Being a poor fan is so hard 😭 I feel you, I’m broke too, and I live in a country that no one ever comes to but when they do it’s so fucking expensive for concert tickets, like entire paycheck expensive, not to mention hotel and travel because I live in the middle of nowhere and not a big city 🙃 like seriously, artists only come to one or two big cities and I don’t live near either 😑
the issue with me is not just not having the money for it but my dad. I still live at his house and even when I work he doesn't allow me to spend my money on anything. he whenever I spend money on "unnecessary things" in his opinion he will call me to talk about consumerism. my dad is one of the lucky foreigners. he has his own house (it's something really rare for foreigners to have their own house where I was born), he has a house in kyoto and he also supports my grandparents in other countries. he always sends money to his and my moms parents. he always says that he can do this because he spends his money thinking about the future and not the present. my dad is so good at finance stuff he is always helping his friends with it. one day a friend of mine who likes kpop was talking about photocard and my friend had the bad luck that my dad was nearby. because he had such a long conversation with her about spending money on photocard. i was just, dad its her money leave her alone lmao. for example, if I tell my dad that I'd like to go to more than one concert on yoongi's tour, he'll go crazy. he will ask why the need if yoongi will always sing the same songs that i have no reason to spend money on more than one concert. so yeah, I say that but deep down it's not something I would do because I don't like to spend a lot of money lmao
but about the artist going to your city is not always something they can decide about. sometimes fans need to get organized and start asking companies to bring artists to the country or city you want them to go. show that the audience will be large. sometimes the artist only goes to a country if a company calls them. and sometimes that company needs an answer that this concert will be worth it for them too. that's why sometimes fans go to these companies themselves and ask for concerts can help a lot. especially for a group like bangtan. bangtan is a very famous group. it's not cheap at all to bring them to do concerts. :/ I really hope you can have the experience of going to their concert. try to start saving money and plan it.

༺𓆩✮𓆪༻
i have this little box that i keep in the bottom shelf of my cabinet, it's grey with this cheap silver string glued to the lid in the shape of a bow. it was like, two dollars at the dollarama down the street from my old, moldy, run down apartment. i've dubbed it my memory box, i keep all the little trinkets and other random items that i've attached an amount of sentimental value to. i go through it every once in awhile, cleaning out whatever i no longer feel that emotional tie to anymore. sifting through everything always takes me down memory lane, much like it did a few days ago. a little vivienne westwood envelope filled with various receipts sat on top of the pile of my past. i went to england over march, which was my first time flying since i was around seven or something. my early childhood mainly consists of blips in time, vivid memories in sparce chronological order. needless to say, that trip was a lot to me. i met z, my best friend in person for the first time, as well as my partner at the time. i remember tearing up on the train back to my ex's apartment when we left wales, i didn't want my weekend with z to end. although my trip the the uk was the most daring thing i did all year, it feels bittersweet to look back on now.
my relationship with my ex ended in july, and although i've since healed and moved on, that breakup marked a very big shift in my life and how i operate. i was hesitant to enter that relationship from the start; he was my best friend of three years, and although i knew the feelings were very much there, my fear of what would happen if things didn't work out was also very much there. i don't regret our time together or the things we got up to, he wasn't bad to me and we did love each other, but i do heavily mourn the friendship we once had. to make a long and tumultuous story short, my trust in him was scorned during the breakup and our friendship was never quite able to bounce back from that. it's a sore feeling, prior to romance he was my person. i went to him for everything, could talk to him about anything and felt safe in his company. to him, if he's to ever stumble upon this, just know i don't hate you. i no longer resent you, but i do wish that we remained as what we were before lovers.
summer wasn't all sad, though. i met someone later down the line.
well, we knew each other already. c and i had been casual friends for years, having shared the same friend group and interacting through group chats and video games we all played together. after my previous relationship ended, him and i grew very close. i don't think i've gone a single day without spending time with him since august. he deserves an entry of his own, so i'll try to keep this brief.
we made it official in september, three days after my birthday and five days after he flew across the country to spend it with me. c has been a light in my life ever since. he's shown me such a large amount of love, comfort, respect, security, and so much more. i love this man with every piece of my soul, it physically hurts to restrain myself from making the rest of this diary entry about him. i'll finish my rambling with this;
c floods my memory box, now. i have countless boarding passes from going to see each other, a ring of arcade tickets from one of our many dates, these tiny little plastic blobfish from our trip to the ripley's aquarium in october, little pieces of blohsh shaped confetti from the billie eilish concert we attended, and so much more. he took over the rest of my year and frankly, i couldn't be happier.
finishing out the year, i experienced loss. my grandfather passed away early this november and it's been weird to process. my grandmother died when i was in middle school and i never quite learned how to grieve properly. i spent the end of this year feeling a little bit numb to it all, but going through the holidays without him was foreign. i remember the firsts without my grandmother being especially rough. i spent every christmas at her home, to this day it never quite feels right not having to go out to her house food in hand by noon on christmas day. losing my grandfather cemented that nostalgia for me, like that last piece of my childhood died out with him. i tried my best not to really think about it and just enjoy my holiday season, but i found myself thinking about it whenever i had time alone.
to end off this mouthful, i'm very hopeful for what's to come. i have so, so many big plans for 2025. the rest of my life is ahead of me, which feels very daunting, but i'm more excited than i ever have been to conquer everything it throws at me. thank you for your time, here's to the new year.
with love,
emma ♡

I will not think about foreigner fans trying to buy Lisbon tickets because they are cheap and are trying to hit as many concerts as they can. I will not think about how we've been waiting for eight years for them to come back and how the venue only has a capacity of 9000. I will not think about how unfair it is that they are taking this opportunity away from the Portuguese fans. I will not think about this because I will get sad and angry and I don't want this kind of energy in my life. I want a VIP ticket from the bottom of my soul, but I'll be happy if I get to attend the concert in the low visibility seats. I just need to be there. Please, don't take this away from us. 🥺

okay so ALL ABOUT THE ISTANBUL CONCERT the organiser company told us to come at 1 pm so we wouldn't interrupt all the preparations they were going to make but it was obvious we weren't going to listen because our tickets didn't have like the seating system. the first one to go would be in the front row, as louis' team requested because they wanted tickets to be cheap as possible so that every louie can come. then some fan account on twitter told us that the "come at 1" was cancelled because there were a lot of people waiting there already and we had to come ASAP. I got there at 9 am and it was already super duper crowded, louies were all sitting down. they told us to stand up because the ambulance had to move and we were in the way. after we all got up they didnt let us sit again, people kept pushing each other and it was a total mess. I had to link arms with my friend the whole time we waited because I knew I would end up falling down and losing her if I let go of her arm. there was no way I could balance myself in that all the pushing and pulling, if one of us were to fall down we would all go down as well, it was that packed.
not to mention it was super hot, i was wearing a hat but it barely did help, my shoulders and arms are super sunburnt even though i did put on sunscreen. this is going to sound crazy but they sprayed water on us with a hose. normally i would think it is the most humiliating thing but since it was burning hot (so hot that my shirt was literally becoming one with my skin) i was glad they were spraying water bc it did make us feel a bit more refreshed.
i kept telling myself it was all going to be alright because i was going to see louis at the end. but the waiting part was one of the most craziest things ive seen. i had to act like a mom to loads of girls, trying to tell them not to faint or they will lose their spot, i gave them water and asked security to come take care of those who fainted because a lot of people did faint. we tried to cheer each other up by singing but we were already too tired from the hours of standing up we did. we begged for them to let us inside but they told us we had to wait.
they told us (days before) there would be 120 security but to me it felt like they literally gave up on trying to calm the crowd and let us suffer like that. then they opened the doors and they scanned our tickets, gave us our cute louis bracelet and we ran inside like there is no tomorrow. i hoped i could be close to the barriers but i was in the middle section, just two people away from the barriers. i guessed louis would come to our side (which he did!!!) but the barrier side was already taken and still people kept pushing each other. i had to yell dozens of times, "stop pushing, you can't go to the front row! it's already too packed. we are getting squished here and this is our spot now." in turkish and in english because there were a lot of foreigners too.
OH!! and i already knew the songs they would play before his show bc i already had the playlist on repeat for years but they played I'm Still Standing TWICE and I felt like it meant something and i screamed the lyrics so loud and sang along. but maybe they played it twice because louis was late. he was 20~25 minutes late and we were chanting louis louis louis and at one point i got scared he wasn't going to come at all but then he did and... oh dear lord! he was THE SWEETEST THING ever. he is so handsome and his voice is smooth like silk! I'm a louie for 10 years, which is totally half of my life and I obviously know how amazing he is but... he was just wonderful. it was like a dream. his voice sounded like it belonged to heaven and when I saw him walk in with his arms open I started crying. we had a fan project where we all had glowstick bracelets in our wrists, and seeing all that with louis in the stage was amazing. we glowed, he glowed even more. he was so smiley and he kept moving to the right and left and all of the torture we went through... just disappeared like that. his energy healed all of us. his energy was everything. we were all singing and shouting so SO SO much. we were LOUD LOUD! I guess during Beautiful War, it did get a bit quiet because fans didn't know the lyrics well. he asked "who knows it?" and I shouted my ass of singing along with him!!! and bc there were lesser people singing along, I heard him perfectly and his voice... damn. didnt crack, didnt shake. it was perfect. I don't know if he could sound even better than that. it surpassed my expectations. he said, "Thank you for having us in your beautiful fucking country" and i just lost it. i was crying shaking screaming and doing all that!! then we chanted "we love you" between 3 or 4 songs and I was like is he going to say it back is he going to say it back and he did!!! he said "I fucking love you istanbul!" aHHHHHhhhH!!! I don't want to sound so whipped but I am, so fuck it, but even the way he said istanbul was too darn adorable and he kept saying istanbul istanbul and I was just simply in awe. and during the Through The Dark, he noticed we didn't bring the lyrics and he was like "where is the lyrics? you must be kidding me" or something like that ahahahah. and I can't even tell you how good it was. he was so happy and so were we. it was too perfect. we looked so happy during the "proud of you" project and we really were proud of him.
we, us turkish louies, deserved it. many of us waiting for this day to come for 10 years including me and it was wonderful.
lastly thank you @theanonymouscryptid and I wish you could've been there too because you deserved it so much.
thank you thank you thank you, everyone! thank you to all the louies because you were wonderful. thank you, louis!!! i love you so fucking much!
we made it!

