Deltarune classpects because why the hell not
Kris- Page of Heart
Ralsei- Mage of Light
Susie- Maid of Blood
Noelle- Witch of Space
Berdly- Thief of Time
Asriel- Sylph of Hope
Dess- Heir of Void
Some justifications and other stuff:
It's a 7 person party, I kind of like the idea that Dess gets lost in the void, and they find Ralsei who helps them recover her
Pages often lack their aspect at the start of the session, thus Kris lacks their own identity. Pages also often serve knights irl. I debated a whole lot between heart and breath (tbh i just felt like i had far too many canon classpects that I was starting to second guess everything)
Kris's land probably has moss in the name somewhere
Ralsei seems pretty self explanatory, while in canon he may be a prince of darkness, in homestuck he would be a light player, as they tend to know more than they should, and heavily connected to knowledge. Also mages seem to have a somewhat more complicated relationship with their aspects, or be very unlucky in it. Derse dreamer, he is surprisingly pessimistic but claims its just realism, and it ties into the darkness aspects of his character
Blood players are stubborn and very connected to their bonds. This was inspired a lot from the newest chapters where Susie was very adamant in believing in Ralsei. Ralsei was also in disbelief about how kind she is. Hope could probably work for her too, or rage. Probably has dragon consorts, she would love that
Witch's exploit or break the rules, and Noelle loves finding glitches. Tho I debated Susie for the witch too. I'm not sure what exactly is going on with Noelle in the weird route, but it seems game breaking enough that I think she fits with Witch of Space too. And that genesis frog is going to be the cutest damn thing ever, or the creepiest
I don't think I have a great gasp of Berdly's character tbh, especially how it would translate. I debated a lot between mind and breath as well, but ultimately I like having a space and time player and he feels like a thief or rogue. He would be insufferable once he gets the hang of timeline manipulation
Asriel is based on Undertale characterization mostly, since we haven't really seen him in Deltarune. He probably has The Land of Hopes and Dreams or something to allude to his Undertale form
Dess One who is consumed by their aspect [Void]. Self explanatory

Hey metaru, know you pbly dont care abt any of the things ive been rotating around my head, but i have this half baked idea for a homestuck classpect for c!dream and so here it goes:
Dream would make a decent Witch (Warlock ?) of Blood. And not only that, he'd be a doomed one as well.
Ok so hear me out, Blood is the aspect of bonds and loyalties right? The relationships that you have w/ others. Blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb yada yada.
And the Witch (or Warlock) class is abt manipulation. Its about having an uncanny control and power over your aspect. But the downside is that you have no understanding of it. It usually results into the Witch classes to be manipulated themselves by their aspects due to them lacking understanding abt it. (Ref: Jade, Feferi and Damara were all witch classes and ended up being controlled by their aspects in some form. Bec, ) (IC , Glubby, Doc scratch respectively). The main thing is to avoid being completely manipulated by their aspects and control it instead, otherwise you will end up doomed. Its trying not to drown in that sense and overcome the challenges to Rise
Now, here comes Dream. As it was previously mentioned, Blood is the aspect of bonds and loyalties. C!dream in particular was always obsessed w/ Tommy mainly w/ his ability to unite the server like that. Everyone comes together. Why cant he do it then? In comes the manipulation. He sets everything up, pulls the strings and orchestrates everything. He looses his own bonds and attachments (bad idea for Blood) to better control the other ones
But in the end it always did become kinda canon, that despite all of dream's hard work to get rid of his bonds, he cant get rid of his biggest one, which is to the server. No matter what he does, he always ends up snared in the spiders web. The server is made w/ the people in it and what they do. The very definition of what Blood stands for. And in the end, he lets himself spiral and lose control. He only goes after Tommy to just try to get this one thing this one fucking thing under his control. And he fails, and he gets stuck.
And ends up doomed.
(Also, it should be noted that i came up w/ this thinking abt trying to classpect cdream into Heart cuz of driks whole splinter business and all of the alts dream has in the smp (all of which are canon in my heart i love you GirlDream, DreamXD, NotDream123) and also working w/ the soul and emotions aspect of Heart into manipulation, before i remembered that Blood is Right Fucking There. Also i gave up dsmp post revengers rescuing michael. I have no idea what happend next and have no interest to find out either. Its also like 1:35 am here and i have made so many mistakes but yea sorry to bother you i really love the Blood aspect and Witch is my fav tragic doomed Class.)
c!tommy hope c!dream blood so based

Homestuck 2 updated today! Even I'm not enough of a dork to leave a Christmas Party to go read Hamsteak, but it got late and I'm back now, so let's do it. Months ago, but not many, before Alt!Calliope collapsed. Has it really been months, in-universe, since Dave/Aradia left Candy? Time is confusing, especially in Homestuck.
Tumblr media
Oh wait, this is after Jade broke free of Calliope's control back in Chapter 6. That was months ago? Man, it's so weird how we've cut back to the Meat Rocket several times since then and Jade just....hasn't done anything or said anything about being possessed? At least onscreen? Totally glossed over.
Tumblr media
Probably the biggest mystery in HSBC right now is who the Candyland narrator is. The "Lady" giving commands is clearly Alt Calliope, so who's the narrator pushing back on her here?
Tumblr media
Oh. We have another Alt Calliope. An Alt-er Calliope. This seems to literally be the same person as Alt Calliope, though, since they re-fuse. Maybe this is something to do with Ultimate Selves, which might be why non-Alt Calliope is so afraid of her.
Tumblr media
Cutting from Alt Calliope talking about decorum to Davebot and Aradia taking selfies with her corpse is a cute gag. I'd forgotten Aradia had a new Calliope-themed outfit. That's kind of weird.
DAVEBOT: to be fair this was typical teen jade behavior DAVEBOT: honestly shoulda done a little more research into that host body
Oh that's an interesting explanation for why Alt-Calliope-In-Pre-Retcon-Jade's-Body passed out (and almost certainly not the original team's reason). But Jade's narcolepsy was Vriska-induced.
DAVEBOT: you just went on another one didnt you ARADIA: yes DAVEBOT: who did you meet this time ARADIA: the necr- DAVEBOT: no dont tell me its simply too much to bear ARADIA: are you doing a bit DAVEBOT: of course im doing a bit
I do like the idea that Aradia uses her time powers to have entire adventures in between sentences. I suppose this also makes Pesterquest's Aradia arc canon, since that involved a bunch of HS2 stuff. I haven't played Pesterquest in forever so I don't know if the "necr-" ("necromancer"?) is a reference to that or foreshadowing.
ARADIA: actually i doomed thousands of timelines DAVEBOT: thats kind of fucked up ARADIA: yeah! ARADIA: to be fair i was doing it on purpose DAVEBOT: thats even more fucked up
Aradia is the best troll.
Tumblr media
Dave's pillow wearing sunglasses is a great gag. Also, a cute character moment. Those glasses were a gift from John, and Dave kept them even after becoming a robot.
ARADIA: i could go see him right now DAVEBOT: you wont ARADIA: i wont 0u0
Assuming "him" in Sollux, that seems to imply that Aradia can come and go to Candyland freely, which is...interesting.
ARADIA: youre welcome 0u0 ARADIA: anyway the point im making here is that some of these missteps end up serving a grander purpose ARADIA: things that seem unimportant or even “wrong” can end up being essential components of whats meant to happen ARADIA: and who even decides whats wrong in the first place? DAVEBOT: i dunno megido thats borderline blasphemous
This is pretty obviously about Candyland, especially since Dave just shit on his pre-Ultimate Candy self as being a different person from a "lame" timeline, and "How much does it matter if something is canon or not?" is the question HS2 is allegedly about in the first place. But also I kind of like this nerdy time shit philosophizing even without the thematic subtext. The Homestuck EU has mostly been "Trolls! Aren't they neat!" and Ultimate Selves, but the Classpects haven't really been talked about much for a long Time.
Dave also refers to "Skaia's alpha timeline" in this conversation, but it's never been fully clear to what extent Skaia was pulling the strings. The "alpha" timeline was just the one with no paradoxes, and it was Lord English, not Skaia, who was making it so restrictive.
ARADIA: whats the right way for a butterfly to flap its wings? DAVEBOT: the way that doesnt make me gay
Dave...you are gay. You've been gay since Homestuck proper. It was a big part of why your marriage to Jade fell apart. Ultimate Dave is comprised of all Daves, and since Dave quit time-traveling before figuring out his sexuality, he seems to have regressed somewhat.
Dave was always scared of creating Dead Daves. "Dead Daves are the enemy", and it's why he doesn't time travel any more, and Aradia here seems to be arguing that this is limiting him, that he can't grow and explore without breaking some rules and dooming some timelines. This is, of course, Thematic™. You can't go in an interesting new direction if you're too worried about sticking to what the story's "supposed" to be about.
DAVEBOT: also now feels like a good time to mention that despite my omnitemporal awareness of everything that has and ever will happen to me i actually have no idea where the fuck youre proposing to take me ARADIA: oh word ARADIA: fun huh? DAVEBOT: being real i kind of hate it ARADIA: woohoo! DAVEBOT: youre such a freak DAVEBOT: TONE INDICATOR: AFFECTIONATE
ARADIA: cmon you shithead
This is such a fun pairing.
Tumblr media
Hm. Calliope gets back up right as Aradia and Davebot's feeling jam is getting somewhere and makes them stop. Hmmm...
Good update. Aradia is my favorite troll and this was Good Aradia Content. I am increasingly convinced that she is not a Handmaid to Calliope, despite the cult outfit. Also rather interested in what's up with the Double Alt Calliope thing, but I imagine that'll get a follow-up at some point.

