Chance routinely holds competitions on the Dance Dance Revolution machine in the main cabin. Its a big thing between all the survivors, death before dishonor type.

007n7 is stupid good at it because they used to have the same machine in his college and he memorized near every song on the damn thing. He doesn't usually play, but when he does, Chance loves to bet all of his money on him. 007n7 usually haggles 20% out of the guy afterwards.

The last time 007n7 won a comp Elliot spent the entirety of his free time on the damn machine specifically to beat 007n7, only for him not to play in the bext comp. Elliot was livid.

Two Time is also pretty good at DDR, but they get weirdly intense about it so no one wants to play against them.

Noob is probably mid at it overall, but is a fucking beast on specific songs where he just falls into the beat. Even 007n7 has issues beating him when he's locked in.

Guest 1337 tried once, and decided it wasn't for him, but he's rather happy to act as a backup if theres not enough people playing. He's probably just content with everyone getting along for the night.

I think Builderman wouldn't be the type to play either, but he does mod the machines to add special modes or new songs just to keep the variety goin.

Shedletsky plays just for the memes, he's totally ass at it and will throw on purpose because he thinks its funny.

A concept i wish digimon would explore more is showing a digimon’s psychology and morals through evolution. Like have a utilitarian digimon who does horrible things but doesnt dark digivolve bc they genuinely believe they are morally correct (i would love it if one of the angel digimon did this just to hone this concept in). Like they’ll do brutal unethical experimentations but handwaves it off as “its for the greater good”.

Or do the opposite where a digimon dark digivolves bc they genuinely believe they are the worst when in reality they are probably one of the more morally righteous characters (i think fusion explored this a bit with beelzemon).

Like i think it would be pretty funny if the digimon with bright vibrant colors and angelic wings was killing baby digimon but the digimon with dark colors and a scary design was like volunteering at a food shelter

Headcanon/Theory: The Dark Spore/Dark Seed as "Malware" reaching through a weakened "Firewall" of negative emotions/mental health issues.

Thank you to @thewitch2077 for the interesting question and to @jamesthedigidestined for the fitting wording! Again, this is not a complete analysis of all of Ken's behaviour patterns, but basically my interpretation of how the "Digimon Kaiser persona" - as well as the personality changes of all the other kids affected by it - are explained.

I would actually say that this isn't a traditional Corruption arc - mental stability definitely plays a role, but only a triggering one.

The Dark Seed/Dark Spore implanted in Ken and the other children can be considered some kind of “malware”. It already contains a code, so to speak, which contains basic characteristics: Aside from enhancing their human abilities, such as increased intellect and physical strength, etc. (like some kind of "steroid"), it also has severe side effects on the emotional state, such as, but not limited to: A superiority complex, narcissism, lack of empathy, very low threshold for aggression and violence. So as we can see with Ken and his actual Crest of Kindness - these traits represent THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF his personality structure. However, because he was emotionally vulnerable due to his grief, his guilt, his trauma regarding Osamu, because he had desires and his "inner firewall" was weakened, the malware was able to access him super easily and change him according to its code. Exactly the same thing happened with the other children - they all wanted to be as great as Ken, they were dissatisfied and therefore susceptible. It's the "dark side" of the wish-fulfilment trope, so to speak.

Meaning: "Most likely to corrupt" would probably have been Yamato and Sora during their Dark Cave moments - or even Taichi in Tri, which was even speculated at the time when the first Kaiser images were leaked in the promo material. (And it may have been possible even earlier, especially if you consider the sibling angle in comparison to Ken, how Hikari's health and Taichi's own reckless behaviour had affected his mental stability and how he was the first one to trigger a Dark Evolution.)

"Least likely to corrupt" - at least towards the end of 02 - are characters like Daisuke and Mimi. But it always depends on the personal resources and the resilience of the respective characters.

