DMMd keyboard shortcuts
Hello! If you right-click during the game and pull out the game menu, you'll see the hot-keys corresponding to each action.
To save and load, simply press "D". A complete(?) list is under the cut. :)
Spacebar - hide text
A - auto text
Ctrl (or Cmd for Mac) - skip text
N - nitro skip (jumps to the next choice or last read scene)
B - back to last/previous choices
D - save and load
S - quick save
L - quick load (to load you last quick save)
G - glossary
F - full screen (in-game)
C - configuration
T - back to title screen or main menu
Esc - exit game
M - to check the progress of what route you’re on (not sure on this one but it's listed on here) upon checking, this simply brings up the game menu. it's an alternative for right-click action.
Hope this helps!

Mounting .ISO files
Hello~ This is in reply to asks sent by inuotaku, otomegamingmarathon, and inkstainedmoony. I have answered a similar ask here. A very long answer is under the cut. :)
tl;dr Mounting ISO files on Mac is very easy. Simply double-click on the ISO file to mount it. Alternative ways are suggested in this site. Remember to mount the ISO first then look for the setup .exe file.
As I am unsure how to go about answering these question, please forgive me if I sound rude or something. Must be stress. I'll try to answer them to my best of ability.
Mounting? What?
An ISO file contains the image of a disk, or replica of the data from an optical disk. For the game to work, you have to let your computer access the data within the ISO. How? By mounting or opening it. What do I mean by mounting an ISO file? I can't define it myself but our good friend Google helped me :)
To mount an ISO file means to access its contents as if it was recorded on a physical medium and then inserted in the optical drive. If you downloaded a software in the form of an ISO image and want to install it, mounting it will be faster and easier than recording it on an actual disc. - WinCDEmu
Basically, it's inserting a CD without the actual thing. The same principle applies for Mac. For the system to access the installation data within the ISO file, you have to directly mount it without having to burn the data to a physical CD.
I know, it's kinda confusing. Let's just think it this way: ISO is like a compressed file--a zip or rar. In order to have access to the files within the compressed folder, you have to open or extract it. By mounting the ISO, you are able to open it without having to extract it. Now the difference between extracting and mounting? Extracting: taking out copies of the files within the zip/rar. Mounting: peeking and accessing the files inside the compressed folder.
Are you familiar with DMG files?
A DMG file is a disk image, which is sort of like an archive file. When you download one, you can double-click it to “mount” it, allowing you to extract the application from inside it. For example, let’s say you wanted to install Google Chrome on your Mac. You’d visit Google’s Chrome download page and download the file — it would be a DMG file. You’d then double-click the DMG file and a window would appear with the Application and a link to your Applications folder. - howtogeek
ISO files, when mounted, work exactly the same.
If you look closely, you’ll see that the DMG file is mounted under Devices in the finder. The window with the the application icon is basically just a Finder (file browser) window that contains several things — the application file (here, Google Chrome), a link to the Applications folder on your computer, and some sort of background image that tells you to drag and drop the icon. - howtogeek
In the case of ISO files, what is inside are not application file. Instead, ISO files contains the installation data (for the purpose of this article) of the game--i.e. Setup.exe, Autorun.inf, data.npa, etc. ISO files, once mounted, can be ejected similar to DMG files.
You can “eject” the disk image by clicking the Eject button under Devices in the finder or Command-clicking its desktop icon and selecting Eject. You can then delete the DMG file by moving it to the Trash. - howtogeek
Have I lost you? I hope not ^^;
How do I do it? I mean, how do I mount the ISO file?
Simple! Double-click on the ISO file. Or, right-click then Open. Or, use advanced methods described here. Viola! You can now access the contents of the ISO file, and so will the system and Wineskin. Do you need pictures to show the steps? Nah. But here's a video showing how to do it.
Okay. Then how do I mount the ISO into the Wineskin?
You don't. You mount the ISO file on your Mac so you can navigate through the files inside the ISO file and find the setup .exe to be used by Wineskin to install the game. Again, you need to mount the ISO file first. Then, on Wineskin, look for the setup .exe within the ISO file. The path would probably look like this: /Users/[YourUsername]/[FolderWhereYourISOfileIsLocated]/DMMd.iso. Be sure to look for a file with .exe as its extension. That is the setup file for the game.
Let's navigate step-by-step.
Look for your game ISO file.
Mount it. (refer above on how-to)
Go back to your wrapper. On the Wineskin window, click on Install Software. Click on Choose Setup Executable and look for your game installer. (image)
On the Finder window that pops up, look for the ISO file mounted under Devices. (image)
Open it and look for the setup .exe. (image)
Click Choose to continue.
Follow through the installation.
Carry on.
I hope this helps. This is the longest answer that I have written so far, I believe. ^^