Coffee & Donuts
Summary: Arthur’s thrilled to be part of a crowd. Though the evening doesn’t go perfectly, Y/N’s flirtations make it sweet.
Warnings: Smut
Words: 4,602
A/N: Alright. After the heart wrenching angst of my last piece (which I love, by the way; don't get me wrong! 😂), I had to write another story in which Arthur and Y/N are happy and together. It's inspired by one of Arthur's visions during their kiss. I hope you all like it! Special thanks to @jokerownsmysoul for beta-ing!
If you have any thoughts or questions, please comment, feel free to message me, or send me an ask. Requests for Arthur and WWH are open!

Parties and celebrations weren't foreign to Arthur. He'd worked plenty, enough to make him realize what he'd been missing out on. He was well-versed in pin the tail on the donkey, musical chairs, and balloon animals. But as an adult, those activities didn't satisfy. He wanted to be included rather than paid. Connect with people, introduce himself. Discuss his experiences and pursuits. Feel sufficiently at ease to loosen up a little and have a good time.
Now he was a guest - a certified guest - at Patricia Gorman's fifty-sixth birthday party. The first party he'd been invited to since being the weird kid in class who'd rotated between three worn out sweaters and could never afford a gift.
He'd been a tad apprehensive about going to Burnside. Gotham's nicest borough had a reputation for high rents and low tolerance. When Y/N and he had entered 2E, however, Patricia's greeting ("You made it!") and the apartment were thoroughly welcoming. Crocodile brown walls and forest green shag carpet made the spacious living room a cozy hideaway. Marigolds leapt across the polyester of the T-cushion sofa and its easy-chair companion. The floor lamp's amber, crimped glass shades cast the spacious living room in a glow borrowed from warm autumn days.
Patricia's husband, Robert, was out on an emergency call. An HVAC had gone haywire in a residential building in Hinckley. Her daughter, son-in-law, and grandson had been by for lunch. That meant the only other guests were Matt - Y/N's old boss - and a bottle-blonde in a black halter dress and spike heels, who Y/N introduced as Laura. ("She's Matt's ex-wife," Y/N later disclosed. "He's been trying to win her back since I moved to Gotham.") Both shook Arthur's hand when he offered it, and he felt a little thrill whirl his stomach when Y/N laid claim to him by telling the woman, "This is my husband."
A collection of appetizers served as dinner, a fun and novel menu. The slow cooker meatballs Y/N and he had lugged over on the subway were a bit tangy; he still couldn't believe the recipe called for grape jelly. The deviled eggs with paprika, a pleasant mix of savory and sweet, was a dish he'd heard about on television. Cream cheese and cucumber sandwiches were light and airy, a good match for his iced tea. Only the artichoke and spinach dip gave him pause. Its beans and hot sauce made his taste buds wince.
That unpleasant flavor was quickly forgotten when Y/N pulled him to sit next to her on the sofa, so Patricia could open her presents. She proudly showed off the orange, clay ashtray her grandson had made for her. Arthur, having successfully kept the secret of her light smoking from Y/N, chuckled at Patricia fibbing she'd put candy in it. She thanked Matt and Laura for the champagne, wrapped in a silver bow with a simple "Happy Birthday" tag. The bottle wasn't popped. Upon peeking into the large giftbag Y/N placed on her lap, she made a soft sound. The Dazey whirlpool bath, which attached to the side of the tub and had three strength settings, was a hit. She announced her plans to try it in the morning. The dark blue Rexbuilt briefbag was intended to replace her cracked, leather briefcase, Y/N explained. Patricia ran her fingertips along the expanding inner compartments, the personalized planner that included the credential "CLA" after her name, and flipped through the included steno pads, eyes brimming.
She sipped at her cocktail and put an arm around Y/N. Melancholy tinged Patricia's voice. "At my age, the people in your life tend to stay the people in your life. Whether you like them or not." She reached further and patted Arthur's knee. "I'm glad an old dame like me gets to call you all friends." His throat clenched in gratification, though he wasn't daring enough to squeeze her hand and thank her for deciding he was a friend.
Still on top of the world an hour later, Arthur sauntered to the red and white enamel dining table to serve himself a second slice of upside-down pineapple cake. The evening had gone well, better than a guy with a natural inability to mingle could've expected. He bobbed his head to the beat of "Come Fly with Me." It was a happy coincidence that Patricia's taste in music aligned with his. She'd regaled him with tales of seeing Sinatra and Count Basie on her and Robert's honeymoon in Vegas. Arthur took a bite absentmindedly, wondering how long it would take for him to save the money to surprise Y/N with plane and concert tickets.
The daydreaming didn't last long. Matt's plodding footsteps preceded him, followed by a long sigh as he propped himself on the beige stone of the dining area's accent wall, across from the u-shaped kitchen. He held out a Budweiser and smirked. "Marriage is a hell of a lot of work."
Pleased that he was being treated like one of the guys, like a regular husband with a regular relationship who got to speak about his regular wife, Arthur accepted the beer and considered the comment. Matt's sentiment was hard to grasp. Dr. Sally had said marriage could be difficult, and Y/N's first hadn't survived the ripples of her life. But it didn't feel like work with her. Their arguments were minor. Her nagging him to find a primary doctor for annual check-ups, even though he'd survived this long without one. Or back in Missouri, when he'd told her to stop shielding him and trust he could take anything she had to give.
Arthur adopted a similar nonchalant posture and jutted his hip against the table's edge. "I like it. It's easy to take good care of her." He wasn't able to completely erase the smugness of success from his tone.
"You're what? Two years in with the most headstrong woman in Gotham? She's great and all, but she spikes my blood pressure." Matt slapped Arthur's back and let out a hearty guffaw. "Give it five more and you'll be in my office trying to avoid alimony."
"Don't. Say that." Arthur crinkled the can in his grip and glared up at him.
"Hey," Matt started, withdrawing even as he tried diplomacy. "It was just a joke. I didn't mean anything by it."
Flinching, pulling at the cuffs of his red sweater, Arthur fought the surge of anger in his veins. It wouldn't do to lose control and cause a scene. Of course Matt's comment about them splitting up was supposed to be a joke. But Arthur didn't find it one bit funny. Even with his complete faith in her and his firm belief that they were meant to be together, the possibility that she'd stop wanting him hurt. It didn't occur to him that the implication of the punchline could be that he'd get sick of Y/N.
With a muttered apology, Matt walked to the others in the kitchen. Arthur glanced over to see her laugh tipsily, until she grabbed her stomach and swatted Patricia's shoulder, a stark demonstration of how much he and Y/N differed. She always knew how to respond to people, the right comebacks. Appropriate timing and levels of interaction. It seemed she was in her natural element, the loveliest swan on a lake. Whereas after years of therapy and practice with her, he was still a fish out of water, flopping around on the shoreline in hopes some stranger would take pity on him and throw him back into the sea.
Maybe that was the real punchline. Eventually their contrasts would no longer complement each other and instead become a chore.
Scowling, he ambled towards the record player stationed before two double-hung windows. Increased the volume to drown out the intrusive notions. It didn't really work. He settled on a grounding technique he'd practiced, all the while lamenting that he couldn't handle a party without needing it. His attention went to the spinning LP, the needle following its grooves. The bright blue album cover, where Ol' Blue Eyes beckoned him, the scuff marks on the cardboard's corner edges. He acknowledged the spider plants sat on the windowsill, worried a papery leaf until it broke off. He stared out the window, taking in the whole of the city. Pinpricks of light dazzling in the darkness.
"Gotham's beautiful at night," Y/N said from behind him. He glanced over his shoulder to watch her approach. Her cheeks glowed with alcohol and good cheer, the collar of her ivory blouse unbuttoned. "There's a life behind every light out there. Ten million of them. Here. Try this." She offered her hurricane glass, filled with an off-white slush.
He sipped the pina colada with cautious skepticism and grimaced as soon as it hit his tongue. The blend of pineapple and coconut tasted of cheap sunscreen and tropical imitations, the kind advertised in smudged brochures for bad cruises to islands with made up sounding names. "No, thanks."
Snorting, she shrugged and embraced his back at the waist. "How are we doing?" she asked, curling into his side. After a few seconds, she prodded him. "Had your fill of Matt?"
"He was just joking." Arthur rubbed the back of his neck and sighed. She set the drink next to the record player and brought her hand to his, trailed it over the inside of his wrist, up his forearm. She pecked his chin and nudged him until he turned to her. As soon as their gazes met, the concern in hers told him she'd continue to pepper him with questions. But he wasn't about to let his misplaced doubts spoil her evening. And he knew the perfect way to distract them both.
A new song started. An oldie that sang of Jupiter and Mars, playfulness among the stars. He cupped her cheek, thumb sweeping the corner of her mouth. "Dance with me," he said. Before accepting his proffered palm, she laid a sloppy kiss on him. With a flutter of her eyelashes, she grinned, and his smile grew to match her own. As he held her side, led her in a slow, swaying circle, he marveled at her. At her ability to soothe every molecule, every lingering ache. Self-assurance welled in him, chased away his earlier dejection. He cradled her to his lanky frame, trembled and felt himself blush. She was the only woman for him. That was as certain as his cigarette habit.
