederson the wrong way
You took a deep breath, Hearing the rain fall but the drops fading from your sight as you starred at the ball, You started to loosen up as you saw Kevin De Bruyne place it down. You felt the adrenaline pumping. You were having a man of the match performance. You played over 125 minutes saving over 20 shots on goal and no balls past you. If you were able to be on social media, You would see you were trending, The Arsenal women's team, Football friends, fans, pundits were singing your praise. Especially your sister Mary. She was so proud of you in general but her reaction online made fans love the antics
You heard the whistle blow, KDB took one glance at you before he ran, You saw for a spilt second were his eyes went as he started his run. You read his body and he shot the ball. You dove to the right following the ball. You felt the contact on your gloves, You pushed it to the side. You did it! You were going to the final!......
*ding*
You layed on your front as you starred were the ball layed....in the back of the net. You did push the ball but not enough to avoid the goal post that knocked it in. You starred at the ball. The adrenaline gone, the resolve you had gone, Motivation gone. You blocked out the sounds as you felt the dreams of a Champions League winner gone up in smoke. What was heartbreaking to the everyone else, well except the city players and fans was you.
You may of been in your own shattered world but all they saw on screen in front of them was this keeper who put everything into this match and season stare at the ball with a look that shattered hearts. Even when Ederson gripped your shoulder and said "You are a hero kid" You sighed and and sat up on your knees not able to look up at him. You just looked at the ball and thought about the hard work meant nothing.
It took you 5 minutes to stand up, still looking down. You were still in your own world as you made your way off the pitch. You then heard the clapping you finally managed to look up. To your surprise there were still many fans in the seats and all of them were starring at you, clapping. Giving you a standing ovation. You felt tears coming and shook your head as you hurried down the tunnel, Still hearing them chanting your name as you walk past your teammates who didn't look at you, City players, staff. You then felt a hand on your shoulder. You turned and it was Pep. You gave him a deflated look as he grabbed your head to stay at him "Do not let this defeat break you Earps. I have seen many Keepers but you. You are the future" After a nod he gave to you and patted your back with passion. You felt overwhelmed so much is going on. You just wanted to go to sleep and be alone. You didn't bother showering you just hurried out. Ignoring the press and went straight to your car and drove in the now raining city of London.
You felt your phone vibrate but was focusing on the road, it wasn't until you got into your driveway that you looked at your phone. You saw the notifications but you felt no interests in communicating with anyone
You got indoors and dropped your belongings on the couch before heading to the bathroom. You started to run your ice bath, you couldn't get rid of the feeling that was plaguing your mind and soul right now. Once the ice bath was ready. You striped off and slowly got in, feeling the shock of the cold run through your body. You breathed out heavily as you sunk into the water, only your head above water.
It was then, in that lonely room. The thoughts came
It's your fault
Your a failure
Dissapointment
Why can't you be like Mary
You will never get a call up
You let us down
Just quit.....
Elsewhere
"Bless him" Rachel daly would say as she watched Y/N laying down on the field starring at the ball. "I just want to hug him" Millie bright said pouting.
Mary didn't respond in the room. She is on international duty and the team were watching the game. Mary was heartbroken. She knew it was your dream to win the champions league but she never, ever saw you like this. The hyper man child that was always happy and was always there for her. Now had a face with no emotion as he starred at the ball. She wanted nothing more then to hug you in that moment. But she felt so helpless being in another country. She normally wouldn't worry, You would always get up and move on but that look you had sent shivers down her spine.
She thought back to how she felt being knocked out the champions league, Losing the finals of the world cup and being knocked out the nations league. She hated the pain she felt and she hated that you were in that place right now.
"You alright" She felt a hand on her shoulder, shaking her from her thoughts. She turned to see Lucy and Leah "Just worried about him" The duo gave a sad smile. "He will be fine, Its F/N. He never stops" L praised you, She met you years ago when Mary became a England international. You were very supportive of your sister so you crossed paths a lot with Lucy and other Lionesses. And Leah was a close friend of yours since you joined Arsenal. If there was one thing they learnt about you is that you shared your sister's passion and drive. Lucy saw that 'Don't stop' attitude she has in you and Leah sees the potential of you being a captain at Arsenal.
"I will back in a moment" Mary said uncharacteristically as she left the room in a hurry. Feeling the eyes of some of the girls watching her leave. She took out her phone and wasted no time in going to her contacts and looked up your name. She wondered what to type, She knew that you may need a rest to get your head straight but she also wants to let you know, you are not alone. She starts to draw comparison to her World Cup final loss and how it made her feel.
"Mary?" Mary turned to see Millie with a sad smile. She isn't surprised that Millie followed. There were close friends, she wouldn't be surprised if Millie was concerned about you, Millie practically became your sister from another mister. "Are you ok?" she felt the woman place a hand on her shoulder. Mary sighed "I just want him to know im proud of him." Millie patted her back "He knows that maz, Give him time, He only just lost. We both know what its like after we lose big games" Mary gave a sad smile and rested her head on Millies shoulder and she decided to text you and wait for you to reply.
One day past. Then two days. then a week.
Mary was filled with anxiety and worry. You weren't responding to her calls, texts, or nothing. She didn't know what to do. She had managed to get in touch with Ramsdale, who said you were sent home for a week to cool off. When asked what he meant. He explained.
During a training session, you couldn't help but be frustrated at the boys for how they blanked you and let you down that night.
So when you were practising penalties, you didn't give a shit about feelings
Ødegaard took his shot and you saved it
"Oh wow, you get it on target," you said sarcastically, making the blonde man confused at your attitude. Ramsdale waiting behind the net couldn't help but feel worried about you
Rice took his next. He sent his wide. The boys had a laugh at his embarrassment as he showed a smile to them, accepting the poor shot. "With that shooting, I'm surprised you're a pro," you said nonchalantly as you readjusted your gloves. Rice faced showed a frown. He knew you were pissed at him, but this made him uneasy. You were always one to for sorry for themselves for a minute and then move on to the next
"What's up with you, Earps?" Martin spoke up. You looked at him. "What's up with you lot? I played like shit yesterday, and now you guys can't give a score from a few feet out." Rice, Ramsdale, and Jesus, step in between you both as you both walked towards each other. "You need to show respect, Earps," You scoffed. "Don't misplace my criticism for respect dipshit".
From there, the whole team gathered around you two. Some love it, some feeling uncomfortable, but Arteta was furious. He sternly told you to go to his room. He practically had to follow you to the room
Once you sat down, looking out to the window. He stood facing you from his side of the desk. "I get you are frustrated with what happened, but this is a TEAM GAME. You show up and treat those players like family and have their backs-" You stood up feeling the anger boil over as your face turned red hot
"HAVE THIER FUCKING BACKS!? I WAS BASICALLY THE ONLY PERSON THAT KEPT US IN THAT GAME YESTERDAY! AND EVEN THEN WHEN THEY HAD PENALTIES THEY COULDNT EVEN MANAGE THAT FUCKING TASK" You let out with anger and venom. Areteta is looking at that side of you no one would believe existed. You deep breath and lowered your voice and looked at him leaning forward, placing your hands on the table. "But the one thing that really ticks me off. The looks they gave me, the disappointment, not even coming to comfort as I sat there at the goal. Family? Fucking he'll the city players gave me more attention after that game then them and you" You ranted. Arteta understood your frustration. He even tried to ignore your city comment. Seeming he had heard certain news that day. He signed. "I'm sorry about this situation, but it's clear we can't discuss this until you have cooled down.
For the next 2 weeks, you are suspended due to your actions of unprofessional actions. " You looked at him with a" Are you kidding me, voice. You wanted to say something but you just laughed in disabelif and threw your hands up "Fuck you, Fuck Arsenal, Fuck Football" you said leaving the room. I'm leaving Arteta alone, hoping you would cool off. He looked at a contact on his phone and debated a call to someone.
Mary was stressed as she drove down the road that leads to your house
Mary's hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, her thoughts racing as she navigated the familiar road leading to your house. It had been days since she last heard from you and despite all her messages and calls, you hadn't responded. She knew you were hurting, she has been here before and knows the journey of the pain. and the thought of you spiralling deeper into your own mind tore her apart.
She tried to stay calm, reminding herself that you'd always been resilient, but she couldn’t shake the image of you after the match your body laying on the pitch, staring at the ball . The look in your eyes haunted her.
Pulling up to your driveway, she parked and sat in the car for a moment, taking a deep breath. This wasn’t just any visit. This was her coming to be there for her little brother, the one who had always been her biggest supporter, her anchor in the darkest moments. Now it was her turn to be the anchor.
She stepped out of the car, the rain softly pattering against the ground. The cool air did little to ease the tightness in her chest. She walked to your door, hesitating only for a moment before knocking gently. She didn’t need to shout, didn’t need to force anything.
The door creaked open and there you were, standing with dishevelled hair, eyes dull and tired, showing you hadn't slept in days. Mary’s heart broke all over again. She could see the pain in your eyes, the same pain that mirrored her own after her World Cup final loss. She wanted to hug you, to comfort you, but she knew you weren’t ready for that yet.
“Hey,” she whispered softly, her voice trembling slightly. “Can I come in?”
You didn’t say anything at first, just stepped aside to let her in. She entered quietly, her eyes scanning your living room. It was quiet, almost too quiet, save for the sound of the rain outside. The atmosphere was suffocating, the weight of your grief hanging in the air.
You sat on the couch, head down, arms crossed, as if you were trying to protect yourself from everything. Mary sat next to you, close but not too close. She didn’t want to overwhelm you, but she couldn’t stand the silence any longer.
“Y/N I know this hurts. I know it feels like everything you worked for is slipping away, but you’re not alone in this. You’ve never been alone.”
You didn’t respond, your eyes still fixed on the floor and shuffled your feet.
“I know you feel like you failed. That you let people down. But listen to me, you didn’t. Not in the slightest,” she continued, her voice gentle but firm. “You did something incredible out there. You fought for every single moment. And I’m proud of you. You need to know that.”
Her words hung in the air, and for a split second, you looked up at her, your eyes searching her face as if looking for some kind of reassurance. But then you looked away, your hands gripping the fabric of your blanket
Mary sighed, her heart aching. She knew you needed time, but she couldn’t just sit by and watch you destroy yourself with guilt.
“I know it doesn’t seem like it now,” she continued, “but this is just one chapter of your story. And there’s so much more waiting for you. I know the pain feels like it’s never going to end, but it will. You’ll get through it, just like I did. We all have our moments where we fall short, but that doesn’t define us.”
A long silence passed between you two and Mary sat there, waiting, hoping you would speak. She didn’t push you, didn’t try to force anything. She knew how you worked, when you were ready to talk, you would. But she also knew how important it was to be there, even in silence.
After a long while, you finally spoke, your voice barely above a whisper. “I don’t know if I can do this anymore. I let everyone down. I let myself down. Maybe I’m not cut out for this…”
Mary’s heart shattered at those words. She could feel the weight of your pain in every syllable. But she wasn’t going to let you give up not on yourself, not on the dream you’d worked so hard for.
“Y/N, you are so much stronger than this. You’ve always been the fighter, the one who doesn’t back down. You’ve been through so much, and look at where you are. Look at everything you’ve achieved.”
Tears welled in your eyes, but you blinked them back, not wanting to show the vulnerability you felt.
“I just… I don’t know what to do,” you said, your voice breaking. “I thought I was ready. I thought I was good enough. But now… I just don’t feel like I am.”
Mary reached out then, gently placing her hand over yours. You didn’t pull away.
“You are more than good enough. You always have been. And you will bounce back from this. I believe in you. And I’m not going anywhere.”
There was a long pause before you finally spoke again, quieter this time. “I don’t know if I can face them again. The team. I feel like they’ve all moved on, and I’m stuck.”
Mary squeezed your hand reassuringly. “You don’t have to face them all at once. Take it one step at a time. And if you need me, I’m here. Always. But know this—you will heal. And when you do, you’ll come back stronger than ever.”
For the first time in days, you felt a small flicker of hope. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to remind you that maybe, just maybe, you could find your way out of the darkness. And Mary would be there, no matter how long it took.

