Just wanted to make a little gush post but like GOD I HAVE SOOO MANY FEELINGS ABOUT AND FOR DORIAN!! ,,>W<,,

Like, I know a lot of people are juiced up about Trap Dorian but I'm just like, he's hot and I'd let him do kinky stuff to me but that's like a small part of the appeal. Like, REALLY small.

Let's start out with his introduction, shall we? So he's literally the second dateables we meet in the game and right out the gate he tells you that he'd like to be friends.

He speaks to you in a very straightforward and blunt manner. He speaks to the player about everything in this way whether it be himself, other objects, or the concept of the world beyond the house that the game takes place in.

Like he's SO EASY TO TALK TO!! He tells you exactly what he wants, is quick to assert his boundaries, and gives one no space to misinterpret anything he says! As a person with two anxiety disorders and some flavor of neurodivergence, I find this SUPER comforting as well as very grounding. I often have the fearful bubbling of "what ifs" and "whys" brewing around in the back of my head that I have trouble with. Being with Dorian means that those thoughts would be torn away from any logical grounds cause he'd be quick to correct me if I'm not getting something right and/or if I need clarification. It just makes me feel very safe in multiple ways! /(,,^w^)/

Despite of or perhaps partially because of his blunt way of speaking, one may expect him to be all serious and stern. And I mean, he is but ALSO HE'S GENUINELY FUNNY AND SILLY AT TIMES!! IT'S SOOOO CUTE GUYS LIKE I END UP SMILING LIKE A FOOL WHEN HE TELLS JOKES IN GAME/POS POS POS (>\\W//<) My favorite one is definitely when he asks you if you want to, "know something special" about the office closet and you sit there thinking you're going to get more dialogue of him talking about how he feels about the room but instead he replies with a, "me too." and the conversation ABRUPTLY ENDS WHEEZE XDD I WAS CRACKING UP CAUSE THE CONTRAST BETWEEN THE LOOK ON HIS FACE, THE TONE OF HIS VOICE AND THE SITUATION FUCKING GETS ME EVERYTIME X3

OH OH! ANOTHER ONE OF MY FAVORITES IS WHEN YOU TALK TO I think it's the right side closet door(??) DORIAN AND HE DOES A LITTLE, "wee" WITH THE MOST SERIOUS LOOK ON HIS FACE? LIKE IT'S SOOO CUTE I WANT TO COVER HIM IN KISSES THEN AND THERE!! KING NEVER STOP YOU'RE HILARIOUS/POS POS POS <333

OOH OHH! ALSO ALSO! When you go to the laundry room Dorian and he tells you about Tydus! He talks about how much respect he has for her and her cause but also you get,

Like, did he, did he EAT A POD?? IDK BUT EITHER WAY THE JUMP FROM A VERY SERIOUS TO THIS THING THAT IS ALSO SERIOUS IN A WAY BUT FEELS VERY SILLY US JUST MWUAH! CHEFS KISS! Also hims face is super cute here heehee :33

Dorian has different forms which I think is a lot of fun and leads to cool conversations! My personal HC is that they all have Dorian's personality as a base but each has their own varying thoughts, likes, dislikes, and interests too! Regardless of which Dorian you're talking to, they all greet you very politely and stand where they're supposed to as immovable as a wall(ace). I adore ALL OF THEM!! LIKE, I WANT TO GET TO KNOW ALL OF THEM PERSONALLY ANF TALK AND LISTEN AND SHARE STORIES AND THINGS!! I wish that was more of a part of the game tbh! For example, I feel like the Tiny Dorian that guards Ronaldini doesn't get to talk enough or about much at all. >:T

Like, he only talks about how he's a perfectly normal door and to not comment on his height. Which is super understandable and valid! I imagine he feels like the other versions of himself and others in general don't take him as seriously as he'd like and it sucks! D: Like, same man. But also I wonder if his relationship is different between the other Dorian's or if he tends to perch on another Dorian for transportation? Has Timothy or Timmy ever chased after him like a toy mouse or a ball of yarn? Does he have a place to properly vent his frustrations over his height and is he being heard?? Like, there's SO MANY WONDERFUL WAYS TO CHARACTERIZE HIM!! I really want to meet him at his level, lift him up if he'd like. Just, actually get to know him, ya know?

You also have the Dorian that considers himself to be the most important Dorian in the entire house: Front Dorian

He's arguably got the most in depth dialogue out of all the Dorians leaving you with a ton of fun new information and thoughts! You can see this easily by just talking to him. He describes himself as, "...more ornate and impressive than other doors because I need to project a welcoming presence. But also make it clear that those who do not deserve entry stay outside."

Also, he seems to be a little bit more expressive at times and is even more fierce about his duty to protect you. This is shown especially when you ask about going outside. (ABOUTTA GO CRAZY AGAIN I LOVE THIS PART) So you ask him about going out.....

" I open up when you want me to, It's you who needs to make the decision about whether you're really ready to go out there."

"After all, you're the only one who knows the reason behind why you tend to stay inside these days."

Then you can choose between a few options for WHY you don't go out. The "right decision is the bottom most text as it's telling him point blank it's for the dateables sake. The one I ended up choosing first though was, "It's just really hard to get out these days." to which he responds,

"That's right. The very act of getting me to open up for you is too tough. Because why bother? Outside is chaotic, full of bonkers people."

