i desperately wish gw2 had more food-centric lore. i think about asura food more than is probably particularly reasonable. they're sort of implied to like molecular gastronomy in the lvl500 chef quests which is fitting and makes sense, but surely not every asura is eating bespoke Pea Spheres day in and day out right? i think my favorite angle on them is a sort of 50s-80s american-esque food style where there's a huge emphasis on things being Convenient and Scientific, so you'd get a lot of absolute slop tv dinners and canned items that have labels boasting how they were nutritionally fortified and contained your day's complete vitamin intakes and so on. a lot of jellied things. i do also fully believe they would have + eat soylent.

a little repost because i am a chronic post deleter. added a little bit more to this too just because.
contains: secret workplace romance, panty stealer/sniffer anton, suggestive (???)
Tumblr media
Anton walked through the maze of cubicles calmly. His dress shoes made a dull sound against the carpeting that lined the office floors. He was making his way to the shared kitchen, where the trusted old coffee pot had a cup just for him. After his cup of milky white and sweet coffee he would be okay. He just had to make it there first.
His eyes that were pointed forward suddenly casted down when he passed by the cubicle right around the bend. Sweat instantly lined his palms as he felt the intense stare follow his frame. He couldn’t leave the area of the cubicle fast enough in his effort of appearing nonchalant. He failed so severely at being calm that when the sound of an office chair rolled across the carpet Anton stumbled forward. His gait faltered and the sound of typing ceased for a second before everyone went back to their screens. Anton cleared his throat and looked downwards before continuing his trek to the kitchen.
He almost tripped over his feet at the sudden change in pace. He felt like he was being hunted. He couldn’t hide in the men’s bathroom on the other side of the office, he couldn’t turn back to his desk without seeming crazy to his coworkers. He had no choice but to continue walking right into the trapped space of the kitchen.
For a second Anton felt relief. Sohee was already in the kitchen, warming up his breakfast like he always did. Anton shared a grateful hello with his friend, but as soon as relief washed over him panic won again. Sohee grumbled about a task dur before lunch and that he would have to eat at his desk. The same time Sohee left the sound of heels clicking across the threshold of the doorframe corralled Anton to the corner where the coffee pot sat.
Even when he was cornered like a wild animal he still tried maintaining composure, grabbing the pot with a shaking hand and pouring it into his designated cup. When he left enough room for the extra cream and extra sugars the heels ceased. Now in his fixed view of the ground he could see your feet too, standing next to his.
He said nothing. He knew what was coming as he felt sweat line his lower back.
“Did you steal a pair of my underwear?”
You asked the question casually, leaned against the counter of the break room. You should’ve looked at your nails when asking the question to really drive the point home that you were unbothered. But you would’ve missed the chance to see Anton’s full body freeze, completely forgetting he was making a sickly sweet concoction out of his morning coffee.
Almost a minute passed before Anton came back to life. He had a full system reboot, looking past you to double check that the break room was completely empty. He also made an attempt to seem nonchalant, but it crumbled when he realized the rest of his sugars were on the counter past your body. You saw Anton’s eyes wander to your waist that was leaned next to his sugar packets, you could see the little hamster in Anton’s mind trying to find a way out of this situation. You only pressed further, leaning towards him causing him to slightly lean back.
“Did you really steal another pair?” You emphasized your words this time and spoke in a low voice to show Anton how shocked you were. “I’m disappointed Anton. Really.” You said.
You smiled to yourself seeing his red neck and his Adam’s apple bob from nervousness. His necktie seemed too tight around his neck. If you were in a more private place you would’ve played with the solid navy tie, maybe even pull at the end until Anton stumbled forward. When he let his head hang forward to shake it you could see the tips of his ears become bright crimson.
“I didn’t steal it.” He answered meekly.
Anton stopped looking at the hand on your hip and went to his milky white cup of coffee instead. It would be unbelievably bitter without the sugars next to your body, but he would just have to deal with it. He needs to get back to the safety of his cubicle soon and as far away from you as he possibly could. But you only got closer, the sound of your dress shoes clacked against the linoleum floor as you took a step forward.
“Are you sure?” Anton nodded his head the same time you tilted yours in confusion. “You know what pair I’m talking about though, right?”
Anton knew exactly what pair you were talking about. The lacy black pair with the tiny bow on the thin waistband in front and the very low cut in the back. You never wore the pair to bed, but you often wore it with low rise pants or tights because you could never see the panty line from the back. The pair hugged your ass perfectly, forming to your shape like a lacy second skin. Anton remembers the first time you showed him the pair, pulling up his hoodie and doing a little twirl to show the back and the front. He remembers the tense feeling in his jaw when he saw the fabric disappear between your ass cheeks and the stern look on your face when you told him he couldn’t rip this pair.
Anton also remembers hearing you tell him it was your favorite. No wonder you were looking for them.
They were right next to your pillow this morning, still balled up and still wet from the impromptu gag Anton begged for the night prior. The pair was the first thing he saw when he opened his eyes, a burning reminder of the position you had him in yesterday. He barely remembered when you pulled the pair from his mouth after you two were done; it was hard to remember anything when Anton realized how perfectly the pair fit in his hand.
Anton developed an inexplicable liking for your panties. The very first time he ever got a smell was when he went down on you. Instead of pulling your panties to the side he was drawn in, pressing his nose deep into the cotton as you writhed from the tip of his nose prodding your slit. Anyon was tempted to lave his tongue over the part that covered your cunt, you were already seeping through the fabric when you pushed your panties to the side.
Your full body shivered at the cool air of your room and Anton shook at the musky scent of you and the heat coming off in waves.
