a playmaker au where anakin is an alpha and obi-wan is an omega probably follows the exact same beats, except when obi-wan volunteers/his father voluntells him this is his undercover mission, a bunch of the other cops are like what the fuck are you doing sending your omega son into a situation where you're asking him to basically seduce and maybe even mate a low-level mobster for the sake of bringing down anakin skywalker. and qui-gon is like. yeah. and so of course obi-wan is like yeah!! i'm willing to do this >:( i want to.

and he's still a waiter at the club anakin's mob frequents for a singular night that ends with him flat out on his back on anakin skywalker's couch (not in a sexy way)

anakin would probably on principle not honor refuse to actually bite and mate ben/obi-wan while he's pretending to be someone else - obi-wan is at first incredibly relieved about this because he doesn't want to have any sort of bond with the mob boss, but steadily it becomes something he obsesses over. why won't he bite me. why am i allowed to watch over his children and attend his meetings and sit in his lap and i even ripped a fellow officer's throat out with my teeth because of pure instinct but he still won't mate me. why am i not enough and what am i doing wrong, etc etc

culminating in obi-wan seducing maul to keep him quiet about obi-wan being a rat and offering up his own neck to entice him & then running when anakin catches him at it - in this version, obi-wan wouldn't make it back to his apartment after so thoroughly stepping all over anakin's instincts like that

fuck he wouldn't even make it down the stairs to the door leading to the restaurant. maul can be dealt with later. anakin has an omega to finally claim, if only to save him from his own stupidity
