*Jwoww is a libra moon + sag mars like me and she was always my favorite. She did really try to mediate certain situations but she was definitely not gonna back down from a fight. ✨A healthy balance of trying to keep the peace but then punching the first person who disrupts it✨

*Pisces are sassy asf and sometimes borderline rude. In a weird way they can get away w it but it can get annoying. I notice Pisces placements get into arguments with eachother alot (jwoww and Sammie are both Pisces suns)

*i think friends can have a lot of moon square moon aspects. Snooki and Jwoww had moon square moon and so did Pauly and Vinny. It’s weird because it’s supposed to highlight emotional misunderstandings yet so many close friends have it.

*Jwoww and Pauly had Venus square Venus, sun trine sun, moon opposite moon, and almost her venus opposite his mars, her moon conjunct his Pluto, her pluto trine his sun, and mercury trine mercury. Maybe the Venus-mars aspect is why they never became a thing. Also they both seemed to really value their friendship so I suspect some 11th house synastry as well.

When I read about it I immediately looked up the house synastry between me and my childhood friend who I’ve known since I was born and viola his moon is in my 11th house! Idk how I knew but the energy we have is so comfortable and he’s someone where we can go a year without talking and then see eachother and it would feel like not even a day had passed. It’s a very light, happy, and authentic feeling when your around one another and just very natural. It’s like the other person knows everything about you and instead of feeling uncomfortable or vulnerable you feel accepted and welcomed. Great for friendships or relationships ♡

♡ moon conjunct venus: have this with my best friend :) everytime we get drunk we always end up confessing our love for eachother over text and it’s actually super funny. Very motherly relationship if that makes sense I think of her like my mom bc she always takes care of me! We can be do literally nothing and we’d still have a great time. This placement is great for just loving each others company ♡

♡ sun in the 5th house: super fun to have with anyone romantically or platonically! ok so I'm jumpin around doin my favorites here. first off; Piper

Piper, before being the bastard goat child she is, was a bastard human child! except said bastard human child was in an ongoing abusive environment and most of the bastardry was in an attempt to get revenge on the world around her. now it's just bc old habits die hard

essentially, Piper's life was her mom, who was physically abusive, and then all the adult at school who treated her like she was made of glass because she couldn't see. one day, Mom Of The Year got bored of this whole "raising a child" bullshit and took her on a walk to mt. ebott, where she promptly drove off and left Piper there

Piper, of course, falls into the underground (it should be noted that during the falling process, Piper ends up landing in a different Au than she started in, this one an Underfell au). she meets Smidge, Instant besties, and gets adopted by everyone's favorite Goat Mom while the rest of the monsters in the ruins try to kill her. Fun Times

so now she has essentially switched from Abusive Mother In A World That Treats Her Like Glass to Mother Who Treats Her Like Glass In A World That's Trying To Kill Her, but this time with a flower friend. she peaces out, hangs with the skeleton bros (and gets battle training from UF Papyrus, she still visits sometimes) and then goes on with her way of multiverse hopping and causing trouble for anyone who stands still and some people who don't.

at some point Indigo finds them and decides "yeah these two are my new siblings now" and brings them to codebound, where they are still happily living, with the get out of jail free card that is a super powered older sibling and mommy issues that could fees a small village

Ok next up; Solar and his planets!

all of the planets have suitably tragic backstories, but while most of them have things that can and do happen in the real world (child abuse, trafficking, dog fighting rings, rich people), Saturn and Jupiter are from a full on coliseum style arena. I call this out because they wrecked ass and still do

now, for the big boss himself! Solar is the son of two Very Important Heroes, Daydream and Dapple (this universes version of Dream and Ink, they're still called that sometimes) and hates them both with a passion. We'll get to why in a sec

Daydream was very, Very concerned about two of the resident bad guys that follow him around, Nightterror and Daybreak (another Dream variant) hurting him, and spent a lot of time out keeping tabs on them to make sure they didn't hurt his baby. unfortunately in the time he spent watching the bad guys he was not watching five year old Solar, so they kinda scooted on in while there was an emergency and kidnapped him. Whoops!

Daybreak and Nightterror (mostly Daybreak) taught Solar several fun ideas like Have You Considered Killing People Actually, and got him to eat one of the corrupted apples. This went predictably, making Solar an absolute powerhouse but in a way he couldn't control

it's at this point we get Solar's Halo, which is actually a magic restrictor. this keeps him from flipping the actual fuck out and turning into a full on beast from the corruption, but he can only produce pure magic while wearing it, not shape it into attacks. this is why he has the pins, which he essentially feeds his magic into like a battery to do what they're programmed to do, like pre-made attacks.

