Good Omens graphic novel update: August 2024

This time last year, the Kickstarter was in full swing, what a journey it’s been since then! Colleen is still working hard to complete the graphic novel and we have some incredible pages to share with you.

There have been many merchandise updates in the past few months and whilst a number of backers told us they loved these, others wanted to hear more directly about the graphic novel itself. So, for this month we will focus 100% on Colleen’s work, and how the various editions of the book are coming along. Everything is shaping up rather nicely, if we do say so ourselves!

You may have seen some of the sneak peeks Colleen has posted recently, such as this wonderful scene between our heroes:

And our favourite angel and demon on the road.

Collen has recently shared a rare view from her drawing board with us. "Working on pages 75 pages apart at the same time" she explains. The joy for us is that these pages arrive similarly out of order, so the graphic novel is unfurling like a magnificent jigsaw.

The reversible alternative covers by Rachael Stott and Frank Quitely are coming together beautifully. Different vibes, both ‘heavenly’ and we’re delighted to share them with you:

As we enter the latter stages of inking and colouring, we're also getting glorious new artwork by the bucketload. Colleen has been working diligently and it’s simply wonderful to see the story coming to life so vibrantly.

The Good Omens graphic novel was listed to publish in July 2024 - why have I not received it? We shared an update on April 16th 2024 introducing the new timeline and full context on why dates had to be moved. You can read that here. We appreciate that some didn't catch the timeline update and had been expecting items to arrive across July and August - the graphic novel and surrounding items are due to arrive in Spring 2025 to align with the new publication date. I've been in touch with a query about my pledge but have not heard back - what should I do? We have been dealing with a significantly increased number of messages recently and our team are working through them as best we can. Events

We announced in our June update that Crowley's S2 Bentley would be appearing at ACME Comic Con in Glasgow. Unfortunately, our team will no longer be attending, so the Bentley will not appear at this event. We wanted to let you know as soon as possible in case you have booked tickets expressly to see it, or to meet the Good Omens HQ team. Maggie Service is also no longer attending the event, however Quelin Sepulveda, our beloved Muriel, is still appearing on the Saturday, and there are many filming locations around the central belt of Scotland if you are visiting, so you can still make your trip a little more ineffable. We apologise for any disruption to your plans.

Colleen has also had to cancel her appearance at the upcoming DragonCon, as she explains here.

If you give a man a baby

Carlos just stares as the fan hands her baby, her eleventh month old, to Lando and steps back with her phone. The baby is wearing a dinosaur onesie, feet tucked away but soft, hair tufty and sparse. Lando stands contrapose, one hip helping support the baby as Lando has him under the arms and around the belly. His big hands covering almost all of the dinosaur pattern as he holds the baby securely.

“Look here, sweetie!” The fan tells her baby, trying to get a picture he will never remember of the time he met two Formula 1 drivers at the Monaco mall. The baby looks at the camera, opens his mouth and makes a joyful noise at his mother, little hands flapping. Carlos watches Lando smile, at the baby and then the camera. Carlos is still staring at Lando, holding the chubby and gleeful baby, when the flash goes off.

“Jeez, Carlos,” Lando murmurs against his lips when Carlos presses him into the wall by the front door. “What got—got you going?”

Carlos just makes a long noise against Lando’s lips and grips his hips as he tilts his head more to lick into Lando’s mouth. Carlos toes off his shoes, kicking them to the side as he refuses to stop kissing Lando. He realizes what Carlos is doing with his feet and is smiling into the kiss.

“Stop laughing,” Carlos tells him when they break apart. Carlos is already grabbing Lando’s arm to drag him towards the bedroom. When Carlos glances back, Lando is giving him a toothy little smile.

“What was it?” He asks as Carlos pushes through the bedroom door and pulls Lando down onto the bed with him. He comes easily, folding his legs under his hips as he settles over Carlos’s lap. Lando gets the same toothy grin on his face again when he realizes how hard Carlos is in his jeans. He bites his lip and looks at Carlos with a thoughtful expression.

“Was it the sweater I tried on in Acme?” Carlos shakes his head as he gets his fingers under the hem of Lando’s hoodie and peels it off of him, Lando’s curls springing free from the neckline as Carlos tosses it away. Lando’s nipples are pebbling at the cold room and Carlos leans forwards to get his mouth on one. Above him, Lando gasps and buries one hand into Carlos’s hair, holding his face to his chest.