I also found this interesting excerpt from the novel - because Gennai also had a kind of Dark Seed in him (which, once again, corresponds to Taichi's arc in Adventure - and to the idea that Daisuke's character structure enabled him to NOT get swayed by either wishes or fears respectively):

Long story short - I believe that everyone infected with the Dark Spore/Seed with the disposition of letting it take over (with or without consent) would have displayed the same behaviour as the Digimon Kaiser. No matter who would have been affected. The only variable here would be just how damaged their own "Firewall" (= mental health) would have been.

A list of headcannons/actual canons in my AUs for digimon things

If in a universe like Adventure or Frontier where the kids are stuck in the digital world for a long time, then the kids will start to develop their own slight accents. They don’t really notice until they go back home and people think that they’re weird not only for acting like they haven’t seen each other in months, but also for talking weirdly

Unless digimon have preferred nicknames, then it’s seen as rude to refer to digimon by nicknames. Only partners and really close friends/family are allowed to shorten a digimon’s name

To add onto that, again in a series like adventure or frontier, the kids will usually start to refer to other humans by their full name out of habit if said human introduces themselves by their full name

When the digital world was young the Net Ocean and it were one in the same, however as time went on and the internet as we now know it developed, the digital world and the net ocean separated, connected by the Network (or whatever it was called in :2020) and the Real World and the Net Ocean are connected by the AR field

The digimon are native to the digital world while appmon are native to the net ocean. While digimon are made of data and their surroundings, making their evolutions more free, appmon are made by specific codes, making it harder for them to adapt, which is why they evolve through applinks with the right appmon

AI, digimon and appmon are pretty similar, but I think of it more like an actual evolution line, if that makes sense? All digimon and appmon are AI, but not all AI are digital monsters. Likewise, appmon are all digimon (digital monsters), but digimon are not all apps, if that makes sense.

Depending on the universe, the time difference between the digiworld and real one is set in stone pretty early into the digital world’s creation, however once the net ocean comes into play, it’s Timemon who controls the time ratio between worlds. Which is to say, one day it could be a year a second and the next it’s the exact same. He’s kinda quirky like that

Also the real world is actually called the analogue world, bc the digital world and net ocean are just as real as it is

Winged 007n7 propaganda, he gives Goose vibes.

Anywaya, uhh okay this is a hc thats like totally shifted over from my time in the Transformers fandom, but winged robloxians have a sort of sign language with their wings.

I'm calling it wing cant just for the sake of continuity and because the same thing as Seeker wing cant.

Anyways, avian robloxians could like flare their feathers and dip one wing and half spread the other to communicate an extra emotion or idea. Wing cant isn't really made for full conversations, more like a tonal device, but it can be used in RSL (Robloxian sign language) as a replacement or accent for facial expressions.

007n7 sucks ass at wing cant, btw. He just never understood it, even when he was younger. The small details of some spread flight feathers vs. flared frathers in general just never clicked, and so he never bonded properly with other avians, probably leaving him flockless untill he found noli.

Noli is wingless as are most Robloxians, but going to college was the first time 007n7 had met any non-avian Robloxians and he thrived. People understood him better, and didnt get offended at a mistaken movement in his wings.

He was happier.

Also like, Coolkidd definitely has so much Avian culture in his life, even being wingless, because 007n7 just wanted his baby boy to experience his culture, even if they werent related by blood.

Introverts, extroverts and MBTI

In some ways, it is so easy and convenient to put a character in tropes, as it will make you have a quick way to compare, introduce or criticize them… And it is one of the things I don't like. The 9 protagonists are the one being affected the worst by these kind of archetypes and tropes. But like I say, it does be convenient.

So, this post is about whether they are introverts or extroverts, and what is their personality in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. Remember this is headcanon.

