my brain has decided for absolutely no start thinking about other languages that the pitt characters speak, so here are my random headcanons with little to no explanation:
- we all know Princess is a polyglot, and she regularly curses out the doctors in every one of her six languages and gossips with Perlah, Esme, or other staff
- Abbot speaks Arabic and/or Farsi fluently, and he's got enough Spanish to get by working in the ED
- Robby took time to learn medical phrases in common languages like Spanish, Arabic, and Chinese but doesn't actually speak any of them (edit: got reminded that Robby also speaks some Hebrew/Yiddish - he's not completely fluent, but remembers a lot from childhood!!)
- Langdon speaks fluent Spanish, something that often comes as a surprise to all his coworkers, especially new med students
- Santos speaks Tagalog and Spanish, both fluently, and she has been added to the gossip circle with Princess and Perlah
- Whitaker grew up in rural Nebraska so he only speaks English but he starts picking up random phrases (read: swear words) from Santos in Spanish and Tagalog, which Perlah and Princess find absolutely hilarious because his pronunciation SUCKS
- Collins and McKay do not speak a second language, but that doesn't stop either of them from being one of the first people who make connections with a non-English-speaking patient anyway, so whoever does speak the language they really only need to act as an interpreter
- Mohan used to be fluent in Hindi since her parents immigrated from India, but she lost most of it as she grew up so now she only knows basic phrases and such
- Javadi very easily COULD learn any language she wants but she was under too much pressure during school with everything that came with being a genius/prodigy, so she never actually took the time to learn a second language despite her mother always on her case to do so
- Dana and Mel are both similar to Robby where they know some phrases and can usually get by pretty well, but haven't ever actually learned a second language. for both of them, most of what they know has just been picked up over time or out of necessity, though Mel is also pretty good with basic ASL!!

📁 PROFILE OVERVIEW
Dr. Spencer Reid’s entrance into the BAU was unorthodox — recruited not for his field experience, but for his mind. At 24, he’s the second youngest active Supervisory Special Agent in Behavioral Analysis Unit history. He doesn’t command rooms. He watches them, quietly and thoroughly.
Academically unmatched and socially disoriented, Reid walks the line between genius and vulnerability. His memory is flawless; his instincts, fast but human. He rarely speaks emotionally — but when he does, it lingers.
Most agents lean on experience. Reid leans on patterns, empathy, and a mind that rarely sleeps. He doesn’t say much about what keeps him awake. He just keeps showing up.
Tumblr media
⚠️ INTERNAL FLAGGING
— Prone to over-identification with victims, particularly younger or intellectually gifted individuals
— History of isolation and insomnia
— Firearms aversion noted during initial training, mitigated by current tactical competency
— Avoids confrontation unless morally compelled; known to internalize emotional weight post-case
— Internal note: “Underestimated often. Not a weakness — a mirror.”

🔒 CLASSIFIED COMMENTARY
“His empathy doesn’t come from sympathy. It comes from seeing the worst and still choosing to understand.” — SSA A. Hotchner
“Spencer sees the patterns before we do. In data. In people. In silence." — SSA D. Morgan
“He doesn’t ask for your truth. But he’ll know if you’re lying. And for some reason, that makes you want to tell him everything.” — SSA M. Hirose (confidential, unsigned)