Black screen on START fix #1
Hello! I know this have been asked million times already and my answer has been long overdue. I'm really, really sorry for the delay. I found out about the answer since February (a few days after I posted the Fuwanovel guide) but due to my slow internet connection and other things, I'm posting this only now.
Problem: Black screen after starting the game (this only occurs when you install the game using WS9Wine1.7.9 and later) Fix: Enable "ffdshow".
Here's how: 1) Launch the game. When asked whether you want to play in fullscreen or not, choose "No". Your screen will remain black but that's normal. Wait until you hear the game sound for the main menu.
For already-installed or not-first-time-to-launch, wait until you've reached the game's main menu. Then, simply exit fullscreen on the "Configuration" or by simply pressing "F".
2) Start the game. How? You don't even know where to click! The START button is located at the middle-bottom of the screen. Just try to guess where it's actually located. ^^'
3) Then an 'ffdshow' dialogue box should appear asking permission(?) to use the program (either in Japanese or in English). Choose the last option, "Always run ffdshow"(?), so you won't have to every time you play the game.
4) Ta~da! Your game should commence. Well, if not, toggle to your dashboard then back to the game. In order to remove flickering of the screen, pull out the game menu (right-click on the screen) for a while then get back to the game. Press "F" to go (back) to fullscreen (optional). Sweet!
Okay, that's it. I hope it fixes the black screen issue. Here's a video of the steps. I also have updated the guide to include previous asks. Have fun!
EDIT: Here's fix#2 if this one doesn't work for you.

i've been suffering so much trying to run this game since i got mavericks and i finally got it working thanks to your tutorial and i'm eternally grateful. <3 additionally, if anyone with a mac with an os earlier than 10.9, (i had 10.6.8 before mavericks), crossover 9.11 is able to run it perfectly (i used fuwanovels cracked+patched version).
You're very much welcome. I'm glad it worked for you, even on Mavericks.
For other people who are really desperate to play this game on Mac, try checking out CrossOver. ^^

I saw your post about installing a new wrapper without ffdshow to fix a bug and another one of your post about installing directx9 instead of d3dx9 for Noiz's route. I'm at the winetricks part for installing DMMd and I'm wondering if I should make the changes you said in the posts? And if so, would that mean typing in "directx9 dxdiagn devenum quartz"? Thank you in advance! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
Hi! Yes, instead of d3dx9 dxdiagn devenum quartz ffdshow, you should install these directx9 dxdiagn devenum quartz ffdshow on Winetricks. ^^
#fangirlingasian#dmmd:ask#hi you're a lovely person too ^^#i hope you have a nice day#only one submission got to me so that's okay ^^#i think i replied late tho :))

Hi! I hope I'm not bothering you ;AA; But I was wondering if you've figured out how to get to Ren/Virus&Trip's route yet? right at Mizuki's section when Aoba finally saves his granny? If you're still busy, then take your time, I was just wondering. ><
Hello! I’m sorry I haven’t reached their route yet. orz But I haven’t forgotten about it. Thank you for your patience.

Sorry to bother you, but I can't seem to use a fuwnovel download to work with the game. I tried creating a new wrapper, but every time I try, nothing from the file is what I can add into the wrapper.
Hello! Of course, you’re not a bother. ^^ Here’s how you install DMMd using Fuwanovel download:
Follow the steps in the guide up until you have disabled winqtdecoder.
Then, on the Wineskin window, click on Install Software. Click on Copy a Folder Inside and look for the Fuwanovel’s DMMd folder. (Remember to STOP seeding before you copy. You can resume afterwards.)
Wait for sometime and a window like this will appear. Choose DMMd_crack_for_ver110.exe on the drop-down list, NOT DMMd.exe.
Change the screen options and you’re ready to play the game.
Just a warning, I was able to run the game as normally as Wineskin could allow. However, after a couple of relaunching the game, it won’t load at all. Just a black screen. I’m still doing a few test runs to see which may solve this. Will definitely edit this post later.
EDIT: Black screen fix