Lando’s voice is tight when he speaks again. “Was it when I pointed out that fucking leather shop?” Carlos makes a negative noise but doesn’t remove his mouth from Lando’s skin. He gently takes the nipple in his teeth and is rewarded by the way Lando’s entire body jumps. “Wasn’t the fucking kink joke?”

Carlos noses his way up to Lando’s neck. When Lando used his hand in Carlos’s hair to pull his face back, Carlos goes easily. They stare at one another a moment, and that’s when Carlos realizes Lando is rocking his hips down into Carlos’s hard cock in gentle, rhythmic little pushes.

Lando knits his brow. “What was it, Carlos?”

I have been reading all of your deep dives and they are a fascinating read so thank you for all the effort you clearly put into compiling all of that. I appreciate you stick to fact but I’m intrigued as to how, in your view, the timeline of Blake’s divorce played out? There’s been so many competing stories over the years that nothing actually falls neatly into place

Yeah, I decided to lay out the divorce timeline without including too many unverified rumors because there are just so many of them. I can see how random people's stories could be believable, but it's just hard to commit to buying them when I don't know who they are or where they got the info from.

But in laying out the timeline with mostly facts and things that have a source, it helps me to see which unverified rumors make sense and which don't. So I do have a timeline I feel pretty confident about and I'll get into it below the cut.

One of the most trustworthy sources IMO is Lainey Gossip, so I lean towards her blind item after the divorce was announced about how it was "very recently" that Miranda had been "caught cheating with a member of her tour team."  Then, I think if I am going to lean towards believing any of the anonymous theories/claims about the timeline, I would go back to the now defunct "nashtruth" account that apparently pointed to January as the beginning of an affair, apparently before Gwen had said anything about January in her Howard Stern interview. I only have this info thirdhand from when Nicole's old blog talked about it here. 

Ask: That nashtruth account interests me because they were stating that the affair started in January long before Gwen mentioned January in the Howard Stern interview. It seems like nashtruth is somebody who was in the know. The way that nashtruth suggests that it all went down is that Blake confronted M in the spring and discovered THEN the affair had been ongoing since Jan (not that he got suspicious in Jan that something was up.) This is consistent with him being blindsided, as I've suspected. Nicole's Answer: Yeah, their repeated claim is the affair was from January to May, that Miranda left HIM in May, and that Blake didn’t confront her and thus find out about the affair until July.

Miranda's song "Run" that she wrote at the end of 2015 and released late last year also makes sense to the theory that she was pulling away during that time and "ran." People Magazine also reported that she wanted a trial separation. I think her unhappiness and affair seriously made her considering leaving, but I am not sure I believe she ever really would have pulled the plug. There was so much at stake career-wise. Blake was probably very confused and wanting to work it out to a point, but then when he found out about the affair, it pushed him to file and make things final. 

So ultimately, I think this is what I believe the timeline was: 

January 2015: I think when Gwen said "his thing began in January" about Blake in her Stern interview, that it was regarding the fact that Miranda's Platinum tour had resumed in January, and Blake later found out that things had ramped up then between her and her tour manager. (The tour had been on a break since September).

February-April 2015: They continue to act like everything is fine and are still spending time together like normal, but things are slowly deteriorating behind the scenes and Blake probably doesn't really know why. People think he looks sad in surprise performances together in March. He is her biggest cheerleader at the Grammys and ACMS even though she 'forgets' to thank him at both, and just posts about him after the fact on social media. They still post about each other and are doing things together publicly and at home. 

May 2015: I think throughout May they were on their last gasps - Blake goes to a horse show with her, they go to Key West for their wedding anniversary (but neither posts about it), he talks about her like everything is normal during press for Bayou Super Fest. But their last sighting is near the end of May having dinner in Oklahoma, and it seems like they completely go their separate ways after that. Blake would later confirm that by the end of May is when "Things were starting to get bad with my marriage at that point" (when the flooding was going on and he has the dream that leads to writing "Savior's Shadow"). 

June 2015: According to People magazine, another reliable source: By June, however, things had started to unravel. A Lambert friend says she wanted time apart “to reflect” on the marriage. 

Blake later confirms: "By the time I got to June/July, I mean, the bottom pretty much fell out of my marriage. And there was just, to the point where there was no fixing it." 

There are no confirmed sightings of them together this whole month. She does not post for his birthday. I think it's very likely that they had some kind of come-to-Jesus discussions and whatever the official designation was, they were basically separated. Did Blake know about the affair yet in June? I'm not sure. I tend to believe that they did start getting divorce paperwork together this month, but maybe he wasn't yet ready to file and was holding on to the barest of hope.