The star pin is a gift from Daybreak and can and will blind a bitch when used, as well as being able to grow for him to chuck at things like captain america's shield. the moon is a gift from Nightterror and allows him to step into and manipulate peoples dreams (he's more powerful in the dreamscape but also more vulnerable), and the sun, which is a gift from Daybreak and also his literal soul, emits a warm and protective light made to guide him to safety in times of need

you may note that Daydream's gift is more gentle and protective while the gifts from Daybreak and Nightterror seem incredibly combative. this is because they are

bonus fun fact, Solar is never seen without the black bodysuit he wears under his outfits. Ever. Not even while sleeping.

so yeah Solar has some fun trauma from being manipulated by his uncles into accepting a corruption that his six year old body couldn't handle, but he's still best buds with Daybreak and Nightterror so he blames all the symptoms of that on Daydream, who's much easier for him to villainize. Fun!

tidbit bio.

he was born in seogwipo on jeju island, handed off to the care of his grandparents bc his mom was just a teen! they adopt him and as far as he knows, they are his parents. never met his birth mother or father ever. he’s an only child which made him kind of a lonely kid but hey, he’s doin alright now you know. growing up, there really was no shortage of love for him, even if he grew up relatively poor. he’s very curious & bubbly, really had no idea what to do with all his energy back then so he just pestered the older kids in the neighborhood.

cut to middle school and boy done got infected with the music bug. his very first instrument is an absolutely awful red little recorder but he cherished it more than anything. he and his friends take turns on a guitar one of them owns. his father found a much better job opportunity in canada which meant better living conditions for his family so rj has to pack up and zip across the ocean. not so fun for him- like at all. struggled a lot with some real intense loneliness for a long time / had to go through a lot to adapt to his new life but in the end he came out okay & wound up making friends just fine in the end. 

in highschool, he’s drawing friends in like a sponge. he’s a real charmer, the kind that just seemed to come effortlessly. he spread himself pretty thin back then, every other night at someone’s house helping them through a rough breakup or taking them to his to cheer them up after a rough day. it got to a point he was really draining himself but he just kept goin.. cause he knew he could handle it if people just kept being happy bc of him. his love for music only gets stronger, used music to cope and even still does. by now he’d nearly mastered playing drums, guitar & piano.

with a pocket full of dreams, he’s back in south korea to pursue his dreams. a big picture in mind of giving the same comfort some of his favorite artists gave him. he becomes a trainee under kmg after passing global auditions fresh out of highschool and has been training for nearing two years now.

as far as the image he portrays to the public at large, it’s not much different from his real self. he plays more into his confidence, a shameless fan service king. 

personality.

has a very live and let live attitude, very tolerant and mellow. often gets tossed into mediator positions because of this. you could spit in his face and he’d be like ‘lmao ok fair enough’ definitely ‘treat people the way you want to be treated’ than ‘treat people the way they treat you’ guy. you could treat him like an ant under your boot and he’d still treat you the same, doesn’t mean he’ll forget tho.

not really trusting despite all this though & he’s definitely not naive cause he’s well aware how people can be, just chooses to be kinder than they are. 

a stingy bastard with his things. genuinely hasn’t had to share much in his life so he’s pretty possessive of his things & it’s taken a lot to get over. sharing a space with a bunch of other people really didn’t bode well, but he got used to it.

thinks the weaknesses of others are admirable and make them who they are but can’t do the same for his own yIKE! realizes a sliver of his weakness and yeets himself. dreads having people know he’s not always vibin cause he’s human afterall.

truly does not know the meaning of the word stop when it comes to kindness, even if it winds up sucking the life out of him. his need to make people happy is too stronk. will toss his happiness like a wet paper towel for someone else.

determined to a fault... you could tell him what he’s attempting is LITERALLY impossible and he still will not give up if he’s already set his mind to accomplishing it. ( rj u cannot count every grain of sand on earth.. BUT HE CAN TRY ) really tears himself down if he can’t reach a goal he’s set or get something done.

3. What random objects do you use to bookmark your books?

I honestly just use little random scraps of paper or sometimes leaves on a lucky day

4. How do you take your coffee/tea?

I don't drink coffee but for tea I usually sweeten it with a little bit of sugar or honey and that's all!! Except certain kinds get milk in them too

12. What's your favorite planet?

My favorite is Saturn, it makes me think of the song by Sleeping at Last so by that connection it makes me feel kinda peaceful to think about

18. Tell us about something dumb/funny you did that has since gone down in history between you and your friends and is always brought up

I can't think of anything with friends (if you have stuff that comes to mind pls comment it) but in my family there is the classic story of when my cousins "trapped" tiny me under a blanket and I just sat there saying "haelp" in a sad, sad, little southern accent. We imitate it any time we're all together.

22. Are you a morning person?

I think I would be considered one yes? I always wake up before or at my first alarm and yeet myself out of bed and I'm ready to go. But I'm also cool to stay late if I have stuff to do, so I could also be a night owl but I try to sleep earlier for my mental health!!

All of them, I don't even know what 95% of pastries are by name but I will eat any and be happy about it

Liver,, I had it once and have never tried it again because absolutely not. I should give it another go but it is s o bad

Dead bugs and bones, I try to get rid of them soon after I decide to pick them up and store them in my room bc it's weird but I do like to collect them ??

