Most sci-fi portrayals of sentient AI involve machines looking on humans as either Wise Teachers or Disgusting Parasites

I feel like Murderbot offers one of the only realistic predictions: That sentient AI would react to us humans with the same loving aggravation that we feel when our parents misuse memes or believe something from Fox News

I want to see more fiction explore this extremely plausible dynamic

#when you make a creature that's like you but better equipped to understand the modern world #and it starts to think independently #it does occasionally result in worship and/or homicide #but eye-rolling is statistically much more common #there is an Asimov story like this where a robot tried to take over the human race for our own good #which has very 'putting Nana in a nursing home' vibes #I think a real AI smart enough to think like that would also be smart enough to bury the takeover in user agreements #instead of staging any kind of coup #JARVIS is almost like this but a little too subservient under the sarcasm

I think it's funny when robots in fiction are just,,, super old and they outlive multiple generations of humans and are kinda treated as functionally immortal but irl tech is like "Your car is 20 years old???" or "I get a new smart phone every two years!"

Lemme see old ass bots who are mocked for being all ancient and outmoded and then when someone asks "How old are you??" it turns out they're like five.

I’m so sorry to break it to you but the only reason why some of you hate ai so much is because you deify yourselves for making art as if it’s anything more than a hobby. Art makes life worth living and therefore you think you’re inherently more special for the act of making it. Anyone can make art given time, resources, and enough tries, and that includes robots. It’s an issue of ego for you—you could not give less of a fuck about any potential impact on the environment or the fact that it’s just a flimsy excuse to employ fewer people so profits can rise without the burden of having to pay out livable wages it is literally just you being upset that given enough tries anyone can make a pretty picture or write a fun story