why i hate sunflower (sunny x basil) - a rather unprofessional essay
spoilers for omori below
and also i'm not gonna tag this as hate because it's literally just the truth. cry about it.
respectfully, it's a horrible ship. i might just be saying that because i hate basil, but i just cannot see it ever being healthy. basil destroyed everybody's lives with what he did, and even if they decide to forgive him, what happened to them won't just be reversed. not to mention the codepedent/abusive aspect of the whole situation.
basil expects sunny to dedicate his entire life to him and his emotional well-being. you shouldn't be responsible for anyone's emotional well-being when you're fifteen years old except for your own.
even in the game, there is evidence of something codependent. basil can't function like a decent human being when sunny explains that he's going away. basil literally HURTS SUNNY to the point where he needs to be hospitalized in an attempt to make him stay. and you think that would work romantically? heck no.
yeah, they smile at each other at the end, but does that really mean anything? forgiveness is great, but it doesn't take back what happened and the effects it had. sunny will always remember when he tried to leave and got his eye taken out.
and the fact that sunny is so heavily traumatized because of what basil decided to do to his dead sister is just insane to me. he's always going to see that image. i get that basil had good intentions or whatever but intention doesn't equal effect. if i ran you over with my car, it doesn't matter that i was twelve or that it was an accident. you would still have to go to the hospital.
and when people say "but he was just a kid he didn't know any better!". if basil had the cognitive ability to think of doing that, he had to cognitive ability to stop, or AT LEAST to admit what he did. if he did, then hero wouldn't blame himself for years and years, aubrey wouldn't have been abandoned, and mari would have been respected after she died. what basil did was extreme disrespect to the dead and it gives me chills just thinking about it.
and he did it to sunny's SISTER.
i just don't see why you guys don't care more about that? that's a bit more than a little red flag that is like a red ocean.
end of story, sunflower is a horrible ship and i don't get why the fandom is so obsessed with it. it makes me sick just seeing it.
especially when this is such a beautiful story when you look at it from a friendship pov! why does everything have to be about romance and uwu little gay boys? i know damn well if basil was a girl nobody would be shipping him with sunny, you guys just want a gay male relationship to fixate on and infantilize because that's what toxic fandom people DO. but that's a digression.
anyway if you like sunflower you're a threat to society. womp womp go cry. or better yet stop shipping it that would be lovely.

Got bored, made an OMORI Kinsey scale. Mix of stuff known from canon, extrapolated from canon, and personal headcanons. More to the left is more attracted to the opposite sex, more to the right is more attracted to the same sex.
Some explanation for them below the cut
Headspace friends
Since Sunny gets to choose who his friends are in headspace, he often disregards what he knows about them and modifies them as needed.
The headspace friends, with Mari and Hero as an exception, were all designed to be infatuated with Omori and adore him and him alone deeply. As such, headspace Kel, Aubrey, and Basil are attracted to just Omori. However, they can stray from their protocol in some iterations.
Headspace Mari was designed to be with Hero, so she doesn't need to be attracted to anyone else. However, headspace Hero is in a unique position as both a headspace friend infatuated with Omori and intended to be with Mari, placing him smack-dab in the middle of bisexuality.
Since Omori is meant to be an idealised, socially accepted version of Sunny whom everyone adores, he was intended to be straight. However, with Sunny's struggle with his identity, Omori has very much been used to explore his attractions to the same gender, to the point where Omori himself has a male preference.
Lastly, Stranger should be exclusively homosexual as he is also a Basil and therefore subjected to being attracted to all things Sunny, but as he has more free will and he comes with the parts of Basil that Sunny has suppressed, a slight bit of bisexuality shines through that may rear its head once in a blue moon. Functionally gay.
Real world friends
Sunny, at the very least, has a viscerally negative association with the idea of being romantically involved with Aubrey. This can be interpreted as either not being attracted to just Aubrey, or not being attracted to women at all. But as every detail in a story has its function, and knowing Omocat's a bit of a fujo, the detail of his aversion to romance with Aubrey was most likely added to the game as an indicator that he's gay. He may never find the words to express this or define himself as gay, though, and go by vibes and feelings alone.
I like bisexual Basil because he deserves smooches from everyone. Slight male leaning, but not intensely.
Likewise with Aubrey, though she's a little more in the centre. Though she hasn't shown attraction or kinship that can be interpreted as romantic to any men in canon, I still like her as bisexual.
At this point in his life, Kel can best be described as a mostly straight but bicurious guy. However, as his life goes on and he gains more experience, he may migrate more towards the right as he strays from that image where the jock has a girlfriend.
Hero hasn't thought about love or sexuality since he was 15. In reality, he's probably slightly more centred, but after Mari, the very idea of starting a relationship with anyone makes him nervous.
Mari is a very simple case: she figured stuff out pretty early, but by the time she did, she already had caught herself a future husband and didn't date around. Slight male leaning.
Beta buddies
Rowan might be the most exclusively homosexual character on the chart. He owns his spot on there, and he's gonna either proudly and arrogantly embrace it or staunchly deny it without modifying any behaviour.
As for Omoriboy, while he will eventually come out on the exclusively gay side of the scale, he currently is dealing with a hefty dose of comphet.
(I don't know where to place Flower at all, hence why he's not on this chart. Every attempt to place him has made me go "but what about x?" Obviously likes Omoriboy, but also doesn't strike me as exclusively gay. Might be asexual?)
Sweetheart & co
Sweetheart is probably a centre bisexual because she has dated men and had no issue with the idea of dating women, albeit her own clones. However, since she has only ever volunteered relationships with men, I like the idea she has a sliiight preference towards male. She might just be so self-centred that she'll date anyone who inflates her ego.
I've put Spaceboy down as a balanced bisexual due to his infatuation with Sweetheart that just makes the idea of him seeking comfort with a man so much tastier. He doesn't really care about the gender of his partner per se, but Sweetheart scarred him, making him date more towards the male side.
And finally, Rococo I see as someone who thought he was bisexual but who's slowly concluding he's gay. Sweetheart was all he had, and he did genuinely love her, but maybe it was all due to his codependence. The grass seems greener on the other side.

Heroes who I think would give unsolicited "relationship advice" to Damian and Jon
JL, Titans, whoever, kind of x reader, kind of not, just a fun blurb because I had it in my brain
- - -
- Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
self proclaimed "expert", will give way too much information at once and will send the boys away with their hands over their ears going LALALLALAAL
- Green Lantern (Guy Gardner)
^these two fools think they know everything there is to know about love and... other things, Guy is no exception
- Plastic Man (Patrick O'Brian)
gives his "advice" then realizes how well that worked out for him in his own life...
- Booster Gold (Micheal Carter)
will throw an arm around both boys for an uncle approach, ready to "educate" the young men, just ends up taking a punch *or two
- Beast Boy (Garfield Logan)
will go into listing his many past flings and flames, but his "advice" doesnt really get anywhere and honestly everybody is just confused
- Starfire
gives a lore presentation about relationships from her home planet, sadly none of which can be applied to their situation
- Nightwing (Dick Grayson)
will bud in just to tease Damian lol
- Red Hood (Jason Todd)
will bud in, also just to tease Damian
- Green Arrow (Oliver Queen)
I think he would start off with some good points, but would end up lecturing and getting too personal
- Lobo
hero? antihero? not really a hero depending on writer? either way he 100% budges into the conversation and gives a speil about how to "get some"
- Oracle / Batgirl (Barbara Gordon)
will try to steer the conversation to a more productive route, but ends up over analyzing every single possibility in compatibility and relationship metrics
- Vixen (Mari McCabe)
tells the boys to be upfront and honest, inspiring them to be confident and self assured, and if their intended doesnt like that, too bad! get a new one

Hobie Brown x Reader
-Did you know there is a universe where Mary Jane died because she slept with Peter?- I tried to say it quietly to Hobie.
-What the hell?- Miles said. Most people in the room looked at me like I was a fish with legs except Miguel. He got used to my strange texts.
-Why are you staring at me like celebrity children at paparazzi? Do you know how many documents I see here every day about strange deaths of Spider-men and girls? You don't know how to joke. - I said and sipped my coffee. I sat down at my desk.
I'm Reader Acker. I have no powers and I am not the mastermind behind the operation. I'm Miguel's secretary. And you will think. Why does Miguel need a secretary when he has Layla? All things, documents and morning coffee for Miguel are not just about technology. I had a shitty life without a job, so when I discovered that our dear hero needed a secretary who would keep the secrets of the multiverse and other boring things, I immediately agreed. And you will once again ask how such a great mind as me got into such a position. Others did not see my genius in sarcasm, shit talking and gossip, but for our Migueś it was enough that I would work here for a long time and that I did not want to open up to people.
My desk is so comfortable. Ahhh. If I stay sober for a few more days, maybe I'll get a raise. I will buy a new expansion pack for The Sims 4.
-Reader!- Miles ran to my desk.
-Hello, Miles. What do you want? Love advice or a book called 'How to cope with Uncle Ben's death'? - I asked, smiling.
-I need documents about my earth.- he said, shaking.
-Relax. And what number is it? - I asked, looking for documents in the locker.
-1610. Thank you for your help.- he said. I slowly handed him his documents and took them at the last second.
-Hahaha! I was just making fun of you! Do you seriously think I'll give you these important documents for any reason? Haha! - I laughed and he crossed his arms.
-Please, Reader. I need it! - he begged me.
-And I need Pedro Pascal in my bed. We both can't have what we want. - I said, raising my arms.
-I'll get you a date with Hobie. - Desperate Miles suggested it to me.
-Yeah! Now we're talking seriously! Tell Hobie that there's a horny, sexy chick with big bimbos sitting at my desk who was asking about him. - I said and gave him these documents.
-But that would be a bit untrue.- said Miles, holding the briefcase. I stood up and put my finger to his mouth.
-Shhhhhh. You have a briefcase, so I have a figurine of Hobie's ex-girlfriend. Only better. Now go tell the news! - I almost slapped him on the butt, pushing him to the door.
-It's illegal!- he said, walking to the door.
-And what happened when your mother did that to you? Exactly. You see, I'm not getting any younger. Poor old Reader wants to know what it's like to experience another tsunami of excitement! - I said.
-You're 19 years old, Miles commented.
-So, go grab your pacifier and tell Hobie that I'm waiting for him here. - I looked in the mirror.
-But should I tell him that this sexy girl with bimbos is waiting for him, or are you? Because, you know, they're completely different people. - Miles joked.
-You know what? It's obvious that you have some kind of ADHD if you can't handle such an easy task. Just tell him I'm waiting for him here. - I said, waving my hand.
-But you can call him here yourself.- he said.
-Miles. Tell me. What's the point of me taking the first step into something that doesn't have a bed scene in it? Exactly. And now I say goodbye! - I said and Miles ran out of my office.
Where is Hobie? It's already been 10 minutes and he can come here in 2 seconds. What if he doesn't think I'm interesting enough for him? Or maybe that damn Miles didn't tell him? I will kill and crush! Wait! My watch, I forgot about it.
-Reader! 5 minutes ago there was a call for all Spider-men and women to catch Miles! - said Layla as I turned on the watch and put it on my wrist.
-That's bad…- I commented.
-Miles somehow found the code from the machine and is now in another universe! And you are the only person who knows and has all these codes… - said Layla suspiciously.
-Oh shit.- I said. I took a rope from the ceiling with a 'people holder' (I don't know how to spell it) and attached myself to it.
-Reader what are you doing?- Layla asked.
-Layla I knew it would come one day so this is my little insurance policy against such an event. I'm going on vacation until Miguel calms down and stops thinking that his canon moment is to kill me.- I said. I jumped out the window and started climbing down the building, attached to a rope.
-I'm sorry, Reader. We've got your locatio-- before Layla could finish, I took off my watch and thrown it off.
-I'm sorry, Layla.- I said and started lowering myself on the rope.
Suddenly the rope stopped working.
-What is it?- I looked up. Oh fuck. Pissed off, Miguel started pulling the rope up with me without trying too hard.
-Oh shit.- I said to myself. I looked down. I saw a portal opening several meters below me.
I looked up at the angry Miguel who had the usual 'Don't even think about it' written in his eyes.
-Adios tio!- I shouted and unfastened myself from the rope. I landed in another universe, or rather in someone's arms. I opened my eyes and…
-Hobie!- I shouted with joy.
-I wouldn't leave you to your fate for this fascist.-
Sorry, I haven't checked it, so there may be some mistakes or something.