Despite Patricia's reassurances she was fine, that Robert working late wasn't unusual, Y/N insisted on staying until he got home. Though Arthur would have preferred they take their leave an hour earlier, being allowed to smoke inside blunted his grumbling. The disarming flirtations she bestowed on him also didn't hurt. She'd pour herself a drink (four in total, if he counted correctly), help Patricia make a plate of leftovers for her husband, then throw him a wink. Whisper and cackle while cleaning, then kiss his temple.
Around midnight, Patricia put her foot down. Ushered them out with a promise to call and a hug fierce enough to crush his ribs. She raised a brow at Y/N's unsteady gait, grasped Arthur's arm, and said with a wry, tired smile, "Make sure you put that woman straight to bed." His dark brows shot up and held. Had she intended a pun? Or had Y/N's spare caresses caused the interpretation? Either way, he liked being trusted to take care of her. And the hint of arousal that flared in his belly.
By the time they stumbled into their apartment, that arousal had reduced to a dull exhaustion. She kicked off her heels on the way to the bathroom, calling a slurred "night!" as she closed the door. Yawning, he put dish soap and hot water in the crockpot, scrubbed burned bits of sauce from its rim, turned it upside down on a towel to dry. Once he'd brushed his teeth for one minute rather than the recommended two, he tossed his sweater, trousers, briefs, and socks in the hamper, and went to the bedroom. He found his blue pajamas in their usual spot, the chair in the corner, and slid them up his skinny but toned legs. Tucked in next to her, he was carried to sleep on waves of fatigue and her quiet, wet snoring.
~~~~~
A tickle threatened to rouse him. Whispers along the waistband of his bottoms. Heat snuggled his back. Delightfully drowsy, he cuddled deeper into cozy, cream-color sheets, already returning to a pleasant, dreamless slumber. But a rumble of exhaust, likely from a bus that needed a new muffler, dragged him to consciousness. Arthur grumbled and tucked his arm under his pillow, not ready to transition to a world of overcrowding and concrete, commotion and bad jokes.
Yet, Y/N's insistent grazes continued, luring him with promises of placid pleasure. Her toes wiggled at his heel until he made space for her to slip her foot between his ankles. The corner of his mouth quirked. He was reminded of last night's playfulness, her endless teasing. The way he'd held the crockpot as a shield to fend off her advances on the train home, her forwardness to the point that he would've preferred having a laminated card to present on her behalf. Forgive my wife: she has a condition. It causes frequent and uncontrollable displays of affection.
Nimble fingers edged lower, loosened the tie of his pajamas before dipping beneath the loose elastic to lace through his dark brown curls, darker than the chestnut hair on his head. Her knuckles ran over him, lazy caresses full of intent. Up and down, up and down. Delicate. Deliberate. The blood racing to his groin, the pleasant swelling, made his abdomen twitch. Soon full and heavy, the sensitive tip straining the cotton seams, he pressed his lips together. When she skimmed the tender skin resting on his inner thigh, he flexed the muscle at the base of his erection. It bobbed and hit her wrist and she let loose a girlish giggle, more intoxicating than wine.
With her left leg draped over him at the knee, she undulated against his rear. Plush lips brushed the boney knobs of his spine, damp breath fanned the nape of his neck, labored, needy. Pebbled nipples grazed his back through the thin nylon of her nightgown, taunting and compelling. He made up his mind to throw an arm around her, to yank her on top of him. To eagerly take part in her seduction.
But she withdrew from his bottoms to palm his stomach and plant a gentle kiss to the shell of his ear, whispering, "Sleep tight." The mattress shifted and she rolled away from him. He furrowed his brows. She rarely relented this easily - other times he'd awakened, hard and aching, enveloped by the captivating wetness of her mouth. What was she up to?
Covers rustled. Her calf bumped his. And the opposite of what he'd assumed occurred. Instead of light footfalls leading out of the room, there was silence, silence that seemed to stretch on and on...
Until a hitched gasp gave her away.
Touching herself. She was touching herself. She'd just been all over him, acted like he was some sort of model on the cover of Vue magazine, and now she was touching herself. Right beside him! Ecstatic to have inspired such brazenness, he grinned and fisted the pillow. Her fleeting, stifled moans tangled him in knots, implored him to give her what they both burned for.
He flipped in her direction, his hand shooting under the sheet to grab hers. "Gotcha."
Eyes wide, she gaped at him in surprise. But adoration softened her expression as she entwined their fingers. "How long have you been awake?" she asked.
"Long enough."
He stretched to rewind the shades, the diaphanous curtains staying in place. Sunlight diffused over them, wrapped around her face, lent her disheveled hair a warm luster. He twirled a feathered lock and pecked her eyelids. "Finishing what you started on the subway, hm?"
"Me?" Y/N brought his knuckles to her mouth. "You're the one who came to bed without any underwear."
"Well, it was a late night." The pad of his thumb tugged at her bottom lip to reveal the pink tip of her tongue. He bent to claim it. "I was lucky to find my pajamas."
Chuckling, she broke their connection. "Did you have a good time?"
"Yeah. The cake was good. And the music. Everyone was nice."
"Patricia loved having you there. She thought you were very sweet." A pause as she mapped a dimple. "Matt said he'd upset you. Something stupid about breaking up?"
Vague shadows of discomfort flashed through Arthur, a frustration he'd mostly moved on from. He did his best to ignore it, waving her concern away. "Don't worry about it."
"He was just jealous, you know." Her nails ran along the small of his back. "He wants Laura to look at him the way I look at you."
Arthur had spent so much of his life yearning for change, to understand his purpose in the world and improve himself. The idea that a man with a good education, a successful career, and no disabilities could ever be jealous of him was, frankly, bizarre. But he didn't correct Y/N, instead locking her praise within his heart, preserving it for when he needed it most. He boosted himself on his forearm and fiddled with her V-neck, traced its button loops as he slipped the plastic knobs through them. "And how's that?'
A hint of scandal glimmered in her irises. She arched into him as he eased a strap down her upper arm to reveal her shapely breast, the lilac fabric momentarily catching on its taut peak. "Like I can't get enough of you."
He huffed at that, fondled her faintly before his lips met the velvety skin of her chest. A tonic comprised of the musk oil she'd dabbed on before the party and distinct sexual wanting wafted to his nostrils. He licked at her nipple, the bumps on her areola, and drew it between his teeth. She whined softly and lifted the bottom of her nightdress to her waist.
Hurriedly, he yanked on the waistband of her cotton panties, pushed them past her knees. She kicked them off while he knelt to lower his bottoms. Straddling her, he pumped himself back to hardness and opened the drawer of her nightstand. He searched haphazardly until he retrieved a small, glass bottle of lubricant. (She'd ordered it from a mail catalog, both of them a bit too bashful to walk into an adult shop, even together.)
She snagged it from him and poured half a teaspoon in her hand, then palmed herself. He moved between her legs and she grasped his length, coating him with the warm, slippery liquid. He pushed forward into her. Gradually, slowly, savoring every millimeter of her enticing heat. He noted the stretch of her mouth, the jut of her jaw, the lifting of her upper lip. "Mmm..." she breathed and begged him to keep going. When he did, her head tilted back into the pillow, eyelids falling shut. A smile cut across her cheeks as she purred her satisfaction. "Arthur, I love you."
His touch wandered down the curve of her thigh. At the sight of her subtle writhing beneath him, the sway of her slightly uneven breasts in time with his languid thrusts, he pushed her knee into the mattress, splayed her wider. He grunted lowly. "Look at me."
Their gazes met but didn't hold for long; hers dropped to where they were joined. She caressed right above his pubic bone. "I love seeing you like this." Her fingertips walked a line up his sternum to his chest. "And touching you like this." She wrapped her arms around his middle and drew him to her, locked their lips in a greedy kiss. "And making love like this."
He snorted. "I think this is the only reason you married me."
"Well, not the only reason. There's your good hair, too."
"I've been thinking about cutting it. Trying something new."
"Don't you dare." She tugged at his loose curls, wore her best pout. "What else would I hold onto when we're doing this?"
Laughing lightly, he bumped his nose to hers. Falling into her was like falling into his old fantasies, the ones that'd sustained him through years of isolation. Dates at diners, at comedy clubs, at donut shops, at home. Their shapes had changed as he'd matured, his role in them, his aspirations and infatuations. But they'd remained a warm comfort nonetheless, a place that felt like belonging. And now he belonged with her. Hunger filled him. Happiness. And love. So much love, more than he'd ever believed he'd carried in him. He bucked a little harder. "You feel so good," he murmured. "You make me feel so good."
A strained cry left her and her pelvis answered his steady rhythm with demands of its own. Her calves rose to squeeze him closer, encircle his narrow hips. They were pressed together so tightly; it felt like they were one flesh. He never wanted it to stop. But a dizzying euphoria had ignited, one that eclipsed the romantic yearnings of his heart, twisting his desire to last all morning into the desperate drive to possess her. Gasping, Arthur raised himself to his knees, delving deeper with each push. Their foreheads met and he grit his teeth at the scald of her, the texture of her walls. She fit as though she'd been made for him.
He supposed she was.
Pressure began in the base of him, building and building in terrific torment. The muscles of his inner thighs contracted inward. Tingling climbed his shaft, his tailbone, his spine. He wove his fingers into the sheet, his grip a vise that wrested its corner from the mattress. She kissed the spot where his jaw met his neck, all the while murmuring encouragements for him to let himself go.
Bliss shot through him, from the tips of his toes to the follicles on his scalp, and his back stiffened as he whimpered and poured into. Fever engulfed his frame, sublime in its frenzy, leaving him in a heady stupor. Aftershocks made him tremble. Once, twice. Until, sated and spent, he landed on top her. He closed his eyes, ribs rising and falling as he forced air into his lungs.