Asriel Dreemurr is a Prince of Doom ((bangs pots and pans))
Tumblr media
[ALT: he seems like he'd be a prince of doom since princes usually act like their opposite aspect AND he acts like a life player methinks]
via @ghostzdrawz
in a reblog for this post: x
putting this as a separate post because it got so long that i couldn't simply put it below your reblog ^^'
yes that is exactly my classpect for asriel!!
( just as a sidenote, I find it very fun that, given my track record of assigning UTDR characters classpects, when a character is a Prince, they are also literally a prince in canon, like Ralsei, and now Asriel).
Asriel Dreemurr // Prince of Doom
Tumblr media
You (very correctly!) stated Princes ghost their opposite aspect, and they do that since it's only prudent for a destruction class to destroy their aspect through leaning into the opposite one, too. The fact Princes destroy their aspect or destroy with their aspect supports this even more. They're destructive inwards and towards their environment, zeroing in on things having to do with their aspect and, depending on their mental state, destroying the enemies of its well-being or (usually, really) making it wither.
The ways Asriel supports Doom as an aspect are so numerous that it isn't even funny, so I'm just gonna list some things from my aspect notes and provide brief explanations:
affinity for unfortunate events, either in being the victim or invoking them (the incident he and Chara had with buttercups instead of cups of butter, Chara's death and subsequently Asriel's death during the scheme they both agreed on, creating entire timelines where he concocts his own genoroutes)
natural magnet for the worse parts of the narrative (being fated to live as a soulless being by pure chance, since his ashes were on the flowers purely by coincidence)
great supply of empathy and/or wisdom (the former is true for Asriel, who has a soul; the latter for Flowey, who is soulless and tested how things work many times - he even gives you a mock tutorial)
sufferers and martyrs (Asriel sacrificed himself to not kill anyone, even when attacked)
affinity for attunement with some kind of... otherness, alongside Life (like the exiles or horrorterrors in HS, or what I interpret as game mechanics in UT, and kinda just us - Flowey addresses Frisk, Chara and the player all at separate occasions)
Doom's symbolism of skulls, fire, explosions and bombs (he literally uses all these in his various attacks, most in the Omega Flowey form, that one with the added caveat of vaguely destroying Doom by using plants, Life's domain, too; but the skull appears in his Hyperdeath form attack)
literal meanings of death, sacrifice, entropy, acceptance (the first two are already plenty clear, entropy is just what Flowey was doing before we got here again and again, and what he attempts to do as Omega Flowey; and acceptance is what he finally exhibits at the end of True Pacifist)
abstract meanings of deterioration, nihilism, stagnation, static state of affairs, pessimism and limitations (most are already clear - the static nature of Flowey is him resetting again and again, to the point where Sans, along with whoever he was conducting research with, noticed the time anomalies and literally had depression induced because of the fact time is just Standing Still in a loop and nothing seems to matter anyhow so why bother trying <- destroying with Doom at its finest example; but also, the loop could be seen as something exactly opposite, since Flowey always tests something different).
Additionally, as the Extended Zodiac tells us - even though I try to not rely on it too much - the best a Doom hero can be is wise, kind and non-judgmental, while the worst they can be is being filled with bitterness, resentment and fatalism. The difference is between if they cling to the past or if they learn from it.
so, yeah. to sum up, my track record already shows i need very little to get me going about this so i'm very sorry ☝️however, counterpoint: it's really fun to do this hahah

Bill Cipher: Lord of Hope (the homestuck classpect)
explanation for why I picked this classpect for him under the cut
First of all, a brief note on how I interpret classpects: I think classpect is heavily influenced by one's narrative role in a story. It's influenced by personality too, of course, but someone with the exact same personality could have a completely different classpect depending on how the story uses them.
Lord is an extremely powerful class reserved for the big-bad in homestuck. It means having unimaginable amounts of control over your aspect (which here is Hope). It's also a volatile, destructive, and self-serving class. It's also the mirror and opposite of the Muse class, which is equally powerful, but wielded passively for the benefit of others, often using methods more like setting up all the components of a rube goldberg machine behind the scenes, rather than the Lord's preferred method of steamrolling over things whenever possible.
Second note on my classpecting philosophy: Each aspect has an opposite, and I think these aspect pairs meaningfully influence each other by virtue of being on opposite ends of a continuum. You might even say they're opposite sides of the same concept.
Hope is the aspect of imagination, limitless possibilities, belief, and the literal meaning as well. It also has a ton of religious undertones. Its opposite aspect is Rage, which, other than the literal meaning, is all about doubt, skepticism, tearing down facades, and seeking the truth at all costs. It carries a deep disdain for the unfounded and the sugar-coated. Instead of living in a world of fanciful ideas, it cares about pushing past anything it sees as substance-less to uncover the way things really are, no matter how ugly the truth might be. They both need each other--without Hope, Rage becomes misery. Without Rage, Hope becomes completely disconnected from reality.
Which brings me to Bill. On the Hope-Rage spectrum, he's leaned so absurdly far towards Hope that he's convinced himself Rage doesn't even exist. In his reddit AMA, he literally says "lie until what you want to be true becomes true. Lie until you can't remember what's a lie and what isn't. Lie until you aren't lying anymore." I can't think of a better encapsulation of what it means to push the Hope aspect to its absolute extreme. He believes so much in the power of belief that he simply ignores any truths he doesn't like.
He embodies the Hope aspect in many other ways, too. Originally he was going to be more of a morally-neutral trickster character, whose whole purpose was just to show up randomly in Dipper's dreams and rattle off wild statements of questionable truth and conspiracy theories at him. The kind of things that people hope are true (sometimes to make the world seem more exciting and magical, sometimes for bigoted reasons, you know how it is with conspiracy theories), but the point is: Bill retains some of this in his canon personality. He tells Ford in the journal that the moon landing was fake. When he first meets Gideon, he says the whole "reality is an illusion" thing. He delights in sharing these kinds of things with people, and yeah, it's to fuck with them, but there's still something to be said about the fact that he accomplishes this through the use of things that exist as uncertain possibilities in people's minds, and things that some people have a strong belief in and/or hope to find proof of. He's wielding Hope as a tool, because that's when he's in his element.
Bill also preys on people's hopes and dreams, appearing to people literally inside their heads, and existing mainly in dreams and minds for billions of years--a place where you really can create anything you can imagine. He uses Ford's hopes of accomplishing something meaningful to get him to create a doomsday device. He also has Ford practically worshiping him, calling him a Muse with a capital M, calling his presence 'divine intervention'... the religious themes that often go hand-in-hand with the Hope aspect are definitely present. Of course a Lord would wield the Hope aspect to give himself worshipers who practically see him as a god.
And, speaking of doomsday devices, Weirdmageddon is the exactly what would happen in a world where the Hope aspect ran rampant without any laws or restrictions or concrete truths. In the codes of Journal 3, Bill says, "why should time only move forward, why must cause precede effect, who voted on the laws of physics - rules are perversions against all will, that's why I'm about to rewrite the whole system buddy, and no one is going to stop me."
We also get some insight into Bill's beliefs when we take a look as Mabel's dreambubble. He literally uses someone's hopes as a weapon against them, trapping her inside a twisted version of all the things that could've been true, if only the world was fueled by pure imagination, without any laws of physics or imperfect days or boring moments. Bill is so confident that this trap is infallible that he doesn't even bother to stop Dipper from trying to get her out once he makes it inside the dreambubble. Maybe the reason why Bill is so confident that this trap is inescapable is because he's pretty much trapped himself in a dreambubble of his own creation, where anything is possible and fantasy wins over reality every time (talking about the nightmare realm here), and was so intoxicated by the limitless lawlessness of the place that he spent billions of years trying to expand his little self-imposed prison to cover the rest of the multiverse, rather than ever stop to question himself or consider the consequences. Because with enough Hope, there are no consequences, only infinite possibilities limited only by your own imagination! ...right?
I could probably go on, but I think this is more than enough to support my case for Bill being a Lord of Hope. I'm always interested to hear about other classpect headcanons though!