6 Things superhero films, games and TV shows do right that the comics should start doing
I love DC and Marvel, and I always will because they shaped my childhood, my standards in comics and more. They also played a huge role in how I learned to draw because I never went to art school. Sailor Moon taught me how to draw women, Dragon Ball taught me how to draw men, Looney Toons and Mickey Mouse taught me how to draw anthropomorphic characters, and DC and Marvel taught me how to do everything else and add to all of the above to make it my own.
However, unlike what the song says, love is not blindness. As ironic as it is, the DC and Marvel comics have fallen from grace to the point where the heroes, plots and relationships are not recognizable anymore. I know characters evolve, change and grow up, but there is a limit especially in good storytelling. I also don't want to be hard on the comics because like I said, I still love them. What I will do instead is mention the top six things the DC, Marvel and other superhero films, games and TV shows nail that the comics should start doing in order to get better and I think they still can.
PS: I am aware that some superhero media that is not in comic format don't have the following qualities, but for the most part, they are.
1- Starting the story over and tell it right (hopefully) this time. - Usually, I am against rebooting and retconning because as a writer myself, I see it as cheating, but in the case of the superhero genre, it goes by a different set of rules. Namely, just as it always ends in an open fashion, it also begins so. With that said, it is perfectly fine to start the main version over if it is taking a wrong turn. In fact, that is one thing I learned to appreciate about the various Spider-Man and Batman cartoons especially when you take into account that they make an effort to not repeat the same mistakes. You don't have to breakup Mary Jane and Peter. You don't have to have Bruce Wayne wind up alone. You don't have to fridge Green Lantern's sweetheart. Most importantly, you don't have to stick with a broken story nobody likes including you. It's fiction not a documentary. You're more than allowed to start over and do things differently. That is how we got Harley Quinn, the version of Mr. Freeze we know now and an Aunt May who can hold her own.

2- The heroes can find love and have families. - Moreover, getting married and having kids does not mean the story is over. I can confirm that it's a new journey and adventure within itself. Plus, why shouldn't you be able to do something your good at AND have a family to come home to? I really appreciate that in a lot of recent TV shows especially, heroes are finally allowed to have successful love lives and families, and still be heroes. If anything, the fact that it is fictional reinforces that they should be allowed to have it all. We all need someone to love and supers are not the exception. Besides, love is a beautiful thing to see and should be painted in a positive light. The same with family because who are we without a family to back us up?
3- Tell happy or fun stories. - This is something I have been saying for a while now. Fantasy is supposed to be an escape from real world problem not be a constant reminder of them. With that said, the fact that superhero cartoons, films and games (especially with the uplifting side quests that allow to just be nice) are moments of levity are really appreciated. Just to give you an idea, I'm going to dare to admit something; I LOVE the episode "I've got Batman in my basement" from Batman the Animated Series because it's fun, cute and I liked seeing average people saving Batman for a change. It is also why I loved the Christmas episode from Justice League. Plus, even when heavy topics are addressed, they usually get dealt with the right way with the hero finding peace. For example, did you know that in the original X-Men cartoon from the 90s, Wolverine moving on from Jean and finding a true love of his own was on the table?
4- The superhero genre can be a a hybrid of any genre not just drama. - It is not uncommon for superhero tales to also serve as a vehicle for other genres too, but lately, comics especially have become type casted as only working with drama and that's depressing. Even action has fallen to the side and that is one of the most exciting parts about superheroes. Why not have superhero media that also serves as a sitcom, comedy, mystery or even a love story (think Lois and Clark)? Plus, not everyone likes soap operas, so having options is very appreciated. Heck, even the superhero shows that are educational like Transformers Rescue Bots and ones that are aimed for kids like Spidey and his Amazing Friends are breaths of fresh air.
5- Have fun and inspire. - The number one thing that attracts us to superheroes is how cool they are not seeing life perpetually punish them for being superheroes. Seeing superheroes be resourceful, creative and even have fun with their powers is fun. Plus, did you know that superhero movies inspired a lot of technology as we know it now namely cellphones? Moreover, superhero anime like Dragon Ball (yes, it fits the superhero genre) and the Batman series inspired people to go to the gym. Supers don't just represent the best version of ourselves, but also encourage us to believe in ourselves and better ourselves with hard work. Watchmen was the exception not the new trend all superhero tales should follow.
6- Passing the mantle down for good and with grace. - I love Steve Rogers, Barry Allen, Bruce Wayne, Peter Parker, Clark Kent and all the other heroes from my generation, but I accept that they are heroes of their time and not fit for the modern generation. Heck, I don't think they're fit for my son especially when he starts reading comics. And that is ok. Accepting that these heroes are old is the right thing to do and it's gracious to have them pass their mantles down with dignity. What is so bad about Steve Rogers being able to grow old with the love of his life while knowing there still is a badass Captain America? Or Peter Parker being able to happily marry Mary Jane and have a child with her while Miles becomes the only Spider-Man after long since proving he IS Spider-Man? That sounds like a good way to end a character's arc. Everyone's retirement should be happy and dignified especially the retirement of heroes. It is not a blaze of glory, but you know what? Blazes are overrated.
Anyway, this is all my opinion and things I would like to see in comics again. Do you agree or have some things you want to see more?
Thanks for reading and stay safe.