First, about introverts, extroverts and Myers-Brigges Type Indicator. "Extroversion tends to be manifested in outgoing, talkative, energetic behavior, whereas introversion is manifested in more reflective and reserved behavior.", which is not a really correct definition. So to identify, I will use seven criterias for introverts vs extroverts. 1) Seek less stimulation vs Seek greater stimulation

2) Recharge, reflect in quiet vs Energize around people

3) Think before speaking vs Think out loud

4) Value 1:1 friendships vs Large social network

5) Favor independence vs Thrive in teams, crowds

6) Avoid center of attention vs Enjoy center of attention

7) Value deep experience vs Value broad experience Notice: Introvert is NOT shyness or social anxiety disorder.

Next, MBTI. It is more of an entertaining thing than an effective tool in psychologic, so just don't consider this indicator as something 100% correct and scientific. Don't hear the claim of MBTI is a scientific method using in psychology, no, it's not.

Yagami Taichi

Let's start with the original one. As the symbol of Digimon, his personality is especially easy to misread! And I don't consider my read of him is headcanon, so just read this for fun!

1) Seek less stimulation vs Seek greater stimulation

"Seek less stimulation". Why? He seems hothead. The keyword is "seem". Adventure tends to go against tropes although they look really fitted in them. Taichi, somehow, is a kind of teasing, and comfortable one. You can easily see this in 02, but in Adventure, you also can get how he is really not too seek of stimulation. If others are safe, he is really not fond of doing things.

2) Recharge, reflect in quiet vs Energize around people

He brings a really excited, charmed atmosphere; but he doesn't get much stimulation from it. Do you see Taichi invites all others to his home like the way the 02 kids do? Not while. He LIKES spending time with his friends: it's just sometimes he wanted to take off his responsibility and relax with his family.

3) Think before speaking vs Think out loud

It's a bit 50/50 for this. He does plan everything, it's just that Taichi thinks everything will be find, and so he misjudges, and misjudges badly. He doesn't think before speaking or think out loud, so this is a draw.

4) Value 1:1 friendships vs Large social network

"Large social network"

I mean, this is a bit obvious. Adventure group is not close as the 02 group, but they are really friends. And you can see how the group just... departs when Taichi isn't there. He is the anchor for all of them, and really value all his friends, Chosen Children or just normal guys in his soccer team.

5) Favor independence vs Thrive in teams, crowds

Taichi has very, very good leadership skills. Although it's a bit because of situation in Adventure for why he is the leader, but it's clearly he showed how he is good in a team.

6) Avoid center of attention vs Enjoy center of attention

7) Value deep experience vs Value broad experience

50/50 for both. I don't think he is any of these, but a mix of them.

And... we get 3.5/7. A good number, with me. He is not really clear, and so we can interpret him as introvert or extrovert.

Now for MBTI.

It's both Introversion (I) and Extroversion (E). (Interesting facts: Both Yagamis are fitted for I and E, surprisingly.)

Taichi focuses on the reality of how things are, prefers ideas that have practical applications, likes to describe things in a specific, literal way... three checks for S (Sensing). But he also notices the big picture, sees how everything connects... N(Intuition).

But I'm more leaning on S here.

Thinking vs Feeling... Personally I think Taichi is kind of indifference, not because he doesn't care, but because he thinks they can get over it. He is also really stubborn and finding out flaws to win arguments about him, somehow logical and level-headed. I will put him in Thinking over Feeling, so Thinking (T).

Prefer to leave options opened, see flexibly, make things up as he goes (that's why he seems impulsive, he thinks but less than enough), enjoy surprise... All checks for Perceiving (P) over Judging.

So, we get either ISTP (The Crafter/Virtuoso) or ESTP (The Persuader/Entrepreneur).

...Eh? Like I said, MBTI is not a good system. And Taichi is a complex character, so both labels sound wrong.

So let's read the definition. I will bold what sounds wrong.

ISTP: Action-oriented, logical, analytical, spontaneous, reserved, independent. Enjoy adventure, skilled at understanding how mechanical things work.

ESTP: Outgoing, realistic, action-oriented, curious, versatile, spontaneous. Pragmatic problem solver and skillful negotiators.