67. How do gloomy days where the sky is dark and the world is misty make you feel?

They remind me a lot of where I used to live so they make me feel very at home but also kinda homesick. They also evoke the deep urge to get into a fight with someone bc I used to be the crazy knife kid

81. Describe one of your friends eyes using the most abstract imagery you can think of.

Well not a friend but my g i r l f r i e n d bc I look at her beautiful eyes the most!! They are full of so much warmth, like a hearthfire thawing out your frozen fingers on a snowy winter's night, hours before the clock ticks to 12 and Christmas wonder begins. In the light, they are the amber that preserves life from prehistory; the red sea glass you picked up years ago but still carry in your pocket to this day. You look into them and relax, worries cast aside, like coming home from a long day and falling into the arms of a loved one. You look into them and you are home.

96. Do you install your computer updates quickly or procrastinate them a lot?

If I am watching YouTube my computer may never get updated,, but if the timing is absolutely perfect to catch me not wasting time or while procrastinating something else then I do them right away.

100. If you were presented wirh two buttons, one that allows you to go 5 years into the past and one that allows you to go 5 years into the future, which one would you press? Why?

I'd go 5 years into the past to leave a subtle message to myself that everything is gonna be okay some day without disturbing anything. I'd be too scared to see into the future

eloise is happiest around people, so any social activity really floats her boat. she also loves karaoke--in another life, she would’ve been a killer pop star, but right now she’s happy fancying herself a local celeb.

julian loves himself some sudoku. he’s a sudoku fiend. 

gemini: Do they have any siblings? How many?

for some reason all my kids are only children except for abigail who’s got a half sib and julian who has several siblings... somewhere. he has no clue if they’re still alive or not. winnie has a brother, but she was raised in a place where she had a lot of different “siblings” ie every other kid running around the damn place.

orion: What’s their favorite type of weather?

eloise is a slut for some rays of sunshine. 

matilda can romanticize just about everything, but more than anything, she loves snow. she loves taking walks while it’s snowing--location is one of the things that attracted her to polaris.

laurel loves thunderstorms.

supernova: How do you feel about themselves?

i’m incapable of having characters who love themselves properly but eloise probably comes closest. she’s very comfortable in her skin and is tired of being told she shouldn’t. she doesn’t always believe she deserves to be properly loved, but she’s happy with who she is. 

laurel has spent her life being told she’s great and she doesn’t disagree, but she does know that she treats people badly and doesn’t really think she’s a good person. 

getting matilda’s insecurities out of her is like pulling teeth, but she has a complicated relationship with herself. she knows she tries to to be a good person, and she knows that she’s kind and pleasant to be around, but she carries around a lot of guilt. matilda thinks she should have been stronger for the attack and capable of saving that student. and, more than anything, she wants to be loved and to have a family, which she doesn’t really believe she’ll get again at this stage of the game, so. i guess, in a word, she feels... unfulfilled. but she keeps that one to herself.

winnie loves the 80s aesthetic. she's embraced most eras just to blend in, but she loved the 80s and has carried that vibe with her ever since.

abigail actually really loves putting herself in shitty situations. dealing started off as a means to an end, but now it kind of makes her feel alive, which is... weird.

matilda would literally die for those she cares about--a theory she’s proven, and she knows she’d do it again. 

winnie would... not. she’d kill for someone, but she’s killed for a lot less, so that’s not really saying much. she’d probably ruffle some feathers for someone she’s fond of.

laurel is not a gal who’ll tell someone she cares, but you can bet that she’ll be the first to destroy someone on who fucks with blair someone she loves.

for laurel, it’s blair. it would hurt the most, but also reaffirm her belief that she can’t have anything nice that isn’t paid for.

Museum of Mayhem Art Analysis

ahhh it’s finally here and it’s AWESOME. Lots of credit to @ifalnasminiatures for bringing this to my attention! Also credit to Hayder Hype for providing (nat zero six on gearbox forums) sources (Ashley Landry on twitter) in the description of his video because oh man it’s a lot

lots to talk about especially regarding the calypso twins so let us dive right in

tl;dr: tyreen has a weird red marking on her face in some old designs. i think troy used to be blind and missing his metal plates. more proof for my elpis/chemical sludge/lost legion theory that the twins are using said chemical sludge to give their followers psuedo-siren powers bc a dahl pumping station (hyperion pumping stations on pandora) but dahl had a presence on the moon

one of my favorites, it reminds me a lot of the Mask of Mayhem, but for villains.

