The Hypocrisy/Irony of Li Jing

Li Jing is an antagonist who quite literally dresses himself up as the "Hero", and whom is a weird mix of both the Lady bone Demon and Azure Lion.

First of all his colour scheme turquoise, is a colour often related to The Celistial Realm.

Notice how in the monkie kid crews "celistial realm outfits", the only colour they all have in common is turquoise.

Not even The Jade Emperor dressed himself in that much turquoise (he didnt even wear it at all). Which just goes to show how Li Jing views himself.

He even plans to become The new Jade Emperor, and will not have ANYONE stop him. (even if they arent even trying to stop him in the first place-)

Hell, as i talked about in my theory of how he might have impriossoned Nüwa, he and the rest of Celistal Realms biggest flaw is their intense focus on order.

Nezha's intense work habit in season 3 - 4 is big example of this, mixed with how accurate Azure was about the whole celistial realm system.

But honestly Li Jing just takes it to another LEVEL.

I swear, if he starts talking to Nezha about how he has: " Left his job in the Celistial Realm for the monkie kid crew"(aka leaving his "destiny"), we can very well perspectiv it back to THE LADY BONE DEMON, and her intense focus on "ORDER".

But as @lunamikobrony2 mentioned in my theory mentioned earlier:

The villians (aka. LBD and Azure Lion), have this way of wanting a "new and perfect order".

But as we saw with espically Azure Lion: Power corrups.

Azure Lion turned so quickly from: " The Jade Emepror is a fraud" to "Kneel before your emperor", in a matter of MINUTES.

Li Jing is very clearly going to do the same thing. He might even kill things he viwes as "imperfect", if we really want to make it 100% clear, that this man is A LOT like LBD.

And thats just the Hypocrisy.

The thing that honestly first caught my attention was how ironic his characther was set up VS the actual villians of the show.

Because even though both the 9 headed demon, and the 100 eyed demon were both shown in the trailer, LI JING, was the one clearly shown as the most "villianous", or atleast "antagonistic"

He is literally shown WORSE than two DEMONS. And some demons with some quite horrifying designs too i must say.

It honestly reminds me of how Belos, from the owl house, was also set up this way.

If you dont know, The Owl House takes place in quite literally the closest thing we got to Hell.

But is the scariest monster a demon, or a powerful evil witch?

No, the scariest guy is white cishet man from the 1600, dressed in the gold, who also thinks he is quite literally the messias. But in the end he becomes quite literally "The King of Demons."

But, what is my point with this post? What do i want to tell?

Well my entire point with this is to point out how their is such a faint line between good and evil in this show.

And this is just scratching the surface of it. Because if this keeps being proven right in season 5, I will make an entire analysis video about this after the new season is out.

The Celistial Realm VS The Mortal Realm VS The Underworld.

The wording's rather obvious- it's not about herding up enemy soldiers, but hunting down another species, another race, another kind. That's exactly the type of reasoning Nazis used- Jews were something different, inferior. Dehumanization is a significant part of their ideology.

What about non-combatant members of Second Army? Healers, "untrained" Materialki, Grisha working for nobles? Those are weapons too?!

Like- we've already established nobody cares about the free-range Grisha (unless it's drüskelle in need of promotion), but even Second Army includes those, who aren't the first line of defence! Who won't be used to be attacked.

They are people, who are fighting back, so though the drüskelle are hateful and carry a lot of prejudice with them, it is not the same as them going after innocent civilians.

I'll make it even more obvious- would you say rape doesn't count as such, when its victim learnt self-defense before it happened?!

Rally Games

Art of Rally:

I am looking at art of rally as it is a simple rally racing game although unlike all others ths uses a simple low poly design. Though being so simple it provides a beautiful, calming driving experinence. I like the games aethetics but the main reason I look at this game is for mechanics which you may be wondering why there isn't particularly anything special to it; well I like the camera perspective this game offers to the player as you can see the whole vehicle and the track ahead and all the surroundings so it isn't just focusing on the driver but the environment around them too. It would also be a helpful mechanic if I have a ghost ai to race being Audi for example who you have to beat and this will obviously have to be a ghost as you cant have 2 neck and neck next to eachother.

