MBTI Type: ENFJ [The Protagonist]

However, just because an mbti isn't listed under a specific enneagram subtype, doesn't mean the combination is impossible. Correlations are extrmely subjective depending on which author you trust. For example, Naranjo's description of the subtypes is quite specific with little room for ambiguity, so only a few mbti types fit.

if you are curious if a certain correlation exists, it is better to evaulate the mbti and enneagram type separately

I will list the correlations based on Naranjo's description. This is my take so it may be inaccurate

I don't recommend typing by correlation but knowing the patterns is helpful

ENTJ e8 -> ENTJ Sx1, ENTJ So3, ENTJ Sx6

Explanation: Most of the "ENTJs want to control the environment" aligns more with Sx1's desire to reform imperfection than the lust of the e8. e8s are also generally less inquisitve and care less about symbolism, abstractionism, etc, which makes aux Ni. a type difficult to be e8. Although I don't think this combination is impossible at all, most of the ENTJ 8s are mistyped

Examples: Stalin (ENTJ Sp8 -> Sx6), Napoleon (ENTJ So8 -> So3), Gordon Ramsey (ESTJ Sx8 -> Sx1)

IxFP e1 -> IxFP Sp4

Explanation: Sp4s often feel the need to aim for righteousness and perfectionism. They may feel a need to be morally good, but lack the anger sin that makes up the e1

Examples: Ao Bing (IxFJ Sp1 -> Sp4), Zuko (ISFP Sp1 -> Sp4), Elsa (INFJ Sp1 -> Sp4)

ExTJ Sx3 -> ExFx Sx2

Explanation: Sx3 is generally an archetypical Fe user. I've seen many people who are interested in one-on-one relationships and also desire success to be typed as Sx3. Sx3 is a very chamelonic, accomodating, and actively insecure type, which often goes against these characters

Examples: Regina George (ESTJ Sx3 -> ESFJ So2), Mother Gothel (ESTJ Sx3 -> ESFJ Sx2)

ExFP e3 -> ExFP Sx4, Sx8, or Sx2

Explanation: ambitious ExFPs are often typed as this. I will say, vanity usually goes against Fi as a whole as vanity is a disconnection with one's true identity and emotions.

Examples: Syndrome (ENFP So3 -> Sx4), Naruto (ESFP So3 -> Sx8), Achilles (song of achilles) (ESFP Sx3 -> So8)

INTJ e4 -> INTJ Sx5

Explanation: Sx5 is a much more emotional subtype than regular 5s, so INTJs who believe they are more in tune with their emotions often type themselves as this. I'd say most of the time the e4 is a higher feeler mbti type

EnxP So6 -> ENxP So7

Explanation: this is what happens when you type instinctual variant separately from the enneagram type. So6 is a very rigid, rule-oriented, type, contradictory to Ne doms. Oftentimes Ne doms who are percieved as being more responsible are typed as this. I believe these types are social 7s, who act anti indulgent but are still gluttons

Examples: Peter Parker (ENFP So6 -> So7), Phoniex Wright (ENTP So6 -> So7)

ISTP Sp8 -> ISTP Sx6 or ISFP Sx4

Explanation: Just because someone is a quiet badass, doesn't mean they are a ISTP Sp8. This combination is possible, in my opinion, but often mistyped

Examples: Darth Maul (ISTP Sp8 -> ISFP Sx4), Megara (ISTP 8w9 -> Sx6)

ExFP So8 -> ExFP Sx4/Sx2

Explanation: a lot of the passionate, strong, and direct ExFP characters get typed as 8s due do their assertive nature. However, it is important to evaluate the character's core desires before typing based on behaviors. ESFP 8 is obviously a very common type, but it is often mistyped too.

Examples: Jasmine (ESFP So8 -> Sx4)

ENNEAGRAM TWO INTRODUCTION (Golden Retriever)

Two believes they’d be loved if they are helpful to others. Their objective in life is to be important in people’s lives.

Their (unconscious) fear is being unneeded and dispensable.

SEEKS: ATENTION (TO BE LOVED) By giving themselves to others and presenting a caring nature.

COMPLIANT TO: OTHERS' NEEDS “You don’t have to do this alone.” “How can I make myself useful?”

2s do not acknowledge their own vulnerability and neediness : they convince themselves that they don’t need anyone. At the same time, they believe they know best how to meet others’ emotional or practical needs, using this as a way to repress or reject their own.

Healthy 2s are assertive in offering support and empowerment, enjoying finding meaning in it. They actively contribute to the growth and happiness of their loved ones while respecting their autonomy. They recognize and communicate their own needs, understanding that their well-being matters too.

Average 2s struggle with setting boundaries. They might intrude, become pushy or overwhelm others as a way to to feel needed, which create a sense of dependency and possessiveness. They may overextend themselves, suppress their needs or negative feelings, believing that their value lies solely in self-sacrifice.

Healthy 2s possess strong emotional intuition, and use it to understand and meet others’ needs or expectations. They are generous with their time and energy, offering care without expecting anything in return. While still optimistic about people, they have learned to be more selective in how they offer themselves.

Average 2s enjoy helping others but unconsciously seek validation or love in return. If they feel unappreciated, they become passive-aggressive or even openly angry. esfp 9w8 sx/so 972

you're sensory-oriented, with a "hunger" for stimulation and to explore the world. you prefer adventure, and don't enjoy being in a state of boredom for extensive periods of time. honestly, you outline it yourself - se dom with a 7 fix.

when we narrow it down, being social isn't really confined to either estp or esfp - both can exhibit these characteristics (and are stereotyped to). but imo, esfp suits you a lot more. maintaining consistent values is definitely a fi trait to have, even if those values are blurry and hard to define. considering how esfp's are fi auxiliary, it's not surprising that fi may not be the most valued function.

even then, combined with your enneagram, the fi is almost "numbed," or overshadowed by your enneagram 9. this explains why, even if you have strongly felt values (beautiful no matter subjective beauty, kindness, etc), it might be hard to fully introspect and articulate what they actually are.

enneagram 9 was pretty clear. you tend to be positive, conflict-avoidant, and focus on maintaining a sense of harmony within your relationships. an 8 wing fits perfectly, as you explain being easily angered when those close to you are "messed with." being protective and highly loyal is def an indicator of social 8. this makes more sense, especially with your feelings with vulnerability and perceived weaknesses.

what made your 9 even clearer was the part about struggling to recognize your own needs. the enneagram 9's flaw is they neglect themselves, and end up pursuing relationships and attachments to others. thus, just like how you explain, the enneagram 9 is avoidant to abandonment. they don't want those around them to "drift away," the epitome of an sx9.

for the rest of your tritype, i settled with with 2 and 7. it came down to your sense of positivity despite risks, and your relentless optimism towards the future. 7 even checks out with your esfp and adventurousness. overall, 9, 2, and 7 are considered the "optimist" triad. i chose 7 over 2 for the fact that 2's and 9's often have conflicting approaches to relationships, while you seemed a bit more strongly leaning towards e9.