Sonic + Friends Language Headcanon Post!
(Written from the perspective of an American English speaker! If you have a different native language, substitute "English" and "ASL" with your native ones.)
Sonic is, of course, the polyglot of the group. He's always had an interest in connecting with people across language barriers. He used to do it nonverbally, but now that words are easier for him he likes to learn enough to say hello! He knows how to order food, read signs, and generally ask if a person is doing okay. I headcanon that he's damn near fluent in Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and ASL; conversable at Japanese; and serviceable at about a dozen other languages, including Chinese, Arabic, Swahili, Hindi, Finnish, etc. His secret is regular practice with native speakers as he globetrots and a willingness to make mistakes. He's kinda got the Youtuber Polyglot thing going on, except he's not doing it for clout.
Tails knows six programming languages! Does that count? Other verbal languages besides his native English don't really stick with him. He knows a handful of phrases in various languages due to sheer proximity with Sonic. He also understands a lot of ASL, but can't sign himself all that well.
Amy also struggles to remember new languages, but she does put a lot of effort into learning them! She's a pro at learning the basics and important phrases of languages associated with the places she travels. Basically, she's your second pick (next to Sonic) if you're going on vacation and need someone to help translate basic stuff! She's a huge fan of duolingo, lol.
Knuckles knows Echidnean and English! Learning English kinda sucked, but he powered through. He reads, and especially writes, much easier in his native Echidnean. That doesn't stop him from making meticulous notes in English about his home culture so that it gets preserved. He has mixed feelings about wanting to teach anyone else how to speak Echidnean- even though Sonic has already volunteered to learn.
Rouge is native in English, conversational in Spanish from her mom's side, and knows a smattering of French because she took it in middle school when she thought she was going to be a high fashion model when she grew up. She'll learn other bits and pieces of languages as the mission requires. She's a fairly fast learner- a shame she doesn't have a lot of interest in it.
Shadow doesn't know any languages other than English. He knows that Gerald sometimes swore in some sort of Slavic language, but he can't remember which one it was, and frankly he's not interested in learning. Meanwhile, Rouge is currently trying to teach him bits of Spanish but it's not going super well. Amy tried to introduce him to duolingo but that also isn't going well given his struggles with modern technology.
Omega has 20 of the world's most common languages built into his translation software, and speaks them with all the grace and dignity of google translate. He either sounds insanely highbrow or like he's speaking complete gibberish. He can't be bothered to really "learn" any of them. It drives Sonic insane.
Vector is a native English speaker, but he did grow up adjacent to a lot of Louisiana Creole. He took a few years of French in high school and more of it stuck than he thought it would.
Espio is native in Japanese and almost fluent in English. He's also a fan of Conlangs- I think he'd like Toki Pona.
Charmy knows English and that's it. He is six years old, please give him a break.
Cream knows English. She is also six years old. However, she has expressed interest in picking up some words from Sonic in whatever language he feels like at the time- right now she's working on the ASL alphabet.
Vanilla knows English and a smattering of Czech from her mother's side. She finds it difficult to want to teach Cream any though. However, she's delighted by Sonic wanting to teach Cream ASL, and is currently working on the ASL alphabet with her.
Blaze is also a polyglot! She speaks five languages fluently- four from her home dimension, and English. She's conversational in a lot of other languages from her own dimension, and right now she's currently bugging anyone that will spend the time to teach her some Spanish. Sonic might know more languages total, but she prefers depth instead of breadth.
Silver knows English and smatterings of a dead language- Italian!
Robotnik is native in English, fluent in Polish from his grandfather's side, and two of his (how many?) doctorates are in Spanish and Japanese respectively. However, he's also prone to learning whatever new language Sonic uses to insult him. He can't stand not knowing what sort of shit Sonic is talking about him.

Hello! ¡Hola! привет! 안녕하세요!
I go by Static or Métamorphe (they/them), I’m 22 years old, and this is the little langblr I started as an aspiring polyglot.
For right now this is just a WIP introduction post, but I am studying more right now so I found it fitting to make one that goes over the languages I’m learning!
My native language is English and I’ve been learning Canadian French as a second language casually for about 10 years (and yet I’m still at about A2!!) - it's become the hardest language for me because my education was so bad, so I've decided to pick up some others instead.
My target languages (including, but not limited to):
American Sign Language (ASL)
Mexican Spanish
Russian
Korean
I want to get more familiar with ASL specifically. Hopefully someday son I can say that I’m above A2/Level 1 in some of these languages!!
Some other languages I’m not currently focused on, but am extremely interested in learning are:
Arabic
Hindi or Punjabi
Mandarin Chinese
Irish (Gaielge)
Welsh (Cymraeg)
My big interests right now include languages (especially conlangs and slang/cants like Polari and Toki Pona!!), science (especially life sciences!), philosophy, and video games.
I think that’s all for now… stick around for more I guess!
(btw this is a side blog so I will be following from a different account)

