I love my job, but I wish I didn't want to work and could create all day. There are so many creative long term projects I want to take on, but don't have enough time in the day to regularly keep up with even a fraction of them.

Capitalism sucks for many reasons, but this is one of them.

With a defiant huff Lucile stood up from the stool and faced Helena, "I'm not a child anymore, Ma!". That retort was met with a quick but measured response, "I didn't say child, I said young. " As Helena to a long look at Lucile, She couldn't escape the whirlwind of memories… "Where had all the time gone? "she thought to herself.

Confusion etched Lucile's face, "But all my friends, the girls my age, they have future engagements. I'm just the farmer's daughter. What were the etiquette classes and piano lessons for?"

Helena shook her head knowingly, " Those skills and lessons are useful in life not just marriage Darling. "

Lucile then peered out to her brothers lavish farmhouse, "I just want to make you and Pa proud. " Then with a heartfelt embrace, Helena whispered, "You already have, my dearest." ♥Mommy Daughter Moment♥ Though get married before being too old was very routine for the time period, I know Helena being a victim of sex abuse would not want her to rush into relationships so quickly.

10 Generations. 10 Different Heroines. 1 Legacy. Welcome to the Literary Heroine Legacy Challenge! I’ve been itching for a good legacy to revive my love for the Sims 4, and I haven’t found one so I wrote one myself.  I was inspired after reading Emma— the family dynamics, drama, and romance were everything I ever wanted in a Sims challenge. So I modernized the stories and adapted them to fit this game.  Special shoutout to Designergirl81, who I met through MissLollypopSims’ Discord! The generations of Anne of Avonlea and Dorothy were their brainchildren. 💗 I designed each generation to reference a famous literary heroine. This is a very story-oriented challenge but feel free to bend, tweak, and change as much as you can! Basic Rules

Play on any life span you want but I recommend playing on Normal life span.

You are encouraged to play with female heirs. Of course, this is optional!

You are discouraged from using money cheats. Some generations have stories that are related to their social class— so try to stay true to the story as much as you can.

You can live wherever you want unless the generation states otherwise.

Feel free to customize each generation’s race and sexual orientation

Unless specifically stated, each generation has to finish their aspiration and career.

Even if most of these books are classics, I wrote this with a more modern take on it. You don’t need any mods or CC to fit the eras’ aesthetics— but if you want to, you totally can!

Generation 1: Elizabeth Bennett 📚 Do not consider me now as an elegant female, intending to play you, but as a rational creature, speaking the truth from her heart. 📚

It is a truth, universally acknowledged, that all Sims 4 challenges must start with an heir. In this case, that’s you, which is surprising because everyone else in your life has decided that you are plain, especially when compared to your other two sisters. Lately though, you start to sense that you’ve been getting more attention from your neighbors. One particular Sim hasn’t been able to leave you and your family alone… and you don’t like them at all, not one bit. Well… maybe just a bit.

Aspiration: Successful Lineage 

Traits: Family Oriented, Hot-Headed, Bookworm OR choose/roll for the last trait

Career: Journalist

→ Master the Writing skill. → Live in a rundown family home passed down by your parents with two sisters until you are married. → Have a negative relationship with a neighbor. → Reject a proposal from your work boyfriend. → Build a relationship with your neighbor after you reject the proposal of your ex. → Have a scandal involving one of your sisters that your neighbor supports you through. → Fall in love and marry this neighbor then move in with him. → Have two children.

Generation 2: Emma Woodhouse 💗  It is very difficult for the prosperous to be humble.  💗

Growing up, you were always the sheltered one. Your father was very protective of you, and therefore never let you out of his sight. Of course, that didn’t stop you from becoming well-loved by the entire town. You were known for throwing the best dinner parties and befriending everyone your father and mother knew. Needless to say, this got to your head a bit. You weren’t arrogant, you were confident. In everyone’s eyes, you could do no wrong. Well, everyone except your childhood best friend— who was never afraid to call you out for being a bit clueless at times. 

Aspiration: Neighborhood Confidante OR Party Animal

Traits: Self-Assured, High Maintenance, Music-Lover OR choose/roll for the last trait

Career: Romance Consultant or Lawyer

→ Master the Charisma and Piano skills. → Host at least 5 gold-star dinners. → Have a childhood best friend who’s a bit older than you. For example: When you’re 17 (end of teenage years), they’re already 20 (start of young adult years). * → You can’t have good friends who are your age until your childhood best friend ages up into a young adult. → Make a new friend that you treat like a “project” until you two fall out. Choose if you two will reconcile in the future. → Profess your love to your childhood best friend during a heated argument. → Marry your best friend and live with your mother and father in your childhood home until your parents die. Have one child. *It goes without saying to only get with your childhood best friend when the two sims are both young adults 🙂 No super uncomfortable age gaps, please.

Generation 3: Scarlett O’Hara ✨ “Tomorrow, I’ll think of some way to get him back.” ✨ All your life, you grew up spoiled. Your mother and father were so in love, and you almost expected to have a story as romantic and easy as theirs. However, when your high school flame elopes quickly with someone else right after graduation, you start to spiral. No longer able to get things your way, you begin to self-sabotage and jump from relationship to relationship. Deep down you know you should stop and smarten up but frankly, my dear, you don’t give a damn.