July 2015: He and Miranda played Greenbrier on Friday, July 3, with no interaction. Miranda was also seen that weekend without her wedding ring for the first time after keeping it on all of June. Gwen later indicates Blake found something out the weekend before he filed (on Monday, July 6).  "...he had found out on Saturday about his whole thing."

Ultimately I think that he finally found out about her affair and it pushed him to file very suddenly, as Lainey Gossip indicated. 

People magazine also stated: “She wanted to try and make it work, maybe have more of a separation,” the friend says. “But he said, ‘I’m filing.’” 

Yet a Shelton source insists he had no choice.  

“It came on very quickly,” the source says. “It was very clear that things weren’t going to work out. So he decided to end it."

So in my opinion: Affair begins and/or ramps up in January. Things deteriorate January through May. Miranda pulls away and they are basically separated but not definitely splitting up for good yet. Then Blake finds out about the main affair, he files and ends it "very quickly" as the Lainey Gossip blind and People magazine source state. So it was sudden, but not thoroughly since their problems had been building all year.

A vintage Acme No.5 Full Vision Gas Mask that I've given a basic cleaning/parts replacement to This started off as an impulse buy since @bureau-of-mines technically had a No.5 already, but this one was listed very cheap and it had most of the accessories that ours was missing, not to mention one of the more uncommon coil spring head harnesses. Turns out this example was in much better condition than anticipated and all it needed was new lenses. The massive lenses of Acme masks are normally a huge pain in the tail to replace, but this one went together quite easily.

The Adventures of Faith the Eevee - Ep 1

Season 1, Episode 1: Tied up at the Farmer's Market!

On a lovely Saturday morning, August 3rd, 2024, the Farmer's Market in Downtown Greenville, South Carolina, was bustling with activity. Faith Miller, a happy-go-lucky 20-year-old, walked alongside her father, Tony Miller, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. Faith wore a short-sleeved V-neck shirt with a white heart on it and blue skorts. Her purple pocketbook, containing her phone charger, headphones, and phone, swung gently by her side.

As they strolled through the market, Faith's eyes were drawn to a vendor called Bossy Bakers, known for their delectable desserts. To her surprise, she saw Maurice LaMarche and Rob Paulsen, famous for their voices as The Brain and Pinky respectively, working at the stall.

"Hi there!" Rob greeted in Pinky's voice, his familiar tones bringing a smile to Faith's face. "Brain and I need some extra money for the fall season, so here we are, selling desserts. Narf!"

Faith laughed and explained, "My mom is going to talk to me about getting a job taking care of pets for different owners. If I were to take care of two lab mice from Acme Labs, I would have a lot of fun with them!"

Maurice, speaking as The Brain, nodded appreciatively. "Indeed. Disguises are essential. It's one of the masterclass lessons Animaniacs had last spring."

"I love those MasterClasses," Faith said. "They teach so much about the art of disguise and appearances."

Maurice and Rob, both members of Faith's F.L.A.R.E.S team, appreciated her enthusiasm. Faith then mentioned needing something to give to her mom, Sharon.

Rob, still in character as Pinky, handed her a variety of pies: blueberry, pumpkin, banana cream, and cherry. "Here you go! One for you and some for your mom. Narf!"

Tony, curious about his daughter's secret life, asked, "Faith, are you the leader of F.L.A.R.E.S?"

Faith beamed. "Yes, Dad, I am!"

As they continued to walk, Faith noticed it was Adventure Week on Pokémon GO. She tried to catch an Amaura but got distracted by the delicious smell of fried chicken sandwiches. Despite her petite frame of 120 pounds, she couldn't resist and devoured five sandwiches. Feeling satisfied but slightly overstuffed, she struggled to carry her boxes of pies.

Maurice offered to help by placing the pies in a moveable shopping bag. As they continued, Faith spotted an Applin near an apple vendor.

"Oh my goodness, it's an Applin!" Faith exclaimed, pulling out her cleverly disguised Rotom Phone.

"Applin, the Apple Core Pokémon. A Grass and Dragon type. Applin is born inside an apple and will spend its entire life inside that same apple. It uses the body fluids surrounding its body to make its skin ripe so it doesn't rot," her Rotom Phone explained.

The Applin, frightened by the apple pie Faith was holding, scurried away. "Wait, come back!" Faith cried, chasing after it.

She sent out her Starly to help find the Applin. Starly quickly located it near a cake vendor and gently grabbed it with its talons, returning it to Faith. The Applin hid inside Faith's bag, feeling safe.
