So I just found out...
... that Epel’s voice actor Tsuchiya Shimba played a sword [Kurikara Gou] in Eiga Touken Ranbu [screencap taken directly from the movie].
I also know that Rook’s voice actor Itokawa Yojiro...
... plays a sword [Urashima Kotetsu] in Musical Touken Ranbu [screencap taken directly from the Kotobuki event live stream].
To continue the trend of actors in the Twisted Wonderland cast... which I was already aware of though...
Is Vil’s voice actor Aiba Hiroki in Tenimyu. This photo shows him in his Shintenimyu role Irie Kanata, whom he also voices in the Shinteni anime. He used to be the 2nd and 3rd generation Fuji Shusuke in the first season of Tenimyu [image taken from the TeniMyu FanClub (which my husband is part of)].
Here is a photo of the three Pomefiore voice actors together when they did the Halloween event announcement [image taken from Aiba Hiroki’s twitter account @/aibatchi].
Next voice actor is Jamil’s, Futaba Kaname, who played in both Tenimyu [Saeki Kojiro] and Toumyu [Yuuki Hideyasu].
[Image taken from the TeniMyu FanClub]
[Image taken from Futaba Kaname’s twitter account @/futaba_kaname]
Next Tenimyu boy is Kalim’s voice actor Furuta Kazuki [whom I don’t like actually].
Who was the 8th generation Echizen Ryoma in 3rd season Tenimyu [image taken from the TeniMyu FanClub].
The last actor I want to mention is the one who voices Malleus, Kato Kazuki.
Who was the very first Atobe Keigo in the first season of Tenimyu [image taken from TeniMyu Wiki].
Why did I make this post?
Because it was the realisation of the night that Epel’s VA is an actor for Swörd and also an actor in general.

Hey, I just noticed from your tags that you're quite fond of Ryuji and Mario together, or am I just assuming it? If it's alright with you, please share your thoughts about them and if you have trivia or interesting facts about their real life dynamic and friendship, please grant me some. Ah, please, if it turns out that I'm wrong, kindly ignore this ask. Thank you and have a nice day! PS. I love them together but I don't know where to go to feed my fangirl heart.
Hiya! :D
Your instincts are spot on xD I am, indeed, very fond of Sato Ryuji and Kuroba Mario’s friendship/dynamics, so thank you for the Ask! I had a ton of fun digging through the many moments that they’ve shared together, and I hope you enjoy reading about them ♥
Ryuji and Mario go way back, all the way to their Musical Prince of Tennis days, and so have quite the history together. Coupled with their similarities, they get along really well in real life and have quite a close friendship xD
Because this post, very predictably (LOL!) got quite long, please find the rest of my response below the cut.
SHARED PROJECTS
Musical Prince of Tennis (2013 - 2014):
Kuroba Mario as Kikumaru Eiji (Seigaku 7th Gen, Tenimyu 2nd Season)
Sato Ryuji as Zaizen Hikaru (Shitenhouji 2nd Gen, Tenimyu 2nd Season)
Musical Touken Ranbu (2015 - now):
Kuroba Mario as Mikazuki Munechika (Team Sanjou with Kashuu Kiyomitsu)
Sato Ryuji as Kashuu Kiyomitsu (Team Sanjou with Kashuu Kiyomitsu)
Please Please Please (2017) / Sea Opening (2018):
Sato Ryuji as Shinji
Kuroba Mario as Kiyoshi
FIVE (2017):
Sato Ryuji as Shimizu Toshi (MENS5)
Kuroba Mario as Tairaku Jun (MENS5)
SIMILARITIES
They are both born in Sendai, Miyagi.
They are both only children.
They were both involved in the amateur high school band circuit at around the same time (2010/2011). Ryuji was a vocalist and drummer for his band while Mario was a vocalist.
RANDOM TRIVIA
The both of them actually knew about each other before their first meeting during Tenimyu because Matsuda Makoto-san, the producer of Tenimyu, had told them about each other. Ryuji was asked to “get along with Mario because they came from the same hometown” while Mario was asked to “take care of Ryuji”.
