Landduo is just living rent free in my brain cause where else do you find two immortals who have spent at least three worlds together and they still manage to ramp up their chaotic relationship and this time successfully drag many people into their divorce?

For a bit of context I have followed this duo for quite a while, Foolish was one of the first people I watched regularly from the DSMP after I discovered Techno because Foolish was building the DreamXD statue at the time and I was curious about the server. I didn't see the prior pranks but I do have clear memories of watching Bad add different faces to the statue and building the giant cactus monstrosity in the middle of Foolish's summer home.

My Roman Empire was that fucking stream where Foolish dismantled the entirety of Bad's home and moved it to the new world, it took him several hours and I never found the VOD again [if anyone has it please drop it in the replies, I want to rewatch it].

Like these two have been weird about each other for YEARS lol.

Then we went from DSMP to the QSMP where they only reinforced their dynamic is one not even they know but it screams immortal energy without them even feeding into it too much lore-wise. Because between the threats of bodily harm and banter, they trusted each other with their kids implicitly. Not a single question about if the other would break it, simply they knew they could be sure the other would care for their most precious family members.

Because on some level, they see one another as family. They would never admit it out loud, the moments they show such are as rare as the compliments they pay one another. But they know no matter the world they share, the other isn't far away. The universe delights in placing them together, in spite of everything.

They are rivals. They are confidants. They hate each other. They'd kill anyone else who disrespects the other. Only Bad can kill Foolish. Only Foolish can die to Bad.

Death hungers to feast on Life, and Life willingly gives in each time hoping to hold back the destruction Death can wrought if left unchecked.

The Realm is a culmination of who they are. They dragged everyone into their thousandth divorce, showing parts of their personality they rarely do for the sake of unsettling each other and the mortals they find themselves surrounded by. The factions were always a plan but they were apparently moved ahead [I think I remember Tubbo saying this but take that with a grain of salt] because Foolish rocked up day 1 and declared himself King. Which, predictably, Bad did not like and immediately created an opposition to the faction his rival formed.

But they mirror each other unconsciously; Bad declared Foolish a tyrant and became one himself. Foolish states Bad's heart beats with both kindness and chaos but what was last nights one versus one if not impulsive chaos? After an extensive talk about how the PVP on that server is unsustainable and not quite balanced properly, geared more towards leveling than fighting each other specifically.

They are driving me INSANE man, like I keep seeing parallels and differences everywhere I look, which includes characters like the one Tubbo plays where he feeds into their chaos.

Creation [Tubbo] is encouraging Death to ravage the server and attempt to force everyone to under his rule, Life willing to sacrifice himself to satiate the bloodlust for just a bit longer and perhaps give them a few more moments to think.

Its poetic. It's disorder incarnate. Its the natural cycle of life and death personified.

It's Bad and Foolish, arguing again for the thousandth time but this world is one they have gotten the whole server involved and I agree with Foolish's points last night of yellow and green will never peacefully coexist and at the end of it who will remain standing?

I, for one, don't think its the mortals that have earned their protection. I think it will be the immortals who are treating this world like a playground until there is no sanity or reason left, something to match their dynamic that will forever rage onwards cause that's their form of affection and companionship.

And where else do you find a dynamic like theirs? We don't understand it and neither do they, and that's what makes it all the more fascinating, entertaining, and irritating in the best way.

C!Dream/Punz/Foolish would have a really interesting dynamic! I think actually working together, c!foolish and c!Punz would probably kinda hate each other because they're such opposites (positive). Like Dream and Foolish parallel each other even in the ways they differ they're just two sides of the same coin but Punz genuinely believes in The Plan he legit thinks the murder and ultimate control are Cool and Good and actively enables Dream's destructive tendencies (all of these things are things I adore about cpunz he's literally deranged I love him).

