What's your opinion on religious influences in Dragon Ball?
There is a lot of Judeo-Christian imagery (white dove, Upa scaring Devilman with a cross, Goku as a Moses-type figure, etc.) I don't like it when Seventh-Day Adventist fearmongers like Little Light Studios call Goku a Lucifer-type figure.
Beerus and Heles look like Egyptian gods
Comment on your thoughts in the reply section and like, share, reblog, and boost. U can do this matter your religion.
Dragon Ball is a mix of different religions †☪︎✡☯☸ૐ⛩️🀀𓋹⚛
I'm not gonna talk about Journey to the West since everyone knows that Dragon Ball was influenced by that story.
Ki comes from Eastern religions. A comparison to make is the Jewish concept of ruach tamah, described by rabbis as similar to ki and as the source as Samson's power
Judeo-Christian imagery. Super Saiyan is similar to the glowing state of Stephen (my interpretation, I'm Christian btw). Goku is a "SON UNDER THE SUN". Goku is also a Moses-type figure, like Superman. A white dove also appears aside of Android 16. That's the symbol of the Holy Spirit. Upa also scares Devilman with a cross. Magic users (with the exception of Baba) are all evil. Baphomet-like demons are always the villains. Goku's values are also Judeo-Christian/Islamic. Dragon Ball has a god hierarchy like Marvel, but Zalama who is above all, just like the One Above All in Marvel, has a similarity to Yahweh of Judaism and Christianity or more like Aether of the Hypsistarian cult.
The Kais relate to the Buddhist Heavenly Kings and Hindu deities. Beerus and Heles take inspiration from Egyptian paganism.
State your opinions and thoughts in the reply section.

Deism beliefs
Tumblr media
I thought that I should take some time to explain some information on my theistic beliefs as a deistic pagan.
I am a deist, meaning I believe in one Creator that does not interfere in the world. These beliefs are rooted in logic and reason rather than “miraculous works”.
I personally believe that the Creator finds minor amusement almost in relationships with their creations, but does not go out of their way to change any course. I believe any unexplainable events are rather conducted by individual spirits from the Otherworld, such as spirit guides or Guardian Angels, or fae. (More on spirit work later.)
The only interventions I somewhat believe are from the Creator are large universal coincidences, but that’s just me personally.
But here are the deistic beliefs
Deism has five essential beliefs (from ligonier.org):
A Supreme Being: Deism teaches that there is one Supreme God who made all things and who watches over the world. This God has been likened to a great clockmaker who winds the world up like a clock and lets it run by its own laws, not interfering once he has started the process.
Although deism tends to stress God’s nonintervention in the world, some deists have had a view of providence in which God is guiding His creation.
Worship: Deism calls mankind to worship the one Supreme God, but deists differ as to what this looks like. Many of them believe that worship consists in the pursuit of a virtuous life. Some deists have held to a view of the Supreme God that led them to pray; others have not.
Morality: In the deistic worldview, virtue is the highest goal of man. We are acceptable to the Supreme God by right living. All people have the same sense of virtue and know how we ought to live, especially in our relationship with our fellow human beings.
Repentance: People appease the Supreme God by grieving over those things that they know they have done wrong. Deists see no place for a God who requires a blood sacrifice to satisfy His justice.
Immortality: Deists have differed on whether human beings have an immortal soul and on the existence of the afterlife. Many deists have denied immortality, while others have affirmed it.
Deists who affirm the existence of an afterlife have generally held that all humanity may attain to eternal life by doing what is right. (In other words, good or virtuous people go to heaven when they die.)
So these beliefs essentially make up my theism, with mild variation. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! I’d love to open conversation about this with anyone interested. 💜

I look up at the sky and pray everyday to any God that may hear me. I don't really ever hear anything back, but in a medical sense maybe that might be fine too. It's no hard feelings though, I wouldn't ever hold it against any higher power above, they would be above all after all. I simply like to ramble about my day and how I am doing is all.

Ben olsam almam beni, adamdan saymam beni... Aslında bunlar tamamen semboller, Allah bizim kendisine yönelmemizi istiyor o kadar... evet her şey sembol, her şey şifre, her şey anahtar. klapaucius gibi rosebud gibi. sonsuz huzura ermenin şifresi rosebud olsa sen onu kazablanka diye girsen nereye varırsın biliyor musun? işte bu tip düşünceler neticesinde de hoş geldin agnostik kardeş.
siyasal islamın -maalesef- ateizmi beslediği şu çağda yapılacak tek şey neye inanıyorsak onu yaşamamız. hatalarımıza eksiklerimize rağmen. kendimizi ocak dışı ilan etmeden, aforoz etmeden. gücümüzün yettiğince devamlılık ve tutarlılık. bunlar da bulaşıcı üstelik. bende olan sana geçer. bendeki iyiyi elimde tutmak için sana da sahip çıkmam gerekir o yüzden. kötülükler zaten wunschpunsch gibi anında yayılıyor, önemli olan tayrenia ile bubonike karşı büyüyü bozacak şifreyi bulmak. şifre: Allah'a yönelmede devamlılık ve istikrar.
sadece ateizmin kafiriyim diye bir cümle yazacaktım, konu nerelere geldi.
bu konu devam eder.

'Rapture' is the latest stunning piece of alternative folk from the hand of We Are All Fossils. The song highlights Deist's incredible voice and ability to create soft and simple, heart wrenching soundscapes.

The song highlights Deist’s incredible voice and ability to create soft and simple, heart wrenching soundscapes. Following single ‘Hollow’, we had high hopes for ‘Rapture’, as ‘Hollow’ is the track we put on when emotions are bottled up and need to be set free. His ability to write songs, short…

Mike Vargo: Bad Religion, Good Religion
Trying to grasp how the world works is, literally, a trying occupation. For years I pursued it as a journalist, studying the actions of the great and the ungreat. These days, the only official “reporting” I do is occasionally reviewing live theater. The plays are scripted simulations of real life and I get to hear incisive, memorable lines spoken on stage.  But one of the best lines came…

its so funny to me when ppl realize that the founding fathers weren't puritans like guys actually puritanical ideals weren't as prevalent in colonial america as you were led to believe. your elementary school teacher lied to you about history just as much as they lied to you about biology. they were a small religious sect that eventually grew larger as a reactionary movement against social freedoms. most of the founding fathers thought jesus was just some guy. when they said 'under god' they didn't mean The God; they mostly meant 'i mean there's got to be some guy up there doing all this shit right? so we should all probably be good people to make him happy'. john adams said he thought organized religion was stopping us from achieving utopia. there were gay people in colonial america and everyone knew they were gay. the entire country was not massachusetts.

Day 2: Past What's that? The week is over? No, no, it's only day two, so don't worry about it. I haven't said much about their past because I try to keep them canon-compliant and also… because I love to change my mind. Still, I've drawn them a few times around this age, so here's something a bit more specific.
