Why a Career Accelerator Program in Singapore Could Be the Boost You’ve Been Waiting For
Feeling stuck in your job? Sending out application after application with little response? You’re not alone. In a competitive market like Singapore—where industries evolve quickly and the talent pool is top-notch—navigating your next career move can be tough.
That’s where a Career Accelerator Program comes in. And no, it’s not just another course with buzzwords and vague advice. It’s a targeted, practical, and proven way to move forward with purpose.
So, what is a Career Accelerator Program?
At its core, it’s a structured coaching and strategy programme for professionals who are ready to grow. Whether you’re shifting careers, re-entering the workforce, or eyeing a promotion, the programme offers personalised support to help you reach those goals faster.
Think one-on-one coaching, real-time feedback, resume and LinkedIn optimisation, and step-by-step guidance—tailored to your goals, experience, and industry.
And if you’re in Singapore, you’ll benefit from the programme’s local expertise. Career coaches here understand how recruitment works across the city-state’s MNCs, SMEs, government-linked companies, and startups. They’ll help you position yourself effectively in a uniquely demanding market.
Why Singapore Professionals Need This More Than Ever
Let’s face it: Singapore’s job market is dynamic but also highly competitive. Employers want adaptable, digitally literate talent. While upskilling through initiatives like Skills Future is a great start, many professionals don’t know how to translate those credentials into real career progress.
That’s where this kind of coaching becomes powerful. It bridges the gap between learning skills and applying them strategically. It’s about knowing when to pivot, how to communicate your value, and what steps will actually move the needle.
Results, Not Just Motivation
A Career Accelerator Program isn’t fluff. Past participants have:
Moved into leadership roles faster
Successfully switched industries
Landed roles at global companies
Gained confidence to start new ventures
In Singapore’s fast-paced, high-performance culture, this kind of progress matters. It saves you time, energy, and frustration.
Is It Worth It?
Absolutely—especially if you’re ready to invest in yourself. Staying in a role that drains you or navigating the job market alone can be more costly in the long run than a short-term coaching programme.
With a tailored roadmap, expert feedback, and actionable tools, you gain clarity and confidence. That shows up in interviews, networking, and everyday professional life. Employers notice, and opportunities follow.
Who Should Join?
Mid-career professionals feeling stagnant
Career changers unsure how to pivot
Stay-at-home parents re-entering the job market
Fresh grads who want to start strong
It’s ideal for anyone ready to take action—and especially relevant in Singapore’s future-focused economy.
Getting Started
It usually starts with a free consult. From there, your coach builds a personalised plan. Many programmes are flexible, offering virtual and in-person sessions to fit busy Singaporean schedules.
Whether you’re in finance, tech, healthcare, education, or public service, a Career Accelerator can be the strategic edge you need.
Final Takeaway
If you’re waiting for the right opportunity to come to you, you might be waiting a long time. But with the right guidance, tools, and mindset—you can create it. That’s what the Career Accelerator Program by TP Career Coach is all about.📌 Ready to take that step? Connect with TP Career Coach via the website or drop a WhatsApp message to +65 8134 6434. Your next move could be the best one yet.

How Old? (LH44) [Blind Items AU]

(Part 7 in the Blind Items AU [can be read separately]) Summary: A driver, unknown to the public, seems to have found himself a younger girlfriend. There isn't anything morally (nor legally) wrong with the relationship, and the pair are doing quite well in their private bliss, but the internet likes to insert itself in other's business. Luckily, Lewis is doing too good to care about what the internet has to say.
‘Young, dumb, impressionable girls who don’t know any better’. Lewis laughed at the thought.
He had met his girlfriend 3 years ago when she was 24, because no, she wasn’t 25. They had immediately clicked, being introduced by a mutual friend. His girl had just finished getting her PhD in child psychology, because she was far from a ‘dumb girl’. She had accelerated in her schooling from the time she started school. She worked with special programs to continuously learn at her level, not her age level. The party they met at was her graduation party that Lewis’ friend had invited him to, thinking the two would go well together.
Lewis would be lying if he said her age wasn’t something he considered when they both began to like each other. But it was more so that they were in very different stages career-wise. She was in a transitional period from school to practicing, and with the upcoming move to Ferrari, Lewis didn't know what his future looked like. How could they make a relationship work when their careers were their highest priority?
So they didn’t date, remaining ‘friends’ and seeing each other whenever possible.
That was until around a year after they met.
One night, after Lewis had been having one of the best racing seasons in a while, and after she had been succeeding in her clinical trials, proving just how much this was the perfect path for her, Lewis came over to celebrate.
Tensions had been building up since they had agreed to keep it friendly because they simply couldn’t commit to a relationship right now. That night though, it reached its peak.
Neither had been drinking, drunk purely on lust. After two hours of dinner and good conversation, one experimental kiss led to another, which led to a longer kiss, then full on making out, until the two were in a frenzy of trying to take the others’ clothes off as fast as humanly possible.
That night then led to a weird period for the two. They cared for each other deeply, talked like a couple, acted like a couple, but when asked by friends on the status of their relationship, it was simply a friendship with ‘hot and passionate’ sex on the side.
Nothing more, even though they both wanted so much more. But they refused to talk about committing again.
That was till she found out she was pregnant.
They had been careful, condoms and birth control, but it was just some freak accident, or a blessing.
She couldn’t tell Lewis for about a month, as he was on a triple header in F1 which thankfully ended in summer break.
By then, she had enough time to sit and think about what she wanted. It wouldn’t be easy, both their careers are demanding. If it was anyone but him, she would have had way more doubt in her partner’s ability to balance both, but she had no doubt Lewis would be anything but an amazing father.
She was about 9 weeks when she saw him again. They had made plans to go on vacation for a week during the break (supposedly as friends, even though Lewis had booked them a honeymoon suite), so she knew she had to ask right away, before they went on vacation. The last thing she needed was things going wrong and being stuck in the South of France, pregnant, with a man who didn’t want to be a father.
“I’m pregnant.” She blurted out the moment she opened the door.
They both stared at each other wide eyed. She hadn’t meant to say it straight away.
Instead of clarifying, she immediately turned around and went to the kitchen. Lewis reluctantly followed, confused as to if she wanted to talk to him at the moment.
She refused to look at him, busying herself with getting plates and utensils for the takeout Lewis had picked up.
“Are we- are we going to talk about it?” He asked. She turned around to finally look at him, seeing as he slowly walked towards her with his hands in the air.
“God, Lewis, I am pregnant, not a kicked puppy, I'm not going to bite if you come near me.” He quickly put his hands down.
Silence fell as they both looked at each other, wishing the other one would talk first. When that didn’t happen, they both gave in, speaking over each other. “No- sorry you first.” He said.
“No, no its okay you can go.”
Once again they were both silent, til they both chose the exact same time to speak. It was thankfully what the situation needed. They laughed, immediately severing the tension and awkwardness in the room.
As they finally calmed down, Lewis said, “So… what are we going to do?”
No ‘what are you going to do’, no immediate shut down. She was once again grateful that out of all people in the world, it was Lewis who was by her side.
“Its… hard and most would say it is not the right time for either of us. But I want to be a mother, and I want to do so now.”
“Okay, do you still need time to think or-”
“No, no- I have had a month to think and my decision hasn’t changed since the moment I found out.”
Now was the most stressful part, waiting for what he would say, how he would react.
“Then we can make this work, we can find a way around any complications. There is no one I’d rather do this with, honey.”
The two of them sat in silence, but it was a comfortable silence, both envisioning the future they were going to work for, a future they were going to achieve no matter what.
That had been almost two years ago, and they had been happy and in love ever since. Even more so when their healthy baby girl was born.
A content smile covered Lewis’ face as his girlfriend walked in, holding their daughter.
“What’s got you so happy?”
“Just my two wonderful girls.” He responded.
She rolled her eyes, “Such a sap you old man. Will you please come help me build the chair for the baby’s room now?”
Happy to oblige, Lewis shut his phone and got up to help his girlfriend, completely forgetting about what the internet had to say about his private life.