I recently found out that American schools taught languages at the same rate at European schools up until 1917, when it entered WW1. That was a time of ultra-nationalism for all participant countries, and in the United States that took the form of 23 states making German illegal: it was forbidden to speak German in public, broadcast in German on the radio, or teach German to a child under the age of 10. That might not seem significant to modern Americans, but in those days German was the second most spoken language in the USA, something like Spanish today.
In 1923 the states that banned German repealed those laws, but by then the damage was done. Americans expected to only speak English, expected immigrants to only speak English, and saw no reason for schools to require kids to learn a new language. It also so happened that WWI was the beginning of the end for the use of German as an international language in science (and probably some other things but I'm apparently a STEM chauvinist).
It didn't have to be this way. What if American schools continued to teach languages at the same rate as European schools? All countries in the EU require students to learn at least one additional language in school, with many requiring two languages, and some more multilingual EU countries (like Andorra) require students to learn three additional languages in school. Because lots of languages are spoken in the United States, I imagine that if American schools still taught languages at the same rates as European schools, it might be more like one of Andorra. For example, perhaps all English-medium American schools would have mandatory Spanish classes for all K-12 students, add mandatory ASL classes in fourth grade, and then students would add an additional language in seventh grade, let's say choice of Hindi, Arabic, Russian, or Korean. This does cause issues because there's only so much time in the school day and kids also need to learn mathematics, science, history, art, coding (yes, coding is an essential skill today, but that's another topic). There's also the issue that even in the EU, school language classes can be "learn and forget". Still, it sure is nice to imagine what if Americans weren't notoriously monolingual and ignorant.
By the way, I assume WWI is also the reason why Britons are notoriously monolingual, too. They were rabidly nationalistic during WWI and rejected anything to do with "the enemy". I read that during WWI one British school was asked to justify why they still taught German and they justified it as "know the enemy".

biography
tws: parental death, grief, mental health
Cyrus Amani was born on May 1st, 1985 to a young Iranian couple who only wanted the best for their son. When he was 3, they relocated to Toronto, Canada, for Cyrus (and later, his two younger siblings) to have better opportunities. His father worked part-time as a volunteer firefighter, which inspired Cyrus’ interest in helping people. Of course, being a firefighter seemed overwhelming, but the idea of working in the medical field piqued his curiosity. While he had many hobbies growing up, medical work had always been his top interest. He would spend hours researching the field and all the different career paths on end, and his family was incredibly encouraging whenever he brought the topic up. After high school, Cyrus attended university in Toronto, though he was less fortunate when it came to applying for medical school. He decided to attend school in America after some thinking, and after several acceptances, he narrowed down his list of possible states before deciding on Chicago. He completed his five-year general residency program in the city and began his three-year Cardiothoracic program there as well. Halfway through his second year in the program, he received a phone call that nearly changed the course of his life. His father had been critically injured due to an accidental fall, and things weren’t looking so good. Cyrus rushed home to Toronto to say goodbye and was especially devastated due to his father being his top role model in life. From there, his mental health plummeted immensely, with official diagnoses of prolonged grief disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and depression. He stayed with his mother and siblings in Canada for a little while before returning to Chicago—his only reason for the return was that his mother persuaded him to pursue his dreams. He agreed to head back and settled into a small apartment. After several months of training, he officially became licensed in 2019 and started work almost immediately. In 2022, he adopted a golden retriever puppy named Charlie to help take his mind off of his stress (and to have company). He later trained Charlie to become his psychiatric service dog when she was old enough. After a while, he realized the big city life just wasn’t for him any longer. In late 2023, he packed up his things (and Charlie) and moved about an hour and a half away to Blue Harbor in hopes of simultaneously managing his grief and starting anew.

ASL (American Sign Language), Spanish, Mandarin, Welsh, Scottish Gaelic
i'm hoping to be at least conversational in ASL, Spanish, and Scottish Gaelic or Welsh by when I am 30 (I turn 25 in two days when I'm posting this, so I have 5 years). ASL and Spanish are my top priorities.
I do know some Spanish already, it's probably the most I know of another language. I know a very small amounts of ASL like "please", "thank you", "deaf", "yes/no", "food", "drink", "inhaler", "more", "day", "bitch", the alphabet, the numbers 1-9, and a few more. I had Mandarin in elementary school (went to a gifted school that was an international baccalaureate, you can see my autistic/adhd/ocd ass in just that). I remember how to count to 1000, "hello", "what is your name", "my name is", "water", "fire", "goodbye", "thank you", "how are you", "i'm okay/fine", "happy new year", and how to say several animals. I definitely learned more but i don't remember anymore.
I wish the US taught second languages at younger ages like elementary school instead of waiting til high school as it doesn't stick as much in your brain. Curriculums around the world teach a second language in elementary/primary school, but a majority of public schools in the US do not teach foreign languages until junior high (7th/8th grade you are 12-14 years old then) or high school. Your learning processing/brain isn't as malleable to learn and remember a second language at that age as it is when you are younger. We have conducted several studies of this IN OUR COUNTRY and other countries use that research to create their curriculum for their schools, but we don't.
Okay I yapped and rambled wayyyyy more than I intended. I was an education major and I am currently a substitute teacher so I have MANY words and peeves about basically everything in our department of education and school boards on *many* things. Anywho last thing is if I could pick a 6th, 7th, and 8th languages to learn it would be German, Arabic and Japanese or Korean (I havent decided between the two yet). Alright i hope you enjoyed my ramble.
If you could instantly be granted fluency in 5 languages—not taking away your existing language proficiency in any way, solely a gain—what 5 would you choose?

