What will help you go through Saturn lessons? Saturn in the houses
Tumblr media
Saturn in the 1st house
Saturn in the first house requires a person to develop a deep understanding of their responsibilities and capacity for self-discipline. To master its lessons, it is essential to learn to accept yourself as you are, with all your flaws and strengths, while also working on your self-confidence and self-esteem. Saturn teaches patience, so you must be prepared that the results of your efforts will not come immediately but through consistent hard work and overcoming inner barriers. The limitations Saturn may impose should not be seen as punishment but rather as opportunities for growth and the strengthening of character. Building a clear structure in life, creating a daily routine, and taking a systematic approach to problem-solving will help manage its influence more easily. Self-discipline becomes the key to success: the more order and organization you have in your life, the easier it will be to overcome challenges. It is also important to learn not to shift responsibility for your life onto circumstances or other people but to see yourself as the rightful master of your destiny. Accepting limitations and working on yourself will gradually lead to inner strength, stability, and self-respect.
Saturn in the 2nd house
Saturn in the second house teaches responsibility, discipline, and patience regarding resources, self-sufficiency, and value. To navigate these lessons, it is important to develop inner stability and learn to recognize the true value of yourself and your life, regardless of external circumstances. Start by identifying your priorities in the financial and material realms and understanding which beliefs about money and resources limit you. Saturn requires a structured approach, so build a habit of budgeting, saving, and working toward long-term financial goals.
Equally important is the lesson of self-sufficiency—learn to rely on your own skills and efforts to feel secure about the future. On an emotional level, it is necessary to overcome feelings of lack or fear of loss, which Saturn may intensify, and gradually replace them with an awareness of your worth. Developing patience and resilience will help you realize that success in this area comes through gradual effort rather than instant results. Practice gratitude for what you already have and cultivate a realistic approach to managing resources, avoiding extremes—both greed and excessive extravagance.
Saturn in the 3rd house
Saturn in the third house teaches discipline in communication, thinking, and learning. It demands structuring your thoughts, learning to express yourself clearly and accurately, and formulating ideas. The key to mastering these lessons lies in patience, consistency, and responsibility while learning and interacting with others. It is important to overcome the fear of expressing your thoughts or a lack of confidence in your intellect. Developing a systematic approach to learning, such as setting specific goals and deadlines for mastering new information, is essential.
Additionally, it is important to work on your relationships with siblings, neighbors, and people in your immediate environment, showing more patience and a willingness to engage in dialogue. Saturn in this house does not tolerate superficiality and requires deep analysis of any situation. Gradually developing critical thinking will help overcome obstacles. If communication challenges arise, practicing writing, reading, or public speaking can be beneficial — this will strengthen confidence and allow you to structure your ideas more effectively.
Saturn in the 4th house
The lessons of Saturn in the fourth house are connected to deep inner work on one’s emotional world, family foundations, and emotional security. To overcome these challenges, it is necessary to consciously work on one’s roots and relationships with family, especially parents, as karmic ties or heavy family patterns often emerge here. Taking responsibility for your emotional maturity becomes a key step: instead of blaming your family or circumstances, it is important to see how they have shaped your personality and learn to build your life based on your own principles. Saturn demands discipline and patience, so creating a stable home environment, even if it requires time and effort, becomes the foundation of your inner balance.
The lessons often involve learning to cope with loneliness and emotional restraint, finding support within yourself rather than in external circumstances. Learning to set boundaries with others is helpful, as well as recognizing your right to personal space and emotional well-being. Practices such as self-reflection, working with a psychologist, or meditation can help you better understand your fears and limitations, freeing space for more mature and healthier emotional responses.
Saturn in the 5th house
The Saturn in the fifth house requires patience, awareness, and inner discipline. The fifth house is associated with creativity, self-expression, joy, children, romantic relationships, and games. When Saturn enters this house, it can impose limitations and challenges in these areas, prompting an individual to gain a deeper understanding of their true needs and talents. It is important to learn to take responsibility for one’s own happiness and creative fulfillment rather than shifting it onto circumstances or other people. Saturn demands consistent effort and a serious approach to any creative project; superficiality and carelessness will not bring satisfaction. Overcoming fears of self-expression, criticism, and failure plays a key role. It is essential to find what truly brings joy and to develop it despite difficulties.