A minute later, he swallowed and looked down at her. "You didn't come."
She carded through his sweaty locks. "It's all righ-"
"Shh." He slid out of her and settled at her side, reached between her legs to swipe at her core. "I'm not done," he declared, tracing the edges of her entrance, slick and swollen. One of his favorite things about getting her off was demonstrating his prowess in bed, how well he'd learned with her. His thumb met her plump clitoral hood, and he felt her throb beneath his ministrations.
Nails biting his bicep, she rocked upwards. A bewitching blush crept up her breast, her neck, spread across her cheeks. Shallow pants hit his face, short puffs suffused with high-pitched whines, utterly irresistible. He circled her nub at a steady cadence, tapping when she'd shiver, and she clasped the back of his hand. He swirled his tongue around her nipple, sucked the pretty peak, and lowered the other strap of her nightgown to bare her completely. A hushed plea fell from her lips. "Please, please..."
Suddenly, her vulva grew white hot and she seized, her hips stuttering with each flutter of his touch to her folds. She thrusts her breasts towards him, a sharp moan caught in her throat. Liquid pooled against his fingers, proof of her rapture that made him wish, with mild amusement, that he could be an unmedicated young man again. He would've gladly taken her a second time.
Giggling and rubbing her temple, she released a long exhale and opened her eyes. He brushed her hair back and grinned, completely smitten, like the first time he'd heard a joke and understood the punchline. The light brown picture frame on his nightstand caught his attention, and he regarded the wallet size photo in it, one of the shots of Y/N from the booth at Amusement Mile. The last thing he looked at before turning in each night. He lay his head her shoulder and hummed, listened to the drum of her heart.
She smooched his hairline and wriggled out from beneath him to stand. Her nightie had been reduced to a crumpled stripe of lilac cinched about her waist. It felt tawdry and shameless and he wanted to see her in it for the rest of the weekend. But she peeled it down her legs, wrinkling her nose when it got stuck on her thighs, and stepped out of it one foot at a time. She dropped it on the floral bedspread and retrieved her bathrobe from the closet. "Meet you in the kitchen," she said, opening the door.
The sun had risen higher, its beams slanting across the covers. He basked in it, catlike, then swung his legs over the side of the bed. He pulled on his pajamas, got a new pair of socks from their dresser, and made his way to the kitchen. He washed off the remnants of Y/N's arousal from his fingers, popped open a prescription bottle and took a tablet. He poured water into the coffeemaker, grabbed the can of grounds from the second shelf, added three scoops to the paper filter. Their three-tone brown mugs sat in their spot next to the machine, waiting to be filled.
When the glass coffeepot was half full, Y/N emerged from the bathroom, chuckling to herself. She opened the breadbox on the opposite counter and took out a wax paper bag. "Do you have any idea how dull this morning would have been if we'd never met? I'd have read the Sunday paper, had a drink. Probably worked on a file." He handed her a couple dessert plates, watched her put a donut on each one. "I wonder where you'd be. What woman you'd have breakfast with, what jokes you'd be writing, what magic tricks you'd have learned."
"Um..." At first he wanted to ask where this speculation had come from, if Matt had let her in on exactly what he'd said. But the confident slant of her smirk told Arthur she was teasing. He tried to play along but winced. No matter how appealing, how extraordinary she found him, his gut told him there wouldn't have been another woman. There'd be no more stand-up routines, no more Carnival. He certainly wouldn't be taking care of Penny. He'd likely be locked up in the hospital, maybe even dead. Without an anchor, his life would have lost what little sense it had.
Y/N was one of his anchors now, hooked into the sand alongside his material, treatment, the ability to pay bills. He seized her hand and squeezed it tight, unaware he was squishing her fingers. "I don't wanna think about it," he said quietly.
She sidled up to him and pulled him to her side. Rubbed his flank soothingly and pecked the corner of his mouth. "Don't worry." She took his chin and guided him to look at her. The intimate comfort of her smile helped him believe her next words, even before she spoke them. "I'll always be here."
Initial REGISTRATION PROBLEMS?
When I went to the Live Stream Website and clicked on the registration button, it seems like you can sign up with Facebook, Twitter or Google. I tried to use all of them but for some reason an error always occurs after filling in the information.
I don’t know what it is and I am kinda freaking out T_T Maybe I need to use VPN but it really doesn’t look like it...or maybe I need a Japanese email address?? Argghhh, I hate this. Seems like one of my Japanese followers encountered the same issue so I feel like it has nothing to do with me being a foreigner. Maybe there are some problems on the site. However, I have seen people post about having already purchased a ticket so it must have worked at some point.
EDIT: Seems like there was a system overload. I was able to register now. Super easy since you sign up with an already existing social media account. There is no other info required, the rest of the stuff (sex, birthdate, prefecture) is optional. They accepted my credit card and I already purchased the ticket. BANZAI!! Ughhh, dealing with so much stress on a Sunday morning is not healthy for me T_T Especially when I am on my period and in a very fragile state anyways. I was seriously on the brink of tears
Anyways, now that that is done, I can FINALLY be happy about this. I mean, WOW, I can’t believe we are getting a live stream for this!!! And it’s super cheap as well!! Plus, the video gets archived for five days!! Everyone, there is really no excuse not to get a ticket.
It’s affordable
The registration and purchasing process are foreigner-friendly
Video gets archived for 5 days so it doesn’t matter if you are busy at the time of the actual live.
𝗷𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 wordcount : 615
including : mentions of suwei’s mom, annya and heiwa
note : not my best work, but i’m tired of editing
summary : the taipei concert doesn’t go according to suwei’s plan.
suwei was home. taipei seemed almost foreign. it was like an old friend she hadn’t seen in years. foreign and familiar at the same time. she missed home. and her family and the friends she left behind. she still visited them during the holidays, but visiting and living their just weren’t the same. she missed waking up to the smell of her mom cooking and her friends calling to her as she left the house.
she woke up from her slumber in the hotel room to the sound of their manager waking them. they had to be to the concert venue soon.
driving by the old streets she used to walk everyday had memories rushing back to her. of the weekly walk she and her mom would take to the store. or the streets she’d walk with her friends in the morning to get to school. the park where her friends would meet at for their weekly study sessions. the karaoke bar where their weekly karokee night took place.
they passed by the streets she grew up on, on the way to the concert venue. she may not have grown up in this district but she still lived close enough that she was familiar with the streets. but this concert is special. her parents are finally able to attend the concert with it being so close to home. tickets aren’t cheap and neither is airfare. so it was the tickets or airfare. and tickets obviously won out. no tickets no concert. so this was the first time her parents were able to attend. she was ready to show her parents why they let their only child move across the ocean from them.
they enter the venue through a backdoor to the changing rooms. it’s while getting in her stage outfit for the first song that she gets a text. she picks it out of her bag and her face drops.
a text from her mom pops onto the screen.
Sorry honey. We won’t be able to make it to your concert. I’m stuck at work and your dad is still stuck on his trip to see your uncle. I know you were excited to see us, but don’t worry I gave the tickets to Annya and Heiwa.
she cheered up as she read the end of the text. annya and heiwa were her best friends. and if she couldn’t have her parents at least she could have them. she was home, but she was still working and that was bittersweet. she wasn’t here on vacation and she couldn’t spend time with her parents like she wanted to. but she was going to make the best out of having her best friends in the crowd.
she heard the stage crew call for them to prepare to go on stage. she texted out a quick reply to her mom and before following her group to the stage.
It’s okay mom. I miss you, but I know work is important. Love you.
as she follows her group to the stage she practices her breathing exercises. something she’s learned to help with her asthma while performing.
“and you are on.” the stage manager said as the entered the stage going into their starting pose. she looks around as discreetly as possible while looking for her two friends. she finds them about a section back and catches the sign in heiwa’s hand. we love you su. she catches her friends gaze as they turn toward her and gives them a smile before the song starts. with her friends in the audience she knows she has support. if she can’t have her parents at least she can have the two closest people she has besides her members in the crowd.
tenderness is in the hands
or, Eliott’s favourite cinema has cheap popcorn, a lot of foreign films, and a blue eyed boy behind the counter. // 3k // ao3
The Lallemant Theatre looks half dilapidated from the street. Old fashioned, with faded vintage posters in dull, scratched up frames outside, and half the light bulbs blown out, throwing odd shadows on the movie titles.
Eliott is there at least once a week.
The scuffed up wooden floors feel like home. Golden walls littered with more decades old posters, velvet love seats in deep red and purple scattered at odd intervals along the sides of the room, the scents of melted butter and bleach inescapable and constant.
“There you are. I was worried you were dead in a ditch,” says the only other person in the building. Eliott, before he’s had a chance to lift his head to find him, grins on instinct. Lucas’ voice, lilting and teasing, washes away the bad mood this week has left him with.
“Serious bodily harm is the only thing that would keep me from you,” he allows. Lucas just scowls, bristles, and puts aside the magazine in his hands. Eliott keeps smiling. It’s hard to predict exactly how Lucas will react when he says things like that, but whatever response he gets is a treasure.
“You’re almost late, you know.”
Eliott finally reaches the counter, places his hands on it and leans over a bit. Lucas’ hair is defying gravity, his eyes bright under the lighting, and a red plaid scarf that would contrast delightfully with his skin is curled next to the keyboard. Eliott wriggles his eyebrows. “You’d wait for me though, right?” Lucas rolls his eyes, so Eliott wages forward. “What’s on tonight?”
“Some Australian horror.” Lucas runs a hand through his hair, some of his fingernails flashing with chipped colour. “I’m not sure if you’ll like it, to be honest.”
