ngl i feel like a main reason kab feels the need to separate herself from her character so much these days is that some of y’all are really fucking mean about her character

like she’s trying to play a complicated character who often behaves selfishly and irrationally and a lot of people act as though kab herself is selfish and irrational and manipulative.

because ls!kab isn’t obviously evil or an over the top villain, and at least in character she thinks she in the right, people see that as her defending the actions of her character, and so she feels the need to create a degree of separation between ls!kaboodle and herself

tbh i feel like letting ccs play characters that behave in ways they personally wouldn’t in real life leads to a more interesting story.

i also have more to say about the way some of y’all treat the newer lifestealers and also women in the mcyt sphere as a whole but that’s a whole other can of worms

whateverrr. i’m normal about ashe’s name being ashe. i’m normal about ashe’s sacrifice and the idea of her soul being metaphorically reduced to ash in the s1 finale. i’m normallll about dakota’s names being those of places, because dakota’s character arc hinges so greatly on the theme of home. i’m soooo normallll about the name william rooting from the words will/wish. i’m soooo ososososo normal about vyncent’s name being homophonic with the name of vincent van gogh, who’s brilliance wasn’t discovered until post-mortem, and how vyncent had to witness the death of the heroic image/faith he had of his father and the death of all he knew and the life blossoming from him realizing his home was on prime. i’m normallll

sorry for a bit of a ramble im feeling silly but like joel this season is so so different in terms of like . he didnt become red early on AND he had gem by his side, whos got a sort of chill presence shes like if "im a chill guy" was personified if that makes sense which made joels usual kind of erratic nervousness kind of balanced out (?) Which yeah ppl have mentioned that but ALSO hes just not making enemies out of everyone ?? like ppl are going after him instead of the other way around + he even goes out of his way and just gives diamonds to like lizzie and jimmy, creeper eggs to tango, helping grian from the vexes too, going along with etho etc etc

and like i think his attachment to his allies is so so important like in every series he cares so much and it comes off as aggressive and he takes a lot of risks but this season hes just kinda chillin tbh . chillin and carin. and winnin . (cue outro music)

honestly not much to add like. idk his allies are usually unstable or just straight up nonexistent and i think having gem as an ally might be The Best Thing To Ever Happen To Him......... his last true allies imo were limlife (i love the mounders but he quite literally lived over a hill away + the entire alliance was based on a very "trust nobody" attitude. think them all running from each other the moment secrets were given while other teams would stick together) and look i LOVE the bad boys but. theyre so chaotic. and like u said gems very chill in her own way. having kind loyal trusting allies made him more kind loyal and trusting as a result

Reminder that Sylus was released with:

6 4 stars & 6 3 stars, while the OG3 had 18 of each

1 bond, while the OG3 had 2

1 anecdote, while the OG3 had 3

1 free companion, while the OG3 had 3

No photobooth background. He only just got it after 6 months

No full stellactrum, as opposed to the OG3. For the longest time, Sylus was missing yellow and red— now he has 2 yellow and 1 red. Of those, 1 yellow was a promise card, thus locked behind a paywall and now no longer available.

In total, as of right now, Sylus has 34 cards, meaning that he still, after half a year, has less cards than the OG3 had upon release (41). Bear in mind that a number of these 34 cards were limited and thus no longer obtainable, while another portion of them are only obtainable through the Silver/Radiant Galaxy. So for new & F2p players, unless they are very lucky, they'll have to make due with the 17 standard cards available. Which makes real progress impossible. Sylus is not only P2W but basically P2P. If you missed out on his limited 5 stars and especially his second myth? You're fucked. B/c he still doesn't have his green 4 star solar pair.

The discrepancy in number of memories compared to the other LIs also means that the likelihood of pulling Sylus cards is drastically lower than the others — ~11-12% VS ~30% according to calculations made by a number of different players both on the CN and global side.

Presumably because of his puny amount of cards, Sylus' orbits are locked at level 80. That means that he has 70 less floors than the OG3. This, paired with his low number of cards, means that raising affinity becomes extremely difficult after a certain point, especially if you can't afford to spend a lot of money.

In addition, Sylus girlies need to spend twice the amount of stamina as other girlies in order to level up cards. Why? Because, in contrast to the OG3, he does not have a Bounty Boss dedicated to his prime Stellas (in his case Pink and Green). This means that we have to fight both Snoozer and Lemonette if we want to level up the majority of his cards.

Sylus girlies have been reaching out to customer service for months about these issues, and have either been given nothingburger replies or been totally ignored. There have been exactly 0 meaningful communication on Paperfold's side. No one is asking them to give us what we're missing tomorrow, but we are asking for some confirmation that our valid concerns are being heard and that the issue will be rectified. But so far... nothing. All that the CN girlies have received as of yet are attempted gaslighting and subtle threats. Is this how you treat any — much less your objectively highest paying — consumers?

I hope everyone can see how blatantly unfair all of this is, and understand why such a large number of us are angry and upset. We have been called greedy and ungrateful, but tell me, how is asking for fairness, for the bare minimum, greedy or ungrateful? We have never asked for special treatment, only equal treatment. The argument that all of this discrepancy in basic content is due to Sylus being "new" has never been and will never be valid.

To end this post on a somewhat hopeful note, the current boycott by the CN Sylus girlies have resulted in a significant drop in daily revenue. One can only hope that this will finally make Paperfold listen and rectify this mess, or at least communicate with their consumers,

Let me remind you that while this issue currently only affects Sylus mains, it will eventually come to affect all of us. B/c if they can get away with this behaviour with one character, then I guarantee you that the other LIs will be next. In fact, from the look of things, Caleb will receive the same treatment.

If you as a global player wish to help do something about all of this, I'd highly recommend writing an email to the company (loveanddeepspace-en@infoldgames.com). Additionally, there is talk of organizing a petition in support of the CN girlies, the link to which I will post on my blog, should it become a reality. While it might be true that global players unfortunately hold little sway, doing something is still better than doing nothing.

Alan redesign!!!!!

I still remember creating his old design and posting it way back when I started here… how time flies…

My thought process under the cut

I’ve always struggled with his design but this time I really cooked!!! He’s been a bit of a nothingburger for a while and getting his concept going was a bit challenging. The last design started some interesting ideas but didn’t really deliver well, but with this one I managed to pull it all together!!!

Since he's supposed to represent the struggles of the working class (poverty, unemployment, etc), I wanted to lean into punk aesthetics to represent his ideals and values. I added patches to his pants cuz he mends clothes to make them last longer and save money (diy culture in punk spaces)

The spiky hair is also not only another aspect of punk, but also a representation of his “spiky“ outward presentation to push people away and keep himself safe. I also shaped the spikes to resemble dog ears because of the dog-like motifs of his character. He kinda looks like a werewolf now which is fitting because of him receiving visions of the future every full moon due to his powers. I adjusted the symbol on his back to represent that better too!

I’m really proud of my art improvement too!! I learned so much about anatomy and portraying objects in 3d space and I think it shows!! His face structure makes more sense and I have a better understanding of his eye shape now (his ass actually looks wasian now)