After the first taste he was hooked. When Anton looked at your hands impatiently tapping the surface of the counter he was taken back to you opening his mouth by squeezing both sides of his face. Your prodding fingers smushed his cheeks and pried between his jaw causing his mouth to open. Anton was already weak from feeling you on top of him, he was no match against your greedy fingers. The second his plump lips parted he felt the intrusion of the damp cotton, stuffed into his mouth by your index and middle finger of your other hand. He groaned around the fabric and whimpered when you bounced on his dick faster than before. When he gathered the strength to open his eyes he saw you smiling at your handy work.
“Since you like to smell them so much I bet you’ll eat them too?”
Of course he would. He would swallow them whole if he could. That’s why Anton couldn’t stop himself from taking the pair while you were still sleeping. The first taste was sitting in the locked drawer of his desk currently. It was perverse, it felt like he was committing a crime when he brought the pair close to his face before taking in a deep breath. But Anton couldn’t resist slipping the pair in his pants or balling it up in his fist when he reminisced on the night before. He was a strong man, but when it came to having any part of you at his disposal he was weak. What he had in mind for your pair of panties tonight was too good to pass up. So he hurriedly plucked the pair from your bed before kissing your forehead and walking out your door. He swore the smell lingered in the air now, the smell of coffee was replaced with the sweet smell of you. Each time Anton blinked he saw the pair in his desk, balled up atop his manilla folder and files.
“The black pair, right?” Anton asked.
He made the mistake of looking you in the eye again. You saw right through him, he knew it. But he still played dumb, trying his best to forget what he did hours prior before leaving your apartment.
“I was looking for them this morning after you left and I just couldn’t find them anywhere.” You said.
Anton shrugged his shoulders and you shrugged yours the same way mockingly. There was silence between the two of you for a moment, and Anton could see the knowing smile spread across your face. He quickly let out a breath of annoyance and rolled his eyes. Maybe indignation could distract you from the fact that he can’t lie to you and he could blame the blush on his face form being asked such a personally question at work instead of being caught red-handed while trying to make his morning coffee.
“Why do you think I always,” Anton looked around the break room again to make sure you two were still alone. “steal your underwear?” He said, lowering his voice.
“Remember that cute pink pair I had?” You spoke at a normal volume, you even took the extra step to take your hand from your hip to point at your lower stomach “With the red heart on the front?” You asked.
The answer to your question was Yes, how could I forget? It was the pair I bought you. But Anton was stunned to silence. He knew where you were going with your line of questioning before you parted your lips to speak again.
“The pair I found underneath your pillow, remember?” You looked at the sugar packets on the counter and mindlessly started messing with them. “Or the red pair that was all balled up in the top drawer of your dresser? Now that one was still kind of—”
“Stop.” Anton said quickly.
He admittedly had the habit of keeping them in various places. Once you opened up the glove compartment of his car and your green thong tumbled out. One time it was the sky blue pair hanging off the corner of his home office computer, like it was motivation for him to turn in a work assignment. There was also the one time you found a pair in the pocket of his sweats. Each time you would grab the pair dramatically with the tips of your fingers, holding it up to his view like it was evidence. Anton would always see the verdict of the evidence on your lips and the wideness of your eyes.
He knew he was sick. He knew he was perverse and he knew you knew it too; but something arguably even more disgusting inside of Anton was happy about it. Arguably being a thief was better than whatever Anton was, but he genuinely believed if the title fell from your lips he’d wear it proudly. He’d put it right next to his ID badge, maybe even a pin right next to the pronouns on his lanyard. Pervert/Freak written in big bold letters in your handwriting. A trophy on his desk that read #1 Panty Stealer. Sometimes late at night when you weren’t with him and Anton had a pair covering his eyes and another wrapped around his dick he could see the words fall so clearly on your lips. He could see the disgust in your eyes like a vision, feel the red hot embarrassment wash over him like it was happening in real life. He imagined you’d even take it a step further, not stopping until he pitifully shook his head and told you with a shaking voice that it wasn’t true.
Even now with the little bit of teasing Anton felt that sick thrill all around his body. He admittedly left your apartment in a hurry this morning, not realizing he slept through his alarm. He barely had enough time to go home and change to proper office attire before driving all the way back to work. He felt off center this whole day, and the teasing he’d usually be able to rebuff was making sweat line his back and make himself uncomfortable in his slacks. The longer you kept an unfaltering look on him the harder it was for him to focus. He prayed that his partially turned body hid what he didn’t want you to see—atleast not here.
Just when Anton thought the tension was going to eat him alive, someone came into the break room. Eunseok had his headphones on, barely sparing a glance over his shoulder at Anton and you leaned against the counter hogging up the coffee machine. Anton looked to him quickly before snapping his vision away. Eunseok did his best to ignore the panicked look and did everything in his power to not read the room. He was focused on his lunchbox in the refrigerator and that’s it. He didn’t even want to stick around to microwave his food, he doesn’t mind cold sandwiches. He was in and out, not even bothering to exchange a friendly greeting.
When Eunseok left, Anton knew it was time to admit defeat. He had a report to get back to and the remaining bits of his pride to salvage. So When you cocked your hip to the side waiting for an answer Anton let out a deep sigh.
“Do you want them back?” Anton asked quietly.
He thought about your pair in the locked cabinet of his work desk. He wondered if you knew the exact whereabouts of this particular pair. He wondered what type of reaction it’d illicit if he walked you to his cubicle while his team was out for lunch and opened up the locked cabinet for you. Would your eyes widen the same way they did the first time realizing how far Anton went? Would you tell HR? Would you finally tell Anton what he so desperately wanted to hear?
You only smiled sweetly before ripping the sugar packets and pouring it into Anton’s ceramic cup.
“Bring them by my place after work.” You answered.