At the same time Punz also genuinely cares very deeply about Dream and harbors deep seated rage towards the people who've hurt him (see the stream where he tells purpled about the torture). Which puts Punz and Foolish into a very elite club together called "Being Appalled by the Prison Conditions and Specifically the State Sanctioned Torture" The clubs founder is Techno.

Honestly I think it's the fact they're both disgusted by the torture that would bond them together, again there's like maybe 4 people on the server who treat the torture as the horrific thing it was. A lot, and I mean a lot, of people brush it off.

Still, Foolish is a builder who only strikes back after continuous provocation. Punz is literally a gun for hire. There's some fundamental morals that would clash against each other. BUT at the same time Foolish is very friendly and no one is really off limits from becoming his buddy. He did befriend his murderers after all <3 another element is Sapnap has beef with dream and foolish which is genuinely such a funny connection between them especially since he has no reason to hate foolish he just fucking does 😭

Tl;Dr: Foolish and Punz would have some strong fundamental disagreements about the other but ultimately come together over their collective hatred for how Dream was treated in the prison. Also Foolish is just a goofy silly guy and everyone loves goofy silly guys

George also couldn't make it, 'cause man couldn't travel, so he supported you with a live reaction of the awards ft. the clingy duo and Aimsey who was only there to help George supervise the other two amd cheer for you

Out of all the friends you decided to invite to the ceremony, you had invited the most chaotic ones. And obviously I'm talking about Karlnapity who couldn't stop screaming and jumping and dancing when your name was called. Embarassing, but appreciated haha

Bad and Skeppy also supported you from home, both not streaming and just enjoying your win privately. They did bombard your phone with congratulations tho

Wilbur, Phil and Niki were lucky enough to attend the awards and, unlike the previous mentioned trio, they were just happily clapping for you. A few whistle here and there from Wilbur and Phil. But at one point the camera panned towards them and Phil showed his phone which had a discord call with Techno lol

Eret, Punz, Foolish, Sam and Charlie where also there, happily cheering for you and making chaos when the camera showed them on the big screen. For some reason I feel like Punz, Foolish and Sam would hold up a poster with your face on it that they stole from the fans outside xD

Dream SMP however it's the Twisted Boys doing the roleplay.

They were recording it because why not and did not expect the popularity it would get.

Yuu is Wilbur. Especially with the cursed lore. There have been many attempts to get them to stop. They all failed.

Riddle basically has Bad's roleplay role and is quite proud of The Egg Arc.

Ace is Tommy and Epel is Dream. Deuce is Tubbo. Sebeck is Sapnap. And Jack is George because he's not that into the heavy stuff.

You chose who everyone else is essentially playing as. Just wanted to share this.

I actually have like a few pages in a notebook about this. The cast list goes as follows:

Dream: Lilia (Mainly because Diasomnia is a strong af group and they do fit the “intimidating enemies” vibe.)

George: Malleus (Mainly because of King George in that one arc, plus with the lore of Dream and George being very close during that time. Though Jade takes George’s role during the Manberg/Pogtopia arc)

Sapnap: Silver (I find it funny that Silver, who is calm and also really low energy, is Sapnap, who has very high energy.)

Tommy: Ace (Come on, it’s obvious. Those two would be friends if Tommy traveled to Twisted Wonderland)

Anyways, even if this is my general idea, your idea sounds amazing! I’ve written a lot of other DreamSMP inspired ideas on my blog, involving Yuu, Rook, and Jamil being Tubbo, Techno, and Eret on their way to beat up Crowley (Sam) for taking Grim (Micheal). There was also another time where I wrote Tubbo’s Checkmate scene with our classic quartet.

I like your castings, though! I totally agree that Yuu would be the one to make up cursed lore (”I gave birth to Grim, he’s my son, and his other parent is a tree!”) I also like Riddle being BBH, which means Trey would probably be Skeppy, and WHOOO BOY THE ANGST. Thinking about Sebek as Sapnap does make sense, and I could totally see him and Ace fighting early in the SMP. Though, idk about Jack being Gogy, since George basically sleeps a lot, which I don’t see Jack doing at all.