Eliott hums vaguely and pulls out his wallet, finds a creased note between a collection of abandoned loyalty cards and faded concert tickets. The ticket stub he gets in exchange has a thick yellow line down the side, and the hand giving it to him has badly painted nails, each one a different shade of green.
“You’re really bad at that,” he says, nodding to Lucas’ hand. Lucas squints his eyes, raises his chin a little.
“I had to use my left hand.”
“Uh huh. Let’s see your other hand, then.” The other hand in question immediately disappears from view. From the way he shifts, there’s a good chance Lucas is sitting on it.
Eliott grins in triumph. “There’s no shame in being truly terrible at things, Lucas.”
“I suppose you would know a thing or two about it.”
Valiantly, Eliott lets that slide, stuffs the ticket in his pocket. The colour changes every month or so, and soon he’ll have enough of them saved to do - something. A collage, a sculpture, something worthy of this building, of the memories inside its walls. “Why don’t you think I’ll like the movie?”
“I’ve only seen pieces, but it doesn’t seem to have any… sincerity in it. Which I know you don’t have a lot of tolerance for.”
“You remember that?” Not a lot of people actually listen to him when he talks about film, the thread sometimes unspooling too quickly, tangling and looping, and making it hard for anyone to follow easily.
Lucas expression goes warm, kind, and something boarding on sympathetic. “I remember everything you say, Eliott.” There’s an implied obviously in the air and, well, no one would blame him for the way his heart beat rushes, especially when Lucas says his name like that, affectionate, weighty, like it’s valuable, like it matters.
Eliott looks to the side, coughs, brings the lighter out of his pocket just to have something to fiddle with.
“Has anyone else got a ticket for it?”
The way Lucas shakes his head makes his hair dance. “Just you. How much popcorn do you want?”
Eliott shoots the popcorn machine a look, its yellow glow a physical presence in the room. He can almost feel the sheer quantity of butter clogging up his veins from here. Simultaneously they take the couple steps to the side where the confectionery part of the counter technically starts.
“Depends, how hungry are you?” he asks, smirks, when Lucas has the audacity to look surprised Eliott is asking.
“Who says I’m joining you? I have a job to do, you know.”
It’s a good argument, but one that would probably work better if they were in a theatre that had more than roughly fifteen customers a week, most of them not at 9pm on a Wednesday.
“You would rather sit out here doing magazine quizzes and waiting for customers that don’t exist than sit next to me for a few hours and prove just how bad you are with accents?”
“You’re so annoying, and I have nothing to prove to you. “
Eliott softens. “I know you don’t. So how hungry are you?”
Without argument, Lucas shoots the popcorn a longing look. “So fucking hungry. Don’t worry,” he adds, flaps his hand like he can reverse Eliott’s move to take his wallet out again. “it’s included in your ticket price.”
A blatant lie, but Eliott doesn’t call him on it, just shrugs. Lucas nods and starts piling popcorn into the biggest box they have, the cardboard checkered orange and white. Lucas’ maman, the owner, seems to love colour, the theatre drenched in vibrancy, texture, calling out to a city that’s too blind to see it.
When Lucas passes the box over, their fingers overlap, and Eliott sets the food down in favour of getting a closer look at his hands. It’s a good thing Lucas has started painting his nails, he doesn’t have to reach for an excuse. It’s a lot smoother than Lucas’s I think there’s a bug, oh no wait my mistake, I’ve always liked tattoos, why do you have mardi written on your knee? It’d been a warm day, on the cusp of summer, the arms of their singlets plunging low to their waists, both of their legs’ exposed, and it was a good thing Lucas moved first because Eliott had been trying to find reasons for why Lucas really should stop sitting properly and drape his leg’s across Eliott’s. He’s as shameless as Lucas, really, just hides it better.
And this, this is slightly subtler. He leans down like he’s properly inspecting Lucas’ hands, face serious, touch gentle, and Lucas doesn’t resist, bends easily to make room for Eliott’s whims.
The colour isn’t really that badly done, really, but still.
“You can practice on me, if you want,” Eliott offers. Nicely, in his opinion, but Lucas’ eyebrows furrow.
“I’m really bad at it.”
“…Which is why I offered.”
He presses his lips together. “I don’t mind being bad when it’s my own body, but you have nice hands,” Eliott chokes on nothing, Lucas mouth quirks. “I don’t want to ruin them.”
“You couldn’t ruin anything.”
“Well, some things,” Eliott doesn’t think he imagined the seconds Lucas takes to flick his eyes down Eliott’s body, “but if you insist, I’ll gladly use you to experiment on.”
Eliott doesn’t know when they started having, how they keep having, multiple conversations at once, but it’s a bit too much. His hand automatically moves to tap at his lips, a nervous tic, but, right, they’re still holding - no, not holding, just touching - hands. He can feel the edge of a callous on one of Lucas’ fingers. Drums? Guitar? Wire sculpture? Carpentry? Before he can ask further, Lucas slips his hand away and he jumps the counter.
“Come on, I don’t want to keep you out late.”
Lucas sets off towards the splintered hall that most of the theatres spring off, and Eliott follows him automatically, absently reclaiming the popcorn when Lucas picks up a jacket, presumably his own. “You don’t?”
“Well, not for this,” the tips of his ears go slightly red, but nothing else. One day Eliott will make him blush for real, and it will be a beautiful day. “Isn’t a regular sleep schedule good for you? For stability, I mean.”
“I don’t remember telling you that.”
“That’s because you didn’t. I did some research, after you told me. The Wikipedia article for bipolar disorder is very well written.”
“No WebMD?”
Lucas shakes his head. “Yahoo Answers was very educational, though.”
“Well, primary sources are important.”
Lucas takes a right turn, a direction that can only take them to two cinemas: the Burgandy and the Woolf. The former reasonably large, wide seats, a bronze curtain unveiling the screen, and the width between aisles just that little bit too small for his liking. The latter is smaller, screen half the size, the walls dark blue, ceiling tall, and a collection of deep couches to seat the audience. It is, undeniably, Eliott’s favourite, and the way Lucas is looking, pleased, content, a slight bounce to his walk that usually isn’t there - Eliott has to resist the urge wrap his arms around him and, possibly, never let go. The ecosystem here would support them; they’d never have to leave.
The next time he glances over at Lucas his heart stutters when he finds those blue eyes already trained on him, eager, adoring. The barriers between them erode the deeper they roam into the guts of the building. The architecture is tricky, clever, expands beyond the barriers granted to it by the city, and something similar happens to them. Eliott feels paper thin, transparent, emotions bleeding into the space between them. Lucas reaches across, tugs on his arm, and leads them, unsurprisingly, into the Woolf. And it’s okay that he’s bleeding, that this far deep the physics of the room demands honesty, because it’s Lucas, a fixed point in the universe, who, underneath the snark and pouting and dramatics, has always ever only gathered up all the kindness and joy and tenderness he could find in his hands and offered it to Eliott freely.
Lucas softly nudges Eliott towards a couch in the centre but doesn’t follow him down when Eliott sits, sinks, into the middle of it, wanders away to do whatever is required to start the movie. The lights dim, first, then the screen clicks to life with a kind thank you for choosing Lallemant Theatre for your movie going experience. The room is a universe unto itself, and the last traces of the day slide off of him, every bad thought getting lost in the dark.
Lucas, when he returns, drops down on Eliott’s side, close, confident, and reaches across his body for a handful of popcorn. Eliott had placed it beside him, next to the armrest, without thinking, but clearly it had been a great idea.
Lucas’ neck arches back when he relaxes, stares at the ceiling, chest moving slowly, deeply, his collarbone refracting light. It’s - Eliott shouldn’t stare like this, should try and tame his greedy eyes, because Lucas isn’t his to stare at so blatantly. Not really. Whatever nebulous, shifting, sometimes delicate thing they’ve morphed into over these months, there are some lines still intact, things left unsaid under a gossamer veil of… deniability, caution, something.
Like he’s been summoned by the current of Eliott’s thoughts, Lucas flops his neck, looks at him. “Can I take you up on your offer?”
“Of course,” Eliott answers automatically, without bothering to figure out exactly what he’s referring to. Yes, of course, literally whatever Lucas wants. His responding grin is visible even in the low light, and in the seconds Eliott takes to bask in and appreciate his smile, Lucas straightens up, whips out a small bottle of nail polish from somewhere, its lid silver and the polish colour unknown.
Right. Eliott has his doubts about how well this will go given the changing light levels, courtesy of the pre movie ads, and lack of a solid surface, but Lucas twists to sit sideways, takes Eliott’s hand and places it on one of his thighs, and, really, if Lucas has deemed this environment adequate, who is Eliott to tell him otherwise.
The denim of his jeans is warm, the muscle underneath firm, and Lucas pats his hand, just once, before opening the polish and securing the bottle in the crease of his other leg.
“What colour is it?”
“Dark orange, kinda.”
“I don’t know if it’ll go with my complexion. “
Lucas snorts. “You can take the hit.”
The first brush is on his thumb, and leaves a sizeable streak on the skin beside his nail. An edge of a smile is visible from Eliott’s eye line. The next nail goes about the same way, and Eliott makes the decision to study the room, the ads, the tumble of Lucas’ hair, rather than watch in real time as burnt orange varnish settles into the grooves of his skin.
By the time he finishes painting that hand, the movie has started, and Eliott really should pay attention, but his gaze is stuck. There are stars in Lucas’ eyes, his skin stained rose from light thrown from the screen, veins in his arms; Eliott vibrates with the need to touch, to feel, to trace the shape of his hands, his arms, the sweet curve of his neck.
His hand, the one on Lucas’ thigh, clasps, squeezes, subconsciously, and Lucas finally, finally, meets his gaze properly. His mouth feels sticky, stuffed with fairy floss, and he wants to apologise but the words won’t come out. There are stars in his eyes, an entire ocean, every sublime mystery the universe has to offer.