Aspiration: Soulmate— you fail this 

Traits: Materialistic, Genius, Jealous OR choose/roll for the last trait

Career: None until your divorce then become a Manual Laborer + Barista

⭐ Recommended Mods: Healthcare Redux Mod, Extreme Violence Mod

→ Don’t master any skill. → Have a high school flame who elopes with someone else. → Elope immediately with someone else. Have them die tragically.* → Marry another person quickly who you have bad compatibility with. Get negative romance with them right before they pass.* → Marry a third time. Have them catch you in a compromising moment with your high school flame, which leads to a divorce that leaves you with nothing. → End up working two part time jobs to keep your household running. → Have 4 kids with your 3 husbands (you can cheat for twins, if you want). *You decide how they die. I recommended having mods like the Healthcare Redux and Extreme Violence in your game for realistic roleplay reasons— but if he gets tragically eaten by a Cowplant that works too! 🙂

Generation 4: Jo March 🧾 “When the first soreness was over, she could laugh at her poor little book, yet believe in it still, and feel herself the wiser and stronger for the buffeting she had received.” 🧾 Growing up was not easy for you. Your childhood was incredibly unpredictable with your mother jumping from relationship-to-relationship. And when things started to stabilize emotionally, you ended up in poverty.  Luckily, you had your siblings to cling to, and a passion for writing that’s unmatched. You wrote a ton of things across different genres, except for romance which you didn’t quite understand. In fact, everyone always expected you to be a little woman, not rough or wild, but you knew in your heart that’s not what you were destined to become.

Aspiration: Best-Selling Author

Traits: Creative, Unflirty, and Ambitious OR choose/roll for the last trait

Career: Author

⭐ Recommended Mods: Writing Career Overhaul, SNB Banking

→ Master the Writing and Logic skills. → Be best friends with all of your siblings. → Start selling short stories as a teenager to help pay the bills. → Get a best friend in high school who professes their love to you during graduation. Turn them down. Optional: Have them marry one of your other siblings. → Move away to the city to focus on your writing. Always send 30% of your income to your mother until she dies. → Due to a tragedy in the family, adopt a child of one of your siblings.* → Win a Starlight Accolade for one of your novels. → Never marry but live a fulfilling life. *They are to be the next heir to preserve the bloodline. You can adopt more if you want.

Generation 5: Anne Shirley 📖 “I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string.” 📖 You were adopted by your aunt and lived a happy childhood. Despite being surrounded by family drama, you never let it dampen your spirit. You struggled with social cues and caused mayhem wherever you went— of course, that never stopped you from making your voice heard. You were, afterall, raised by someone who was never afraid to make a point. However, unlike your aunt, you always longed for romance. You always imagined big declarations of passion— but perhaps it’s time to learn that love creeps to one's side like an old friend through quiet ways.

Aspiration: Academic OR Soulmate

Traits: Romantic, Socially Awkward, and Loyal OR choose/roll for the last trait

Career: Education Career

⭐ Recommended Mod: Education Overhaul

→ Master the Research and Debate skill. → Have a childhood enemy that you become best friends with in high school. → Go to University and study Language and Literature. → Fall out with your best friend while in University. → Start dating someone you meet in University but break up right after graduation. → Get a job in the Education Career and write on the side. → Reconnect with your former best friend and realize you love them. → Get married to your best friend. → Retire from the Education career and become a freelance writer in your twilight years.

Generation 6: Nancy Drew 🔍 “I don't promise to forget the mystery, but I know I'll have a marvelous time.”  🔍 Every bedtime, your mother read you stories that she and your grandmother wrote. Among all of those, it’s your grandmother’s mysteries that impacted you the most. There was something so thrilling about being a heroic, fearless woman who helped others out. Because of this, you gained a bunch of friends who loved you very deeply. With their support, you grew up as a well-known detective who can solve any case.  It was a fun life, but you eventually settled down in Henford-On-Bagley to have a family of your own.

Aspiration: Friend of the World 

Traits: Generous, Nosy, and Outgoing OR choose/roll for the last trait

Career: Detective OR  ⭐ Zerbu’s Simvestigations Mod

→ Master the fitness skill. → Be close friends with both your parents. → Have 2 best friends who are either your roommates (Discover University) or live in the same apartment complex as you (For Rent) for your entire YA life. → Get engaged to someone you meet on-the-job. → Before marrying your fiance, go on a trip to Selvadorada with your 2 best friends and explore the Jungle Temples. → Settle down in Henford-On-Bagley and have a farm life of your own. → Never move away once you settle in Henford-On-Bagley.

Generation 7: Dorothy Gale 🐶 “If we walk far enough, we shall sometime come to someplace.”  🐶 Growing up you knew that there was more to the world than what was outside your own backdoor.  Afterall, your mother was a famous detective— if she went on her own adventures, why can’t you?

With her and your father’s support, you spend your young adult life traveling. You made some great friends along the way (and even some loves), but eventually you start to wonder if there is no place like home.