The romantic relationships may serve as a lesson in trust and maturity: Saturn teaches one to see love not as a source of pleasure but as a commitment and opportunity for growth. Regarding children, this placement often pushes for a serious and responsible attitude toward their upbringing or toward developing one’s own “inner maturity.” It is important to learn to find joy in simple things and to allow oneself to express happiness, even when it requires effort. Accepting discipline as a foundation for growth and realizing that satisfaction comes with time and hard work helps you successfully navigate Saturn’s lessons.
Saturn in the 6th house
To pass Saturn’s lessons in the sixth house, it is necessary to focus on discipline, responsibility, and service in daily life. The sixth house symbolizes work, health, routine, and self-discipline, so developing beneficial habits and patience in daily duties are key themes. Saturn demands structure and diligence, so learning to plan tasks, organize work time, and not avoid difficulties is important. Overcoming laziness, chaos, and procrastination will help harmonize Saturn’s influence. Special attention should be paid to health: regular medical check-ups, physical activity, and a balanced diet become essential tools for maintaining body and spirit balance.
Saturn’s lesson here is to recognize the value of work, humility, and service to others. Work done with responsibility and without the desire for immediate rewards brings inner growth and strengthens character. It is important to understand that success comes through painstaking effort, not quick results. Accepting routine duties as a means of self-development and improving one’s life will help to pass Saturn’s lessons with wisdom and resilience.
Saturn in the 7th house
Saturn in the seventh house teaches responsibility in relationships, maturity, and balance between personal freedom and commitments to others. To navigate these lessons, it is essential to build honest, stable, and mutually respectful partnerships. This primarily requires patience and a willingness to work on yourself and your relationships, especially when facing challenges or disappointments. Saturn may manifest as delays in forming a serious union, but this time can be used for self-discovery and developing communication skills. Understanding your expectations and limitations will help avoid illusions and disappointments.
It is also important to realize that responsibility in relationships is not only about obligations but also about respecting boundaries—both your own and your partner’s. Practices like meditation and working with a psychologist or mentor can be helpful in overcoming fears and insecurities related to intimacy. Respect for yourself and others, a realistic approach to relationships, and a readiness to learn from mistakes are the keys to successfully mastering the lessons of Saturn in the seventh house.
Saturn in the 8th house
Saturn in the eighth house indicates profound transformations, challenges, and lessons related to themes of intimacy, shared resources, debts, inheritance, and emotional depth. To successfully navigate Saturn’s lessons in this position, learning to accept change as an inevitable part of life is crucial. Develop patience, discipline, and responsibility in managing shared finances, as well as in relationships that involve trust and emotional vulnerability. Work on fears of losing control and embrace the necessity of letting go of what no longer serves your growth. Practicing meditation, mindfulness, and other activities that promote emotional healing can be helpful. Strive to find a balance between the material and the spiritual, recognizing that true strength comes from inner peace and the ability to overcome fears. Cultivate resilience, trust in life, and accountability for your actions.
Saturn in the 9th house
The lessons of Saturn in the ninth house are associated with embracing discipline and responsibility in matters of faith, philosophy, education, and life beliefs. This placement emphasizes the need for a serious approach to broadening one’s worldview, studying profound knowledge, and developing personal wisdom. It teaches patience and demonstrates that true understanding comes through hard work, personal experience, and overcoming internal limitations.
It is essential to overcome the fear of making mistakes in the search for truth and to learn to trust your inner teacher. Saturn’s lessons in this house demand a striving for deep understanding rather than superficial perception and an awareness that genuine knowledge requires time and effort. Taking responsibility for your beliefs and being willing to learn, even when it seems challenging, will pave the way to wisdom. Saturn also highlights the importance of structure, which may manifest in the need to plan studies or travels.
Saturn in the 10th house
Saturn in the tenth house indicates the need to learn lessons of responsibility, perseverance, and discipline, especially in professional matters and issues related to social status. The key to successfully overcoming Saturn’s challenges in this position lies in accepting the necessity of long-term effort and building a structured approach to life without expecting immediate results. Developing patience and understanding that true achievements come through consistent effort and a willingness to take on greater responsibilities is important.
The fear of failure can be a strong companion, so working on self-confidence and avoiding excessive self-criticism is crucial. Focus on quality over quantity in your tasks and projects. Strive to find a balance between career ambitions and personal life, ensuring that your professional sphere doesn’t completely drain your energy.