That's why I don't choose I or E, but both. They complete each other. (If you ask about "skillful negotiators", remember what Taichi would become in the 02 epilogue.)

So it's ISTP/ESTP for Yagami Taichi.

Motomiya Daisuke

He should be easy, right? Just a lesser copy version of Taichi, and Takeru is the better leader... Sometimes a part of fandom can be annoying. Daisuke is a straightforward one, but he is complexed, just like his senpai.

1) Seek less stimulation vs Seek greater stimulation

"Seek greater stimulation". It's not that he is a glory hound, or an impulsive one. It's just that Daisuke wants others' affirmation and recognition. Before meeting the 02 cast, in the outer canon sources, he says that he has many friends, but hasn't had any close friends.

2) Recharge, reflect in quiet vs Energize around people

"Energize around people"

I mean, 02 is a season about how social friends can improve each other. It is easy to see how Daisuke is happy when spending time with his friends and senpai.

3) Think before speaking vs Think out loud

"Think out loud"

Daisuke is quite easy to read: he is really straightforward and simpleminded, although in a different way to typical "dumb boy" tropes. Actually, you can read his surface emotion: not his true feeling. But I lean on this. To be honest, self-interpret will be more efficient for you to understand him.

4) Value 1:1 friendships vs Large social network

"Large social network"

I mean, this is actually obvious. You can see how the 02 kids just go out and have fun, being truely close social friends.

5) Favor independence vs Thrive in teams, crowds

"Thrive in teams, crowds"

Self-explain.

6) Avoid center of attention vs Enjoy center of attention

50/50. He doesn't really enjoy when others all focus on him, but he also wants others to be close with him and just recognize him as who he is.

7) Value deep experience vs Value broad experience

50/50 for both. Like Taichi, I don't think he is any of these, but a mix of them.

And... we get 6/7 for extrovert.

MBTI. Now I feel a (slight) headache.

Extrovert, like I just present.

Daisuke is the type of person who just thinks of things like what he senses, pay attention to details. He is also kind of practical, and describe things in a literal way (opposite to how Takeru just has a (^^) face.)

How about Intuition? He sounds so, right? But MBTI is not meant to understand in a literal way. "Imagine the possibilities of how thing could be, notice the big picture, see how everything connects, like to describe things in a figurative, poetic way." All these signals of Intuition clearly aren't shown in Daisuke. The only one fits is to enjoy ideas and concepts for their own sake.

So, I lean more on Sensing (S).

It's easy to put him in Feeling (F): Daisuke just put his heart outside. He really cares about how his actions will affects others, is ready to forgive Ken, creates a harmonic force to his group, like to please others and point out the best in people, be a warm and empathetic person.

Now, the difficult part: Judging vs Perceiving. Shouldn't understand Judging in literal way, though.

Prefer to have his senpai create a suitable plan and respect them, you may don't think it's Judging behavior, but it is. Even I was surprised when finding out it.

But Daisuke also likes to improvise and makes things up as he goes, and his personality just suggest he should be in Perceiving.

Actually, I will get both.

So, we get ESFJ(The Caregiver/Consul)/ESFP(The Performer/Entertainer). Both sounds a bit weird, you know?

Like previous times, I will bold what sounds wrong.

ESFJ: Friendly, outgoing, reliable, conscientious, organized, practical. Seeks to be helpful and please others, enjoy being active and productive.

ESFP: Playful, enthusiastic, friendly, spontaneous, tactful, flexible. Have strong common sense, enjoy helping people in tangible ways.

(The main reason of why I add Judging is just for "Seeks to be helpful and please others". It's just so specific of Daisuke that I can't help but use it.)

So, ESFJ/ESFP for Motomiya Daisuke.

Like I say, this is just headcanon. You can interprete whatever you want. I will just write about Taichi and Daisuke for today. Will post about others later.

(And don't tell me about why is using MBTI for if I just don't choose only one, if you do, go out.)

