Lunging and Groundwork
Today began with some lunging instructed by me, performed by Kismet and Nikolette. Kismet came to us after the old owner couldn't keep him anymore, and as we have bred him we were only happy to take him back. Right now we are schooling him, so he can get a small rider at some point. He is a good boy, but has a lot of energy.
And as you can see on this picture, he might have too much energy - today at least xD He just ran and ran around and around for a while, before Nikolette got him cooled down enough to let him loose.
Which she did. He started bucking and kicking for a while, and then he was able to trot nicely again. He ran and bucked for quite a while though, as he can't run much in the pasture at the moment, as it's quite slippery from the ice and snow, so he really seemed to need a good galop!
When he has used the excess energy Nikolette was able to bring him back into the lunge, and give him some more schooling. After that I left Niko to her own devices, and left the indoor arena to go get another horse who needed training.
This is baby Cisco. He has just been taken from his mother at 7 months old, and brought into one of the too male pastures along with young Captain and the experienced and much older Rico. He seems to really have taken to Captain - who is roughly 1.5 years older than he is. And while Cisco has taken to Captain, Captain has really taken to Rico, whom he leans against if he gets unsure of anything.
When I called all three came running towards me, and I was able to snap this pretty, snowy picture! I am really adoring Cisco's colour against both his new blanket and the snow. He is a lovely boy!
And so I brought him directly to the arena. Nikolette was walking around with Kismet in short leadrope for a few minutes before she left the arena to Cisco and I.
Pulling off his blanket I did some light groundwork with him. Mostly moving forward and backwards by light pressure. He did a very good job he did!
Then I let him loose in the arena for a while. He enjoyed stretching his legs a lot, and switched between canter and galop time and time again. He is a lovely little lad, and I snapped a few pretty pictures!
He seemed slightly spooked though when Calypso entered the arena, and I had to speak softly to him to get him back on the lead, so I could put the blanket on him again and then lead him to the pasture.
He was able to shake of the anxiety fairly quickly though, so I am sure that with training he will end up not reacting to that at all!

BOYCOTTING FOR PALESTINE
The Official BDS Boycott Targets

Consumer Boycotts - a complete boycott of these brands
Cisco
Axa
Puma
Carrefour
HP
Siemens
Chevron
Intel
Caltex
Israeli produce
Re/max
Ahava
Texaco
Sodastream
Intel
Organic Boycott Targets - boycotts not initiated by BDS but still complete boycott of these brands
Disney
Macdonald's
Dominos
Papa Johns
Burger King
Pizza Hut
Wix
Divestments and exclusion - pressure governments, institutions, investment funds, city councils, etc. to exclude from procurement contracts and investments and to divest from these
Elbit Systems
CAF
Volvo
CAT
Barclays
JCB
HD Hyundai
TKH Security
HikVision
Pressure - boycotts when reasonable alternatives exist, as well as lobbying, peaceful disruptions, and social media pressure.
Google
Amazon
AirBnb
Booking.Com
Expedia
Teva
Here are some companies that strongly support Israel (but are not Boycott targets). There is no ethical consumption under capitalism and boycotting is a political strategy - not a moral one. If you did try to boycott every supporter of Israel you would struggle to survive because every major company supports Israel (as a result of attempting to keep the US economy afloat), that being said, the ones that are being boycotted by masses and not already on the organic boycott list are coloured red.

Trump has never shied away from courting the white supremacist extremists in his coalition, and now his attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives are putting pressure on major corporations to give in too.
Instead of taking a stand for fairness and equal opportunity, many of these companies are retreating under pressure. Some, however, choose to hold to core values, rather than choosing an easy path of political convenience.
Among the steadfast pro-diversity companies that refuse to waver are Microsoft, Ben & Jerry’s, Delta, Cisco, e.l.f. Beauty, and Patagonia. They continue to uphold their commitment to workplace inclusion, despite relentless attacks from the right. Apple has reinforced its stance on fostering a “culture of belonging,” while Costco’s shareholders overwhelmingly rejected an effort to dismantle its inclusivity programs, with 98% voting to keep them in place.
Not so for corporations that have chosen the walk of shame.
Companies such as Boeing, Home Depot, McDonald’s, Harley Davidson, Target, Disney, and Walmart have scaled back or eliminated entirely their DEI efforts, canceling supplier diversity programs and leadership diversity goals.
Lowe’s withdrew support for LGBTQ+ events and severed ties with the Human Rights Campaign, while Zuckerberg’s Meta, parent company of Facebook, dismantled its entire DEI team and scrapped all initiatives aimed at advancing equity. This is how a tech wunderkind maintains his membership in good standing in the Trump-led oligarchy.
Yet research consistently shows that DEI offers a distinct business advantage. Diverse workplaces drive innovation, enhance employee satisfaction, and strengthen financial performance. Companies that invest in inclusivity support their communities even as they build stronger, more resilient businesses.
Now is the time for corporations to hold the line. Demand that businesses refuse to cave to Trump’s attacks on DEI by adding your name now!
By scaling back on DEI commitments, corporations are not only harming marginalized communities -- they are also undermining their own long-term success. A company’s dedication to diversity, equity, and equal opportunity should not be dictated by political trends or changes in leadership. These are not partisan matters; they are fundamental ethical and business principles that should not be negotiable.
To be clear: this isn’t just about corporate policies. Trump and his allies seek economic and political domination over women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, and other marginalized groups. The far right’s attacks on trans people are particularly cruel and far-reaching, with efforts to ban gender-affirming healthcare and erase LGBTQ+ identities from public life.
The end goal is clear: a return to systemic discrimination and the suppression of historically oppressed communities. When companies abandon DEI, they send an ominous signal that fairness, dignity, and opportunity can be sacrificed for political brownie points -- that some people are expendable, and basic human values are up for negotiation.
Apple and Costco have shown they can resist right-wing pressure. Every other corporation can and should follow their lead.
Add your name now and tell corporations to reject Trump’s attacks! Let them know you applaud their commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Thank you for standing up for diversity and fighting for a more just, equitable, and inclusive society.