Full text of the story is below the cut. Thank you for reading!
With a heavy sigh, Aubrey stared down at the earrings Kel had just given to her. If she hadn’t had too much spiked eggnog at their annual holiday party, she would probably have had a better appreciation for them. She had never seen earrings in the shape of baseball bats before, and Kel had been so excited to give them to her. But… Aubrey sighed. Looking at them now made her chest grow tight and a lump form in the back of her throat. Even after all these years, was that really how Kel saw her? Was she always just going to be “bat girl”?
Aubrey supposed that there were certain things in life that a person could never really come back from and, if she had to guess, picking a fight with somebody in church with a nail bat was one of them. It was a wonder that she and Kel were even still friends after that, but it had been over a decade since then. She had changed. Her feelings towards Kel had also changed, but maybe she had been wrong to think that his feelings towards her had changed too. They still bickered and teased each other, but at the end of the day, she knew they cared about each other—at least as friends. It seemed wrong to hope for anything more than that, but that didn’t stop Aubrey from hoping, as much as she didn’t want to admit it… And that made it her fault—her fault she was irrationally upset over a pair of earrings, tipsy from too many glasses of spiked eggnog, and sitting alone in the cold on the deck watching the blinking icicle lights wondering if she’d be alone like this forever.
The idea of being alone had never used to bother her—or least she had pretended it didn’t, but then Sunny had gotten engaged, and, surprising as it was, it had gotten her wondering: would that ever happen for her and did she even want it to? She knew she wasn’t the only one. As happy as everyone was for Sunny, these big life events of friends had a way of making a person take a step back and wonder “what am I doing with my life?”
If Aubrey had to guess, Hero was likely the most affected. With the exception of possibly Sunny who was much more quiet about such things, Hero had the most domestic dreams of anyone in their group…or at least he had had them before Mari had passed away. In a rare moment of vulnerability, Hero had once told Aubrey that all of his dreams of settling down and having a family had died with Mari and he couldn’t even imagine that life for himself anymore, but Aubrey wasn’t sure that was entirely true—and not just because he had been sleep deprived and a little inebriated at the time he had told her.
Even so, he didn’t talk about it, and she certainly never brought it up, but it had been “the year of weddings” for Hero as many of his friends from college had all started settling down and it was clear it had taken its toll on him. Aubrey was sure that Hero had to be wondering “what am I doing with my life?” and “will this ever happen for me and do I even want it to?” more so than even she was. Perhaps he was completely desensitized to it by the time Sunny had announced his own engagement, but Aubrey doubted it. Hero had done what he always did—congratulate Sunny with a hug, pop a big bottle of champagne, enthusiastically tell him how happy, excited, and proud he was of him, and celebrate with him for hours. Then, he picked up multiple extra, extremely long shifts at the hospital in the following days. No one had seen him in two weeks—not even Kel.
Aubrey could tell Kel was a little worried about his brother, but he had been so busy himself that Aubrey wondered if he was just letting it go by necessity. Aubrey couldn’t be sure, but she wondered if Kel was also going through some sort of existential crisis or introspective evaluation of his life and his dreams for the future thanks to Sunny’s big news. Up until this point, she had never known if Kel even wanted to settle down one day. It was something they just never talked about, but ever since Sunny had gotten engaged, Kel had started saying things like “when I get married, I want to have a huge wedding with tons of people” or “when I get married, I want to have a buffet so people can just eat whenever they want” or “when I get married, I want to give everybody bubbles instead of rice because I think it’ll kinda hurt to get hit by rice.”
It was strange to hear Kel talk so nonchalantly about getting married one day. Aubrey supposed she should have expected it or at least expected that it was something he wanted, but what surprised even more was how it stung a little to imagine it, to imagine Kel settling down and spending the rest of his life with someone that wasn’t her. Aubrey sighed. But it wouldn’t be her…She was “bat girl.” She would always be “bat girl.”
Aubrey’s attempts to resign herself to this fact and pretend it didn’t bother her had all been complete and utter failures. It seemed that every time she even got close to a relationship with somebody else, she always found herself reaching for the phone to call Kel or thinking of a silly story he had told her recently or wishing he was there with her instead. Needless to say, none of these “almost-relationships” had gone anywhere, and after a certain point, Aubrey had to admit that she didn’t want them to. Kel was the person she wanted to call with happy news, the person she turned to whenever she was sad, the person she wanted to share everything with. She knew—no, she had known for a long time, that Kel was the one person she wanted to be with. Sunny’s engagement had just been the final nail in the coffin, forcing her to realize that not only did she want a relationship, but she wanted a relationship with Kel.
Letting out a heavy sigh, Aubrey bit her lip and stared down at the bat earrings. She knew that was never going to happen. She was too cold, too harsh with him—too “bat girl.”
She sighed again, shaking her head and burying her face in her hands. “What is wrong with me?”
Aubrey hadn’t realized she had said those words aloud until she heard a voice humming beside her. She jumped—practically dropping the earrings and the cup of eggnog she was holding. Calming herself with a deep breath, she turned to find Sunny taking a seat next to her on the deck with a twitch of a smile.
“Sunny, you can’t sneak up on people like that,” she sighed. Sunny nodded apologetically. Aubrey wondered how long he had been standing there, but she decided not to ask.
“Are you okay?” Sunny asked quietly with a slight tilt of his head. Aubrey’s face flushed, but she nodded, shrugging her shoulders.
“Yeah…I just needed some fresh air for a minute.”
Sunny blinked at her, and Aubrey fidgeted. He was always so unreadable, but if she had to guess, he probably saw through her lie. He was one of her best friends after all. Shifting uncomfortably in her seat, Aubrey decided to change the subject. “Congratulations again.”
Sunny’s face seemed to light up as he quietly mumbled with a bright smile, “Thank you.”
“Do the holidays feel any different now that you’re engaged?”
Sunny pursed his lips thoughtfully but shook his head. “Not really.”
“You’ve got a big year ahead of you though. Lots to look forward to with the wedding and everything. Must be nice…” Aubrey’s voice trailed, and she felt Sunny’s gentle hand on her shoulder.
“It’ll be you someday…” He paused, then quickly added. “If you want.”
Aubrey chuckled, but her face felt warm. Was she really so transparent? “I don’t know, Sunny. I’m not sure all that domestic stuff is for me.” Despite her attempts at a shaky laugh, she could tell from the look in Sunny’s face that it had not completely masked the twinge of sadness in her voice. “Can you imagine ‘nailbat girl’ settling down?”
“Yes.”
“Don’t be silly,” Aubrey snorted a shaky laugh, but she swallowed hard as she caught sight of those earrings. It seemed that Sunny had also caught sight of them—tilting his head curiously before he asked in his quiet and matter-of-fact way.
“Is this about Kel?”
With flushing cheeks, Aubrey choked, “What? No. Why would it be about—?”
She stopped abruptly, met with Sunny’s blinking eyes. There was no way he was going to believe anything she said except the truth, so she merely sighed—tightening her grip around those earrings. She swallowed hard, then quietly asked, “Does everybody know?”
“Kel doesn’t.”
Aubrey sighed. She supposed that was something at least—a small comfort given the circumstances, though she suspected that was only because Kel was oblivious or just didn’t want to see it.
“Good,” Aubrey mumbled. “I’ll try to be more subtle.”
“No.”
Aubrey’s brow furrowed, and she whipped around towards Sunny in surprise. It wasn’t like Sunny to argue or really even talk much at all. She tilted her head. “What do you mean ‘no’?”
“You should tell him.”
“Sunny,” Aubrey groaned with a somewhat affectionate sigh. “I know you mean well, but it’s never going to happen, so…” Her voice trailed off, and she ran her hand through her hair. Her head was starting to ache from the haze of alcohol reminding her exactly why she never drank. As her blurred vision came back into focus, she caught sight of the earrings again, and her insides twisted. “I’m just ‘bat girl,’ remember?”
“No,” Sunny repeated a little more forcefully though the look on his face was kind and gentle. He, somewhat awkwardly, patted her shoulder with his hand, making Aubrey chuckle breathily in spite of herself before Sunny’s mouth twitched into a slight, affectionate smile.
“You’re strong, but you’re soft too—kind. You really care about your friends, even if you don’t show it all the time…but you have shown it to me and to Hero too. You’re even soft with Basil sometimes.” He let out two heavier breaths which Aubrey knew meant he was chuckling lightly at the thought before he sighed. “But with Kel… I know you care about him, but…you don’t really show him that part of yourself as much.”
Aubrey could only blink at him. It was one of the longest speeches Sunny had ever spoken to her in one sitting, but even more than that, she knew it was all true. She loved her friends, but it had never been easy for her to be vulnerable—to be soft with them and with Kel most of all.
Sunny was right. She was more openly kind and affectionate with him or Hero or even Basil than she ever could be with Kel. Perhaps, she scared of opening up to him most of all because she knew that he was the one who could hurt her the most, because he was the one that she cared about the most. He was also the one who had left her behind.
Even all these years and all these apologies later, the weight of him leaving her alone and their friendship falling apart after Mari’s death hung heavily like a dark cloud over their relationship. She knew it wasn’t entirely Kel’s fault, and she wasn’t blameless herself. They had apologized to each other and tried to make amends for everything that had happened a very long time ago, and she didn’t hold it against him anymore. Still…she could feel herself gripping tightly onto the walls she built around her heart so she would never be hurt like that again. And even now when what she wanted more than anything else in the world was to open up to Kel and let him in, she couldn’t bring herself to do it.
“You really think I’m too cold to him…?” she asked quietly though she was sure she already knew the answer. “There’s not really anything I can do about that now, is there? I hit him with a nail bat in a church—there’s no coming back from that.”
“If Kel can forgive me and Basil, he can forgive you too.” Sunny paused with a slight smile. “But…that’s not really what I meant. I just meant…he’s probably afraid that if he asks you out, you’re going to say ‘no’… You’re one of his best friends…He wouldn’t want to risk messing that up unless he was sure you were interested.”
Aubrey scoffed with a snorted laugh. “You think Kel actually wants to date me?”
Sunny shrugged. “He thinks about you all the time.”
“You’re a mind reader now, Sunny?” Aubrey teased with the twitch of an affectionate smile, but Sunny just shrugged again and took a deep breath before he started singing, a little monotone but it got the point across.
“‘And Aubrey was her name…’”
As Sunny started humming what Aubrey could only presume was the rest of the song, her brow furrowed. “What?”
“Kel listens to this song all the time… Hero lent him the record. It’s a love song to a girl named Aubrey...” He paused then added, “It’s sad.”
“Sad?”
Sunny nodded and started singing quietly again, “‘For a love that wouldn't bloom…For the hearts that never played in tune.’”
Something panged in Aubrey’s chest. There was something hauntingly beautiful about it. The hearts that never played in tune…was that really her and Kel?
“It’s sad,” Sunny repeated, his face falling. “Whenever Kel would listen to it, I’d feel guilty for being so happy.”
“Oh Sunny…” Aubrey wrapped her arm around his shoulder and gave him a side hug. “You don’t have to feel guilty about that. We’re all really happy for you—Kel especially. He wouldn’t want you to feel guilty for being happy. Nobody wants that.” Aubrey sighed, staring down at her hands. “And you know, Kel might just like this song. It might not mean anything. I mean locking himself in his room and listening to sad music is kind of Hero’s thing, isn’t it?”
Sunny shrugged, but Aubrey was sure that having been both of their roommates he’d have to concede that she was right. “Hero has been listening to this one song recently too… It goes ‘She’s got a way about her…’”
Aubrey’s brow furrowed. “Is it love song?”
Sunny nodded. “A really pretty one.”
“Do you think…?”—she stopped—“Do you think he’s still thinking about Mari?”
With a tilt of his head, Sunny thoughtfully pursed his lips—his brow furrowing in concentration before he finally admitted, “I don’t know.”
“You know he has that one friend of his…” Aubrey tilted her head at Sunny with a knowing smile, sure he would know exactly who she was talking about. “I know it’s probably not ever going to happen, but I always thought they’d be really good together.” Aubrey paused as Sunny shot her a pointed look. “What? You don’t think so?”
Sunny blinked at her. “No, I think so… She’s wonderful. I’ve had multiple recurring dreams about their wedding… and only some of them were in Headspace.” He paused. “I added her there, and they’re married with three kids now.”
“What?”
“It was a beautiful wedding,” Sunny continued. He either didn’t hear her or didn’t acknowledge that he did. “Captain Spaceboy cried… so did Basil… He did all the flowers. And the ghost of Mari was there…She was really happy.” He paused and turned to look her squarely in the face. “But you just changed the subject. This isn’t about Hero.”
Aubrey huffed but affectionately rolled her eyes. “I don’t want to talk about me and Kel, Sunny. It’s not going to happen.”
“But that song…” Sunny began to protest, but Aubrey caught him off with another huff.
“I don’t care what songs Kel is listening to. It’s just a song. It doesn’t mean anything.” She tried her best to shrug it off, but even without that knowing look on Sunny’s face, she knew it didn’t sound convincing. “I mean…by that logic, Hero would have a girlfriend or want one, and as I much as I wish he did, I think that’s just about as likely as Kel wanting to date me.”
When Sunny didn’t respond, Aubrey’s eyes narrowed. Curiously, she tilted her head at him. Sunny, it seemed, had completely zoned out—staring intently at something over Aubrey’s shoulder.
“Do you hear that?” he asked. With a deep breath, Aubrey tried her best to focus. There was a low roar of chattering and the clanging of dishes coming from inside the house and some holiday music playing in the background. Before she could ask Sunny what specifically he was talking about he added, “The piano.”
Aubrey whipped around to follow Sunny’s line of vision through the window into the house. She couldn’t hold back her gasp or the breath that got caught in her throat as she stumbled in disbelief, “Hero?”
They hadn’t been expecting him. After all, he had told them a week ago that he had to work late tonight and likely wouldn’t be able to make it to the party, but there he was seated at the old piano in the living room which had been thoughtfully decorated by Basil with evergreen garlands and holly. His hands were gently gliding up and down the keys playing Christmas music for the first time in years.
While Hero had often played carols for them when they were younger, Aubrey couldn’t remember the last time she had heard him play piano at all. She had always just assumed it was one of those things he couldn’t bring himself to do without Mari. Sunny had told her that he knew Hero still played sometimes, particularly if he was asked or just to keep up a little bit of practice, but Aubrey couldn’t remember the last time she had actually seen Hero sit down at a piano and start playing on his own. More shocking than that, however, was the look on his face as he played. He kept glancing up over the top of the piano at something in the corner of the room that wasn’t visible from the window with a bright, beaming smile across his face. For the past decade, his smiles had been tight, metered, and bittersweet. They hadn’t ever reached his eyes, but now…Now he…
“He looks happy,” mumbled Sunny with an expression almost as stunned as Aubrey felt. As they glanced at each other, she knew they were thinking the same thing. Neither of them could remember the last time they had seen Hero look that happy. Something ached in Aubrey’s chest. She hadn’t realized how much she had missed his smile until she had seen it again after all these years. The look on Sunny’s face said he felt the same way.
“What do you think he’s…?” Aubrey began to ask though she wasn’t entirely sure how to word her question as she tilted her head, shifting and fidgeting trying to get a glimpse of whatever it was Hero was smiling at.
Her attention was suddenly pulled away from Hero to Kel who came bursting through the sliding door onto the deck with a bright smile on his face. Aubrey felt her face flush and a swooping sensation in the pit of her stomach as he met her eyes. Did his smile widen just a little when he did?
Despite her best attempts to convince herself she was just seeing things, her mind suddenly went blank—empty except for a wistful, lovesick ‘Oh…’ she felt deep in her bones. He had such a lovely smile, and his dark eyes were so warm and so kind…
When she heard Sunny somewhat playfully hum beside her, her blush deepened. She realized she was staring. With a sigh, her mind filled with a string of curses, mentally kicking herself. What was wrong with her today?
Swallowing hard, she looked away abruptly before Kel could see that embarrassing redness in her cheeks. Luckily it seemed he didn’t notice as he practically bounced up and down in excitement.
“Hey guys, guess what,” he exclaimed exuberantly. “Hero’s here, and he brought a girl with him!”
Sunny gasped, covering his gaping mouth with his hand as Aubrey’s eyes widened, blinking in disbelief. “No way… she mumbled, but Kel nodded.