As a Crewel lover, I must confess they botched his age kind of. Like When was he supposed to have this illustrious fashion career? Now that there's apparently higher education in Twisted Wonderland, like does he have like a bachelors? His masters? Did he get a PhD? Which in theory he could do in like 6 years in a UK system, but like then she started at NRC at 26? Or is he teaching at NRC with just his NRC education. And then went right into fashion for a few years and then continued his education. Like I love him but idk if it make sense why he's so young.
There has always been higher level education alluded to in Twst. For example, Riddle’s parents are both medical mages and Azul’s stepfather is an attorney, and NRC is said to employ counselors, a school nurse, and former five star chefs. I doubt these particular careers could be carried out effectively with only a high school level education. I also doubt that private arcane academies as illustrious as NRC or RSA would hire instructors that only had a high school education and no formal teaching degree or even work experience. We learn in Trein’s Strict Suit vignettes that he, even with his many years of teaching and teaching at THE Night Raven College, his job applications to RSA were repeatedly rejected. If the bar is set that high (assumedly for both schools), then there is absolutely no chance in hell Crewel would be even looked at without the proper credentials to be leading a classroom.
According to Crewel’s official in-game profile, he is currently 32 years old. In the main story, we’re currently on Silver’s birthday (May 15), meaning that Crewel, born April 20th, is technically 33 since the ages on their profiles were the characters’ ages at the start of the school year in September.

We learn in Crewel’s Rich Fur Coat vignettes that this school year makes it his 6th year teaching at NRC. This means he would have started teaching around 26-27 years of age.
Since we know Crewel was a NRC graduate, he was 19-20 at the end of his 4th year. It would take him another 4 years to get his bachelor’s (I assume perhaps in fashion?), or perhaps he immediately went into a fashion apprenticeship using connections + experience from his 4th year internships. This would give him anywhere from 2-7 years’ worth of time in the fashion industry, which would grant him time to work on a number of collections (a single one takes roughly 6-12 months to complete). Then it would take Crewel another 2 years for his master’s, which would be required for teaching. A PhD (which would take 4-7 more years) is NOT necessary for the vocational high school level, only for like… tenured university professors. I know the terminology is a little confusing since NRC is called a “college” in both EN and JP (it’s actually more of a high school according to Yana’s own words) and instructors are called “professors” in EN only (the original JP text calls the instructors 先生/sensei/teacher and not 教授/kyōju/professor), but I don’t believe Crewel has a doctorate/PhD. He does mention that students are only allowed to brew potions under the supervision of a “licensed professional”, but this “license” could have been earned while on his master level educator’s track (licenses are sometimes already “built in” to the studies) and not necessarily require additional time after earning his teaching degree. He’d be 26-27 by then, at which point he’d start teaching at NRC (assuming he got hired immediately).
Of course, this is assuming that Crewel did not take any accelerated tracks. There are programs out there which would allow him to graduate with a teaching degree in less time, albeit at the tradeoff of a more intensive workload. It’s possible that he took this route!
There’s also another possible direction we could take: that Crewel never had a formal or extensive career in fashion. He states in his vignettes that fashion is something he considers “a hobby” (though this could just refer to him remaining a consultant to brands in his free time). His referring to “working for an apparel brand” is also vague enough to mean an internship he held in the past or working part time while studying for his teaching degree. There’s many different ways to interpret his words!
In conclusion, I do think it could (plausibly) make sense that Crewel is “so young” yet he still has had experience in the fashion industry and earned a teaching degree in the time between graduating from NRC to now.