Intro?
Hiii, i'm (Shark/Tibu/[jan/soweli/waso] Seki), i've had this idea for a hot second ((Inspired by language-madness i think they're called?)). I loveee languages & linguistics and all that, but my main blog (Sharkthe-cat) is mainly fandom content. So this is specifically dedicated to language-learning.
What might you find here? I don't really know! But here are some guesses:
Notes that might help put two and two together for a language you're learning.
Notes that i can actually read ((my language-learning book is very unorganized)).
Resources i find helpful, particularly for endangered languages like Haida.
Notes + learning methods from my classes.
Reblogs of language-related things.
Maybe some posts regarding understanding colloquial English or something?
Languages (not all of these are languages. in alphabetic order):
[Levantine] Arabic (heritage, focus), ASL, English (native), French, Biblical Greek, [Skidegate] Haida, Halkomelem, Biblical Hebrew, Inuktitut, Irish (heritage), Italian, Korean, Mandarin, Polari, Polish, Spanish, Tagalog, Toki Pona, Vietnamese

Some random language-related doodles. 1: Idrisah's Tiiliitian handwriting vs Sirawit's. Sirawit picked up hearts from human culture, they dot their Latin alphabet "i"s with hearts sometimes too. 2: I drew this after learning that colloquial Hindi and Urdu are essentially the same language (Hindustani) though they tend to be written in Devanagari and Arabic scripts respectively. Shyam is fluent in Hindi; Idrisah knows some Urdu from her dad's side of the family, but is better at listening comprehension than speaking it. Talita took Portuguese in high school and has forgotten most of it. Her biggest second language skill by the time she meets Shyam is ASL, thanks to Gillie.

This is what my Jason is going to be. He's Wixan during the summers and has been soaking up Hogwarts British slang and hanging with the Weasley kids and is just a mess of British Gothamite accent and Tom is disgusted. Tim wants to learn too but Tom drags him off like 'fuck no Timtam you going to learn proper English or not at all' and Harry, the shit is like 'aren't you from South London and grew up (in your second life) in Gotham?' and Tom's like 'fuck off mum' and has to deal with the lecture he gets from Alfred, Harry cackling and Dick thinking that he thought Tom has a pretty cute accent. Bruce is not getting involved because he knew he married a chaos gremlin that keeps adding more gremlins to the hoard.
(Also this family is a whole fucking mess when Cass arrives because Jason learns Chinese sign language, Alfred and Bruce know BSL and Harry learns that, Dick somehow learns and taught Tom Romani Sign Language (idk if that is even a thing but if AO3 has an ASL option in languages then 🤷), Damian is mostly fluent in Arabic sign language while Tim is the one to teaches her ASL because this whole family is nothing but idiots)
I love to headcanon my ficts okay?
I have a headcannon that at some point in his early robin days, Jason decided he wanted to be like Alfred and committed to drinking tea, using British slang and the accent while being robin.
This obviously confused the rogues a lot.
Fighting Mr. Freeze:
Jason: aye, what in the bloody hell do you think your doin? (Horrible British and gotham accent mix)
Freeze: I am- wait. Robin? Are you ok?
Bats: it's a phase. Just ignore it.
Freeze: keep forgetting he's a kid... anyways-

hc that all the ninja are multilingual.
at first, most of them just had a second (or third) language that they grew up with. But as they started saving more and more people, they all started learning more languages too better communicate with the people they save.
This can lead to some funny circumstances of them forgetting words in English or their native language. Sometimes, they don't realize they're speaking a different language.
Under the cut are my personal headcannons of what languages they're able to speak and understand.
They all know ASL and English.
Kai and Nya's native language is Spanish
Kai is fluent in Portuguese. He can get by in Filipino and Thai. He knows bits and pieces of Hindi and Mandarin.
Nya is fluent in Thai and German. She can get by in French, Latin, and Mandarin. She knows bits and pieces of Italian and Portuguesse.
Zane's native language is Russian.
After Zane was rebuilt, he was able to speak and understand every language.
Cole's native language is Tagalog and Hindi.
Cole is fluent in Spanish and Arabic. He can get by in Korean and German. He knows bits and pieces of Polish and Greek.
Jay's native language is French.
Jay is fluent in Italian, Vietnamese, and Japanese. He can get by in Polish and Hindi. He knows bits and pieces of German and Arabic.
Jay only learnt Italian due to it being Cliff Gordon's native language. It worked out when he found out he was Gordon's son.
Pixal was programmed to speak and understand every language.
Lloyd grew up speaking bits of Mandarin and Japanese- growing up at Darkley's exposed him to multiple languages, so he's able to get by in a few but he doesn't necessarily remember the names of them.
Lloyd is fluent in Mandarin, Japanese, and Thai. He can get by in Vietnamese and Spanish. He also knows bits and pieces of Hindi and French.
Lloyd can also understand Oni and Dragon. In some cases he's able to speak both. He doesn't realize when he's doing it.

