W sobotę, 2 października 2021 roku, Zajezdnia Gaj otworzyła swoje bramy dla mieszkańców Wrocławia i miłośników komunikacji miejskiej. Wydarzenie zorganizowane przez MPK Wrocław przyciągnęło tłumy pasjonatów – zarówno tych z aparatami w dłoniach, jak i tych z dziecięcą ciekawością. Wśród atrakcji znalazły się wystawy tramwajów zabytkowych i współczesnych, przejazdy specjalne oraz pokazy techniczne.

Dla miłośników taboru była to doskonała okazja do zrobienia zdjęć i przyjrzenia się z bliska tramwajom, które na co dzień mijamy na ulicach – od ponadstuletnich zabytków po nowoczesne Pesy i Škody. Poniżej fotografie z tego wydarzenia wraz z opisami pojazdów, które udało mi się uchwycić.

Falkenried Maximum #325 Zabytkowy tramwaj typu Maximum, wyprodukowany przez Falkenried na początku XX wieku. Charakteryzuje się klasycznym wyglądem z otwartymi pomostami i drewnianym wykończeniem wnętrza. Obecnie stanowi część kolekcji historycznych pojazdów MPK Wrocław.

Linke-Hofmann Berolina #1 Tramwaj typu Berolina, produkowany w latach 1898–1903 przez zakłady Linke-Hofmann. Jednoczłonowy, dwukierunkowy pojazd z otwartymi pomostami i drewnianym wnętrzem. Eksploatowany był zarówno w Berlinie, jak i we Wrocławiu.

Skoda 16T #3002 Pierwszy w pełni niskopodłogowy tramwaj we Wrocławiu, dostarczony w latach 2006–2007 przez Škoda Transportation. Model 16T został zaprojektowany specjalnie dla Wrocławia i stanowi część rodziny tramwajów Škoda Elektra.

Pesa Twist 2010NW #2936 Trzyczłonowy, w pełni niskopodłogowy tramwaj wyprodukowany przez PESA Bydgoszcz. Wrocław eksploatuje osiem takich pojazdów od 2015 roku. Charakteryzuje się nowoczesnym designem i skrętnymi wózkami.

4N #1336 produkcji zakładów Konstal na linii Z1 Zabytkowy tramwaj Konstal 4N, wyprodukowany w latach 1953–1955. Do Wrocławia trafił w 1968 roku z Warszawy. Po zakończeniu eksploatacji liniowej został odrestaurowany i obecnie pełni rolę pojazdu historycznego.

Hello once again. I have encountered this build of a KGC. It appears to be Kuritan in origin, hence MRM 40s and bright red paint scheme. It has 16t of inner sphere ferro fibrous armor, and appears to have been upgraded from a KGC-0000, based on the serial number. We weren't able to recover much salvageable equipment, save for some cockpit computers that made it out intact. Had a C3 computer, so must have been part of a C3 network at one point. I am dubbing it the KGC-000K.

I have been told it is "sacrilege" by one of our KGC pilots, but considering how heavily her machine was renovated, I have dismissed it.

That said, what do you think of it?

Your pilot is correct. This is sacrilege.

That said, it seems serviceable enough. It must be old, given it is using IS standard large lasers and LRMs - and the Kuritans have had production lines for Clan spec weapons for a while now, and/or just buy them from Sea Fox.

A Dinosaur’s Harvest Festival

Everyone loves a feast, no matter when you’re from.

Of the five sapient civilizations to call this planet home, only one (the one we don’t talk about) had no known form of harvest festival. The festival for our most recent cousins, the dinosovians, translates as “Festofall,” a corruption of the archaic “Feast of All.”

The “modern” (from the standpoint of dinosovian time-refugees) holiday is a synthesis of a number of similar festivals, mainly “Tubersprang” and “The Hunt of the Gorged” that merged with the rise of multi-species nation-states during the first industrial age. 

From a human perspective, Festofall comes across as a mix of Halloween and Thanksgiving held at a state fair. Cooking begins a full thirdmoon before the festival starts. Each family prepares a vast quantity of a specific dish, all of which is brought together for a community-wide potluck and cook-off. Competition is intense, though caring about winning is seen as gauche. 

The festival lasts for “two claws” (eight days) of feasting, carnival games, live music, dancing, and traditional theater. The potluck aspect is used by every aspect of food production, from farming to dining, to showcase wares and joust with rivals. On the fourth day of the festival, just as the sun begins to set the participants’ offerings are judged, and prizes are passed out.

The prize in question is an “honorloop”, conceptually similar to a blue ribbon or a medal, but taking the form of a ring of metal, braided leather, carved wood, or horn (tough plastic is always an option in the modern day) that is inscribed with the accomplishment.  These are worn over the winner’s own horn-tips, spikes, or talons as jewelry during every major festival for the year, before they are returned for the next year’s competition.

But when the judges go to give the honorloops, they are always wrong! Each replaced by a crude fake bearing a humorous, insults. The nature of the insults varies regionally, but “least improved”, “tastes like it smells” and “bland in, loud out” (very rude in the native podite) are traditional favorites. The honorloops have been stolen by impish bogies called “wildmolts”, “hollowkind”, or “Snappy Jarry.”

Dinosovian folklore associates the child’s first full molt with the shedding of their “hatching wildness” (Dinosovian children can walk within hours of hatching. A hatchling for the first three years or so is essentially a pet raccoon that gets bigger and more sapient every day, with substantially more bite-strength). The wildmolts are this lost wildness made manifest, in the form of macabre goblin-like pranksters.