Anyways, that’s just my cup of tea. I really like this idea tho! :0

c!Dream mentioned today that c!Quackity has betrayed c!Sam before, and c!Sam agreed. I can’t call to mind a specific event that would constitute c!Quackity betraying c!Sam, and I also can’t really take c!Sam’s corroboration with any weight, considering the power dynamic between those two… so what is c!Dream referring to here? Or is he just lying to undermine c!Foolish’s relationship with c!Q and forcing c!Sam to back him up?

I see we’re all of one mind :) I also cannot think of anything specific that Dream is referencing here!

Sam agrees with Dream, sure, but it’s in the exact same way that he’s been agreeing with Dream all stream. None of it’s sincere, he’s saying whatever he thinks Dream wants to hear to try to protect Foolish, Quackity, and himself. Sam stutters and mumbles, then he volunteers that Quackity betrayed him “multiple” times. Then when Foolish asks him about specifics of the timing, before or after Las Nevadas, he says, nonsensically, “around that time.” Which Dream follows up with the even dumber “throughout.”

But what is interesting is the way that Dream brought it up.

Dream had no shortage of real betrayals (besides his torture of course) to bring up. He could have referenced the Butcher Army, or his own attempted assassination, or Karl’s death and the whole framing debacle. Hell, depending on how many details of Quackity’s shenanigans in Las Nevadas he’s learned, he could have brought up things there.

There are a couple of pragmatic reasons Dream might want to make Sam appear to agree with him about Quackity’s tendency towards duplicity, of course. Foolish seems to trust Sam, Dream has just told Foolish he has deeply personal reasons to hate Quackity, and Foolish knows Sam and Quackity were working together. But, well, it does seem pretty damn farcical for Dream to expect Foolish to blindly believe the words he’s obviously putting in Sam’s mouth (especially once Dream leaves). Sam is not a very convincing liar when his heart isn’t in it.

So, really, like many things he said this stream, that leads me to conclude it was mostly to make a point to Sam. Which of these points are more consciously intentional and which are less are up to you :)

1) Sam has to agree with whatever Dream says, no matter how false, stupid, or humiliating. He has to lie for him, without even being asked. Power play.

2) Sam has to specifically condemn Quackity, his partner in crime, the man he trusted with Dream’s life day after day after day, and he has to condemn Quackity in front of a friend.

3) Sam has to admit that he’s been tricked or outsmarted or ill-used: in essence, he has to admit that he made a mistake in trusting Quackity.

4) Sam has to face the idea that Quackity’s actions throughout Dream’s torture were a betrayal of the office Sam held.

5) Sam has to face the idea that Quackity did in fact, in one sense, seek to betray Sam: with his attempt to kill Techno and his intention to kill Dream, he was knowingly undermining Sam, and Dream and Sam both realized it. That was the reason Sam barred him from the prison and lied to him.

Fundy’s Stream

Fundy’s back! He confirmed that the Egg, BBH, and the Dreamons are all connected

Ranboo was roaming on Fundy’s stream, he mostly walked around similar to an NPC and moved blocks, ignoring Fundy and Puffy’s attempts to talk to him. He only stopped moving when Puffy stared him in the eyes, who claimed that she was frozen and couldn't move until he broke eye contact

Tommy’s Stream

The Big Innit Hotel is underway. Sam Nook asked Tommy to investigate the Egg before work could continue. BBH and Antfrost showed him the egg, but he was unaffected. BBH was very displeased with this, and says he’ll deal with Tommy later. It’s implied he want’s to kill him

Antfrost’s eyes are magenta now, and he’s speaking enchantment table

Tubbo investigated the Egg with Tommy. He was affected, but it only made him cry. A lot. BBH and Antfrost pull out weapons and start to threaten the two when they try to leave the Egg room. Sam Nook arrives as backup and they book it to the Holy Land

Ranboo’s Stream

Ranboo goes out adventuring with Techno. Turns out his silk touch hands can break spawners, though they default back to pig spawners when broken

He can also break an eaten cake to get a full, non eaten cake. Meaning he can create infinite cake.

