Oh.

To call WT's actions "antics" would be reducing the severity of what they're doing to creators. This is unacceptable behavior and it should be all the more reason for creators to start exploring other career paths outside of WT. For years they've been meticulously crafting an environment where people believe that WT is the only path to success, where WT controls the degree of success creators can achieve, from the manipulation of the promotional system to the lack of tagging and proper search functions on the app. Now that they've boiled the frog to this point, they're cashing out by flooding the platform with cheap imports, implementing AI tools, and of course, trying to use their contracts as a way to trap creators and keep them from owning their own IP's and maximizing on their own success.
I said it before and I'll say it again - Webtoons is planning to go public with their IPO this summer, so it would be a real shame if creators spoke up about the underhanded tactics used by WT to keep them from finding success in their own works. At the very least, it should serve as a reminder to all of us that companies like these can't amass billions without exploiting people along the way.
We can't even use "they're creating jobs for comic creators" as a reason to want to see WT succeed in spite of their flaws anymore because they're literally ruining people's careers, cutting them off before they've even started. That's not the platform being "flawed", that's the platform and the system it's built on being broken, full stop.

"For the first time in almost 60 years, a state has formally overturned a so-called âright to workâ law, clearing the way for workers to organize new union locals, collectively bargain, and make their voices heard at election time.
This week, Michigan finalized the process of eliminating a decade-old âright to workâ law, which began with the shift in control of the state legislature from anti-union Republicans to pro-union Democrats following the 2022 election. âThis moment has been decades in the making,â declared Michigan AFL-CIO President Ron Bieber. âBy standing up and taking their power back, at the ballot box and in the workplace, workers have made it clear Michigan is and always will be the beating heart of the modern American labor movement.â
[Note: The article doesn't actually explain it, so anyway, "right to work" laws are powerful and deceptively named pieces of anti-union legislation. What right to work laws do is ban "union shops," or companies where every worker that benefits from a union is required to pay dues to the union. Right-to-work laws really undermine the leverage and especially the funding of unions, by letting non-union members receive most of the benefits of a union without helping sustain them. Sources: x, x, x, x]
In addition to formally scrapping the anti-labor law on Tuesday [February 13, 2024], Michigan also restored prevailing-wage protections for construction workers, expanded collective bargaining rights for public school employees, and restored organizing rights for graduate student research assistants at the stateâs public colleges and universities. But even amid all of these wins for labor, it was the overturning of the âright to workâ law that caught the attention of unions nationwide...
Now, the tide has begun to turnâbeginning in a state with a rich labor history. And thatâs got the attention of union activists and working-class people nationwide...
At a time when the labor movement is showing renewed vigorâand notching a string of high-profile victories, including last yearâs successful strike by the United Auto Workers union against the Big Three carmakers, the historic UPS contract victory by the Teamsters, the SAG-AFTRA strike win in a struggle over abuses of AI technology in particular and the future of work in general, and the explosion of grassroots union organizing at workplaces across the countryâthe overturning of Michiganâs âright to workâ law and the implementation of a sweeping pro-union agenda provides tangible evidence of how much has changed in recent years for workers and their unions...
By the mid-2010s, 27 states had âright to workâ laws on the books.
But then, as a new generation of workers embraced âFight for 15â organizing to raise wages, and campaigns to sign up workers at Starbucks and Amazon began to take off, the corporate-sponsored crusade to enact âright to workâ measures stalled. New Hampshireâs legislature blocked a proposed âright to workâ law in 2017 (and again in 2021), despite the fact that the measure was promoted by Republican Governor Chris Sununu. And in 2018, Missouri voters rejected a âright to workâ referendum by a 67-33 margin.
Preventing anti-union legislation from being enacted and implemented is one thing, however. Actually overturning an existing law is something else altogether.
But thatâs what happened in Michigan after 2022 voting saw the reelection of Governor Gretchen Whitmer, a labor ally, andâthanks to the overturning of gerrymandered legislative district maps that had favored the GOPâthe election of Democratic majorities in the state House and state Senate. For the first time in four decades, the Democrats controlled all the major levers of power in Michigan, and they used them to implement a sweeping pro-labor agenda. That was a significant shift for Michigan, to be sure. But it was also an indication of what could be done in other states across the Great Lakes region, and nationwide.
âMichigan Democrats took full control of the state government for the first time in 40 years. They used that power to repeal the stateâs âright to workâ law,â explained a delighted former US secretary of labor Robert Reich, who added, âThis is why we have to show up for our state and local elections.â"