Punk Girl is shown again twice, probably further proving she’s tied in with the CoV somehow

we also got some crazy looking villains such as

baby face. which is all kinds of extremely fucked up

this dude who looks like he could be a miniboss with the glasgow smile and the cool goggles

this guy who i legitimately thought was dr zed for a hot second there

this girl who seems like she could be a unique character with a baseball cap. wondering if maybe she’s related to Punk Girl in any way. What’s the verdict on the other band members? 🤔

this piece! very interesting to me

so, the very first thing i noticed is zane’s eye patch being on the other eye lol

amara’s tattoos are also gone, however that might’ve been for reasons similar to the japanese cover art of the game. 

most interestingly is a point @ifalnasminiatures made and it’s that the calypso twins are actually palette swapped! you can see Troy is the one with the white hair and Ty is the one with the darker hair. which I think mayyy play into a few things we see later about the twins

we also see a tiny ship in the background. i can’t tell if that’s sanctuary-iii or the blue/yellow ship, it all blends together a lot due to the quality of the pic. but it is next to the calypso twins, which makes me want to believe it’s the blue/yellow ship we see with red markings all over it. you know this one from the mural of mayhem wallpapers

interestingly, i feel like the roses might have been a thing they just put in for the new cover art. haven’t seen hide nor hair of them across any of the pictures i’ve seen.

we got a lot of figures. out of them i most definitely recognized amara, salvador, maya, another salvador?, zer0, moze (maybe?), and axton. i thiiink one of them is maya as well, but im not 100% on that. 

i can guess why they didn’t pick this one: it’s hard to tell who’s who. a lot of these poses make the silhouettes kinda hard to see and the merging together at the bottom makes things even worse. i do think it’s interesting there are some bl2 characters on here as well, but hayder hype mentioned they very well could be placeholders, and given that i can’t make out fl4k or zane, im inclined to believe him.

there’s a new red planet which hasn’t been shown off before, looks like a gassy planet kinda like jupiter, but interestingly it has this green crack in the side?

very reminiscent of pandora’s eridium scar. i am wondering if this is because this planet had a vault opened, or if it is tied to the Eridians at all. be interesting if it was their homeworld.

also i have no idea what the symbolism is in the homeworld destroying another planet but maybe we shouldn’t think about it too hard e_e

tbh, i thought this was elpis the first time i saw it due to the cracks, but i figured elpis doesn’t have like continents across its surface, just craters. and wayyy more cracks.

there’s also this redder planet here which i actually DO think is Pandora. if you squint real hard u can see the purple from the eridian scar. plus the color matches up pretty well with the pictures provided above.

there’s also these two bodies over in the corner where the light is coming from. i can’t tell what they’re supposed to be

i assume they’re maliwan? they remind me a lot of the maliwan drop ship things that fly overhead when you enter promethea

troy: missing his tattoos, blind in one eye, has a weird mark above his eyebrow. also, no metal bits!

Tyreen!!! with a red stripe across her left cheek going up to her eye??? no tattoos on her left arm as far as we can see, but that might be for marketing reasons (she’s also covering up part of her bicep). she’s also missing her coat and chains and wearing a different glove.

we also have a bunch of bl2 VHs taking up space. again i think hayder hype is right in that they’re simply placeholders. not much else to say, but 

this trend of Tyreen having red markings on her face and Troy being blind in an eye (or both) actually continues through a fair amount of these posters!!!

more cover art. one of my least favorites again... i just think it looks like the psycho is puking out the VHs. also, seems to be an older version of the psycho mask.

fl4k seems to be less rendered than the rest of the cast? like they have less detail, especially on their coat

also you can see an older looking space shuttle up at the top, which reminds me a lot of the one we use in TFTBL to get to helios. except less caravanny and more rockety

the splatter also reminds me of siren powers, with the purple and the glitter. it’s cool that it’s showing a different shot than what’s behind it. maybe a hint to siren powers because it’s sort of like a portal.

tyreen seems to still have a mark on the left side of her face, im wondering if this ties into her scars at all? it doesn’t seem as prominent as the previous red mark.

Zane seems to have an actual eye patch instead of his more high-tech eye patch, which reminds me a lot of the leaked character concepts from like january i wanna say

amara seems to be dual wielding lol i wonder if originally that was going to be one of her 3 skills but then they were like “wait salvador. wait. nisha. FUC-”

also fl4k is being obscured by this weird saturn-like planet. let them be free!

moze is missing, the saturn like planet shows up 2 times total, and that blue/yellow ship is seen again behind troy

as for the purple stuff? you already know my theory that the twins are going to be using the chemical sludge on elpis to empower their followers. it could also just be straight eridium/slag. you know, like the testing from the WEP with bloodwing and even krieg. we’ll have to see. it would be interesting if they tied krieg into the story through there.

i do lowkey think it’s chemical sludge though, because some of it is actually glowing blue in places, you can see it clearly below amara’s feet. maybe some tie in to siren powers cuz they glow the same blueish color. who knoooows not i

big shot of this psycho here, looks like he’s crumbling. 

i really like the 4 VHs standing at the base with the elongated shadows. very dark vibes from this tho, probably not suitable for the series as a whole. i can see why maybe they decided not to do it. 

i wonder if we’ll see this giant psycho statue somewhere on pandora. it would certainly be a sight to behold. 

also i kinda wish we had cloaks like the concept art shows. cloaks are cool

more sketchy art. this one is also kinda strange, i definitely get why they decided not to go thru with it.

possibly tie-in with the ‘mother’ imagery we get on the propaganda signs across pandora.

