Decoding the Google Core Update, March 2025

Decoding the Google Core Update, March 2025
On March 13th, 2025, the constantly changing and unforeseeable digital world felt another major shakeup with the release of Google's newest core algorithm update. Just like before, the official explanation of the update was typically unclear, highlighting the continued focus on "rewarding top-notch content" and "enhancing search accuracy." Still, the impact was evident, causing a lot of worry and hurried changes in the SEO field.
This piece explores the effects, some educated guesses, and the best ways to handle the Google Core update from March 13th, 2025. It aims to clarify how the algorithm is changing and what that means for those who run websites and create content.
The Aftermath: Search Results in Flux
Right after the update, the search engine results pages (SERPs) saw some major shifts. Tools that monitor such volatility showed huge jumps, pointing to big changes in rankings across different sectors. Initial reports zeroed in on a few key areas:
E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness): Google has always cared a lot about E-E-A-T in how they judge website quality, but the update in March 2025 seemed to turn up the volume on it. Websites that showed they knew their stuff, had proven expertise, were authoritative, and were super trustworthy did a lot better.
Content Authenticity and Originality: Google seemed to get much stricter about content that AI just cranked out without much original thought or real value. Sites that used a bunch of rehashed content, rewritten articles, or stuff that looked like it came straight from an AI template saw their rankings take a nosedive.
User Experience (UX) and Page Experience: Things like how fast your site loads, if it's easy to use on mobile, and overall how user-friendly it is were way more important after the update. Slow websites, had annoying pop-ups or were a pain to use on phones got dinged.
Contextual Relevance and Semantic Understanding: Google's update appeared to fine-tune its capacity for grasping the context and purpose embedded within search queries. Sites that provided comprehensive, in-depth content that addressed the nuances of user searches saw improvements.
Data Driven Content: Websites that used first party data to personalize and improve user experiences, and that used data to back up claims, saw significant improvements.
Analyzing the Algorithm's Evolving Priorities
The Rise of "Human-Centric" Content: The update reinforced the notion that Google is prioritizing content created by humans, for humans. This goes beyond simply avoiding AI-generated text; it emphasizes the importance of genuine insights, personal experiences, and a conversational tone.
Emphasis on Real-World Experience: The "Experience" element of E-E-A-T took center stage. This suggests that Google is placing greater value on content creators who have real-world experience in the topics they cover. First hand accounts and demonstrations of real world product usage were rewarded.
Combatting Misinformation and Disinformation: In an era of rampant misinformation, Google appeared to be strengthening its defenses against unreliable or misleading content. This involved stricter scrutiny of sources, a greater emphasis on fact-checking, and a preference for content from established authorities.
The Importance of Contextual Understanding: The upgrade demonstrated Google's developing capacity to understand linguistic nuances and the context of user enquiries. This shows that semantic SEO and topic clustering are becoming more important.
Privacy and User Data: With growing user concern about privacy, Google's algorithm appears to be rewarding sites with clear data-gathering policies that prioritize customer privacy.
Video and Multimedia: Video content, especially content that is original, well produced, and engaging, got a large boost in rankings. Long form, well edited videos, that are not just re-purposed content, were very well received by the algorithm.
Emerging Best Practices for the Post-March 2025 Landscape
In the wake of the update, website owners and content creators were forced to adapt their strategies. The following best practices emerged as essential for navigating the evolving search landscape:
Prioritize E-E-A-T: Focus on increasing your brand's authority and trustworthiness. Display your knowledge through author profiles, credentials, and real-world experience. Seek expert contributions and endorsements.
Create Original, High-Quality Content: Invest in original research, in-depth analysis, and distinctive opinions. Avoid using AI-generated content that lacks originality or value.
Optimize the user experience:  Make sure your website is speedy, mobile-friendly, and simple to navigate. Address Core Web Vitals concerns and prioritize a consistent user experience.
Embrace semantic SEO: Create content that takes into account the complexities of user intent and search query context. Topic clustering and semantic keywords can help you develop topical authority.
Build Authentic Backlinks: Concentrate on obtaining high-quality backlinks from credible sources. Avoid using black-hat link-building strategies.
Focus on Data and Transparency:  Show users how data is gathered and used. Ensure that privacy policies are explicit and user data is secure.
Invest in Video Content: Make high-quality, engaging videos that add value to your viewers. Optimize videos for search and make them accessible.
Monitor and Adapt: Stay up to current on algorithm updates, and regularly monitor the performance of your website. Prepare to adapt your strategies as needed.
Focus on First-Party Data: Collect and use first-party data to tailor the customer experience. This enables more targeted content and a better experience.