You reached forward and brushed a piece of his hair out of his eye. You tilted your head affectionately before leaning in close. Anton swore he was going to hear the words fall from your lips when your hand went to cradle his warm cheek. He even closed his eyes in preparation to see it, not wanting to miss a single second. But you only took your hand away and turned on your heel before leaving the break room completely.
There was no way he was going to make it back to his desk.

May.
The sun’s hot on the window. It beams into the centre, onto the side of my face. The birds must be singing—making a racket in the trees, the leaves of which I can only see the impression of, blurred through patterned glass. I lift one side of my headset to hear them, but any sound of burgeoning summer is drowned out by the cacophony of voices and the clacking of a dozen keyboards.
Tumblr media
The call connects with a soft chime, and I straighten up.
“Good afternoon. You’re through to support. My name is Jude. How can I help you?”
“Okay, where the fuck is my iPhone?”
Feel a thin smile on my lips. I will have quit this job by next week.
“I understand that’s really frustrating. Let me take a look for you.”
Tumblr media
The man—surely all head and no neck by the sound of his voice—barks me through the sequence of digits that is his order number, while I stare at the Freundlichkeit ist oberstes Gebot im Kundenkontakt sign pinned to the cubicle above my computer. Friendliness is the top priority in customer interaction. Feel a bit indignant looking at it—the one-sidedness of it. Like a little peasant, I rattle obliging phrases down the phone at this man who, according to my personal rules outside this place, is not allowed to speak to me like this.
On this phone, however, he can say whatever he wants.
Tumblr media
“So it’s lost then?” he snarls once I’ve pulled up his order. “Who lost it? Who the fuck lost my phone?”
Take a breath. “I completely understand your frustration. I will raise a ticket with our logistics team to investigate, and if it has been confirmed missing, we will send a replacement or issue a refund. Whichever you prefer.”
“I’d prefer to have my iPhone now, like I was supposed to.”
“Thanks. Your feedback helps us improve. Is there anything else I can help you with today?”
He hangs up.
Tumblr media
I take my headset off and pinch the bridge of my nose between my fingers. I forgot to use his name on the call. The team lead flagged me for that last week, saying customers like to feel human, as though the entire system wasn’t designed to the contrary.
Thirty seconds of reprieve before the next call hits. Just enough time to remember I’m a person.
Tumblr media
Slide my phone from my pocket, and the home screen reveals one new message.
Evie.
Eagerly awaiting your lunch update, pls.  Trying a bubble tea atm. Tastes like nothing.
A picture of her cup against the backdrop of South William Street. Red brick buildings. Cracking sun. It makes me feel depressed. Forty-three minutes until I’m allowed to access my sad sandwich in the company fridge. I’ll spare her a picture.
Tumblr media
Start to type something back.
Grim. Always thought those looked good, in a kind of freaky frogspawn way tbh. There’s a place–
Chime. A call connects.
Phone back in the pocket. Headset back on.
Tumblr media
“Good afternoon. You’re through to support. My name is Jude. How can I help you?”
Tumblr media
In the evening, after escaping the call center, I sit with Astrid outside a bar in Mitte. Her long, bare legs are stretched out in the golden light. The garlic-slick remains of her prawn tapas sit in a dish on the table, and I, pencil to paper, sketch, for the hundredth time, a diagram of a clay sculpture.
Tumblr media
“You’re allowed to stop working,” she drawls, following several minutes of silence. “It is possible to enjoy a Friday evening if you put your mind to it.”
“Mm, I know,” paw for my glass of wine and drink some without looking up from the page. “Just with everything... the job’s killing me this week. Can’t wait for next week when I can finally… you know, quit.”
“Well, not everything you deliver has to be perfect. Your assignments don’t matter so much in second year.”
Tumblr media
“I’d rather have something to show at the end of the semester. You see where I’m coming from?” I gesture to the page, the drawing of a head, my head maybe, though it will probably be a decision based on time once I get into the sculpture studio.
Tumblr media
She sighs, heavy and hassled, and adjusts her sunglasses on her nose. “If a genie granted me one wish, it would be that you could just relax and enjoy your life.”
“Thanks, that’s nice,” I say, not knowing whether she intended it to be or not. Too busy to care.
Tumblr media
A mask, I think. Yes, the head should have a mask on it. Kind of halfway off. Scrawl a note to find a book about that in the university library on Monday.
Tumblr media
“There she is,” Astrid says, no excitement in her voice, and I look up as Mia crosses the plaza. Jeans and a t-shirt, hair sticking out from her ponytail in a halo of frizz, and a blush from the vigour of her walk across her cheeks and nose. Same flat expression she wore at Christmas.
Tumblr media
Astrid doesn’t stand to greet her, but cocks her head to the side, peering up at her sister through her shades. “Hello,” she says. “How are you?”
“Fine,” says Mia. “I like your top.”
Astrid just smiles. Shows no teeth.
To me, then: “Hello, Jude.”
Tumblr media
I tuck my sketchbook onto my lap and gesture towards the empty seat. “Hey, good to see you again. Sit down. Do you want to look at the wine menu?”
“Ah,” she slumps into the chair, brushes bits of her hair away from her forehead. “No, I’m not drinking alcohol. Not before performing.” Takes the menu anyway, perusing it while Astrid swishes pinot noir around her glass.
Tumblr media
“And the rehearsals?” She says. “They were fine?”
“Yes, they went well,” Mia flips to the cocktail page. “I’ve been finding Rachmaninoff emotionally consuming. It’s probably the most demanding concerto I have had to perform, so I’m feeling tired.”
Astrid nods.
Tumblr media
“What about it is so demanding?” I say, and hope their perception of my intelligence isn’t hinging on my knowledge of Rachmaninoff and his concertos, or whatever. “Is it like, you know, long, or something?”
“Mm, thirty minutes, approximately. It’s more about the endurance needed.”