very bl2 like, im glad they didn’t stick with this. i like that they decided to change things up

troy seems to be blind and also missing his metal implants on his face. his jacket also looks a lot different, it looks more like tyreen’s with the spikes and stuff across it. we also can’t see his metal arm at all, tho we do see his sword! which looks a lot different, im glad they decided to revamp it to be more visually interesting lol

tyreen is more interesting to me. it looks like her right arm has like a silver coating over it? unless that is a metal arm as well. she also is wearing a different kind of glove. her tattoos are missing as well, but again, it’s probably because of the cover art. her scars also definitely seem to have reached her left cheek at some point.

zane also looks a lot different, tho amara, moze, and fl4k look about the same.

another shot of the ship, this one is definitely the blue/yellow one. there’s gotta be some significance with that, right? either we’re getting skins for sanc-iii, we’re going to be painting it a new color, or it’s a different ship.

one of my favorite ones out of all of them. it’s beautiful, i really wish they had kept it. Fl4k is missing but i assume they were meant to go next to Amara? i also think it’s interesting Moze is in the front, as I took Amara to be the leader this time around. Zane is also an older design, with the eyepatch back on his left eye again (starting to think this is an aesthetic thing lol) and a black jacket instead of blue.

We see the twins on the top. Tyreen has that mark on her face again, and Troy is the same as the last few covers.

We also see Maya, Zer0, and for some reason Brick? Which is weird to me considering we have a few other characters who initially feel much for important to the story (cough Lilith cough), but I’m not complaining. 

the purple splatters again make me think this is a tie in to eridium/slag/elpis’s chemical sludge. i also like the logo being worked into the design instead of just thrown on top, i think that’s a nice detail

i couldn’t find a great shot of this poster which is a shame because it’s one of my favorites

a lot of baddies to go around on here. i love the dude up top, he reminds me of the Anchormen from the captain scarlett dlc in bl2!

i mean why should they have to hold back all their medieval armor designs for another dlc like tiny tina’s? all their pirate/sea-fairing designs for a pirate dlc? fuck it! go WILD. i think they did, anywho

there’s also this post which... tbh i can’t make out much at all. again, seems like an older psycho mask design. it looks like there are characters in the splatter on the bottom left, but it’s very hard to tell who’s who, especially at this angle and image quality lol

if we get a better shot later on i may return to this piece and try to figure things out!

we also have this piece which is giving me huge ‘Happy Together’ vibes. very trippy

moze looks like she’s using an untextured atlas gun? dunno what’s going on with that tbh lol

i really like this one too. it’s cool. i get why maybe they wanted to go a little crazier tho, feels too simplistic for the MAYHEM vibe they’re going for.

we can also see this art of what i think is Punk Girl, which is interesting to me because she looks to be doing something with her right hand. possible siren powers? maybe! 

we also get a much cooler, bigger version of that maliwan ship people were talking about, with what look to be maliwan... eye bots? surrounding it. this is soooo fuckin awesome to me because it reminds me of a sailboat. and airships are fucking COOL

9. what does your name mean?tbh, weeb ass got it from noriaki kakyoin initially just as like, an rp nickname? bc i used to rp kakyoin a lot. but i dont want to go by noriaki since i’m white and i know ‘nori’ by itself pops up as a name or nickname in other cultures, although outside of japanese & arabic i can’t find it right now.

tbh i really like that it just sounds like ppl are calling me seaweed, although i’ve also seen that depending on the kanji used it could also mean doctrine/belief. i wish i could find the use of it in other cultures but scrolling through baby name websites is both nauseating and unhelpful, although one person said that in lithuanian it means “wants”

i was going to go by kieran as a middle name until my mom ruined that (like she did with luke) but atm i’d rather accept link - like from legend of zelda, since link was designed to be androgynous and a lot of trans ppl relate to him (although ppl trying to find a deeper meaning to the name on baby name sites is hilarious - ‘lincoln’, really? just admit u like video games) - or cas. cas is apparently dutch for “imperial” but i just took it from the character castiel on supernatural, and his name is probably derived from the archangel cassiel. ‘cassiel’ has a ton of different spellings depending on which religion’s texts you’re reading and which translation, but that name means “speed of god” or “god is my anger”, according to wikipedia. he’s sometimes depicted as the angel over saturn, or the angel of saturdays. he’s not depicted in the bible, but shows up in jewish/islamic/christian mystical and occult texts.

(i think its also worth noting i had a hard time finding these names on baby name sites and like, i do live to be difficult!)