Saturn calls for awareness of your true goals. This is a time to reassess your aspirations: does your work align with your inner purpose? Be prepared for the possibility of changing direction or letting go of outdated goals that are no longer relevant. Embracing responsibility for your choices, developing self-discipline, and maintaining a long-term perspective will help you achieve sustainable success and fully realize your potential.
Saturn in the 11th house
Saturn in the eleventh house teaches us responsibility within social circles, the development of friendships, and the fulfillment of long-term dreams. This lesson requires patience and a conscious choice of surroundings, as friends can become important teachers. To navigate Saturn’s lessons, it is crucial to learn how to structure your goals and demonstrate discipline in achieving them. Challenges in trusting others or feelings of isolation may arise, but they serve as a catalyst for developing inner strength.
It is beneficial to cultivate teamwork skills without fear of taking on leadership roles or responsibility for group projects. Moreover, it is important to realize that true freedom comes through conscious limitations and the proper allocation of energy. Regular self-development, awareness of your role in society, and a willingness to reassess your beliefs about friendship and collective work will help you navigate this period harmoniously.
Saturn in the 12th house
Saturn in the twelfth house indicates the need to work through deep subconscious fears, hidden limitations, and karmic debts. To pass the lessons of Saturn in this position, it is important to embrace solitude as a means of inner growth rather than isolation. Practicing meditation, mindfulness, and spiritual self-discovery will become powerful tools for personal development. Patience, humility, and the willingness to let go of the past, including resentments and inner regrets, are essential. Saturn demands discipline and structure, so even in spiritual practices, it is crucial to maintain consistency. Reading, self-analysis, and helping others through charity or volunteer work can help harmonize the influence of this planet. Taking responsibility for subconscious reactions and working through deep emotions such as guilt or shame will aid in removing internal blocks. The lessons of Saturn in the twelfth house may be challenging, but they bring strength, wisdom, and the ability to live more consciously, freeing oneself from illusions.

How long do you think it would take the reader to actually fall in love with Capitano because they're in an arranged marriage? And the other way around
Starting with Capitano!
Capitano will always uphold the values of marriage and will be a model husband. He is an a generous yet pragmatic provider. Capitano will not spoil you, but he will ensure what you have is more than adequate for your needs. However, above all, Capitano is honest and loyal, he will never lie or attempt to deceive you.
At first this ideal husband behavior is more so because he respects the institution of marriage very highly and not necessarily because of who you are, though Capitano makes an effort to get to know you. He questions you about your habits and hobbies and after a while will think about how to cater to them.
Capitano actually has rather high expectations of his spouse. I imagine Capitano was pushed to marry due to his status and position, so he will want a partner who is independent, intelligent and dutiful. He will expect the same level of respect in the union that he is giving to you. The irony is that while he picked these characteristics to get a lover who will not disturb him, Capitano is deeply attracted to diligent, mindful and clever individuals. So as the reader demonstrates these traits, Capitano begins to fall in love with them, but due to their independent nature they aren't be the most receptive to the ways in which Capitano shows love, namely by being over protective and insisting on doing everything together. He's home so seldom that what little free time he has he would prefer to spend with his spouse. This becomes especially apparent the longer you two are together.
As detailed above, Capitano possesses many admirable traits which on paper make him easy to fall for, however this ignores his blunt, keen and sometimes prideful nature which depending on who you are, could rub you the wrong way at first.
He is an acute observer even without you detailing the quotidian goings on of your daily life, Capitano will start to notice and comment. He isn't necessarily critiquing, just seeing and noting. He will casually tell you about yourself which can be incredibly jarring at first, especially if you're unused to being seen by the people in your life. However...when it comes to himself, he doesn't freely offer information which can be frustrating. He wants to expose all of your inner workings, but is very selective when divulging his own. He begins to share more freely when you earn his trust, which builds slower than his actual affections for you. Capitano will come to love you before he fully trusts you. It's just the nature of the fatui that make him so suspicious and not necessarily you. He wants to trust you but years in his position have made it difficult for him to lower his guard.
Basically, Capitano appreciates a partner who is brave, self-sufficent and above all loyal. Devote yourself to him and Capitano will find his feelings changing rather soon into your union. Ultimately it takes maybe 2-3 months for Capitano to fall for the reader.