In other news...
I started working on the second season's bracket, and made its first chart. Its a *lot* less english dominated than the first season, which is interesting. There's also quite a bit of Hungarian, which didn't have any words in the first tournament!
Tumblr media
For reference here's the first pie chart:
Tumblr media
Overall we have: English - 47.3% (121 words) German - 7.0% (18 words) Polish - 5.5% (14 words) French - 3.5% (9 words) Mandarin - 3.1% (8 words) Hebrew - 2.7% (7 words) Italian - 2.3% (6 words) Hungarian - 2% (5 words) Latin - 2% (5 words) toki pona - 2% (5 words) Dutch - 1.6% (4 words) Faliscan - 1.6% (4 words) Japanese - 1.6% (4 words) Russian - 1.6% (4 words) Finnish - 1.2% (3 words) Greek - 1.2% (3 words) Spanish - 1.2% (3 words) Vietnamese - 1.2% (3 words) Catalan - 0.8% (2 words) Indonesian - 0.8% (2 words) Irish - 0.8% (2 words) Malay - 0.8% (2 words) Māori - 0.8% (2 words) Norwegian - 0.8% (2 words)
Arabic, ASL, Belarusian, C, Cantonese, Czech, Danish, Galician, Inuiktitut, kay(f)bop(t), Korean, Low German, Luganda, Luxembourgish, Portuguese, Sanskrit, Welsh, and Western Frisian - 0.4% each (1 word each)
That's 42 different languages! Thanks for submitting your words!

languages i have wanted and still want to learn:
spanish: would be the most used language for me most likely
asl: also very useful. but no writing system
arabic: entirely unsure why but i have wanted to learn arabic for years. the writing system is so pretty to look at
mandarin chinese: second most spoken language, how could i Not want to learn it? also, entirely different writing system to english which is fun
literally any of the languages my family would have spoken (potentially german, polish, french, spanish, literally who fucking knows): in a 'itd be cool to know the languages i came from' but i genuinely have no culture or ties to any specific place or language so
swedish: one (1) of my .cousins? second cousins? however were related .speaks swedish natively
literally any language ive ever heard of ever: i want to Know Them i am so jealous of people who can make decisions and actually stick to them
i am once again feeling the urge to learn a language but like,,,,what if i actually did this time

