touch starved anon
Hi! I’m an anon already but I’m kinda shy to admit this as my other anon,
But, I think I’m touch starved? I don’t get the “feel good” endorphins when I hug my parents (usually because I’m not allowed to say no) but like, when my friends hug me and stuff it feels so lovely that I could cry. I don’t actually know how to be less surface level friends with my friends so I can stay stuff like this, but I really care about them all so much. I just want to hang out with them more. I just want to hug them more.
Hi!
I think the thing with touch is that like...it feels the nicest when it comes from people that you trust. So maybe it's that you trust your friends more than your parents? Which makes sense, seeing as the touch with your friends is a choice.
If you're not comfortable talking with your friends about it, remember that touch doesn't just have to be hugs! You can just sit close together, rest a head or hand on someone's shoulder, share a seat, link elbows, hold hands....that can all be platonic, and be physically grounding. Maybe try initiating some small touch and see how it's received? (pay attention to their reactions to make sure they're okay with it, obviously) You can also just ask "hey, can I have a hug?" without explaining the why. It's okay to ask for a hug :)

thoughts anon to exam results anon (slight TW...mentions of SI, unhealthy coping)
Hi Cas it's thoughts anon and I don't know if you even remember me but I'm writing about exam results anon
I think the exams they are referring to is the CBSE/ICSE Boards Examination for standards 10 and 12 (majorly Indian education boards) and I took the exams this year myself and the results came out 13th May. I was in tenth standard when I took the exams (like a sophomore, I think) and now I'm in eleventh (junior). And yes for us these exams are a pretty big deal (the twelfth standard ones are an even BIGGER deal). They, like, decide our future with no retakes or refunds. (I mean you can retake them... After a year of sitting with 10th standard students that are younger than you, learning the syllabus ALL OVER AGAIN and that's only if you fail... So.) The exams are designed to help you pass but the rest is your battle. Strangely though (as is the case with exam results anon) I got higher marks in subjects I'm not terribly good at and lower (than my usual grade) in my best subjects.
Also parents are pretty strict on this matter. My parents are different (my dad is non-existent and my mom is a college dropout). They literally expected me to fail lmao but no I got an average of 85 percent which isn't really good but I have to live with it now so :/
Anyway the situation is that parents in India are really strict about boards and it's like. Those numbers do define you. To a certain extent they define the love you receive from your family and your friends. If you get less than 80 percent then you're toast (ie you'll never get into good colleges and you'll basically never get a high-paying job) and if you FAIL... It could mean disownment. I've literally heard of people within my old school who offed themselves over these numbers but it was all covered up in the news as 'mysterious but tragic deaths'. I know. It's fucked up. It's a horrible reality. The exams themselves are simple but high stakes (like I said, they help you pass but passing is not all that matters) so there is a LOT of toxicity within the existing society about getting good grades.
There are only two types of parents in this aspect. The kind who pressurize their kids to an unholy they-can-barely-keep-up-with-it degree (like hitting and shouting at them and pushing them into too many private tuitions) and the ones who don't (because of work and all that) but wish they did. They pin their frustrations on their kids and say cruel things in the heat of the moment and you can see it, in real time, that those words register in their heads and they will remember it forever. Exam results anon seems like a pretty good student from what I can tell and they don't deserve what their mother is telling them. Feeling like everyone would be better off without your existence is something I understand. Feeling like your mother should have a better child is also something I get. For advice the only thing I've really done about my nastier emotions is shove it way down but I don't think that's very helpful (as advice but in practicality it works really well) so I'm just sending them love and support!
Hi! This is so kind of you <3 And wow....this absolutely sucks and I feel like the way people approach this isn't healthy at all...I can't imagine the pressure. And the fact that PARENTS act like this...it's frustrating. I get that there's a societal and cultural aspect involved, but I can;t imagine pushing a kid that hard.
I get what you mean about the tests being so high-stakes, but I do want to stick with my opinion that you are worth so much more than a test score. It's awful that people don't act that way, but as a PERSON, you are so much more.