WRC:

I look at WRC 6 as it is a game I played and it is incredibly realistic yes it is the more modern rally compared to '83 but it still shows a realisitic rally game quite well as it has car damage mechanic and it tells you the turns and bends coming up in the rally coordination speech and its on a timer. Its controls are also really interesting due to the fact it controls a lot like a rally car as it has all the power and you are skidding everywhere so you have to find a knack to it after playing a while rather than just being able to go in and do it. Personally I dont want my game to be like this as it is supposed to be a story simulation and I want people to learn the story and find it fun. Although I would use this art style for my game though as it is supposed to be a simulation of real world events I think I should do it the justice of making it look realistic to suit the story. Mechanics wise I would like to use the warnings system like this has in place if I make it in first or 3rd person (chase cam) although I may make it just sharp left/right or gradual left/right rather than rally driver vernacular as it can be difficult to grasp especially if you arent a rally fan.

Colin Mcrae Rally:

I am looking at this game as it is the closest game to the time I can think of though it also has some mechanics I would like to use which I thought of after looking at WRC6 being the colour coded turns and bends so lighter bend is green, harder it orange and sharp bend is red this isnt an accurate way to measure compared to WRC although it works well for casual racing which is what I want it to be I dont want my players to not witness the story because the driving it too overly realistic and confusing. I also came across another idea rather than having a ghost ai or timer I could just have a leaderboard like this game where rather than time display you just drop or climb on the board which may be an option if I come across time constraints but otherwise I think I will do one of the other options as it is just more fun to have the game tell a story and also having a timer/charcater to beat as it adds to the thrill and competition of the game like a real rally.

FEATHERs. FEATHERS ON DINOSAURS. /POS i love it so much, its so cool. even if its thought that larger dinos such as t-rex didnt have feathers, dinosaurs like Archaeopteryx?? BELOVED!! its so fucking cool! AND VELOCIRAPTOR, TOO! murder chickens... /pos

AND CLAWS TOO! i feel people forget that dinosaurs are animals too, and they'd adapted to their environments, as animals do! people also seem to forget that dinosaurs arent some movie monster made up by jp or something, they didnt kill everything in sight bc that would take more energy than just killing one or two meals to fill themselves would what's the point in chasing after that other alive thing when you just killed something and its right in front of you to eat?

i also also dont think some people realise quite how incredibly rare finding things such as preserved skin and tails and feathers is!! the amount of events that have to line up for that to happen is amazing!!!

AND DINOSAURS WERENT THE ONLY COOL PART! theres pterosaurs, reptiles, bugs, plants, fish... EVERYTHING!!! theyre all so cool! hell even the Earth itself! its all so fuckin cool dude! have you SEEN how big those ancient bugs are? how cool pterosaur skeletons look? even leaf-prints in rocks are cool! and its so interesting to think how we'll probably never truely know how things like prehistoric sharks looked. cartilage n all that!! its why we only have the teeth!

everyone knows dinosaurs and birds are related, but more specifically; birds, dinosaurs, and crocodilians are all archosaurs! IIRC crocodilians have been super helpful in figuring out certain dinosaurs' muscles! so have birds, actually!

onto my favourite dinosaurs: AUSTRORAPTOR! my favourite dromaeosaur.

its thought to have been piscivorous!!! which is super interesting and i love it so much! its also a pretty obscure raptor from what i know, which is kinda sad ive always loved dromaeosaurs and how bird-like they actually are; theyre among the dinos thought to be feathered.

and theres also BARYONYX! my first ever favourite dinosaur.

theyre spinosaurids, and therefore related to spinosaurus! unlike spinosaurus, they lack a sail, but were also likely mostly piscivorous (if you cant tell, i tend to lean towards piscivores for some reason) their headshape is so interesting to me and im not sure why but. look at it! its so funky! /pos fun fact; their name means Heavy Claw, after the large claws on their hands!

back to misc dinosaur rambling;

its always really annoyed me when people 'shrinkwrap' dinosaurs, (referring to when dinosaur reconstructions will be very close to the bone, almost like. starving-looking) give em some muscle! give em some bulk! but not too much they werent balloons either theres a nice middle-ground somewhere in there, im yet to personally hit it with my style, though that weird bone that some skeletons have between their legs? thats part of their pelvis! it doesnt stick out weirdly, its nicely tucked away, yknow, inside them, like a skeleton should be! their stomach doesnt stick tight to their ribs, theyve gotta have organs somewhere. and thats where those go!

i always love it when reconstructions go a little wacky with colours and crests, though! crests we see on skeletons (dilophosaurus for example) may not have been the full size of the crest, as its possible it was larger, but composed of mostly cartilage instead of bone!

and i dont mean to push herbivores out of the spotlight, they deserve one too! their feet are rlly cool! yknow how so many toys of dinosaurs like triceratops have those weird elephant-sorta feet? iirc thats not accurate!! they had more obvious toes! as for biped herbivores, duckbills are so cool! their skulls look awesome! (and the sounds that scientists and palaeontologists have speculated they may have made are even cooler!)