missed my heart

pairing: nurse!sukuna x patient!reader word count: 4.9k content: sukuna is mean but a secret softie what's new, mentions of shootings, violence, this would definitely land him a meeting with HR irl but who cares, FLUFF
nurse!sukuna who scares the shit out of all his patients.
He was most definitely the last person anyone would have ever assumed would go into a field centered around helpingvulnerable people. Hell— it surely wasn't his first career choice, but when his brother and sister-in-law died, he suddenly had a lot more to worry about than just himself.
It took a lot of internal arguments with himself, still grappling with the loss of the only family he'd ever known, and now he had a six year old to take care of as well.
nurse!sukuna who came to the begrudging realization that his preferred method of making a living that typically consisted of underground gambling, the occasional gig as a temporary hit man, and messing around with the wrong crowd definitely was not going to work anymore with this toddler waiting up for him every night.
He threw himself into researching professions that would afford him and his nephew a comfortable life— one where he could still make ends meet while having enough time to be present in Yuuji's life.
nurse!sukuna who realized in the midst of his frantic research that he could make a hell of a decent pay as a nurse while only working three days a week thanks to those brutal twelve hour shifts.
nurse!sukuna who had barely a high school education under his belt working his ass off threatening people to do his work for him trying to pass the prerequisites he needed in order to get into an accelerated nursing program.
He figured he'd have to cheat his way through nursing school, already having learned through his extensive research that the program was not for the faint of heart, and he essentially wouldn't have a life for the next eighteen months. At the very least, he had enough money stashed away to be able to focus on school for a while without completely drowning in bills. Of course, a big chunk of that savings went to paying for a damn near round the clock babysitter for his nephew.
There was no other way around it though, what with the countless three plus hour classes, the clinicals, the exams— Sukuna truly did not have a life any longer.
nurse!sukuna who, at the very least, was slowly realizing that there was no need for him to bully a classmate into giving him their study guides or paying someone to complete his grueling care plans for him— because he was actually getting it. Not only that, but he was kicking ass in nursing school.
Not even in a million years would he have guessed the learning about sepsis and arrhythmias would actually peak his interest, but he found the meticulousness of it all utterly fascinating. Sure, the long hours were beating his ass, but at least he wasn't completely miserable.
nurse!sukuna who finished his program at the top of his cohort and had no issue landing a residency in the trauma unit of a local hospital. Well— perhaps no issue was a stretch. The interview panel were definitely hesitant when the intimidatingly large and tattooed man sat down before them, wondering what a vulnerable patient might feel with thiswalking in as their nurse.
nurse!sukuna who put all their doubts to rest when he answered all their questions with flying colors, spit firing through their case study examples with an ease that even some of their more seasoned nurses couldn't pull off.
nurse!sukuna who quickly made a name for himself on the unit following the end of his residency.
The entire staff feared him— CNAs, unit secretaries, hell even some of the doctor's feared what might happen to them if they didn't put in the orders for Sukuna's patient's meds quick enough. He paid them no mind though, because he was making an honest living for once with four days to spare every week for his own life.
nurse!sukuna who became the go-to dump for the unit's more... difficult patients. If he noticed, he certainly didn't make any complaints. He knew he had an assertive air that got him farther with his patients than most of the other nurses who were too scared to put their foot down.
nurse!sukuna who had had HR called on him more times than he could count thanks to his... cold and abrupt approach with his patients. Each case was always dismissed though, because despite the fact that the patients might not like his firm attitude, they all received excellent care from him, and the unit knew firing him would be too great of a skill loss.
nurse!sukuna who had grown used to his coworkers coming to him to set their patients straight.
They didn't want to take their meds? Sukuna just had to cross his arms at their bedside with that daring look in his eyes and down the hatch those sleeping pills were going.
Male patient was getting frisky with some of the female nurses? Sukuna would insist that they switch assignments, because he'd love to see that bastard trying to grope at his ass while keeping his round the clock pain meds.
nurse!sukuna who's assistance was requested for a gun-shot victim who was refusing to let phlebotomy draw her blood for their routine checks.
He sighed, saving the charting he had been catching up on at the station before stretching from his rolling chair. The endless popping of his joints had onlookers staring over in concern, though everyone knew not to stare too long lest he snap at them.
Sanitizing his hands at the door, Sukuna's lips remained in a firmly set line as he strolled into your hospital room. You were staring blankly at the window by your bed despite the fact that one of the staff members had turned the small television on for you at the beginning of their shift.
Of course, no one liked hospitals, much less being stuck in one for days on end, but the bullet wound in your chest definitely didn't make matters any easier.
You had been in the wrong place at the wrong time— at least that's what everyone told you in a half-hearted attempt to urge you to accept the past that you couldn't change, but none of their reaffirming words would rid you of the memory of the piercing gun-shot ringing through your ears that night.
Gang violence is what the police had chalked it up to, almost as a means to clean their hands of the situation. You could hardly blame them for not wanting to get involved. After all, more than half of the time, each person that got caught meddling within their affairs often ended up dead or... in the trauma unit at the hospital wondering why the fuck they didn't just take the train home instead of walking through a bad part of town late at night.
Your head shifted at the sound of nearing footsteps, and you had to stop yourself from rolling your eyes in frustration. The action froze midway into your skull upon seeing the specimen that had walked in.
nurse!sukuna who looked way too devilishly handsome for someone who was already seven hours into his twelve hour shift.
His black scrub top strained against his bulging chest and biceps, threatening to pop at any moment if he should make too abrupt of a movement. It was tucked neatly into his matching, jogger-style bottoms that tied at his waist and accentuated his lean figure, and you had to remind yourself to look up lest he caught you gawking at him.
"How many phlebotomists does this place have?" You grumbled rhetorically as your fingers fisted into the stiff sheets below you anxiously.
"Not a phlebotomist, princess." He quipped with a click of his tongue, examining the way your body seemed to ease up at that reassurance. "You giving these people a hard time? They don't get paid enough to put up with your bullshit. So, why don't you give them your damn arm and let them help you, alright?"
Your cheeks heated at his sharp criticism. The last thing on your mind was trying to give the staff attempting to help you a hard time, but you were sure your veins would collapse if you let another one of them poke aimlessly at you for twenty minutes again. Turning your face back toward the window, you chewed on your bottom lip, crossing your arms carefully around your bandaged chest.
nurse!sukuna who actually thought he felt the strangest glimmer of remorse sting at his chest at your mumbled explanation.
"They keep saying I'm a hard stick. One of them was digging a needle around in my arm for ten minutes this morning instead of just looking for a different vein."
His ruby eyes drifted down to the slightly concealed crease of your arms where there were countless, deep purple hematomas lining the area. Hard stick or not, whichever dumbass phlebotomist that was on shift this morning seriouslydid a number on your veins. Clicking his tongue in aggravation, he made no explanation as he strode out of your room.
nurse!sukuna who returned to your room only five minutes later with the blood draw supplies in tow.
You shifted uncomfortably on the bed at the sight of the capped needle sitting menacingly in the plastic tray alongside the sample tubes. As he began snapping on a pair of rubber gloves, you quickly shook your head in protest.
"I told them I don't want to be stuck anymore." You insisted, though your voice was wavering with subtle panic at the memory of the needle digging through your already sore arms. "Blame me, say I refused."
Setting down the tray at the bedside table, the nurse crossed his swelled arms over his broad chest. The expression on his handsome face was ever-unimpressed, but there was an underlying determination hidden within his gaze.
"Like hell you refused." He grumbled as he raised the bed for better leverage. "Tell you what, if I don't get you on my first try I'll document your refusal request myself."
With an apprehensive gulp, you sized up the intimidating man. He by no means had the presence of someone delicate enough to handle a blood draw with the type of intricacy that the task called for. Still, if he agreed to document your refusal, the phlebotomy team would at the very least leave you and your poor veins alone for the day. Your teeth sunk into your inner cheek before offering the most subtle of nods in agreement.
nurse!sukuna who exhibited far more patience than you would have hoped to give him credit for as he reached for your wrist to outstretch your arm for him to see.
He shook his head disapprovingly at the countless bruises that marked the previously failed attempts.
"Make a fist for me." He ordered lowly as his warm, gloved hand still gripped at your wrist. The other flicked at your forearm in an attempt to find a vein. With a firm hum, he made quick work to tie the tournaqnuette just above your elbow before wiping at his chosen area with an alcohol pad. The sight of the thin needle alone as he uncapped it was enough to make you lightheaded, that queasy sensation settling at the pit of your stomach.
Glancing up at you and taking note of the paleness that had suddenly befallen your expression, he handed you a fresh alcohol pad.
"Breathe that in before you pass out on me."
nurse!sukuna who paid you no mind as you looked up at the ceiling, eyes squeezed shut as he carefully slid the needle into your arm. You held your breath as he slowly advanced it, waiting for the inevitable digging to start.
It never came though, and after only a second or two, the nurse was snapping the tourniquet off your arm and twisting on the sample tube to collect the blood flowing freely from the vein that he'd found on his first try.
He tried to appear nonchalant, but the awestruck expression on your scratched up face warmed his ice-cold heart. The nurse made a mental note to check who the fuck the phlebotomist on shift was this morning so he could bitch them out.
Once the final tube was filled, he carefully slid the needle out and placed it in the forgotten tray while holding pressure on the minimally bleeding puncture site. His forefinger and thumb wrapped easily around your arm with a firm grip on the cotton ball as he grabbed a bandaid to hold it in place.
nurse!sukuna who winked knowingly at you as he snapped his gloves off and tossed them expertly into the trash bin across the room. Collecting the tray with the over samples, he glanced over his shoulder on his way out.
"And if that bruises, I owe you a shitty cafeteria ice cream."
nurse!sukuna who saw that they had put you onto his assignment the next morning, already having deemed you a 'difficult patient' that apparently had become his specialty. He had half a mind to tell them that you weren't difficult, you were just tired of being poked and prodded at.
Still, he didn't mind having you on his assignment, so he didn't bother raising a fuss about it either way.
nurse!sukuna who found himself eager to come greet you that morning with an I told you so smirk because of the bruise he didn't have to check your arm to know wasn't present.
Upon entering your room after a warning knock at your door though, he found you still fast asleep. Humming softly to himself, he tore his gaze away from your sleeping form to replace the night shift nurse's name and pager number on your whiteboard with his own.
He quietly made his way over to your bedside to replace the saline bag on your IV pole that had run out. You stirred softly as he continued his routine checks, or as much of it he could do while you were sleeping. Given the nature of your injury and trauma, Sukuna wasn't sure when the last time you were able to sleep so soundly.
nurse!sukuna who shot straight up out of his spot at his charting computer when he saw phlebotomy making their way to your room just a short two hours later.
Scrambling to save his progress, he made quick work of barging into the room just as you had begun to protest the samephlebotomist that fucked your arm up the day prior. Spotting that familiar head of pink hair over his shoulder, there was a palpable relief glimmering in your eyes.