Don't bottle up your emotions, though! Please talk about them <3 Vent in my inbox if you need to!

rainbow hearts anon
Hi cas rainbow hearts anon here! You were 100% correct with me needing a space to vent and yes I sorta do know that it will get better so I'm just really holding on for when that day comes. About the talking to someone I have thought about talking to our school counselor but I tried to earlier in the year for other issues (ik my life is so easy and problemfree) but it just ended with them telling me they would call me later and they never did and I went like three times. And he's also just really focused on the people he already knows and people he's talked to since forever so it's just another place where I feel like I don't fit so I've sorta removed that as an option unless I'm really desperate and feel like I absolutely need it. I've been doing a bit better since I sent the ask obviously none of my problems have gone away but I'm in the part of the cycle where I just had a breakdown and am now ready for more stuff to hold onto untill I eventually break again. But fun stuff now because my life isn't really all that bad my friends want to go to the fair and they invited me to go so I'm super happy but at the same time not because it is 35 dollars and I wanted to give more money to my mom or use it to buy their presents but I think I'm just going to go to the fair and give my mom some of my birthday money. And while I'm on that topic my birthday is like a month away and I am sooooo excited because I will finally get my hair dyed purple which has been my dream since forever so I'm super excited and really happy that all the work I did to convince my parents is soon going to pay off. So yeah thank you for responding to my last ask it felt so nice having someone listen to my problems and not feel judged 💜🩶🩷🧡💙🖤🩵💚🤎🤍💛❤️
Hi <3
Ugh, I'm sorry the guidance counselor wasn't very good. I hope you know that has nothing to do with you. Sounds like they don't do their job very well. Please know you're still always welcome to vent here <3
The fair sounds so fun! And purple hair, too? I have purple hair, it's the best :D If you have the money, can I suggest getting some purple pigmented conditioner (different than purple shampoo/conditioner for blondes)? It helps the purple stay longer. SO worth it.
Happy early birthday!

ace qpr anon
hi!! i'm here for advice and to rant :3
so i'm a high school freshman, i'm fourteen and i have no gender (afab). i'm in a qpr with my bestie who's also nb and fourteen, and we're both ace. the idea of anything yk sexual grosses me out, like even kissing and i have kind of a hard time with physical touch i don't initiate. my partner is really touchy tho and i'm kind of an angry person by nature (i blame my dad) and i'm worried that i'll blow up on them by accident if they try to press me for anything. i'm worried about it solely because i have been known to blow up at people i love and be really nice and kind to people i don't purely because i feel comfortable enough to actually express myself with people i love. i really love them /p and i don't want to lose them but i'm worried. yk. sorry to make you read all this and i hope you have a great day :)
Hi!
Okay so it sounds like both of you have some work to do here. First, if you set a boundary about not wanting to be touched, your partner needs to respect that, NO EXCEPTIONS. Your body is your body, and if your partner isn't respecting that, it might be that this partnership isn't healthy. Make sure you set those boundaries, and don't back down. You deserve that respect.
As far as getting angry...I'm gonna be very loving here when I say that just as you have control over your body, you have control over your actions. I ALSO can get angry easily, so I'm not judging you at all, please know. And recognizing that is a great first step! But now it's time to work on it. Your dad may have taught you anger, but you're old enough to not continue the cycle. If your partner does break those boundaries, you need to practice ways of saying something that's firm but KIND. Because you're right, your anger could cause you to lose them, but that responsibility is on you, as well.
I think two things I'd try is first: if you're feeling angry, step away. It's okay to take a moment to step back from the situation, knowing you might say something you regret. I do it all the time (taking a step back) and it makes a HUGE difference.
Second, practice what to say in that situation. Have the words ready. That way, it's easier to find them in the moment.
Sending you love and luck!

exam results anon
hey cas! This is exam results anon....
I talked about getting less-than-expected marks in English. To answer your question, wwe can only retake the test if we fail the subject, so i can't retake it.