When I read the news, I swear sometimes I'm either not understanding something really important, or this whole fucking thing is a lie.
Okay, so top of the article says that Apple will open "a new manufacturing factory in Texas over the next four years."
The article then reports this in the third paragraph:
The iPhone makerâs announcement underscores how tech giants are trying to forge a closer relationship with President Trump as his second administration imposes new tariffs on China â where Apple manufactures its products â and shapes policies on artificial intelligence.
Okay...
Then two more paragraphs down from that, after more discussion of the impact of tariffs on China and meeting with T at the WH, it says, "workers at the factory in Texas will produce servers for Apple Intelligence."
...okay... so they're not actually moving any manufacturing of their products to the United States. They're manufacturing servers for their new AI product.
Then it says this:
The 20,000 new jobs will mostly focus on research and development, silicon engineering, AI and machine learning, the Cupertino, Calif., company said.
So... they're not manufacturing jobs?
Then it says that Apple will expand in other states as well:
Those expansion plans include investments in data centers, its facilities and skills development for students and workers. At a manufacturing facility in Arizona, Apple said, it will spend heavily to produce advanced silicon that is used in its devices. In Detroit, the company said, itâs opening a manufacturing academy that will offer free courses online and in person. Apple engineers will team up with university experts to help small and medium-sized businesses implement AI and manufacturing methods.
So... the only reference to actually manufacturing an item or product is in Arizona where they're manufacturing "advanced silicon." Everything else is data centers, training centers, and attempts to get other businesses to implement its AI.
To be clear, iPhones, computers, airpods, and all the other ubiquitous Apple devices will continue to be manufactured outside of the United States. No movement there, despite the tariffs. So why this headline? Why does this article spend three paragraphs mentioning the tariffs?
On the one hand, shame on me for still subscribing to the LA Times and reading this regurgitated press release posing as an article. On the other hand, is it me...? Like... wtf? What am I not getting here?
I mean, I'm not saying that research and engineering jobs are somehow less valuable than manufacturing jobs, I'm just saying we are constantly being sold a total lie about companies making a manufacturing investment in the United States. It's all just AI data centers. That's it. That does not require a significant number of skilled manufacturing workers. It's just going to be empty towns. Empty towns with huge warehouses.
I just think the whole article is so disingenuous. I'm embarrassed that this stands for journalism, I'm embarrassed thinking about the people who will read the headline and think 'Oh, nice!' Especially to the extent that it implies directly states that the tariffs are good or successful for AMERICAN WORKERS. All of this was re-printed by the LAT with no questioning or skepticism or additional clarity added.
I'm just so fucking over it.

Joan McCarter at Daily Kos:
President Joe Biden isnât accepting the idea that heâs a lame duck president. He continues to build on his already impressive record with actions and ideas to help the American people. Heâs also setting up Kamala Harris for potential presidential success, which could end up being the most profound part of his legacy. The most recent incredible success from Biden and his team is securing the releaseof two Americans detained in Russia, Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich and Paul Whelan, a corporate security executive from Michigan. Alsu Kurmasheva, a journalist working for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, and Vladimir Kara-Murza, a Washington Post opinions contributor, are also being released as part of the deal. Gershkovich and Whelan had been convicted of bogus espionage charges by Russian dictator Vladimir Putinâs regime. Bringing them home was a promise Biden made in his Oval Office speech explaining his decision to end his reelection campaign.
[...]
At home, Biden is committed to seeing through his student loan debt relief plans. The administration sent out emails to borrowers Wednesday, letting them know that someâor in some cases, allâof their debt will be canceled this fall when his executive order is fully implemented, and explaining how they can benefit. Thatâs relief for about 30 million borrowers, according to the White House. âDespite attempts led by Republican elected officials to block our efforts, we wonât stop fighting to provide relief to student loan borrowers, fix the broken student loan system, and help borrowers get out from under the burden of student debt,â Biden said.Â
Biden also developed a sweeping plan for combatting housing costs and out-of-control rent inflation. Itâs an ambitious proposal, giving corporate landlords a choice: âeither cap rent increases on existing units at 5% or risk losing current valuable federal tax breaks.â That last part would take Congressâs help. The action he can, and is, taking on his own is ordering agencies to inventory federal lands that can be repurposed âto build tens of thousands of affordable homes.â Bidenâs Department of Housing and Urban Development just announced $325 million in Choice Neighborhoods grants, which will be used to âbuild over 6,500 units of new housing, support small businesses, build childcare centers and new parks, and will be used to leverage more than $2.65 billion in additional public and private investments in these neighborhoods.â Choice Neighborhoods is a HUD initiative to revitalize struggling neighborhoods into mixed-income housing. In another family-friendly action, Biden is fighting to keep airlines from price-gouging families. Heâs proposing a ban on the extra fees airlines charge parents to sit with their children.
[...] Biden is also looking to future-proof against the potential dangers of AI technology with an order directing every federal agency and department that could be affected to create standards and regulations overseeing AIâthatâs everything from health care to housing to national security. [...] The Biden administration is also galvanized to step up the fight against fentanyl, with Biden on Wednesday directing all related federal agencies to coordinate actions to stop the flow of the drug.
President Joe Biden is still fighting for Americans, even after he passed the torch to Kamala Harris. #JoeBiden

I see your point about platforms allowing scraping - hopefully AO3 is successful not only with their current DCMA takedown action but also in installing safeguards to prevent this from happening in the future.
I REALLY hope so. I was actually so incredibly disappointed with them for allowing AI generated content on the platform at all (which I get is tough because how are they supposed to make that call, and I guess if they banned anyone using AI as a label/tag, people would just get sneakier about it), but Iâm hoping this forces them to implement some anti scrapping tool.