"I'll take care of it." He said simply, holding his hand out expectantly at the startled phlebotomist. "Didn't know they were hiring fucking dimwits in this place."
He knew he'd surely be getting another complaint filed against him, but he couldn't bring himself to care as he caught sight of your grateful expression, the soft smile you were attempting to hide breaking through your dry lips.
nurse!sukuna who made sure to use your other arm in order to give the one he'd poked yesterday a break. After having looked over your chart, he knew you had frequent lab checks, so the least he could do was make it as tolerable as possible.
Much like yesterday, the sight of the needle still had you squirming uncomfortably in the stiff hospital bed. Sukuna huffed out a dry chuckle, shaking his head as he advanced the needle.
"Are you laughing at me?" You squeaked out, eyes still turned toward the ceiling so you wouldn't fall sick at the sight of your own blood.
"You got shot in the fucking chest but can't handle a butterfly needle?"
nurse!sukuna who kept forgetting to watch his sailor mouth when he was on the clock, but hey— it made you laugh.
nurse!sukuna who's interest had been peaked that morning as he was reading over your chart and discovered your admission paperwork, learning that you had come in for a gun-shot wound following a gang related incident. The bullet had grazed your heart, hence the need for such an emergent, invasive surgery that was evident in the fresh, straight scar running down your chest.
Sure, he had left all of that behind after taking Yuuji in, it had been years, but he still couldn't help but want more information. What he was going to do with it? God only knew.
"Gonna have to do some wound care on you soon, too." Sukuna prefaced as he finished up drawing your labs.
The thought had you flustered, even if you knew this was a professional. Sure, he'd likely seen more chests than he could ever care to wish for in his lifetime thanks to his field of work, but it didn't make the prospect of this way too hot for his own good man seeing you so exposed any less intimidating.
You should have ripped the stupid stickers connecting you to your heart monitor off your chest when you had the chance, because the anticipation of the moment alone was causing that embarrassing beeping to sound off again from your gown.
Taking a few deep breaths and glancing away from him, it luckily steadied out just as he pulled the box up to inspect it once again with furrowed brows.
nurse!sukuna who came back almost an hour later with various supplies in tow to do his job as you had been dreading for the past sixty-four minutes.
nurse!sukuna who, despite his typical, sharply astute nature, remained completely oblivious when your heart monitor spiked in tandem with your loosening the ties on your gown as he busied himself with prepping the supplies so as to provide you some privacy.
“Your nurse yesterday didn’t call in a cardio consult for you?” He questioned mainly to himself, recalling the fact that you had been slightly tachycardic yesterday as well. Making a mental note to make the call himself, he hummed when your timid voice informed him that you were ready.
Your hands were clutching your gown anxiously over your breasts as well as you could while still allowing him access to the wound site that was residing just above your right breast.
Wanting to make this as quick as possible in order to cut your discomfort of being exposed in front of a stranger short, Sukuna made quick work to carefully undress your wound. The entire surrounding area was a grueling, greenish-yellow hue, but that was to be suspected with an incident so recent.
nurse!sukuna who was no stranger to gunshot wounds given the crowds he used to get himself involved in back in the day, but the sight of one on someone as unsuspecting as you made his jaw clench.
Perhaps it was the fact that he knew it was gang-related that irked him so deeply as he cleaned the site as gently as a man so large could possibly manage.
The nurse knew how these sorts of things went. The police never wanted to touch that side of town, someone always knowing somebody else, or that people who were meant to be protecting the little guys were too fearful of getting involved. They would tell you that they were working diligently to apprehend the individuals at fault, but nothing would happen— no justice would be brought to you.
You who he thinks is the first person in a long time to have been comforted by his presence rather than scared by it. You who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. You who’s sweet and timid smile those assholes would never have the pleasure of seeing because there were never any repercussions for their actions.
You who could be brought to justice with just one phone call to the right person who Sukuna knew he could find with just a few minutes of concentrated searching.
nurse!sukuna who hadn’t felt the urge to have someone else’s blood on his hands if weren’t to help them in so long, but he could practically feel the substance crusting deliciously under his fingernails and into the crevices of his knuckles now as he thought about how satisfying it might be to call in one last favor.
nurse!sukuna who has to pull himself from his murderous thoughts when he heard your voice cut through the haze of his imagination to ask how much longer this would take.
“You bossing me around now?” He huffed in feigned annoyance, but the mirth hidden beneath his eyes gave him away. “Don’t forget who’s the only bastard here who’s been able to find your worm-ass veins.”
You attempted a breathy laugh at his mocking, but you found it difficult to release anything but a pathetic, choked gasp as his head dipped down to get a better angle of his work. Catching a waft of his subtle cologne, it was becoming increasingly impossible to not act like you’d never been touched by a man before.
Still, the pink-haired man didn’t catch on, too focused on assuring each nook and cranny of your wound was cleaned lest you become septic on his watch to notice your flaming cheeks.
nurse!sukuna who’s movements paused altogether when your traitorous monitor began going ballistic once again just as soon as his hand grazed too close to the swell of your breast by accident.
He blinked slowly, his ruby irises seeming to move in slow motion as they shifted from where his hand had wandered to the small box monitor resting just beside you.
“...Oh.” Was all he said.
You held your breath, hoping his abrupt halt was due to his concern for your cardiac health. Those prayers were in vain though, because after only a few seconds, he looked back up at you with the most infuriating of knowing glints glimmering in his prepossessing eyes.
Gulping down the anxious lump in your throat, your eyes immediately shifted in an attempt to escape his rapturous gaze, landing on the tiled ceiling above your head.
“Hm,” Sukuna hummed in amusement, finally tearing his eyes from your flushed face to begin putting down some fresh gauze. “Gotta say, I didn’t think I was your type.”
“Oh, please,” Your nervous scoff wasn’t at all convincing, but you were grasping at straws here. “You’re the only person I’ve seen in days that isn’t over forty or collapsing my veins.”
“So, if the phlebotomist was hot, I wouldn’t be here right now? That what you’re saying, princess?”
“Please either finish this or pull my plug and leave me to die here.” You begged as the back of your head hit the pillow so you wouldn’t have to look him in the eyes.
“You’re not on life-support, dumbass.” Sukuna quipped with a smirk, but, despite his teasing, worked quickly and efficiently to secure the fresh gauze around your wound before tossing the used supplies into the bin. “All done.”
“Thank you.” You managed to breathe out even through the tremble in your tone, quickly moving to shrug your arms back into your gown.
Still unable to look him in the eyes, your breath hitched when you felt his cold hands at your nape, tying the back of your gown so you didn’t try to lift your arms above your head and pop a stitch. Despite having his literal job on his defense, you couldn’t help but feel as though he was doing it on purpose now, given the deep chortle that reverberated within his chest at the sound of your heart racing out of your ribcage once again.
“Don’t think of me too much while I’m gone.” The nurse mocked as he sanitized his hands on his way out before throwing a mischievous wink over his shoulder. “Wouldn’t wanna have to call a code on you.”
nurse!sukuna who notoriously never picked up overtime, marching over to the charge nurse as soon as his shift ended to let them know that he could come in tomorrow if they needed the help— with the exception that he could keep his same assignment, of course.
And, let’s be real, when didn’t they need the help?
nurse!sukuna who would drop whatever he was doing when it was time to draw your labs, because he’d be damned if someone was going to mark you up again on his watch. Phlebotomy had already stopped bothering to pass by your room, opting to simply leave your needed lab tubes at the station by Sukuna’s computer. It didn’t matter if he was drowning in work, he would always somehow find the spare five minutes if it meant making you more comfortable.
nurse!sukuna who would come back early from his lunch to spend the remainder of his break with you under the guise of doing a routine vitals check. Nevermind the fact that you had informed him through fierce confusion that the nursing assistant had just checked you only an hour prior.
“You telling me how to do my job?”
nurse!sukuna who scoffed out in frustration upon noticing that you had only been barely picking at your food trays, though he could hardly blame you— feeding this shit to human beings should be considered cruel and unusual punishment. Despite his understanding, he would adamantly hover in your room until you at least finished your protein.
“This ain’t a fuckin’ hotel— eat your dry ass chicken.”
nurse!sukuna who would still sneak you in sandwiches from the employee cafe when your meals would look particularly gruelling.
“Quit looking at me like that. I want you to go home, I’m sick of seeing your sorry ass on my assignment.”
He left out the part where he just wanted you to get better so he could slip his phone number onto your discharge paperwork, and maybe he could meet you over coffee that didn’t have to be decaffeinated per your nutrition plan. Seeing you everyday wasn’t so bad though.
nurse!sukuna who pushed you to get out of bed everyday, even if you were digging angry, red crescents into the flesh of his arm as you looped around the room.
“I feel like everything winds me.” You would sigh out through tears of frustration.
“Don’t be a pussy.” He would always reply, but the ice cream he would always inevitably sneak into your room later on in the day let you know that he was proud of you, even if he had a funny way of showing it.
nurse!sukuna who ran into your room when the nurse call button above your door started blinking— because you never called for anything.
“You okay?” His words nearly slurred together as he burst into the room, his brows drawn so fiercely together that they were practically kissing.
You were perched calmly on your bed though, the head raised up so that you were in a sitting position that he insisted you remain in unless you were sleeping. There was a palpable excitement etched onto your expression, albeit shocked, but happy nonetheless. Looking over at him eagerly, you nodded toward the small television screen on the far wall of the hospital room.
Trying to calm his racing nerves from the scare you had just given him, he slowly trekked farther into the room to stand at your bedside as he looked up at the news you seemed so excited about.
“The fuck am I looking at?” The nurse deadpanned, his ruby eyes scrutinizing the various police cars surrounding a dingy looking apartment building as depicted on the screen.
“They caught him!” You babbled incredulously, and the elation in your tone made him tear his eyes from the television to see how that joy would manifest on that sweet face of yours. Fluttering your gaze between the screen and your nurse, you blinked back the relieved tears that threatened to spill from your waterline. “The guy that shot me. They said an anonymous tip was sent in with information of all the people involved in that gang.”
He only hummed, but there was a faint smirk of satisfaction tugging at the corners of his lips.
nurse!sukuna who may or may not know why that tip wasn’t as anonymous as you believed it to be.
“You called me in here for this?” He grumbled in feigned annoyance, but even you could see right through his cool facade. “Thought you were finally going into cardiac arrest at the thought of me.”
“Sorry…” Your voice trailed bashfully as you looked down at your blanket-covered lap. His heart stirred at the shade of red quickly swirling onto your cheeks. “I just… just thought you’d wanna know.”
Clicking his tongue softly, he pushed off the side rail that he’d been leaning on, taking you by surprise when he grasped at the nape of your neck. With a gentle tug, you were being pulled in closer to him, completely shell-shocked when you felt the warmth of the very lips you had been fantasizing about for nearly a week pressing a chaste kiss to your temple before releasing you all together.
“We can celebrate when you get out of here, yeah?” He quipped with a tender wink and ruffle of your hair.
nurse!sukuna who would definitely miss the way your heart monitor betrayed you each time.
a/n: sorry for such a short post after being away for a while, I'm getting back into the swing of things and hope you still like it :')

