Yep. It's been over a year that I've been saying COVID is causing, essentially, C-AIDS. That is, Covid-Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.

The "COVID is the new HIV" idea is supported by current studies showing viral persistence of COVID in various places throughout the body, long after infection. It doesn't just cause some damage and then completely go away.

Our children, the ones who survive to adulthood, will not forgive us.

The best gift you can give your children in a world of climate crisis and social collapse will be "the fewest COVID infections possible" (both for themselves and you).

Mask the fuck up. Wear an N95, KN95, KF94, or better mask. Use HEPA filters or a Corsi-Rosenthal box. Exchange the air with outside air.

At-home rapid tests are giving a lot of false negatives (because they were build to detect the original version), so do test ... but don't take a single negative result as "definitely don't have it". If you test positive, you're contagious. Even if it's been 5, 10, or more days.

Sick of posts that say stuff like "all mobility aid users should weaponize their mobility aids"

hey man, I can't do that! I need to bring my mobility aids into places that would deny me entrance for things like spikes and barbed wire! not every cripplepunk is a white skinny cane user, and having something deemed as a 'weapon' on some of us can be genuinely life threatening, even if it's a mobility aid! I don't want to have my rollator taken away from me and have to be searched bc I put some spikes on a seat cover or something!!! let cripplepunks express their punkness however is safe and comfortable for them, don't expect us all to be able to do the same things you can, because we all cant

if you move a disabled person's rollator/walker. you are taking part of their autonomy. I don't think people understand that our mobility aids are an extension of our bodies. You wouldn't kick an abled person in the shins or grab their arms and twist them just to see how they would react, or see if they'd be able to get around and function. You treat us like a joke. Our mobility aids aren't toys that you can play with and fidget with and god forbid potentially break. They're part of us. You have no right to touch them. If you take my fucking cane away from me, I can't walk properly.

If you touch my fucking mobility aid, you take away part of my autonomy.

Read a fic today (which I adored, to be clear) that had Charles think “Platonic or romantic, it didn’t matter” and. Besties. Charles is not thinking in these words. Charles Rowland is not out here like. Pondering the split-attraction model. He’s trying to decide whether he likes Edwin or like-likes him. He’s not going “well hmm, I experience a desire to kiss Edwin, but kissing can be an expression of platonic affection, sexual attraction, or sensual attraction, it does not necessarily have romantic indications” we’re working on “Edwin’s lips are really pretty… but what if he has cooties” levels here at best.

We all know there's a fat erasure problem with Good Omens art and photo edits. We've gotta stop being afraid to let them have skin folds, stretch marks and soft bellies but another thing we don't talk about is how important it is leaving them their wrinkles, their eye bags and their imperfections of age. It's part of their beauty but it also signifies something incredibly important, in my opinion.

Part of what makes Crowley and Aziraphale such unique and wonderful examples of representation, is that they're not perfect, model-like young adults. Middle aged queer characters are so important because queer elders as a whole are so rare. The world's respective governments significantly failed queer folks during the AIDS crisis in the 80s and as a result, older queer couples, especially mlm or masc presenting couples aren't particularly prevalent in media, and having that example is a strange little beacon of hope.

So please, let Crowley have his forehead wrinkles and let Aziraphale keep his eye bags. Not only are they lovely, notable parts of their appearance but they symbolize something larger than just that. Let these old, alt, soft, queer man-shaped beings be just that.

But they are always going to be stunned into silence at any naked part of the MC, nevermind ALL of it. Doesn't say anything, just quietly carries on, but they are looking. Intently. Will quietly excuse themself to go back to their room later. Oof. Keep in mind, they have most definitely seen the Servant's body before, but it keeps on enthralling them.

Dasha: Finds it... Strangely cute? Just wandering around their rooms, feeling at ease to go a ambling. Can't help the smile, but would only really make side comments, "Fire too warm? I could just get someone to tend to it." or "Hm. It seems like it is quite... Nippy. Ahem."

Sasha: Oh dear. Will wander over and be unable to cease the pawing. "Is this a trend abroad/downstairs? Keep it just here though." Will most probably join the MC in this, happy to strip down to NEXT to nothing, or nothing at all. Just enjoys watching the MC most of all but some days will pounce on them when the mood strikes.

Priest J: Finds it... Cute. Will gently quiz about it, smile gently but something hungry lingering along their teeth. "Do you enjoy the freedom it brings? Or is it something else? Attention or gratification?" Interested. Does like it when they get to touch the MC in someway, with a hand on their back, MC on their knee, fingers against the neck. Fleeting.

Pavel: Freaks out. Immediately turns out, stiff as a board... In more than one way. Asks them to wear SOMETHING during their chat and then will flee. Is used to nudity, hell, he's been on a battlefield for most of his adult life. But it's different when it's from someone he has.... Tender feelings for? Nope. Does bring with a fur coat to have them wear whenever he comes to talk.

so...

I USED A WHEELCHAIR IN PUBLIC FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY!! i went to a theme park and i had SUCH a great outing - i was in so much less pain, and my fatigue levels were pretty low despite it being hot as hell, and a long and exciting day.

it was pretty hard self propelling (my shoulders kinda hurt but not as much as i thought they would), but i had someone to push me up hills and stuff. it was also a bit tricky steering and stuff but i got the hang of it!

i kept forgetting when i put the brakes on and i'd try to push, only to not go anywhere, which was fun XD

three people asked me if i needed help pushing myself, which was a very kind offer and i was admittedly struggling to push myself ajhfdsj. i didn't accept the help but it was very kind of them to offer <3

nondisabled psa: it's best not to ask unless a disabled person asks ur help, but if they're visibly struggling it's okay to ask. i definitely appreciated it but not every disabled person will

i also tried a few wheelies, but i can't balance :( if any wheelchair users have any tips on doing a wheelie (in a hospital chair with self propelling wheels) please rb and tell me! /nf. i also felt the tires didn't have much traction, which made wheelies harder in that chair

okay time for the deep shit. seriously guys, i have been waiting for a day like this for months. i've dreamt of feeling comfortable in my body when i go out for years. i've looked with curiosity and envy at wheelchair users and wished i could have that access, instead of being in pain all the time. i've leaned on railings, sat on floors, and pushed through horrible pain and fatigue.

and today, all of that came to an end.