The reader in A Lady's Secret is incredibly independent and self-sufficient young woman from a modest background who knows what she wants and doesn't require Capitano's support. She is principled, hardworking, and doesn't meddle in Capitano's affairs. In fact she develops a pretty well rounded life outside of their marriage. She has season tickets to the ballet, successfully convinces Capitano to let her have two dogs (large thick furred beasts who can easily takedown wolves) and walks them around the forest to visit their distant neighbors when the winds aren't too cold.
The reader does these activities alone because she assumes that Capitano wouldn't want to join her but when he quietly questions why she doesn't invite him she starts to incorporate him into these activities. Not all of them. Capitano has no interest in visiting the neighbors, but he can be convinced to attend a quiet night at the ballet and walk the dogs in the forest. And the reader while initially worried she'd find that his company dulled her experiences, is delighted to realize that she actually prefers his accompaniment.
They definitely butted heads in the beginning when Capitano demanded that she inform him every time she left the house. She wasn't too keen on her whereabouts being surveilled, as she was used to coming and going as she pleased. Initially he was more flexible about these things but as he began to get attached he assigned her a personal body guard which had her really annoyed with him. This led to an argument where she called "smothering" and he called her "stubborn."
The difficult part for the reader early on is that she's intensely attracted to Capitano so she starts the sexual part of their relationship right away, but her feelings for him are slower to crystalize and Capitano uses this to his advantage. When you're still arguing with him about a security detail, he'll be withholding until you agree to his terms.
For someone as independent as the reader she struggles with Capitano's desire for control over her. He's not possessive per se but he is very very over protective and unfortunately due to his position he has every right to be. She just resents that she doesn't quite feel like his equal when he frets over her like this.
However, as she comes to appreciate his company, she is more permissive of Capitano's particular brand of affection which is demonstrated through ensuring her safety. Once the reader learns to appreciate Capitano's brand of care she falls for him. He is a supportive partner and an excellent listener. He is stoic and gruff but she knows from his actions that he cares for her deeply. I would say it takes the reader about 5-7 months to reciprocate his feelings in earnest.

North Node in the Natal Chart and Synastry
I wanted to do a post on the North Node in the Natal Chart and in Synastry. The North Node in Astrology represents our destiny and the direction we are headed in this lifetime.
Where the South Node is placed -it’s always opposite the North Node-this tells us what we already know; this is an area of life accompanied by feelings of familiarity & feelings of comfort. We are meant to be working towards the direction of our North Node in this lifetime.
Personally, I give precedent to the house placement of the North Node over the sign; but you are welcome to incorporate both the sign and house placement.
In synastry I make a mental note of the nodal house overlays, and I absolutely find some Node connections important. However, I do think you can have a soul connection with someone and NOT have nodal contacts.
In Synastry we can look at house overlays and see where our North Node falls for another person and vice versa; the house placement of a person’s node in our own chart (and vice versa) can show how or what area of life we are encouraging one another to grow.
Random Node Aspects
A common placement I see in star crossed relationships is one person’s Venus square the Nodes of another.
If you can’t get rid of them or break away from one another Saturn in one chart is likely making an aspect to the nodes of the other persons.
Venus in one chart conjoining the South Node of another tells us this is a past life connection.
When one person’s Venus conjoins the North Node of another something about this connection is important to both parties’ personal development.
I want to encourage everyone to look at the planets they have conjunct the South node in their own Natal Chart and see what patterns, habits, thoughts, are holding you back from the direction of your north node. Ask yourself how you can move toward your north node? What is holding you back? What ancestral patterns or beliefs do you need to release in order to move in the direction of your destiny?
If you have natal planets conjunct the south node -Particularly Sun & Moon, it can feel like you are in a holding pattern bound to ancestral patterning. How can you transcend these patterns instead of reliving them?
Revered Nodes can provide a piece to the puzzle:
When we have opposite nodal placements in synastry, for instance my North node is in my 8th house, and I meet someone and they have North Node in the 2nd house; we can show one another what traits each of us needs to develop to reach our full potential
North Node in the Natal Chart and in Synastry

In Synastry, their North Node in YOUR 2nd house may help you out financially, they may enhance your self-esteem, they may awaken you to what you REALLY need and value in life.