Digimon Adventure/02 Queer Headcanons

I was talking to @seventeenlovesthree about queer headcanons for Digimon, given that it is Pride Month. And while I talked about this before in a couple of entries, I thought it would only be appropriate to make a proper entry about the matter for once. Or rather a series of entries, as I am going to make several of those. Though be warned: Adventure/02 is definitely going to be the queerest.

This has a reason though in my headcanon: See, the Homeostasis canonically chose kids that were similar in make-up to Taichi and Hikari. Thus, given that Taichi is queer in my headcanon, that was a pattern that emerged, when the Homeostasis chose the first children. Hence: Everyone is fucking queer. Well, almost everyone. I have two straights for the quota! xD

Yagami Taichi - Pansexual

There never was any doubt in my mind, that Taichi was pansexual. He figures this out during his teen years. He just does not care about general physical attributes in other people. He will have this phase during his university time where he does the very pretentious pansexual thing of being like: "Oh, I only ever care about the person, you know?" Much to the annouyance of some other people. But yeah, technically it is fitting with him. He just cares about people and also is quite curious about things.

Eventually in my headcanon he ends up with Koshiro.

Ishida Yamato - Bicurious

Adult Yamato is a mess in my headcanon. He is a semi-popular musician, who makes ends meet by also hosting a radio show on music events in Tokyo. If you ask him, he is very, very straight... Until he is drunk, then there is no guarantee for anything. He has definitely slept with the other members of his band at least once, and does not want to talk about it. Generally speaking a lot of stuff happens in a semi-drunk state. He also manages to father two children through drunken sex. He really, really should go to therapy.

One of the kids is with Sora. They do marry, but get divorced after just three years.

Takeuchi Sora - Bicurious

Sora is also bicurious in my headcanon, though for her it does not manifest that strongly. She had a couple of "I kissed a girl and I liked it" moments, but never actually gets together with another girl, or even gets to third base. There is also the fact that her fairly conservative upbringing holds her back on that front. In my headcanon she takes over her mother's flower shop, rather than being a fashion designer. As quoted above: she has a kid with Yamato, married him but they were divorced by the time they were 26. She did meet another man after that, though, and those two got married rather quick. She has a second child with this man.

Izumi Koshiro - Demisexual-Homoromantic

For most of his teenage years, Koshiro does not even think much about romance. He explains this to himself with "well, I have other things to do", while in his friendgroup all those dramas unfold. However, as he starts going to university he notices that he has feelings for Taichi, which he originally burries. However, since he hangs a lot with Mimi and Miyako, the truth comes out eventually and the two of them help him figure himself out - and do help him to eventually confess to Taichi.

Kido Jyou - Graysexual

Jyou is mainly awkward about it all. In his teen years he notices that he is interested in romance in some way, but not really in sex. He finds the idea strange at first. He struggles finding an actual girlfriend. He dates two times, and both times it lasts only weeks. Eventually he gives up - he is too busy studying either way. (Mind you, in my headcanon he ends up becoming a teacher, not a doctor, because I hate the doctor thing for several reasons.) He does yearn for romance though. Eventually he lets himself get set up for an arranged date at this works out well for him. While he is most of the time not that into sex, he does love his wife, and does eventually have children.

Tachikawa Mimi - Pansexual

Mimi never holds back on her true feelings, and thus fairly early on accepts that she is into boys and girls, and possibly other things as well. She has a phase where she just tries dating around a lot and experimenting. Given she is living in the USA, she also drags everyone to New York Pride first chance she gets. Eventually she does however fall in love with Miyako and the two of them get married as soon as becomes legal in the US.

Yagami Hikari - Straight Ally

Hikari is one of the two odd ones out. She has kissed a girl once, but she did not like it specifically. And for a bit she is wondering what she actually wants in a partner, especially as she is certain very early on that she wants kids. She and Takeru date for a bit, but it feels wrong (basically as if she was dating a sibling - and she does not speak over the fact that in her early teens she was kinda attracted to Taichi, even though that might just have been her brother complex). She has several more serious relationships while she is in her apprenticeship, but eventually meets her future husband and gets married.