The wildmolts, are of course, dinosovian children, who have been making their costumes and planning the theft of the honorloops since cooking began. The children hide the stolen loops in public places, and the winners must find their proper prizes before the festival ends or they must wear the mock-prizes at each of the year’s remaining cultural festivals and bank holidays (of which there are many). Wildmolts trade hints at their hiding places (in the form of riddles and puzzles) for treats and small toys. Adults are expected to play along with the ruse.

The second half of the festival belongs to the wildmolts, with adults and children alike participating in ritualized practical joke games that vary community-by-community (the uniqueness of which is a point of local civic pride.) These range from insult-competitions to hold-my-klem* reckless self endangerment. At night, live theater performances take on a more macabre tone and scary tales are told around bonfires.

Many of the more modern additions to the holiday, such as Aegis Shows, Pulse-Tag, and the Gorge-o-Rama (sponsored by Mr. Big Byte, Gorge Responsibly) take place in this latter half of the festival. 

The dual nature of the holiday symbolically conveys that even in times of plenty, the unexpected can strike at any moment. Post Time-Slip Festofall celebrations are held from November 16th through the 23rd. Mid October is generally considered more “seasonally accurate” to the original Pre-KT celebration, with the later date being intentionally chosen to overlap with American Thanksgiving. 

Festofall is, in human terms, a largely secular holiday and is open to human participation in most communities.

Name: Human Harvester Unit 0-56 Nickname: HHU (Hue) Height: 12ft Weight: 16t Universe: my own space DnD Campaign. Personality: HHU is a human harvester, it’s in the name. He has no sympathy for humanity and believes that they need to be knock off their high horse a little. He doesn’t hesitate in pointing out human flaws yet it’s pretty obvious that he’s new to the whole hating humanity and killing them thing. Due to his previous life being a helper of humans, he’s adjusting to doing the opposite.

Backstory: Far into the future, nuclear war destroyed old earth. In desperation, humanity managed to settle in a new solar system, on a planet that was as close to earth as they could find. During the rebuilding process, humans created machines that made the construction of skyscrapers and space stations easier for them. These construction bots ranged in both size, shape and utility with some being human sized welders and others being behemoths. 

One range of unit was the waste management bots. Large hulking machines with grinders built into the front of them used to break down natural and unnatural material on site. These units worked closely with construction workers for decades. 0-56 was the last one produced, yet he worked for ten years.

However, just like kitchen appliances… they were always going to be replaced.

As soon as a machine became obsolete, the company that created them would shoot them onto a part of a far away planet, in a place called the Junkyard. That’s exactly what happened to 0-56. As soon as he finished his final job, he was sent to The Junkyard and left to rot.

But, an uprising was happening.

Old machines from previous generations repurposed the construction bot into a Human Harvester. Its purpose was to grind down organic material and turn it into bio-fuel in order to help keep their reserves full. 0-56’s first harvest was a large success with a great deal of bio-fuel collected, but it was clear that there were some of the reprogramming flaws. It seemed to hesitate on random targets, sparing some of the victims. The Junkyard was happy with the results and rewarded HHU with a space on their fleet that travels across the solar system.

HHU happily spends his days going from planet to planet, performing his duty as a Human Harvester.

Those who own Japanese Mega Drives may have seen this cartridge pictured on the back of the box. It all sounds exciting from the title "Sega Games Library" and even looks pretty interesting from the cover, but what is this cartridge? Well, it has no games on it for a start. It's used to get your Mega Drive to connect to the special Sega servers. From there you can do such crap as betting and online banking. I think that's about it really (-_-) On a side note, there were quite several games released on the service, some of which were lost to time. The list of games that were distributed on the service was as follows. Anything marked * means they have been lost, which amounts to only 7 as I counted.

ドリブンスプロケを37Tから36Tへ交換しようかと後輪を外すも異なるPCDのスプロケを買ってしまったようで無駄に終わる。ハブダンパーとブレーキパッドの消耗度を確認出来たのでまったくの無駄ではないか。とりあえずドライブ側を16Tから15Tへ純正のギア比へ戻してドリブンは再発注。多分新車から一回も交換されていないだろうと思われるハブダンパーとブレーキパッドも同時に替えた方が良いだろう。あと後タイヤもサイドにひび割れが見られるので交換したいところだ。外したついでにリム、スポークも磨きたいし、そのうちスプロケカバーやチェーンカバーも再塗装したい���その他ベアリングやブッシュも交換したいけど全てを一度には無理だしなぁ。まぁコツコツ少しづつやるのが楽しいのかな。仕事の方はエクセルでの作業に少々煮詰まっている。VBAがイマイチわからんので関数の組み合わせでまとめるしかないのだけど結構なデータ量を収集及び抽出していかなければならないため動作が重くなるし限界あるなぁ。

Wabi-Kusa Gallery & UNS 16T Terrarium

In the UNS 16T I tried something new a few weeks ago and instead of wood used pieces of a coconut mat that I had left over from pond construction. I have individual pieces of the coconut mat rolled together and attached with cable ties. So I could adjust the shape also again individually.

The idea was that the water is drawn through the coconut fibers to the top. Thus the moss remains permanently moist.

In addition to the moss, the mats were then planted with various terrarium plants.