12. favorite trans headcanon?

there are just so many good ones!!! danny fenton & timmy turner (made esp great by the fact that butch hartman just fucking hates it) being trans, that cow from the barnyard show on nickelodeon, reigen arataka, mob (as either trans masc or trans fem), link - and for that matter, any character when you see them shirtless and they don’t have nipples? they had top surgery and elected not to have the nipples put back on. 

i think sam porter bridges from death stranding could easily be read as a trans man or trans woman, and i like both. on the one hand, he needs an stand-to-pee device (literally, that is a part of your equipment); on the other, the game has heavy themes of motherhood and he is able to use technology to be connected through what i can only describe as an umbilical cord to the bridges baby. and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the gender commentary was entirely intentional on kojima’s part. for that matter, i also love trans solid snake and trans hal emmerich in metal gear solid. 

i also think danganronpa deserves a special shoutout, not just because you can pry canon trans girl chihiro fujisaki from my cold, dead hands and i’m sick of seeing cis bootlickers harassing ppl online over that transphobic as fuck storyline, but for real? nobody’s birth name actually spells out “diamond” with their sibling so mondo and daiya oowada are both trans (it’s also one of the only ways to make any part of case 2 make any goddamn sense), yasuhiro hagakure and celestia ludenberg having plotlines where where they have to reveal those aren’t their birth names? congrats they’re both trans now. 

i wish there were more headcanons about characters being trans women that didn’t rely on stereotyping. i know thats a big problem wrt seeing muscular or tall women and ppl focusing their trans headcanons on them, so i actually kinda head canon aoi asahina as trans and wanna eventually write that for fic w sakura ogami being cis bc people tend to look at sakura and go “well obviously shes trans bc shes muscular” (and then they do the opposite when it comes to trans men, but i’ve seen a lot of trans masc hcs). i also don’t see a lot of nonbinary hcs being given to amab people…. we need to fix that!! but alas i have already rambled a lot so thats a post for another day.

Fav thing about them: i really liked that one cut scene after her death with her and noctis because got that one was really pretty. also that one scene in altissia where the imperial soldiers barge in and point guns at her and she just stands up, brushes the gun aside, and walks away like “fucking shoot me, i dare you” like damn u go bitch ♥

Least fav thing about them: this has probably been said a million times before but honestly she doesn’t even feel like a character, but more of a plot device. if noct is gonna be forced to leave his 3 whole ass boyfriends behind to take a nap with her forever, at least give us some reason to even remotely like her as a character. give her a few lines that sound like something a real human person would say. give her realistic, personal relationships with someone. gentiana or ravus would have been perfect considering she was so close with gentiana and ravus is her fucking brother. i don’t care about how artsy and poetic her and noctis’s sacrifices were, give us something to demonstrates how close they were personally and how they genuinely enjoyed each other’s company as friends rather than tragic lovers. give her something that wasn’t solely related to the plot and developed her character in some way. luna deserved better :(

Fav thing about them: she’s like. the only likeable female character in the game. i mean shiva. bby i would die for u, but i gotta admit. aranea’s the only one who feels like she has a personality outside of furthering the plot. also the fact that she shares both her english and japanese voice actors with celty from durarara is super cool bc 1) drrr is my fav anime and 2) both of their personalities are really similar and i think it fits them really well!

Least fav thing about them: i wish we could have gotten her dlc!! the female characters in this game needed all the character development they could get and square enix did them dirty >:( ep aranea sounded like it would’ve been so interesting and i would have loved to see more aranea stuff

ok. heres a write up of my astro weekend. sorry it’s so long. 

...or at least everything i can remember. 

i guess i’ll go in order. 

thursday: 

thursday was in athens. i sat around my airbnb room for a bit and then finally decided to go check out a shop around 2 pm. well apparently that fuckin shop was literally next door bc as soon as I turned around from loading up the parking meter, Birdstuff was there with the sound guy (his friend). I said hi and we talked for a bit, then I went into the store. I got a cool sweater and a cute dress and the girl at the counter took my picture to put on their instagram.  I checked out a few more shops in the area before I went back. Also, Reel Big Fish were playing literally right up the road and I heard them rehearsing. 

I got to the venue right before the doors opened and ran into a guy from the fan facebook group. we talked for a bit and he said he flew in from new york for the show. super nice dude. I went in and no one checked if i had a ticket or id’ed me or anything. kinda weird. Anyway i just kinda sat there for a while while people came in. avona nova waved at me when she showed up, then coco said hi later while I was talking to someone. the other guy was like “you know that guy...i feel like i should know him!” I had to tell him who it was, I thought that was pretty funny. 

I also saw Birdstuff again before their set. He gave me a setlist but only if i promised not to look at it. I shoved it in my pocket and forgot about it til the next day. lol.  Their set was really good. They opened with one of my favorite songs, and played the MST3K theme song. They also played one new song. Coco grabbed my head during one of the intro samples. Birdstuff also fed a chunk of pizza to the guy next to me.  Oh shit, I almost forgot about Pylon. They played before astroman and were AMAZING. Also Vanessa (the singer) told me she liked my jacket when i picked up their new record from the merch table. I’m really really glad I got to see them.

After the set I stuck around to say hi and stuff. Me and my new buddy from the facebook group both talked to coco for a bit. I showed him my tattoo and he said he’d make sure i’d be on the guest list for the rest of the weekend buuut that never happened. I dont think he was lying or forgot but I never did get on that guest list :/. I gave him and everyone but star crunch some stickers. Avona Nova asked me about my shoes, and she was so into them. It was adorable! I love her.  That’s about it for thursday night.  Friday: 

The friday show was in atlanta. I went to check out the botanical gardens in athens before i left town. it was unsurpisingly not that great on the last day of november but i still enjoyed it. it was nice to go for a peaceful walk through nature and i still got to see some cool plants. I left and drove to atlanta and went to my favorite shop in little 5 points, then left because i didnt wanna deal with people or traffic anymore. (i still got stuck in traffic). I did get a cool MoAM magnet though. 