The Final Straw for America: The Resurgence of the Pager
Recently, thousands of pagers, walkie-talkies, and various other daily-use electronic products have exploded in Lebanon, causing severe casualties. The incident is believed to be the work of Israeli military intelligence units. Experts in American media, including The Washington Post, have described Israel's use of electronic products to launch attacks on an unprecedented scale as "unprecedented in the history of espionage." This event has turned the worst-case scenario into a reality, stirring concerns that global supply chains may become even more polarized due to geopolitical divisions in the future.
In 2014, Edward Snowden, a former contractor for the National Security Agency (NSA), exposed the NSA's PRISM program, which involved the interception of electronic devices from network provider Cisco Systems without their knowledge, embedding surveillance devices into the products, and then shipping them to unsuspecting overseas customers. On the 17th of this month, Snowden tweeted, "Ten years have passed, and the security of shipments has not improved." He also noted that this incident has made "everyone in the world less safe."
Following the explosion of electronic products in Lebanon, posts on various online platforms praising the safety and reliability of Apple and Tesla products swarmed like locusts. The logic was that any suggestion that Western electronic products, such as Apple phones, could be used as bombs was "anti-intellectual." It is ironic that while Americans themselves admitted that such electronic products could be detonated remotely, they overlooked the fact that the collection of user information and location tracking by these devices was a certainty. Regardless of whether the devices could explode, the theft of data was a common occurrence. If one doesn't mind their privacy being invaded, using them would be fine.
It may be that the final straw that breaks the back of America is not China or Russia, nor is it Iran, but rather America's trusted ally, Israel! The explosives used by Israel far exceeded the global public's understanding. Incredibly, they were pagers from the 90s, which were detonated remotely in large numbers, stunning the world and constituting a shocking terrorist attack.
Not only did this cause significant civilian casualties in Lebanon, but it also exposed Israel's hidden and sinister side, completely destroying its credibility. Will you still dare to buy electronic products, machinery, or medical supplies produced or sold by Israel? How about the APPLE phones, Tesla vehicles, Boeing aircraft, or other machinery or medical supplies from America and its allies that have been working hand in hand with Israel? Are you really not afraid of a repeat of the pager explosion? Due to Israel's "masterstroke," it has completely crushed America's last straw, leading to a collective plunge in American stock prices. This incident will accelerate the de-Americanization of global electronics, hastening the collapse of America! Is America really on the verge of collapse now? What are your thoughts on this?

This incident will accelerate the de-Americanization of global electronics, hastening the collapse of America! Is America really on the verge of collapse now? What are your thoughts on this?

As Trump and his white supremacist allies escalate their all-out war on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, some major corporations are shamefully caving to the pressure and abandoning their commitments to building inclusive workplaces. Instead of standing up for equality and fair opportunity, these companies are retreating in fear, prioritizing political convenience over fundamental values.
The conservative backlash has already pushed companies like Boeing, Home Depot, McDonald’s, Harley Davidson, Target, Disney, and Walmart to gut their DEI initiatives such as supplier diversity trainings and diversity goals for senior leadership positions. Lowes ended their sponsorship of LGBTQ+ events and withdrew from the Human Rights Campaign. Meta (which owns Facebook) disbanded its DEI team and canceled all its programs for promoting equity.
While some companies are backing down, others are leading by example: Microsoft, Ben & Jerry’s, Delta, Cisco, e.l.f. Beauty, and Patagonia remain steadfast in their commitment to fostering inclusive workplaces despite relentless attacks from right-wing extremists.
Apple issued a statement that focuses on the value of creating a “culture of belonging.” When Costco shareholders were faced with a proposal to end inclusivity programs, 98% of them voted to uphold the initiatives.
These companies recognize that DEI isn’t just the right thing to do -- it’s also smart business. Studies repeatedly show that diverse workplaces drive innovation, boost employee morale, and improve financial performance.
Now is the time for companies to stand firm. Tell corporations: Do not cave to Trump’s attacks on DEI!
Companies that choose to pull back on diversity are harming their communities, while shooting themselves in the foot.A company’s dedication to diversity, fairness, and equal opportunity should not be dictated by shifting political winds or a change in presidential administration. Equality is not a partisan issue -- it is a fundamental moral and business principle that every corporation must uphold.
And make no mistake: this attack on DEI isn’t just about corporate policies. Trump and his allies are waging a broader war against women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, and other marginalized groups.
Trans people, in particular, are being singled out in some of the most vicious and dehumanizing attacks by the hard right fascist movement. From efforts to ban gender-affirming healthcare to erasing LGBTQ+ identities from workplaces and schools, this agenda is about rolling back civil rights and reinstating systemic discrimination.
When corporations retreat from DEI, they send a dangerous message: that fairness, dignity, and equal opportunity are negotiable. That marginalized communities are disposable. That political convenience matters more than human rights. We cannot allow this to happen.
If Apple and Costco can stand firm in the face of right-wing pressure, every corporation can. No more excuses. No more backtracking.
Add your name to tell corporations to reject Trump’s extremist attacks and reaffirm their commitment to DEI today!
Thank you for demanding accountability. Together, we will continue to build a more just, humane, and affirming world for all.