Aspiration: Local Aspirations— complete at least two

Generation 8: Wendy Darling 🌟 “She was a lovely lady, with a romantic mind and such a sweet mocking mouth. ”  🌟 You grew up waiting. First, for your father’s seasonal visits… which eventually stops when you become a teenager. Next, for the opportunity to leave Henford-on-Bagley to pursue your dreams of becoming an actress. And finally, for your first love, a man who refused to propose to you, no matter how long you waited for him to. Eventually you grew tired waiting and decided to grow up. You married a sensible man, had a child, and gave up your dreams of becoming an actress. Still, you held on to the dreams of your first love and end up reconnecting in a night of passion that leaves you pregnant with his child. Realizing that he’ll never grow up, you decide to dedicate your life to your family and husband.

Aspiration: Master Actor/Actress - you fail this or the⭐ Housewife Aspiration (after you marry)

Traits: Perfectionist, Proper, and Cheerful OR choose/roll for the last trait

Career: Actor/Actress

→ Master the Parenting skill. → Have a distant family dynamic with your father who never lives with you. → Join the drama club and meet your first love. Optional: He has the childish trait. → Give your first love all of your major romantic milestones. → Lose touch with your first love when you move to Del Sol Valley. → Marry a man you’d consider as sensible. Have one child with him. → Have a one time secret affair that results in another child. → Dedicate your life to your children afterwards.

Generation 9: Alice Liddell  🐰 “It would be so nice if something made sense for a change.”  🐰

There were times you felt like you never truly belonged anywhere. While everyone at home lived and abided by your parents’ rules, your head was always in the clouds. Sensibilities and propriety were never in your vocabulary, much to the disdain of your father and the rest of your siblings. Still, you were a free spirit that could never be controlled. After moving out as a young adult, you fell in love with cooking and mixology. You also met a group of misfits who were as different as you. Every Sunday, you’d host special “tea” parties with them, that broadened your worldview and made you realize that the world gets curiouser and curiouser with each passing day.

Aspiration: Master Mixologist or Master Chef

Traits: Clumsy, Foodie, and Childish OR choose/roll for the last trait

Career: Culinary Career

Name them The Mad Hatter. → ⭐ Optional: Be in a polyamorous relationship with Romantic Boundaries OR the Open Love Life Mod → Have two children. *You decide what weird and eccentric means.

Generation 10: Countess Ellen Olenska  🎨 “The real loneliness is living among all these people who only ask one to pretend.”  🎨

You appreciated your mother’s lifestyle. You saw the world for what it could become, and not what everyone wanted it to be. However, you worried about your younger sister. You saw her innocence and wanted to protect it. When you turned into a young adult, you moved away and took your sister with you to start anew. However, life was not always easy. Straight out of teenhood, you married someone from a different city and had a tumultuous relationship with him. You separate with him and continue to care for your sister. You’re able to provide for her through your paintings, which also brought you a lot of fame. When she grew up into a Young Adult, she formed an attachment with a man that… intrigued you. She married him. This kept him in your life, but made it difficult for you to ignore your feelings. One night, you find yourself alone together, and you must make a choice: stay with him and break your sister's heart, or leave forever to give them peace. You have a price to pay either way— we can't behave like people in novels without consequence, can we?

Aspiration: Painter Extraordinaire

Traits: Gloomy, Art Lover, and Family Oriented OR choose/roll for the last trait

Career: Critic 

⭐ Recommended Mods: RPO, Wonderful Whims, Custom Relationship Bits, Soulmates

→ Master the Painting Skill. → Become a Level 3 Celebrity with your paintings. → Marry someone who isn’t your soulmate straight out of high school. Have a negative relationship with him before separating. ⭐ Optional: Only temporarily separate with him using the RPO Mod. → Be best friends with your sister. → Become soulmates with the partner of your sister without consummating the relationship. → When you’re an adult, invite your sister’s partner over, and make a choice— woohoo together and break your sister's heart, or end the emotional affair. → If you woohoo together - Tell your sister the next day and become enemies. Name your child after them. → If you end the emotional affair - Move away from your love and get back together with your ex-husband. Die without having your own children.

Thank you for reading the Langston Legacy

To all my dear followers and friends - it took me some time to post this final post for the Langston Legacy, because it is so hard to say goodbye to this group of sims that has been part of my life and many of yours for nearly 5 years.

But we made it. All the way to the modern day! This Decades Challenge is complete ⌛️

I hope you all enjoyed the final walk with Mac through the Langston family back to their origins. I really loved revisiting where they came from and seeing old faces. It felt like the fitting way to round this Legacy out.

This is the end for the Langstons. Above you will see all the characters we met over 12 decades - and I have the wonderful @goldoradove to thank for helping to create a 51 sim pose that was so unique to this particular family and all of its individuals. The thing I love most about this community is the people I have met through telling my sims story, and collaborating on this pose to say farewell has been truly heartwarming. I have endless, endless thank-yous, Rilla 💖✨

Ew I’m crying now as I write this, how dare sims make me feel this kind of emotion?! But seriously. Thank you everyone who has ever been invested in this sims story. 5000 followers later (excuse me 😳), and I want you all to know that every comment and like and message has been so meaningful. You are the reason I was able to keep this going for so long, pick it back up after long hiatuses, and finally finish it in my own slightly-protracted way as my life outside of simblr has changed. What started as a pandemic hobby in lockdown turned into a huge project that has sustained me creatively and I feel a bit lost now that it’s complete.

