80s-2000s hong kong cop movies: the words “good” and “evil” and “cops” and “criminals” are so much less relevant than you want them to be when crime is as organized, corruption and police brutality are as prevalent, and the government is as colonial as it is here. will our heroes work this out and develop their own code of honor, or will they merely follow the easy, violent path to success—cops and criminals both? more relevantly, how much can donnie yen blur the lines between a genuinely violent fight sequence and a striptease?

Date Everything! & Cookie Run: Kingdom shared Voice Actors

When I found out that Johnny Spash and Stardust Cookie (and the Hanks) shared a VA, I decided to explore the question: "How many VAs had a role in both Date Everything! and Cookie Run: Kingdom?"

The answer is 16. I made an excel for it and everything to get these results. Why did I spend time on this.

it was extremely kind and considerate of the devs to put content warnings on certain characters in date everything (and allow you the option to toggle the warnings on or off!) and I am not taking that for granted at all. I also understand not everything that makes someone slightly uncomfortable needs a trigger warning. that said, I really think not putting one on the religious zealot was an oversight

hmmm I'm so stuck between the Taisho and Showa era for the mystic sword au :/ In Taisho's favor, westernization had only jut begun, and the end of samurai culture was still pretty fresh, on the other hand, I already know a decent amount about the Showa era and I am really interested in the whole underlying approach of WWII during that time, but mannn it's a difficult decision ;-;

I could also go for a sort of 'begins in Taisho ends in Showa' approach, which could definitely be interesting cause of the shifting emperors and the whole economy thing they got going on. Plus, there is even more westernization in the middle of all that. Visually, they aren't too terribly different. This way I could explore sub-plots of Japan slowly becoming westernized as well as slowly becoming a stronger military power throughout the au. That would be fun. Hrm.

It definitely won't be Edo period cause even though the Edo period is a really good contender, I think having the samurai culture in there would make it messyyyy, esp cause of Yuichi's family being swordmakers. Like how are they gonna make money if there aren't anymore samurai :/ BUT jokes on ya'll, there were samurai they just were being rebels and shit. So double streessor for the Usagi family of providing weapons illegally. Ohohoh yeah, I like that a lot actually.

Anyway this has been me rambling mostly to myself. I'll likely go with a sort of mid range of Taisho transitioning into Showa, with maybe a cool sub plot about the changing of Japanese society and stuff. Yay!! I love history!!!

i need to have words with whoever dressed buck for his date bc what is even going on here??? white sneakers are super casual, paired with more formal shiny black dress pants (look at those pleats!), with a semi-casual button-up polo??? to say nothing of the disconnect colour-wise (the only worse outfits of his this season are the finale fits, but that’s another post). 

he looks as disappointed in himself as i am in the wardrobe department. 

i need to headcanon that he had trouble deciding on what to wear, going back and forth for an hour before finally landing on an ensemble he thought was good [spoiler alert: it was not, in fact good]. for someone who had dressed pretty well this season, this outfit was shock-horror.
