When I haven’t been taking screenshots of the funny chalk cartoon, I’ve been thinking about the season of Doctor Who that just finished, and what I’d like to see more of from the show going forward.

I liked Series 14 well enough, with most episodes being really enjoyable, especially in the middle portion. But I’ll concur with the rest of the fandom that the finale didn’t seem like the right place to end things. What was up with spoon lady? And why was the climax so easy? And while there’s a lot of questions about the season’s story arc that seem like cop-outs and letdowns, I’ll wait until next season to see if there’s more than they’re currently letting on. Maybe I’m expecting something I’m not gonna get, because the New Series has nearly always had an issue with making its finales too big to resolve neatly.

But what I am putting all my chips on is another classic series villain returning next year. I feel like I know Russell T. Davies’ writing pretty well now. Too well. It’s usually damn good writing, and I’m still thrilled to speculate on who or what he can bring back for a new generation.

Below is a list of every enemy to return under his producer-ship (sans the Dalek Emperor and Rassilon, the latter a more morally grey force in the Classic Series). Patterns I’ve noticed are that they tend to come from the first half of the classic run, and they tend to be re-introduced in rough chronological order to when they debuted. The Autons and Toymaker are clear outliers, but between Dalek and Series 4, and now again with the start of Ncuti Gatwa’s tenure, there’s a sense of progression through rejuvinating the show’s history.

So my prediction for the next classic enemy to return is something from the back half of the Tom Baker era. Keeping with the new theme of bringing back the all-powerful entities, most likely the Fendahl or Black Guardian. Don’t hold me to these predictions…unless one comes true, in which case, I’ll have told you so.

And again, this is going off the foes re-introduced by Russell. The Great Intelligence, Ice Warriors, Silurians, Sea Devils and others have had their rematches under Steven Moffat and Chris Chibnall, but Doctor Who fans should never underestimate the showrunner’s personal influence on the show. Seriously.

So I've somewhat splashed in good old yugioh into my tumblr... I shouldn't be too surprised. But maybe i should talk about my favorite types and archetype of the game so far.

I'll discuss archetype first. Hands down my favorite archetype would have to be the memento archetype

The memento archetype was introduced in deck build pack:valient smashers. And it's levels,stats,types and attributes are all over the place. But these guys are very special. Not counting their big boss monsters every single memento monster is a retrained version of an old normal monster from yugiohs past.

Monsters like key mace,wretched ghost of the attic and even dark blade have come back to life.(which makes it more impressive these guys aren't zombies because usually where this angle goes)

The main strategy of this deck is to get out the big boss monster mementoal tecuhtlica combined creation

And boy is that a boss monster.

These guys even so far have implemented for there in archetype extra deck the oldest mechanic next to rituals(which i kinda hope we get in the future with all our old ritual monsters) the fusion mechanic

So they get a great vote from someone like me who did tons of appreciation and love for old normal monsters in the past(i can't remember what got me into yugioh because i didn't like it at first) and i also played allot of old games like reshef of destruction(so a healthy love for illusion monsters but That's for another day) and so many otherbold yugioh games and they always give you structure decks filled to the brim with very old normal monsters. So i care about them a lot and really like seeing these guys get rejuvinated.

Another point for them is there lore

You'd think these guys would have wicked or evil lore. Getting revived to take revenge on us for forgetting them... When in actuality they're so wholesome and are basically just a bunch of goobers.

All in all i really love these guys and i like sharing my favorite archetype in recent years with you all.

Post 3: Comparing Scream 4 and Jennifer's Body: Teenagers are HORRIFIC!

Jennifer’s Body reminded me heavily of a film we watched for the fearful femininity unit, Scream 4. The two films share a lot of characteristics in how gender and race play a role in creating these different characters, but mainly the two share similarities in how teenagers are horrific. In terms of Scream 4, both films focus on the idea of how teenage girls are considered to be sites of horror. Both films can relate back to Creed’s claim where she discusses how watching horror films represents the desire for perverse pleasure, and the desire to eject the abject from a safe perspective. In Scream 4, teenagers are perceived to be horrific because of how Jill, the “final girl,” is horrific in the literal sense of she would do anything to be as famous as her cousin Sidney, or even more. In Jennifer’s Body, teenagers are horrific because Jennifer is literally a man-eater who is killing these high school boys to satiate this blood thirsty appetite of hers that essentially rejuvinates her. I would also like to point out how the opening narration line of the film is “Hell is a teenage girl” and this line can literally be the definition of how teenagers are horrific. Scream 4 uses race and gender to produce certain characters to appear as the victim, hero, and villain, just like Jennifer’s Body. In Scream 4, the film mainly consists of white characters except for one Black police officer, who has very little scenes and lines before being killed instantaneously. In Jennifer’s Body, there is a lack of POC characters as well, and they are all essentially seen to be victims. From the two POC employees at the correctional facilities that Needy either offends through language or physically harms, and Ahmet the exchange student, the entire plot line of the film follows white characters as well. Even though the victims in Scream 4 are mainly girls and in Jennifer’s Body the victims are all boys, the two films use gender to bring to light the idea of feminism by having the main killer be a woman. This makes a note of how women can also be brutal killers and have a more complex character. This can be seen through the lens of post feminism for both films, where the genre essentially is creating a space for female characters to not be punished for their sexuality or vulnerability.

1. I think I've only seen a shooting star maybe once in my life, but absolutely, yes I did wish on it.

2. hmm. there's not one movie that I find super funny or anything (at least not one that comes to mind). But the scene in LOTR when Bilbo is giving Frodo his mithril shirt and sees the ring on his neck and his face distorts, i have to watch that scene at least 3 times every time I watch LOTR because it sends me into the most ridiculous fit of giggles and has ever since I first saw it. I even get like pre-giggles cause I know when the scene is coming up and it's what I like to call an-tee-hee-cipation.

5. favorite season is autumn, even though I don't experience true seasonal changes like some places do. But like 60-70° weather, leaves changing colors, also Halloween time, it just makes me feel rejuvinated- especially since it comes after Summer, which I do not enjoy at all lol

10. I wish it rained 4-5 days out of the week. Whenever I wake up to a rainy day, I feel so excited, like my chest gets all fluttery and it puts me in a fantastic mood. It's especially nice when I don't have any other obligations when it rains and Ican just lay in bed, listening to it or even go for a little walk in it and breathe in the rain-smell. Very refreshing.