Hello. I am confused on a part of your dmmd guide. I made the wrapper and everything but the part 1 step of installation where it says "Mount your DMMD ISO or extract it to a folder." Where do I get the dmmdsetup.exe. I don't know where/how/what to download to get the same download you did on my mac. Help? >n<
Hi! So, umm, first you should have your game downloaded in your mac. I got mine from AF. You could also try getting it from here. Once you’ve downloaded all the parts, you have to join them (you can use split&concat)—make sure you have all the parts in the same folder and don’t change the file name until they are joined. Mount the resulting ISO file by double-clicking on it. Ta-da~! Now you can install the game in the wrapper you made.
Hope I answered your question. (✿◠‿◠)

Quite a while ago a nice soul told be how they got DMMd to work more or less fine on Mountain Lion. They used Wineskin and installed directx9, dxdiagn, devenum, quartz via winetricks, and disabled wineqtdecoder via winecfg. They got flickering text box but the rest worked smoothly, though they didn't check the entire game at the time. I wonder if you could try this setting?
Hi! That’s exactly how I put it in my guide. I might be that person, lol. Though I suggested d3dx9 instead of directx9 (x). Thank you for telling me. It works, it really does, but crashes very often. Can’t do anything about that, though. It’s very unstable but manageable, I guess, with tons of patience. Haha.

I don't know if you have a downloadable link for DRAMAtical Murder for Mac, but I used one from another tumblr user. It was the only one i could find, so I don't exactly know what to do since the game keeps on crashing over and multiple places (it also glitches, but that isn't really my main problem. EXAMPLE: it would crash when the Rhyme battle begins in the very beginning and when Aoba is about to get hit. OS VERSION: 10.9.2 I'm not a genius so the wine log, I'm not sure. I hope you can help
Hello. There's only one downloadable port for DMMd for Mac and it's zchr's. I believe you're referring to his (yep, I saw your reblog from his post). I've been approached about this a few times before but I can't really help. Sorry. I've said this before, mentioned this on my FAQ-ish page, and will say this every time: As much as I want to help you, I can't. He already said so himself that it's broken and can't be fixed.
Oh, and you don't really have to be a genius to get the wine log as I have always linked how to get it. ;)

None of the links to download the game seem to be available. They either say they're no longer available or cannot be found. :/ Are there any other working download links for the game?
Hi! This is for DMMd, right? I’ve just checked them and they’re still working. Links on Eroge are definitely working (downloading them as I write since I lost my files ;;). For the ones in AF, you need an account to access them. I’m sure one of them works (try the ones on the second post) since they maintain DL links on their site. Your last option is to download it thru torrent (Google’s your friend).

Hello~ I just started to download DRAMAtical Murder. I have a Mac OS X and when the game parts starts to download, the icon for it is a traffic cone. When I try to open it, it shows up as a VLC Media Player. What do I do?
Hi! I’m not sure if I’ll be able to help. Where are you downloading from? Are you sure your downloads are not broken? Have you combined them using the right programs?

hi there!! first off i just wanted to say thank u very much for making that dmmd tutorial youre the best!! uhm tho ive been having some trouble with the game glitching at the same spot (when aoba and ren play the captive princess game) and im pretty sure i know your answer but im using the fuwanovel version and i was wondering if you suggest just redownloading that version or trying the AF one or what? it even glitches at that exact same spot when i use zchr's version so maybe its my mac or? ty!
You’re welcome! *^^*
As for your problem, I suggest you try installing directx9 instead of d3dx9 via Winetricks. I think this will fix that as I’ve mentioned here and here. ^^

So i downloaded everything (the only thing i couldn't find is the Update+crack .exe so i just copied the whole folder to see if that would work) it'll open it for like 2 seconds before shutting down so the obvious thing is i don't have update+crack in right but i can't find it anywhere else
Hi! ^^
Hmm... I'm not sure what step are you missing. Updating the game where in you'll need the update patch EXE? Or, applying the No-CD crack where in you'll need the crack EXE? If you got your game from AF, I'm sure it's included in your download (NOT within the mounted ISO). Well, the folder name will be different, I think can't remember.
Also, I've answered this on the guide (somewhere down the page) and on previous asks. Just to add another download link, here.

The link was deleted or something Q_Q I downloaded this torrent that has the crack file though, so hopefully that should help, thanks XD
Deleted? Hmm, that's weird. I checked it a while ago and it's still up. Anyway, it should be somewhere in your download. It might be named "DMMd_crack_for_ver110". You'll eventually find it. (〜 ̄▽ ̄)〜
