According to a 2024 CDW survey, many organizations are becoming adept at moving workloads to the cloud. Over 36% of respondents have moved up to half of their applications to the cloud, and 75% say cloud benefits have met their expectations. The top business benefits cited include improved reliability, access for remote users, and increased efficiency.
However, challenges remain. Cloud security is a concern for many, with 68% citing security as a reason for cloud repatriation, although 48% report improved security after migration. Cost management and maintaining visibility into cloud environments are ongoing issues, with 63% citing a lack of cloud skills or governance as key barriers. Meanwhile, many healthcare organizations are already well into their cloud journeys, with 50% having moved over half of their applications to the public cloud.