Cybernetics with Chinese Characteristics & why we suck at the real Grand Strategy Game
Part 2 - The Quickening
Back in 2023, I wrote this more blog-like post about the mid 20th century McCarthyite purges of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the knock on effects that had - Namely the inception of the Chinese nuclear program, one-child policy and Chinese computing scene.
Since nothing is new under the sun, we have recently witnessed yet another example of America shooting itself in the foot, yet again, due to it's McCarthyite style purge of Chinese technology.
The release of the Chinese created AI system DeepSeek R1 last week has lead to the largest US stock market loss in history with NVIDIA stock decimated.
A record $465 Billion was wiped off its valuation in a single day. In 2024, the government of Turkey spent this much in a year on it's responsibilities?
Why did this happen?
As always, a lot can be put down to US foreign policy, and the in-intended implications of seemingly positive actions.
Do you want to start a trade war?
Back in the relatively uncontroversial days of the first Trump Presidency (Yes it does feel odd saying that) there were scandals with hardware provided by Chinese company Huawei. This led to the  National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019 which explicitly banned Huawei and ZTE's hardware from use in US Government institutions. It also meant the US had to authorise US component manufacturer purchases by these companies.
Crucially this had a 27 month window. This allowed both companies to switch suppliers, and production to domestic suppliers. This actually led to Chinese chip advances. Following on from this came the 2022 move by the US Department of Commerce: "Commerce Implements New Export Controls on Advanced Computing and Semiconductor Manufacturing Items to the Peopleâs Republic of China (PRC) ". This further limited the supply of semiconductor, supercomputer, and similar hardware to the PRC and associated countries.
Ok, well so far this is fairly dry stuff. You might think it would hamper Chinese development and, to some extent, it did.
It also proved to be the main catalyst for one financial quant.
Meet the Quant
Meet Liang Wenfeng (ć˘ćé). Educated to masters level, Liang was keen to apply machine learning methods to various field, but couldn't get a break. Finally, in the mid 2000's, he settled on a career investigating quantitative trading using machine learning techniques.
He became successful, founding several trading firms based around using machine learning methods, but his interest in base AI never seemed to cease. It was in 2021 that he started purchasing multiple NVIDIA GPUs to create a side project, leading to the creation of DeepSeek in 2023.
Now, due to import limitations, there were limitations on computation. This, however, did not stop DeepSeek's programming team.
Instead they used it as their strength.
Constrains Breed Innovation
For many years, the Western model of AI releases have focussed on making ever larger and larger models.
Why?
Let's break this down from an evolutionary point of view. Modern Western technology companies are largely monopolistic and monolithic. Many of these companies have previously hired staff at higher salaries not to fill roles, but to deny their competitors, and middle market firms, high-flying staff.
They also closely guard trade secrets. What's the training data? What algorithms were used in construction? Guess you'd better chat up some Silicon Valley bros at parties to find out.
For these kinds of firms, having control over large models, housed in data centres makes perfect sense. Controlling model deployment on their own computing systems, and not using local machines, means that they can not only control their systems more carefully, it also means that they can gatekeep access.
If your business model is to allow people to access your models on your servers, and your employees are focussed on making the biggest, best, models, there is no impetus to innovate more efficient, smaller models.
Companies such as OpenAI therefore have the following traits:
Research/Model focus on size over efficiency
Profit driven culture, with emphasis on closed source code
OpenAI's initial focus was as a non-for-profit developing Artificial General Intelligence. This became a for-profit driven company over time. - âI personally chose the price and thought we would make some money.â - Sam Altman
Staff working within paradigm they set in the early 2020's with established code libraries and direct contact with hardware companies creating chips
Significant capital investment - Upwards of several $ billions
DeepSeek, in comparison, is slightly different
For DeepSeek, necessity made innovation necessary. In order to create similar, or better models, than their counterparts, they needed to significantly optimise their code. This requires significantly more work to create, and write, libraries compared to OpenAI.