7, 17, 27 and 28 for the writing asks? :3
thank you for asking!
7. What is your deepest joy about writing?
i like the excitement of ideating and making connections between those ideas, seeing the project start to take shape. i like the later stages where i'm polishing what i've got, making sure that the language conveys what i want it to and that the whole thing flows well. enjoying the middle part... is more difficult.
17. Talk to me about the minutiae of your current WIP. Tell me about the lore, the history, the detail, the things that won’t make it in the text.
Mmmmh. So, Bound in Ink and Iron was initially supposed to be a pretty light affair where i played with fairy tale tropes, but i ended up going into more typical dark fantasy territory because i love that genre so much and i wanted to embrace that. i made a lot of notes and planning about the setting because i wanted to feel like i understood the world, as it was really important for me to accurately capture the outlook of an analytic and self-assured character like dirk. i have way too much to share everything here, but i have extensive notes on the magic system of that world bc i can draw on canon's power system and themes pretty easily. Excerpt of those notes here:
Magic is a force in the world that many people can tap into, but powerful magic is something a select few are born with or are able to wield in a meaningful capacity - Homestuck is a chosen one story in a sense and its world is not fair. Power is something that comes to you with a price. Everyone taps into or channels magic in a different way - the idea of classpects, mechanics and role and character tied together, people can have different affinities in a figurative sense. Characters may prefer certain techniques or materials - magic as an almost artistic medium, but more than that, an expression of self. It is very difficult to try and learn magic 'someone else's way', though its possible to imitate. As POV character Dirk is someone with a relatively scientific, technical approach to magic - he prefers to inscribe patterns, craft objects and follow rituals - and while he has an intuitive ability to sense magic presence, he struggles to wrap his head around or understand forms that are created with methods and approaches unlike his own.
When it comes to fic, i like AUs because i like worldbuilding and trying to imitate and play with different genres and i like having room for original spins on stuff. i do like minutiae, even if much of it never makes it into the story or is disregarded as the plot demands. i'm a major perfectionist and if i'm too precious about it it can be counterproductive in the long run, you know? if it was an original work i would be more thorough, i think, but this is fanfiction and i want to get to the finish line more than i need to make my most perfect magnum opus.
27. Who is the most stressful character you’ve ever written? Why?
jake is stressful because i feel like it's very easy to mischaracterise him in fanwork, but i worry about writing jane the most. i have feelings about her handling in canon and post canon, and would find a different outcome vastly preferable, but i also don't want to reject canon or erase her complexities from her completely!
i also generally stress about characters that are secondary or tertiary in my fics because i feel like i've not given them the same consideration i would the characters at the center of the work? sometimes the main focus necessitates putting the incidental characters in a less than optimal position in the work, and i don't really like feeling like i'm not doing them justice.
28. Who is the most delightful character you’ve ever written? Why?
i have a lot of fun with jake, despite aforementioned concerns! i like the character a lot and i'm told it shows. he is delightful, to me.

my opinions on post-canon homestuck
i see so many opinions on this mess. always. but especially now that it's back. and most of these opinions are bad. so here i am, to grace the world with my objectively correct take, which is that post-canon homestuck is bad exclusively because it does not include best spidertroll aranea serket.
PART 1: OVERALL OPINIONS
ok more seriously(but no less pretentiously and arrogantly, this is homestuck after all) i did in fact enjoy reading the epilogues and hs^2 and was sad to see it go. im unsure if i thought it was good, but i would rather it exist than not exist, and if that doesn't mean it was good, what does? I do think this new team will probably do a better job though. that doesn't mean im glad the old team got harassed off the project, obviously. ugh i dont know what crowd im pandering to with this. if i start with what i disliked about post-canon homestuck, it'll scare off the people who liked it, even though i think they're on the right side of this fandom conflict. but if i start with what i liked, it'll scare of the people who hated it, who make up a majority of the fandom, and also have quite a few good points. i guess ill just assume the crowd which was more charitable to post-canon homestuck will also be more charitable to me, and start with what i disliked.
PART 2: CANONICITY
is post-canon homestuck canon? the epilogues say that they're "outside canon" but not "non-canon". this is a shitty answer and anyone with the pattern recognition skills necessary to recognize a double negative can tell. i feel like the epilogues knew this was a shitty answer, but that doesn't mean i don't want a better answer. maybe we'll get a better answer, eventually. now, the correct answer is that post-canon homestuck is not canon, but still has a bearing on canon. because that's the only answer that doesn't cause several issues. like, if they're just fully non-canon, basically just fanfiction, then that would open up a gaping plot hole in homestuck, of "hey wait what about the masterpiece and lord english". some people think you can just ignore this fact, but i am not one of those people. on the other hand, if they're just fully canon
PART 2.5: THEY DESERVED A HAPPY ENDING
hey wasn't the intermission after act 3? do i need to rearrange this post to be a weird meta reference to the act structure of homestuck? the answer to one of those questions is yes and the other is no, but getting more into that is for another section. anyways yeah, the title kinda says it all. what was the point of homestuck if, after all that, they opened the door to the new universe, and shit just kept happening. this is also why you can't handwave that earlier plot hole with "oh they just went back to handle it at some point and died" because that doesn't sound like a happy ending to me. and if they don't get a happy ending after all that, then homestuck just becomes a neverending black hole of infinite cynicism, which i am not a fan of and would be horrible. and even if, after all of the post-canon bullshit, they get another happy ending, who's to say that happy ending won't be ruined for no good reason like their last one was? i mean other than the fact that they'll presumably be out of classpects by then. oh that's another reason this can't be wholly non-canon, we need those classpects. someone needs to explain to me what a sylph is and kanaya did a pretty shit job at it if im being honest, and im sure aranea would have had a good explanation but they fucking erased her from existence so.
PART 2.5.5: MY HEADCANONS! NO!
that's not how numbers work. but anyways, another reason declaring this as wholly canon would be shitty is that post-canon just kinda stomps over a lot of headcanons for little reason. trans girl roxy, for instance. also people who think jade doesn't have a dog dick exist and are quite loud but they're not me so they don't matter. let's talk about trans girl roxy. or not, since all there is to say on the matter is that roxy is a trans girl. i could go into why i have this headcanon but does it matter? does any of this matter? no not really. but im sure you have some headcanon which post-canon invalidates for no reason, so you can empathize with me here.
PART 3: VRISKA DID SEVERAL THINGS WRONG
alternate title: "kate mitchell did in fact have some bad takes". this could be folden into the previous sub-section but vriska's too important for that. actually fuck no, vriska isn't important at all. you know who is important? the answer is aranea in most scenarios, but in this case, the answer is tavros. when hussie glorified vriska and shat on tavros, it felt like a joke, like literally everything hussie ever did. when kate glorified vriska and shat on tavros, i got the impression she genuinely believed the shit she was spewing. now, did she deserve to be harassed for her horrible takes? obviously not, that would be something vriska would do, and thus hypocritical. especially the blatant lies, because wow i just googled "kate mitchell homestuck" and people are lying even more blatantly about her now that they were back when hs^2 was ongoing? anyways this section isn't about kate mitchell, it's about vriska, and by that i mean it's about tavros. speaking of tavros am i literally the only person on earth who projected onto tavros while reading homestuck? like i rarely get the impression that other people are actually sympathetic to tavros, they all just see him as pathetic. which makes me sad. even though he is pathetic. oh vriska also did another thing wrong, which was indirectly cause aranea to metamorphosize into a piece of sh
PART 4: THE META SHIT
despite the title for this section including the word "shit" we're now onto the good parts of post-canon homestuck. because the meta shit was genuinely entertaining to me, and also i've seen enough analysis of it to know that it's not just surface level bullshit trying to look interesting. it's been long enough since i read the epilogues that i probably couldn't contribute anything to that discussion but i have it on good authority that this is good and not just my brain activating whenever i see meta shit and/or time travel. oh also this is the section where i was supposed to talk about structuring this post based on homestuck but im not doing that
PART 5: HOMESTUCK WASN'T OVER
this kinda contradicts one of the earlier sections. but it's true. there were several plot threads left hanging by the end of homestuck proper. most notably caliborn's masterpiece, the defeat of lord english, and the four missing classpects. the meat epilogue handily dealt with those first two, and if hs^2 doesn't deal with that last one i am going to track down andrew hussie and silently hand to him a strongly worded letter while holding a butter knife. i know i already said this but it bears repeating. i need to know what a sylph is. so that i can write my 10,000 page aranea-centric fanfiction. im begging you. do you not want to see my 10,000 page aranea-centric fanfiction? do you not w
PART 6: THERE WAS SOME OTHER GOOD STUFF IN THERE TOO
putting actual trans characters in homestuck was a good idea. shame they picked the wrong one. i imagine they'll get around to making june canon eventually. i cannot state my opinions on jade's dog dick or else risk being forever barred from the homestuck fandom. some of the gamma kids are interesting. tavvy and yiffy, specifically. i wanna see where those two characters end up going. "deltritus" is a funny name. i sure hope that ripping off the main plot point from "to boldly flee" was intentional. im not sure if that last sentence was a good thing. but it was an entertaining thing. um, the more homestuck there is, the more likely aranea gets brought back? ok yeah now im grasping for straws but im sure you get the idea
PART 7: I'M STILL CALLING IT HS^2
why did they rename it. that was a very silly decision.
oh hey 7 parts that's nice. if i moved part 2 to the end it might mirror homestuck better. but im too lazy to do that. pretend that this mild oversight is actually a brilliant creative decision okay? okay.