So… what’s next? Stay tuned and I’ll update in a few days on where I’m at with my future plans on simblr. This is a Sims 4 Legacy Challenge inspired by the four main characters of HBO's Sex and the City! Follow four generations full of friendship, drama, love and cosmos. Each gen embodies one of the girls, facing their own unique challenges through their stories!

GEN 1 - CARRIE BRADSHAW

"I like my money right where I can see it... Hanging in my closet."

You dream of becoming a famous writer, so you leave your small town behind and move to San Myshuno as a young adult. Starting as a freelance writer, you work hard until you land a job as a columnist. Between writing for your column, going out with your best friends, and navigating the chaos of dating, you dream of publishing your own books. But can you survive the city life while chasing love?

Aspiration: Bestselling author. Traits: Materialistic, Romantic, Creative, Clumsy, Self-Absorbed. Career: Freelance writer, then change it to Writer (Journalist branch).

Live in a ran down apartment until you can afford a better one or you can remodel it. But don't live in a penthouse.

Date around and have 3 relationships before you settle down (feel free to make your own Mr. Big)

You don't need love to complete you because your ambition is enough. You're all about climbing the corporate ladder. Friendship keeps you grounded, but romance? That can wait. But when you finally have a family, balancing work and home life is a struggle, but you've always liked a challenge.

Aspiration: Academic and Renaissance Sim. Traits: Ambitious, Perfectionist, Hot-Headed, Romantically reserved, Active. Career: Law (Either branch).

Dress in an Office Siren aesthetic.

Live in a minimalistic or well decorated apartment.

Don't marry until you reach level 10 of your career. You have to focus on your success first.

Go to the gym at least once a week and go jogging everyday.

Max Fitness, Logic and Reasearch & Debate.

Have only one child.

Have a cat.

Go out with your friends once a week (either cocktails, brunch, house party, dancing, you choose!)

GEN 3 - CHARLOTTE YORK

"I've been dating ever since I was 15! I'm exhausted! Where is he?"

You are a creative sim who wants the white-picked-fence life. The perfect home. The perfect family. The perfect relationship. But perfection isn't easy. Can you build the ideal life?

Aspiration: Big Happy Family. Traits: Family-Oriented, Romantic, Perfectionist, Lovebug, Art Lover. Career: Art Critic and Stay-at-home parent.

Live in a perfect and pristine apartment.

Have a dog.

Max Painting, Parenting and Cooking skills.

Marry and get divorced. Then re-marry another sim.

Have at least 2 kids. Raise them to have good manners.

Quit your job after you get pregnant. It's up to you if you go back after they grow up.

Go out with your friends once a week (either cocktails, brunch, house party, dancing, you choose!)

GEN 4 - SAMANTHA JONES

"I love you, but I love me more."

You're bold, confident and unapologetically yourself. Relationships? Not your style. You live for passion, luxury and excitement. You thrive in the spotlight. Romance is fun, but no one will love you as much as you love yourself. Make sure the world knows your name!

Aspiration: Serial Romantic. Traits: Self-Assured, Non-Committal, Outgoing, High Maintenance, Loyal. Career: Social Media (Public Relations branch).

Live in a luxurious penthouse.

Never marry! If a sim proposes you must always decline.

Must have at least 5 lovers. You can do it at the same time to spark some drama ;)

Max Charisma, Wellness and Romance skills.

Go on expensive vacations to Sulani, Tartosa or Mt. Komorebi at least once.

Have a dog.

Go out with your friends once a week (either cocktails, brunch, house party, dancing, you choose!)

A New Sims 4 Lepacy Challenge

“I’ve often found myself buying packs and not exploring them fully or not playing them after my initial playthrough!”

“I haven’t even thought about XYZ pack in years!”

“I’m bored!!”

Any of these testimonials sound like you? They sound like me too! The Sims 4 has been out for over 10 years and at the time of writing has over 70 DLC packs with 17 expansions and 12 game packs (may the concept rest in peace) and I have spent far too long forgetting some of my favorite features. SO I have decided to write a Lepacy Challenge based on each of the Expansion and Game packs! (Except Batuu obviously)

Currently, I have written up to Life and Death (which is the most recent pack at the time of updating this) for a total of 29 generations! When new packs come out I will do my best to update quickly. I have outlined a basic story to connect the generations but obviously, you don’t have to follow it, do what's fun for you! For a slightly abridged legacy, you can play without the GP generations.

Every generation has a set of basic rules and an additional set of just for fun rules. While the basic rules must be completed every generation, just for fun rules are there for extra challenges, tasks, storytelling bits, or cross-pack challenges. There are also some general rules for the overall lepacy. If you have any questions or suggestions please let me know!

