a pair of musicians who fell in love, daisy is outgoing and bubbly, and always willing to lend a helping hand. ronnie, while always friendly and helpful himself, has an undeniable stutter that can sometimes make him seem less charismatic than he actually is. the two of them met in school, where daisy was there on scholarship, and being picked on by other students for it. ronnie quickly grew to be her dearest friend, going so far as to dress more femininely to make daisy more comfortable around him (and learning that he quite enjoys feminine fashion in the process).

Ohhh!! Hey! i love getting to talk ttrpg stuff thanks for the question!

MASKS: A New Generation is a superhero ttrpg about teenagers all trying to figure out who they are in a world filled with people constantly telling them who they are and how the world works. It's less about the powers and the fights and more about the emotional journey of the PCs with mechanics that support that. It's a really narratively driven game!

tldr: try it out! it's fun! it's simple! and it's low-prep (apparently, just not for me, but i'm always just gonna do Too Much). you want a system with mechanics that revolve around telling a story? around your character's emotions and how they view themselves? this is the one for you! it's great and i've really been enjoying it!!

First of all, it's a fail-forward system, so the way your character levels (advanced) is by missing rolls. I like this a lot.

There are ten core playbooks that are essentially the classes you can choose from. They each come with their own powers, some intentionally more impressive than others, but it's not about the powers; it's about the core conflict that comes with each of the archetypes. Here are a few playbook examples:

The Delinquent: You've got these cool powers. But everyone keeps telling you how to use 'em. You know what they need? Someone to give them trouble, to make sure they don't always get their way. And hey! You're the perfect her to do it.

The Legacy: You're the latest in a storied heroic lineage, a family that shares a name and a cause. Now, everybody is watching and waiting to see if you've got what it takes to uphold that tradition. No Pressure, right?

The Nova: You're a font of power. Channel it, and you can remake the world into exactly what you want. Unleash it, and you can do miracles. It's wonderful... and terrifying. Lose control for even a second, and other people get hurt.

Your stats are your Labels. They're how you see yourself, and how others see you. The Labels are DANGER, FREAK, SAVIOR, SUPERIOR, and MUNDANE. Different stats help with different Moves/rolls, so for example a high DANGER stat helps you Directly Engage a Threat, while a low MUNDANE stat makes it harder for you to Comfort or Support Someone. Your Labels are constantly being shifted around throughout the game as your character's self-image changes (and that self-image changes a lot, basically the NPCs are just label shifting machines).

The mechanics are fun! Instead of traditional damage, the PCs have Conditions that they take on, and what conditions a character has affects their rolls. The Conditions are Afraid, Angry, Guilty, Hopeless, and Insecure. So if you're Angry you take -2 on your roll to do the move Comfort or Support Someone, if you're Afraid, it's -2 on Directly Engage a Threat, etc. There are multiple ways to clear your conditions but the most straightforward way is to take a particular action, so if you're Angry you have to hurt someone or break something important, and if you're Afraid you have to run from something difficult. These actions lead to some awesome and surprising story beats!

There's some other stuff as well, but that's the gist!

Coming from DND, it took me some time to adjust to something so wildly different in terms of the system, but I've been enjoying it! I haven't gotten to play it as a PC, but running it has been an interesting challenge. I think it's a pretty simple system to work with, and I at least hear it's low-prep (again not for me tho lol). It's mechanically looser than the only other ttrpg I've played (dnd) and requires a lot more decision making from the whole table, so I think in a way it asks more of its players in that way. And the GM role is constantly on in a specific way, because it's up to the GM to listen and call out when a Move is being triggered and a roll should be made based on what the characters are doing in any particular scene.

anyway I can always have more to say but MASKS has been fun. I recommend giving it a shot! And then you should tell me what you thought about it!!

I noticed a lack of western-like dragons in hoyoverse games so I made a species and a reader for Hsr! Taking inspiration from Chromatic Dragons from DND the Chromatican’s (Yes I know I am very clever and smart) are a race that was made around the same time as their cousins the Vidyadhara, but something went wrong with their very conception, most speculating that the Aeon “Oroboro��s” had something to do with it.

A nomadic race of giant dragon people, standing at an average height of 7-8ft, they look as savage as the Vidyadhara look regal, scales cover most of their bodies, harder than most substances of the universe, their tails are thick and muscular used to batter enemies into submission or even as a shield. Their claws rip and tear into any would-be challengers who had the gall to challenge into something as “great as them”! Even a common foot soldier could rip into an IPC mech with little difficulty, and boy do the IPC loathe them.