Characters are talking, their accents grating, and the light burns white.
Lucas’ hand finds his and squeezes.
“Can our next date be somewhere else?”
Eliott’s mind goes blank, tries to force the fairy floss away. “Our next date?”
“Or our first one, either way,” Lucas says, and his smile is cheeky, eyes teasing. Eliott takes a second to readjust to this new reality, this beautiful, divine reality, and lets himself smile too, gentle, and probably slightly awed.
“We’ve been doing this for how long, and this is how you officially ask me out?”
Lucas’ cheeks bunch with how big he’s smiling. “You had something better in mind, Romeo?”
“Maybe I did. Maybe I would’ve convinced your maman to play my favourite romance, and then recreated one of the scenes with you, which would make you swoon and win your heart.”
Lucas’ mouth gapes for a second, incredulous. “That sounded very well planned for something that I only just asked you.”
“That was one of my top five plans.”
“Five?”
“I’ll tell you about them later.” Lucas looks curious, like he wants to ask more, want to keep interrogating every romantic scenario Eliott has ever thought of, eyes flicking across Eliott’s features, and when he bites his lip Eliott’s gaze drops to them, plush, pink, begging to be captured. Normally Eliott would indulge him anything, but there are some better things they could do. “Can I please kiss you now?”
Lucas starts nodding before he’s finished speaking, smiles for a second, and he doesn’t have to lean far because Eliott has already moved forward, curled into his space.
“Please,” Lucas whispers, leans his neck up, and Eliott falls into his gravity. The first tentative brush of their lips feels like the first ever breath of air, vital, stabilising, impossible to live without. His hands go up to cup Lucas’ cheeks, keep him there, keep him close. His veins fizz and heart flutters, bounces, around his chest, but this, the sweet drag of Lucas’ lips, his soft sigh when Eliott tilts his head, kisses his deeper, slower, this is the most certain, the most right, he’s ever felt about anything. The universe was designed to place him here, with this boy, so close he’s almost in his lap. Placed him so he can hear the low noise Lucas makes, the vibrations travelling straight down to his core, when he breaks their kiss.
Lucas, dazed, confused, and smiling, looks back at him. “Why’d you stop?” his voice is a little gravelly.
Eliott strokes the cut of his cheekbones with his thumb. “I just - I’ve wanted to do that for a while,” he murmurs.
“Really?” Lucas asks, with a level of shock that shouldn’t be there, that Eliott will have to rectify every day they’re together. For now, though, he shrugs, raises his eyebrows teasingly.
Lucas makes a dramatic sound, some kind of sigh/groan hybrid, and looks heavenward. “I wasn’t sure if you were like that with everyone, or just me.”
When he looks back down Eliott guides their foreheads together, shakes his head gently so they don’t get displaced. “Only you. Ever since I saw you, it’s only been you.”
Good music bonds us together
Most people around me have this shallow way of thinking when it comes to Korean music. All they see is fancy clothes, glitter, colourful hair colours and idols jumping on stage as if they would suddenly forget that music in general has dozens of different layers as all genres are unlike the others. Maybe it is because people who usually listen to American or other English-speaking music already understand the lyrics therefore they can identify themselves with their messages easier or they simply do not care about the Korean culture enough to give less popular bands a try. But what is true is true, ever since BTS became a worldwide phenomenon, people tend to associate Korean music with them as if other genres and bands wouldn’t exist. Their amazing performances became the core of a stereotype that seems to be incontestable thus those who do not know where to search will probably never find bands like Day6 who are far from typical Korean idol groups.
In late January I had the chance to attend a Day6 concert with three of my friends in Berlin and ever since that day the first word that comes to my mind thinking of them is breathtaking. Since I am still a university student with all its perks and mishaps I usually do not spend my money on concerts let alone a concert in a foreign country but somehow my friends found a cheap flight, a cheap accomodation and well, the concert tickets for my biggest surprise were also affordable compared to other famous performers’ concerts therefore I was willing to give it a go. And how grateful I am that I did. The live show they gave us was absolutely worthwhile.
A few years back I went to a music festival with some other friends and I remember how disappointed I felt when the artist was ten minutes late, performed six or seven songs then said goodbye as one finished their job on a tiresome Friday afternoon. Well, Day6 wasn’t like that. They markedly enjoyed themselves, joked around between shorter sessions and danced like there was no tomorrow, occasionally speaking in English to make themselves understood by those who had traveled a lot just to see them yet don’t understand Korean. They sang a lot like more than twenty songs in total with the same passion and never once acted as if it was a job for them or as if the audience should have been thankful for their efforts. The way they treated their fans as if we were a part of their band was fascinating and did bring each member of the fandom a bit closer. For those few hours we became a part of something magical and it was okay to not understand each other’s language or even the band’s language. They made it happen through emotions.
And this is what music should be about. It is supposed to connect people and not drift them apart because of all those stereotypes people have nowadays. Instead of pointing at someone laughing at them because they listen to kpop, you should ask why do they like those particular songs that they are fond of and what do those tracks bring to their lives. Most likely there is something meaningful behind the catchy words that most people cannot even tell from each other.
Do you also have a story about one of the Korean performers you like? Feel free to share it with the world.
So you *really* want to plan a trip to Japan?
After years of talking about how much we wanted to visit Japan, my friends and I are finally taking the plunge.
Similar to many others, the biggest concerns we had were budget, taking enough time off of work, and not really having any idea how to approach it.
I have spent an exorbitant amount researching the interwebs and scouring reviews so if it helps anyone else, I am putting together several guides of what I thought was important to know with a focus on how to be budget-friendly.
*Please keep in mind this is for a group of friends visiting together from the US, so certain things may not be as applicable to solo or couple travelers or other countries, but many things should cross over.
GENERAL CHECKLIST with TIMELINE (links to more detailed posts on each topic to come)
~One year before
Decide on a general season/month that the group wants to go
Start figuring out who is fairly committed to going (you don’t need a final headcount yet but want to start narrowing it down)
Start SAVING (a dedicated Japan fund with 100 to 150 dollars per month can help ease the strain off big purchases you may need to make later on)
It’s not for everyone, but signing up for a good international travel credit card can help save some money
Expenses at this stage: none (you should be saving instead!)
~6-7 months before
Decide on a very basic itinerary. By this I mean an estimate of about how many cities you want to go and how much time you want to spend in Japan overall. This is necessary for the most important step, which is picking a flight
We chose a 14-day trip, and knew that we wanted to split our time between Tokyo and Kyoto/Osaka
Keep an eye on airline prices the general month/season you want to go
Follow-up post on tips for cheap airfare to come but the highlights include: being flexible with the exact dates, setting up a price alert, going off-season, using travel rewards from a credit card
I did a lot of research on whether or not to fly into one city and fly out of the other but ultimately decided that the most cost-effective thing to do was fly in and out of Tokyo and use a JR pass to go back and forth between Kyoto/Osaka and Tokyo
Although it may be cheaper to fly mid-week, in the end it was a better use of our work PTO to fly out on Saturday and come back on the weekend. This also helps cushion the trip for travel time and jet lag
FINALIZE DATES AND A FLIGHT AND STICK TO THEM
A significant amount of planning for Japan depends on which dates you are going so you can’t keep switching them around
Most flights will be non-refundable and you don’t want to waste money having to change them around
An oft forgotten tip, CHECK YOUR PASSPORT NOW and make sure it is not expiring in the 6 months after your flight to Japan. If it is going to expire (as was the case for my BF), start getting your docs together and submit a renewal sooner rather than later
Expenses at this stage:
Airfare: ~$1000 (this varies widely but coming from the US, but this was our budget. We ended up getting it a lot cheaper using AA points)
IF you need to renew your passport, about $150 for passport photos, fees, and shipping
3 to 6 months before
Once you have your dates and your flights, you can really get the ball rolling. You will also start to finalize your true headcount now as people start buying tickets
Build out a slightly more detailed itinerary (not what you’ll be doing every day, but just in general what cities you want to spend each day in). We had a few restraints that helped us pin down our itinerary:
I wanted to save money by only doing a 7-day JR pass. Even though we were going to be in Japan for 14 days, the JR pass is really only cost-effective when you’re using it on long trips. So that means that we would activate our JR pass on the day we were planning to travel to Kyoto from Tokyo. From then, it would be active for 7 days, and we would need to get on a bullet train back from Osaka to Tokyo on the 7th day. So we knew we would be spending 7 days in Kyoto and Osaka and 7 days in Tokyo.
Specific events/festivals. For example, a couple people in our group wanted to attend a concert on a specific day in Osaka
If you are going during cherry blossom season, this will also affect which dates you spend in which cities
Pick where to stay (do not delay on this)
This was one of the most stressful and difficult things for me, to be honest. Balancing budget vs location vs amenities and space is really difficult. The good thing is there are a lot of good guides out there depending on where your budget is
In general, your options are hostels, low-budget hotels, very nice hotels, and airBnB
Ultimately airBnB seemed like the best pick for our group. The hotels seemed to be relatively tiny in Japan and we wanted to be able to stay somewhat nicely for a cheap price so an airbnb allowed us to all split the costs at one place.
Even after deciding on airBnB, we spent HOURS and DAYS choosing which one. If you are going during a hot season, airBnBs will get booked like hot cakes! As soon as you find a good one, you need to put a reservation in very quickly.
What helped us narrow it down was that we knew we wanted 2 bathrooms for the 6 of us. We also stuck to a budget of about $40-70/night/person. Being near a train station was important to us as well. I focused on keeping costs low here since we wouldn’t be spending much time in the place
I used google maps to make sure that the location we were choosing wouldn’t be too far away from major destinations we wanted to hit using public transportation (~40 mins or less)
Expenses at this stage:
Lodging: As mentioned, we had set our budget at about ~$55/night/per person which comes out to $715 for 13 nights. We scored some good thrifty deals and ended up at less than $600/per person for this.