Sims Story Board - Notion Template

If you guys are anything like me... your mind is a mess! Full of ideas but in full chaos. I've been working on getting more organized in my thoughts and in planning for my sims stories! I was recommended to use Notion to help. Notion has a tonnn of templates that are free to use but I couldn't find one that fit just right for what I wanted to use it for and also... not be so hard to use. SO ... here we are I created one lol

This template features:

Main Hub: Take a brief overlook of your sims story or save file and create the vibe for it.

Characters Bios: Go into full detail about your sim. Creating a full profile and personality for them including: bucketlist, playlist, pinterest board, and all of their traits. Create full lore with their family members, love interest, and even their enemies.

Memories: A place to capture and write about key moments in this story/save file.

Challenge Tracker: If you are playing a challenge (ex. Legacy challenge, Rags to Riches, etc) You can list out all the goals and milestones here and check them off as you go as a way to track your progress.

The Sims 4 Rainbow Legacy Challenge

Introduction

Welcome to this Rainbow Legacy Challenge! This is the first Sims challenge I’ve ever made and I’m excited to share it. Even if it never reaches an audience, I can still play the challenge for myself because I’m very proud of what I’ve put together.

I’ve taken some inspiration from the beloved Not So Berry Challenge by @lilsimsie, but workshopped it into something completely new. I’m sure there are plenty of rainbow challenges for The Sims online, but this is my personal take on it. I hope you like it!

I’ve made it a point to make this challenge accessible for everyone: for players that have some (or all) packs installed, and for those rocking with just the base game. I have marked everything that is DLC in color. The DLCs are optional and are not necessary for completing this challenge, but of course it adds much more depth to the story overall. Additionally, in numerous instances I’ve given you as the player options for choosing certain traits, careers or aspirations that are either DLC or base game.

I hope you enjoy the challenge as much as I enjoyed creating it. Thank you!

The Rules

Set the lifespan of your sims to either normal or long.

Cheats are (in most cases) not allowed. You may not cheat money at any point, but cheats like debug fixes, move objects and full edit mode in CAS are allowed. Also, I’ll allow gender cheats for babies if you really want to.

Start the first generation as a young adult.

Each generation represents a certain color of the rainbow, but the extent of which they represent the color (i.e. hair, makeup, clothing, interior and exterior design of their houses) is completely up to you. As long as they are still recognizable as representing certain colors, anything goes.

Each generation is fully completed when all bullet points are achieved (but don’t worry too much if you don’t fully complete everything in time).

Again: DLC traits, careers, aspirations and skills are optional. The challenge is fully playable with just the base game.

Last but not least: just have fun!

Generation 1: Red

Red is the color of love, passion and lust, but also of danger and aggression. Fittingly for this first generation, you can choose which path to romance you will take: will you be a hot-headed heartstopper and enjoy all the love the world has to give, or will you find ‘The One’ that will fulfill all your desires and remain loyal to them, and only them?

'Besides the fact that you dream of finding luck in romance, you have always deeply loved music. As you gained fame from your musical career, you earned the reputation of the 'heartthrob musician'. And although you love the attention and fans fawning over you, you just want to find honest love. You dream of sitting on the porch of your home, watching the sunset with your lover and serenading them a song you wrote specially for them. It might take a couple tries to find 'The One', but you just know they're out there waiting for you.'

While your passion lies with cooking, you never back down from social outings with your friends and you’d do anything to make sure they’re having a great time. You’re well known among friends and the rest of the community as outgoing, fun-loving and an excellent cook. And since they’re always nagging you about it, who knows, maybe you’ll even open up a restaurant or bakery someday.'

Ahhh, yellow. The color of sunshine and joy, but sometimes also of cowardice.

'Growing up, you often saw your parents have fun at social gatherings in and around your house. You reveled in the joyful atmosphere and always wanted to join in, even if it was well past your bedtime. As you got older, you wanted to be just like your parents and have lots of friends to do fun stuff with. Being a little impulsive and lacking any clear steering as to what career you wanted to pursue, you ended up at a boring 9-5 desk job at a local firm. Although it isn’t your ideal job, you’ll be damned if you don’t make it work!'

Career: Business or Law (DU)

Aspiration: Friend of the World

Complete the Friend of the World aspiration

Reach level 10 in either the Business or Law career (DU) in either branch

Generation 4: Green

Green! The beautiful color of nature, healing, new beginnings and growth. Alternatively, it can also represent envy, jealousy, money and greed. In this generation, you can choose one of two paths for your sim (or alternatively, if your heir has brothers or sisters and you like a real challenge, give one sibling option A and the other option B. You may set the lifespan to long or pause aging for the duration of this if you really want to play both options).

Option A:

'During your youth you got all the love you could ever want from your parents: aside from their busy social and professional life, they still took enough free time to love and raise you. Although your youth was basically perfect, you often struggled with all the social interactions and visitors at your house. If being a highly sensitive person was a trait in the Sims 4, you would have it. Because of this, you longed for the peace and quiet that nature had to offer. You took a liking to gardening and dreamed of living outside the big city, away from all the noise.'

