TIME FOR RETIREMENT!

Quite a few of our horses has been retired from shows this month, staring with BOE Mexico Nightmare. This prima Oldenburg mare has been doing quite well in Show Jumping, and also fine in Dressage too. With 42 points in Show Jumping T-Shows. 43 points in Show Jumping, 48 points in Dressage and 65 points in Sportshorse in R-Shows - she has definitely earned her retirement!

The best children's pony in the world has also reached retirement age! BOE Sunny Day aka. Sunny has been the first pony for almost all of our children, and has taught them to ride and love horses. She has been competing in Pony (181 points), Pony Show Jumping (186 points) and Driving (190 points) with the kids, and has had a lot of fun!

With her she takes the titles of The Golden Pony, Nuage and Tandem Champion.

Opaline HF aka. Libby has also earned her retirement! With an overall of 383 points in R-Shows you can say she has done really good. She has competed in Sportshorse (146 points), Show Jumping (142 points) and Dressage (95 points), giving a total of 8 bonus points off to her offsprings!

She has done a lot of good in her time as a show horse (with titles of Supreme Champion, Volant and L'Étoile), and will hopefully enjoy her retirement. Thank you for selling her to us Ian Salvatore!

RRS Caspian has been a personal favorite of mine for sooo long! He has done a lot of good with an overall score of 451 points across disciplines such as Sportshorse (132 points), Show Jumping (172 points) and Dressage (147 points). He has earned the titles of Supreme Champion, Nuage and Danzatore through his career as a show horse.

BOE Rolly Joger aka. Sandokan has been a good boy, definitely deserving his retirement at 403 points across the disciplines. Seeing him compete in Show Jumping (151 points) with Narcisa Foremann has been one of the biggest pleasures in my life. He definitely takes after his sire BOE Sailor Moon, and has done a great job at every show!

Dressage (137 points) wasn't what he enjoyed the most, but he did well there too along with the halter shows for Sportshorses (115 points).

Retirering GE Rosebank was harder than I had thought possible. She is such a good mare, her rider Vigga Hertz can only agree with that, and we are happy to now have an offspring of hers, who can take over after her.

Whether in Sportshorse (181 points), Show Jumping (146 points) or Dressage (170 points) she always did her best. She is such a prima mare of the Hanoverians, and we will probably never get a mare like her again.

BOE Ladykiller shouldn't have been retired this early. Shouldn't have been dead either. Yet he hurt himself so badly at a show that he had to be put down.

He earned himself a few points throughout his lifetime: Turkoman (41 points), Show Jumping (57 points) and Dressage (52 points) - and will give his skills to his sons in hopes that they will remember him, and have the same skill as him in shows.

That was all the horses retired this month!

The babies and their mommies are having the time of their life in the pasture. The fillies has already become good friends, though it's clear which one is the dominating one in the relationship xD

Our quite new mare GE Rosebank has also entered the pasture, though only with young Opaline for now. She was mostly bought because Opaline needed a new mommy/mentor now that Prada has her foal to worry about, but Rosebank is SUCH a sweet girl!

She is an experiences Show Jumper, and will soon be entering shows alongside the other horses.

Opaline seems to have taken a liking to the mature mare, they are already grooming each other. Most of the time it's not a problem to bring to horses who are strangers to each other, as long as it's only them in the pasture to begin with.

Ismael will be her new rider, and I'm pretty good with that. I will of course possibly want to be the first one to try her out in the arena, but he will be the one bonding, training and competing with her.

And Neha had a better ride on Pax today. Ismael was lunging Opaline under my supervision, as he has not worked a lot with youngsters. He has only worked with horses already broken in, and has never taught a horse to jump for the first time. He seemes to enjoy working with Opaline though, and Pax was actually behaving himself.

And look at this little guy we just collected! He is son of BOE Sailor Moon and PRH Rising Sun, and he is named EIEC Rolly Joger. He is a little pirate, lol xD

He is enjoying the pasture with gelding RRS Caspian, acting as nanny. Hopefully he can come and play with the fillies soon, but as he is months older (more specifically 3 months), he is probably too rough in his play right now for the barely two days old fillies.

Soon he will grow into a handsome though wonky build (bc all of them looks wonky) yearling, and we can begin training him a bit more!