But good news is, I glt into one of the most prestigious college in my state. Like it's super hard to get into it without recommendations and stuff. I had that college as my second choice but they called me for a test and personal interview a few days back. They were very impressed with my writing ability and I kinda told them that I write poetry and stuff, so they were pretty happy to offer me a merit seat in the morning batch.
So I pretty much shut people up by getting into a college without depending on anything other than my talent. My mom finally told me out loud that she's proud of me.
Thank you for your kind words in my last anon ask. I actually made that ask shortly after I got my results, so when i got into that college i was excited to tell you that everything worked out.
Thank you soo much cas.
With love, exam results anon<3
Oh my god this is AMAZING! I am so proud of you, and I hope you're proud of yourself!
As far as your mom being proud...I'm glad she is. But remember that pride in yourself is most important. You worked hard the whole time, and you should be proud of your test results AND your talents. You sound like an amazing student and an amazing person.
I hope you have a great time in college!

Heyy a fellow Indian atheist here. Wanted to ask if yk any atheist blogs giving reference to Hindu or Indian culture?? And I'm sick of my mom chanting mantras and dohas out loud when I'm literally having my 12th cbse boards exam like dude u don't wanna let me study and then u're like atleast pray so u can get good marks???
I don't know of any blogs or sites specifically to do with Indian or ex-Hindu atheism. I have responded to ex-Hindu questions on occasion, so I'd suggest looking through those for anyone who might be interesting to you. Otherwise, just follow the global "ex hindu" tag.
As far as your mother goes, there's probably not a lot you can do. It's not your belief, but it is hers. She believes she's doing something good and helping you, even though objectively she is not.
Perhaps you can try to establish a division of labor, of sorts, whereby she's in charge of the prayers and you're in charge of the studying? You could point out that no amount of praying will ensure you pass if you don't study; nobody who prayed but didn't study ever passed, while people who studied but didn't pray have certainly passed.
Failing that, get your (or some) earphones and drown her out with music that helps you study. Or a white noise app. 🤷♀️🤷♂️

Can I pass physics just from theory? Idk derivations or how to solve numericals....
Cbse class 12 2024
♣
look you need 23-24 marks to pass, and if you did good in practicals just passing theory could pull you into the 50s
so to answer your question, yes you can probably pass with just theory provided you can solve at least some of the MCQs which are directly formula based, Assertion Reason questions, the case-based questions which are theoretical and at least 10-12 marks in general will definitely be theory so adding up all that you could probably manage to pass
however if you're planning on giving entrances most cut offs are 60% in science subjects for eligibility and you still have a day so I would suggest going through the derivations and learning as many formulas as you can
just knowing some formulas will really help in MCQs and in numericals even if you cannot solve them just writing the formulas and putting the values will fetch you marks cz of step-marking so try and learn as many formulas as you can, and derivations will help you with not only knowing the formulas but also get you 3-4 marks per question so I suggest you start with that
here, use this
also, go through the graphs, at least 1-2 questions will definitely come either based on graphs or based on "if X increases Y will increase/decrease/remain constant" so knowing a few graphs might be useful
#ik this all seems really overwhelming bcz istg these bitches gave us the least gap compared to all other streams they hate us#but you can do it i promise#ask

I've my isc chem board exam tomorrow (today?) at 2PM I'm panicking and this is the only thing that I can think to do
Advice? Help? Thoughts? Prayers?
Hey anon maggot I've got you. First, breathe, okay?
My (CBSE) chem board exam was on my birthday when it happened. And I hadn't prepared properly at all due to various health things. I was stressed out and miserable. But guess what. It went fine.
I promise you, the boards aren't the life-changing, life-defining, be-all-and-end-all exams that the Indian system keeps making us believe. I know it's hard to agree with me right now. Everyone told me the same thing and I was still so stressed about it.
Remember these things, okay?
These exams are not competitive exams. They're not trying to weed out people. They're made so even the students who barely grasped the material can still score enough to pass. You will get marks. It's inevitable.