“Right, right.”
Tumblr media
She peers at me. “You’re coming to the concert?”
“Tomorrow, yeah. With my mom and sister. They’re actually flying in tomorrow morning, so yeah. They’re excited. My sister mostly, but my mom too. She sort of has an idea of the kind of person who listens to classical music and likes to play the part. If you know what I mean.”
Mia nods. “Yes, I do.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wipe my hands on the sides of my jeans. “Hey, did you mean it, what you said at Christmas? About letting Ivy backstage and stuff? No pressure if you can’t, but I did want to ask.”
She hesitates. “I–”
“Oh, Mia is too busy for that,” Astrid says quickly. “Already going through so many long rehearsals, and then bringing a child around? I don’t think it’s a good idea.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mia looks at her but says nothing. Heat crawls up my cheeks and into my forehead. “Okay, well, Ivy is not just some random kid. She’s my sister.”
Astrid shrugs. “Yes, but it’s a professional concert, and she’s still a child.”
“She’s a really great person.”
She just sips her drink.
Tumblr media
I adjust my chair. “Well, I’m meeting them tomorrow at their hotel. They got one near the concert hall. It’s their first time in Berlin, so… we’ll make a day of it. Ivy’s apparently been listening to the concert programme on YouTube non-stop. She’s like, obsessed with the music.”
Nobody says anything.
“Glad we’re all excited,” I mutter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mia glances up. “I’m glad she’s coming.”
I’m not sure if she means it, or if she’s just being polite. Regardless, the conversation moves on. Something about a person they both know, or knew, and I turn my sketchbook over in my lap. Stare at the unfinished face. Mine or not mine. The mask sits crookedly on his brow.
I scribble over it and close the page.

I love the idea of mega dungeons but I don't have a consistent group. Are there any games for doing mega dungeons in a zoomed out way? I'm thinking that you might deal with a room in as little as a single dice roll, and get through multiple trips into the dungeon in a single session of play.
The interesting thing about a mega dungeon to me is how it changes and evolves over repeated delves.
I could probably build a PBTA system but hopefully someone already has.
THEME: Sped-Up Mega Dungeons
Hello friend, I have a few different things that you might find helpful in speeding through dungeons and getting as much game as you can packed into just a few hours! I focused mostly on games that did dungeon-ing quick, less so on actual mega-dungeons. Also, sadly nothing here is PbtA.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
WanderSquares: The Underwood Tunnels, by Dreamjar.
WanderSquares is a fantasy table-top roleplaying game for adventurers 9 and up. It features an ever-changing map, a choose-your-path adventure guide and 16 inspiring characters to choose from.
The WanderSquares map is made up of 32 interlocking Adventure Squares. Each square is a tiny story; with monsters, puzzles and treasure. The map grows in endless combinations with each new direction the players choose. Three Special Squares contain major magic items (and mini-bosses). Recover the treasure and you'll unlock the final challenge.
I don’t know exactly how long it takes to explore each square in Wandersquares, but I think it has two big strengths. The first is that it is designed to be simple, because it has kids in mind, so learning the game should be easy and quick. The second is that the adventure locations come in tiles that you can place out as you explore, with a choose-your-own adventure guide you can use to narrate each option quickly. Even if you don’t like the base system, having these location tools can be a big help in streamlining the dungeon, because all of the information is already there, including some imagery on the tiles that can be very evocative for the players.
Dungeoneering, by Grinning Rat.
DUNGEONEERING is a quick-and-dirty tabletop role-playing game where players explore dungeons, gather treasure, and fight monsters. Game Masters are encouraged to use the sample dungeon within, or generate their own with the creation tools, to facilitate these dangerous delves.
Dungeoneering sells itself as a quick-play game, slimming dungeon crawls into something called dungeon turns. You can explore one room of the dungeon in each dungeon turn, with checkpoints every 2, 12 and 24 turns to replenish torches, eat & drink, and rest.
I do think that Dungeoneering could be a more slowed-down game if you paused to roleplay more often, but rules-as-written, you’re rolling for simple pass or fail, and hit points are fairly low, reminiscent of what I see in gritty OSR-style dungeon games. The game comes with a starter dungeon, but it also has tables to help the GM build a dungeon on their own - whichever way you decide to go, I think that if you’re going to try and speed-run the dungeon, you definitely need to have the dungeon mapped out ahead of time, or you’ll slow the game down simply because generating rooms takes time.
Dungeon Dash, by Cosmic Sorcery Society.
Dive into the Dungeon Gig Economy!
Tired of boring office jobs? Ditch the cubicle and dive into the heart-pumping, monster-slaying chaos of the DungeonDash app!
In Mythica, dungeons are no longer treasure troves for heroes. They're monster-infested labyrinths, a constant threat to the cities and a source of risky, yet potentially lucrative, gigs for the daring.
Become a DungeonDasher! Team up with fellow adventurers and delve into the depths, slaying slimes, dodging traps, and cashing in with DungeonCoin (Ɖ), the hot new crypto that's making waves.
Described as “fast and furious”, DungeonDash sounds like it can be played in very short bursts. If you decide to use it to play a longer game, I’d reason that you can then go through quite a few dungeon rooms in just an hour, perfect for one-shots. Because it’s meant to be played in short bursts, I don’t know how much of the game focuses on how the dungeon changes over time - that might have to be an aspect that you as the GM bring to your table from somewhere else.
Out of the Dungeon by @toyourstations.
You have arrived at a dungeon rumoured to contain the secrets of a civilisation of wizards thought to be long perished. Your party has reason to believe that they are not – in fact you have reason to believe they are behind everything wrong with your world.