I have always been curious to how Terezi go in touch with her god tier powers.
Tumblr media
Once again, Terezi one-ups Vriska. They are both God Tier in a sense. Vriska dies at the hand of Aradia, who was justified in her beating, then pressured Tavros while on her deathbed, who she knew wasn't mentally strong enough, to take her out of misery, bleeding out from the beating. Vriska’s ascension to GodTeir in my recollection, was messy and was not through much action of her own. Terezi through taking her time through the game, through her own will power and efforts ascends all the same as Vriska, despite lacking the flashy wings or GodTier PJ’S. Vriska gets ahead by though brute force, cheap tactics and manipulation, while Terzi gets ahead through her justice and hardwork, and this is why she will always have the upper hand.
It’s cute how Terzei and Rose have the same exile/commander! Both receive the WQ, because they are Seer’s alike! I love the connections Hussie makes through their GodTeirs, it gives us insight on Classpects aswell as the kids themselves.
Tumblr media
They are such dorks I actually need them dead. ( /With love. )
Tumblr media
Karkat’s use of time travel is coming in full force now! If you thought his backwards chats with John were infuriating you’ll need a new adjective to describe how frustratingly stupid it gets ( or got? Past tense, non linear story time travel bluh blah blah! ) His intent for linearity and simplicity is overruled by his self hatred, going back to berate himself in the past, in a public memo no less. I really grew fond of Karkat when he went off the handle memo wise, they're just a joy to read.
Tumblr media
I love this memo, SO much. Nobody takes Karkat’s memo seriously so they just try to bother him for his patented Vantas quadrant advice which he can’t help but support them.
Tumblr media
They bait him so perfectly just to keep going on more and more rants.
Tumblr media
It’s okay guys he can reclaim it.
I wonder why Kanaya’s land glitched???? Um?? I can’t think of anything she did wrong getting into the game wise?
Okay so my guesstimation of a week for how long it took them to finish Sgrub given how many people were involved was a little silly in retrospect, it was confirmed to be 25 days! ( 600 hours )
“FCG: SO I'M KEEPING MY PRONGS CROSSED.”
I love when the trolls refer to themselves as having the animalistic traits of their Lussi, it’s just plain cute.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“FCG: IT WILL BE LIKE FUCKING 12TH PERIGEE'S EVE UP IN HERE.” Davekat parallel :3.
Tumblr media
Karkat is genuinely so cute at the best of times. He has my favorite emoticons, they're just so silly and you can barely process them? His horns being WAY to close together along with being upside down, it's just totes adorable. c:B
Tumblr media
Did they hook up in one way or another while playing together?? Ugh i would do anything for some good Karezi flashback filler slop. Opens AO3 I GUESS!
Tumblr media
Terezi gets it man, he’s genuinely just SOO cute.
I wonder why after this moment Terezi gives herself the note ( via John retcon powers ) “You don't need him.” Which always kind of confused me? I never got the sense that Terezi relied on Karkat deeply or even at all, so I just don’t understand why this is a sentiment she would realistically feel the need to express. Justice for Karkat man he didn't do anything wrong.
My favorite Pesterlog!
Tumblr media
They’re just so cute man.
I made that last note you read right before finishing the memo, and my point still stands, how is Terezi sharing hearts and telling Karkat he’s doing a good job in some fashion depending on him?? Augh i’ve just never gotten this point, this moment is so cute and i'm not gonna let Retcon shit ruin my enjoyment of it anyways, that shit barely counts as canon in my book I DON”T CARREE-UHH.
Tumblr media
They make me sick in the best way possible. So sweet it’s rotting my brain, teeth rotting fluff.
My Favorite Panel!
[S] Make her pay.
Tumblr media
My favorite Homestuck flash. Beautiful artsyle, aswell as great music, it drags on but in a way that makes sense, Vriska staggering to get the upper hand while bleeding out, music is intense yet sputters in pacing, idk I don’t know anything about music theory the song is just very good and fits perfectly okay. My half hearted relaying of the events won't do this flash justice, go rewatching for yourself! ( has spoilers so maybe don't just watch it for the first time out of context LOL ) The tweening is such a nice touch to the movement needed for this moment, slow yet unwavering. The drops of blood are so satisfying along with the dramatic lightning it's just perfect. The background is very detailed, painted even, they are gorgeous renditions. This most prominently is directed at the Shots of Terezi’s mom, she just looks so cool in all of her dragon glory. Terezi’s descend into the blinding rays of Alterina’s Moonlight. Her waking animation is so creative, resembles Dave’s steps in Dave: Ascend to the highest point in the building, a bit, just looks really cool. Flashforward cut to Terezi And Karkat fighting off underlings together!! Karkat’s land looks SO badass, they’re so cool :D. Cut to Gamzee just doing some juggling tricks at his underlings, what a chill guy. I enjoy the visuals of Sollux’s land aswell as their running movement being really smooth but my question is why did Feferi just freeze up and scream at the underlings? Does she not fight and was beckoning Sollux here?? Um?? Funny nonetheless. Cut to Nepeta glomping the actual shit out of Equius!! Cut to my favorite panel of Tavros ever, we can see the little indentation of his nose, his big smile and eyes omg he’s precious, man. Cut to Kanaya, not in her best dress but hey they can’t all be winners. Cut to Eridan and Sollux in a petty immature nerd battle!!!! Now we cut back to Vriska and Tavros in LOMAT, the music stops in pace, amping up. All of Vriska’s flying animation aswell as sprite animation looks really cool here. AradiaBot’s illustration in this is BREATHTAKING. She looks alien for lack of a better word, cold and inhumane, like a bug of sorts. She also has her time traveling machine that follows the motif of those in her aspect, being Music related! All Vriska wanted out of Aradia was a reaction. She pestered and bugged and fussed just to get Aradia to react to get angry, and boy did she get angry. The music reeling back as she sees a mystified Tavros, she relents her beating and disappears once again.
Tumblr media
AradiaBot responding to Diamonds Droog by manipulating Vriska’s blood to form letters is so fucking cool man.
My favorite Panel!
Tumblr media
MY SHAAYYLAAASSS. Is this a dumb pick for my FAVORITE panel? Objectively yes but also I don’t care.
Tumblr media
Another great example of Hussie’s cool as shit geometric sharp artstyle.
Aradia’s dramatic storytelling of this moment must have been so hype back in the day. Imagine being the creators of [S] Rex Duodecim Angelus, having to piece this story cohesively to the song, imagine being the song writers, assigning each character a sound motif, deciding what characters to pair up in battle, this moment is just so special to me. The trolls are a bunch of champs for one putting up with ALternia and being better than it surpassing the shitty expectations set up for them aswell as everyone doing their part to beat the game, everyone fighting using their best efforts.
Tumblr media
Karkat’s fucked up to hell posture, his tiny mouth and his soon to be classic bug eyes. ( Also bg Vriska ans Terezi look ADORABLE ) He’s the cutest character in all of Homestuck! fight me. >:]
Tumblr media
Such a pretty and complex panel.
Tumblr media
The bots are so cool man, are you kidding me? Look at her, unborthered nonchalant ass queen.
Lol gif compression made Sollux’s shirt peach. Also I wonder why Hussie made every image a gif? I have a bunch of theories but I don't wanna dive head first into nerdy art program shit so..
Tumblr media
One of my favorite Homestuck panels ever. It’s so simple yet so strong.
Tumblr media
Do the blue curtains set the stage for John? Hmmm!