Inside I am your barricade against the elements of all the rest. So for now, I'll remind you to keep indoors. Stay safe."

Like, first he's only doing stuff if you're comfortable AND THEN HE HAS TO GO AND CALL HIMSELF YOUR BARRICADE AGAINST THE ELEMENTS? HE'S LITERALLY CALLING HIMSELF YOUR SAFE PLACE? TO KEEP SAFE? THAT HE'S LOOKING OUT FOR YOU?? WHAT GETS ME MOST ABOUT IT IS HOW CASUAL THE WHOLE THING? LIKE, I KNOW IT'S ALWAYS BEEN THAT WAY SINCE HE'S THE DOOR BUT IT'S ALSO SO CASUALLY SWEET THAT THE FUCKING AIR GOT TAKEN OUT OF ME THE FIRST TIME I HEARD IT! >///> LIKE HE REALLY DOES WANNA PROTECT ME!! He cares about his job so much and by extension m-me too!! 👉👈

Can't forget about the good old broom Closet Dorian! He's located in the little closet in the back rightmost corner and MAN I AM WORRIED ABOUT HIM :((( You talk to him and right off the bat he looks and sounds sullen. Like, he greets you with,

" You've really done it now. You've found the most forgotten Dorian in the house. The laundry closet."

He then follows this up with an annoyed, "Thematically redundant. There's already a door here. There's a cabinet. Was there really a need for a closet?"

I'd wager he's pissed to be spread out more than what he believes to be an unnecessary degree but also I think the space being cramped with barely anything in it isn't helping either :( Your only dialogue choices in this part are to basically say that it's good that the door is there in a different way. Next dialogue goes,

"I doubt it. Yet you still came here. Is it.....because you truly love me?"

Following that is an option to say that you love him or to tell him that you just thought the door was cool. Saying that you love him leads to an, "I don't believe you."

Like, WHO HURT HIM?(it wasn't JUST Keith was it??) WHY IS HE TALKING LIKE SOMEONE THAT HAS BEEN ABANDONED?? ;0;

"I suppose I can tell you about all the objects who are in here.....if you even care."

NOW HE'S TALKING LIKE THEY'VE ALL BEEN ABANDONED TOO :(((

He goes on to tell you that beau(boxes) and Hoove(the vacum) are the only ones in the room with that stoic look back on his face.

"....and that's it. Nobody else. I'm done speaking of this dreadful place."

You can try to offer him some encouragement/sympathy by replying, "It's not that bad..." but he'll only respond, "Oh, woe is me." with a tired sigh.

LIKE I DON'T WANT HIM TO BE SAD AND LONELY WTF WHY IS THIS A RUNNING THEME?? Also trust issues coming in HARD in moments like this. He and Keith very clearly had a messy, maybe even unhealthy(?) relationship but I think what the first door you talk to says(the dialogue is the same regardless of what Dorian you choose) is pertinent here too:

"I've seen the complications of love. I've lived through the jealous quarrels of hate. The true bond is between friends with none of the intricacies of romantic tension."

STAN THIS ARO KING BUT LIKE WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM BEFORE?? TWT,,

I just think he has deep seated issues with trust because of whatever happened before :((

The bedroom Closet Dorian will ask you to put clean clothes in the closet whilst congratulating you on separating Dirk and Harper from one another. (They're in a toxic relationship but that's a WHOLE other thing) The way he ends the interaction is by saying, "Separation is usually what is best for us all."

AND THAT'S THAT. NOTHING ELSE FROM HIM! Saying that it's usually what's best for everyone is just, there's nothing wrong with not wanting to be romantically involved with other people but he's saying it like he means all relationships? yes, he could be referring to that fact that Harper and Dirk's endless fighting is finally over being a good thing for everyone in the house but with all the other stuff said I believe he's less trusting of people in general :(

The Closet Dorian in the office looks rather contemplative, maybe even a bit distraught? He greets you with,

"Ah....one of my closest friends, the closet. A space for imaginings, longings, and being trapped in eternal darkness."

I know that's how he greets you before returning back to his more stoic mask but again he sounds lonely and it makes me sad :( AGAIN I NEED TO DEEPLY CONNECT WITH AND GET TO KNOW HIM WHILST CHEERING HIM UP LIKE I'M HERE AND I CARE AND I WILL NEVER STOP CARING ACTUALLY!!

Trap Dorian has more obvious differences in both a physical aspect, the way he speaks, how he treats you like. Bro straight up asks if you wanna be friends with benefits whilst looking at you like this

Like, none of the other Dorians were doing that skgjbsdjg We get to hear about how he works out so he can keep his bouncer build going SKSK Like, he comes off as a bit more laid back and straight up relishes the attention from you <333

Also, Trap Dorian keeping himself under a rug on purpose because, "....this isn't a part of myself that should be out in the open." but still offering you to be fwb is a pretty big deal considering everything else!

If you reject his advances the narrator goes on to say something like, "You can't say for sure but you think he's disappointed?" and then he goes back to being all stoicism. When you return he's still got that mischievous air about him but it's quite obvious that he's shut off a part of himself to you now.

Bonus: Dorian from behind who is looking out at the backyard and feels awkward about talking like this SKSK