Traits: Loves Outdoors / Vegetarian / Loner

Career: Gardener (S) or self-employed

Aspiration: Freelance Botanist or The Curator

Complete either the Freelance Botanist or The Curator aspiration

Reach level 10 in the Gardener career (S) in either branch, or alternatively remain unemployed and register with the ministry of labor as a self-proclaimed ‘Naturalist’ and earn a living by growing and selling your crops

Reach level 10 of the Gardening and Flower arranging skill (S) and at least level 6 of the Fishing and Herbalism skill (OR)

Have a large garden with a variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers (try and cultivate at least one of every type of produce!)

Cook only with fresh ingredients from your garden and from fishing

If you want, you can also make the lot you live on off-the-grid for an added challenge

Optional: eat the Forbidden Fruit and become a plantsim

Option B:

'Growing up, your parents were too busy maintaining friendships and partying, so you lacked much parental love or guidance. Seeing other kids at school be given much more love and affection than you quite literally made you green with envy. Although you liked living surrounded by the quiet of nature, you often felt isolated and lonely, and this manifested into a gloomy outlook on life. Your biggest outlet by far was art. You loved drawing and painting, as it was a way to let out your creativity and complicated emotions. You've always aspired to make your hobby your job, and luckily for you, you might just succeed.'

Traits: Creative / Gloomy / either Perfectionist or Art Lover

Generation 6: Indigo

Indigo. What an interesting color. Within the visible spectrum, it lies somewhere between blue and violet. It shares most of the same symbolizations as blue, like wisdom, justice, devotion and profound thought, but also mystery.

'Looking back, you’d say you had a great childhood. Loving parents, siblings to play with, maybe even pets. As a child you loved reading thrillers and superhero comics, and that’s where your strong feelings for justice started. Seeing your parent be especially vulnerable for bad news and having a gloomy and pessimistic outlook, you promised yourself you would make the world a better and safer place. As an adult, you took on a job of fighting crime while simultaneously keeping your eagerness to learn and love for reading alive.'

Traits: Self-Assured / Bookworm / Genius

Career: Secret Agent or Detective (GTW)

Aspiration: Renaissance Sim

Generation 7: Violet

Last but definitely not least: violet, or more commonly known as purple. The color of royalty, rarity, luxury and power. At its base, purple is a mix of blue and red. Fitting for our last generation (for now).

'During your youth you grew up rather wealthy, thanks to your parents’ well-paying jobs. In addition to that, you grew up as an only child. Talk about being spoiled. Your parent’s love for fiction and comic books and somewhat nerdy interests were (unsurprisingly) passed onto to you. You spend most of your time behind your computer gaming, programming and trolling people online. Because of your immense love for videogames, you chose to work in tech so you could make your hobby your career and not have to suffer one of those boring 9-5 jobs.'

Traits: Geek / Lazy / either Snob or Materialistic

Career: Tech Guru or Video Game Streamer (HSY)

Aspiration: Computer Whiz

Complete the Computer Whiz aspiration

Reach level 10 in the Tech Guru career in the eSport Gamer branch or the Video Game Streamer career (HSY)

Officially, as the rainbow only has seven colors, the challenge is over. However, I felt it was a little weird to not include pink at the very least, since pink is also a very popular color. That’s why, in addition to pink, I created a few extra generations to round out the whole challenge. So if you want to continue the legacy for at least a little longer, you can!

'You’ve always noticed that your parent was not setting the best example. Despite this, you still love them. They're your parent! To you, love, especially familial bonds, are the most important thing in the world. You strive towards having a large, loving family and want to become the best parent you can be for your kids, in contrast to your own parents. In addition to that, you’ve always loved fashion and would draw your own outfits when you were a kid. You’d love to make your passion for fashion your career, but only if your family life allows for it.'

Traits: Loyal / Family-oriented / either Good or Generous (FR)

Career: Style Influencer or Stay-at-home Parent

Aspiration: Big Happy Family or Super Parent (Ph)

Wherever this fascination with health and medicine came from, it made you the caring and disciplined person you are today. Of course, your parents supported you throughout all of medical school and you’re eternally grateful to them. Because of their support, you can fulfill your dream of aiding others whenever they need it.'

In this gen you can choose between two routes: becoming a doctor or becoming a vet. If you only have base game or none of the listed packs, let your sim become an athlete (in this case their purpose is to lead by example on how to live a healthy lifestyle and prevent disease).

Traits: Ambitious / Neat / Active

Career: Doctor (GTW), Vet (C&D) or Athlete

Aspiration: Bodybuilder

If you have Discover University, I strongly recommend you to send your Sim to University, to add to the idea that they’re going to medical school. If you do, have them earn a degree in Biology.

Reach level 10 of the Doctor career (GTW), the Athlete career or register with the ministry of labor as a ‘Vet’:

However, you also had a very high IQ. One could almost wonder if your erraticism was caused by your giftedness, or the other way around. Either way, you decided to not let your diagnosis get in the way of your dreams, and you pursued a career in science and engineering, subjects you were highly interested in since childhood. You wanted to prove to yourself and the world that having a ‘disability’ does not have to stand in the way of greatness.'