Note
Classpect the Total Drama characters RIGHT NOW. GO!
HELL YEA ABSOLUTELY
ezekiel - bard of rage. he is the gamzee of td without a doubt
eva - mage of rage. two rage players back to back but cmon she’s gotta be. mages (in my interpretation of the class since they’re like the least explored) have a deep understanding of their aspect through suffering through it and though we don’t see a lot of her in the 3rd episode where she gets eliminated we see that she feels bad abt her anger issues to some degree so like she is understanding rage through suffering it
noah - page of mind. he’s book smart and has a good grasp of other ppls thought processes despite not being great socially (because he has autism if u ask me) but never gets to amount to his full page potential on the series
justin - heir of light. light as the class representing luck fits him in the sense of his good looks being most of his power. since they’re something he was literally born with (inherited one might say) he’s an heir of light
katie - rogue of heart. spoiler for like 4 entries down but sadie has the exact same classpect. i think it’s fair to say that they’re redistributing their identities to each other.
tyler - tentatively calling him a bard of hope. he’s trying very hard but he keeps fuckin it up. also wanted to give him good ol bard near invincibility.
cody - page of hope. part of me wanted to make him a mage and/or heart player cuz that’s what i am but that’s really not what he is. he is however jake english apparently. tdwt was literally him reaching his full page potential.
beth - seer of space. don’t have much to say for this one beyond being a space player because she reminds me a bit of jade and being a seer cuz she’s a little nerd
sadie - rogue of heart. same reasons as katie
courtney - prince of light. she manages to get ahead through skill and a bit of luck here and there, but her own ambition is the thing that holds her back. she’s the one who destroys her own luck most of the time by pushing it past it’s limits
harold - rogue of time. he did steal courtney’s time on the show in tdi by rigging the elimination and then immediately get booted next episode so he didn’t get to make use of the time for himself. also this is my gfs classpect and harold is one of her favourites
trent - heir of doom. an heir since he’s kind of the normalest one and so is john and a doom player for his uh. poorly handled ocd from the second season that they added so they could break him and gwen up. idk if that makes sense but it does in my heart
bridgette - sylph of blood but im not 100% sure on it. i definitely think she’s a sylph but im not sold on a class. choosing sylph of blood since she definitely wants to fix relationships a lot of the time but also she causes a lot of the problems.
lindsey - maid of heart. i don’t have an explanation other than im love her and it would be cute i think
dj - bard of life. because of the whole accidental harming animals thing in tdwt. he’s so life player in general though
izzy - heir of void. frequently disappearing and reshaping her personality.
geoff - knight of breath. his breath player vibe is insane. knight the protector class and breath the freedom aspect coming together so jeff can defend the right to party
lashawna - knight of blood. the number one friend defender and also love of my life
duncan - thief of breath. this is one that makes sense to me but i can’t explain why. also for fun irony of him being in and out of juvie and therefore having his freedom stolen
heather - thief of light. her unparalleled vriska swag. heather could do vriska and vriska could do heather.
gwen - mage of doom. idk why so many characters have the same classpects as canon characters but anyway. she spends most of the series generally suffering but it does tend to get her far
owen - heir of blood. babygirl has the power of friendship on his side. this is like the first one i thought of i am so certain abt this one. passive class that embodies the aspect and the aspect of friendship? that’s owen babey!!!
sierra - witch of heart. i am not immune to making the romance focused character a heart player. witch because she is going to manipulate her way into that twinks heart whether he likes it or not
alejandro - prince of hope. he is so destroyer of hope omg wait that makes him and heather erivris. they literally were pitch in canon they were kismesises im a genius
blaineley - witch of rage. hashtag girlbossing her way through life by making everyone around her as angry as possible
chef - prince of life. first of all because he can just kill you. and secondly because of how he tried to make dj his apprentice in tda and dj is a bard of life. they’re not so different you and i
chris - lord of doom. THE lord of doom. he is literally the lord of doom he is dooming those canadian teenagers like his life depends on it. he’s so babygirl <3
YEAAAA THERE WE GO im surprised i haven’t done this before actually cuz i love classpecting and putting td characters in magic systems i’ve made a dnd au with them and an au with a magic system my sister made so like yea HOPE U THINK IM BASED AND THAT U LIKE THEM :D

Regarding Bards as an Aspect Overabundance
Hopping on my old classpecting blog bc I have something I'd like to share with the class regarding Bards.
So Bards and Princes are both destruction classes, Bard being passive and Prince being active. Along with that, it's stated that Princes are lacking their aspect and thus so is the session. Bards, meanwhile, destroy passively, not always in control of what they destroy. I prefer to use the term "corrupt" because it brings up a clearer picture of what "destroying passively" means. Unlike Princes, however, it is never directly stated that Bards lack their aspect or that their aspect is lacking in the session (citation needed). I'd like to argue that it's because not only are they not lacking their aspect, but that they possess their aspect in abundance and, as such, so does the session they are in.
In canon Homestuck we only have 2 bards: Gamzee, Bard of Rage, and Cronus, Bard of Hope. Let's talk about Cronus first, since there's less info on him. In the Act 6 Intermission 3 Openbound, we learn a bit about Cronus during the time in the session. He used to be a nerdy kid who loved wizards, but then eventually he left that behind, especially after he died and learned about humans. So, now he claims to be human in spirit and acts like a 1950's greaser. He's also a perv but I don't think that's related. I interpret Hope players as having a very strong sense of self, so Cronus changing up his personality like this is a very interesting look at Bards, especially since it seems like he doesn't really care about how he was before. It's not that he doesn't like how he was before, but more that he's moved on from it to something new. His self (his hope) has been Corrupted and now he's different. Along with that, he does seem to have an almost foolish level of hope, as he immediately volunteers to help fight Lord English when asked. As for his session, it's really hard to tell if they did have an overabundance of Hope since we see very little of the Dancestor Session on screen, but I believe we can assume it had more Hope than Rage, especially since they had a Prince of Rage in the form of Kurloz.
Cronus is a bit hard to use to definitively assert this claim of mine, but that's why Gamzee is very important. Gamzee is the Bard of Rage, and boy does he sure have it. Rage is all about emotions and raw power, something he has In Spades. Gamzee is one of the strongest Beta Trolls, arguably the strongest, and as we see in his many bloody outings, he is dripping in Rage. He has an obvious overabundance of his aspect, which was kept down in his early years by eating soper pies, keeping him high and unaware of his emotions. We get hints of his power here and there, like when Karkat commented on the fact that he dealt a great blow to the Black King in their session, but it wasn't until Dave sent him the ICP music video that he finally snapped and went on a rampage. Years and years of Rage that had built up exploded like a dam, and it was disastrous, as he went on a killing rampage. If ever there was an overabundance of an aspect in Bards, as I have asserted, this is very clearly evidence for that. However, was there an abundance of Rage in the session itself? I'd argue yes to that as well. Throughout the whole session, there were many moments of sabotage, subterfuge, distrust, and loathing. Hell, the whole game was even meant to be a competition before they did the whole double mobius reacharound. This mixed with the lack of Hope thanks to the Prince, Eridan, makes it a bit of a miracle that the session ever was completed. Even after the new universe was created, Rage was apparent. Gamzee wasn't the only one who went on a killing rampage, as we see both Vriska and Eridan give in to their bloody desires. It's pretty clear to me that Rage was a major force at work in their session, due to the overabundance that Gamzee possessed.
This is my evidence for how Bards have both an overabundance of their own aspect, but also cause the session to have an overabundance as well. I think I've laid out a good argument as to why and how I interpret the class and gave a bit of insight into how I look at classes within both the story and classpecting itself.

