IKUMA: The Frozen Compass is a coming-of-age story, where you play as cabin boy Sam and his sled dog Ellie who are stranded on an uncharted island in the Arctic in 1864. IKUMA: The Frozen Compass is inspired by the Franklin expedition of 1845 (more on that in a sec, if you’re interested) and Inuit legends and can be played solo or cooperatively. The Franklin expedition set out on a mission to discover a North-West Passage that would connect Europe and Asia in 1845. Their ships, Terror and Erebus, were the best equipped expedition vessels thus far and yet never made it home. The ships and other remainders have only been discovered fairly recently and their disappearance is shrouded in mystery to this day. The story of Franklin and his crew has been fascinating us long before we started development on IKUMA: The Frozen Compass and became our initial inspiration. In the game we’re telling our fictional version of the story through a mystery Sam needs to solve on the island. The Humboldt expedition had been lost and Sam’s crew was tasked to find out what happened when they themselves got into an accident leaving Sam and a single sled dog stranded on the island that happens to be the stage for the final days of the lost Humboldt crew. Sam now has the chance to retrace their steps and uncover a dark secret that led to the expedition’s tragic failure.

PUMA Reveals Top 10 Fan-Designed Kits from First AI Creator Competition with Manchester City
PUMA and Manchester City are excited to announce a global fan vote to decide the club’s official Third kit for the 2026/27 season, following the groundbreaking PUMA AI Creator kit design competition launched in December.
After receiving over 1.6 million ratings from fans on the platform, PUMA and Manchester City have narrowed it down to ten designs that capture the creativity, passion, and spirit of City culture.
Powered by DEEPOBJECTS, a leading AI co-creation platform, the PUMA AI Creator tool first debuted in December. This innovative fan activation saw over 180,000 City supporters from around the world design their dream kits, using text prompts, customisation tools, and intuitive sliders.
Now, the final decision is in the hands of the fans. PUMA and Manchester City are inviting supporters worldwide to vote for their favourite design, which will be worn on the pitch by City stars during the 2026/27 season.
Fans can cast their vote at aicreator.puma.com until 23:59 GMT on January 29th.
In another exciting first for football, Manchester City goalkeepers will wear a unique PUMA AI Creator goalkeeper kit on the pitch during the men’s match against Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium and the women’s match against Aston Villa on January 25th.
This one-of-a-kind kit, inspired by the net of a goal and designed by City players Ederson, Stefan Ortega, and Rico Lewis using the PUMA AI Creator tool, is the first-ever football kit created with AI technology. The limited-edition kit will be available for purchase in City Stores at the Etihad Stadium and Arndale Centre on January 25th, while stocks last.
Ederson, speaking at the launch event in December, shared his excitement about the design process: “It’s the first time I’ve designed a shirt with Stefan and Rico, and I’m so happy to see our shirt on the pitch. The colours are amazing—they remind me of Brazil.”
Serena Gosling, Director of Integrated Fan Experience and Retail & Licensing, added: “We know how passionate our fans are about kits, and it’s been incredibly exciting to let them design their dream City kit using AI. We’ve been blown away by the level of participation and can’t wait to see which design is chosen for our 2026/27 Third Kit. We’re also thrilled to showcase the AI-designed goalkeeper kit on the pitch this weekend and give fans the chance to own this limited-edition piece of history.”