DeepSeek was started by financial quants, with backgrounds in mainly mathematics and AI. With a focus on mathematics and research, the main drive of many in the company has been exploration of the research space over concerns about profitability.
DeepSeek has also done what OpenAI stopped years ago: actually releasing the code and data for their models. Not only can these models therefore be run via their own gated servers, anyone can replicate their work and make their own system.
For DeepSeek, their traits were:
Research/Model focus on both efficiency and accuracy
Research driven culture, with open nature - âBasic science research rarely offers high returns on investmentâ - Liang Wenfeng
Strong mathematical background of staff, with ability to work around software, and hardware, constraints
Low capital investment of around $5.5 million
From an evolutionary point of view, DeepSeek's traits have outcompeted those of OpenAI.
More efficient models cost less to run. They also more portable to local machines.
The strong ability of DeepSeek's research focussed staff allowed them to innovate around hardware constraints
Opening up the code to everyone allows anyone (still with the right hardware) to make their own version.
To top it off, the cost to make, and run, DeepSeek R1 is a fraction of the cost of OpenAI's model
House of Cards
Now we can return to today. NVIDIA has lost significant market value. It's not just limited to NVIDIA, but to the entire US technology sector with the most AI adjacent companies losing from 10% to 30% of their valuation in a single day.
The culture, and business model, of OpenAI isn't just limited to OpenAI, but to the entire US technology ecosystem. The US model has been to create rentier-style financial instruments at sky-high valuations.
US tech stocks have been one of the only success stories for America over the past few decades, ever since the offshoring of many manufacturing industries. Like a lost long-unemployed Detroit auto-worker the US has been mainlining technology like Fentanyl, ignoring the anti-trust doctors advice, injecting pure deregulated substances into its veins.
The new AI boom? A new stronger hit, ready for Wall Street, and Private Equity to tie the tourniquet around its arm and pump it right into the arteries.
Like Prometheus, DeepSeek has delved deep and retrieved fire from the algorithmic gods, and shown it's creation to the world. The stock market is on fire, as the traders are coming off of their high, realising they still live in the ruin of barren, decrepit, warehouses and manufactories. The corporate heads, and company leaders reigning over the wreckage like feudal lords, collecting tithes from the serfs working their domain.
A Tale of Two Cities
The rise of DeepSeek isn't just a one-off story of derring-do in the AI world: It's a symbolic representation of the changing world order. DeepSeek is but one company among many who are outcompeting the US, and the world, in innovation.
Where once US free-markets led the world in manufacturing, technology and military capability, now the US is a country devoid of coherent state regulated free-market principles - its place as the singular world power decimated by destroying the very systems which made it great.
"Our merchants and master-manufacturers complain much of the bad effects of high wages in raising the price, and thereby lessening the sale of their goods both at home and abroad. They say nothing concerning the bad effects of high profits. They are silent with regard to the pernicious effects of their own gains. They complain only of those of other people." - Adam Smith, The Wealth of Nations
By selling the jobs of working class communities to overseas businesses, destroying unions and creating rentier based business models without significant anti-trust measures, US business and political elites have sealed the present fate of the country.
The CCP led, but strongly anti-trust enforcing, China has been able to innovate, ironically, using the free-market principles of Adam Smith to rise up and create some of the world's best innovations. The factories, opened by Western business leaders to avoid union/worker labour costs in their own countries, have led Shenzhen, and similar cities, to become hubs of technological innovation - compounding their ability to determine the future of technologies across the world.
Will America be able to regain its position on top? It's too early to say, but the innovative, talented, people who made America in the 20th century can certainly do it again.
As Franklin D. Roosevelt once said: âThe liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerated the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than the democratic state itself...
We know now that Government by organized money is just as dangerous as Government by organized mob.
Never before in all our history have these forces been so united against one candidate as they stand today. They are unanimous in their hate for meâand I welcome their hatred.â
Until then, here's a farewell to the American Century ĺ¨éŁäšĺ, ĺč§çžĺ˝ä¸çşŞ