Also, try and write the answers in the way those buggers want it, such as adding steps to calculations, ensuring the format with chemical reactions, including formulae and keywords. It's less about how right you are and more how you are right about it.
These exams are really not going to affect a lot. If you're in the science stream, odds are you're more relying on some kind of competitive exam for entrance to whatever course you're studying. These courses usually just have a minimum percentage needed in the boards.
Even if you are using the boards for entrance into colleges, remember that you have studied, and they're easier than people make them out to be. I swear they are.
Now, I know worst case scenarios might crop up in your brain, and in that case look. Even if you fail, there are retakes. Even if you can't do the retakes, there's a provision to write them again the next year.
Again, these exams are going to be really easy compared to your internal assessments. Schools structure them that way so that their students do well in the boards and their own credibility increases. What's going to be more important than your preparation is that you sit there calm enough to write down what you know, check for mistakes if you have time, don't short-circuit your brain with panic and make avoidable errors, and most importantly, leave feeling okay. Yeah?
There's nothing wrong with being worried, but don't let it get out of hand. You're worth so much more than one stupid exam. Please take my word for this, I've learned the hard way. The next three paragraphs are my personal story, and if you don't have time to read it, feel free to skip it, I'll make my point after.
That chem board exam of mine? I got 99%. And guess what, I still took a gap year because the exam stress of NEET and the boards landed me in the fucking hospital with steroidal injections the week before the NEET and I couldn't take the exam.
I spent the drop year studying myself to literal breakdown for the NEET. And then I realised the week before NEET that fuck, I didn't actually want to do science anymore. The NEET exam was on my birthday, again. I wrote it, because the exams had nearly killed me and I wanted to just write it to get closure. The next week, I got into a design school.
And three months into design school, I dropped out. Because of intense bullying, harassment and isolation by every single student in the small college including the dean because of my mental health and queerness. I loved the course and the material, and I'd been performing well, but I had to drop out anyway. A month later, I got admission into a much more well-known design school for next year. But now I'm not sure I want to do on-campus education anymore, because of how every aspect of my identity will have to be hidden to survive.
The point? There are so, so many factors that they don't tell you about on how life will go and where you'll end up, what you'll study and who you'll be. The boards are a very, very tiny part of that. Honestly, all exams are just one part of that. An important part, sometimes. But not by any means the only. I did extremely well in my exams, even with health issues, and look at my college dropout ass two years after the boards. And yet I'm still really happy, and my career is not doomed.
This may be more than you wanted. But I think it's something students need to hear. I don't want people to be driven to the brink, landed in a hospital like I was, because of a few fucking scores.
As for your exam, well, again: stay calm, and then you'll remember everything. Neuroscience proves that, by the way. It also proves that all the information you consciously or unconsciously absorbed throughout the year will spring up unexpectedly and help you.
It'll go well. I promise. It'll all go well for you.
All the best, my maggot. Take all the love and wishes. I'm rooting for you, always. And I'm so proud of you already. Yeah? Good :")
Love, Asmi
#weirdly specific but ok#asmi#maggots#please take care of yourselves#i believe in you#you're so much more than a test#whatever the stupid education system tells you#yeah?#good#i love you and i'm proud of you

Dehradun, nestled in the scenic foothills of the Himalayas, is not only known for its natural beauty but also for being one of India’s leading educational hubs. With a long-standing legacy of academic excellence, the city is home to numerous prestigious schools that follow the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum. Among them, the top CBSE schools in Dehradun by academic performance have distinguished themselves through consistent results, innovative teaching methods, and a strong focus on overall student development.
For parents seeking a solid academic foundation for their children, CBSE is often the preferred choice due to its well-structured syllabus, national recognition, and emphasis on preparing students for competitive exams such as JEE, NEET, and CLAT. In Dehradun, several CBSE-affiliated schools have maintained outstanding board results year after year, producing students who go on to excel in various fields both in India and abroad.