THE BOYS

Just a few pictures of our warmbloods, who are very happy to get their blankets off, even if it was just for a few hours. They definitely enjoyed the sunny day!

STARTING UP SOMETHING NEW

Today was the start of something new for Black Onyx Equestrian. Narcisa has taken the job as General Manager, and is mostly managing the Hanoverians as she knows them best. She has also brought some of her old staff with her, and they work well together so I am happy.

Day begin with a grooming session for Rolly (BOE Rolly Joger), who is the son of BOE Sailor Moon by the way. We are expecting great things from him, even though he hasn't been broken in for that long yet.

Vigga poked Narcisa on the shoulder, while she was grooming Rolly.

"Can you help a little with Keystone?" she asked her, and smiled hopefully.

Narcisa looked thoughtful and maybe a little annoyed (but not much).

"All you have to do is hold the rope, while I lean over his back, it will take a second I promise!" patting the neck of the young stallion as she spoke.

"Sure, let me just make sure Rolly will be ok while I am gone," she said, loosening his ropes from the rings.

"See you in the indoor arena!" Vigga called out, before leaving the barn with Keystone (BOE Akeystone).

When Narcisa had put the chestnut into his stall, and kissed him goodbye ("I'll be back soon, I promise!") she left to find Vigga and the black stallion in the indoor arena.

"Just hold here!" Vigga said, as Narcisa entered the dressage arena.

"Sure," she replied, holding onto the rope, but not touching the horse. This was Vigga's 'project' and she would not interfear.

"Good boy!" Vigga said, while scratching the stallions side, as she leaned over him and put weight on his back.

The stallion flicked his ear backwards to listen to what she was doing, but did not move. Narcisa's only task was to keep Keystone calm and where he was.

Vigga did that a few times more, before exciting the arena with a: "I'll be right back!"

Confused Narcisa just stood with the young stallion, patting his neck, now that Vigga's work seemed to be over.

Soon after Vigga came back with Rolly though. She had tacked him up and everything for Narcisa, which was nice. Then she could just do as planned right away, instead of needing to go back to the barn to put on saddle and so on.

"Thank you, Vigga," she said and smiled slightly.

"It's me who should thank you. Let me just take Keystone back to the barn again for a little groom, and then I will bring him to the pasture, and get on with the next horse," she gave her a blinding smile, and accepted the rope from her.

"He will be a fine horse in no time, Vigga," Narcisa said, as she felt like she had been acting ungrateful.

"I'm sure of it!" Vigga replied cheerfully, and led the stallion back to the barn.

Then finally Narcisa could get on with today's training. She pulled the blanket to the place just behind the saddle, and mounted the chestnut stallion. It was fun how people claimed that Chestnuts were always spicy. There was nothing spicy about Rolly, that was for sure. He was calm and level-headed almost always. But then again he is in fact Sailor's son after all.

IT HAS BEEN QUIET

(IRL I have been packing up my apartment bc I am moving, but I wanna make a last update this month in my old apartment, and this is it!)

Aida's baby has come home to us, and our oldest daughter Calypso has been training her today. Her name is Kalliope T, and she is a beautiful Oldenburg mare after two of my own horses. Her sire is BOE Rolly Joger, and she is just so much like her dam VC Aida.

Today Calypso brought her out for some lunging, and she did pretty well. I looked over them while they did it, and I am pretty sure she will be ready to get a rider on her back soon. She will be Calypso's private horse for now and probably forever, bc when an Aida offspring chooses a rider it's for forever.

Calypso has been working on strengthening their bond, so K (Kalliope) won't be too surprised by Calypso crawling onto her back at some point soon.

She is such a cutie, and they look so cute together. She has so much of her mother's build, and her dad's gentle soul, while she also has a little spice from her mother. They will be a very good equipage soon I am sure!

Athena has had the flu for a while, and hasn't been riding her pony Sterry (Orchard's Sterling) a lot since he got here. But she was happy to feel better today, and actually be able to ride again. She has clearly been missing that. She is her mothers' daughter after all!

She even did a bit of jumping, bc they will soon be entering their first show jumping competition together. Though next weekend they have their first show ever, just dressage though.