“No seriously. It’s…pretty unbelievable. I mean he called first and asked if it was okay and I said ‘sure’, but I guess I didn’t really get it until he walked through the door with her and…”
“Someone we know?” interrupted Sunny, seemingly startling Kel. Sunny glanced at Aubrey who offered him a pensive but knowing smile. They both had someone specific in mind, and the toothy, lopsided grin that curved across Kel’s face as he nodded in response seemed to imply that he had been thinking of the same person.
“Yes,” he answered practically beaming at them, and it was all Aubrey could do not to race for the doorway back into the house. She took a few deep breaths to calm herself—gently reminding herself that they needed to play it cool and not make a big deal out of it. Unfortunately, it seemed Kel did not get the memo on this point and sped through the sliding doors.
As Aubrey turned to do the same, she felt Sunny’s hand reach out to stop her. It clutched onto hers with a gentle squeeze, and she turned to look at him perplexed. He didn’t say anything but the look on his face—the smile tugging at his lips said more than enough. Aubrey fidgeted, knowing exactly what Sunny was thinking, knowing how her words had so immediately come back to bite her.
“This doesn’t mean anything,” she huffed, but the bright red blush on her face implied otherwise.
*-*-*
Despite her continued insistence to the contrary, the truth was it did mean something. No, she didn’t think it was a sign from the universe that she needed to actively pursue Kel or confess to him, but she did decide that she should probably take Sunny’s advice and be a little softer and a little more openly affection with him. Over the next week, she made a conscious effort to treat Kel more like she might treat Sunny or Hero or even Basil. She tried her best to be more openly supportive and didn’t tease him for the stupid things that he did. That last one was growing increasingly difficult as Kel seemed to be doing more and more outlandishly ridiculous things as the week went on to the point where Aubrey almost wondered if he was acting that way on purpose. The thought made her insides twist. Had Sunny told him about their conversation?
Aubrey swallowed hard—pushing the thought away as she tried her best to focus on what Kel was saying now.
“Gosh, I can’t believe I had my sweater on backwards the whole time,” he laughed. “I am such a scatterbrain sometimes.”
Aubrey sighed, but she bit her lip and shrugged her shoulders, trying her best to reassure him. “That happens sometimes. It’s okay.”
She could have almost sworn she watched his brow furrow just barely before he mumbled, “Uh…okay, I guess.”
After a few moments of awkward silence, Kel asked, “So uh…you looking forward to the holidays?”
Aubrey nodded. “Yeah. It’ll be the first year I don’t have to work on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. I finally have some seniority around the hospital.”
“That’s awesome,” Kel replied with a smile. “Hero has to work Christmas Eve this year, but I think he has Christmas Day off. That’ll be the first time he’s off on a holiday, I think. It makes sense that doctors and nurses have to work on all the holidays, but it kind of stinks sometimes.”
Aubrey sighed. Kel did not have to say that again. While she loved her job as a nurse and found it very meaningful and rewarding, it was a bummer to have to work holidays. Up until a week ago, however, she would have almost sworn Hero felt the exact opposite. He was often purposefully picking up shifts on major holidays if he wasn’t working already, but now that he was bringing someone home for Christmas, Aubrey was sure he felt differently and was grateful to be off work on Christmas Day for the first time ever.
“You should stop by on Christmas, you know? Our extended family won’t in town until Día de Reyes this year, so it’ll just be us and you know my mom is going to make way too much food.” With a bright smile, Kel chuckled, but Aubrey sighed.
“I don’t know… I don’t want to impose.”
“You wouldn’t be imposing. Besides, Hero is bringing a girl home—don’t you want to see that?”
Aubrey sighed again. The honest answer was yes, but she didn’t think it was her place to barge into their family’s holiday celebrations.
“It’s all anybody’s been talking about. Heck, it’s all I’ve been talking about,” laughed Kel. “I mean it’s really big, right? Hero putting himself back out there.”
“Has he said anything to you about it or just…?” Aubrey’s voice trailed. She was trying her best not to pry.
“No. He’s really secretive or just—I dunno—shy or something, but she’s really great. I’ve…”—he paused, fidgeting with his hands—“honestly been hoping for this for a long time.”
“Me too,” Aubrey admitted. “So has Sunny. We used to talk about it all the time when we were away at college—hoping that the two of them would eventually go out. Sunny said he has actually had dreams about their wedding.”
Kel laughed, and the way his face lit up—bright and warm, made Aubrey’s face flush. She could only hope he didn’t notice. “That’s awesome! Too bad Sunny’ll be out of town this year and miss it. But that just means you have to come for Christmas now. Then you can tell Sunny all about it and how happy they are.”
“I…I don’t know…” Aubrey stumbled. Yes, she had been trying to be much nicer to Kel but agreeing to spend Christmas with him and his family, especially for the main purpose of prying into Hero’s business, seemed like a step too far. Kel, however, seemed determined, and he suddenly took her hands. Even though they were gloved, she was still so shocked by the gesture that she practically jumped backward in surprise.
“Please…” he whined, dragging the word out far longer than it needed to be.
Aubrey’s face blushed a deep red, but luckily, before she could say anything, it was their turn to order at the Burger Boys’ food truck they had been waiting in line at for the last twenty minutes. Aubrey sighed. She had not expected this walkthrough Christmas light display to be so busy, but she had to admit she was glad there were so many food vendors there. They had been waiting to eat until the rest of their friends arrived, but after Sunny, Basil, and Hero all had to cancel at the last minute, they decided to just eat without them.
“Yes, uh…hi!” Kel began to order. “I’d like two fish tacos, a spicy chicken burrito, and a chimichanga. And…whatever she wants.” As he turned towards Aubrey, she resisted the urge to press her palm to her forehead.
“Uh…” stumbled the food truck worker. “This is a Burger Boys. We only sell…uh…burgers here…”
“Wait…what? No way. I thought this was a Taco Time.” Kel laughed before motioning over his shoulder. “Oh that’s over there…my bad.”
Aubrey gritted her teeth. She had known Kel for most of her life. There was no way he was this stupid. Had her affection for him really blinded her this much?
Kel blinked as if waiting for her to tell him off for making them wait for twenty minutes in the wrong line or for her to tease him about getting the lines mixed up in the first place. And, sure, on another day she might have motioned to the big, glowing, neon sign that said “BURGERS” in bright red letters directly above their heads, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that that was the problem—that she had been too harsh with him all this time so instead she just shrugged her shoulders as Kel asked her, “Hey Aubrey, do you want burgers or tacos?”
Aubrey’s stomach rumbled, but she managed a tight smile. “Whatever you want, Kel.”
Kel blinked at her but ultimately, thankfully, decided, “Burgers are fine. We’re already here.”
When they got their order and finally sat down at one of the folding picnic tables to eat, Aubrey caught Kel staring at her with a curious expression. “Hey…Aubrey…is everything okay?”
“Yeah, everything’s fine,” she quickly replied. “Why?”
“No reason…” Kel mumbled turning his attention back to a packet of mustard he was trying to open on his hamburger. It quickly exploded all over his coat, sweater, and the table. “Shoot!” he muttered as he quickly tried to clean it up. Aubrey huffed—reaching up to wipe off the mustard that had splashed onto her cheek, but she held her tongue. “Sorry,” said Kel with an apologetic shrug of his shoulders.
“Don’t worry about it.”
Kel stopped wiping up the table and stared right at her. Keeping his eyes transfixed on her, he reached for his soda, took off the lid, and poured the whole thing directly onto his coat.
What the heck?
Unable to even process what had just happened, Aubrey could only blink at him in astonishment. Quite without thinking, she immediately reached out to hand him some napkins, but Kel swatted them away with his hands.
“Oh come on!” he exclaimed in exasperation. “What is wrong with you?”
“What’s wrong with me?” Aubrey shot back—the words tumbling out of her mouth before she could even think to stop them. “You just poured a whole soda on yourself.”
“Yes, I did, and you didn’t tell me off or laugh or tease me or say, ‘Gosh Kel you’re such a moron’ or ‘Why in the world would you do that?’ You’ve been acting weird all week. It’s freaking me out. I’ve been trying to do more and more ridiculous things hoping that I’d get some sort of normal response from you, but you’ve been acting…” He paused as if he couldn’t think of the right word before finally deciding on, “really weird.”
“Hold on…” interjected Aubrey. “You’ve been doing these things on purpose? So your backwards sweater and making us wait in the wrong line and trying to order tacos at a burger truck…and that thing with the mustard—?”
“Oh that was an accident, but the other ones were on purpose,” Kel admitted. Then, he sighed. “Look, Aubrey, are we fighting or something? ‘Cause whatever I did, I’m really sorry. Could we just hash it out like normal? You’ve been really quiet, and—I dunno—it just feels wrong.”
“You think we’re fighting? You think I’m mad at you?” Aubrey shook her head in disbelief. “I’ve been trying to be nice to you, you goofball.”
“Thank you! Yes!” exclaimed Kel, throwing up his hands. “I’m a goofball. It feels really good to hear you say that again.”
Aubrey sighed. Kel was unbelievable.
She shook her head and buried her face in her hands. “Kel…” her voice trailed. She didn’t know what she wanted to say. “This…isn’t a joke.”
Kel’s expression softened, and he reached across the table to take her hand. “So something is bothering you…” he said in a quiet voice.
With a sigh, Aubrey shrugged her shoulders.
“You want to talk about it?”
No, thought Aubrey, but she knew she didn’t get that option, so she took a deep breath. “I…I’ve just been really worried that I’m too harsh with you. We bicker and tease each other, but that doesn’t mean I don’t—”
She stopped abruptly. A flush of rose filled her cheeks as she pursed her lips. She thought of Sunny, engaged to be married and happier than she had seen him in a very long time, and she thought Hero putting himself back out there after all this time, even when they had all thought it was impossible. But mostly she thought of Kel—his warm kindness, his unwavering loyalty to his friends, the way he always tried to make her laugh whenever she was feeling down, and how he’d stop the world to make someone happy again, even if that someone was her. Maybe Sunny was right after all. He deserved to know.
“Kel…you’re one of the nicest people I know. You’re kind and cheerful and you always choose to see the best in people…and you go out of your way to try to make them happy—to make them laugh or smile, because that’s when you’re happiest too. You…have a really big heart and have been such an incredible friend to me. I feel like I don’t show that—or say that enough.”
As he tilted his head at her, Kel’s dark eyes widened in surprise. His jaw fell slack, but he somehow managed a breathy chuckle and a teasing, “Wow…tell me what you really think of me.”
Despite the blush in her cheeks, Aubrey let out a breathy chuckle before she somehow mustered the strength to look him in the eyes. “I think you’re really great, and I don’t want the fact that we bicker or tease each other sometimes to hide that. You’re…”—she paused and stared down at her hands again—“really important to me. I just wanted you to know.”
The next few, silent moments were some of the longest of Aubrey’s entire life. She couldn’t bring herself to look at Kel, let alone even begin to imagine what he must be thinking, but after what felt like an eternity, she felt the picnic table shift as Kel got up from his seat, walked over to her, and pulled her into a tight hug.
“Thank you,” he said. “That’s one of the nicest things you’ve ever said to me.”
“Not the nicest?” she quipped, her voice shaking as he pulled her against his chest. He didn’t answer that—just held her for a long time.
Even so, it wasn’t long enough before he let out a long and heavy sigh and whispered in a quiet, serious voice, “You know, don’t you?”
As he pulled away from her, Aubrey tilted her head at him in confusion. He looked flustered—almost guilty.
“This is exactly why I wasn’t going to tell you,” he began sheepishly rambling. “I didn’t want to make things weird, but I guess it was pretty obvious, huh?” He paused, chuckling as he rubbed the nape of his neck. “Look, I appreciate all of this Aubrey, but you don’t have to use the kid gloves with me. I’m okay. Like I said, I wasn’t even going to mention it. I mean, I know it’s not going to happen, and I didn’t want to make things awkward for you or anything so—”
“Kel.” Aubrey bit her lip. He looked almost relieved when she interrupted him. “I don’t…what do you think that I know?”
Kel paused and audibly swallowed, but he shrugged. “How I feel about you.”
The sincere look in his eyes made Aubrey’s face burn—her stomach erupting with butterflies, but somehow she still couldn’t believe it. “What? What do you mean?”
Unexpectedly, Kel’s face fell, and Aubrey’s insides twisted at the pained look in his eyes. The helplessness of his stumbling, “Please, Aubrey…That’s…not fair…just forget it,” was enough to make her heart ache.
Still, she somehow managed to say what was probably the worst possible thing she could have said at the moment, “No.”
“No?” choked Kel, and Aubrey’s face flushed.
“Sorry. I…I didn’t mean it like that,” she quickly added. “I just…I know I’m not hearing you. I…I can’t be. You’re…you’re the one that doesn’t…” She stopped. “I—I’m…just ‘bat girl.’ That’s why you got me those earrings, right? Because I’m the girl who picked a fight with you with a bat in a church, and there is no coming back from that.”
“Aubrey…” Kel sighed, almost as if he didn’t know what to say. “Yeah…you’re right—you are the girl who picked a fight with me with a bat in a church…and also in the park and at our secret hangout spot by the lake…”
His voice trailed, but he expression softened. “But you’re also the girl who sat out by that lake with me for hours the summer after we learned the truth and several years after that. The girl I could talk to about anything, even things that were too difficult to say to anyone else because I knew you’d never judge me. You’re the girl who I always want to make laugh because even though you don’t smile all that much, whenever you do, it feels like everything is going to be okay. You’re the girl who always teases me but I know you’ll always be there if I need you. The girl I always want to call if I have good news or bad news or any kind of news at all—the girl who is one of the best friends I’ve ever had, who I think about all the time—when I’m at work or on a run or listening to this song that makes me think of you…even when Basil drags me to some craft fair in the middle of nowhere and I find those earrings…”
Kel sighed. “That’s why I bought them—because I was thinking about you, because I’m always thinking about you…And not because you’re ‘bat girl’ but…because you’re Aubrey…and I…I uh…”
He stopped, but the light flush of red in his cheeks said everything that he couldn’t say. Aubrey swallowed hard. Her hands began to tremble. She had no idea what to say—what she even could say to follow up all of that.
“I’m pretty sure I’m the moron, here,” she teased with a light, self-deprecating chuckle. “I honestly had no idea you felt that way. This whole time I thought I was… that you were… that after everything…” She sighed heavily. She was completely butchering this, but thankfully, Kel cut her off with a playful laugh.
“Seriously? It was pretty obvious. Everybody knew about it. Heck, even Basil called me out on it at the Christmas party.”
“Really? Sunny called me out then too. Do you think they planned that?”
Kel shrugged. “Dunno. I mean, Hero mentioned it a couple of times too, so maybe they’re all in cahoots.”
“Well they didn’t show up today, so it wouldn’t surprise me.” Aubrey paused with an affectionate roll of her eyes. “Though to be fair, I think they were exaggerating…I mean I don’t think we were that obvious…” She twisted her mouth to one side. “I mean, you didn’t know how I felt about you either.”
“And how’s that?” teased Kel with a lopsided grin.
Aubrey’s face flushed, but when she looked up into Kel’s eyes, they were so kind, so affectionate, and so sincere that she realized… “You…you really don’t know?”
With a helpless shrug of his shoulders, Kel smiled just slightly at her, and she reached up to gently cup his face in her hands, then leaned forward and kissed him. It was a brush of their lips—they were in a public place after all, but it was enough to make Aubrey blush bright red.
When she pulled away from him, she mumbled, “Does…uh…that make it clear enough?”
“I’m not sure I really got that,” he quipped with a bright, bantering smile. “You wanna try again?”
“Not here,” she laughed, playfully patting his cheek as he leaned towards her again.
“How about when you come for Christmas?”
Aubrey stopped. “That was a real invitation? I thought it was one of your purposefully ridiculous things.”
“No, that was real, and the offer still stands if you want it.”
As Aubrey met Kel’s eyes, a smile spread across her face. She reached out and took his hand, giving it a gentle, affectionate squeeze. “I’d love to.”
Kel laughed before he playfully poked her in the arm. “But just one thing…you’re gonna have to leave your bat in the car.”
As Aubrey laughed in spite of herself and tried her best to stifle it, Kel winked at her. With an affectionate roll of her eyes, she playfully tapped him on the back of the head. He really could be such a moron sometimes, but he could also be a confidant, a pick-me-up on the worst day, her best friend, and the person that meant most to her in the world. She supposed Kel could be a lot of things, and as he had pointed out, she could be a lot of things too. But as Kel’s face softened into a warm, affection smile and he intertwined their fingers as they began to walk together through the Christmas lights, Aubrey knew there was one thing that she would never be again...and that was alone.