Traits: Erratic / Genius / Noncommital

Career: Astronaut, Scientist (GTW) or Engineer (DU)

Aspiration: You decide!

Since you have the Erratic trait, you may choose any aspiration for this final generation. But make sure to complete it!

Elemental Legacy Challenge for TS3

Hi all, this is my first Sims 3 legacy challenge I've made myself, it is a result of my boredom on a Saturday evening but it was a lot of fun, so I'll throw this at you ☺

This elemental legacy challenge is for The Sims 3 and spans 9 Generations. It is inspired by the Chinese Zodaic Elements and also inspiration from my favourite JRPG's which utlise a lot of elemental themed magic. It has guided ideas and generational requirements with story themes throughout. Feel free to tag me if you have a go at this ✨

Rules:

I have listed the intended requirements for each generation, move on to the next generation once the requirements are complete or the next heir becomes a young adult

I have listed some guidance on careers, lifetime wishes and traits. I recommend taking 2-3 of the traits listed but they aren't mandatory

You can use money cheats if you wish, I've tried to write the generational order to put you in the desired financial spot for storytelling, but please just have fun with it

Please do alter and play this how you wish & how your stories pan out, the guidance is just there for ideas and isn't meant to limit you

Generation 1 - Earth

Writing is the only way you felt you had control of who you could be at all times, at anytime, you could be a male, a female, a cat, or a fairy. Writing is your escape of what you can’t be.

You can start with any season you like, depending on your mood. After that, simply follow the natural progression of the seasons in order.

Play on any lifespan you feel comfortable with (I recommend long so you have more time to enjoy your designated season).

Each generation will have a color theme (2-3 colors) that you can either spin for or select using their corresponding color wheel.

Start with the sims starter budget of 20k.

Skills are more like hobbies, you don't need to max them out unless you want to. Instead, incorporate them naturally into your gameplay for a more enjoyable experience.

For each generation, write a bucket list and complete it.

Autumn/Fall

1-2-3-4 Legacy Challenge

The 1-2-3-4 Legacy Challenge puts a twist on the traditional Legacy Challenge by spanning across all four mainline Sims games:

One generation in TS1

Two generations in TS2

Three generations in TS3

Four generations in TS4

This adds up to 10 generations in total. The goal is to explore the evolution of The Sims gameplay over the years! There is more information below, but feel free to run with the idea — customize it to suit your playstyle and tell the story you want to tell!

HOW TO PLAY / SUGGESTIONS:

Play One Generation in TS1: Start with a single Sim, find a partner through gameplay, and have at least one child. If you have more than one, designate one Sim to be the "heir."

Moving to TS2: When you’ve chosen an heir, "move" your family to TS2. Recreate your Sims in CAS, matching their physical features, clothing, and personalities as closely as possible. Adjust your starting funds to match your TS1 net worth, build or buy your home, and continue the legacy! Think about your family's story as they transition from game to game. Consider writing out how and why your Sims "moved." Were they Simply looking for a change of scenery, or did they "time travel" to another world?

Moving to TS3: When your Gen 4 heir is a child (or teen), it's time to move on to TS3! Think about which Sims you would like to take with you, and why. Would they all move together or would some stay behind? Once you’ve decided, recreate your family, and adjust your starting funds.

Moving to TS4: Finally, when your Gen 7 Sim is ready, it's time to transition to TS4. Decide which Sims you will move, recreate your family, and adjust your family funds one last time. It's time for the final act of your Sims' legacy.

OPTIONAL CHALLENGE IDEAS:

The Sims 1: There are no money cheats, but you can use terrain manipulation to reduce your funds if you want a more difficult starting scenario. If you're feeling brave, try to reach the top level of your Sims' career — that's not easy in TS1.

The Sims 2: Try to reach the top level of your Sims' careers, and/or complete their lifelong aspirations. Lifelong aspirations are like a box of chocolates — you never know what you're gonna get. This adds an element of randomness that can make your story even more interesting.

The Sims 3: Try to reach the top level of your Sims' careers, and/or fulfill their lifetime wishes. Personally, I enjoy randomizing my Sims’ traits rather than selecting them manually. However, as always, you should do what is the most fun for you.

The Sims 4: Try to reach the top level of your Sims' careers, and complete all milestones for at least one aspiration per Sim.

If you're looking for more structure / optional challenges, simslegacychallenge.com is a fantastic resource. Pick and choose whichever rules you like best.

General Advice:  To keep it fresh, consider choosing a different career/aspiration/etc. for each generation. Also, make sure to save often and create backups of your game at least once per generation — hopefully you will not need them. During my playthrough, The Sims 3 became corrupted and all of my sims stopped aging. 😢 Do not underestimate the time commitment that you’re making - Legacy Challenges can easily take hundreds of hours to complete.

It is exactly what it sounds like - it's a collection of sims that were the results of 100 baby challenges. In other words, this is a warehouse of sorts, and the only thing stocked here are sims. Are there only "The Sims 4" sims here?

Absolutely not! You can play a 100 baby challenge in almost every sims game - I'm not sure about The Sims 1, but I know for a fact you can in 2 and 3. So, in our navigation page there will also be sections for sims strictly in TS2 and TS3.