For the Chromatican’s are a nomadic race of pirates and mercenaries, traveling the universe to do what they want to do. Hoarding wealth and dominating any being who dare think they’re better than them. They live how they want to live, and there is not a lot that could stop them otherwise.

Unlike the Vidyahara they can reproduce but it is slow, so despite being so powerful they are usually few in number so they usually raid any place that has sufficient cloning technology. This usually means pissing off factions like the Genius Society, but they could give less than a fuck. Literally zero shits given. Even they are quite unpopular with most factions, especially with the individual “legends” the most notable of their kind.

A “hoarder of Memories” a purple Chromatican who killed and absorbed multiple Memokeepers, keeping their and any memories they collected for herself. Ironically this caused Fuli’s gaze to descend upon her.

“The Gluttonous Scourge” a red Chromatican who fancy’s to kill those affected by the Abundace, those who are gifted with Abundance will quickly find it robbed and eaten. Abundance attracts Predators afterall.

And the last notable Legend. “Destructions Ruin” a black Chromatican who is one of the longest living creatures said to be so ancient he saw multiple Aeon’s ascend. He loves to see others fall within time. He takes great pride and this, to know he outlasted others, to see kingdoms and civilizations fall within time, to see palaces grow into ruins before the ruins themselves crumble to dust! But it hates the Antimatter legion. He hates that they just destroy with force, that they don’t outlast things, that they don’t take any pride or artifacts from ruins! They are a threat to his ego and he hates it. Any chance to ruin their plans he will hop on without a second thought. Anyone who gets in his way be damned.

Now for the reader in this scenario, could be any color you want, just look up DND chromatic dragons and take a pick at which one you prefer. In this scenario let’s just pick red. This reader like to fight, to know that he is indeed on top. So he temporarily gos to the Astral Express. To travel to other places to find worthy opponents. Most notably they seek out Emanators to fight. Acheron, Herta, Jing Yuan(?) They know the trailblazer knows these people so they stick by them. Looking for any chance to prove their superiority…yet they are also incredibly aroused by strong people so in the chance they do get beaten? Oh boy…

The vibe is immaculate: savage elegance meets unapologetic dominance, layered with D&D dragon flavors, twisted into the wild grandeur of HSR's universe.

The Chromaticans feel like that missing puzzle piece in HSR’s cosmic menagerie—raw, elemental forces dressed in brute strength and violent legacy. Where the Vidyadhara are all grace and divinity, the Chromaticans are the fury of creation itself, shaped into terrifying nomadic dragons who treat the stars like a playground—and a battlefield. Their ship's hull is probably made of stripped Aeon relics and broken mech plating, polished with ego and blood.

Claws and muscle. Tails used as battering rams. IPC units trembling at the sight of them. Yes.

Their disdain for the "civilized" echoes a kind of wild, chaotic purity—they live and die how they want, and that alone makes them dangerous.

And the fact that each one’s a potential boss fight? Oof. It’s giving "narrative flavor meets universal threat."

The Legends? Absolute units.

The Hoarder of Memories is terrifying in the best possible way. Fuli’s eye on her? Chills.

The Gluttonous Scourge eating Abundance-infected individuals? Viscous poetry. The irony of consuming those granted “life eternal” is so deliciously cruel.

Destruction’s Ruin? I can HEAR his voice in my head—ancient, smug, echoing in some crumbled hall of a dead civilization. He doesn’t just kill—he watches. He remembers. He outlasts. A hater with historical flair.

Now Red Chromatican Reader?

He’s every competitive, testosterone-drenched rival character you’ve ever loved—but scaled, horned, and ready to square up with the stars.

Riding with the Astral Express not because he cares—but because it’s a convenient vehicle for violence.

He’s got his eye on the strongest—Acheron, Herta, Jing Yuan—not for their wisdom, not for their status, but because he wants to clash.

He treats every strong presence like a dare. Like a declaration. And when someone does get the better of him? Oh, he’s feral about it. He wants to fight again. He wants to get stronger. He wants to maybe flirt a little bit through gritted teeth while bleeding.

March, watching him square up with Acheron in a duel and get disarmed in two strikes: “...Is it weird that he looks happy? Like, really happy?”