Depressed Hero :D

I usually think that Hero is still quite depressed even after everything (especially after good ending) but instead just bottles it up or puts up a facade!! I like your blog a lot since I share a lot of opinions and other Hero related things with you! (Except I put him with Bowen after good ending but ehhh)
Of course, I'm pretty sure Hero is a bad liar, so he's still noticeably closed off and more reserved, but he tries his best to at focusing on the group and keeping himself out of the spotlight!!
(Srry for the rant eheh ;♡;)
Hello there! Thank you so much for your ask and for sharing your lovely art with us! 💖 Poor depressed Hero 🥺💙 but a lovely drawing of him as always!!
Thank you also for the Hero discussion! Please don't ever feel like you have to apologize for ranting to us about Hero. We love to talk about him! (Thus the blog 😅😂).
It's always nice to hear that people like our blog and our portrayals and interpretations of Hero as characters, but it's also refreshing to know that people don't always agree with us on everything. Truthfully, even us mods disagree amongst ourselves on certain headcanons and interpretations of the characters sometimes (even Hero😅). One of the best parts of being in a fandom is getting to experience these different interpretations of the same characters that we all know and love, and so we always try to be very respectful of that. [Like we stated on pinned welcome post, not having Hero x Canon Character pairings here besides HeroMari and Hero x Brandi is really just a personal boundary for us related to character age since Hero is canonically a legal adult (This is especially important to us since, as we have also always stated in our welcome post, both of us mods are legal adults ourselves). We know that Mari and Brandi are both canonically Hero's age so we feel personally comfortable with those pairings, but when a character has an ambiguous age, we just personally don't feel comfortable entertaining any ships between them and Hero because he is canonically an adult and we don't know for sure how old that other character is. We have a lot of respect for people's right to ship what they want, and we know a lot of those NPCs could in fact be Hero's age but since we don't know for sure, we just don't feel comfortable with that. And as this is our blog, we do limit the ships here to fit our personal boundaries so we thank you for respecting that as well].
Anyways, onto your discussion points, we really agree with what you've said here about Hero struggling to express his feelings and bottling them up because he doesn't want to be in the spotlight or to be a burden on anyone. Hero has gone through a lot in his life, and it has left him with deep-seated internal pain that he can never really bring himself to express even to the people who love him. I (Acacia) was recently telling a friend of mine that Hero is like one of those fireproof lockboxes—you have to pry him open to get anything deep or vulnerable and especially to get his 100% honest opinion. He is always genuine and is far too sincere to be able to outright lie, but he will sugarcoat like no other and skirt around what he really feels and thinks because he doesn’t want to upset and burden anyone.
He also prefers to fade into the background and just quietly listen while other characters’ talk, so it’s kind of easy to forget he’s there sometimes (especially if it's in a story that isn't in his POV or otherwise isn't about him). That's something that makes writing Hero so emotionally exhausting because you really have to zoom in so close & so introspective on his feelings to really get a clear picture of what is actually going on in him. There's probably at least 3 degrees of separation from what he wants to say and what he actually says, so you really have to read between the lines with him & can't take anything that he says at face value.
Which isn't to say he is disingenuous or dishonest, he just hides his true feelings in favor of keeping the peace & trying not to hurt anyone. We absolutely agree with your point that Hero is a bad liar (probably because he's just so genuinely sincere), but he is better at burying his emotions than most people. While he isn't very deceptive (at least not in the traditional sense), he's so calm, docile, & unassuming that he doesn't show a lot of emotions as visibly obviously as someone who wears their heart on their sleeve (like Kel for instance) so it's easier for a lot of people to just take Hero's reassurances that "I'm fine" at face value. He's also really adept at avoiding talking about himself and will do all kinds of desperate mental gymnastics to deflect personal questions and turn the conversation around to someone else or to some other topic because exactly like you said in your ask, he never wants to be in the spotlight and would rather quietly take care of his friends and let them be the ones to shine instead.
It's an interesting dichotomy because on the one hand Hero is in a lot of pain and being able to share that and to be seen in that would be really good for him and his healing (and I think he knows that), but he purposely sabotages himself because on the other hand he doesn't want to be seen. He'd rather have people not know him at all if it meant that they would never have to worry about him. In a way, it's like he sort of gets lost in pretending to be "fake fine" and "fake happy" so he won't burden his friends and family when on the inside he really just feels numb, listless, and incredibly lonely--which even if it's self-inflicted is still a very sad and painful thing.
We are big believers that what will ultimately help Hero to heal most of all is allowing himself to be vulnerable and to be real instead of pretending to be perfect and to be "fine" all the time.
Thank you again for the ask. Please feel free to stop by any time to share your Hero thoughts. Take care 💙
#thank you so much for writing into our blog! Please feel free to stop by anytime!#thank you for sharing your art as well! It's lovely 💙#answered asks#(mini) hero character analysis

GOSH U ARE SO SO RIGHT!!! extremely based honestly
my opinions on ships between the main 4 are similar to yours, except im a little more aubrey centric since shes my favorite character out of the bunch, with the second being kel and the third being hero (basically all of the “b” cast, who weren’t directly involved in the recital incident 🥲). altho, kelbrey is obviously top priority and like you, i just always come back to it! for something that’s more “controversial” in the fandom, it’s such a reliably amazing ship—when its comforting, it’s soooo so comforting. seriously, the kelbrey fluff just hits different than those of any other ships imo. my second favorite ship is probably the polyamorous one between kel, basil, and aubrey because i can never get enough of their Punk Girl Who Can Totally Beat You Up (but wont, unless heavily provoked) x Sunshine Guy Who Is Hilarious and Always Ends Up Being So Endearing It’s Charming x Soft Dude Who Has Been Through So Much But Still Ends Up Being A Sweet, Kind Person, Somehow dynamic that is SO UNDERRATED! Especially when you realize that they all only really have eachother after sunny moves and hero goes back to college (which just opens up almost endless kelbrey, photobomb and cactiflower opportunities for reconciliation, love, angst and general amazing stuff to think about imo) :)
i also love adding on kel to sunburn because i think it just makes it cuter™️. hehe kel is just so bubbly and fun and is such a sweetheart that he makes anyone who he’s shipped with happy and its SO CUTE
if im being honest, i never really thought about cactiflower that much. it has always been the most underrated ship of the main cast in my opinion, and maybe thats why i never tried it out! but as i think about it, basil being so soft and sweet could always use another sweet guy who just wants the best for him. they would just be so easy and loving together and as i think about it i think i become a fan!!!!
and with heromari, i always just shipped it along with the rest of the fandom. honestly, i dont care for the ships with mari and hero and other characters (such as the bread twins or whatever) 😅
this might be weird, but i also love the trope of jealous characters. its just so interesting to me to see maybe a normally easygoing character or a normally confident character become suspicious, hotheaded and protective over a lover (or even a friend!) . i LOVE the idea with crowley jealousy with aziraphale, with that whole “naked man friend” joke that just itched my brain in the right way. i see some people write aus of aziraphale breaking up with gabriel and then dating crowley, and i LOVE the jealous crowley factor in that context, but i gotta say i could never imagine gabriel and aziraphale dating outside of that. its good for plot convenience but yeesh NO THANK U tbh
i love jealous aubrey too (and jealous kel, but i think of that way less because i think its just less common in fics). i love imagining them to songs together, and some of my favorite stories i make up in my head are the ones where kel dates someone like cris (cris because she looks a lot like aubrey, so extra angst points >:), and because she generally would seem like a good option for kel to date if they didn’t radiate so much friend energy due to how similar they are) and aubrey, who is maybe an ex of kel OR just an admirer posing as a friend is jealouuuuus. not necessarily even mad at cris and she doesnt have a good REASON for being annoyed at kel so shes just bitterly thinking “he’s just trying to replace me and it won’t work”
(^^also, if ur a taylor swift fan, “is it over now” is a PERFECT song to imagine with this storyline :) i know some people arent tho, so no pressure lol)
GAHHHHH U LIKE GOOD OMENS AND ARE A HUGE KELBREY FAN I LIKE GOOD OMENS AND AM A HUGE KELBREY FAN LETS BE FRIENDS PLEASE :D