Ryuji’s first impression of Mario:
“At first, he seemed like the yankee type, but he’s actually the fluffy type (“fuwa fuwa”).“
Ryuji has also been asked about the part of Mario that he thinks is cool (“kakkoii”), to which his response was:
“Hmm, it might be his face/looks? The fact that he’s an affable person. How do it put it, he’s someone who is loved [by the people around him], and there aren’t many people who dislike Mario-kun.”
Mario’s general impression of Ryuji:
“When he wants to get your attention… He can get quite adorable. Well, he’s someone who gets lonely easily and wants company ("sabishigariya”), after all. He’s not the type to show it, so I’m really happy that he shows me that side of himself. If I talk more about this, I’ll be scolded (LOL). Even though he’s younger than me, he doesn’t seem like someone who is younger and feels like someone who is always [leading the way] in front of me. That’s why it makes me happy when he shows that side of himself to me.“
Mario has also been asked before about the part of Ryuji that he loves/likes, to which his response was:
"The both of us are unexpectedly similar~ We come from the same hometown, we stand together shoulder to shoulder, we’re both only children, we’ve both performed in bands before in the past, and even at our cores [we’re the same]. In other words, I love/like everything about Ryuji.”
Although there are no official company leaders (“zachou”) appointed in Toumyu, Mario and Ryuji have a unique relationship in the production, especially when they are together in Team Sanjou with Kashuu Kiyomitsu, because they’re both acknowledged to be co-leaders of the team.
Even from their early days during the Trial Performance, Mario has always felt that, because of his role as Mikazuki Munechika, he should make an effort to act more like a leader, which is why he is often the one who takes charge of leading the pre-show circle. However, it was something that was challenging for him, and he has commented that in areas where he finds himself lacking, it is Ryuji who supports him and has his back, filling in the gaps in his stead.
In the Shibuya Note special episode about the “Musical Touken Ranbu ~Atsukashiyama Ibun~ Paris”, Mario also talks a bit about their roles and dynamics as leaders in general, saying:
“[Because] (Sato) Ryuji runs before us, leading us as the vanguard, I would like to be the one who is right at the back [supporting everyone]; that is the kind of relationship I would like us to have.”
And, when Mario was cast in the “Musical Touken Ranbu ~Tsuwamono Domo ga Yume no Ato~”, he admitted that one of the things he was most anxious about was the fact that Ryuji wouldn’t be there [to support him and watch his back] during the production.
Mario has also named Ryuji both as the person he admires and as his biggest rival. These excerpts were taken from Mario’s various fan events.
Question: The person you admire? Your rival?
Mario: Sato Ryuji! I think that there are a lot of similarities between us. I think, because we’ve been together for so long and come this far together, our paths are similar.
[MC: Is it admiration? Or rivalry?]
Mario: It’s both. I’m very curious as to/interested in how Sato Ryuji will continue from now on.
In response to the question of “Who is your biggest rival?”, Mario has also added:
“It would be Sato Ryuji. He [Ryuji] isn’t someone who is an enemy [to me]. He is more like a person whom I can grow and climb to the top with.”
Mario has compared his relationship and rivalry with Ryuji to Son Goku and Vegeta from Dragon Ball (with him being Goku and Ryuji being Vegeta, also because Ryuji can be a tsundere xD).
Ryuji and Mario used to stay with each other when they had projects together. It is because of this that Mario has commented before on how Ryuji can have a weird tension when he’s awake late into the night. LOL!
When they filmed “FIVE”, they had this story to tell:
Mario: Occasionally, filming will be early in the morning and he [Ryuji] looks like he is going to die though (laughs).
Ryuji: I’ve known Mario-kun for such a long time since Touken Ranbu, so he is exposing everything [about me].
Mario: Yeah, because we’ve always been together. In the morning, when we are taking the bus to go to the meeting place, Ryuji makes a face like he is returning to hell (laughs).
Source: HERE
Additionally, Mario has also commented that when they were filming “FIVE”, they were always together even in private. They would go out for meals together and chat with each other about anything and everything.
During yet another fan event, Mario played “The Family Game”, and this was his response,
Father: Saeki DaichiMother: Ohira ShunyaOlder brother: Kitazono RyoYounger brother: Sakiyama TsubasaPet: Sato Ryuji (To quote, “Don’t you want to see Ryuji as a pet? Wearing a choker?”)