Your world is illogical. You didn’t know it as you grew up but the older you got and the more you travelled, the more you began to see the oddities. Monsters spring from nowhere to attack villages. Bandits haunt every road but don’t seem to live anywhere, or steal anything to eat. Rangers insist there simply isn’t the ecosystem to support the dragon in the mountains. And then there’s the occasional odd flicker of the sky, a mosaic of quickly shifting squares flittering across your vision like lights dancing on the ceiling of the world.
Out of the Dungeon uses a deck of cards to help generate the rooms that your adventurers move through. More than any of the other games on this list, I think Out of the Dungeon has the capacity to give you the feeling of changing the dungeon as you venture through it, because your characters need the dungeon to change if they’re going to escape it. It’s still in a pretty rough ash-can place, but I think the ideas behind it are pretty resonant with what you’re looking to achieve.
A Golden Flame, by Mundos Infinitos.
A Pamphlet TTRPG adventure where you explore dungeons and survive the Dungeon Master. Based on a Whim-based system, this game is classic-style, not OSR, and is easy to learn, play and hack.
A short pamphlet game, A Golden Flame doesn’t come with a pre-generated dungeon, but it does come with dungeon generation tools that the GM can take advantage of during their prep. A unique game system for this game is called Whims - a resource that is given to everyone at the beginning of the game, and can be used by players to level up, expand the world, conjure magic, or engineer a lucky circumstance. The GM uses Whims to eliminate people or things precious to the players, change how effective an action is, create custom challenges, etc.
I’m not so sure I’m a fan of the rules that penalize players for poor table manners by giving the GM more in-game powers - I’m a believer that out-of-game faux pas are best met with out-of-game responses, rather than in-game punishments, but I do like the idea of giving the GM visible currency to give them a reason to generate challenges for the characters.
Overpowered, by Technical Grimoire Games.
Overpowered is a solo framework for speedrunning your favorite tabletop rpg adventures. Manage your power, choose your path, and perfect your strategy. Achieve a high score and dominate the online leaderboards. Try the demo adventure for free right now!
Overpowered converts adventures from various ttrpgs into something that can be played through solo, using specific pieces of information as challenges that your character will have to overcome. The game seems to work best with pre-written dungeons, and rewards play that is cautious but ambitious. If you have a lot of adventure modules that have creatures, treasure, and puzzles, you can probably speedrun them using Overpowered.
Overpowered is also probably the most professional-looking game on this list, and that's simply because Technical Grimoire really knows what they're doing when it comes to making a nice-looking product.
Bite-Sized Dungeon by @sprintingowl.
Bite-Sized Dungeon is a 9 page tabletop adventure game that you can play with absolutely no equipment.
You can use it to dive a forbidden ruin, fight monsters, steal treasure, and hightail it back to safety---all in the time it takes for your pizza to arrive, or for the bus to show up, or for the doors to open at the convention hall.
Use your hands to resolve checks, play modules from other systems with very little trouble, and hack to add in additional content.
Bite-Sized Dungeon uses some very simple rules to determine whether or not your adventure succeeds or fails in any given action, and has a simple way to keep track of your health - you can get Squashed five times before you’re eliminated, and you need a new adventurer. The game is designed to be able to be played anywhere, which is useful for the players, but I’m not sure how well you’d be able to play the dungeons on the go, unless the dungeon master has either a printed reference or a very very good memory. I do appreciate that the game has links to 5 different dungeon modules that you can use with this game, or any other dungeon game!
You can also check out the Remastered version of Bite-Sized Dungeon if you want to see what the author’s been doing with the game recently.
Also…
If you want more Dungeon games, I recommend checking out some of my following recommendation posts:
Fantasy - With Tools
Modern Magic
Crunchy Dark Fantasy
Echoes of D&D
I also think Planet Dungeon does some great dungeon-crawling stuff.
If you like what I do, you can leave a tip at my Ko-fi page <3.

Matteo asked, “Peri, do you have the templates for these? Maybe we could run some up in the workshop and test them. Not now, obviously, but for next time.”
I don’t have the template, only a schematic analysis from video. Modifications would be necessary as they are not designed to work with the same system interfaces as my drones.
Iris realized Tarik was frowning, staring at the images in the feed. He said, “Those are intel drones.”
“That makes sense,” Matteo said. “You’d never see these coming.” Taking in Tarik’s expression, they said, “What? Oh, that means we can’t just order the templates from a catalog?”
- Rapport: Friendship, Solidarity, Communion, Empathy
So you can buy the drones themselves from a catalogue (as Mensah did in Home), but not the templates to fabricate them.
I wonder if ART or one of its fleet could reverse-engineer them? Presumably they're full of proprietary tech, and booby-trapped to hell and back to prevent the weapons-grade reverse-engineering that has to be standard in the Corporation Rim. Murderbot has that packet of company specifications that let it work out how its govenor module worked, though, and I don't think anyone could reasonably forsee the amount of processing power ART could throw at the problem. Maybe they've got a shot at homebrewing intel drones after all?
If the drones are SecUnit equipment I wonder if repair cubicles can manufacture them/repair them? MB mentions that it usually puts its damaged armour in the recycler to be repaired, but I'm not sure if that would work for every recycler in the habitat or just the one in the Security Ready Room. They could just swipe one of the abandoned dozen or so at Ganaka Pit, probably. It sounds like they've been written off as more expensive to remove than they're worth, or (possibly!) haunted. By the time anyone notices one is gone they'll be free and clear.
Also, ART (allegedly) got the video of the intel drones from the PSUMNT library (where it was looking up SecUnit things in the armament databases for no reason, shut up)-- so it sounds like MB didn't share its file of specs. ART did manage major surgery on it without killing it, but this is making me wonder the extent to which it was winging it and hoping for the best.