Create a Community:  Create a user community centered around your brand. This can be accomplished using social media, forums, and other online channels. Strong communities generate social signals, which Google values.
The long-term implications
The Google core upgrade on March 13th, 2025, marked a substantial shift in the algorithm's objectives, emphasizing the significance of human-centric information, genuine expertise, and a user-first approach. As Google improves its comprehension of language and user intent, website owners and content providers must adapt to the changing standards.
The update is likely to have the following long-term implications:
A More Level Playing Field for Smaller Websites: By emphasizing E-E-A-T and original material, Google may level the playing field for smaller websites that can demonstrate actual expertise and offer distinctive value.
A Decline in Low-Quality, AI-Generated Content: The crackdown on AI-generated content is expected to result in a decrease in low-quality, spammy content that clutters the SERPs.
A Greater Emphasis on User Experience: Google's continuous emphasis on UX is likely to result in overall improvements in website design and performance.
A More Contextually Relevant Search Experience: Google's improved semantic understanding is expected to result in a more relevant and fulfilling search experience for users.
A renewed focus on the human element of content creation: The value of real people, and their real-world experiences, will only continue to increase.
In conclusion, the March 13th, 2025, Google core update served as a stark reminder of the dynamic nature of the digital landscape. By prioritizing E-E-A-T, originality, user experience, and contextual understanding, Google is pushing website owners and content creators to embrace a more human-centric and value-driven approach. Those who can adapt to these evolving standards will be well-positioned to thrive in the years to come. The future of search is focused on genuine human connection and genuine human experience.

Unmasking the Winners and Losers of Panda 4.0: A Deep Dive
In the ever-evolving landscape of search engine optimization (SEO), Google's algorithm updates hold a significant impact on website rankings and online visibility. One such update that sent shockwaves through the digital marketing community was Panda 4.0. In this comprehensive article, we'll take a deep dive into Panda 4.0, understanding its implications, identifying the winners who adapted successfully, and the unfortunate losers who were left scrambling to recover.
Understanding Panda 4.0
What is Panda 4.0?
Panda 4.0 was a major update to Google's search algorithm, first introduced in May 2014. It was designed to target low-quality and thin content websites, to provide users with higher-quality search results.
Tumblr media
The Goals of Panda 4.0
Panda 4.0 had two primary goals:
Content Quality: To reward websites with high-quality, relevant, and engaging content.
User Experience: To enhance the overall user experience by reducing the visibility of low-quality content.
Winners of Panda 4.0
High-Quality Content Creators
Websites that consistently produced valuable, well-researched, and informative content thrived after the Panda 4.0 update. They saw increased organic traffic and improved search rankings.
User-Focused Websites
Websites that prioritized user experience by ensuring fast loading times, mobile responsiveness, and easy navigation were rewarded by Panda 4.0.
Content Diversification
Winners diversified their content formats, including articles, videos, infographics, and podcasts. This made their websites more engaging and appealing to a broader audience.
Losers of Panda 4.0
Thin Content Producers
Websites with shallow or duplicated content suffered significant drops in rankings. Panda 4.0 penalized them for not providing substantial value to users.
Keyword Stuffing Offenders
Websites that relied heavily on keyword stuffing, a practice of overloading content with keywords, saw their rankings plummet as Panda 4.0 detected and penalized such tactics.
Slow and Unresponsive Sites
Websites with slow loading times and poor mobile optimization lost visibility as user experience became a crucial ranking factor.
Adapting to Panda 4.0
Content Quality Improvement
For those who found themselves on the losing side, the path to recovery involved improving content quality. They revamped existing content and focused on creating fresh, insightful pieces.
Technical Optimization
Website owners had to invest in technical optimization, including faster hosting, mobile-friendly designs, and the removal of intrusive ads.
Natural Link Building
Adopting ethical and natural link-building strategies helped websites regain trust with Google's algorithm.
Conclusion
Panda 4.0 reshaped the SEO landscape, rewarding websites that put user experience and content quality at the forefront. The winners adapted and thrived, while the losers learned valuable lessons about the importance of ethical SEO practices. As Google's algorithms continue to evolve, staying informed and implementing best practices remains crucial for online success.

To everyone who asked, and to everyone who didn't:
Yes. I have somewhere between 1,000 and 2,000 of TwoSet's videos, all in HD quality. LINK BELOW
Earlier this year in 2024, I downloaded every single TwoSet Violin public video from their YouTube and scoured other sites like Bilibili and Facebook to get videos they'd deleted from at least one platform. My goal was to make some fandom compilation videos that'd require going through every video.