Trailblazer: “No, that’s normal. That’s horny.”

He’s messy. He’s loud. He’s powerful. And he’s HOT.

@simlit - possibly the best "bachelor challenge" to ever exist. An incredible story with compelling characters, excellent writing, and stunning visuals. I binge-read all of COTS in one day, and whenever it updates, it's the highlight of my day.

@simgerale - Miranda is so incredibly talented. She makes the most beautiful sims, and her story Regal that just finished recently might just be my favorite story anyone has ever posted on tumblr. I've been following it since more or less day one. Also her legacy family is ADORABLE.

@softpine - the last of my top 3 stories on simblr. Everything Brandi writes is so incredibly detailed and filled with so much love. There is so much nuance and detail that goes into all of her posts, and all of her characters are delightfully complex. I binge-read the entirety of Camellia over two days, and it was a DELIGHTFUL experience.

@potionio - Omen makes some of the most amazing sims I've ever seen. Everything they make is GORGEOUS, from sims to builds to edits. Amazing alt fashion and spooky vibes all around. Also just an awesome friend.

@panicsimss - another amazing spooky simmer. Panic has gorgeous OCs, and I love everything she makes. Poppy and Hudson have my heart!!

@salemssimblr - Ash makes incredible renders, and is also just very kind. She's an awesome friend, and I'm so glad to have met them!!

@goldenwaves - Izzy is another incredible render-maker and editor. They also are the creator of some of the most fun and interesting dnd ocs I've ever had the pleasure of playing with and hearing about. Plus, her new story Heartbreakers is super awesome!!

@wileyfern - They post adorable gameplay, and their legacy family has been going strong for a long time now. Her current heir, Ocean, is super fun to follow!

@void-critters - Jay makes amazing edits and has some amazing dnd ocs that I love hearing about. They're also super kind and a great friend.

@warwickroyals - Ayanna's story is one of the only royal simblr stories I really follow very closely on here, and for good reason!! The level of nuance and commentary that goes into her story is very special. If you're going to follow a royal simblr, let it be this one!! Plus some very cool cc!!

@heartblobs - A very lovely historical simmer who just recently started a new decades challenge!! Ellie's current family is super cute, and I can't wait to see them grow!

@wildmelon - Lush makes some of the most gorgeous sims I've ever seen, as well as amazing edits!!! Also a critical role fan, which makes me happy.

@rebouks - Somnium very quickly became one of my favorite stories on simblr, and now Forever In Between is following in the foorsteps! Becca has adorable sims, and blends an excellent mix of gameplay and storytelling. She's also an INCREDIBLE pose maker.

@ghostputty - Ky makes INCREDIBLE edits, including those very famous eye edits. Also, their story, Deck of Fate, is fascinating, and I can't wait to read more!!

@raiiny-bay - Rai makes amazing renders, and their Monster Boys universe and lore is FASCINATING. I could read about the zombie boys for hours!

@arcanewonder - Sara's renders are on a whole 'nother level. Truly nothing compares. The fantasy vibes are immaculate! Plus, her simblreen treats from years past have saved my ass in decorating the castle for RTQ/ATQH.

@barbieaiden - Sam makes some of the most awesome renders I've ever seen, not to mention his stunning story and intriguing OCs. I love Sam and Aiden, am morbidly fascinated with Tristan and Kas, and am eagerly awaiting the day I get to hear about his pirate OCs.

@rainymoodlet - Shan's sims are all GORGEOUS, but Dan is truly the best of them all. Dan's bachelor challenge, KMIK, is amazing, and even though my boy may be out of the running, I'm very invested to see who ends up stealing Dan's heart.

@samssims - Sam is a pillar in this community. Her NSB family captured my heart right away, and her unique method of storytelling is so cool. Not to mention her poses, which are a must-have!

@laeska - Makes some of the best hairs in the community, and all totally free!! Her simblreen gifts this year were amazing, and I have all of her cc in my game.

@retro-plasma - Corn's sims are beautiful, and their gameplay posts are stunning! They truly have a talent for making things come alive!

I switched Piano for Lute using the lute skill by @janesimsten and some cc lutes I converted myself. (Some of them have been officially converted too, but I have mine already done, so I didn't sort out which is which and redownload.)

Sorry for the lackluster post (I don't know what I'm doing) but I made a challenge because I wanted an excuse to use my DND dice and have decided to publish it.