Yandere Omori HCs - Omori
i had a few ideas for him before this ask got sent so this is exciting!
old draft might not be as good as i remember (this def isn’t finished but i just don’t have anything left)
[yandere Omori x reader]
-Omori is younger than Sunny and that shows through his maturity in these situations
-that’s especially worse since this is his own personal world
-he’ll still never speak, no matter how close you and Omori become
-so that means that you’ll just have to see whether he’s pouting or stoic to know how he’s feeling
-he will pout a lot; when Basil takes a photo of you, when Hero cooks for you, when you play tetherball with Berly
-when he’s really jealous he’ll pull you away but Omori probably wouldn’t start a fight
-despite being more childish than Sunny, he’ll still want the Headspace to be a safe space for himself so he’ll try to think positively about it
-but if it becomes too much then your friends will suddenly become enemies in Omori’s way, and once him and his friends take care of them then that’s that and you most likely won’t hear from them again
-i personally think that he can’t keep you in the white space with him but he really wants you to
-now that’s the dream
-just you and Omori sitting in the whitespace; drawing, playing with Mewo, just talking endlessly
-there would be no reason for anything else, he doesn’t care about the rest of the Headspace, he doesn’t care about his friends or adventures
-he’s happy here and he doesn’t care about anything else
-but that just isn’t possible, it’s almost pathetic that even his dreams have limits
-the whitespace was already the most soulless and depressing place in the Headspace and now it’s even worse
-and so Omori loves keeping you close to him when he can finally leave the whitespace
-whenever everyone is on an adventure, you’ll be the person who’s right next to him, no matter who the leader is
-and maybe sometimes just waiting at the picnic basket
-even though he knows that it would be safer for you to be at the picnic basket with Mari, he’ll just do what he prefers which is keeping you with him
-he’s very confident in his own ability to fight (maybe too confident) and is sure that nothing bad will happen because he’s there to protect you
-when you’re with the gang exploring the Headspace, he’s usually taking you to places that’ll impress you
-and he’ll be extremely cruel and swift to any enemies that try to attack the both of you
-honestly, fighting enemies might be the only reason he’d consider still bringing along his other friends
-but other than that, you aren’t going to be seeing much of them
-even when you’re resting in Neighbor’s Room, it feels like all you’re ever doing is waiting for Omori to come out and play and will hardly ever talk with the others
-it’s not like you aren’t on good terms with them
-even if Aubrey is jealous, she doesn’t hate you at all, you just never have any reason to talk to any of them
-the only way they’ll fully disappear is if Sunny gets extremely upset
-he’ll want to shut everything else out and just keep you close to him
-and Omori probably won’t see his old friends ever again
-that change was a permanent one, so you’ll find yourself only hanging around Omori for as long as the headspace exists
-even as a figment of Sunny’s imagination, you’ll still suspect something
-it’s not like it matters though, there isn’t anything that you can do even if you hate Omori
-of course, if anything absolutely tragic happens to Sunny, the same thing will happen in the game except you’re Basil
-the only problem is that he basically has no moral support
-he doesn’t have any Headspace friends and he doesn’t have any friends in Faraway either
-Headspace you was basically all he had but no that you’re gone it’s just non-stop searching for you
-he’s unnecessarily brutal, not letting anything in his way stop him
-on the bright side, you help him get over his fears relatively quickly
-on the not so bright side, Sunny will now rarely leave his bed
-even before, he still got up to eat or walk around his house
-but now whenever he wakes up, he’s basically just laying in his bed waiting until he passes out again
-the only thing that can get him up is if there’s a chance that he can see the real you again
-and with you back, Omori can feel at peace again

Just Like Old Times | Post NWH Series P.3
Contains spoilers for Spider-Man NWH
Read previous series first
Catch up parts 1 & 2 -> Series Masterlist | Main Marvel Masterlist
Series pairings & characters: Tobey!Peter Parker x female!reader/ Black Cat (romantic), Benny Parker OC, Harry Parker, OC, Mary Jane Watson x John Jameson, Gwen Stacy, J. Jonah Jameson.
Content Warnings: mentions of flighting, blood & violence, harassment towards a woman. Profanity. Flirtatious banter & sexual tension (nothing explicit except some small grinding at one point and implications to sex) so slight nsfw. Overall fluff (writing them makes me soft), kissing, mentions of past pregnancy. Slight canon divergence | female reader (she/her)
Ch. 3 Premise: It was a quiet night on patrol for Peter Parker—but once you use the word quiet to describe something then all hell breaks loose. The vigilante finds himself in a pickle, but with the help of a certain long retired Cat it’s as if time hadn’t even passed since the last the duo last kept the streets of New York safe from harms way.
Note: THE CAT IS BACK. This is part 3 of my post NWH series following the events of my previous series. Link above to catch up before reading this chapter. This diverges canon slightly and mentions events from the Raimi trilogy. So in the comics it’s Black Cat who loves Spider-Man more so than Peter, and MJ/Gwen are the ones who love Peter for him, but for the sake of this story and the plot I’m going for I’m making it opposite with Y/n & MJ. When I get to writing the prequel then it will have more depth, but this mentions it so I wanted to warn y’all.
____________
They say once you say once it’s quiet night then you’ll find chaos unfolding soon after. New York was rarely quiet, so the fact tonight it was rather slow had Peter Parker a little on edge. Something would happen soon.
The masked vigilante was perched on one of the many buildings overlooking the city streets. After kissing Y/n goodbye after the boys were in bed, he suited up and went to work.
“Where do you think you’re going?” She had stopped him before he could climb out the window. It was pushing ten o’clock and it was usually the time he left to go on patrol.
He looked a little startled, half his body hanging out the widow while she started at him with her arms crossed. “Uhhh,” he glanced at his suit “I’m heading out?” Her lips curled, moving slowly toward him like predator on prey.
“Without saying goodbye?” She tilted her head. “Without giving me a kiss?”
He dropped his head—realizing his mistake. She was teasing him and he knew that, but just her manners were enough to fluster him.“Ahh sorry. I-I didn’t wanna bother you, honey. You were busy working on the reports—.”
Y/n giggled, bringing a hand to his chin to make him look back her. Her eyes soften, looking at him with pride and love making him melt under her touch. “You know how I get, spider. I don’t care if you interrupt me while I work—I need to always see you before you go in case its the last time I do.” Her voice went a little low, causing his heart to sped up a bit.
Peter grabbed her hand that was under her chin, kissing her knuckles and looking at her with promise. “You know I’ll always come back to you, Y/n. Can’t leave the cat without her spider now, now can I?”
“You’re damn right,” she ends her words by bringing his lips to hers. She was careful not to push against him, otherwise he could lose balance on the windowsill. His one arm went to her waist, holding Y/n against him while he kissed her back with as much enthusiasm. Her hand caressed his cheek, and after several seconds she pulled away—gazing into his eyes. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” he kissed her again. “I’ll be back before you wake in the morning.”
She smirked at him, almost mischievously but didn’t think to question it after she said, “Now go be a hero.” With one last kiss he was out the window and swinging through the air.
Now just after midnight Peter was looking down the streets—eyes out for anything out of the ordinary. There were a few police chases, a guy robbing a liquor store and an accident on first street. Not much compared to a typical Thursday night.
About twenty minutes he sat before commotion filled his ears. Spidey-senses started to tingle and Peter was off swinging through the air in the direction of the sounds. The wind breezed passed him and the sounds got louder before he cut the corner and saw the scene below.
There was a group of three guys running with bags in their hands with sirens blasting from the jewelry store they had just robbed. Peter swung forward, intercepting the trio when they crossed into a back alley. As he went downward Peter extended his legs and kicked the one making him collide with the dumpster. It caused the other two to stop running, fear in their eyes. “It’s the spider-guy! Go!”
After webbing the one man down for the cops to find Peter was on his feet chasing the other robbers. They didn’t get far for the vigilante and Peter shot webs to bring them back making the bags fall from their grip. They landed on the floor in front of him with a huff, before one guy removed a knife from his pocket and started swinging at Peter.
Peter dodged his puches—landing several in the guys face, but was unexpectedly tackled to the side by the second dude. He hit the ground with a *thump* grunting by the sudden impact. The knife came down on him, but Peter shot a web to remove it from his hand causing it to fall several feet away.
A punch went to his stomach, near his now healed would from the week prior—making the man wince. Peter pushed the guy off him, flipping back to his feet to kick him into the wall. When he turned to the last guy after webbing up the other, he was surprised to see he was already down. Being strung up by the legs from a rope.
An all too familiar rope.
Peter tilted his head before laughter from above filled his ears. It’s as coming from the rooftop and when he found no one looking down he quickly shot a web to pull him up. He landed in a crouching position, already knowing who was waiting for him somewhere on the roof, but still couldn’t see her.
“I know you’re here, trouble.” He called out, strolling past discarded bins until he was at the brick wall connecting the two buildings together. There was another giggle, and he spun around to face her but she again was no where in sight. Suddenly there was a voice next to his ear.
“I like watching you.” A sensual voice said, and Peter’s head turned to the side—eyes lifting slightly. There, lying on the roof of the next building in a cat-like position and staring down at him from behind the familiar tiny mask, was Y/n. His wife and former costumed anti-hero—decked in her new Black Cat attire she donned in the alternate world. Y/n was smirking at him, eyes twinkling from the moonlight shining down on her. “Just like old times.”
Peter placed his hands on his hips, head shaking slightly. “Wasn’t expecting to see you, Cat.” She giggled, making him take a step forward so he was just barely below her. “Couldn’t wait to get back in action?” He watches Y/n lean up before swinging her legs around so they were hanging off the edge.
“I told you, Spider.” She drops down into his awaiting arms, his hands going on her back while her legs loosely wrapped around his waist. She leans in so she could brush her nose against his covered one, like a cat would to its owner. “Being in little spiders world had me think a lot about our glory days. The cat wanted to come out from her slumber.” Y/n unwraps her legs, boots barely touching the floor though her arms remain around his neck. “Don’t you just miss this?”
Peter is biting his lip beneath the mask, trying to stop himself from smirking even though she wouldn’t see it. “There’s a lot I miss,” he tells her honestly. “We had a lot of fun back then. Just the two of us—late nights on patrol while the cops both hate and love us,” she laughed at that. “It was a great time—but we still have fun now, Cat.” His hand goes to tangle in her loose hair, happy she didn’t pin it back this time.
“I know,” she hums, smiling up at him. “I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”
The reason she had left the whole crime fighting behind after switching sides was cause she got pregnant. It was a hard time for the two when she did. They didn’t know if the relationship would work—especially after Peters actions from the symbiote, his conflicting feelings about Mj not to mention using Gwen to make Y/n jealous, his anger at her when she helped him and Harry fight Flint & Eddie despite knowing she was pregnant, and then Harry dying.
It was a lot for the two. And Y/n wasn’t sure if they would ever overcome the obstacles. They were not exactly together during her whole pregnancy because she wanted Peter to figure out who and what he wanted—and she needed time from him to think, but he still supported her. He gave her the space she asked for while still being there in regards to the baby—which became babies when they discovered she was having twins.
It was a long eight months.
During that time Peter had a lot of time to think. Sort out his feelings and realize Mjs’ love for him stemmed from him being Spider-Man, whereas Y/n had fell in love with Peter as Peter Parker. When the two had met as their aliases—not knowing who they really were—Y/n felt herself becoming attracted to Spider-Man because he reminded her of Peter, unaware it was him along.
And the same was for Peter. He had met Y/n formally the day he got bitten—despite knowing she was friends with Harry and had graduated a year before him. She had been an intern with Norman at Oscorp before he referenced her to go work with Otto, and was present in the lab the day Midtown seniors were touring the facility. Recognizing Peter—and always finding him cute when they would pass in the hallways at school—she went up to him when he was talking with Harry.
He found her absolutely beautiful. They didn’t see each other after that and would be almost a year later before they were reacquainted. Peter went on to have a small romance with Mj before breaking up, shortly later he and Y/n became closer friends and he met the Black Cat—where something about her had reminded him of Y/n. The confidence, the intellect, the playfulness. He couldn’t see her face behind the mask nor did he recognize the white wig concealing her natural hair, but just the way she held herself made him attracted to her.
So when both of their identities were exposed after Otto kidnapped Y/n, it was though the missing pieces had fallen together. They both realized why they were attracted to their alter egos so much. Peter was falling for Black Cat because she was Y/n, and Y/n grew feelings for Spider-Man, because he was Peter. There was a mutual love forming and peace.
But then Mj kept trying to get Peter back—despite being engaged, and the symbiote came along.
When those events happened Peter honestly believed he lost her forever. Harry was gone and Mj was pushing her wedding month by month in hopes Peter would come around—playing with his feelings. He had had enough and the news Y/n was pregnant gave him hope. There was also the fact Aunt May threatened to beat him with her cane if he didn’t get his act together.
Peter made things clear with Mj—cutting her out of his life and he vowed to make things up with Y/n— to be there for their child.
But she needed time and space, which he gave her. So when eight months flew by and they were holding their baby boys in the hospital room, the look on Y/ns face as she smiled to Peter indicated she’d forgiven him. He had another chance. Things needed to be taken slow and there was no way he was going to screw it up again.
“What’s going on in that head of your, trouble?” Peters voice shook Y/n from her thoughts. She hadn’t realized she had just been staring at him for a good minute—where he had lifted his mask—while her mind wondered back to all those years when they were just a Cat and Spider.
She brushed her nose against his once more. “Just thinking,” she whispered against his now uncovered lips. “About us—about everything.”
Peter held her closer, thumb trailing along her suit. “We’ve come a long way. Haven’t we, Cat?” He watched Y/ns eyes light up, sparkling even more.
“It’s been quite the ride, Spider.” She giggled, pulling away and brushing past him with her hand trailing over his chest. Y/n strutted toward the opposite end of the room so she could overlook the streets. The city was full of life though it was nearing 1 in the morning, and it would be any moment before some drama would happen.
Y/n honestly couldn’t wait to get back into action with her Spider.
Speaking of spider, Peters had came behind her before crouching down right next to her. She followed his movements—going in a cat-like position, eyes scanning the ground for anyone causing trouble. Resting her head on his shoulder, Y/n thought aloud. “Thanks for getting my good side for the front cover.”
She laughed when Peter groaned, his dropping. The man knew exactly what she was referring to. The photos he had of Y/n from the morning the city saw Spider-Man chasing Black Cat were all blurry and hadn’t really captured a clear image of her face. However there were two photos that were feasible to put on cover—one of which was a little to close up for his liking where one could just barely make out the side of her profile, while the other was a behind shot completely covering her face from view.
It wasn’t a hard choice to make.
“I knew you had a thing for my ass, Parker—especially in the suit. But I didn’t think you’d broadcast it for the entire world.”
“You’re never gonna let me live this down are you?” He turned to her, seeing how she was smiling cheeky in amusement. The shake of her head made him chuckle. He turned back to the streets while Y/n trailed her hand up his back—tracing some of the lines with her gloved fingertips. The sound of police sirens filled their ears, Peter smirking under the mask and turning to his wife who was already mirroring his expression. “Ready for some trouble?”
Y/n lifts her head off his shoulder, perseverance in her gaze. “I like when there’s trouble.” Peter sent her a wink, hand coming up to bring down his mask.
“Quiet as a cat.”
“Sneaky as a spider.”
By three am, the two had successfully stopped three robberies, two car thief’s, and a guy harassing a young woman. That one Y/n had dibs on—not caring if she had caused the guy too much harm. She snuck her way above the alley he had cornered the girl in, and dropped down behind him—quiet as a cat—and before the man could blink he was thrown into a brick wall.
Y/n used her grappling hook to lift herself so she could use the brick wall as a push off and swing the guy down to his back. He hit the ground hard with a loud grunt. When he realized who was on top of him he about screamed. “Holy shit, you’re Black Cat—-.” His mouth was muffled at the last word after it was webbed shut.
Peter swung down, while Y/n pushed off the guy forming a front walk over until she was upright. Her eyes were in disgust at the man, grabbing him roughly by his jacket to lift him up. “Like harassing young girls, don’t you?” His mumbles were incoherent, eyes full of fear seeing her and Spider-Man in front of him. Y/n took another grappling device, strapping it on his waist while Peter webbed his hands and ankles. “This better be your hint to never do it again.”
The hook shot up and mounted on the gutter above, the man shrieking when he was lifted in the air. Y/n just rolled her eyes as her struggled against the webbing and rope—focusing her attention on the shaking girl beside the dumpster. “Are you okay, hun?” Her voice went from menacing to gentle when she addressed her.
The young woman’s eyes were wide, clutching to her purse to hug herself. She manages to nod weakly, bearing the two looks of gratitude. “Y-Yes. Th-thank you—so much. T-Thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” Peter tells her softly. “Better get home now—and stay safe.” The young woman nods, thanking them again before running out of the alley. They leave the man strapped up by the rope for the police—hearing the sirens in the distance, and Peter grabs Y/n by her waist before shooting a web to the top of the building.
Once on the roof, they run a few rooftops over till they are a good distance away—seeing the red and blue flashes light up where the alley was. When they finally stop, Y/n lets out a breath—clapping her hands together, “Phew, man it feels nice to be back.”
A giggle leaves her when Peters arms are around her waist from behind, pulling her to his chest. “Just like old times, eh?” His unmasked face goes to her neck, taking in her aroma which was a mix of her perfume that he loved with sweat from all the action they had endured through the night. Y/ns hand comes up to card her fingers in his hair while she leaned into his chest.
“Can’t believe I waited so long—you got to have all the fun,” she teases, tilting her head when he placed a kiss to her hot skin.
“You were raising two babies, Cat,” he mumbles pressing more kisses to her neck. “I think the citizens of New York would understand why you took a hiatus—not that they would ever know.” He groans when she bushes her backside against him. The thin material of their suits leaving nothing to the imagination. “Y/n,” he warns, lifting his head to give her a look of ‘Don’t start something you know we can’t finish just yet.’
“What?” she says innocently, doing the movement again and smirking when she feels his reaction beneath her. “You used to love it.”She was so referencing the nights she used to work him up on patrol so when they’d get home it would be a good time to relieve all the stress pent up.
“Not saying I don’t,” his hands go to her hips, holding her firmly. She pouts and he squeezes slightly to warn her. “But if you keep it up I’m not gonna last. And we’re in public—can’t have us getting caught and arrested for that, trouble.”
“That didn’t stop you before—.”
“Y/n….”
She huffs but smirks nonetheless. “Fine,” her tone is dramatic, but becomes playful again. “As long as you make it up to me, Spider.” Peter chuckles, leaning forward to kiss her lips but pulling away before she could try and bit his lip like she usually did to get him worked up.
“Wouldn’t dream of anything else, Cat.”
Y/n smiles, turning around so she could face him and bring the man into another kiss when sirens ring out in the night. They both turn to see flashing red and blue speeding down towards a racing car a street away. The cars turned and started speeding out of view—the couple turning to each other with mirrored gazes of ‘Time to go to work.’
Y/n pulls down Peters mask, but before giving him one last kiss. “The city that never sleeps huh, spider?”
“Just like old times.”