I do not have the last few months of 2024 (which I'm kicking myself for... I literally almost did a download update on SUNDAY). But I have almost everything.
2 mil, 3 mil, 4 mil, Fantasia, Hilary Hahn or Ray Chen collabs, Producer Shaun, professional versus beginner, violin charades, that cheeky skit you shared on Facebook in 2016
Their world tour VODs, including my own personal captures of their latest VOD stream
Some of the content from their Facebook kickstarter livestreams that I found from other fans.
I've been collecting all their TikTok videos currently, too. I've downloaded a spattering of their Instagram stories from 2024 and might have a small collection of recent Instagram videos, too.
I do not have everything, but I have a fuckton and I want to share it with as many people as possible, and collaborate with as many people as possible to fill in the missing pieces.
Please contact me if you have your own archives or know people working on other archives. I'm talking with a few people about starting a Google Drive project, but I don't know the big names in the TSV fandom and thus could be missing out on people who've done a lot of other work
It's more likely that this will clear over in the coming days / weeks / month / whatever and we'll have their official channel again. I'm still going to keep believing that. But it doesn't erase the importance of making sure the media we love doesn't become lost media. I have respect for content creators to monitor what does and doesn't stay on their platform, but for the sake of preservation of media, for the sake of helping a community, I want to make sure this archive is in place and widely accessible to TwoSetters.
My current cloud server is VERY MUCH a work in progress. I am in the middle of an extremely busy week and trying to do this around an office job and a half. It will take me time to upload everything, and even more time to organize everything. But the cloud server link is active, and I will keep people updated about the progress of my archiving through a PDF text file (not yet uploaded) in said cloud. If I collaborate with people for Google Drive systems, if I do other backups, I will let people know there and on my other social media accounts.
I am new and naive to Terabox. I started with Terabox because it's free to upload up to a terabyte of content. I think it should be free to download everything in full quality, but I don't know. People should inform me how it works. It's currently -- I'm sorry -- VERY poorly organized and requires Scrolling (TM), but short of that issue (which will be fixed with organization), I hope it gets people what they need.
Also: Reddit has suspended me for a few days lol (really I'm getting a slap on the wrist for how blatantly I was marching about), so if people want to start spreading this link to others in private chats elsewhere with known TwoSetters, the more the merrier! The purpose of this is to be a resource, either short-term or long-term.

🔎Scam Exam(ination)🔍(updated 2/12/25)
Seen as: Selling HRT / Testosterone Scam Type: Fake Product / Fraud
Platform: Tumblr
Accounts running this scam: sirwinz
-----
This scam mostly targets LGBTQ+ individuals, mainly Trans folk who post in such related tags.
Those who do may receive a DM, comment, ask, or any such related contact from another tumblr user who claims to be a certified™ Doctor, Therapist, Pharmacist, ect, who is trying to offer you a 'new and amazing' drug that's not on the market, or a 'cheap alternative medicine' to name brand HRT or Testosterone.
One such account that popped up recently of this is drfelixortega.
Here is what their tumblr page looks like:
Tumblr media
And this is the ask that they are sending users:
(Screenshot taken from this post.)
Tumblr media
If you visit their page, you will only find six posts.
All very generic in nature.
None of which link to any sort of certification or credentials that prove that this person is a 'real' doctor. They just say they are a totally real (no fake) Doctor and expect people to go with it.
Like most scammers usually to do.
Here's another version of where another HRT scammer leaves comments on peoples posts:
Tumblr media
-----
Why this is a scam:
1 - The risk.
Purchasing any sort of drug online from a shady dealer is not only a good way to get scammed, it's a good way to get sick and possibly even die. You have no idea what sort of ingredients are in the pills these supposed Doctors online are trying to sell you.
There was a story that surfaced on my local news station that talked about how in South Korea, capsules were seized that contained the contents of herbs and a mixture of human flesh/DNA.
When tested, the human material was found to belong to infants.
If you wish to read more, you can find the 2015 article here. But be warned, it is very disturbing. (No pictures)
2 - The scam.
I know that getting HRT or even Testosterone can be hard, and I know how the struggle and the desire to truly be yourself can become overwhelming. Your insurance may not pay for it, or you might not even have insurance to begin with, leaving without hope at all in your journey to begin transitioning.
But that still doesn't mean you should believe every offer that seems too good to be true the moment you're offered it online. In more cases than none, you will give these people money, and never receive a product.
Think about these things for a second:
Why would a doctor, surgeon, pharmacist, what have you, be on Tumblr of all places? Why would they browse the trans tag, or other such related tags, to find potential 'clients?' Don't you usually have to make an appointment with a doctor? For your insurance to then pay for to cover your medicine? How can a board certified pharmacist.. be a gender assessment surgeon at the same time? (it's a lie, that's why.)