The show in atlanta was in the same place i saw them last year- except they expanded so the venue was about twice as big. i got there kinda early (they also opened the doors way later than advertised) so i sat with one of birdstuff’s friends/the sound guy for a while. hes a really nice guy and showed me pictures of his cats. he also introduced me to some other people that work at saturn.

the merch table was on the old stage and i fell a little bit and almost spilled my drink on star crunch who was unloading tshirts. he was like “oh...hi”. after the show he told me his dog died :/

 the first 2 opening bands were kinda weird but i had fun watching them. Arcwelder played and I really enjoyed seeing them. I think i’m gonna try and get some of their cds. I saw coco in the audience again and i think he waved at me but i cant remember if he said hi. my new buddy was kind of impressed that any of the band members did say hi though. lol.  i think avona nova musta said hi that night too bc at some point he was like “you’re like the astro-insider”. I thought it was hilarious. 

The set for this night was pretty great. they opened with With Automatic Shutoff again but it sounded way better. they also did a few improv songs, and played the mst3k song again, but it wasnt on the set list. Coco fell at some point during the set and kicked me in the face a little bit. I told him afterward and he felt really bad. He also knocked over one of the monitors when he fell, and i had to hold it up with 2 other guys to keep it from falling. I got to wear coco’s helmet for a minute but its heavy and smelly so i put it on someone else as soon as i could. also henry (the guy who put all the shows together as his birthday party) told me he was really glad i came. it was kinda weird but it was nice. kinda made me wanna cry though. 

After the show i stuck around for a bit. this time i did get to talk to the band a bit more. I asked star crunch how he was doing and he was like “i’ve had better weeks....my dog just died” UM. OKAY. he did seem really sad though. i feel bad for him. hes such a nice man. We talked for a bit and I gave him some of the stickers i made.  birdstuff knew i was going to drive from atlanta to birmingham for the next show so he offered to find me a place to stay as they all claimed “the drive back was really boring”. star crunch was like “you could stay with my parents, my dad could teach you how to line dance.” lmao. him and coco also told me about a time they apparently both interviewed and applied for the same job, with the idea that theyd both work the same position for like half the year and get twice the amount of work done, so they could tour the rest of the year. i had to tell him that basically the same thing happened in an episode of its always sunny in philadelphia. lmao. i talked with them all for a while before they started leaving and stuff. i mean i didnt have anything better to do. i said see ya later and got an uber home. my airbnb was cold as shit and i didnt sleep very well. 

saturday: 

the saturday show was at Saturn in Birmingham. and it was perfect. i slept as late as i could then just chilled in my airbnb (it was a converted airstream trailer- hella cool but kinda cold in late november/early december) until it was time to go. i packed all my shit but wasnt really sure if i wanted to stay in Bham because i figured i’d have to stay with a stranger or something. the drive from atlanta to birmingham really wasnt that bad, but i’m also not a 40 year old man. I got to bham way earlier than i expected so i went and tried to get something to eat. the sandwich i ordered was amazing but i just wasnt hungry. did i  mention i have appetite issues when i travel? because i barely ate anything all weekend. anyway i went to saturn and just sat around for a while til i met another person from the facebook group. which was nice, because i basically wasn’t alone at any of the shows. this guy was also super nice. avona nova came up and said hi and asked me about video games? i wasnt feeling good and i was really confused when she said that. it was still cool she said hi though. she’s so sweet. 

once again i wasnt on the setlist even though coco told me twice he’d make sure i was on there. i was kinda mad about it til he came up before their set and asked if i got in okay. (he also startled me when he did this because he came up from behind).  Arcwelder played again this show and they were really good again. Tar was also super good and the singer told me he liked all my space shit after the show. he was really nice. 

This show was played on the floor with a huge parachute as a backdrop. it looked awesome and made for a nice intimate setting. the band came through the audience instead of from the back and scared the hell out of me when they came up from behind me. 

This show was probably my favorite of the whole weekend. I think the set was a little longer but they also just sounded great. 

early on in the set star crunch’s microphone was like, electrified and it shocked him in the middle of a song. he put his guitar up to it to prove it and there was a bright spark. someone said “put a sock on it” so coco, being the fucking weird man he is took his shoe off and offered his sock to star crunch. but like its a sock and your mouth goes real close to the mic so he was like “no!!” coco just threw his fucking sock into the audience and played half the show with only one shoe on til the rest of the band made him put the other one on (with no sock). 

the theremin broke at some point during the set (it fell...but a cymbal also fell and broke the cord. who knows which truly broke it) so they almost didn’t play principles unknown, but birdstuff had the sound guy put a bunch of reverb on the mic and made coco do the fucking theremin noises with his mouth. and it was fucking incredible. he did it like, perfectly and TBH it was amazing to witness. i got it on video and i’m so glad i did. 