Source: HERE
Ryuji and Mario have also shared a few cute interactions on Twitter. One such interaction was this little gem featuring Kitazono Ryo: HERE
They have also demonstrated that they do indeed pay attention to each others’ Tweets and play along with each other, as shown in this little exchange: HERE
And, finally, last but most certainly not least, the legendary Sashimeshi episode featuring the both of them and their “kiss” xD: HERE

Final 31: Day 4! Ranking TeniPuri Schools
This is going to be heavily based on Tenimyu because I’ve only seen about 50 episodes of the anime — sorry!!
Last: Rikkai - I’ve never liked Rikkai. I still don’t understand why they get Last Boss level in Tenimyu. They bore me. I seriously cannot stand Kirihara. I do’t like most of them to be honest. Although, I do like Bunta and always have. But that’s because actors like Kiriyama Renn and Yasukawa Junpei have played him.
Seigaku - To be honest, I hate Seigaku just as much as I hate Rkkai. They’re on the same level. If anyone knows me, my HATE for Tezuka runs so damn deep. And Echizen is a little shit; he just so happens to be played by some amazing actors - Yanagi, Endo, Dori, Sakamoto, Ogoe etc.
Fudomine - I feel I know his team the least and that’s why they’re ranked so low. And they don’t really get much stage time in tenimyu I think. I have very little memories of them. But great people like Izaki, Kento and Ueda have come out of this team. I also really love 3 Gen's version of Kamio's solo song.
St.Rudolph - I have so many fond memories of this team... Especially for Tenimyu 2nd and 3rd generation; like he sports day and their group songs are amazing and the set up before their matches. And especially Mizuki Hajime. His character is definitely one that you never forget; I feel he has a lasting impression on people.
Yamabuki - They are so much fun! They’re all hilarious and silly and a lot of fun! And how could we forget how great Sengoku is! I love, love, love his solo song so much too! Dan is adorable too! I especially love the stuff Yambuki got up to during the matches when they were technically not center stage but for me, they kept me entertained and my eyes on them.
Rokkaku - Rokkaku are probably the first Tenimyu team I liked. As soon as Aire/Ire came on stage with his stupid hair and did the whole Davide-Pair-Song, I was sold. I love this song so much and I love Amane so much too! I’ve loved both first and second gen of him and I’m so ready and open for 3rd Gen Amane! And who could forget Aoi! I love, love, love Aoi’s solo song so much! It’s the cutest thing ever!
And now to my Top 3:
Third: Hyoutei - Another team I’ve loved since way back when. This is a team that I know I should hate - I usually don’t like stuff that everyone else does, so by this logic I should loathe Hyoutei, but I just can’t! I am totally on board with everyone loving Hyoutei. But I feel like my reasons for liking them is different to why everyone else does? First we have the ridiculousness that Aoki brought to Atobe - he is just ridiculous okay. And then we have Hiroki <3 when Hiroki got announced as Atobe I freaked out! A. it had been the first time I knew an actor before they were in Tenimyu. B. I love Hiroki! Ever since he popped up in Dance with Devils, I’ve kind of supported him in everything as much as I could/can. C. he’s such a cute baby. He’s adorable, I can’t. So I have/had emotional investment in the actors in Hyoutei to begin with so that’s partially I love Hyoutei. Next we have Gakuto who has always been a cutie. And Kitano made him even more cute!! And Jirou!!! Akazawa made Jirou the cutest thing in the world! And his sleepiness makes him even more cute! I also really love Hyoutei’s songs in general and I even love the changes they made in 3rd Gen for Hyoutei group songs too! Also allowing Hiroki to incorporate his ballet rather than making him this overally sexy character that Aoki had made him, made me so happy!
Second: Higa - Not going to lie; I know these guys are hate dand they’re supposed to be this really MEAN team but... Second Gen Higa are all such wonderful and nice actors and even now they’re all good friends, that you can’t hate Higa! You just can’t! Also, I’ve ALWAYS loved their songs! Even way back in 1st Gen - love their songs! It also doesn’t help that my number 3 oshi - Aramaki Yoshihiko - debuted and started his acting career as Kai in this group, so obviously this group is going to be special to me. And(!) their colour is PURPLE! I love PURPLE! (So does Makichan ;) ) AND what’s more, when 3rd Gen Higa got announced, I ALREADY KNEW the actor who’ll be playing Kai this time around and I am SO EXCITED to see him as Kai! I really liked him in Marker Light Blue and I am so excited to go and support him and be a proud supporter of Higa and Kai this time too!