How to Balance PvE and PvP in MMORPGs
Creating a successful MMORPG requires careful attention to one of the most challenging aspects of MMORPG game development: balancing Player versus Environment (PvE) and Player versus Player (PvP) content. When these two gameplay pillars are properly balanced, they create a rich, dynamic world that keeps players engaged for years. When they're not, your game can quickly lose its player base.

Why Balance Matters in MMORPG Game Development
MMORPGs thrive on diverse player preferences. Some players love raiding dungeons and defeating epic bosses, while others crave the thrill of outmaneuvering human opponents. The most successful MMORPGs don't force players to chooseâthey create ecosystems where both playstyles can coexist and complement each other.
As experienced developers know, imbalance can lead to serious problems:
Player exodus when one type of content receives preferential treatment
"Dead" game areas when certain content lacks meaningful rewards
Community division between PvE and PvP players
Power imbalances that make content trivial or frustratingly difficult
Core Principles for Balancing PvE and PvP
1. Separate Skill Systems When Necessary
One fundamental approach in MMORPG game development is implementing different rules for skills in PvE versus PvP contexts. Many abilities that work well against predictable AI enemies can become overwhelming when used against other players.
Consider World of Warcraft's approach: many crowd control abilities have different durations when used against players compared to monsters. This simple adjustment prevents PvP matches from becoming frustrating stun-lock festivals while still allowing those abilities to remain useful in dungeons.
2. Create Meaningful Progression Paths for Both
Players need to feel their preferred gameplay style offers legitimate advancement. A common pitfall in MMORPG game development is making the best gear exclusive to one content type.
Guild Wars 2 solves this elegantly by offering multiple paths to equivalent gear. Whether you're exploring story content, raiding, or competing in structured PvP, you're making meaningful progress toward your character's growth.
3. Design Complementary Reward Structures
Smart reward structures encourage players to engage with both content types without forcing them into gameplay they don't enjoy.
Final Fantasy XIV implements this brilliantly:
PvP offers unique cosmetic rewards and titles that don't affect PvE power
PvE progression rewards that remain relevant to casual PvPers
Seasonal PvP rewards that maintain engagement without creating power imbalances
4. Consider Scaling Systems
Scaling systems are increasingly common in modern MMORPG game development, allowing characters of different power levels to compete on more even terms.
Elder Scrolls Online's battle scaling system normalizes stats in PvP areas, ensuring that gear differences matter but don't make fights impossible. This approach lets newer players participate while still rewarding veterans' progression.
Technical Implementation Challenges
Skill Effect Modifiers
Implementing separate modifiers for skills across different content types creates additional complexity. Your system architecture needs to support contextual rule changes that can dynamically adjust how abilities function based on whether they're being used in PvE or PvP scenarios.
For example, a stun ability might last 5 seconds against a dungeon boss but only 2 seconds against another player. These contextual adjustments help maintain balance without creating separate ability sets.
Data-Driven Balance
Successful MMORPG game development requires continual refinement based on player behavior data. Implement robust telemetry systems to track:
Win rates in different PvP brackets
Completion times for PvE content
Class/build representation across content types
Economic impacts of different activities
This data forms the foundation for informed balance decisions rather than relying solely on player feedback, which often skews toward the most vocal community members.
Case Studies: Learning From Success and Failure
Guild Wars 2: Structured PvP Success
ArenaNet's approach to structured PvP in Guild Wars 2 represents one of the most elegant solutions in MMORPG game development. By completely separating PvP builds and gear from PvE progression, they created a truly skill-based PvP environment while allowing their PvE systems to scale naturally.
World of Warcraft: The PvP Power Experiment
Blizzard's introduction of PvP Power and PvP Resilience stats was an attempt to solve balance issues by creating separate gear progressions. While theoretically sound, this approach created problems:
Players needed separate gear sets for different content
PvE players felt forced into PvP to remain competitive
The system added complexity without solving core balance issues
The eventual removal of these stats and return to unified gear with contextual modifiers proves that simpler solutions are often better in MMORPG game development.
Integration Strategies That Work
Territorial Control With Benefits
Territorial PvP becomes more compelling when it offers benefits that extend to PvE gameplay. Black Desert Online uses this approach effectively, with guild warfare providing economic advantages that benefit both PvP-focused players and their more PvE-oriented guildmates.
Optional Flag Systems
Many successful MMORPGs implement flag systems allowing players to opt in or out of open-world PvP. This creates natural tension and excitement without forcing unwilling participants into combat situations they don't enjoy.
New World's territory control system exemplifies this approach, making PvP meaningful while keeping it optional for those who prefer PvE content.
Common Pitfalls to Avoid
In MMORPG game development, certain design decisions consistently lead to balance problems:
Making the best PvE gear require PvP participation (or vice versa)
Balancing classes primarily around one content type
Allowing gear advantages to completely overshadow skill in PvP
Creating "mandatory" grinds across content types
Neglecting one content type in major updates
Finding the Sweet Spot: Blending Content Types
The most successful MMORPGs find creative ways to blend PvE and PvP content:
ESO's Cyrodiil combines large-scale PvP with PvE objectives
FFXIV's Frontlines mixes competitive objectives with NPC enemies
Guild Wars 2's World vs. World incorporates PvE elements into massive realm warfare
These hybrid approaches satisfy both player types while encouraging interaction between different playstyles.
Conclusion
Successful MMORPG game development requires treating PvE and PvP balance as equally important, interconnected systems. By implementing contextual modifiers, separate progression paths, and data-driven balancing, you can create a game world where diverse player preferences are respected and rewarded.
Remember that perfect balance is never achievedâit's an ongoing process that requires constant attention and adjustment based on player behavior and feedback. The most successful MMORPGs view balance as a journey rather than a destination, with each update bringing the game closer to that elusive equilibrium that keeps all types of players engaged and satisfied.
By focusing on systems that allow both playstyles to thrive without undermining each other, you'll create an MMORPG that stands the test of time and builds a loyal, diverse community.

Android Unit
The Android Unit is a division of the Regular Army created and founded by Dervin Howard Aran.
Summary
Inspired by numerous media focusing on A.I. and Humanity, Derek created Project CORE: a project to create four (adopt a fifth and sixth) humanoid robots with highly advanced AI. He wants to see how Androids view the world around them. The A.I has the ability to evolve, form their own options, and most of all, have emotions. They can laugh, mourn, and love. Most of all, to form relationships, to form personalities, and to form tastes. That way, the android's can experience what humans experience in their daily lives. Thanks to this advancement, Derek implemented a heart in their chest. The CORE holds their emotions and personality. Meanwhile, the motherboard serves as the android's thoughts and senses.
The android's are equipped with powerful weapons that allow them to blaze through the battlefield without much trouble. Their skills in combat allow them to adapt and adjust their battle tactics more clearly. They greatly improve the Regular Army's firepower, no thanks to their programming and combat capabilities. Thanks to the Android unit, the Regular Army has been successful in pushing back the Rebels and any other hostile organization.
Few members of the PF Squad and Regular Army are shown to assist the androids with their technology. Derek personality hand selected these members because of their skills in engineering and software technology: Marco Rossi and Trevor Spacey handles the Androids software upgrade; Alisa Stewart is the androids Main Mechanic should they lose a limb; and Derek handles the Androids physical upgrades and leads them via navigation. The members perform these separate tasks in order to lighten Derek's workload. It also allows the selected members to perform emergency tasks should the androids fall in battle.
The Androids are mainly sent alongside the PF Squad and S.P.A.R.R.O.W.S members when a four man team isn't enough. However, they also receive classified missions that require the six of them. This is mainly due to the android's advanced capabilities: allowing them to face foes that are deemed a threat and to prevent the Regular Army from losing their best soldiers.

