The longer their relationship lasted, the more Tenna connected the dots. Even though Tenna is an incredible delusional/daydreamer, he can't stay in his dreams forever: he has a life to live

And it’s not that difficult to come to the conclusion that D (DEE aka Dealmaker) IS that scary doll/rat

I mean, even if we put aside the strange behavior of the folk from Cybercity, Spamton himself answers questions about his "true form" evasively and fearfully, like, "you won't like what you see", "I'll scare you," and "you've seen me that way before, why more?"

So Tenna asks about it

Tenna: That person I sprayed...That was you, wasn't it?

Spamton:...Yes

Tenna starts bombarding Spamton with questions, apologizing for the spray incident, asking him to turn back and promising that he won't be scared—and Spamton only has one phrase for this stream of words—

Spamton:... Ask Kris

Tenna: I— What?

Spamton: I...I can't tell you about all of it by myself. But Kris knows, they can tell. They in Town right now, so ask. Ask them about the fate of the man with two-colour glasses. They will understand.

(Author's note: Spamton can't tell who he is and how he ended up where he did, not because of [REDACTED] is in his way, but because Spamton is??? psychologically traumatized??? And he KNOWS that if he starts telling Tenna about his fate, he wil spiralling and break down from the very first words. So he decides not to do so. Yes, it will reveal the whole truth, but it is the most painless way that Spamton can think of, and he has think about it A LOT)

So Tenna comes to Kris asking about the "man with the two-colour glasses" and Kris tells him EVERYTHING. Phone call, madness, acid (in my AU it's canon), battle with NEO! Everything!

All Eddie’s ever wanted is to play hockey. 

Sports have never really been his thing, not in the general sense that they seem to be for most athletes, but hockey? 

Yeah, hockey’s definitely his thing. 

Maybe it’s the sense of belonging, maybe it’s the fighting, maybe it’s just the fun of strapping blades to his feet and zipping around the ice like he’s still ten years old again with Wayne telling him to slow the fuck down. 

Or, maybe it’s the chemistry that he’s never seen anywhere else, specifically his chemistry with Steve Harrington. 

Okay, that can’t be the reason he’s always wanted to play hockey because he only meets Steve during their time together on the Saginaw Spirit, but it certainly doesn’t help sway him to other avenues. He doesn't expect for them to hit it off the way they do— Steve is a certified Sports Guy, a multi-sport athlete who had his pick of the pros and chose hockey over both baseball and basketball— but then Steve cracks the glass off of Eddie’s pass at their first practice together and breaks the ice, so to speak. 

There’s a running joke that the OHL is a little bit of a cult and Eddie can’t deny that claim,  so when he and Steve end up attached at the hip, no one questions them for a full two seasons. 

Two seasons of carpools to the rink, alternating playlists, and memorizing each others’ coffee orders. Two seasons of being seatmates on the plane, of weird little rituals, of pregame naps with Eddie as the little spoon that Eddie maybe enjoys a bit too much. Two seasons of being roommates in just about every hotel across the OHL, of being actual roommates who celebrate every win and suffer every loss together just hoping for their chance. 

It all comes to a screeching halt when Steve’s selected second overall in a loaded draft class, and the only surprise as far as Eddie's concerned is that Steve doesn't go first overall.

CAP-IM Big Bang Big Changes

Hello, Cap-IM diaspora!

We're thrilled to announce sign-ups will soon be open for the 2025 Cap-IM Big Bang. You may have seen our Big Big Bang poll circulate a few months ago soliciting feedback on how we run the event – this poll was beyond fruitful and we’re excited to announce some of the BIG changes we’re implementing this next cycle! Read on for the deets and fill out our interest check if you’re as pumped as we are. 

YOU MUST BE 18 TO PLAY. To safeguard our community spaces and maintain an environment that lets creators create freely, we have transitioned (back) into 18+ standards of community structure. All events going forward will reflect this.  (MUCH) MORE TIME. More words demand more time. We’re revisiting and extending the timeline to plan for fallow periods, creative snafus, the process of writing longer fiction, and real-life demands. We want people to come out of the event feeling good about what they’ve made AND having avoided burnout. Our Big Bang will now run for ~9 months as its own long term animal, concurrent with other Cap-IM events. ANON BEGONE. This was probably the loudest feedback we received: the work of writing longfic is high-faith, low reward and it sucks to not be able to tell anyone about your work in the inception and development stage! In the past we required a cone of silence, but this mod team is less interested in ~mystique~ and more interested in measures that keep you excited about writing your fic. Feel free to seek feedback from friends, discuss your process in public chats, etc.  WIPS AND SEQUELS ALLOWED. We know that longer fic does not spring up in a vacuum! If you have several longish WIPs languishing in a folder somewhere and a genuine desire to revisit them, DO IT. If you’re hyped about it, we’re hyped about it. If you can sculpt it into a 20k project, then we want to see it!  CREATIVE SUPPORT! Creators will have access to synchronous/asynchronous workshops, gatherings, and brainstorming sessions. We know that toiling in complete isolation can be demoralizing, lead to momentum loss, and sap the creative soul. If you need a rubber duck to bounce ideas, a rubber duck you shall have.  MORE ART! Our writers write, on average, ~37k for this event, a full 17k over word minimum (and that’s not including the outliers that stretch into six word-figures). To equalize the energy investment a little bit, artists who select a piece to illustrate will be required to do TWO pieces of art.  NEW CLAIMS PROCESS. We’ll be restricting the # of works artists can claim to make sure that we’re investing our time and energy as fan creators in the things that really spark us. Writers will also have the chance to include a longer sample and more info about their work to make sure everyone is working on projects that they are truly interested in working on.  NEW OPTIONS FOR FAILURE. If the worst happens, and you have to drop out, fear not. You can roll your project over into the next calendar cycle. Pinch hitters for both artist and writer will also be available!

Who: Open Where: The Conclave

Port Leiry is one of those places that seems to change every time she leaves, yet remains entirely the same in many ways. On the surface, details morph and faces shift, but the horror that lies underneath is ever present. It's partially why Leone established the city as her home. When she heard about the Conclave being held here, she considered it a lucky coincidence. Her fingers drum along the marble-carved bar as she flags down one of the compelled servers. "An old-fashioned if you please, don't skimp on the bourbon." She smooths a hand down the human's face and pats it gently. "Drop a little of your own blood in there before you bring it back. From your wrist is fine." As she watches the server walk away to fetch her drink, she meets the eye of the person next to her. "Oh, don't give me that look. They regenerate the stuff."