AND FIRST!
Shitenhouji - What an absolutely ridiculous but fun team they are! They have some of the best moments, some of the best songs (seriously every time I go to Osaka, I just listen to them and (from now on too) Johnny’s WEST), and they have very openly gay characters and a very openly gay couple which just warms my heart and them two, Yuuji and Koharu, are just amazing - especially second gen of them. I cannot wait to see what craziness they get up to in 3rd Gen <3
*
And that’s done! I am already so behind on my days =[

Dare ni mo Mienai Ito ~ Tenimyu 2nd Golden Pair & Silver Pair
And the reason why I’m posting this is because Ikkei is revealed to be the 4th Sakura cadet and apparently...I liked him at one point :D
So I never follow Tenimyu 2nd that closely (except for Rikkai), but I still watched the Dream Lives. I’m also not a huge fan of Golden Pair (except 5th generation GP. They’re their own league)
In here, which in context is about how it’s going to be their last match together (and in reality is going to be their very final performance), Eiji was on the verge of tears, and seeing Ikkei Oishi patted his partner’s back as they ran together and even looking like he’s also on verge of tears near the end, I thought holy crap that’s actual golden pair right there >.<
And since this Ikkei Oishi has a very nice, Oishi-like voice, I looked him up. And listened to this song several more times.
And then I totally forgot about it XD
Well, now that he’s in Messiah, I have a super valid reason to watch the second half of Tenimyu 2nd. Or maybe I’ll just binge the backstages lol
(Also, Shinchan’s character is said to be similar to Mao’s character. And Kuroba Mario here is often mistaken for Mao as well......you know what I’m getting at :3)

Thoughts on 3rd Rokkaku (Cast & Songs)
Thoughts on Rokkaku 3rd
Since Rikkai has started, and of course a new Rokkkaku song is there, I thought now would be the best time to write my opinion on the DVD from Rokkaku. I have not watched it live, so this rant may be a bit lacking, but I'll try my best anyways. Please note that everything under the cut is only my opinion and definitely not representative for everyone and may contain errors.
More under the cut
Overall Wow, this is a really cute team! It seems that they kept the fresh and lively behaviour of Rokkaku, but in comparison with 2nd, they're a bit toned down, and compared with 1st they're a lot more fresh so I'd say it's a mix between both. Since this group has a lot of age differences, it's a bit harder to see their "cameraderie", but they did a good job and I feel like they will definitely grow as a team.
They’re a silly team
Yashiro Takuya - Aoi Kentarou Okay. This Aoi is definitely my most favorite Aoi (until now). The thing I immediately felt from him was his maturity, especially in the case of a character like Aoi, who practically exists to be cute and hyper. If not for his seniors, I would definitely have thought that he was the most professional actor in Rokkaku. He's well rehearsed, as is apparent in his speeches that tend to be very scripted and don't make a lot of place for emotions and crying, despite being one of the youngest members. Even in comparison with Miura, I believe he was a very good captain in correlation with his age. Of course he has his natural cuteness going for him, which is a 10 (sorry dude that you have to shave your hair), when I first saw the casting I was really dying because of his cute face.
When someone slips into your shot but somehow it isn’t Saeki or Ryou.
Things I especially liked about him were the moments after his playstyle was revealed. Not only his movements, but also his expressions and general feeling changed into something a lot more dynamic and terrifying, much like in the BaneDavi match. That said, he does an amazing switch between his three personas, the professional off stage, the "I want to be popular" on stage and the "I will definitely beat you" in his match.
Arguably not the best picture
Futaba Kaname - Saeki Kojirou Saeki is by far my least favorite member of Rokkaku, because I usually view him as a enrichened white slice of bread. When I first saw the casting visual of Saeki, I did not have a lot of expections, and I was not in the mood to stalk Kaname's twitter a lot. Now that I've watched the musical, I have only one thing to say. Wow, this dude is handsome. Is it shallow? Perhaps. He has a big mouth, which makes for weird singing faces. But when he doesn't he manages to look handsome 99% of the time, and his smile really helps with that. Uh I should return to gushing about personality right. Saeki is a whimiscal, perfect, and oblivious character that tends to annoy the shit out of me. Futaba nailed that part absolutely. Things that come to mind are the adlibs: "No, I'm not popular at all" upon which Kenchan calls him out like the big fat liar he is. Same for the "Am I not a god?". He totally knows it.