coco put the space helmet on me again during this show, and i tried to take a selfie with it but it didnt save :/. oh well. it got passed around the audience and everyone that got it seemed super happy. 

they played the mst3k song one more time this show, and birdstuff dedicated it to me :) he said something like “she drove all the way from fucking new zealand!” and this guy with a real heavy southern accent tapped my shoulder and was like “new zealand?” no...just iowa. lmao. it was so cool he did that, though. i’m really hoping someone recorded the whole show so i can go back and listen to it later. 

birdstuff did his regular drum kit sculpture but this time he stole a bunch of people’s belts (yes....he asked the audience for belts and then took them) and hung the snare drum from the ceiling. the second funniest part of the show was watching people try to find their belt from the pile. 

after the show i saw another guy in a jumpsuit so i went to tell him i liked it, just for solidarity i guess? turns out he went to high school with coco. weird! he was a super friendly guy and was kind of enthralled with my outfit. he took a picture with me and coco lol. 

I asked coco if i could take a picture with all 4 of them. i hadnt done it yet and i was like why not! its a special weekend!. he was like “yeah! if we can get everyone all together” which yeah, took a while. i also made sure i asked star crunch since he usually disappears first.

there were some teenage girls there who were trying to get the band’s autographs, and it was awesome. they were nice and i hope they had a good show. one of them told me she thought star crunch was cute. lmao. i kinda wish i’d gotten some autographs but i had such a good weekend, it doesn’t matter. 

i hung around until finally we got everyone in one room so we could take a picture. my bud for the night from the facebook group also got to take a picture with them. 

birdstuff asked again if i wanted to stay there, and i was like “sure!” mostly just so i could say i did it. man, it was an awesome place. they put in  some rooms and bunks above the venue so bands could sleep there. none of the bands that played that night stayed though, so i got the whole front room to myself. birdstuff showed me around and tried to get netflix on the tv to work but couldnt so he just showed me where the dvds were. i found a simpsons dvd and watched that. 

let me tell you- staying the night in saturn, watching the simpsons after an amazing MoAM show where they dedicated a song to me and then i got to hang out with them for a bit, that’s my idea of heaven. it was such a perfect night. i also took some pictures in the upstairs of saturn, partially because i wanted to be able to prove i was there, but also because the art and decorations were fucking awesome. such a good night. 

i did have to take a shower without a shower curtain though. birdstuff couldnt fix that. i didnt even care though. 

sunday:

the sunday show was in atlanta again, at a place called whirlyball. now what i didnt know about this place was that its not a fucking venue but basically an arcade. or well, more like, its this sport played on bumpercars with lacrosse sticks. theres 2 courts and a few games in the lobby, oh and theres a stage too. what a weird place. i was starting to feel sick by this day so i just sat on the couch for a while. avona nova sat on the couch next to me and we talked for a minute, and the others said hi when they saw me. 

i watched people play whirly ball for a bit, chilled while the first band played, then while the next band set up i went and found a bar chair in the lobby. one of the OTHER guys from the facebook fan group came and said hi and gave me an envelope with a ton of cool MoAM flyers in it. he also printed one of the pictures i took at the friday show and made me a custom record with that as the insert cover. it was fucking awesome but unexpected, i hadnt seen this guy all weekend even though he was at the other georgia shows. 

this was an all ages show so there were a few kids there. (including coco’s kid, she was adorable). pretty standard set again. i was feeling kinda crappy so this show felt weird to me, but it was still a lot of fun. at the end they pulled up a few kids to play bass and drums, and it was awesome. i found those kids after the show and gave em some stickers. they were so excited. 

i waited around after the show for a while again. avona nova told me she was gonna find the merch they brought so i could get some pins for my friends but mostly i didnt want to leave. she also asked if i wanted to take another picture with all 4 of them but star crunch and birdstuff were out of sight so i just took one with her, and then coco. shes so sweet. 

i met one more dude from the facebook group, this time a guy that came with his kid. they were both so excited to be there and it was adorable. he saw one of the pictures i had posted of a huge leaf i found at the georgia botanical gardens and showed me one he had taken earlier that day of his son with the same type of big fucking leaf (it was as big as him!). I gave them some stickers, and then they left. i think they had a bit of a drive. 

i hung around for a bit longer, talked to a few more people but there wasnt anything special really. some ladies really liked the jumpsuit i wore (lol). eventually i was ready to leave and birdstuff gave me a hug ( :)) ). he was worried about me driving back and offered to find me a hotel room. he also said to “make sure you stop at a rest stop if you start getting tired” which is exactly what my mom would say, lmao. it was sweet though. i said goodbye to him and daniel (the sound guy) and left. 

i got gas and then cried while i was driving because i had such a perfect weekend and i wasnt really ready for it to end. but like i was getting sick and ready to go home. anyway i drove home overnight (like 10 hours). 

anyway i had the most fun i’ll probably ever have for the rest of my life and it was worth the long fucking drive. my only regret is being too anxious to eat and not doing more shopping.