AND DINOSAUR PARENTING/EGGS! oviraptor, right? that egg-thief? those were actually its own eggs! that was a mother guarding its nest, not a little guy stealing another dino's eggs! iirc its thought that t-rex was actually a very good parent and would mate for life! (im not sure on the accuracy of that one anymore, though, it was a while ago that i heard it) occasionally we find fossilised eggs with IN TACT SKELETONS OF THE UNHATCHED DINOSAURS IN THEM! its so cool! (and very helpful for figuring out a dinosaurs life cycle, i assume)

Coprolites are fossilised animal shit! cool, right? no? well theyre actually very helpful in figuring out an animal's almost exact diet! and sometimes even behaviour! how cool is that???

TL;DR: dinosaurs are fucking incredible animals. animals, not movie monsters. and i wish more people saw them like that! and herbivores are just as cool as the carnivores everyone knows like t-rex and velociraptor! also, appreciate ALL prehistoric life, not just the dinosaurs and pterosaurs! additional: went off topic with the hair question a bit. their bright hair is all part of the transformations. regular hair dye does exist though. best way to tell is that if the eyebrow matches the hair its probably not dyed. also, quartz’s hair is naturally ginger.

also was gonna keep this in the tags but thought i might as well actually try to answer it: the question i found it hardest to answer was someone the song one. my taste in music is. a mess really. ive been listening to like the same 5 songs on repeat all day. more under the cut because i was rambling again and now its uhhh half 1am

if it helps at the time of answering that specific question i had home by cavetown on repeat, and that song reminds me of both rami and lewis. but that may be because i project onto those two a lot, and as a aro trans dude. who sucks with people skills, yeah of course i love that song.

specifically the vibes of like not knowing how to communicate (rami is fine with his friends but other people are different), the lines “ Turn off your porcelain face, I can't really think right now and this place, Has too many colors, enough to drive all of us insane” idk what the porcelain face line is supposed to mean but im picturing it as like. a mask. that you need to take off and stop hiding and rami does tend to hide when hes feeling upset, and the next two lines kinda could tie into that, like the feeling of when youre overwhelemed and just want the world to stop so you just hide somewhere. also the colours could go with chapter 3 with the chromatic abberation.

also the bit with “ my eyes went dark, I don't know where, my pupils are, But I'll figure out a way to get us out of here” just kinda sums up ramis whole hero thing with his powers and all. anyway this has turned into less what songs rami would like and why this particular song reminds me of him and lewis (lewis specifically has the hair cutting/chest hiding, [big transmasc mood], and also messy haired trainwreck who doesnt know who he is yet. also the ghosts bit)

Only a small number of the population are supers! the chances are higher in more populated cities, but unusally london has oneof the higher percentages of supers. while nobody in universe has any idea of the origins of superpowers, it does seem that powers are more likely to occur in people who would actually use their powers.

as for what powers are most common, after making a badly catagorized spreadsheet of every superpowered character ive made for this world (70% of which will probably never even be seen), turns out that elemental powers are the most common. although not all elemental powers manifest as the straight up 'controling this element' as seen in characters like lin or tsunami. for example, iris's powers would fall under shadow elemntal powers, but theyre a lot more weird that just controlling shadows.there are some abilities that have never been seen before,such as ressurection or full on time travel (aka anything that could bring a character back to life), but powers are certainly allowed to toe the line eg healing, powers involving undeath, immortality, pausing or manipulating time.

aside from that, anything goes. you could get plain old superstrength, but you could also get the ability to create dogs with your mind. other not quite rules, more guidelines are that supers are immune to their own powers hurting them (unless they were pushing themselves too hard), although the way the imminuties occur may be inconvinient to the super.

while some powers may be 'more powerful' than others, powers dont really get to be way underpowered or overpowered in comparision to others. sure being able to talk to animals may feel a bit useless compared to someone who can lift 4 tanks at once, but nobodys going to end up with a power like 'can turn into a goose but only once' or 'can grow toenails twice as fast' or 'if i sneeze i can change my hair colour'. at the same time, youre not going to get someone with the power to snap their fingers and level a city, or instantly blow up the moon or whatever.

The Skin Colour Wars (Trademark.)