spamton classpect thoughts
ive been reading tags and comments on both here and twitter on that spamtroll post, and hehehhe its definitely interesting seeing what classpects people see spamton as!
the reason why im thinking thief of life is bc (under cut lmao, also did an edit!):
thief - arguably, a lot of spamton’s story involves giving and taking. he was given his big shot career by the guy on the phone. he stole swatch’s look. he stole the neo body. he tried stealing kris’ soul. this is a big simplification, but if you also match it with his aspect (life in this case), you can think of it of spamton desperately trying to steal a life and luxury and sense of agency that he doesnt have. spamton also shares the egotism that the canon thieves have lmao and has a very strong personality.
(ive also seen page and bard and mage. i can kinda see why those could work too, but thief feels like the simplest match to spamton and well, im a simple bitch lmao)
life - spamton has a lot of themes involving growth and getting bigger, gaining freedom in some sort of way. freedom is often matched with the breath aspect, but the life aspect also holds themes of freedom and agency. i dunno, ive seen people also think hope and light for him, and wouldn’t you know it, all of these aspects share a corner in the aspect wheel in the extended zodiac! these are inherently similar aspects that have some overlaps. i like to go with life bc of the overall theme of growth with spamton. wanting to get bigger, wanting to get more, wanting to be a god. hope is an aspect that may come to mind when you consider spamton’s religious connotations, but hope generally has stronger themes of imagination and belief and justice. and then theres also the themes of luxury and wealth and privilege that life has that spamton definitely has a complicated relationship with. idk he just wanna grow and be a big boy.
(also note, the extended zodiac has rather simplified explanations of the aspects that focus on only small facets of them. the life explanation focuses on the healing/care-taking aspect of it, but the canon life players have a lot more going on than just being healers. of course, a lot of the themes i talk about with life are theories).
derse- and some bonus talk about the moon lmao. he is not content with his situation, very dissatisfied and obsessed with the past and future. idk, the extended zodiac explanation for derse matches pretty well. he’s inflexible, obsessed with control, calculating, etc.
and of course the classpect and moon i gave him lines up with meenah and agshdjgashd i didnt mean for that to happen. i guess they have some similarities, but sharing a classpect doesnt mean you’ll have the same, or even similar personalities. idk im just rambling at this point hahahah. i find classpects so interesting! wonder what yall think
(edit) oh my god i completely forgot about the healing aspect of spamton’s character! he has so many different healing moves tied to him, its nuts! the f1 angel thing is arguably the best healing move in the game (not counting items idk), able to heal the whole party at pretty much any time. there’s also the heal deal move (he wants to keep you alive so you can make this deal with him!) and then there’s even the fried pipis move in snowgrave lmao. you can even argue the s.poison item can be applied to life, with spamton literally stealing your life away. he has such a big focus on health that i completely forgot about lmaooooo

what's sov!cronus like? Also as someone who might be considered a fan of cronus, I feel like the big difference between a "good" cronus fan and a "bad" one is wether they acknowledge how awful he is. cronus sucks. objectively. and if you don't think he sucks then you're not a cronus fan, you just really like your oc that you stuck in cronus's body. cronus is a supervillain in the body of an incel and I love to hate him.
Yeah, totally get that. People who hate Cronus but are ultimately invested in his real actual canon character are welcome here. Hence why in a recent post, I did mention that you can like Cronus, you just have to acknowledge the fact that he’s awful and not, as you said, make an OC and put them in Cronus’s skin, for whatever reason. Apologists get blocked on sight. “Simps” also get blocked on sight. I’ve had far too many negative experiences with Cronus Enjoyers to not have severe, severe trust issues with regards to his character.
Hating Cronus is the correct response to his character. That was entirely the intention of his character. You are supposed to hate him, and Hussie honestly did a very good job of making a character who is genuinely evil without making it offensive. I’ve noticed a lot of writers will default onto stereotypical minority traits to show how much of a villain a character is- but Cronus is the opposite of this. He’s as hateable as he is because he does nothing but punch down and act like the victim of an oppressive system he’s actively upholding and benefitting from, and wants said system to be even more oppressive.
I suppose I could also be considered somewhat of an “anti-fan” of his character- I’m incredibly passionate about the idea of portraying him accurately, and I’m actually by choice one of the writers for his character in Sovereignstuck. I’m very much so passionate about Cronus’s character. It just so happens that that passion goes hand in hand with unending rage. Lol.
That said, Sov!Cronus is decently similar to canon Cronus. He’s still a vile person. In some ways, he’s even worse, but not in a way that breaks character. The framework for his behavior canonically started when he was incredibly young, and the reason why he’s as terrible as he is is because he had his hopes of being a prophetic Hero of Hope shattered. He’s jaded, bitter, and violently entitled, and he’s making it everyone else’s problem.
A key difference is that, in contrast to Cronus canonically having a millennia to “get over” the emotional injury of not being a prophetic hero, he’s only had one year to do so in Sovereignstuck. Which means he isn’t over it at all. It’s an incredibly fresh wound, and he’s still actively very upset about it. The fact that one of our key players is a Rogue of Hope- who is the prophetic Hero of Hope- does not at all bode well for his mental state. His rudimentary understanding of what classpects actually mean is not helping.
On top of that, he’s much more afraid of getting caught and revealed as the person he is, because getting suddenly hit with that information will absolutely lead to total rejection, which is his worst fear. There’s nothing he hates more than rejection. Due to this, he tends to put up more of a façade around the new guys. He’s not an idiot in that regard- he knows you have to start small and work your way up.
A big reason why he was able to get so far in the first place was because his biggest target, Mituna, is a Cassandra parallel- in which Cronus is the Apollo of that equation, as well as Ajax the Lesser. If you know, you know. The Cassandra effect has not had any time to set into the Player session- and actually won’t really set in at all. It’s very frustrating for him.
Also, he’s got shades now. He thinks they make him look cool. +2 Confidence Boost. They don’t actually look cool. He looks like a dweeb. He also wears clothes that are too big for him, to pretend that he’s larger than he actually is. It’s a sore subject. He’s in denial.