So, you wanna fuckin go Fuji?
A different part that Futaba portrayed extremely well, probably a part of his own personality was his "coolness". He practically screamed "Kakkoii" and sometimes it felt like he needed no effort at all. He's probably the heartthrob of many new enrolled Rokkaku 3rd fans lmao. My favorite part of Saeki was when he got slapped by Ryou. All in all, Kaname was very Saeki, a lot more oblivious than 2nd and really cool.
How uselessly handsome
Hinata Kento - Kurobane Harukaze MUSCLE MAN. Bane was always a big bro in my eyes, emphasis on bro, but after Rokkaku 3rd I feel like it has changed to big. When casting was revealed, I remarked that his face was really cool, but when I stalked him on instagram and came to know that he was super duper ripped as well, I knew this was the Bane in my heart. Mossan is still my pedestal Bane, and it hasn't changed, but I heartily accept this Bane. Kento made good use of Bane's speech style, had a lot of very little interactions that made his character come alive and was good at the "DAVIDE I'M GOING TO KILL YOU".
He was especially good at these faces
A minor point was that he didn't nearly laugh as much, since he was too busy with his Tsukkomi. From his twitter, he has a really huge smile, but in play itself, it seemed like it got pushed away, so I missed his bro. Moments I appreciated of him were for example mouthing the whole song of Onna no kara chuu, needing Davide's retribution slap and being some sort of mentor senior thing to the same aged Shudo. ShudoBane friendship lived in this one, and the same happened with Ryou, so that part was very appreciated.
This is what the BaneDavi dynamic felt like.
Shinnosuke Takagi - Itsuki Marehiko Not a lot can be said of him, because with Icchan being my favorite character, he has absolutely 0 screentime, which makes for a hard time trying to know what the heck he's doing really. As usual, they left out the part where they mention that Icchan is a sensitive (clam gatherer) player, which quite adds to his character, but it seemed they casted on looks and not on noseness (can't blame them). Each generation of Icchans seems to get a lot cuter as well, which I really don't mind. Now, as to what I think about Shinnosuke, it's probably that he really looks like a nice person. I really can't exaggerate and be like OMG HE'S SUCH A CUTE MINI BUCHOU, he's super handsome and cool wtf, WHAT A BRO THE MUSCLES AAH... Nope I can only think of how nice he looks, or quoting a fellow Rokkaku fan: "He is shaped like a friend." And he is, I would definitely want to be friends with him. He looks like a total mom as well.
Yes, position for mom is still open
Moments I liked about him were in the senshuuraku, with the adlibs, when Bane and co go to kidnap Saeki in order to kill him, he crouched down in his fetus position, which I though was a really nice touch, since it's kind of the trait how I fell in love with him (and subsequently became a Rokkaku stan OKAY I KNOW A BOY CRYING UNDER A PIER IS NOT THE BEST PROPAGANDA BUT IM WEAK). Another part is when Davide slaps Bane, and Bane slaps Shudo. His concerned face is really adorable and Icchan like.
With Saeki, he just makes fun of him
Sakagaki Reiji - Amane Hikaru Oof this is my struggling point. Again, I'll admit that my first impressions of him were..biased. That's to say, he looked like a fish. After stalking even more media, I was really convinced that they chose the worst face. He looked dead in all kind of media, and he didn't know how to shave probably, which was not really bothering me but it made for quite an enigmatic figure. When the cringy introduction videos were released, it was then that I accepted him, as he had a very Davide feeling in his puns. So in the looks department, he was definitely not lacking when it came to the stageplay itself. Holycow he was so cool and uh, mature in the more adult way? He definitely got a shot of Shiraishi I think lol. He was the objective best one in singing and dancing I believe, (SHAKE THOSE HIPS) and had a really cool feeling. He lacked a bit in the acting department (all his shit eating grins come to mind), but he was a very good choice for a musical that is usually populated with inexperienced actors.