I think Hux knows that despite Snoke's own abuses towards him, Snoke was the one thing that was keeping Kylo Ren's most unhinged behaviors in check. I also believe that Hux strongly suspects that Ren killed Snoke or, at the very least, had a lot to do with it.
The Legacy of Vader spoilers under the cut
Ren's dramatic display of Snoke's body really is driving home Hux's new reality. Hux would have killed Snoke himself if he could have seized power, but Ren accomplished that before he could. This is just as much as display of Ren's power as it is a warning.

Snoke, I'm sure, is a large part of why Hux was able to achieve what he did and rise so quickly through the ranks. I believe Hux is extremely competent. Otherwise, Snoke wouldn't have allowed him to rise so quickly or found him so useful. But I doubt that Hux would have been able to accomplish something so technically challenging as Starkiller if he had to wrangle the rest of the First Order leadership on his own. There is no way Hux isn't aware of how being one of Snoke's favorite pets accelerated his career. And now he is dead.

It also strikes me that these are the storm troopers that were brought up as part of Brendol Hux's child abduction program and later became Hux's storm troopers when the program became his.
So these soldiers cheering on Kylo Ren as he lobs Snoke's corpse out into space really is a major blow to Hux.
Ren has very quickly undercut the power Hux has been cultivating for most of his life. I think that's why he's looking away in this panel. The gravity of what's to come is sinking in. After all, Hux is intimately familiar with what it is like to be powerless among violent men.