AGARTHA Aİ - DEVASA+ (2)

In todayâs digital landscape, a captivating and functional website is crucial for any business looking to thrive online. Full service web design encompasses a comprehensive approach, ensuring every aspect of your site is tailored to meet your unique needs. From the initial concept to the final launch, this service provides an array of offerings, including website service, responsive web design, and custom design services. Whether youâre a startup seeking to establish your brand or an established enterprise aiming to enhance your online presence, understanding the elements of full service web design is essential.Â
Full service web design
Full service web design encompasses all aspects of creating a website, from initial conceptualization to ongoing maintenance. This approach ensures that every detail is carefully considered to meet the specific needs of a business or individual. With a team of experienced designers and developers, full service web design offers a seamless experience that integrates aesthetics, functionality, and user experience.
One of the key advantages of opting for a full service web design is the cohesion of the website elements. Since all parts of the project are managed by a single team, there is less chance for miscommunication or inconsistency in design. This results in a more polished final product that reflects the brandâs identity while providing an engaging experience for visitors.
Additionally, full service web design allows for customized solutions tailored to unique requirements. Whether you need an e-commerce platform, a portfolio site, or a blog, a full service provider will offer dedicated support and expert advice throughout the entire process, ensuring your vision comes to life exactly as you imagined.
Website service
In today's digital landscape, website service is essential for businesses to thrive and maintain an online presence. A well-structured website serves as a powerful tool that encourages customer engagement and drives sales. By investing in a comprehensive website service, businesses can ensure that their website not only looks great but also functions seamlessly across all devices.
A key aspect of website service is the ability to optimize for search engines. By implementing SEO best practices, businesses can enhance their visibility and attract more organic traffic. This is where a reliable website service provider plays a crucial role, as they possess the expertise and techniques necessary to elevate your search engine rankings.
Furthermore, ongoing support and maintenance are vital components of a reliable website service. As technology evolves and user needs change, having a team that can promptly address issues or updates will keep your website relevant and effective in reaching target audiences. This ongoing relationship is instrumental in achieving long-term success in the digital realm.
Responsive web design
Responsive web design is an essential aspect of modern web development that ensures a seamless user experience across a variety of devices. With the increasing use of smartphones and tablets, having a website that adapts to different screen sizes is not just a luxury but a necessity.
The core principle of responsive web design is fluidity. This means that the layout of your website adjusts dynamically based on the screen width, ensuring that content remains accessible and visually appealing regardless of the device used. This approach improves usability and can significantly boost conversion rates.
Incorporating responsive web design techniques involves using flexible grids, images, and CSS media queries. These elements work together to create a layout that responds gracefully to changes in screen size, making your website not only functional but also competitive in the digital marketplace.
Custom design services
In today's digital landscape, custom design services have emerged as a vital component of creating a strong online presence. Businesses understand that a one-size-fits-all approach does not cater to their unique needs and branding. Therefore, opting for custom design services allows them to differentiate themselves in a crowded market.
These services offer tailored solutions that resonate with a company's specifics, from colors to typography and layout. By leveraging custom design services, businesses can ensure that their websites not only reflect their brand identity but also provide an intuitive user experience. This is crucial for keeping visitors engaged and encouraging them to take the desired actions.
Investing in custom design services ultimately contributes to better customer satisfaction and improved conversion rates. With a website designed specifically for their target audience, businesses can more effectively communicate their message and achieve their goals. This bespoke approach is invaluable in today's competitive environment.

That's the thing I hate probably The Most about AI stuff, even besides the environment and the power usage and the subordination of human ingenuity to AI black boxes; it's all so fucking samey and Dogshit to look at. And even when it's good that means you know it was a fluke and there is no way to find More of the stuff that was good
It's one of the central limitations of how "AI" of this variety is built. The learning models. Gradient descent, weighting, the attempts to appear genuine, and mass training on the widest possible body of inputs all mean that the model will trend to mediocrity no matter what you do about it. I'm not jabbing anyone here but the majority of all works are either bad or mediocre, and the chinese army approach necessitated by the architecture of ANNs and LLMs means that any model is destined to this fate.
This is related somewhat to the fear techbros have and are beginning to face of their models sucking in outputs from the models destroying what little success they have had. So much mediocre or nonsense garbage is out there now that it is effectively having the same effect in-breeding has on biological systems. And there is no solution because it is a fundamental aspect of trained systems.
The thing is, while humans are not really possessed of the ability to capture randomness in our creative outputs very well, our patterns tend to be more pseudorandom than what ML can capture and then regurgitate. This is part of the above drawback of statistical systems which LLMs are at their core just a very fancy and large-scale implementation of. This is also how humans can begin to recognise generated media even from very sophisticated models; we aren't really good at randomness, but too much structured pattern is a signal. Even in generated texts, you are subconsciously seeing patterns in the way words are strung together or used even if you aren't completely conscious of it. A sense that something feels uncanny goes beyond weird dolls and mannequins. You can tell that the framework is there but the substance is missing, or things are just bland. Humans remain just too capable of pattern recognition, and part of that means that the way we enjoy media which is little deviations from those patterns in non-trivial ways makes generative content just kind of mediocre once the awe wears off.
Related somewhat, the idea of a general LLM is totally off the table precisely because what generalism means for a trained model: that same mediocrity. Unlike humans, trained models cannot by definition become general; and also unlike humans, a general model is still wholly a specialised application that is good at not being good. A generalist human might not be as skilled as a specialist but is still capable of applying signs and symbols and meaning across specialties. A specialised human will 100% clap any trained model every day. The reason is simple and evident, the unassailable fact that trained models still cannot process meaning and signs and symbols let alone apply them in any actual concrete way. They cannot generate an idea, they cannot generate a feeling.
The reason human-created works still can drag machine-generated ones every day is the fact we are able to express ideas and signs through these non-lingual ways to create feelings and thoughts in our fellow humans. This act actually introduces some level of non-trivial and non-processable almost-but-not-quite random "data" into the works that machine-learning models simply cannot access. How do you identify feelings in an illustration? How do you quantify a received sensibility?
And as long as vulture capitalists and techbros continue to fixate on "wow computer bro" and cheap grifts, no amount of technical development will ever deliver these things from our exclusive propriety. Perhaps that is a good thing, I won't make a claim either way.