「 tws + notes: no tws, unedited as BAWLS, dc writer newbie but im very enthusiastic abt the comics and shows and movies, dog metaphor but insane and unsubtle, explicitly vigilante!reader in dick grayson’s part, dramatic asf but not really angst 」
Tumblr media
「 gn!reader, can be platonic or romantic <3 」
↳ ft. bruce wayne, clark kent, richard "dick" grayson, and john constantine
author's note: so. we all know what my favourite thing right now is (⌒_⌒;) i still adore everything i used to write for,,, but i’ve been on my comic motives recently (*゚ー゚*) ! reading dc mostly but spider-noir and deadpool have been picked up along the way!!! um. anyways. if i get comfy enough, i might do more dc stuff but i get that this isn't my exact audience on this blog— sorry my loves (´_`。) </3 might write a part two cuz i love jason. and booster gold. and like every single one of them (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ) halfway through writing this i realized everything feels very literal, so i feel the need to mention that this is not dog hybrid reader stuff but if u fw that u can imagine it that way
Tumblr media
perhaps the habit of burning bridges you’re actively crossing isn’t a good idea. and you’re not an idiot, not in the slightest— but even if you were, everyone knows that needless self destruction when developing relationships is counterproductive.
you strike the match anyways, like it’s just a force of habit. another instinct.
if you spent life knowing that the hand only beats. why would you expect it to do anything else when it’s lowered towards you?
you learn to keep your hopes down, ears alert, and teeth sharp. you learn to get used to the taste of blood. to make things messy and complicated, and to end things when they need to be ended, because god knows it’s only self preservation when you do it.
you learn that the only way to survive is to bite— to hurt before something hurts you.
and one day, an unfamiliar hand that extends towards you decides to feed instead.
why do you still bare your teeth?
Tumblr media
▸ BRUCE is unsure why he sticks around. he’s understanding, but also reasonably frustrated with your antics. it doesn’t evade him that they stem from something deeply rooted in your past— but he doesn’t know what to do about it. if there is anything to do.
at his core, he's a detective. he's got an eye for digging into strange pasts and a knack for knowing things he isn't supposed to. but in spite of his paranoia and hunger to know, bruce doesn't pry too much. he can do research on his own, without you ever having to realize.
you’re self-sufficient, he’ll give you that. you’re unsure sometimes of whether he’s proud that you can take care of yourself or irritated that you consistently insist on doing so. he’s unsure too. not like he lets you know.
it’s a mutual understanding the two of you share— he stays, you bite. yet bruce, unsurprisingly, doesn’t mind being bitten. he’d hope that the reason he’s sticking around is for the selfless reason of making sure you’re alright. though, the reality is, you’ve grown on him, whether you realize or not.
bruce has always been fond of strays.
Tumblr media
▸ CLARK is nothing but patient. and that scares you beyond reason.
he sees the way you bare your teeth whenever someone gets too close for comfort to you. he knows when to back away, when to speak, when not to— he’s always attempting to never make you feel backed into a corner.
somehow, it makes you more anxious seeing just how much he understands about you. he knows just how to coax you out of the corner of your cage, how to bring you in closer, and it almost, almost convinces you to let your guard down.
the thought of that is terrifying.
you try barking, you try biting— and none of it works. clark doesn’t coddle you when you’re wrong— but he’s absolutely nothing but gentle. patient and understanding, sometimes you wonder how a man of steel can be so soft for someone like you.
Tumblr media
▸ DICK isn’t dumb. it’s fairly easy for him to put two and two together. quickly, he figures out what he’s dealing with when he encounters you.
his conversations with you are never without a note of levity— a deliberate action on his end, you’re certain. he knows, you know, and because of it, everything feels oddly tense around him, even with the attempts to banter.
it’s too late to run. his observant gaze has caught a glimpse of you through your one way glass, and he’s chosen to meet your eyes with a smile. there's a sense of foreboding that gnaws at your gut, anxiously anticipating what might be lurking under that grin of his.
on his end, there are no malicious intentions. he doesn’t really have ulterior motives when it comes to you.
most times, he chooses to defend you and be the one standing at your side when no one else does. you don't understand why he insists on offering you friendship when all you do is pull away.
after a long night of patrolling the streets of gotham, you find the two of you leaning on the railing of a rooftop side by side. your eyes are on this cityscape of gotham. his are on you.
“you keep on insisting i’m not as bad as i seem,” you mutter under your breath.
late nights make for loose lips. he’s pleasantly surprised to hear you continue the thought instead of attempting to take it back.
“do you just hate being right?” you snort, allowing your gaze to flit over to him just for a second.
"no." dick smiles, shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly. “i think you just hate the fact that i could be.”