Punz offered to trade the shulker for a spawner, but Ranboo decided to think on it

Tales from the SMP

The Lost City of Mizu is an abandoned, underwater city set hundreds of years in the future. The last remaining resident is a half enderman, half something hybrid named Ranbob, who claims to be a descendant of Ranboo

Mizu is filled with many shrine-like rooms dedicated to various Lmanburg citizens. These rooms have history books in them describing both the people and historic events, though they are largely inaccurate and missing many details

At the the final room, Ranbob says that no one can leave Mizu, and murders Cleetus (Quackity). The others escape to a hidden room. Benjamin (BBH) slips and dies to lava, leaving just Isaac (Karl) and Charles (Ranboo). At the true final room, they find a shrine to Dream. Ranbob finds them here and kills them, and the screen goes black. A version of Dearly Beloved plays out for the rest of the stream

Karl wakes up outside some sort of time travel portal. He runs to his library and begins to write down what happened at Mizu. He writes that every time he time travels, he starts to forget more and more memories. He talks about trying to fix the current timeline before something terrible happens

Karl’s hoodie has been inverted

An// Im back!! I have 2 more weeks of school and then I am on winter break!! I have two stories I want to write up so rn this is a quick short blurb.

Hello again Y/N

I know its been a long time since we have both seen eachother, its been since Schlatt's death.

Wait was it after Technos failed execution?

I sincerely think ive lost track of time since then.

You know I've created Las Nevadas, it's luxurious is it not?

But now as I am writing this letter I understand that I had made this place out of isolation with me only having myself in this place. I dont know the people eho come here to have fun. They greet me because I jave money then go to the next casino, its all a blur. I have Purpled around but we barely interact.

I also have met a new friend? Someone I can actually call a friend now. He is half slime half human. Ive done alot of research on these creatures and this is something new.

I named him Slime, cause he is.

Ive been teaching him about the human life so he can take over when I soon die

I feel like I failed him with these rules I had learned over the years.

A lot of bullshit has happened over the past 11 weeks, but we can always catch up later.

The most important this is that Slime has died. He was the only friend I had after the other had betrayed me. I dont even want to write that bastards name.

Slime's human part has died but I persevered his slime counterpart. I have him recovering in a small room. He had finally wrote something in this book I gave him. It was gibberish mess, but I went to foolish and it spelled out LEGACY

I guess I taught him something

I named him Charlie, he was human and he will be human one day again.

I will make sure of it. And he is the only one I can trust right now.

Don't take it personally.

The whole point of me doing this was to set aside my pride and reach out to an old friend.

Production quality doesn't mean storyline quality. In fact, it might be detracting from it.

Yesterday, Tubbo and Ranboo talked about the shift from pure improv to pre-planned lore on the dsmp and how it's impacted content creation. This, combined with reading about how Karl feels he can't do casual smp stuff on his main - because it would be a dip in quality - got me thinking about the consequence of this progression on the story as a whole.

Karl is someone who puts loads of effort and time into building both the plot and setting of Tales From the SMP. I think it shows; Tales is an awesome sort of sub-series with a cool premise. But, and I mean this in the kindest way possible, a lot of his personal storyline lacks observable character development.

C!Karl is kind of a blank canvas because we don't get to see the moments between the big plot points. Those moments where Karl is chilling in Kinoko Kingdom and talking to Sapnap and you think oh, these people love each other, or there's an undercurrent of tension with the knowledge that Karl's forgetting what's right in front of him, or both. That's what's missing, and we don't know much about him or how he's feeling as a result.