Rennaisance worthy On what his Davide was, wow Davide you're such a shit. It felt like he changed the "dependent" Davide to the "brat" Davide. It felt a bit more off, since I was really used to the sweet cat that 2nd was, and not the shit cat 3rd, but in the end, I'm really weak to assholes, so I kinda liked his interpretation. All in all, I prefer the characterization of 2nd, while also appreciating how shitty 3rd was. I have no particular favorite moment of him, perhaps I would say the "Sumash ni Shimasu", line he had in his match. Somehow he looked really really cool there.
A super cool Mizuki twirl
Sato Yugo - Kisarazu Ryou Ah, this Kisarazu wasn't nearly as vain as fancy as I wished for him to be, simply because Yugo seems too sweet for me. Yugo was pretty much my fav actor from pre-Rokkaku (cause again, I'm weak to tears) and I was looking forward to tears in Rokkaku, but it seems like he has hardened into a veteran Tenimyu. In comparison with 2nd, he missed a little bit of the outgoing bitch personality and instead became the more canon introvert bitch.
Protecting your hair is your first defensive mechanism?
What can I say about Yugo, except him being buff but still pretty enough to pull of the horrible wig. He definitely makes Ryou a lot more capable, with his breakdancing and all which adds a cute touch. I feel like he did a very good job at portraying the somewhat more, petty side of Ryou. Moments that come to mind are like when Saeki entrusts his jersey to Ryou, upon which Ryou gracefully accepts it, folds it and then sweeps it off the bench to the ground or pushes it to Shudo. Also the Saeki slap. That's still such a beautiful moment.
Dumping your responsibilities on the team pet
Chiba Kota Shudo Satoshi Would it be hypocritical to say that this guy is my fav actor now despite having the least to say about him? He's horribly cute, has a really nice face and looks like a really nice guy. The thing I was suprised by was his voice. It doesn't seem to fit his face at all, but it's so lively and has a raspy cuteness to it. That said, while I thought that he would be a lot more calm and cute offstage, it seems that he really keeps the Shudo persona in both places. While I characterized Shudo as a brave, somewhat more stoïc individual that happened to make stupid choices, they really decided to exaggerate his character in a very pleasant way, which translated to YOLO AHAHAHA WHAT IS THIS DRINK non preservation mode Shudo. My second OTP after Saegoku is ShudoRyou, and while I don't really want to relate this to the actors, ShudoRyou lived during the stage.
Adorable...
Especially the adlib with Satoshi-kun and Ryou-chan was everything I needed to establish a beautiful scenario in my mind. Another moment was Shudo jumping on the bench and pushing of Kisarazu, after which gets Shudo of the bench again. The Inui adlibs could get a bit repetitive, but it's okay, seeing Shudo roll off screen multiple times makes anyone's day brighter. I love Shudo. Protect him from himself.
He has a really precious :<> expression
Songs
Nice People Good People You know, the name of the song already killed me. And I will be honest, the first thing I thought when I watched this song was how horrible it was compared to the other super cool songs the other schools got. However, after 500 repeats, I grew to like it as the best most ultimate good song that tenimyu could deliver. It seems like Rokkaku now has a theme that focusses on geometry lol? Everything about it was really cute, though I have to admit that the singing felt more like shouting in a melodious way to me. Bane and Amane didn't stand out, they were more like shouting all the time, but it was the first time I could see how captivating Reiji was as Davide. Icchan looked like a happy man, and Saeki was needlessly cool of course. I really liked the choreography they did between BaneDavi and SaeIcchan's singing parts, the circling while turning on the beat was somehow really cute... Aoi looked a bit constipated, but that's what usually happens when you always close your eyes and have a relatively big mouth. After all, Kisarazu's performance was the first one that didn't immediately sounded like shouting to me and his experience was really apparent. Shudo was shouty, but his happy face when Kisarazu is singing and he is pointing his racket around was really adorable. A Rokkaku worthy song, not enough wiggle, but a very fun choreography, needs more geometry.
Highlight
Shabadada Adult. I never imagined i would like Shabadaba as much as I absolutely loved Scatto scat, but BaneDavi blew me away, partly due to how amazing Davide was in that one. His dancing was perfect, and it was at that moment that I accepted that Sakagaki would definitely be the Davide closest to the actual David statue. Again, shake those hips and shoulders. I'm glad they decided to put in a shoulder pump Bane line, cause thats what Bane's all about. Bane unfortunately didn't get a lot of solo singing time, and when he did, he was shouting his way through so that was a minor point, but his arm muscles and beautiful exaggerated expressions made up for it. All in all, Sakagaki is really really handsome.