The Importance of Academic Performance in School Selection
While extracurricular activities and personality development are essential parts of a child’s education, academic performance still plays a central role in shaping a student’s future opportunities. High-performing schools tend to follow rigorous academic schedules, maintain high teaching standards, and provide students with ample resources to achieve their goals.
Choosing a school with a proven academic track record not only increases the chances of success in board exams but also instills discipline, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of core subjects. When looking for a school in Dehradun, one of the key filters for many parents is academic excellence, and rightfully so.
What Defines Academic Success in CBSE Schools?
Academic success is not just about high marks in board exams. It is also reflected in the way students grasp concepts, apply knowledge, and perform in various academic competitions. The
often provides:
Consistent Board Results: A school’s average score in CBSE Grade X and XII examinations over multiple years is a good indicator of academic quality.
Olympiad Participation and Wins: Participation and success in national and international Olympiads showcase how well students are trained in higher-order thinking and competitive problem-solving.
Preparation for Competitive Exams: Many schools integrate entrance exam preparation into the regular curriculum or offer special support programs.
Strong Faculty Base: Qualified and experienced teachers with subject expertise play a crucial role in nurturing academic talent.
These schools don’t just prepare students to pass exams—they prepare them to excel, both in school and in life.
Examples of High-Performing CBSE Schools
While several schools in Dehradun follow the CBSE curriculum, only a few stand out due to their consistent academic results. These schools focus on creating an environment that supports academic rigor while also encouraging curiosity and independent learning. Most have state-of-the-art facilities, continuous assessment systems, and special programs to identify and support gifted students.
Parents often look at annual board exam results, toppers’ performances, and subject-wise averages to gauge the academic standing of a school. In Dehradun, some schools regularly produce students scoring above 95% in multiple subjects, with high numbers of students qualifying for premier entrance exams across India.
If you're currently trying to make a decision for your child, you can find the best CBSE school in Dehradun with detailed academic records, infrastructure details, and parent reviews by visiting ADDRESS GURU. The platform serves as a helpful starting point to compare institutions based on academic metrics and overall offerings.
Academic Support Systems and Student-Centric Policies
One of the reasons the top CBSE schools in Dehradun achieve such impressive academic results is their investment in student support systems. These may include:
Doubt Clearing Sessions: Regularly scheduled classes to help students understand challenging concepts.
Extra Coaching for Board Classes: Focused preparation for Grade X and XII students.
Performance Tracking: Use of analytics and regular assessments to monitor academic growth and intervene when necessary.
Peer Learning Programs: Encouraging collaboration and group study to build team skills and improve retention.
Mentorship and Counseling: Academic and emotional support to keep students motivated and focused.
These systems ensure that every student receives the attention and tools they need to thrive academically.
Role of Teachers in Academic Excellence
Behind every successful student is a team of dedicated educators. Teachers in the top-performing CBSE schools in Dehradun are often more than subject experts—they are mentors, motivators, and life coaches. These schools invest heavily in teacher training and development programs to keep the faculty updated with the latest teaching strategies and assessment techniques.
Personalized feedback, adaptive teaching methods, and effective classroom management contribute significantly to the academic outcomes in these institutions. The low student-teacher ratio in many schools also ensures that no student is left behind.
Blending Academics with Holistic Development
While academic success is a top priority, the top CBSE school in Dehradun does not neglect the importance of a balanced education. These schools understand that academic brilliance alone is not enough; students must also develop leadership qualities, creativity, and resilience.
That’s why many of these schools offer programs in arts, sports, public speaking, and community service alongside the academic curriculum. Inter-house competitions, debate championships, science fairs, and cultural events are regular parts of school life. This combination not only reduces academic stress but also promotes a healthy, engaging school experience.

Affordable Online Tuition in Chennai: Quality Learning at Home
Affordable Online Tuition in Chennai: Quality Learning at Home
Tired of Expensive Tuitions and Long Travel?
If you're a parent in Chennai, you’ve probably spent thousands on tuition and hours waiting in traffic. But your child still finds school tough, right?