Having a story restricted to its most significant beats - the driving plot points of the story - detract from the story as a whole. It's all payoff with no setup. The original festival would not have been as significant if not for the slow development of both the Manberg Cabinet and the internal affairs of Pogtopia. The exile arc would've been nothing if it had just cut to Tommy on top of the pillar right away. The Bedrock Bros' split was punctuated by all the moments of happiness and unity they had.

One of the most unique things about the dsmp's story is that it expands beyond what the viewers see. We exist with the knowledge that when a streamer signs off, their character is still going about their life. Ranboo is out there enderwalking, Foolish is making blueprints, Techno is hibernating and Phil is playing with trains in his basement. The world is vibrant because it feels like an actual world; it feels lived-in.

When you take away the "filler" parts of a story, it becomes empty. When every stream has to be significant, it feels like the characters only exist for those significant moments. That's fine, and if that's what the creators want I respect their decisions, but the notion that casual dynamics are somehow worth less than the movie-esque "lore streams" is ridiculous. We need the everyday occurances for the dramatic moments to actually be dramatic. We need the characters to be people - with wants and needs and relationships of whatever kind - for us to care about them. High-production is awesome, but it doesn't inherently mean anything.

Can we get some dream smp fandom positivity posts? As someone who posts mostly analysis and has never once had someone say anything rude in response, I think we perceive the fanbase as more toxic than it is because of a few outspoken individuals. Y'all are pretty chill and I like you.

In no particular order-

I love that Eret’s fans come up with such cool theories, I swear she could give you two sentences of lore and I could see three five page essays on what it could mean about their character within an hour and each of them is unique, intricate, and makes logical sense.

I love the compilations Foolish fans make of him doing ridiculous things on stream, he’s a fun guy that never fails to make me laugh and everything I see from them embodies that energy to me.

I love how creative Hannah’s fans are, you take the awesome ideas she has and turn them into the most amazing designs and concepts.

I love that Techno’s fans might write a ten page essay about his character or just say they enjoy watching him do crime, and you never know which it will be because both come from the same people.

I love how Philza’s fans embrace everything he does with so much enthusiasm. His chat is a flock of crows? Excellent, they can work with that, you will see fifty incredible pieces of art and a hundred theories in the first hour and they’re just getting started.

I love that Niki’s fans are so careful to pay attention and not miss any details. It has been ages and I still see occasional mentions and theories about the “Dear Friend” letter.

I love that Fundy’s fans are very empathetic, they love to find and elaborate on the connections between characters and that’s pretty cool!

I love Tommy’s fans for their energy. They seem passionate about making things right and hopeful that no matter what your situation is things can get better. I’ve seen so many breathtakingly emotional art pieces from this side of the fandom.

I love that George’s fans unapologetically simp for him but then catch me off guard by making deep insights about his character.

I love how Bad’s fans are as genuinely sweet as he is, they’re willing to really look at everything that makes up a character and see the tragedy of it and have compassion about things. And some just want to see an egg rule the server, c'mon, it would be funny.

I love the running gag with Skeppy fans of making Skeppy critical posts, y’all are hilarious.

I love how Purpled fans play up his lack of lore as him being an incredibly powerful cryptid, and they’re right. He totally carried the wither fight on Nov 16th.

I love the balance Quackity fans have between a love of humor, justice, and darker topics. I think like Quackity they are often underestimated and thought of as the jokester side of the fandom to an extent, and then I start reading things they write and it’s well thought out and insightful.

I love that Tubbo’s fans love chaos, cute things, or both to an unhealthy extent. Seeing anything from them reminds me of princess unikitty in all the best ways, and then they turn around and throw a super in depth meaningful analysis at me in the next breath.

I love everything about Sapnap’s fans. Y'all are perfect. The writing and art from the born in fire line? Gold.

I love how Jschlatt fans are generally chill and just enjoy whatever they want to. Their favorite Manburg president was the one who publicly executed his right hand man and gave Dream a resurrection book for firepower, and he looked good doing it.