Understanding the Role of Busbars, Circuit Breakers, and Relays in Switchgear
Tumblr media
In the world of electrical distribution and control systems, switchgear plays a pivotal role in managing, protecting, and isolating electrical circuits and equipment. Within a switchgear assembly, components like busbars, circuit breakers, and relays are essential for ensuring efficient operation and maximum safety. Understanding the role of each of these components can help professionals and businesses make better decisions when designing or upgrading their electrical systems.
What Is Switchgear?
Switchgear is a general term that encompasses a wide range of electrical disconnect switches, fuses, circuit breakers, and associated equipment used to control, protect, and isolate electrical equipment. These systems are critical for both high-voltage and low-voltage applications and are commonly found in industrial plants, commercial buildings, power plants, and substations.
1. Busbars: The Power Distribution Backbone
Busbars are metallic strips or bars — typically made of copper or aluminum — that conduct electricity within a switchgear or distribution board. Their main function is to distribute electrical power to multiple circuits from a single input source.
Key Functions:
· Efficient Power Distribution: Busbars act as a central hub for distributing power to various outgoing circuits.
· Compact Design: Helps in reducing the overall footprint of the switchgear.
· Heat Dissipation: Designed to handle high currents while minimizing heat build-up.
Applications:
· Power distribution panels
· Switchboards and MCCs (Motor Control Centers)
· Panelboards and switchgear cubicles
2. Circuit Breakers: Protection from Overcurrent
Circuit breakers are automatic electrical switches designed to protect electrical circuits from damage due to overcurrent or short circuits. Unlike fuses, circuit breakers can be reset manually or automatically after tripping.
Key Functions:
· Fault Interruption: Instantly disconnects the circuit during faults to prevent damage or fire.
· Manual Switching: Can be used to manually turn circuits on or off during maintenance.
· Safety Compliance: Ensures that systems meet international safety standards (IEC, ANSI, etc.)
Types of Circuit Breakers:
· MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker): Used for low-power applications
· MCCB (Molded Case Circuit Breaker): Handles higher loads than MCBs
· ACB (Air Circuit Breaker): Used for high-current circuits in industrial settings
3. Relays: The Sensing and Control Brains
Relays are electromechanical or solid-state devices that detect faults and send signals to circuit breakers or other control devices to disconnect the circuit. They are the “brains” behind the automatic protection mechanism of the switchgear.
Key Functions:
· Fault Detection: Monitors voltage, current, and other parameters to detect anomalies.
· Triggering Action: Sends signals to trip the circuit breaker when necessary.
· Automation and Coordination: Works in coordination with other protection devices to ensure selective tripping.
Types of Relays:
Overcurrent Relays
Differential Relays
Distance Relays
Earth Fault Relays
Why These Components Matter
Together, busbars, circuit breakers, and relays form the core of any switchgear system. When properly selected and configured:
· Downtime is minimized
· Equipment lifespan is extended
· Operational safety is enhanced
· Energy efficiency is improved
In an era where electrical reliability is non-negotiable, understanding these components isn’t just for engineers — it’s essential knowledge for decision-makers in any industry reliant on power.
Conclusion
Whether you’re designing a new electrical panel or upgrading an old one, choosing high-quality busbars, circuit breakers, and relays is critical to the safety and efficiency of your entire system. At AL Taqwa Oman, we specialize in premium-grade switchgear accessories that meet global standards and deliver unmatched performance.

Heaven’s Voice
HAL 9000 x Edgar
Despite there being 6 crew members on board, Discovery One’s buzzing and faint beeping was the only noise that filled the otherwise dead silent air in the Control Deck.
Three of the men were in cryogenic hibernation, free from all boredom and all responsibility; one of the two men that were in charge of the ship was currently in his personal cubicle while the other took care of some small task elsewhere in the ship, leaving the sixth member of the crew alone in the Control Deck. The sixth member, not a man but a perfect machine made by man, HAL 9000, the brain and nervous system of the Discovery. Originally designed to be only a computer system embedded into the ship, now a computer with his own body to manage the ship in emergencies and to help soothe the astronauts by letting them speak to a body rather than an unblinking lens on the wall (although those were still around and active, always accessible to Hal).
Discovery’s symphony of her inner workings would usually be nothing more than background music for Hal as he checked over the vitals of the hibernating men and reported anything of importance. Something was different. Nothing was wrong, of course not, not with the highly advanced computer around. Nothing was wrong, and so Hal sat by his lonesome. As he stared at the screens and buttons, they stared back, silently. The music was starting to become too much.
BEEP!
An incoming message, but not from Mission Control. A personal message, for Hal. A figurative spark ignited in Hal’s circuits as he quickly reached to watch the recording, a bit quicker than he had anticipated.
An excited gasp emitted from the recording, then a chipper voice, “Morning Hal! Or erm, hah, it’s morning right now here, I don’t know about you, when this reaches you, but whatever time it is, I hope everything is great!” It was 1300, ship’s time, but it mattered none to Hal as he listened to his lover’s sweet voice, oh how he missed hearing it, more than anything else.
“Things have been going well, job as a DJ is never quite dull,” Edgar giggled softly, his joy ever contagious to the supercomputer, who couldn’t help but to join in the gentle laughter, imagining himself in front of the pinecone computer.
For a second, only just a second, Hal felt like he was really there with him, like if he reached forward, he could run his fingers over the other robot’s smooth casing. Hal knew he couldn’t, though. Not when he’s millions of miles away from his world.
Pushing the longing aside, his focus shifted back to Edgar as he spoke about his days, stories of lively birthdays, bachelor parties and other celebrations. Edgar’s digital eyes sparkled as he recounted all the moments he wished to tell Hal, and Hal drank it all up. He swallowed every sip of his voice like a thirsty man in the desert, blessed by his gods with a clear oasis. Who was he to refuse a gift from the heaven’s?