3 - The truth.
The truth of the matter is, you cannot, unfortunately, get HRT or Testosterone without seeing a doctor for a prescription.
And buying it online from any sort of 3rd party website or manufacturer is simply putting not only your wallet at risk, but your life at risk.
Here is a screenshot taken from this GoodRX article:
Tumblr media
Here is an article on the risks and dangers of buying unregulated / unlicensed HRT. One big one being that they can be contaminated.
And a final, general consensus from google:
Tumblr media
-----
Final Thoughts:
As I've said in a few of my past scam Exam(inations), if something seems too good to be true, it most likely is. I know how life changing something can be and how desperate wanting it can make you, but please don't risk your wallet, or your life, for it.
Remember: These are just words these people offer you.
Ask for proof. In most cases they will not send you any and will get combative that you asked. If they do send you any kind of images, remember, you can reverse image search them to try and find the source. If you get pushy in asking for their credentials they'll probably end up blocking you and just want you to 'trust them' or send you clearly edited photos made in photoshop.
Never give anyone your personal information such as name, adress, phone number, occupation, birth date, SSN, a photo of yourself or your ID, or any kind of credit card information online who is selling you a product, especially if it's via a DM or chatroom type service or e-mail.
And never go to a strange website you don't know or have never heard of without googling it first.
You can also run it through something like VirusTotal to check if any of the big/main websites like Bitdefender or Kaspersky that detect things like phishing, viruses/trojans/maware, and all that fun stuff, have picked up on it being malicious.
Just... Be safe.
Please make sure you think before you talk to people like this.
Take care everyone. <3
----
Disclaimer: Tags are relevant to the content of this post. This is not 'tag spam' or 'unrelated'. I'm just spreading awareness about this scam targeting people taking hormone drugs like HRT which also includes people other than just trans folk. :)

MY GO-TO'S FOR EDITING.
I’ve decided to put together a masterlist of the resources I use, since I get asked about them pretty often. If you're somebody who can’t commission resource makers or you’re just wanting to get into editing or creating commissions yourself, I hope this helps.
pinterest. IMPORTANT NOTICE IF YOU UTILIZE THIS: avoid usings people's art; if you can get permission from an artist to use a piece, that's another discussion. Be warned there may also be ai mixed in, which I've personally got a good eye for spotting; i prefer to go by images i've seen long before the ai craze, since i've been on there for a while. your best bet is looking through miscellenous character boards. From there, you can choose images to blend or even make pngs out of, to give unique flare to your edits.
remove.bg + photokit. if you're looking to save time or don't have a way to cutout images manually ( i sometimes like to use my art tablet if I want to be really precise ), these are good ways to make pngs out of images you find, as opposed to png sites. i prefer this because ive caught adware on png sites before, plus there's also a lot of ai on those as well.
for screencaps, i use google images or youtube, since the quality is higher than anything on pinterest...though, psds are what normally cover up quality issues, from what i've learned. then again, it might depend on the psd. IMPORTANT NOTE IF YOU UTILIZE THIS: If you’re using google Images, searching for actual screencaps might lead you to blogs or websites dedicated to capping—many of which ask for credit if you use their content. Also, avoid reposting people's edits or gifs, since those will inevitably show up when searching faceclaim names and similar tags. on the off chance you find free-to-use faceclaim content, be sure to credit if/when asked !
photopea. it's a great alternative for those of us who can't be assed to learn adope, nor can afford it .
I know it doesn't look like much, but this is genuinely my go-to formula. I don't think there's any need for anything over the top. That said, if you guys have better alternatives or anything to add, feel free—this is just based on my own experience.
ADDITIONAL EDITING TIPS: If you find yourself stumped creatively or unsure how to approach using these, I’d recommend breaking down the character or setting you’re working with in terms of aesthetic. What are some keywords or imagery you associate with that muse ? Take a character like h/arry p/otter, for example—focus on individual visuals, important symbols, and signature colors. For him, I’d think of round glasses, lightning bolts, owls, candles, spell books, brooms, etc. Then, take each of those elements and explore them individually. I’d maybe start by looking up “owls” on Pinterest; from there, I might find images that can be turned into pngs. Repeat that process with every vibe or detail that comes to mind. You don’t have to limit yourself to making pngs either—feel free to experiment by blending different images together and building a look from there.
ADDITIONAL UPDATES/RECOMMENDATIONS:
Screencapped ( * will need an account )
VLC Media Player ( * good for screencaps / things you've downloaded from youtube )