No Classpect is inherently bad for a session
Hello everyone, this post is going to be relatively short. Today, I'm going to talk about a concept relating to Classpects that I believe a lot of people have misconceptions about. Let's get started.
Part 1: The topic
Tumblr media
The topic in question is the idea that some Classpects are inherently bad for a session. To be more specific, it's the idea that the role that certain Classpects will perform is always going to be bad for a session and is likely to result in failure or the player going rogue. This is most often attributed to 3 Classes in particular, but sometimes is used on others. This usually depends on their Aspect.
Part 2: Classpect Functions and personalities
Tumblr media
I think the idea of "Bad Classpects" stems from a much bigger misconception about how Classpects work in general. As I stated in an earlier post, I don't believe Classpects to be based on your personality or to even have much of an effect on it. The way I see it, your Classpect is only representative of your role in Sburb, nothing else. A lot of people seem to believe otherwise. Many people try to pin down the personalities of players based solely on their Classpect or even try to create OCs with a personality based exclusively on their Classpect. I'm not going to try to claim that I'm objectively correct in my assertions, people can use their own interpretations as much as they want. Their opinions are no less valid than mine. However, when it comes to this topic, I don't see any reasonable way to interpret Classpects as having much at all to do with your personality. The personalities of canon characters vary wildly, even among those with the same Aspects and Classes. My point in bringing all this up is that people assuming that Classpects have a large impact on personality tends to lead into people believing that your Classpect dictates exactly how you will perform in a session. This is false. Your Classpect lays out the general idea of what you will do in a session, but that's where it ends. You have a specific Function, but it's up to you and you alone to put your role to use. 2 different players of the same exact Class and Aspect - a Rogue of Time, for example - are likely to perform their Function in 2 completely different ways. You cannot determine how a session will go based purely on the Classpects of that session's players. (The only exception being that a session with no Time and/or Space players is null, barring the possible use of Doom or Light powers to somehow fix it.)
Part 3: Justice for Bards, Thieves and Princes
Tumblr media
There is another piece to this puzzle that should largely explain why so many people think like this. For just a second, picture in your head who the biggest antagonists out of the Beta Trolls were. No Bec Noir, no Lord English, no Condesce, just the Beta Trolls. Who do you see? Did you imagine Gamzee Makara, Vriska Serket and/or Eridan Ampora? If you did, you were right. These 3 were easily the biggest antagonists out of the 12 Beta Trolls. These 3 are some of the most passionately debated characters and you can find every opinion under the sun about them online. However, they are generally painted in a negative light and few will (unironically) deny that their actions were, largely, bad. Namely, the murder and maiming. The bigger picture here, however, is their Classpects. Gamzee is a Bard, Vriska, a Thief and Eridan, a Prince. Would you happen to guess which 3 Classes are the most often considered to be "volatile" or, more bluntly, dangerous for a session? That's right. Bard, Thief and Prince. This, to me, is the biggest reason why people take one look at these Classes in a hypothetical session and go "Ooh, that's not good." There is absolutely no reason to assume that a session will go poorly simply due to the presence of a Bard, but when people think of a Bard, they think of Gamzee, and that's all the evidence they need to deem a character "dangerous". Some might point out "Oh, but the Function of a Bard is to destroy. Isn't that dangerous by very definition?" The idea of destroying something is only dangerous if used improperly. Imagine this: A Prince of Life. One who destroys Life or destroys through Life. That character would most likely be incredibly adept at killing, literally destroying Life. However, this does not mean they are trigger-happy, this does not mean they are out of control, this does not mean they are likely to use their power in situations that don't call for it. They would likely be an incredibly powerful fighter, capable of straight up killing their opponent easily. Does this make them dangerous? Not any more so than one who exploits Time, or one who manipulates Space, or one who knows a lot about Doom. The word I would prefer to use is powerful. They are likely to be a strong fighter, but why would you assume they would want to harm their allies? That's a completely baseless assumption. Think of it like this: Would you consider a Sylph of Life harmful, because despite their powerful healing abilities, they might betray you and use their power to help your enemies? No, of course you wouldn't. That's a ridiculous assumption to make. It's just as ridiculous to assume that that Prince of Life is a threat as it is to assume that that Sylph of Life is a threat. You cannot reasonably assume that these Classes will use their incredibly powerful Functions for bad things. You could do so based on the player themself, but their Classpect alone will not determine that.
Part 4: Conclusion
Tumblr media
At the end of the day, my point is this: Don't assume things about how a session will go based solely on the players' Classpects, it's a hollow and largely meaningless analysis. You could make the absolute best possible calls about a session based on the players and their Classpects, but then the session itself could go a completely different direction than you were imagining. It's a little frustrating to see the occasional post on r/homestuck which asks the community how a given session might go, only for the comments to tell the OP all about how dangerous that Bard of Space is and to keep the Seer away from that Prince of Mind. Please, don't boil down these players to the basic Functions of their Classpects. -Crowe

STRANGE TAKE AWAYS FROM HS^2
I know, I know. This is one troll bug attracted to a plush plump ass that has gotten many a homestucker up in a tizzy.
But I am gonna dive head first into it, and brave the many many plump plush rumps.
Inception Mirroring. There is a strange amount of HS and HS^2 Mirroring going on, and the absolute biggest is with Jade. Lemme explain. A Witch’s Journey is about their Familiars, and taking power for or back from them. As a Witch of Space, Jade’s original “Familiar” was Becquerel, and she did take his power and even part of his looks. What started in the Epilogues and has continued further, is that a new (and very much unwanted) familiar has popped up: Calliope. And worse, this relationship between Alt Calliope and Jade mirrors the terrifying relationship of Doc Scratch / Lord English with Witch of Time, Damara / The Handmaid. Even right down to the Suicide Threat... Further Mirror occurs with my so far favorite new character: Yiffy. Or Ruby, if you don’t like the first name. ... Because Ruby and Jane mimics Jack and The Black Queen. And there’s already an Us vs Them war on...
Our new Players How much you wanna bet that Harry, Tavros, Vrissy and Ruby are our missing Human classpects? Thief, Mage, Sylph, Bard and Doom, Rage, Mind, Blood. (Though on the ropes about Vrissy) And I bet you, because of the controversy and contrivance of Ruby (Which is done on purpose), they’re the Rage Player. Harry’s association with creation marks him a Sylph. Vrissy as a Troll already holds the idea of Blood, and she’s already inherited quite a bit from our Vriska. And Tavros; poor sweet Precious Tavros... Holding the Moniker of Doom.
Event Horizons Where Homestuck proper had Doomed Timelines, we here now have “Doomed Spaces”. Which I have dubbed so far as Event Horizons, as these Doomed Spaces get sucked into the Black / White Hole when they “Stop being Canon”. We’re now exploring the opposite side of the Doomed Timeline, and its probably got something to do with Hope (the idea of Narrative Causality and Belief; and what Canon means here)
Messiahs and Wizards Karkat and his entire bloodline is associated with Messiah figures. As Trolls are foundationally Blood Aspected, it would make sense that the prime time chosen one is a Blood Player. This makes John Humanity’s prime time chosen one, as Humans are foundationally Breath Aspected; and better yet, we even have “sacred” Icons in the form of Wizard Statues anyway and everywhere. An Idea spread across the Human Unconscious, as opposed to the very real and legendary figures of Trolls. Mind, that lot of John’s Wizardly associations also bring him into contact with the one major wizardly figure in real world mythology and religion: Odin. (Via the Harlequinn). And our John is dead. Funny thing is... So was Odin, once. Me thinks it won’t stick.
Ultima Dirk Dude, this guy basically ate a lot of his alternative selves. One of which was Bro, one of which was the amalgamation that is Doc Scratch, and that means he definitely had a chunk of Cherub ass that is Lord English. But as Brain Ghost Dirk shows, not all Dirks are about that shit. We still got a chance to knock this doofus out of his dower power trip. If only we knew what the fine fillery fuckery he’s gonna do... Anyway. The Thing and Think about Ultimate selves... is that you gotta take a step back and see this in terms of Video Game Logic. This is what happens when Player Characters become actual Players themselves. Imagine if the dude you’ve RP’d as in Elder Scrolls decided to take a step up and control the narrative himself; and this comes with the caviate of remembering all the times you’ve fucked up and gotten him killed, all the times you’ve decided to just “see what happens”, or even broke character. And that also starts including every Fanfic you’ve written him in, every AU, that one time you put him in Fallout, that other time you threw him in Minecraft. Basically, the very Idea of the Character becomes your Equal. As the SCP foundation would put it... Dirk has started to rise to our Narrative Level, but is just not quite there yet.
Droog and Dad Oh come on, you knew this was gonna show up. We already know this is an alternate universe, and definitely not the intermission one (Especially with Slick’s death), and we now have confirmation that part of Snowman’s powers is to basically teleport across the Multiverse and change things with wild abandon. This... - Gives an explanation as to how and why the Felt can teleport Timelines without accidentally dooming themselves like our God Heroes can and do. - Means that Snowman can outright manipulate full timelines without having to touch the Alpha, and do so for as long as she possibly wants. - Further proves Snowman is a Sylph of Mind (Because only Mind Players go that deep into shit and have Multiverse powers) As for what’s going on in the background... - Droog left the Midnight Crew, because apparently Slick started to get majorly involved with Snowman (Possibly even romantically rather than hatredly). As there are plenty of Literary parallels between Snowman and Droog (For one thing, they both say “Hey Assholes”), this is almost like choosing your lover over your best friend. - Droog is a manifestation of Moiraillegence, which Alternia Trolls associate with Pity (Rather than, y’know, real empathy and support); Of Course the asshole is gonna be Self Pitying. - This story displays a reality of what would happen if Droog had left. As the HC’d Mage of Blood, and Blood being about Bonds, Attachments, and Promises: This would seriously fuck Droog up (Because he is all about that shit; and here his closest allies dumped on him hard). [ This is all likely purposely set up by Snowman; she put him in a position to leave; something we know that not even a genocide of Carapacians can force DD to do ]
Roxy I’ve been nicknaming him Roxas
The Fear of Two Calliopes The reason Meat side Calliope is probably freaking out bad, is because the appearance of Alt Calliope in the same space is real bad news. Paradox Space doesn’t like Doubles, Triples, Quadrupals of anything; (See the major battle of Jack Noirs that ended in all but one Dead) Our Calliope runs a very real risk of dying horribly, because Alt Calliope as a fully realized Muse of Space is uber powerful and will absolutely trump her in the balance of Paradox Space “No two of the same thing will inhabit the same space”.
Fear of the Prince Ever wonder why Dirk is terrified of his quasi-Grandchild? Ruby is a Rage Player, and depending on her Class (probably a Thief?), she’s gonna be a major problem. After all, Dirk’s created Narrative is full of bullshit; and there’s no player better to handle narrative bullshit than a Rage Player (What is a God to a Nonbeliever?) Rage is perfect when you’re going up against hostile or bullshit narratives and their equally assholish narrators. Blood may be Reality, Doom maybe the Ultimate Reality, Void is the Physical Reality, Heart is the Emotional Reality... but Rage is Reality as it actually is-- random, not always having an explaination, and its never a straightforward story narrative; Rage is Real in the sense that we, the audience, naturally experience it and hate to see it written down (because natural experience as it is, never makes sense written down unless it plays out like a Story or Narrative) Life is confusing, its not fair, it doesn’t make sense. That is Rage (and is also the reason why Life is Rage’s reflection and vice versa). And Rage will pull that reality to the forefront.