1 to 3 months before
If there are any tours or tickets to events you want to do, I’d recommend booking them around 3 months out, especially if it’s going to be a busy season. I saw a lot of tours get sold out before I could get to them
We read stellar reviews for Mario go-karting around Japan and picked a date far in advance for this as we did not want to miss it. Will update on how it is once we go!
If you want to do the mario go kart, you will also need to get an International Driving Permit before you leave for Japan (you can get it for $25 at the AAA in the US)
We also booked a couple ‘experiences’ through Airbnb
If you haven’t yet, purchase your 7-day JR pass (this needs be done before you leave for Japan as well and shipped to you)
Purchase either a Wi-Fi hotspot or SIM card
This is when you want to start really doing your research and picking out generally which areas of town you want to spend each day in.
Though I am a bit OCD, I did not want to pack my schedule or plan every detail as I think that takes the fun out of traveling. I just picked big spots I did not want to miss and tried to figure out the most efficient ways to group them together. I really didn’t want to waste precious time in Japan figuring out things we could have researched before
This can take a lot longer than you expect!
Start familiarizing yourself with Japanese language and commuting
As mentioned, I wanted to make sure I had a basic understanding of things to minimize getting lost and other hassles
I used Youtube a lot and also took this time to download Google’s amazing google translate app
Expenses at this stage:
Tours/Experiences: These range between $40-$100. How many you do will depend on your budget and your time.
If doing mario go-kart, it cost us $95 for the longest time slot and an additional $25 for the international driving permit.
Wifi Hot Spot: ~$50/for 7 days
JR pass: ~$270 for a 7-day pass, ~$455 for 14-days
Less than 1 month
Aside from being super excited, now’s the time to start making sure you have all the items you’ll need in Japan
Some things I made sure I got were a GoPro, a pretty backpack to take around that would fit the items I need, any outfits, an external battery pack, a universal adapter (confirm first if your electronics run on 110 v or not)
Keep researching/learning Japanese
Keep print outs on hand of important documents (passports, addresses, maps) in case your phone dies
Do some research on exactly what you need to do when you get off the plane. I realized that I had no idea where we would need to go to take the bullet train from the Narita airport to Kyoto. This will make your first hours in Japan less stressful
Exchange dollars for yen (A surprising amount of places do not accept credit card in Japan so I wanted to have about 50,000 Yen on hand in case of emergencies, and also wanted to limit how many times I needed to pull from ATMs to avoid the fees)
Confirm with your bank account/credit card company that you will be out of the country. Try to make sure you use a credit card that does not have foreign transaction fees
Expenses at this stage vary depending on how much you’ve traveled in the past and how many new things you may need to purchase.
Oof, that was a huge word dump, but that should cover at least the necessities (unless I missed something which I’m sure I did). We haven’t actually gone to Japan yet so it will be exciting to see what works out as planned and what goes totally the opposite. Once I make more detailed posts, I will link to those within here and remove all the details from here.
What is the difference between a handshake event and a fan sign?
eh, ok, I will try to quickly explain how things work:
Korean “fan-sign” such as done by SM etc:Normally for 100 fans and lasts about 1 hour. Sometimes it’s held in a space where public can watch (like malls) but usually it’s held in a closed small hall. The 100 fans sits as audience, and in turn go up to a table and meet member after member then go back to their seat. They get like 30 seconds per member to sign something and ask something. 100 fans x 30 seconds = 50 minutes it’s over quite quick. The event is done in cooperation with 1 single CD store. For example, every CD sold during Monday-Wednesday in that one store is a ticket to the draw made to be 1 of 100 to participate in the Saturday event. Many fans will purchase from that specific store, so maybe they sell 10,000 CDs in those 3 days and 100 will be given event tickets (typically announcing winners on maybe Friday). SM acts will normally do these events right after music shows. Like, if SBS Inkigayo ends at 17:00, the artists get a few minutes to go to the restroom and then they go right next to the fansign venue in their stage outfits/makeup for an event starting 18:00 before being done for the day. Rookie acts will typically do loads of such events. Established acts will just do like 3 events. They’d rather not do any at all, but if they’re not completely brainless they’ll understand that doing 3 such meeting events per year actually is a very effortless way to personally meet fans.
Japanese “high five events” (as done by many acts, such as JYP acts in Japan and most Japanese idols):Events are typically held in 2-6 cities on different days. All events are basically all day events in big halls/venues. Every single CD (no matter where you buy it and when (as long as you get it before the event)) contains a card that is the ticket to do a “high five” with the 1 member stated on the card. As in literally a “high-five” that takes 1 second to do. The ticket is valid in any city/event but only for one single high-five with that specific member. You can buy hundreds of CDs to get hundreds of tickets and try collect tickets for your favorite member. But all events are “first come, first serve” with separate lines to all members so after using 1 of your tickets for a 1 second high-five you must run back to again stand last in the line to meet a new member (or the same member again).
Japanese “hand shake events” (as done by all XXX4X events):These are basically the same as above, but (1) you get more like 8 seconds rather than 1 second per ticket and (2) you literally pre-order which member you want to meet when and where. As in, you have to pre-order CDs on a specific site and at the same time you book a specific time slot for your “hand-shake”.As in member AAA may have a 1 hour 15 minutes time slot between 14:00 and 15:15 on a Friday, and there are 500 CDs/tickets available for that slot. Each member might (depending on popularity) have 1~40 such “slots” in different cities on different days (but normally multiple slots per day in one city). And basically, if you alone go buy all the 500 CDs for one slot, then you basically have the entire 1 hour 15 minutes for yourself to meet your idol. Now obviously, for the really popular members it will typically be restricted so that one person can only buy max 20 CDs/tickets per slot (= no more than say 2 minutes of meeting time). But obviously that same stalker fan can buy CDs/tickets to many different slots.
The most extreme Japanese idol groups like XXX4X… Most of their CD sales are from their own online store to book “hand shake event tickets”. But all of their “normal” CDs sold in other stores instead contain tickets for “high five events” or similar. So their crazy fans go buy hundreds of CDs both from the XXX4X online store and from other stores.
Then obviously now and then “idols” and actors hold fan-meetings which literally are just extremely half-arsed concerts to which fans buy tickets as if it was a concert in order to say “ooooaaawwwhhh oppppaaarrrr” when oppar can’t even be bothered to perform.
Why girl groups don’t do Fanmeeting?
Well, there are dual reasons:
If you watch any male idol fan meeting (no matter what format from above) you’ll immediately see that every single attendee is a completely brainless zombie girl who has absolutely no interest in any actual music or performance but who is only interested in the public persona he is (because she is a brainless zombie). Female celebrities would typically not have such brainless zombie fans paying money for nothing.
Secondly, even if there would be a 17 y/o girl attracting hordes of 50 y/o men to pay to meet her… If she had any self respect whatsoever she’d refuse to do that. Now obviously the lines are very blurred between the Japanese idol girl industry and the Japanese AV industry… But why would any serious person want to be a Japanese idol???
Do you think Spotify will a have a fighting against Melon and the rest in korea?
Eh, the question is kind of dumb. Korea was pretty much the country worst hit by piracy in the world. The legal music market died completely. When ILLEGAL services like Melon and Soribada eventually had to become legal and start paying rights-holders for music, that was still very small amounts. It’s been growing since and today it’s regulated by law that they have to pay something like 54% of revenue to right-holders. Spotify on the other hand pays over 70% of revenue to right-holders. So… Right holders giving licenses to Melon is just exclusive for Korea. That’s why it’s illegal for Melon to allow people outside Korea to stream on Melon. While foreign services can’t really enter Korea, because rights holders wouldn’t approve of such low shares on Spotify and then Spotify would have to charge a much higher subscription price than local services in Korea so nobody in Korea would pay for Spotify. Not gonna change until ratios in Korea are raised more in line with international ratios.
How much sajaegi do you think happens on the Korean digital charts?
None of significance. As said before. I find it mind-boggling that people somehow still don’t understand that streaming a song is free and streaming services are interlinked with SNS, and instead people somehow still try to compare streaming data with when people actually had to physically go to a music store and buy a physical disc for $20 USD per disc. It’s not the same. Nowhere near the same.
Talk about trainee debt.
Not sure what I’m supposed to say. Trainees in any serious agencies don’t have trainee debt (as long as they fulfill their trainee contracts). It should kind of go without having to explain that the whole purpose of doing an audition is to show the agency that you actually have the raw talent required to make it in order to persuade them to invest money in training you (and then you’ll split the profit you make as a celebrity if you succeed per the contract you agree on). Now obviously there will be countless of shit agencies without money that can’t pay for training and will try make trainees agree to pay for training, and there will be countless of shit wannabe celebrities that don’t get accepted by proper agencies that still are desperate to try become celebrities and proceed to sign such deals.
What do you think about JYP and how they pay their singers? Is the margin for the “management” segment reasonable for their groups?
Not sure what you expect. Clearly all JYP celebrities throughout history are talentless puppets just humming to JYP’s basic but addictive melodies. Not sure why any JYP singer ever would possibly deserve to be paid more than minimum wage since they contribute nothing.
Even though bigbang have a concert attendance as high as tvxq, they do not seem to bring the same amount of revenue.
BIGBANG had much bigger attendance and MUCH MUCH bigger revenue than TVXQ ever did in a year or two. Not in Japan, but total, when they did their MADE/0TO10/MADE-VIP in 2015/16.
twitter* com/neoliveson/status/1131957008918306816 do you think this petition is gonna work?