[Review] Halo Wars (PC)
An RTS you play with a controller??
Ensemble Studios had created the massively successful Age of Empires series of historical real-time strategy games. Even back in 2001, Microsoft was greedy for acquisitions and absorbed the company. Within eight years they would be decommissioned and disbanded (sad but all too common), immediately after Microsoft encouraged them to reskin an upcoming sci-fi RTS created specifically for consoles into a Halo game so it would sell better. Bungie wasn't happy about their IP being tossed around like this but who cares, get used to it mate. Halo Wars ended up quite good in the end, getting a later port to Xbone and PC by Behaviour Interactive, and even spawning a sequel (which unlike the first one isn't on Steam and I'd rather not set foot into the MS ecosystem more than I have to).
As the first-ever Halo spinoff, Halo Wars plays it safe by setting itself as a prequel, 20 years before the events of Combat Evolved. Prequelitis sets in pretty quick as they bring in the Prophet of Regret, and introduce a different Arbiter even though it felt like an ancient ceremonial station in Halo 2; halfway into the campaign you also arrive on a world infested by the parasitic Flood, undercutting their impact in the trilogy proper. I get including iconic elements like these, and the game would be lesser without them, plus they paper over the lore by stranding the characters and their ship without FTL travel at the end⌠it's just funny when a prequel has to bend over backwards to not trip over continuity.
Anyway, the main characters are the crew of a particular ship sent back to the site of first contact with the alien Covenant. You've got the gruff but competent captain, the sassy AI, the tediously standoffish sergeant, and the quirky scientist. They're all thinly drawn but lovingly rendered in the CG cutscenes by Blur Studios, who have worked on the Sonic movies and various other games (say what you will about Sonic 06, Dark Souls 2, and The Force Unleashed 2, those pre-rendered FMVs look damn good). The Covenant are hunting down Forerunner relics as usual and our little band chases them across space to a human colony and then to a hollow world bristling with both ancient technology and infectious zombies. Can the indomitable human spirit stop the genocidal plans of the Covenant? What do you think??
I was hoping for a Covenant campaign and they are a fully fleshed out faction available in skirmishes and multiplayerâcomplete with their own hero unitsâbut the story mode is only told from the human perspective. Across the 15 scenarios the objectives and setpieces are impressively varied, and there's also plenty of tailored loadouts and level-specific units to keep things feeling fresh. Ensemble obviously had to expand on the universe of Bungie's games to fill out a roster of recruitable unit types, although to be fair the game universe already has a lot of cool variety packed into it for an FPS, so their additions are mainly filling niches for vehicles. The Flood and Sentinels also have a few new faces (so to speak), despite not being full playable factions, including various Flood "structures" to blast away at in the campaign. The additions feel faithful and well implemented, even if we never see most of them again after this.
As a console RTS, there are some shortcuts to make the usually complex control scheme suitable for a controller (I used the gamepad controls on Steam Deck and it worked quite well). The d-pad jumps between alerts, bases, and unit groups, menus are radial, population caps are small, unit selection draws a circle from your cursor (control groups don't exist if you're not on keyboard, so the "blob" strategy is the order of the day, which it must be said isn't always suitable for all scenarios). Base construction is streamlined and modular, similar to Command & Conquer, although it must be done on designated locations. You can zip around the map pretty well but I still struggled with balancing micro and macro management, which was disastrous for high-pressure scenarios like the early "civilian escape ships" level. Apart from these I had a breezy enough time on Normal difficulty, without feeling too overpowered.
I couldn't help but see close similarities to Starcraft's Terran/Protoss/Zerg trinity in the UNSC/Covenant/Flood, especially when placed in an RTS context (not to mention the story role of the Xel'naga/Forerunners). This doesn't really matter but I wanted to point it out anyway. There's nothing new under the sun. So yeah, Halo Wars is cool, I liked the Spartan units who can't die and can uniquely hijack enemy vehicles, I liked that unit tech upgrades were all unique and felt impactful, giving new abilities rather than just boosting stats, I liked how playable this was without a mouse (it really is possible to do this well, surprisingly!), I liked how it told an authentic-feeling Halo story. It's just a shame that Ensemble had to become one in a long line of Microsoft-acquisition cautionary tales in the process.