Classpect division anon here; just saying that I thought it was a fun idea about why some classes could do some things and not others even when within the same aspect and similar outwardly similar powers, like how Dave's been shown to alter his sword along it's own timeline but not stop time, something Aradia's been shown to do with relative ease, while also not stepping on too many narrative toes
See this is something that always makes me conflicted. On one hand I kind of want to just get word of god confirmation, see the secrets behind Hussie’s Secret Classpect Document Info.
On the other... It’s so fun to come up with this stuff and draw parallels yourself, not bound by rules. Then again the Aspects are still vague enough that there’s a LOT of room for interpretation even with canon descriptions.

Psst. Can I get some more details about Nazz and Jonny being Bards of Heart? That's a really interesting take imo!
Boy do YOU have an ESSAY to read
As a disclaimer, Ed Edd n Eddy isnt really a very deep show- Theres just tidbits of something deeper sometimes you can gather about the cul de sac and the kids we focus on in the show. Ive watched through the show from episode 1 to Eddy's movie and the last episode. But its been a hot second since Ive been a kid myself and I havent really sat down to watch it in a long time tbh.
Another disclaimer is, even though they share a godtier does not mean they will have the same personality! Since Personality by itself pretty much is not as relevant to classpects as much as how the aspects seem to bend around the person in question as they grow and delevoped. That being said..This is gonna be a long ass read. Im so sorry. I have THOUGHTS on everything.
For Nazz, throughout the show we see her literally making almost every boy in the Cul De Sac crush on her, she has no confirmed feelings until the last movie, where she and kevin want to date. Unlike most heart players in canon and the ones I have met or seen good protrayals of, i dont think she has unrequited feelings and we clearly see as much, but it sure does give me the same energy as Dirk's frequant troubles to just finally spit out his feelings for Jake through extreme indirect means, and how Heart players are actually way better at controlling how or showing how they really feel waaaay more than people give them credit for- This isn't to imply heart players are Emotionless and never show emotion, but Heart players are firmly NOT all sweethearts who are innocent, do no wrongs and are definitely not always bubbly fangirls like Meulin- Hell, even Meulin isn't really probably being honest with her own feelings on things either.  On the contrary, they can be very intense with what they are passionate about whether it be romantic or just an interest of theirs. And usually, like Dirk, they are very self aware of that fact. So they sometimes try to hold back things about themselves they are all too aware of. Sometimes to a detriment, but not always. For Dirk, its his emotions in general he tries to keep to himself. For Meulin its likely her resentment of her team members and holding back her anger at Kurloz or maybe even her feelings for Kurloz still being there.
For the Bard part of her classpect, its the idea that Bards Mirror their opposite. The thing about Nazz is shes actually very responsible! Often giving an air of being very well put together for a kid to the rest of the cul de sacs kids and cool headed more times than not. Its part of the charm. Of her acting cool and casual- And just how she behaves regularly like nothing bothers her, but sometimes you can tell it does or just might (almost like a passive ghost of hpow Dirk acts). You learn over time shes actually very smart, too; she gets very good grades, is a model student who cheerleads, and even was seen as responsible enough by the parents of the cul-de-sac to babysit Eddy. Which definitely says something, I think. This is usually how we see Mind Players- Dirk being so cool headed but only the surface is  too. Since its the stereotype at this point that Mind players are the calm ones (which I have my own opinions on too but thats another essay for another time).
DESPITE this chill and responsible facade on the surface, Nazz has SEVERAL times shown some genuine Heart player impulsiveness or thinking with her heart on a sleeve. She allows Edd into her bathroom without even thinking about it, even when it wasn't cleaned up. You see how she acts on emotion like humouring Edd a lot through the show even by kissing him at one point and dancing with him even when it wasnt the popular thing to do, she humours Kevin but lectures him for his own impulsiveness on pure anger towards the Edds frequantly, passively destroying someone elses impulses and making him think before he acts a little more; In spite of this too, she also can get violent towards the Edds herself and irritable when things dont go her way, and we even learn Nazz for all her coolness and popularity, still has insecurities shes VERY emotional about- her hair being one. Much like Dirk does about this or that. Im sure theres further proof to get what Im saying across, but Im rambling as is. So thats where Ill end that tirade, I think it REALLY fits Nazz.  So theres my conclusion.
For Jonny 2x4. Its easier to tell you why I think it fits him, and Id say its for far more obvious reasons when you really get down to it. Hes probably an example of a Bard that simply hasn't learned how to gauge his aspect very well in every day life, leading to him becoming more of an annoyance to those around him much like how you see Cronus or Gamzee be treated. Someone who hasn't quite "gotten it" yet. I don't think this is nessasarily because Jonny is stupid though, at least maybe not as stupid as he makes himself out to be, since hes shown to definitely have some intellegience, more like its because hes Younger (theres no direct ages we know of?), but he does act a lot younger than Nazz so thats my best assumption, and hes also in a seperate enviroment from Nazz, who I personally see as a far healthier Bard for reasons I'll be getting into in a minute here. just know. Jonny has similiarities to Nazz with how the Heart aspect bends around him; Theres too many instances to count where hes just being impulsive but he tries to come across as braver or calmer than he really is. But if I admitted all of them for Jonny, we'd be here all day long and you'd be reading even MORE.
Lets just go with the obvious signs outside those then.
Jonny is a very lonely kid. This is similiar to Dirk too; Jonny is never seen with any genuine friends except his attempts to befriend the Edds, as stated before some kids in the cul-de-sac consider him to be an annoyance due to his own impulsiveness, and this because hes a very socially awkward kid because even in his own home theres rather dark implications of Child Nelgect or something happening. Even the Creator of the show states this interesting quote in an interveiw: "He'd be more or less thrown out the door at 9am and only let back in when it got dark or if it was time to eat. He had an imaginary friend. " Hes that lonely kid who was so lonely and felt so much so he had to resort to Imaginary friends, imposing an identity to an object that seemingly has a similiar personality to his own or a personality that meshes well enough for them to "get along" and to not get along sometimes- this is seen constantly with Jonny talking to Plank. Jonny sometimes disgrees with the morality of Plank, but hes also best friends with Plank and if I remember correctly, Jonny even says at point they are as close as brothers- PLank knows him more than he knows himself, as Jonny says. Sometimes Plank suggests even illegal things - things a little kid like Jonny (supposedly) wouldn't know about or do himself. Almost like Jonny knows weird things from listening to his parents and imposed them onto Plank, making Plank "real" so Jonny could stay in his own head and pretendHE doesn't know anything. If that makes sense.  Much in the same manner as Dirk having conversations of various focuses with HAL and objects he himself has inputted his will or rather - his Soul and Heart onto.
Thinking about this some more. I think an arguement could be made that Jonny isn't actually a Bard of Heart, but maybe a Bard of MIND. But IM not so sure.
If i think of anything more to add to this, I might revisit my thoughts on it later and reblog or edit it more.