Takaishi Takeru - Bicurious

Takeru has an almost more scientific approach to the entire thing. As stated above: He does date Hikari for a bit, but it is awkward and they mutually decide to break up. When he goes to university, he eventually does decide to try thing out - and he does not hate it. However, he struggles to find a partner with whom he really clicks. He is not quite sure whether he is "aromantic" - as Mimi phrases it - but so far he really has issues finding someone who feels right for him.

Motomiya Daisuke - Bisexual

Daisuke does figure out that he is bi during his late teens, but given he first ends up becoming a professional soccer player, he does not dare to come out and ends up deep, deep in the closet, very unhappy with the entire situation. Eventually however he gets injured during a game in career ending way, and after that just starts working in Digitamamon's restaurant. This allows him to come more to terms with his feelings - and he does kinda know he is in love with Ken. So, yeah, those two eventually end up together.

Inoue Miyako - Bisexual

For a good long time in her teens, Miyako has an obsession with Ken, who does however not react to any advances she is making. When she outright confesses her feelings, he apologizes but says he cannot return them. When she ends up visiting Mimi for a bit of girltime and those things, those two end up trying things out and... it works surprisingly well. It is first messing around, but real feelings come from it soon enough.

Hida Iori - Straight Ally

Iori has the most boring love life out of all the chosen children from Japan. At the end of his time in Highschool he gets a chance to go abroad for a year to Korea. There he meets a girl, they fall in love, and they stay together. Four years later they marry and have a fairly happy and healthy relationship. End of story. He would never judge someone for their queerness, though.

Ichijouji Ken - Gay

Ken's love life could have been simple in another world. He falls in love with Daisuke in his early teens. However, he does not date to say anything and due to the above stated complications, he spends a decade pining for Daisuke from afar, never daring to say anything. It does work out eventually, though.

Bonus: Wallace - Disaster Bisexual

And here we go with my favorite American chosen. Wallace. Wallace is... a disaster. If you happen to talk to this man, he will flirt with you, that much is for certain. Like Hikari he becomes eventually a photographer, but other than her he does focus in wildlife photography, travelling a lot, which leads to him hooking up and getting into trouble for it at times. He does not mind though. He is a free spirit lol

(it wont be all about numbers replacing letters, more of an analysis on how their typing habits would be)

(01) - hea lways types inahurry and pretty much type out whats in his midn lots of piledup words and mispells no upercase no punctuation except exclamation mark 1!!! which makes his words sich apainintheass to read but who fucking cares those are awasteoftime to him anway 1!!!!!!!!

(02) - He types with large spaces between each word ,, probably holding the spacebar for too long.. dozeee off quite offeeeen,, yet trying his best to finish his sentence with normal grammmmmmmmmma anddd punctuationnnnnnnnn..

(06) - ...... He seldom engages in conversation initiatively and...... quite reluctant to keep up...... Also he just saw someone 6ied from 6ropping from the rooftop. Yes he uses 6 to...... replace the d letter in the verb "6ie"...... as well as other words associated with concepts of 6eath. 6isaster. 6oomed. You are the one 6ropped from the rooftop by the way. He saw it with his 6oll, of course. (......He also tends to ghost others midway in convo)

(07) - Perfect spelling and perfect punctuation, which are expected from a professional. Keeps his words short and on point, no time to waste on mumbling while being third-in-command. Have you seen his 7? He means his crowbar, and he expects you to understand that. Probably he is the only one who bother to seperate their object-based names from the actual objects- Wait are you even listening.

depending on the verse/her future spouse and their preferences, she might ultimately move back to inaba after school and get a job at whatever off-screen elderly care facility is available, or at the hospital, or even at yasogami high. her preference is the former, but hey. a registered nurse has options!