Why is this here? Someone explain
Acrobatic and genius Futaba unfortunatly didn't have the smooth voice 2nd had, which he made up for with sheer power. He ended his lines very breathy, something I definitely didn't expect since his music videos (okay I stalked his media a little) had him with a very light voice, that he somehow exchanged in the musical for a deep voice.I think he still can improve a lot on it, if he somehow managed to get rid of the unecessary vocal inflexions (lol no idea what im talking about). The song was a great example of how uselessly handsome Saeki is, really a big but handsome showoff. Shinchan did pretty as well despite falling short of breath a lot of times. I could imagine his voice as being a bit nasally though, so it was all fine.
Saeki, stop overcompensating, Icchan , your collar is adorable
Onna no kara chuu By far my favorite new song that Rokkaku got, MINI BUCHOU IS THE CUTEST. Not only did Takuya really surprise me with his vocal evenness (I expected nothing since his voice sounded like Horio to me at first) he also seems to have a natural happy and cheery feeling to him in the song, which couldn't really be said for other Aoi's. The song also got a lot more cooler, this time also adressing the pressure playstyle a bit more.
BaneDavi cheering on mini Buchou from the stands, I believe Saeki would have liked that place too
The second part is the benchwork. Ranging from Ryou benig fussy about his hair when Kenchan sings about women, to Icchan's preliminary kisses and Shudo having this enourmous MWAH kiss. Speaking about kisses, it seems like Saeki, Bane and Amane put more focus on the "cool" airkisses and Ryou on the direct kiss, but uh that's definitely not what this song is about right. Other cute parts include Kento mouthing parts of the songs, Yugo doing a really agressive hagu hagu, but like very agressive, Davide accidentally falling of the stand during the chorus and Bane repriminding him a little bit (Reiji really makes a lot of mistakes huh). The choreography was a mix between chicken dance and some japanese girlish idol band, which I absolutely don't mind. Yes, give me more super adorable buchou songs. One day I want to compare all the buchou solo songs, ranging from Tachibana's impressive Kejime, Tezuka's powerful stoic songs, really fancy Atobe songs, Gangsta mafiosa Kite, Shiraishi's ecstasy and Yukimura's god songs VS mini buchou who wants to kiss a girl. Best buchou.
Various expression of chuus
Conclusion I love Rokkaku 3rd. I'm really looking forward to their party song in Rikkai (apparently Saeki rocks his solo) and more adlibs. There is so much more to say, but I'm afraid I've gone on too long.
Thanks for withstanding this mini essay!!

hi! thank you for running this blog, it's really sweet of you and i love reading your tags! if it's ok, i just wanted to ask, what do you like most about tenimyu?
hello!! thank you so much, it’s a pleasure for me to share tidbits about these boys!!! i just hope it can maybe make everyone appreciate them just a lil bit more ♥
and oooh, that’s such a difficult question!! i love way too many things about tenimyu and tenipuri in general. but here’s something i was thinking about yesterday…
one of my favorite things about tenimyu is how one of the key goals of the production is to launch young entertainers’ careers. earlier this week i bought a theater actor interview compilation/documentary named “butai danshi”, and a certain part of ikkei’s (7th oishi) interview particularly stood out to me: he mentioned how nelke’s executive producer once told him: “tenimyu shouldn’t be anyone’s goal, it’s a starting point.”
but beyond words, and beyond the extreme concrete fact that tenimyu has allowed several dozens of extremely popular actors, singers & voice actors to achieve such careers, it’s really obvious in how much attention and effort is put into training and bringing up the actors, especially in recent years!
extensive training camps that build the actors’ physical strength and endurance enough for them to be able to perform for 3~5 consecutive hours; constant vocal training, dance rehearsals and acting lessons to make sure every actor is up to standards while also allowing them to really stand out after graduating; the actors having to learn how to do their own makeup, hair and wigs, and get them done for every single one of the 100~300 shows they might do; the actors learning how to interact with fans and the public… and all this for 1~3 years in a row.