I love that Callahan has fans. You people are dedicated and I respect it. The fact that Callahan was one of the first names to pop up when everyone was trying to figure out who Harpocrates was even though he rarely involves himself with plot? Your influence knows no bounds.

I love that Alyssa’s fans are simply too powerful. She hasn’t played on the smp since way before I started watching and there are still people defending her barn and drawing pictures of her.

I love that Antfrost’s fans have taken so many ideas and just ran with them and made them awesome. Like him practicing magic? Perfect, he now carries potions and gets a wizard hat.

I love that Dream fans look at a character who has been portrayed as pure evil from many points of view and understand that Everyone has motives based on their situation, even if it isn’t handed to us in an easily understood way.

I love how Jack’s fans are so ready to support any action he takes. Crawling out of hell? Incredible. Killing a child? Good for him! Go team Rocket. Grieving the same child? Learning healthy coping, he’s the coolest.

I love that Connor eats Pants fans are the most reasonable people in this fandom. This is terrifying. Thank you for your service, you always make me smile.

I love that Punz fans unapologetically just love their capitalist mercenary. As they should, his presence always tips the scales and everything he does brings more depth to the characters and plots he interacts with.

I love how much Ranboo fans love complexity. Most of them aren’t afraid to admit that their favorite characters are flawed, because aren’t those flaws what make them interesting and relatable?

I love the variety of Hbomb fans. Half of them may be embracing the cat maid bit while the other half goes on about how impactful and cool L’cast is, but they’re all super chill.

I appreciate that Puffy fans take the time to understand so many perspectives. So many posts I see involving her tie in lore from other characters and find interesting ways to connect them and build them together, kind of like Puffy herself.

I love that Wilbur fans seem to approach the story like they’re solving a puzzle, carefully piecing together details from months apart to figure out how and why everything goes down.

I love how hard Ponk fans work to spread awareness of how awesome he is. Ponk says and does wonderful things and is very fun to watch. I never would have tried his content without them.

I love that Karl fans saw him wanting to be involved and started coming up with such cool ideas around his character that they actually made them canon. Correct me if I’m wrong, wasn’t the time traveler thing a fan theory at first?

I love the creativity Sam fans have with his design and their willingness to discuss complex moral issues. Sam is involved in some heavy lore stuff but he and his fans keep things entertaining and calm.

Two years.

Two years without him.

In August of 2022 I was hanging in a VC with a close friend, when both of us have trouble sleeping we will often hop in a VC and chill until we get tired. During one of these sessions he introduced me to Technoblade by showing me the Sad-ist animations, and I was enthralled *instantly*. Then that bastard /aff left for a week, leaving me to dive headfirst into one of the longest running fixations I have ever had.

I watched a single EvanMCgaming video about the DSMP lore, then proceeded to binge the rest and the rest is history.

My first few videos of Techno's content were : Doomsday, the jail podcast and Techno & Ranboo's excellent adventure, kicking off my love of Boreal Trio. I consumed every bit of content I could, falling into watching both Phil and Ranboo who regularly streamed between long sessions of watching every Techno video I could.

I found a dynamic in that trio in the north I will forever be fond of, eventually extending to the Syndicate as well before I found SBI. I then mained SBI for about two years until...well...y'know. [Wilbur, for fucks sake, you rat bastard /neg].

I found so many people who I enjoy the content of through the silly pig man with an honourable nature and silly banter. At first it was simply just Boreal Trio, then it slowly extended to include so many : Eret, Sam, Tubbo, Niki, Fundy, Jack Manifold, Badboyhalo, Quackity, Karl Jacobs, HBomb, Foolish, Slimecicle, Michaelmcchill, Tina, Seapeekay, Aimsey...

Since then I have accomplished so much. I became a Twitch Mod for Eret [still am, they are an amazing person and streamer]. I've written over 700k on A03. I have made lifelong friends. I found my passion for creativity and was able to channel it once more. I found a home and a safe place.

