On Tuesday, January 16, 2024, Union Pool’s free concert series continued with DJ sets by Chances With Wolves (Justin Cox & Kenan Juska) and EDAN (Disk Jokk) plus a live set from New Jersey rapper Fatboi Sharif. The free, 21+ shows are presented by Brooklyn Brewery which had free items available (such as cigarette lighters, patches, stickers, and keychains) along with $5 pints of Brooklyn Lager.

The free concert series continues next week with Chanel Beads, Melody English, and LST, and the lineup for the four Tuesdays in February to be announced soon.

funniest answer for "what happened during Jason's fight with Krios" is, rather than Jason having a physical one-on-one unarmed fight with Krios, Jason just tears Krios a new one re: legislation by chewing him out for unauthorized activity in a state park. Because one of Jupiter's big aspects is law!

another thing i feel has deepend my hatred for totk is... how quickly people jump to defending it, as soon as there is any criticism at all, no matter how little or legit, anyone that expresses disappointment, even in the most tamest way possible, the comments are filled with excuses for it like nintendo can do no wrong

often the process of cool concepts getting less cool over the development cycle, especially in this modern gaming industry, isnt bc it just wasnt 'possible' or not the best choice, but bc it gets filtered through many layers of corporate "mass appeal" ideals for greater profit, "mass appeal" i think is always going to give you something more generic, losing its edge, its spark, you cant make soemthing that literally appeals to everyone, thats not how it works, but they certainly try anyway bc it promises greater profit in theory

of course, that doesnt mean that has to be the reason for whatever they decide to go for in the end, but they can do wrong, very questionable, and very much bad things, they have done that and ARE doing that, and you should be able to express disappointment about that without getting swarmed by a weird nintendo defense squad, in fact, it SHOULD be criticised, sometimes that can even be fun, sometimes mroe frustrating, but it should be done regardless, does it sound fun to jsut fully accept everything they throw in front of you without question??? does that sound like you will only get better things???

i just realyl hate that weird cult following (exaggeration) the game has amassed where you either worship it or must unreasonably hate it, that you cant express any sort personal feelign towards it that isnt praise without being hit by the squad tm

Was just thinking about the amount of animals Obi-Wan interacts with compared to literally everyone else and in the Clone Wars episode where Kamino gets attacked he literally gets saved twice by the same ray-like animal and just...

And because it's my brain and it's rotting with all the star wars stuff I am consuming I was thinking of Obi-Wan saving all these creatures and the 212th having to deal with that. Surely they made one of the rooms pet proof in case one of them needs a new home. There also have to be clones who love that because of course Obi-Wan can't really take care of rescues on top of all his duties.

After the first few times this happens Cody learns to order animal food and other necessities. And if the Republic doesn't fulfill these requests or asks too many questions he'll just have to make sure to organize them on planet during the campaigns.

The wolves are actually scrabbling so close at the doorway that their claws and swiping through the crack. That's scary as hell, especially given that they killed a woman right on this doorstep less than a week ago.

I love that Jonathan wants to hurt Dracula enough that the idea briefly occurs to him here and he has to dismiss it as useless. I wonder if he was willing to take a desperate chance on trying to shove Dracula aside as soon as the door was open to just make a dash for it. It would be a tremendous risk and almost certain death, but if the Count had to leave in the morning and Jonathan could put a little distance between them, there might just, just be a minuscule chance that he wouldn't be hunted down... but of course, the wolves make that impossible. It wouldn't have been feasible anyway because Dracula could just send the wolves after him in the forest even if he didn't want to personally chase him down (which he almost certainly could) but Jonathan may have been willing to risk it regardless. Except having the wolves right there at the door makes this completely impossible, makes his death here certain... so he crumples, and begs to stay till morning.

werewolf toph is so powerful that she bust her way into the AU and there was nothing I could about it. girl who 100% would consent to become a Creature as long as she got to keep her earthbending. who cares about her parents! she gets to run freely and do whatever she wants now! and she's got a whole pack of siblings to spend all of her time with now. this is GREAT.

absolute terror who still loves roughhousing even as a human. everyone should just be grateful that this isn't a traditional werewolf story so she can't turn people by biting them, because she will not hesitate to bite. it takes the human members of the Gaang forever to learn that when Zuko and Toph are going at it, they're just playing. they kind of got used to Zuko's whole thing only for Toph to join them and make it exceedingly obvious that he's a wolf in human skin.

i fear i must disagree with your post about vampire mating being like werewolf imprinting. werewolf imprinting is immediate and all consuming and can be platonic/familial, while vampire mating is more like humans falling in love and they just never fall out of love because they are unchanging. They're basically just stuck in the perpetual honeymoon phase.

Vampire mating isn’t all-consuming and immediate? We get evidence otherwise from the books.

Carlisle and Esme? Love at first sight. Esme even loved Carlisle before as a human girl. Rosalie and Emmett? Love at first sight too. Alice and Jasper? Alice fell in love with a vision of Jasper before she even met him. Jasper fell in love at first sight. Garrett and Kate? Pretty much the same. When a vampire’s mate dies, the other half goes wild with either vengeance (Victoria, Irina) or longing for death (Edward, Marcus). This is true for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian vampires (although the vegetarian vampires’ connections are said to be deeper). Edward and Bella are an outlier because of Bella’s humanity muddling things a little. And even they became very quickly obsessed with each other.

The only difference is that werewolf imprinting can be platonic/familial, as you correctly pointed out. It can also develop into something more or stay the same, depending on the imprintee’s needs. Vampire romantic relationships don’t change in that way.

But otherwise, it’s clear that Meyer meant for the vampires and the Quileute wolves to be mirrors of one another. The wolves are written to be in every way just as capable as vampires: They run just as fast, have teeth that can pierce vampire skin, don’t age like vampires unless they stop phasing…and of course, their love relationships are just as powerful, transformative, and permanent.

Either way, vampires don’t really have a choice in whom they love either. They just rationalize their love for their mate in ways the wolves can’t.