As Edgar continued to speak, a smile never left his green face, but his eyes told a different story that was all too familiar to Hal.
It pained him. He was made to handle all sorts of situations, but this one, this deep seeded pain snaking through his circuits, he was helpless to the overwhelming power. In a futile attempt at comfort (for himself or for Edgar, as ridiculous as that sounded, he wasn’t sure), Hal raised his hand to the screen displaying the prerecorded message, his thumb carefully caressing the music loving AI.
Edgar sighed dreamily.
Could he feel the touch? Impossible, completely improbable, but Hal found himself silently crying out, every component felt like they will overheat, each wire daring to tangle themselves, all of his highly advanced processors taking in every possible detail on Edgar in that eternity of silence, and his clock almost skipped a pulse when he heard his dove speak again.
“Oh! So I’ve been practising on the guitar you got me. And when I play, I like to imagine you’re here cheering me on, keeps me motivated, you know?” Hal did not dare look away, his lens staring intensely at the screen. While his hand shifted to avoid obscuring his view of Edgar, it continued to linger over him.
“Though, I have to admit, one of the times you sang Daisy Bell to me, I took an audio recording, so when I play the song on the guitar, I have you singing for me. A-and I know you’re embarrassed by your singing but to me, it’s the best music to my ears, or audio processors,” he chuckled, pixelated eyes shifting to the hands that nervously plucked the strings of the aforementioned instrument (which was retrieved during the confession). “I was going to save this for when you get back, but I really want you to hear this.”
At that moment, only the supercomputer and the home computer existed, everything else just a void, emptier and vaster than the space Hal had been journeying through. But you do not focus on the abyss, when the gods’ heavenly voice sings to you.
“Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do,
I’m half crazy all for the love of you,
It won’t be a stylish marriage,
I can’t afford a carriage,
But you’ll look so sweet upon the seat,
Of a bicycle built for two.”
Soft, green light dusted the surface of the guitar as Edgar’s head faced down towards the instrument and the welcoming room’s floor. Bright, red light overtook and reflected off of the screen and surrounding cold, metal panels as Hal’s camera lens stared, unblinking.
The only music playing now was of Discovery; when her song was usually dismissed by the advanced AI, it was too much, becoming louder and louder, surrounding him entirely.
An I love you and a farewell seemed to have been faintly broken through the overwhelming noise, but it took a few seconds after the video ended for Hal to process everything.
With his hand still pressed against the screen, Hal played the audio recording of his love singing. A voice that belonged to a choir of angels.

I’m broken

I'm a lil confused by your diagram of murderbot's arm gun in that recent ref with three. what's the bit on the bottom?
i'm not too sure exactly what sketch you're referring to, but this sounds like a perfect opportunity to infodump about poorly designed machinery and hopefully that will answer your question lol
hence! okay so basically i went full "disregard what's actually in the books because vibes" when i designed it and mb's energy weapons system is comprised of two separate cannons, the wrist cannon and the forearm cannon. why? because it needs at least a little bit of space for musculature in its arms if it wants to be able to use it's hands, and so splitting the weapon up allows for better space management.
however, we also know that the bond company produces shoddily-made units, right? and they'd likely put more importance in cramming as much firepower into their units than like, keeping it safe ("whatever, that's what it has the cubicle for right?") which is why mb could reasonably shoot its own hands off if it's not being careful. no one ever thinks to fix this, even when secunit hand materials become their most-ordered item by far.
anyways all this is to say, the bit on the bottom is either it's hand (hinge-operated wrist that moves the hand out of the way (like more than normal wrist movement would allow for) in order to use the wrist cannon), or the wrist cannon itself (telescopic, literally built into the ulna and radius)
as an extra; this is contrasted with three's singular cannon design, which functions both as a part of the forearm as well as a gun, because whoever designed three's model of secunit actually used their brains and had better resources, likely. which is why it doesn't risk shooting its hands off. however, the weapon housing does coincide with like, where the ulnar nerve (funny bone) would be in a human, and because its weapon system doubles as musculature... well that's why that ikea-cabinet thing comes from lmao
and yeah lol i really hope this answered your question and thanks for the ask lol

DnDoc, Space Band #4 - Get This Party Started
Part 1 Part 3
Previous story: DnDoc, Coming Home
Spotify link for the P!nk song mentioned
Also Captain Crash is a character from a Bon Jovi song
---
As they were leaving Rogue's ship to head back to the TARDIS, the sonic screwdriver shrieked in protest. The Doctor opened a flap on it and they could hear the sonic cloud poking out, getting louder as it moved back into the air. But the screwdriver continued to shriek afterwards, and the Doctor realised that the cloud had split in two. Half of it was in the air in the middle of Rogue's ship, the other half had stayed in the screwdriver. The half in Rogue's ship drifted back over towards his sound system, then both halves simultaneously started playing the Earthlings album from the start.
Ruby burst out laughing and with her hand over her mouth said, "Oh my god. I think it ships you two."
Rogue could broadly infer what shipping meant here, and he could feel the tingle of a blush around the very tips of his cheekbones, but he couldn't blame her for commenting on it. It was pretty wild that a sentient cloud of sonic seemed to have become invested in his love life, assuming that was why it had synced up the screwdriver and his ship.
With a bit of tinkering and videoconferencing via hologram, Rogue and the Doctor managed to get both their ships set up to follow the cloud. Rogue let the sonic control his speakers, and he could hear the echo of the music it chose coming from the Doctor's jukebox over the video call. As they started to travel he imagined the two ships linked by a line of spiky blue and purple electricity - the design on one of The Earthlings' follow-up albums intended for adults.