It lead me into following DSMP to the bitter end, same with QSMP and now I mainly hang around Hermitcraft while still indulging my past fixations.

And it always comes back to Technoblade. He was the key to me finding a sanctuary to be myself in this crazy world and provides me comfort to this day, a little bit of his soul living on through each of his friends and every time we tell his stories.

So do this Voice a favour. Keep telling those legends. Speak the tales far and wide about this fantastic man who was gone too soon but fought a fantastic fight. He brought joy and light to everyone, inspiring hundreds of thousands. He is special enough to be remembered by millions, and has helped bring funding to a rare form of cancer after his death.

Technoblade changed the world, both mine and everyone else's.

I miss Technoblade, but he will never die in our hearts.

I just wish I could tell him thank you, just once, for how much he helped and inspired me.

i'm watching foolish's stream rn and i find it so crazy that like... everyone thinks that dream is still the same dream they locked up. foolish is talking about using him as leverage (oof), chat and foolish are both saying that "dream is very powerful, he could probably do some damage" (paraphrased), and so on. like... idk why but it really highlights to me how techno is kind of the only person who thinks about the ethics of things, you know? techno was the only person who suspected dream might not be doing very well, is in need of allies, isn't the same person anymore, or even that the prison is just bad and keeping him in inhumane conditions.

and this is kind of why techno is my favorite character. he thinks about this kinda shit and is so dedicated to stopping the suffering of others, while basically the entire SMP wants to inflict suffering, even if they think it's for something good. not even like. the other syndicate members are like this. technoblade has done such a 180 with his character but also hasn't. he's always wanted to protect and fight for what's good, his horizons have just expanded, and i love that so much for him

c!Ranboo's character is such an interesting character, but there's one catch, a vast majority of the fandom has made his failing memory his character defining trait, which is where I think a huge problem comes in.

Because... okay, let's get into it. (Tagged long post bc this gets long <3)

c!Ranboo's identity shouldn't be centered around his memory stuff.

His issues with memory & cognition should be one of his character weaknesses/flaws/conflict, but his character shouldn't be centered around it.

Rather it should be moreso centered around his strong ideals, because even Ranboo's supposed core beliefs of being a centrist isn't even his strong ideals.

His strongest ideals have always been the safety of his friends and family, and doing the morally right thing, not the lawfully right thing.

Ranboo's character is far too centralized about him having memory issues, because when you just ignore that you see so many interesting character traits about him.

For example, he's funny. He has humor in most situations and can usually joke his way out of things- like his conversations with Quackity.

He's also very imposing which isn't intentional but it sort of just comes with what he is. He's a tall enderman hybrid who is very logical and rational in most senses, and he very often voices his thoughts in conversation. Again, you can see this with Quackity, Slimecicle, Foolish and Wilbur.

He also has a very mysterious aura that comes from his enderwalk and nighttime antics.

His knack for potions, enchanting, and smithing comes into play here too, as well as his wealth.

Because he's not snobbish or regal (like osmp!ranboo) and is actually pretty charitable with his wealth. He paid Foolish a lot more than originally asked, gave him totems, and even did that whole shulker deal.

And he's like, super smart because he thinks rationally. This is in such wild contrast to his friends- because Tommy & Tubbo are pretty impulsive.

c!Ranboo is super interesting, but his whole character shouldn't be defined by his memory issues. It should've always been about his relationships, because in reality that's what is most important to him.

He was friends with Niki and Fundy and I remember watching streams during New L'manburg where he really struggled with deciphering who was in the right & wrong, and that's when he realized there isn't any sort of black/white side, and there's a whole lot of gray.

Because yeah, he and Tommy had griefed George's house- but Tommy also took all blame for Ranboo. He liked Phil because Phil had saved his life. He was, at first, the epitome of people not sides. That has since changed, subtly, but that's what his character was.