Forewarning: this reeks of 2012 avengers fan fiction but just roll with it alright
Also it’s not a coherent thought but that’s besides the point
So you remember 5+1? Yep your right here’s another one
5 times Tony surprised the avengers with languages, and one time …
1. Tony can speak Russian.
2. Tony knows ASL
3. Tony speaks Dora
4. Tony knows Arabic (idk some kidnapping language
5. Tony speaks Italian (idek)
+1. I have no idea please repost and help me figure out
1. Tony walks into kitchen ethier early in morning or late at night. Nat is also there. Nat is venting in Russian. Include self doubt or background reference. Maybe both. Tony walks in purposely making his footsteps heavy so he doesn't get a knife to the skull, and responds in Russian. Nat is obviously surprised and they talk. Or not. They could just watch a movie and never speak of it again idk.
2. Clint tries to hide the fact he's deaf so they don't see him differently. Yes, Nat knows. She always knows. Clint had it taken out of his shield file a long time ago. He can lip-read and has basically invisible hearing aids. An emp takes out Clint's hearing aids during some small fight or something. Clint doesn't have a spare and has to last through briefing and life at the tower until they can give him a new pair in the morning. He just wants a bagel in silence and runs into the team in the kitchen cuz Tony never sleeps, Steve, Nat, and Bruce get up at the buttcrack of dawn, and Thor just likes poptarts. But anyways the team finds out, Clint's tired and can't lipread 6 people at once. And Tony kinda emerges from the shadows like finally I have some hearing aid designs I want you to try out… but in ASL. Nat also knows ASL. Cuz why the freak not. And Clint's kinda like, what? how did you know, and how do you know ASL?? (In ASL btw, just to confuse Steve) and Tony kinda shrugs it off and says he hacked shield remember (but Clint knows better. He knows he's just as observant as him and was probably just waiting for Clint to willingly tell the team (yes he's made 7 prototypes already)) and Clint kinda drops that one in favor of asking where he knew ASL from. Tony says the original Jarvis taught him some, and learned everything after hiring a deaf employee. Or maybe he learned it after he found out about Clint. Nat respects him for respecting Clint. She talks to Fury about changing her recommendation.
3 ok so basically after Afghanistan Tony learned as many languages as he could, especially the less common ones typically used but potential kidnappers. So he learns Dora (similar to the wakandan language) uhhh idk team goes to wakanda for some reason, maybe Bucky, Bucky's a good option. anywaysss. idk someone talks in wakandan, maybe like the guards or other people walking around, maybe okoye to techalla or shuri. He ends up in shuris lab cuz they're science nerds do you expect otherwise. And shuri kinda just says ethier smarter than he looks or another white boy for me to fix. If it's the latter Tony can respond with and a nerdy teenager in need of a father figure for me to adopt. Or something like that whie in wakandan and he gets a shocked look and a smile before shuri says “a competent white boy for me to fix”
4. Team gets kidnapped. Kidnappers speak some wierd language not even natasha knows, and clint dosnt even know how to ask “can i pet your dog” in said language, and the kidnappers think no one knows what theyre saying because everyone just looks confused as all get out, or drugged out of their minds ie. bruce and thor, and once they spill a location or the evil plan or somthing tony can use he responds in this random language no one knows, the kidnapperslook shocked, and a few seconds later a suit breaks in with shield on its tail rescuing them. Yeah i know not as funny but im tired okay
5. Yeah the rest idk what to do with
If u got ideas add em cuz I'm bored and don't know where to go😂
5. ??? I need help guys
If u got ideas add em cuz I'm bored and don't know where to go😂

The Delancey brothers and Race owe each other life-saving favors. (Race: I saved your half-sister one time and now you feel the need to try and save my life. Ya know what? How bout you just don’t beat up Crutchie instead, yeah?)
Race and Jojo were selling buddies once upon a time.
Race has a cop buddy by the name of Marco Hawkes (who is also Italian). Hawkes has decently high rankings at his police precinct so he usually keeps an ear out for Race so he doesn’t end up back in a Refuge like place.
(Going by Livesies canon) Race met Denton after the strike and now they hang out sometimes. Tea and biscuits, sniffing out the latest story, Denton helping Hawkes bail Race and Albert out of jail, etc.
Sort of a pyromaniac, he more likes watching things burn than actually starting fires.
Convinced Finch to use berries in his sling-shot once so when he shot someone the mushed berry would look like blood
Darcy's sister, Jean Templeton Reid (she’s a real person, I looked her up) has a crush on him
Race is pretty friendly and has a lot of non-newsies friends
-Modern Era:
Race knows lots of languages, fully he knows English (that’s a given), Italian (cause he’s Italian), Spanish and French (cause they're also neo-latin languages), German (IDK he just does), Mandarin (cause it’s the second most common language in the world), Russian (cause it weirds people out), and Arabic (Cause he’s Robin and wants to show off to the league of assassins)  Irish. He’s working on Polish because Elmer speaks it.
He also knows ASL.
Throws cards at people that are annoying him or that he just doesn’t like
Would watch movies in the splits just because he can do that.
Went trick-or-treating and then gave his candy out to all the homeless kids he could find
When the Newsies goes skating they’ll push Crutchie around in a chair and when Race pushes him they speed around the rink much to fast
Learned guitar
Has a little scar on his upper lip from where a stray cat scratched him.
-Could be in either or both:
Will participate in rooftop parkour and Davey is like “Stop! You’re gonna slip and fall and end up breaking your neck!”
Race is pro-capes, other newsies might be like “No capes!” or “Capes are stupid”, but Race won’t listen to them and loves capes especially if they have hoods.
If he hears a good insult he’ll steal it and save it for later.
Randomly pokes the other newsies in the stomach
His dad was in the mob/mafia.
Race is stupidly protective, he doesn’t show it often but he is.
-----
Well that's all I've got for Racetrack headcanons, before it dives into Race as Robin headcanons. These are mostly just Race. I didn't really wanna do any with relationship ties. I could but whatever.