Tumblr media
▸ you tried not to bother with CONSTANTINE. the day the two of you met, you didn’t even introduce yourself.
john constantine’s presence alone reeks of trouble, as acrid and suffocating as the cigarette smoke that clings to his tan trenchcoat. you are attuned to things like that. he notices.
one thing you actually enjoy about him? he doesn’t chase. he’s a nosy one, for certain, sticking his nose into places no one in their right mind would— but for the most part, he steers clear of yours. initially, you think it’s because your urge to be left alone by him is so prevalent that he’s just chosen to heed the warning and not approach when unwanted.
but he’s not a man known for abiding by rules. he’s much more curious with you than you notice or prefer. in a way, your distance has made you more myth than man, more tale than tangible— you are a rumor passed through whispers between lips, a silent shadow lurking in the corner of the room… and he loves a good mystery.
“c’mon. you're actin’ like ‘m gonna bite your head off, luv,” he chuckles, lighting up the cigarette between his fingers.
i'd probably be the one doing that if i got any closer. you keep that thought in your head, standing with a gap between the two of you as always.
he doesn't miss how you avoid looking into his eyes like his gaze could murder, instead, focusing your gaze on the cherry of the cig, burning bright red.
“not much for a wee natter, hm?”
the quick shake of your head only makes his smirk grow. you could just walk away… so why exactly were you sticking around?
“fine by me. quiet company’s welcome.” that’s a sentence he’d probably never say to anyone else. in a strange way, he feels like he knows you well enough to be comfortable with the words that hang in the air.
it’s weird. you’re completely unknown, and yet, an irrational part of his mind keeps nagging at him to look just a little closer at you. sometimes, when he listens to it, he catches a glimpse of something silent in your eyes— an all too familiar pain of a person who can’t help but hurt the things that they cling onto.
so that’s why you’re keen on keeping everyone at arms length. it almost makes him laugh to think how similar the two of you are, plain as day, and yet unnoticed by you— a person who won’t even meet his eyes.

Birth date analysis // October 25 - The Day Of Substantive Form
The Day Of Substantive Form
Those born on October 25 must give form to their ideas. Although they can be extremely imaginative people, their dreams and visions mean nothing to them unless they can be substantiated in physical reality. Those born on this day generally present a solid, earthly exterior to the world and, although often quiet, will give reassuring support to their families and friends. They serve as a rock on which their colleagues, students or employees can depend without fear of being let down.
More highly evolved October 25 people are not satisfied with only developing their physical self but want to universalize their substantive feelings for form and structure. The great opportunity and challenge for all October 25 people is to give shape to their fantasy and to translate their innate physicality into productive work. Consequently, they should take an interest in art, politics, literature, city planning, ecology or a host of other areas in which their solid, substantial natures can produce tangible results. Ultimately, however, they may progress still further, expressing a truly original creativity that reaches into more abstract or theoretical areas as well. All along the way they must beware of power urges getting out of control and being diverted into destructive or immoral activities.
October 25 people hate chaos and like to be in control of things. They may be very intolerant of those whom they see as flaky, abstruse or vague, and can be quite severe with such people. They frequently will fight to overcome their own uncertainties in their twenties, ruthlessly hanging in there no matter what and hammering away at themselves until they have built a rock-solid personality. In doing so. however, they may have to cut away a certain amount of sensitivity. They will have to beware of being too critical of those they perceive as less mature than they.
A great challenge for October 25 people is not to get stuck, either at the most basic physical manifestation of their personalities or at any further step in their spiritual evolution. Habit, repetition, comfort and financial security will tempt them to quit and rest at an acceptable level, giving in to the desire to luxuriate or vegetate and forsaking their ideals and goals. Another danger is that when young they will reach a high level of achievement in the physical realm and not know what to do with themselves when age comes on and this power starts slipping away. It is precisely here that the opportunity exists to graduate to a higher plane, but they will often struggle for some years before doing so. October 25 people are tremendously self-sufficient, but must learn to ask for help when needed and give others a chance to assume the dominant role from time to time.
Strengths:
Physical
Substantial
Dependable
Weaknesses:
Overbearing
Complacent
Intolerant

On Pernography by Anne McCaffrey – article for Algol Magazine, Issue 33 (Winter 1978-79). (Reprint from Algol Issue 14, Fall 1968.)