Some tragic useless old man is trying to make youtube ad-money from all of BTS’ fangirls??? Color me surprised.
Will YG and JYP ever pay for their crimes?
Pretty sure they’ve not committed any (serious) crimes by law. Maybe you’ve somehow missed it, but during the last 20 years pretty much the entire world has been swept by political liberal influences with the goal that nobody should ever have to be responsible for anything. If you’re a “kpop-fan”, it’s probably very safe to assume that you’re in fact one of those to blame for this liberal fuctardism. No, you can’t both have your cake and eat it.
Look it up this video 아이돌 QnA 2탄! 궁금증 해결! [ENG].
Wayland Q&A part 2? I watched it and I’m not sure what you’re surprised with.
Are BigBang and TVXQ in the same level of recognition as Arashi in Japan?
Not sure if serious or trolling. TVXQ has possibly like half the recognition of Arashi. BIGBANG much less than that. Besides, all the members of Arashi (and SMAP) are extremely well known individually.
Is Blackpink the biggest GG right now or it is mostly mediaplay from YG?
Not really sure what I’m supposed to say. Pop groups overall has been pretty much dead for the last 20 years outside Korea/Japan. So being “the biggest GG right now” isn’t really that much of a feat. Secondly… “or is it mediaplay from YG”… I’m not sure if to laugh or cry. They’re ACTUALLY BIG BECAUSE OF YG’S MEDIAPLAY that you’ve swallowed long ago. That’s the whole point of mediaplay. All you dumb girls all around the world swarm around anyone who’s painted as big in media/SNS. YG is the masters of making you dumbfucks become “fans” of their puppets.
Why Japanese concert tickets are cheap in comparison to other countries?
Uhh, it’s a bit difficult to understand for me too. I mean, I quite appreciate the Japanese system where all tickets are the same price and you apply in a lottery system to get to buy a ticket. But what’s strange is how the very very popular acts don’t charge much much more for their tickets. Like, for example IKON might perform in a Japanese arena with 8000 tickets available for $100 USD each, but only 6000 fans actually apply for tickets to that show. At the same time, B'z may be on an arena tour and play in the same arena with 8000 tickets available for $100 USD each. But 200,000 fans apply for tickets to that show. Clearly they could have charged $300 instead of $100 USD/ticket and still sold out. I’m really struggling to understand why top acts in Japan don’t charge higher prices.
What do you think of JYP saying that album sales are one of the best indicators for a group's success during his JYP 2.0 presentation?
Well, again, for JYP it’s very great with album sales as that’s how JYP make lots of profits.
2019.02.23 Hyun Joong New Way Concert @ Busan
Updated My Special 501 Dates
Kind of late writing this but here goes! This is the first time I watched a concert in Korea so there’s so much I want to talk about! So once again I’m going to split this Fan Account in sections.
Prologue
To be honest I really never pictured myself watching a concert in Korea. The thought of watching a concert there just felt so distant. Even last year when I went to Macau for his concert it felt like something very far away. Furthermore I don’t understand Korean so I really didn’t think I would be able to get tickets nor did I want to get it through those resellers and let them earn big bucks for doing nothing. So the idea just really didn’t come to mind until one day I just got bored and decided to take a look at the ticketing. I must say how thankful I am that Interpark has an English site that is pretty user friendly. I was quite surprised to see that there were quite a lot of seats left and a little sad to be honest. But in a way it’s kind of good because I managed to get pretty good seats as you can see below in orange.
Although this time I wasn’t as close as the one in Macau, it felt much better because I was in the center and i could view the whole stage at all times! It was absolutely amazing. So another concern about watching it in a foreign country is a didn’t really want to travel alone. A main issue I thought was going to be ordering food alone at restaurants, it just seems sad. I asked a lot of people to go with me but no one was interested until I asked my aunt and she was totally on board haha. So off I went to book my flight hotel and of course the concert tickets. To be honest if I couldn’t find anyone to go with me I was already prepared to go alone because I really think chances are rare and I should treasure these chances and go watch whilst I’m still young.
Oh and one more thing is it’s so cheap watching it in Korea, all the seats have the same price, I paid for my aunt’s ticket as well and both tickets together is equivalent to one ticket in HK (the expensive category). On top of that our seats were great so it was totally worth it!
Just Before The Concert
Again this time I found out on Weibo that there was going to be a handshake event again!! I was so shocked because this didn’t happen in the Seoul concerts earlier this month so I was super happy and excited.
On the day we went to venue KBS Busan Hall and collected our tickets there, it was much quicker than I expected and the logistics was pretty good. We queued up based on the last name of the booking name and quickly collected the tickets.
So I noticed the people around me were speaking in Cantonese so I asked the person in front of me if she was also from Hong Kong. Turns out a bunch of Hong Kong fans came together to support Hyun Joong. I was actually quite surprised by the amount of HK fans that came. There were at least 20 fans from HK! It was quite nice to meet people from home in a foreign concert.
A very interesting thing I noticed is that around 70% of the people there were from overseas, mainly from Japan! Only about 30% were from Korea. 95% of the fans were middle age in their 40s to 50s hahaha. My aunt and I were probably close to the youngest ones hahhaha. My aunt kept saying how she felt like she was very young compared to the rest and clearly I also felt the same ^^
A special thing about watching concert in Korea is all the rice wreaths. This is a very Korean thing where fans raise money to donate rice wreaths and the rice will be donated to people that need it. It’s a great way to show your love for your idol and also do something good for the community. I’ve seen these in pictures but it’s the first time seeing it in person and I really like it! There was a whole bunch of these, mainly from Japanese fans and some from Hong Kong fan groups!
Compared to the shows in Hong Kong and Macau there weren’t a lot of freebies. No one was giving out banners, I was actually pretty surprised. Turns out when we went inside the hall there were some staff waiting to give out these banners that say “love you very much” in Busan dialect. We raised these up when he sang Love Song (I really like this song from his new album!!
The Concert
Quick summary of the concert, he sang a total of 28 songs, 6 more than the Seoul concert! Of which there were a few Busan special songs!
He started the concert with New Way, i managed to sneak one pretty bad photo but I couldn’t take any more cause the security was very strict :(
Everyone stood up immediately! We actually stayed standing up for one and a half hours until Hyun Joong told us to sit down before Haze lol.
Anyway he sang most of his new songs and the backdrop (?) the video that played in the background was really pretty. It was mainly scenry but it fit in very well with New Way, Why, Misery etc.
Hyun joong mentioned that Busan stage would be a little different, suddenly the band was playing an interesting arrangement and then oh my god they played LET ME BE THE ONE!!! I WAS SO SHOCKED. Hyun Joong said this was a Busan special, he re-arranged SS501′s Let me be the one and it was just amazing. Everyone screamed like crazy, all the feels my god! I actually thought that was the only surprise stage until he sang Love Like This later in the concert. I must say he really improved his singing a lot, I think partly is cause he didn’t dance so he has more focus on his singing. He used to find it difficult to reach the high notes in Love Like This but he seemed to reach it with ease this time. Another thing is you can actually hear Saengie’s voice in the Love Like This backing!!! All my group feels my god!
The concert actually seemed pretty long, it was 3 full hours. He didn’t change clothes at all and really committed to singing as many songs as he could. When he sang Lucky Guy the Japanese fans actually followed him and danced, it was so cute looking at some old ladies dance hahaha. They have more energy than a 23 year old (me). LOL
When he sang Lucky Guy for the second time during encore he walked down towards the fans and he was so crazy close to me!!! I mean super close!!!! I managed to take a very short video and here are two screenshots from the video.
It was quite funny during encore because he was just going to sing three songs (ASTRAEA, Lucky Guy, Moonlight) but we kept chanting so he sang So What and said ti’s the last song. But we wanted more. Eventually he sang Kiss Kiss again!!!! I actually can’t decided if Kiss Kiss or Please is my favourite song but Kiss Kiss is just sooooo sweet. And this time it was really cute because he made us repeat the kiss kiss part so many times. It sounded super duper cute though, we all did a great job in my opinion. It was so cute!!!! Handshake
After the concert there was the handshake event. He stood near the door and we queued up one by one and shook his hand as we left. This is the THIRD time i shook his hand and I really want t o say his hand is still ever as soft as before. I’m really lucky cause all three concerts i’ve been I was able to shake his hands. I hope in the future I’ll still have this luck <3 I still really appreciate his dedication in shaking every fan’s hand, got to love him so much <3
Post Concert Feels
I’m really really really really glad I took the step to fly over for this concert. It was worth everything! I had a great break from work as well and traveled around Busan with my aunt and had a great time. My aunt wasn’t actually a fan of Hyun Joong but because we were going to watch his concert she actually ‘prepared’ and listened to his songs. The funny thing is now she’s addicted to his songs hahaha.
I think watching a concert in Korea feels really different. The people feel different. In Hong Kong or in Macau there’s a lot of Mainland Chinese and although I’m Chinese myself, I cannot associate well with the older generation of Mainland Chinese people. They tend to be ill mannered and pushy. This time everyone was very disciplined. Hyun Joong jumped off stage a couple of times and walked through the crowd but the fans just stayed at their respective positions and cheered. If this happened in Hong Kong or Macau, fans would jump at him and it wouldn’t have been possible for him to walk arouond. I really appreciate how Japanese fans are so polite and well mannered. Absolutely loved it!
Hyun Joong said he wants to have a concert in Seoul, Busan, and Jeju evvery year. I really think I”m going to go watch every year. I hope this becomes a tradition and I can grow old together with him.
A key feeling i felt this time was he aged quite a bit, maybe cause he got fatter. But it’s also kinda cute cause it makes him more human and seem just like us. Again I’m so grateful to have him in part of my llife <3 Can’t wait for a SS501 comeback, feels like it’s not too far!!