There was a huge thing in New L'manburg where Ranboo would stick near the people who'd been kind to him, hence why he'd hang out with Phil (who'd saved his life in the Nether).

And like, he stuck around with Tubbo because Tubbo was kind to him, and ALSO with his contact with Tommy, he was one of the only people who could see they were both hurting during the exile era.

Ranboo had some super meaningful conversations with Tubbo that would proceed to allow Tubbo to realize the discs weren't just plastic and that Tommy's reason for clinging to them, in reality, was because to him they represented their friendship. And Ranboo was genuinely the only person at the time, other than Tommy, who saw the discs as a symbol, not an object. Then with Tommy, Ranboo would check on him, write him letters, and help in any way he could, which had helped in some way with Tommy's mental health, even if just a little.

And then later. Sure, he may live with Techno & Phil, but he chose Tubbo. Tubbo was always his priority it's the only reason he's in the syndicate- for Tubbo and Michael. And sure he's friends with Techno but it is very obvious who he'd chose if he was forced to- because he already has.

He's a centralist in the sense that he believes there are multiple sides to a story, and genuinely he's one of the very few people on the server who realize that. There are far too many people who only see good & bad, black & white, the extremes. And it's ironic that the character literally split up by black & white and his entire motif is extreme contrast, it's so ironic that he's one of the very few who actually see the shades of gray.

And I genuinely think it was interesting that not only could he see it, but he was able to show other people these sides.

It was his questioning of Doomsday I believe which would lead to some of Phil's very brief internal dialogue of 'was doomsday right?' (which, he didnt dwell on it, but it was Ranboo who'd made him even contemplate it).

It was his words that made c!Wilbur literally cry because no one had told him things like that before- related to him, believed that he wasnt 100% bad and that he could be good. Because Ranboo genuinely believes that.

In Hitting on 16, and during the Prison Breakout stream, he made choices above all else, to protect his family.

That is his primarily character trait, not his memory problems. His memory problems are a passive conflict, not an active trait.

c!Ranboo is more than the guy who has memory problems, yet that's what his character has been boiled down to. It's gotten so bad that I genuinely believe that it's carried over in part to the actual DSMP server. That's what he's known as.

So it's sort of hard for his character to grow. It becomes even harder due to the nature of his character having been passive for so long. He didn't agree with conflict, so he rarely found himself in it. Conflict isn't the only way for characters to grow within stories, but it's the primary thing that moves the story forward on the DSMP, so it becomes very hard for there to be any changes. And... cc!Ranboo absolutely tried.

Back in January of 2021 and up until the summer hiatus, Ranboo had actively been working on his character. From c!Ranboo doing secret experiments, to us getting to see him in his enderwalk state, and more, Ranboo was working on his character having some sort of change.

Then the hiatus, and pushbacks didn't help, and now he's dead. And as stated on an Origins stream, he was supposed to be revived only a few weeks after he'd died.... now how long has it been?

c!Ranboo, unfortunately and ironically is stuck in this literary limbo of being unable to move due to in story circumstances and out of story circumstances, and in my opinion a huge part of it has come from fandom interpretation effecting the way his character has gotten to move on.

c!Ranboo is such an interesting character the moment you make his memory problems a flaw or passive trait, rather than make it the key part of his character, because truly its not.

Once again, c!Ranboo is ultimately a protective, rational person. And I hope, if we do get to see him again, and he is revived, that we get to see that shine, especially if fan theories are correct in stating that he may lose his memory problems all together.

If that's the case, I think his character can really shine, and I think we can get some great moments.

He did once state that he'd start wars and kill anyone who dare touched his son, Michael. And well... not only has someone kidnapped him and held Michael for ransom, that same person killed Ranboo. I think he has plenty reason to be pissed, regardless of Michael having been rescued since.

Actually, with Michael safe, I'd say he has more room to make due on his promises, but that's just my hope.