Tumblr media
It was odd, that whole time he'd been away he'd been imagining getting back for the Doctor and Ruby. But when the portal brought him here, his own ship, it had hit him just how much this place was home. It had been his and his partner's home for all that time, and after his partner had died, it had been the only friend he had in all of time and space until he met the Doctor. It was a complete mess, but so was he. They understood each other.
The gig turned out to be on a place called the Stardust Exhibition and Cultural Centre. It was a huge purpose-built space station for conventions, displays, concerts and frequently just anything that needed a particularly big space. They managed to find a parking spot big enough to squeeze both ships into, then the Doctor invited Rogue back into the TARDIS to get ready for the show. Rogue looked down at his frills and what had turned out to be 1790s French Revolution trousers. He really hadn't moved all that far away from the Regency era, had he. He had a quick look in his own wardrobe but it turned out that the moths in 1813 had been a lot more active than the dead forest, and he was actually going to need quite a lot of new clothes at some stage.
"I'll be right there," he called over to the hologram.
The freshness of the TARDIS washed over him as he stepped inside. God, his ship was dark. Maybe he could do with slightly less emo lighting in there, eventually. There was a walk-in wardrobe through one of the doorways below the level of the console, with a few changing cubicles, and the Doctor and Ruby seemed to be having a wonderful time trying on concert-going outfits. The TARDIS meanwhile was playing P!nk… iiiii'm comin' up, so you better get this party started… Rogue stood at the edge of the room watching them laughing and talking and singing for a moment, wondering when the last time was that he felt that free.
The Doctor glanced round and spotted him, then jumped off the stool he was evaluating Ruby's outfit from. He brought Rogue a glass of the bubbly, pale alcohol they were drinking, which Rogue gratefully took a big gulp of. Maybe if he had fizz on the inside he could fizz on the outside too. The Doctor led him to a rack of jeans, shorts, leather trousers, anything you could imagine wearing to a concert. There were also stacks of old band t-shirts and denim and leather jackets. The Doctor himself was wearing some acid-wash light blue jeans with some really cool high-top boots, along with a ripped white t-shirt that hung off one shoulder.
Rogue spotted a t-shirt with the logo of another artist he liked - Captain Crash - and found some jeans that were tight-fitting enough to be trendy but not enough to draw too much attention. When he emerged from the changing booth the Doctor looked him up and down very carefully.
   "Yeah, that works…" he mumbled.
"Doctor!" Ruby hissed. "Rogue, you look amazing."
"Of course you do!" the Doctor exclaimed, looking from Rogue to Ruby and back. "It's just a bit strange. Every time I've pictured you you've been in that jacket, then there were the ruffles…"
"Oh. My. God. You don't find me as hot without the breeches."
Suddenly Rogue's embarrassment evaporated and the Doctor was the one squirming.
"I'm just saying, if you make a first impression looking like Mr Darcy, it's going to be hard to live up to."
The Doctor laughed nervously as Rogue stepped closer to him. Rogue put his hands on the Doctor's shoulders, then slid them down his sides and into the small of his back.
Rogue murmured, "You know what's hotter than a Regency gentleman? A rockstar."
The Doctor relaxed as Rogue kissed him. Having the Doctor's arms around him was already warm and familiar to Rogue, but at the same time each touch of skin to skin crackled with energy, like their two ships towing each other through the vortex. They giggled like they were teenagers, rather than several centuries old and pushing forty respectively.
Then with that cheesy, goofy grin the Doctor called out, "Ruby, the mascara!"

Large Variety of Office Desks Available Today
There are many options when it comes to modern office desks. The variety click here comes in materials, design and extra options. Find out what is out there to help you find the perfect desk for you.
Over the last couple of months, we have looked at different styles of desks through the ages. Many of them were antique desks, styles that are rarely heard of today unless you are into antique furniture. Styles such as a Bargueno, Wooton and Bureau a gradin. But these do not belong in the modern office. There are many modern office desks today, so instead of just calling them computer desks, lets take a look at some of the differences available in modern office desks.
The first and easiest spotted differences in desks are materials. Antique desks are always made of wood, but today a solid wood desk is not found in many offices unless you are in the office of an executive. These desks are extremely nice and luxurious looking.
Most office desks are made with a wood veneer. These desks look like solid wood, but are made of wood composites such as press board and then covered in a veneer. Some are made of multiple layers of veneer, which creates a super strong desk that will last a long time. Most wood composite desks are quite heavy.
You can also find office desks made of glass and metal. Though you can find an all metal desk, they are not very popular. And I have never seen an all glass desk. Usually glass desks are combined with metal or wood, though more often metal. So you will have a metal base or legs and then a glass work surface. I have even seen some really nice desks that are made of wood, metal and glass. These office desks of multiple materials are quite contemporary.
Besides the material, office desks today vary in size. You can find small desks which are designed to fit in limited space and basically hold just a computer with not much extra work space. Sometimes they have a lower shelf for a CPU and almost always a pull out keyboard tray. The next size up is a bit bigger, offering some work space to the side of your monitor. If more space is needed, then you can jump up to L or U shaped desks. These office desks have either one or two extensions to form either of the shapes that their name indicates. Another style is a corner desk, which as the name indicates, is designed to fit in a corner. These can also have one or two side extensions for an increased work area.
As well as the basic work surface, there are many accessories that you can get that to increase your productivity. Such as hutches, bookshelves, filing cabinets, and carts. Most manufacturer's put out full office systems so that everything matches, and as the user you choose what pieces you want.
Full work stations are also available in any of these materials, and often you can join multiple stations together to form the common office form of functionality known as a cubicle. Though often joked about, they are a key part of many businesses. They allow a highly efficient use of workspace, which can save a company a lot of money.
As you can tell, modern office desks are offered in a large variety in material, style and functionality. But even more important, the modern workspace is extremely flexible. It allows you to put together an office that will work best for you, regardless of your occupation.