Now, many families are switching to online tuition in Chennai—it’s cheaper, easier, and often better. Students can study from home, get good teachers, and parents save time and money.
Let’s see how this simple change is helping students and families in a big way.
Why This Matters to Families in Chennai
In Chennai, school students often face pressure—especially with board exams and entrance coaching. But not every family can afford ₹5,000–₹10,000 per month for big-name coaching centres.
Also, travelling after school is tiring. Children get no rest, and parents worry about their safety. That’s why online tuition is a smart, affordable way to support your child—without stress.
5 Reasons Why Online Tuition in Chennai Is Affordable and Effective
1. No Travel = More Time and Energy
Chennai traffic is tiring. Online tuition removes that stress. Your child can finish school, take a short break, and start tuition from home—fresh and focus
2. Cheaper Than Big Coaching Centres
Offline tuition often charges ₹3,000–₹8,000/month. But many online platforms offer plans starting from ₹999/month.
Some even allow you to book per class or per subject. This is great if you only need help in 1 or 2 subjects.
3. Learn from Qualified Teachers
Online classes are not just cheap—they’re good. You get access to trained tutors from Chennai and across India. Some are retired teachers, IIT graduates, or board exam experts.
Your child can ask doubts, get notes, and revise difficult topics in a simple way.
4. Quality Learning from Home
Online tuition gives your child peace and focus. No noisy classes. No peer pressure. And everything is done at their own pace.
5. Safe and Parent-Friendly
Online tuition is done from home. Parents don’t have to send kids outside or wait for them to return. You can even sit near your child during class and see how they’re learning.
This gives full peace of mind—especially for younger students and girls.
Real Story: How Online Tuition Helped a Middle-Class Family
Selvi, a single mother in Chromepet, was worried about her son failing in maths. Offline coaching was too expensive.
She joined IntervalEdu’s online tuition at ₹1,200/month. Her son got one-on-one help twice a week. Within three months, he passed his Class 10 maths paper with 78 marks.
Selvi says, “It’s not just cheaper. My son actually likes learning now.”
How to Choose the Right Online Tuition in Chennai
Look for these things:
Free demo class
Tutors who know your board (CBSE, ICSE, State Board)
Option for one-on-one or group classes
Recorded classes for later
Clear pricing and feedback for parents
5 Tips to Make Online Tuition Work at Home
Pick a quiet corner for your child’s class
Keep a water bottle and notebook ready
Let your child take short breaks after class
Talk to the tutor once a week
Check test reports regularly
FAQs – Common Questions by Chennai Parents
Q: Is online tuition really as good as offline coaching? Yes. In fact, students often learn better because they get personal attention.
Q: What if my child misses a class? Most platforms give recorded videos to watch later.
Q: Are these teachers qualified? Yes. Most online tutors are verified, trained, and have experience with CBSE or State boards.
Q: Is it safe for young kids? Yes. Parents can sit nearby or watch the class. It’s done from home, so there’s no safety risk.
Q: Can I try before I pay? Yes! Many platforms offer free demo classes.
Final Thoughts: Smart Learning, Simple Price
You don’t need to spend too much to give your child a good education. With online tuition in Chennai, you get affordable rates, great teachers, and safe learning at home.
From Class 5 to Class 12, students are improving their marks without extra stress. Parents are saving money and time. And most importantly, children feel more confident.
Of course! Here’s your 200-word conclusion in simple English (ELI10) with the keyword “online tuition in Chennai” used naturally:
Conclusion
Every parent wants their child to study well, feel confident, and score good marks. But finding the right tuition—one that fits your budget, time, and your child’s needs—is not always easy. That’s why online tuition in Chennai is becoming a smart choice for many families.
It saves time, avoids long travel, and gives your child good teachers right at home. You don’t have to pay too much, and your child can still learn well. Whether your child is in Class 5 or Class 12, these classes help them understand lessons clearly and ask doubts freely.
Many parents in Chennai are already seeing the benefits—better marks, less stress, and happy children who enjoy learning. You also get reports and updates, so you know how your child is doing.