and most uniquely, the chance for new actors to build an extensive web of connections in all fields of japan’s entertainment industry thanks to the tennis family!! there’s the obvious advantages, like actors who shared the stage in tenimyu maintaining strong friendship & chemistry that really makes them stand out when they get to work together after graduating… or newer actors getting to meet, bond and work with more experienced seniors because they shared a role or team in tenimyu… but it goes even further than that; a recent example that particularly touched me was when dainyan (2nd kisarazu twins) announced his career shift from stage acting to voice acting, and the day after, kusuda (shishido’s voice actor) took him out for drinks and the two of them got to talk.
basically, tenimyu takes all these random kids with little to no experience, but instead of just giving them ~exposure~, they give them all the tools and skills they need to do well in the entertainment industry. and i feel like that’s a goal the staff really take to heart and embrace. i personally don’t know of any other production with male actors that puts so much into this! it just makes me really happy to see all these boys grow, whether they’re in the middle of growing or graduated over a decade ago and are still out here killing it!
(( THIS GOT WAY TOO LONG AND I AM SO SORRY ))

7 days of TeniPuri: Day 7 (14 Jan) Favorite Tenimyu cast (Rival Schools): Hyotei 3rd I'm just so, so into third season. Probably because it's more close to my generation and the actors are younger. And the visuals are amazing. Bye, second season. 3rd Hyotei is so different from 2nd, honestly. Especially Miura, compared to Tsune. Tsune is a very good Atobe, in terms of visuals. His voice is slightly unstable. Miura, on the other hand, has a more stable voice. Also, did I mention that he's 17? He also does ballet. A+ casting. For the other guys, I really like them. Kitano's Mukahi is pretty acrobatic, and he is very cute and also sassy. Ikumi's Yuushi is good in terms of character portrayal, but his voice for Yuushi is a little bit higher. I don't really leave a very big impression of Watanabe's Ootori, but I look foward to his further performances. Shunsuke, as Shishido also doesn't leave a very big impression on me, but he does look a little like a middle-aged man on stage. He looks better off-stage. Tamura, as Jirou, is a jumpy little bean that needs protection. His singing needs improvement tho. Kabaji's actor, whom I have NEVER memorize his name, looks pretty funny in Atobe's solo. His voice is pretty decent. Yamazaki's Taki is a fabulous sassy piece of shit. Tbh, I'm glad that Taki is added in the production in 2nd season. Utsumi's Hiyoshi has a pretty good voice, but he seriously needs more lines. I adored his selfies on Twitter with the other Tenimyu actors. Since I'm at school, that's all I'm gonna type. Also, this is the offical end of 7 days of TeniPuri. Once again, thanks for joining!

"Star-Myu," an Anime About Musicals, Becomes a Musical
This spring, fans of the anime Star-Myu -- about five high school boys who want to become stage musical stars -- can see their favorite anime realized as it was probably always meant to be: as a stage musical.
Based on the 2015 anime whose full title is Koko Boshi Kageki (High School Star Musical), Star-Myu will follow the ambitious Yuta Hoshitani as he attempts to follow his dreams of becoming a stage musical star. He and four other students form Team Otori, and together they strive to make it to the top of the prestigious Ayanagi Academy.
Yuta will be played by Taishi Sugie, known for his performance as China in Hetalia ~Singin' in the World~ and his run as Yuuji Hitouji in the Shitenhoji 2nd cast of TeniMyu.
Playing the gentle, stage-fright-stricken Toru will be Shota Yamanaka, who has appeared with twin brother Kenta in Ensemble Stars ~ on Stage! as musical duo 2wink. Voice actor Arthur Lounsbery, who voices pedigreed student Kaito in the anime, will reprise his role in the stage version. Kabuki actor Kakeru will be portrayed by Shogo Suzuki, who in addition to his stage work is known as Shinken Green in Shinkenger. And rounding out the cast as pianist Shuu is Kensuke Takahashi, best known for his leading role in Ultraman X.
Rounding out the cast announced so far are Ryo Hatakeyama (Haikyu!!) and Haruki Kiyama (BIOHAZARD THE STAGE) as council members Hiragi and Otori, respectively.
The musical will be performed from April 1-9 at Zepp Blue Theater Roppongi, and April 15 and 16 at Morinomiya Piloti Hall in Osaka. Tickets are 7,800 yen each, and will go on presale February 1.