I'm playing a 100 Baby Challenge right now. Can I submit a sim?

Yes!! Please! This blog will be EMPTY if no one submits sims, because I simply cannot play that many 100 baby challenges at once. I'm playing 2 right now, and that's hard enough.

Will you have sims for download if no one submits any?

Well, yes. But not very many, and not a good variety. There will be no TS3 or TS2 sims if no one submits any, because I don't currently have either installed. So please, if you have sims you want to share, please do!

Can I just make a post and tag you so you can reblog it, instead of submitting my sims?

That's perfectly fine too! I just have the submission page to make things easier on everyone, but if you want to make the post yourself and tag me, that works just as well. Just add @100babywarehouse anywhere on your post, and I'll see it and add it to the sim collection.

I don't play 100 baby challenge, but I want to submit a legacy spare. Is that okay?

While this is called 100 Baby Warehouse, this is also fine. I will have a specific category for legacy spares on the navigation pages, because I know that most people play legacies more than 100 baby challenges (including myself). Otherwise, this blog might be rather empty, and I don't want that! Either way, as long as the sim would normally be kicked out of the main house and forgotten, left to the whims of story progression, the sim is welcome in this collection.

If this is the 100 baby warehouse, does that mean there are only babies/infants, toddlers, and children here?

No! Definitely not! Sims of any age can be added to our "inventory." Even adults and elders. So if you want several teens for the teen angst story you are wanting to write, have a look around our teen category.

Specifically, these sims were used strictly as stepping stones in a 100 Baby Challenge - in this challenge, the children are simply a means to an end, unless their challenge is done using the multiple matriarch rules, in which case the only child that matters is the final daughter of each matriarch.

And that's just unbearably sad to me.

All of these wonderful sims have such potential, they could have whole futures ahead of them, but they are denied that simply because that's how the challenge works. They are kicked out the instant they are no longer teenagers.

So here, we have a collection of many of these wonderful sims that Watchers in need may take in and care for, themselves. These sims can have any life they may dream of - or, well... have nightmares about.

The Briar Legacy - Decades Challenge Intro

Since I've started playing & will be working on posts (slowly, I'm slow, I'm old), I thought it might be good to make a sort of intro post about this legacy & challenge before I start posting.

On my previous blog i began an alternative Decades challenge that started in 1850. Then I had game issues and the save file became corrupt. I had to delete a lot of CC and ultimately decided I would restart, but instead begin in 1890, using much less CC this time. Originally my founders were Rosie and Robin Briar. I've decided instead my official founder will be their son, Gavin. Now, the Briars already have a nice little homestead set up (courtesy of my dear friend Haids), but I do want this to be a proper challenge. So Gavin will be moving out to start a life of his own and I will be following the rules as closely as possible (these rules, to be exact; the same rules I followed for In The Rose Garden).

Consider this legacy ‘historical fantasy’ more than anything. It’s the Sims, and while the creation of historical CC has grown exponentially since my first challenge, it’s still difficult to create perfect historical accuracy.

Similarly, while I will do my research and try to incorporate aspects of real history into this, I am mostly playing the challenge for the fun of it and am not going to focus too heavily on realism.

This will be mostly gameplay, but there will be some storytelling woven in and a few posed/scripted scenes. I'm not going to do as much of this as I did in Rose Garden, it's a lot of work. But there will be some.

American history can be pretty grim, especially when it comes to the treatment of others, but there are some things I am not comfortable writing about and will not include in my game. Primarily: racism, homophobia, sexual abuse, slavery, the treatment of Native Americans, etc. Anything dark will be given a warning.

In the Rose Garden featured screenshots and some content that could sometimes be NSFW. Since I am also posting here on Tumblr, I have to abide by Tumblr content rules in my screens and posts. There may be some hints of nudity, but I will try to keep it scarce and/or well-censored. On Wordpress, I’ll put a warning at the start of any post with NSFW images or themes. Here on Tumblr I will use the common hashtag #simspice (also for any sim deaths there will be the #tw: sim death tag, or #tw: sim pet death)

Hello, I'm Missy! I've created many challenges in the past, and I'm best known for the Herbs and Spices Legacy, which I co-created with my friend @sunboyish. If you know me, you know how much I love butterflies—I even have multiple tattoos of them! I searched everywhere on Tumblr but couldn't find the original butterfly legacy challenge. Butterfly Effect: A Legacy Challenge

Rules

Start out with 0 simoleons or enough to make a starter home then take the money away

Each gen only takes 20% of the funds your last generation accumulated

I love mods, so go ahead and get every mod out there, but just don't make the challenge too easy, trust me it gets boring if its easy

All CC is allowed

You don't have to level up any skills to level 10, they're just there so you have an idea on what you're going to do that generation - mostly from the career you're doing

Must complete each goal before moving on to the next generation, optional goals are optional

You don't have to complete any aspiration, unless it says

Life span can be on any, it's up to you

Make sure you look ahead each gen there may be overlap

You don't have to make this a berry challenge, but i did put a colour pallet if you want to use it