i don’t know if i really like any of the omori ships except for mari x hero
idk i just don’t get why we have to make everything romantic
there’s so much pure friendship and it’s so beautiful
i don’t really care that basil thought that sunny had a crush on aubrey i don’t really give a fuck
i love them all being the best of friends without romance being seen as the pinnacle of a relationship between two people.
is that controversial?

Taking a Chance
Part 8
Pairings: Marcus Pike x f!reader
Warnings: Angst, cursing, premature birth, head injury, mentions of blood, hospitalisation, fluff.
Summary: After an amazing night with Marcus you discover you’re pregnant. What happens when you go to tell him and another women opens his door?!
Comments and reblogs really appreciated 🥰

“Please someone, help!”
People rushed into the stairwell, gasps and screams could be heard at the sight of you laying unconscious, a pool of blood beside your head. Theresa was shaking, crying about how she found you like that. An ambulance was quickly called and you were brought to hospital straight away.
Everyone had deemed Theresa a hero, everyone except Maria, she wasn’t buying it. As she stood at the door to the stairwell , her gaze fixed on Theresa she vowed as your friend to figure out what happened. Suddenly a thought occurred, someone needs to tell Marcus!

Exhausted is the only word to describe how Marcus felt as he stood under the shower. The hot water running down his back easing his aching muscles. Another week and he would be home with you showering you with love and affection before the baby came. Exiting the en-suite, towel wrapped around his waist he hears his phone ring. The call stops before he has time to reach it but he gets a sinking feeling in his stomach as he sees all the missed calls and text from his family and Maria.
“Hey Maria I’m sorry I was just in the shower, everything ok?”
“Marcus oh god I don’t know how to say this but, well it’s Y/N. There was an accident!”
Marcus swears his heart stops when he hears those words, that voice in the back of his head telling him ‘you knew it was too good to be true’
“What happened? Is she ok? The baby?”
“She fell down a flight of stairs, there was a lot of blood..”
Marcus goes pale as he sits in the edge of the bed, this couldn’t be happening.
“Hello Marcus you still there?”
“Yeah, are they ok Maria just tell me please.”
“I don’t know. They’ve taken her to the hospital, your mom is gone with her but you need to get home now.”
“Ok yeah thank you Maria I better call…”
“Don’t worry about the assignment, the boss knows he’s sending Jason in your place just get home.”
“Thank you.”
Marcus was in a daze, throwing his stuff into the suitcase and dressing quickly, he shouldn’t have come, maybe this wouldn’t have happened. Sitting in the uber he booked a flight which would get him home in two hours and as he waited in the airport he called his mom.
“Marcus baby finally! Please tell me your in the way home?”
“I am, just waiting for my flight now. How is she mom? Please tell me there ok.”
“I don’t know baby, as soon as we arrived she was rushed to theatre. They haven’t come to tell me anything yet but as soon as they do I’ll let you know.”
“What happened?”
“She was found by Theresa apparently! She’s fallen down a full flight of stairs and she was unconscious when she found her. There was a pool of blood at her head but she was breathing. That’s all I know I’m sorry.”
“Thanks mom for being with her, just let me know when they tell you anything.”
“I will don’t worry.”
Flight 108 to DC now boarding.
Marcus stood making his way towards the boarding gate, he needed to get home to you.

His feet couldn’t carry him quick enough as he made his way into the hospital, opting to take the stairs rather than wait for the lift. Eyes search the waiting room frantically until his mom stands and waves at him.
“Oh Marcus baby.” She pulls him into a tight hug, her eyes rimmed red from crying.
“Are they ok? Have they said anything?”
“They had to…they….”
Marcus doesn’t want to push his mom who is clearly upset but he needs information. Startled by the sound of his gran he turns to find her walking towards them.
“Mary your scaring the poor boy. Marcus they’ve stabilised Y/N but the fall put a lot of stress on her body the baby..”
“Oh god no…” Marcus is sobbing now unable to keep his emotions in check anymore.
“Marcus! You need to listen, I understand what your feeling but you have to be strong for Y/N, she’s gonna need you when she wakes up. If you’d let me finish, your daughter, is perfect! She’s healthy, she’s in an incubator for a few days but she’s fine.”
“Daughter? We thought we were having a boy, I have a little girl.”
“Yeah, your a dad Markie.”
A doctor appears and asks for the family of Y/N.
“She’s out of recovery now if you’d like to see her? Are you her husband?”
“Boyfriend and father of her baby.”
“Perfect if you’d like to follow me. There was a bleed in her brain that we’ve stopped, we’ve done all we can, it’s up to her now.”
“Will there be any long term damage?”
“It’s hard to tell, we won’t know until she wakes. Here we are.”
Marcus’s stomach drops when he sees you, all pale and bruised. Hooked up to wires and machines.
“Your daughter is in the neonatal unit if you’d like to see her.”
He just stands there, eyes focused on you but his mind is miles away.
“Mr. Pike?”
“Sorry. I…no! I want to wait for Y/N.”
He moves towards the seat pulling it right beside your bed. Lacing his hand with yours he starts to cry.
“I’m so sorry baby, I shouldn’t have left. Please, please Y/N I need you to wake up. I love you so so much and I can’t do this without you. Our daughter needs you, I need you. Please baby.”

Theresa arrives at the hospital the following day with a coffee and bagel for Marcus. Walking into the waiting room she spots his mom and gran and makes her way towards them.
“Hi, I brought these for Marcus I thought he could use them. How is Y/N? The baby?”
His mom smiles up at her moving her bag off the seat beside her gesturing for her to sit.
“It was a miracle that you found her, we will be forever grateful to you Theresa, I know Marcus will.”
“I’m just so happy that she’s ok. Can I go see her?”
“Of course dear! It’s room 15.”
Theresa makes her way through the halls, eyes searching for the numbers 15. Spotting the room number she makes her way over, the door open slightly. She can here Marcus pleading with you to come back to him, to your daughter, and she rolls her eyes before schooling her face and knocking on the door.
“Hey sorry I just wanted to bring you breakfast, how is she?”
Marcus looks up at her a small smile creeping onto his face. Standing up he pulls her into a hug and she takes this opportunity to snuggle into him, a devilish smile on her face.
“Thank you so much Theresa for everything. I owe you so much.”
“Oh Marcus you don’t owe me anything, I’d do anything to see you happy.”

Maria sat at her desk with Roger, skimming through the cctv, her eyes tired from staring at the screen all day.
“I got it! You won’t believe this.”
Maria sits up and rushes to his computer gasping at the sight before her.