Anyway the purpose of this post is just to spout my views on this topic because wherever i look, i see artists depicting yansim characters with darker skin, or saying why they draw them with darker skin, and then i see anti-SJWs yelling their noggin off. and I quite honestly do not want to reply to that even when i disagree. in fact i am kinda nervous about the responses i’ll get on this post but thats not gonna stop me!

The most argued point of the critical artists of the yansim community is that “anime/yansim is whitewashed, there should be variety” or something to that extent. people who are anti-this-notion argue that “Asian people are generally light skinned people, therefore anime is generally accurate” and honestly? i would not say either are wrong! HOWEVER. both arguments can also be argued against with more valid points. if that makes sense...

BEFORE YOU READ THIS (or dont) AND MAKE A RESPONSE: please please PLEASE be a decent human being, state your agreements or disagreements with respect to those that do not share the same viewpoint as you, and just be nice. I dont want anyone to be yelling YOU FUCKING SJW/BROWN-WASHER/ASSHOLE SBIUVKFUE because frankly that is rather childish, and honestly if you’re in this community (of a game that is to be 18+) you should know better than to act in such a way.

Argument of the critics:

Variety:

Decided to do some googling for this. Now, the variety of different racial groups in terms of numbers differ A LOT depending on which country you are in. If i remember correctly, the country i was born in and still live in to this day, South Africa, has a sort of population like this: Black people make up +/-80% of the total population. coloured people make up 8.8%, white people make up 8.4% and indian people/asian people make up 2.5% (Please note that Coloured is not a racist term in this context as it is an official term used to refer to people of mixed race, typically black/white.) while Black people are the majority, you still will see a few white/coloured people in stores or on the street. not nearly as many black people, but still a few. Putting those percentages into fractions (ooo we’re getting mathematical here!) In every group of 100 people in south africa, there are 80 black people, 9 coloured people, 8 white people, anddd lets say 3 indian/asian people. That equates to a very large racial Ratio, and shows that there arent exactly that many non-black people in the country. 

Now lets look at Japan shall we?

...There are not many non-japanese people in japan. 

According to this chart (and Wikipedia, i checked and theyre about the same) 98.5% of the population is Japanese. Round that up like you’re taught in maths and you get 99%. that is actually quite unusual, being someone from a country where there is a LOT more diversity in the population. the remaining 1% of the population are: Koreans (0.5%), Chinese (0.4%) and Other (0.6%). Putting these into fractions: out of a group of 100 people, 99 are Japanese, and 1 is a mix of Korean, Chinese, and other. So therefore it would make sense that the majority of people in anime, or other japanese media would be, of course, japanese! In terms of variety of students in Akademi (if we were to go by the statistics i found), it would make sense if, in a school of say... 800, there would be about 8 students who are NOT Japanese. Though the chance of them being people who are not Asian is rather slim (not impossible, but slim).

With that, we come to the conclusion that majority of the characters would make sense to be japanese! 

But does that make the arguments of people that are anti the critics the correct argument?

Now we come to:

Colour

Let’s turn to our trusty friend, Google, and search for some images of Japanese people!

Yeah do you see what i’m getting at here? No? well then, allow me to elaborate!

The japanese people i found in google are kind of ‘pale’ but they are NOT close to pure white. Anime? I sifted through a few different screenshots in different anime, and many of the characters tend to be a very pale nearly-milky white. 

In fact, i selected the colours of each person in these images and put them on a canvas in Sai. on the left, we have the colours selected from the one of lightest parts of the Japanese people in the photos. on the right, we have K-On and Madoka Magica skin colours.

Anyway. My point is, There is no harm in people colouring a character in a different skin colour. When i went to kindergarten, kids would colour in pictures of santa and give him dark brown skin! are you going to go yell at them for not drawing a “canonically” white character with dark skin? No! You wouldn’t because hopefully you’re not that horrible. Although majority of people in japan are Japanese that does not equate into everyone being exactly like they are in anime. Yes, people who are japanese may very well have a milky pale skin colour, but that isnt always. There’s a stereotype throughout almost EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY, and that is: the more pale you are, the more beautiful you are. This stereotype is a very common belief to many people of every single race on this earth. This stereotype is commonly presented in many forms of media including, you guessed it, Anime. They make the characters pale so they look like the typical beauty standard. Not many forms of media go against this because it isnt typically beneficial from a monetary stand point (or so it’s believed). So yeah. Those are my thoughts. BYEEE