Project 2025: A Blueprint for Democracy’s Demise?
What’s Happening?
It’s no longer a warning—it’s reality. Donald Trump has won the presidency, and Project 2025 (also known as the 2025 Presidential Transition Project) is now in full motion. This initiative, designed to reshape the executive branch of the U.S. federal government in the event of a Republican victory in the 2024 election, is no longer just a blueprint—it’s actively transforming the country before our very eyes.
This sweeping political takeover, spearheaded by the Heritage Foundation, is actively dismantling democratic institutions, expanding presidential power, and eroding fundamental rights. The time to stop it has passed—the time to resist is now.
Political scientist Laura Field warned that Project 2025 was never just about conservative policy: “They want to provide President Trump with the tools to overcome, in some cases, the legal or constitutional limits of the executive branch.” Now, those tools are in his hands. Constitutional law expert Erwin Chemerinsky previously called the plan “deeply frightening,” and Joe Biden described it as “the greatest attack on our system of government and personal freedom ever proposed in this country’s history.” Those warnings have become our new reality.
Here’s what is already happening:
50,000 career federal employees have been fired, replaced by hardline Trump loyalists—an unprecedented purge of government professionals.
The Insurrection Act has been invoked, allowing the U.S. military to enforce domestic laws and suppress opposition.
Political opponents are being targeted, with DOJ resources used to investigate and prosecute those who resist the administration.
The Supreme Court’s oversight has been weakened, effectively allowing Trump to rule with minimal checks on his power.
Paul Dans, a key Project 2025 leader, openly stated that they were preparing to “march into office with an army of ideologically aligned conservatives.” That march is over. The takeover is complete.
Why This Should Terrify You
The America you knew is disappearing. Here’s what is already at stake:
Federal Agencies Are Being Dismantled: The Department of Education is being gutted, civil rights protections are vanishing, and agencies that safeguard healthcare and environmental protections are under siege.
The Government Has Become a Propaganda Machine: Career professionals have been replaced with political operatives, ensuring that government agencies now serve only Trump’s interests.
Checks and Balances Are Crumbling: Trump’s power is expanding rapidly, with fewer legal and institutional barriers to stop him.
Dissent Is Being Crushed: Journalists, activists, and political opponents are being targeted, making free speech increasingly dangerous.
Kamala Harris had explicitly warned that Trump had a “detailed and dangerous plan called Project 2025”—and now, he’s executing it.
Why This Matters to You
If you’re a young adult, woman, or member of a marginalized community, you are already feeling the effects of Project 2025:
Your Reproductive Rights Are Disappearing: Nationwide abortion bans and birth control restrictions are being enforced.
Your Education Is Under Attack: Public school and university funding cuts are already affecting accessibility and affordability.
Your Future Is in Danger: Environmental deregulation is accelerating climate change, leaving younger generations to deal with the fallout.
Your Freedom to Be Yourself Is Under Threat: LGBTQ+ rights, racial justice efforts, and diversity programs are being dismantled at a rapid pace.
This is not a distant threat—it’s happening right now. And if you don’t take action, the damage may become irreversible.
The Bigger Picture
What’s happening in the U.S. mirrors global trends—authoritarian leaders are rising, using democratic systems to cement their control. Project 2025 is not just an attack on America’s democracy; it’s part of a worldwide movement to undermine freedom and human rights.
The frightening reality? Once a democracy is dismantled, history shows that it rarely comes back without a fight. The window for reversing this course is closing fast.
What Can You Do?
Stay Informed: Share updates on Project 2025, educate your peers, and spread awareness—knowledge is power.
Support Resistance Movements: Join organizations fighting for civil rights, democracy, and social justice.
Use Your Voice: Social media, protests, community action—speak out before it’s too late.
Prepare for the Worst: Recognize the risks of authoritarian rule and find ways to protect yourself and those around you.
We are no longer on the brink—we are in the crisis. Project 2025 is happening, and the time to resist is now. The question is: What will you do?

From the Racetrack To Space: IWC Schaffhausen and the Polaris Program Give Lewis Hamilton Astronaut Flight Training
Schaffhausen/Qatar, 26th November 2024: In a compelling new short movie produced by IWC Schaffhausen, Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team driver Lewis Hamilton embarks on a flight training for astronauts. The same training was used to prepare the crews of the Inspiration 4 and Polaris Dawn commercial human spaceflight missions. During the training day, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion and IWC brand ambassador was accompanied by students from Dibia DREAM, a non-profit organisation fostering STEM education. Their presence is also a reminder of Lewis Hamilton's own incredible career journey spanning more than three decades and sends an inspiring message: you can be anything you want in life – a pilot on the racetrack, in the air or even in space.
One of the most successful racing drivers of all time, Lewis Hamilton is a multifaceted personality whose interests and ambitions extend far beyond his sport. The seven-time Formula 1 world champion is deeply fascinated by space and human space exploration. He has visited renowned space training facilities and repeatedly expressed his desire to take part in a space mission in the future if it serves a purpose and contributes to the betterment of all humanity. IWC Schaffhausen now teamed up with the Polaris Program and its Philanthropy Director and instructor pilot, John "Slick" Baum, to offer Lewis Hamilton an opportunity to experience the flight training that is part of the organization's programme of preparing astronauts for space. The Polaris Program, which is supported by IWC, recently completed the first of three human spaceflight missions. During their five days in orbit, the Polaris Dawn crew wrote history by successfully performing the first commercial spacewalk.
FLIGHT TRAINING IS ESSENTIAL FOR ASTRONAUTS
Fighter jet training has been at the heart of human spaceflight since the beginning. All early astronauts were fighter jet pilots, and experience in piloting a jet was an essential requirement for going to space. Flight training was also a key pillar in the preparation of the Inspiration 4 and Polaris Dawn crews for their missions. While the g-loads experienced in a jet or a rocket cannot be directly compared, as they affect the body in different ways, jet training still offers compelling benefits for astronauts. Most importantly, it allows the crew members to familiarise themselves with operating in a high-risk and high-consequence environment, similar to what they would experience during launch. While they are pressed down into their seats by several times their own body weight, they have to communicate with each other, go through extensive technical checklists, and monitor critical flight parameters – all while being mentally aware of their surroundings and prepared to act in case something unexpected should happen.
A COMPLETE SEQUENCE OF TRAINING MANOEUVRES
Lewis Hamilton's space training kicked off with an extensive briefing and inspection of the L-39 Albatros jet. John "Slick" Baum gave Hamilton a detailed overview of the manoeuvres they would fly and how they simulate different situations an astronaut experiences during a spaceflight. During their subsequent discovery flight lasting almost one hour, Hamilton and his instructor performed a series of manoeuvres. They practiced accelerations and decelerations to experience lateral g-forces, simulating the ascent of a rocket. They also practiced higher g-loads by banking or pitching the aircraft hard. A highlight was flying a parabola figure for a zero-g demonstration, during which Hamilton briefly experienced the feeling of weightlessness. A racing glove, which eventually began to float freely in the cockpit, was used as a zero-g indicator. In flight, the F1 pilot pulled a maximum of 7.5 g, which is more than astronauts typically experience on ascent. Hamilton wore a dedicated race suit featuring a "space mission" patch with his car number 44. He will wear the same suit during this weekend's race at the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar.
DIBIA DREAM STUDENTS SEND A POWERFUL MESSAGE
The training was also attended by a group of students from Dibia DREAM. This nonprofit organisation sparks social change through STEM education and recreational activities for underserved youth and has impacted the lives of 40,000 students across 32 states and twelve countries. The students spent the entire day engaging in a variety of activities related to space exploration. They also got a chance to meet with Hamilton and ask him questions prior to take-off. Their presence served as a powerful reminder of Hamilton's incredible journey, from his humble beginnings in karting at the age of eight to becoming one of the most acclaimed drivers in the history of motorsport. As the students cheered alongside the runway, they sent an uplifting message to youths around the world: you can be anything you want in life – whether it is a racing driver, a pilot, or even an astronaut.