Trusted outsource software development teams - SSTech System
Outsource software development is the practice of relinquishing software-related duties to outside singularities or organizations. Outsourcing is used by firms to acquire software services and products from outside firms that do not have direct employees or employees under contract to the business entity that is outsourcing.
Infect, the outsourcing market worldwide is projected to grow by 8.28% (2025-2029) resulting in a market volume of US$812.70bn in 2029. This model is highly versatile and suits businesses of all sizes.
Start-ups often use outsourcing to develop MVPs quickly, while established companies might seek custom software development services or AI outsourcing services to address complex challenges. Outsourcing can include working with offshore development teams, global software development partners, or local experts like Australian software development experts for specific projects.
The benefits of outsourcing software development
Outsourcing has become a cornerstone for modern businesses due to its numerous advantages. Hereâs a closer look at the key benefits:
1. Cost efficiency
Perhaps the biggest incentive for sourcing solutions from outsourcing service providers is the cost cutting factor. For instance, offshore software development in India provides expertise services at comparatively lower cost than that of in-house developed services in Western countries. This efficiency enable the enactments of cost savings in some other strategic sectors of the organization.
2. Access to global talent
Outsourcing can help to discover the wealth of new talents as well as the skills of professionals from other countries. No matter Whether itâs AI and machine learning integration, web application development in Australia, or outsourced healthcare software development, businesses can find experts in virtually any domain.
3. Scalability and flexibility
Outsourcing offers flexibility that is unparalleled in many organizations today. This is because; firms are able to expand and contract particular teams depending on the specific demand in projects. For example, outsourced IT solutions help business organizations prepare for different conditions while not having to employ permanent workers.
4. Faster time-to-market
With reliable software development teams in Australia or offshore development teams in India, businesses can speed up their project timelines. This helps innovations to make it through to the market early enough, which is useful for companies.
5. Focus on core activities
By delegating tasks like software maintenance and support or cloud software development in Australia to outsourcing partners, businesses can focus on their core competencies and strategic goals.
6. Reduced risk
In-house staff and trained outsourcing partners come with best practices, methods and procedures which when implemented reduce the chances of project hitch. Working with the top-rated IT outsourcing companies in Australia gives you confidence that your project is in safe hands.
Choosing the right outsourced software development partner
In the period from 2023 to 2027, the revenue of software outsourcing is forecasted to thrive at a CAGR of 7.54%. So, outsourcing partner selection is one of the most vital components since it determines the success of a given venture. Here are essential factors to consider:
1. Technical expertise
Check the partnerâs competency and his knowledge of the field. For instance, SSTech System Outsourcing offers comprehensive solutions, from AI development services in India to mobile app development outsourcing in Australia.
2. Proven track record
Look for partners with a strong portfolio and positive client testimonials. A proven track record in delivering custom software development services or managing outsourcing software development contracts is a good indicator of reliability.
3. Effective communication
Effective and open communication is extremely important if the project is to be successful. Work with people who give frequent reports and employ efficient media to overcome the differences in time areas.
4. Cultural compatibility
There has to be a cultural match or at least appreciation for each otherâs customs for there to be harmony in the working relationship. As such, staffed with proficient Australia software development experts or offshore development teams, whose experience is to work on global markets can coordinate and blend well with your work culture.
5. Security and compliance
You have to make sure that your partner complies with the standards and the policies that are in the industry. This is especially substantial for all information-sensitive projects such as outsourced healthcare software development or cloud software development in Australia.
6. Scalable infrastructure
Choose a partner capable of scaling their resources and infrastructure to meet your projectâs evolving needs. This is crucial for long-term collaborations, especially with global software development partners.
AI-powered tools for outsourced development teams
According to a report from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, software development ranks among the most sought-after professions. Hence, AI is at the forefront of reshaping the outsourcing industry. Therefore, the implementation of artificial intelligence will add value to business processes, make workflow easier, and boost the results of projects. Here are some examples:
1. Automated code reviews
Tools like DeepCode and SonarQube assist outsourced teams in detecting whether errors reside in the code line or not, and whether code needs to be enriched or not. This is particularly accurate concerning AI outsourcing and in-house development industries.
2. Predictive analytics
Automated analytics tools can predict such things as the time it will take to complete the project, how much money it will cost, and what risks are possible in a software development outsourcing scenario.
3. Smart project management
Tools and platforms such as Jira and Monday.com, when empowered with AI, allow the coordination of tasks and the tracking of progress and resource allocation.
4. AI collaboration tools
Communication and collaboration with internal members and offshore software development Australia partners get facilitated through applications that include, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and zoom with integrated AI functions.
5. Natural Language Processing (NLP)
AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants simplify communication and issue resolution, making them valuable for managing outsourced IT solutions.

Outsourced teams should be mandated and coordinated following a number of recommendations to ensure the efficiency of the entirety of the outsourcing process.
Here are the best practices to ensure your projectâs success:
1. Set clear objectives
Make it clear to your project team, stakeholders, and other relevant parties what the parameters of the project are, what it is that you expect out of it, and what you expect to get from it in return. This fostaines consistency between your team and the outsourcing partner to increase efficiency in service delivery.
2. Choose the right tools
Use project tracking and collaboration software approaches to track and evaluate progress and meet regular informality and collaboration targets.
3. Foster a collaborative environment
It is worthy of note that constant communication is key to ensuring that your outsourcing team is on the same page with you. Fresh produce and feedback mechanisms need to be provided in order for there to be trust as is needed in project management.
4. Draft comprehensive contracts
There should be a comprehensive outsourcing software development contract. It should address issues to do with confidentiality, ownership of ideas and concepts, plea structure and mode of handling disputes.
5. Focus on long-term relationships
Building a long-term partnership with trusted providers like SSTech System Solutions can lead to consistent quality and better project outcomes.
Conclusion