Sam Gustin at The Nation:
President Trump’s suggestion last month that the tragic Potomac air crash was somehow the fault of disabled federal air traffic controllers was appalling—but it should have come as no surprise. Trump’s contempt for people with disabilities has been well documented, and it’s that animus, combined with the accelerating MAGA assault on diversity throughout the United States, that has disability rights advocates preparing to defend decades worth of hard-won protections. One month into his presidency, Trump has unleashed a government-wide attack on people with disabilities, from anti-diversity executive orders to proposed special-education rollbacks to threats to slash programs like Medicaid that are lifelines for disabled people across the country. If successful, these actions could have catastrophic consequences for millions of Americans, according to disability rights experts. “This is a crisis for the disability community, and the threat is extremely serious,” Maria Town, president and CEO of the American Association of People with Disabilities, told The Nation. “These changes have the potential to erode decades of progress that the disability community has fought tooth and nail to achieve.”
Within 48 hours of taking office, Trump signed two executive orders targeting what he called “illegal” diversity programs—commonly referred to as DEI or DEIA—in both the federal government and the private sector. Trump and his MAGA minions claim that these programs, which promote the worthy goals of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility throughout American society, discriminate against, well, them, and so they should be abolished. At a time when Elon Musk and his DOGE henchmen are racing to “delete” entire federal agencies and fire thousands of government workers, diversity programs have become a convenient target for the drastic budget reductions that Trump seeks—under the bogus guise of “waste, fraud, and abuse”—in order to cut more taxes for rich people and corporations. Hence the MAGA/DOGE crusade to demonize and scapegoat diversity programs for all kinds of calamities, from plane crashes to wildfires to train derailments. Thus far, most of the focus on Trump’s diversity rollback has been on “DEI,” but it’s the “A”—for “accessibility”—that has alarmed disability rights advocates.
“The hard-fought-for acceptance of people with disabilities in society is compromised every time Trump uses DEIA as a bogeyman for everything that’s wrong in society,” said Michael Rembis, a professor of history at the University of Buffalo and director of its Center for Disability Studies. “This purge of federal employees is in part designed to remove people who are perceived to be unproductive for both racist and ableist reasons from the federal government.”
The Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into law by President George H.W. Bush in 1990. Trump’s anti-diversity executive orders roll back more than three decades of US policy since then——including executive orders signed by Clinton, Obama, George W. Bush and Biden—aimed at bringing more people with disabilities into the federal workforce and the private sector. From hiring and job training to career development and workplace accommodation, these policies have given many disabled people new opportunities to thrive, and a new sense of dignity after generations of mistreatment in American society, from ostracization to institutionalization to forced sterilization. Those advances are now at risk, and the impacts are already being felt nationwide, as funding cuts loom for community organizations that provide crucial services and support systems for disabled people, from home modification to job coaching to transportation and personal attendant services. “We’ve heard from many organizations across the country that are having to think about cutting their staff, reducing their services, or even closing their doors,” said Town. Disability rights advocates warn that Trump’s anti-diversity executive orders are just a prelude to even more draconian attacks. For example, Trump’s avowed goal to eliminate the Department of Education could jeopardize special-education programs for roughly 7.5 million students—15 percent of the US student population. Trump’s plan to cut billions in grants issued by the National Institutes of Health threatens long-term research and development focused on life-saving—and life-improving—treatments for millions of Americans. And, of course, any cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and particularly Medicaid—and let’s face it, the GOP wants to eliminate or privatize these programs altogether—will disproportionately affect millions of disabled people who rely on the programs to survive.
[...] The Trump administration’s assault on government policies and programs that benefit disabled people is not just a scheme hatched in the bowels of The Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 anti-government boiler room—although it is that, too. It’s also the natural evolution of Trump’s long-standing prejudice against people with disabilities. Trump’s disdain for disabled people is well known, from mocking reporter Serge Kovaleski and insulting wounded veterans to reportedly telling a relative with a disabled son that “maybe those kinds of people should just die.”
[...] It’s no secret that Trump is obsessed with genetics, as demonstrated by his preoccupation with bloodlines and frequent comments about “good” genes, “bad” genes, “low IQ individuals,” immigrants “poisoning the blood” of America, and other bigoted remarks. In 1988, Trump famously told Oprah Winfrey that people must have “the right genes” to become rich. Since then, he has repeatedly compared his family to purebred “racehorses.” In 2020, Trump again invoked the “racehorse” theory to assure a mostly white Midwestern audience that “you have good genes in Minnesota.” And just last year, he intimated—outrageously—that immigrants commit murder because “it’s in their genes.”
[...] It’s worth noting that disabled people were among the earliest victims of the Holocaust, condemned to death by a Nazi program called Aktion T4, which involved the systematic murder of some 300,000 people in psychiatric hospitals in Germany, Austria, and elsewhere in Europe. Stramondo doesn’t expect anything remotely like that to happen in the United States, but he pointed out that sterilization and murder aren’t the only ways to advance eugenic goals. “You can practice and enforce eugenic ideologies that result in lots of people suffering and even dying just by doing something like eliminating Medicaid,” he said.
The Nation reports on Donald Trump’s attacks on DEIA polices and its impact on persons with disabilities, which goes along with his long record of ableism.

Hi Sarah (or Sara? I remember you discussing the h but don't remember which way it's spelled). I hope you're doing well on your break and enjoying September. I have a question - how much schooling did you have to do to become a nurse? I'm considering becoming an elementary school teacher in Norway, which would require me to go back to school for 5 (additional) years. Seems like a long fucking time and i didnt do great the first run tbh. It would be free though. Investment in the future seems like it could pay off, so i guess im looking for inspiration from other ppl who have perhaps made a similar plunge
Hi, anon! I wish I could give you some straight up inspo. Instead, I navel-gazed for a while. Schooling-wise, I already had a (completely unrelated) bachelor's degree so I was able to do an accelerated nursing program after two semesters of community college doing the prereqs. I did struggle in nursing school. College has always been brutal on my mental health and nursing is a hard pivot from my original degree (double major history and english w a concentration in creative writing) (you cannot imagine how many books I read and essays I wrote). It took a little over two years in total.
You don't have to don't have to worry about student debt which is so so wonderful. I didn't have to either, and that's let me be way more adventurous with my life choices. The cost of your education would just ("just") be your time, energy, and the potential money that you could earn by focusing on work instead. I had to stick around in my hometown instead of going traveling with Cyrus. I worked a lot fewer hours than I would if I'd not been in school. I had to miss the live airing of the Jesus Christ Superstar on NBC in order to study for an anatomy test which was genuinely so distressing to me. 2018 was a hell of a year for me. (I aced that test btw. It was such an improvement over my previous test my teacher emailed me a congratulations note with twelve exclamation points.)
All of this while people were constantly talking about how shitty it is to be a nurse and how so many of them leave the field within six months. (Similar to teaching in that way, at least in America.) I was doing work I didn't enjoy for a job I might not stick with. There were a lot of times I resented nursing school for interfering with my life.
I'm still very glad I did it. My degree gave me a lot. On the very practical side, my degree has given me more financial freedom and a much higher earning potential. On the idealistic level, my degree has enabled me to do work that I find meaningful. The work touches a lot of things that I find interesting. My nursing degree has benefited my life, regardless of if I stay in nursing for the rest of my career or move on to something new. I didn't like getting my degree, but I don't regret that I got it.
Maybe it'll go way easier for you, maybe it won't be worth it. When I thought about becoming a nurse, it felt like my life plan clicked into place because it ticked every single need I had for a job. I didn't know if it would work out, but the rewards outweighed the risks. More than that, it was the first plan I had for my future that made me excited. I liked the life I pictured if I was a nurse. I've found that excitement to be rare and precious. If teaching gives you that, I'd strongly consider pursuing it.
Besides, you can always use my last-line defense against school despair: being like "fuck it I'm gonna drop out after this semester" and then keep not doing that. You can bail on stuff! It's rad.

semi - he is a musician, so i will give him our music major, but he is also a civil servant (yall ignore that a lot), so i give him political science or political economy & public policy
aone - physical science major with either a project management or supply chain management accelerated program worked in
futakuchi - there’s definitely sustainability studies in there, but interestingly, i’d also add physics
koganegawa - i’d say physical science major as part of the dual degree engineering program, adding in the innovation and entrepreneurship minor
kita - most definitely an environmental science and sustainability studies major with a religion studies minor :) (yes i know he specifically says he doesn’t really believe in the gods, but i can’t help but associate him with religion…) i think he’d also be interested in my college’s abroad trip to japan, which focuses on ecology and religion in japan (i really want to go on this trip…)
osamu - easy. business administration.
atsumu - maybe an interesting take, but i’d say psychology. the amount of psychological warfare he tries to use i think is enough explanation.
that’s all for now! let me know if there are more characters you’d like to know about ! i’m having a lot of fun with this so please send in requests 🙏

Thank God it's (T.G.I.) Friday
Y'all remember T.G.I. Fridays?
It's story time Sissy Poohs!
I think this was two Christmas seasons ago.
Y'all know I love being on Holiday. I went back home to spend Christmas and New Years with my family back on the East coast.
Honestly, I don't like going back home too often. Certain aspects of being in my hometown makes me uncomfortable.
"Why does it make you uncomfortable Sarah"?
Since you asked:
Something I have experienced over the last two to three years is running into people I may have went to high school or college with back home who lack ambition and discipline or are just complacent and very content with where they are in life - except when they see me.
I say the following as humbly as possible: I may only be 26, but I have accomplished a tremendous amount in this quarter of a century, by the grace of God.
I graduated college at the age of 21 - Dean's list - with a Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry and a minor in Biology. During my collegiate career, I traveled to Europe as an intern at the University of Science and Technology. I also interned at one of the most profitable Pharmaceutical companies - in the world.
After college, I commissioned in the United States Army as a Chemical Officer and traveled the world. I was living right outside of Seattle, enjoying city life, looking good, smelling better, driving my man's BMW - really giving WAG (Wife and Girlfriend of professional athlete - that's how rich I was looking, okay) for real.
I also received two IT certifications as I was leaving the Army and am currently back in school taking prerequisite courses to enter into an Accelerated Bachelors of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program. Did I mention I got straight A's this semester?
I'm also a home owner, a blogger and fiancée.

Oh, and I brought Sexy back, too. I'm over 20+ pounds down, eating healthy and working out 5-6 times a week.

Maybe its because I am an over achiever but this is really normal tempo to me and I actually feel like I could be doing more. But to people who chose not to do anything with their lives and are stationary, act weird when you pop up.
And to be clear, I don't really care about other people's complacency. But people act so weird when they see you - to a point where it's like "damn, what's good for real".
For example, one night my mom, sister and I went to TGI Friday's to grab a quick bite before heading to the movies.
By the way, I hate chain restaurants. But back in the day, like my high school and even some of my college days, TGI Fridays, Applebees, and Olive Garden used to actually be good. But the quality of the cuisine and and service has severely plummeted. That's why I typically avoid chain restaurants, five star plus, okay?!
Back to Fridays. We're seated by a hostess and the waitress was suppose to be someone I went to middle and high school with. But from what I could see, she saw me and asked another waitress to take the table. And no, it wasn't because she was busy; we were one of maybe three families seated.
Now for context. I was bullied a lot in middle school - which I'm not mad about because I feel like it helped me build character, personality and also taught me how to stand up for myself.
The waitress who avoided waiting on us like a coward, was one of those bullies.
I don't know if my success, or how beautiful I looked or even her own insecurities finally slapped the hell out of her, but she was visually in dismay.
Mind you, I'm very classy, so I said nothing. I informed my mom and my sister about the incidents that occurred in grade school and how she left me alone once I became a cheerleader on the high school team. When I first made the junior high team in the seventh grade - it was no longer bullying per say, but more of taunting, like "oh so you think you're something because you're a cheerleader"? I never said anything like that, but she obviously did since she paid so much attention to it.
Fast forward about ten years later, I'm just back home for the holiday to visit my sister and mother. I moved away a long time ago.
I don't use Facebook as much, but I made my Facebook back in high school, meaning people I went to school with were Facebook friends with me. The very few times I go on there to check on family members the I may not get a chance to talk with as often, I see what everyone has been up to, or lack of movement actually.
Everyone (not really everyone, but a lot of people) is either in jail, a single mother, crashing out and looking terrible or reminiscing about junior high or high school which is wild to me. I wouldn't say I didn't have fun in high school, like come on, I was on the varsity cheerleading team since I was a freshman, I had fun.

But high school is not the highlight of my life. Like let's be for real: I look back at my pictures from high school, and even college like "eew". Not because I was ugly, but that was a while back where how I dressed, did my hair and makeup, you couldn't pay me to look like that anymore. It's called evolving. And as great as my life has been, I still don't actually feel like I have experienced the best days of my life yet. Not because I am not grateful, but because I do know and believe I haven't reached my fullest potential yet. I'm headed in the right path, but there are still better days to come. And in the words of my fiancé, "life begins at 40".
Back to homegirl.
After she avoided me the whole time, I went to the restroom because I needed to use the bathroom, obviously. As I am leaving the bathroom, homegirl runs into me, and couldn't even look me in my face as she was saying "excuse me".
Again, I don't know if it was jealousy, hate, or maybe even guilt. Homegirl was really mean to me - for no reason. Now that I am older, and understand why people, girls and women specifically, act the way they do, she probably had a lot going on at home and the only way she could get attention was to be the school mean girl, loud, boisterous, and hella ghetto. Does that pardon her behavior, no. And I honestly forgot about her halfway through high school. If I didn't see her at TGI Fridays, homegirl would never cross my mind.
I hope she finds the reassurance and self-worth she was craving all these years, because it seems that she still may be craving it.
I hope that for anyone who was weird to me growing up who acts even weirder now.
I brought up all of my accomplishments in the beginning because, sometimes I really do forget that I have done a lot, and when you as a person are doing well, it brings people's insecurities and lack of achievements to the surface for them.
Don't ever make yourself or your accomplishments smaller to cater to people's insecurities. That means, if going into certain spaces makes you feel like you're bragging, don't go to those places. You don't have to accept all invitations. Further more, be weary of people who are condescending and make you feel like you're bragging, major red flag.
Since I don't do New Year's Resolutions, what I will say is this: I have chosen to move with intentionality since 2022 and I will continue to do so. I will keep achieving all of my goals. I will keep my relationship with God at the forefront of my life, I will marry my fiancé, I will be financially savvy this year, and I will continue to slay, because that's what real bad gyals do.
With Love,
The Original and the Only,
Sarah Chanel
P.S.
Again, Merry Christmas!