Authors and their worlds are fascinating, particularly if you are the author concerned. Much as I would like to comply with those readers who would assign a mystical origin to the Dragons of Pern, there isn't one. (Read the rest below the cut)
I was casting about me, like Lawyer Peachum in the Beggar's Opera, for a good execution (of a story) for the next Assizes, and a stray thought dwelt overlong on the subject of dragons. Like Doris Pitkin Buck, I have always felt that dragons suffered from a bad press. It occured to me to remedy this distressing situation with a well-meant short story in their favor. Some 160,000 words later I'm still "dragonizing."
It came about in this wise: so dragons fly? Why? And why fire-breathing dragons? Gotta be a reason. A menace? That's it, a menace only dragons can combat. Great. But dragons as big as mine were looming in the authorial eye would be difficult to manage unless . . . . ah ha . . . telepathic dragons, mind-linked at hatching to men … dragonmen … dragonriders. Now there's a name with charisma in gobs. Ah ha ha! Yeah, but why? Hmmm. Dragons flying, breathing fire … think up something that ignites on contact with oxygen . . . mad dash to science library. Ah ha. Phosphines. Air-borne, telepathic, fire-breathing dragons menaced by what? Something also airborne. Large inimical creatures? Nah, too tame. How about a mindless organism? Again ah ha. Space travelling spores … see Arrhenius. On with the story.
The Dragons of Pern are unusual beasts, constructs if ever there were some: they get "impressed" on hatching like ducklings, are telepaths, oviparous but their mating is comparable to bees rather than lizards (although I've never observed saurian habits); dragons are carnivorous but can last eight days, when full-grown, on one full meal, like a camel. They have two stomachs like cows, one for comestibles, one for combustibles.
Actually, dragons don't fly: they only think they do which is how they do it. Even with a boron-crystalline exo-skeleton, dragons have too much mass for their wing-span. They levitate, using wings for guidance, braking and self-deception. True, the fire-lizards from which the Terran colonists developed the Pern dragon could fly: it was their parapsychic abilities that the geneticists strengthened.
Having more or less settled my dragonology, I more forget it and build my the plot structure around the humans. It followed logically, however, that men who could think to dragons would be regarded with considerable awe by their less talented peers. Ergo, an exclusive confraternity, self-immolating, self-sustaining. (I may well have been reading about the Knights Templar at that point, I’ve forgotten, but the social structure of Pern is decidedly feudal with occasional modern-child-rearing overtimes.) F’lar was the epitome of the proper dragonman.
Now introduce an outsider into the Weyr for observation and comparison. It’s more fun to put the sexes so enter Lessa, in Cinderella guise, with sufficient wit and courage not to need the cop-out of a fairy godmother. (I don’t have one, don’t see why she should.)
There are several villains, ‘cause half the fun of writing is the villain: Fax who is greedy, R’gul who is well-motivated but dense, and the Threads which couldn’t care less and therefore are the best variety of menace. (I tend to develop outside influences anyway: I’ve had enough in my lifetime of nation versus nation.)
The last ingredient was the timing: the dragons were created (by me and Pern) for a necessity–remove that necessity from the memory of living man, and see what happens. We’ve all seen certain customs upended, debased, disregarded, yet at their inception, there were good reasons for them. Why do men customarily place women on their left side? So their sword/gun arm is free . . . or so they can protect women from slops throw out an upper story window. Swords (and guns, god willing) are no longer de rigeur, but the convention/tradition/custom continues: and modern plumbing takes care of the other hazard that initiated the custom. A simple instance, granted, but valid.
I know a lot more about dragons and Pernese than I’m admitting right now, but I don’t want to spoil the upcoming novel, Dragonflight (Ballantine Books, U6124, 75¢). Pern fascinates me utterly: the dragons are, in essence, mature concepts of the imaginary characters that bore me company in my youth. Or an itch which I can’t leave alone. I am bedraggled. I’ll be glad to answer specific questions on pornography from those interested. – Anne McCaffrey

She's becoming hungrier
Xerxes thought back to his last feeding of Athena, her stern little pedipalps gnawing on his wrist. It did hurt - but it was the good kind. The kind he'd die to feel more of. Though, he could swear he'd seen a detached blood vessel disappear into her mouth as they finished up..
He rubbed his wrist. It felt weird. Earlier on it tended to not leave scars - shockingly enough (one of those angel things, he thinks). But lately a bleached, slowly sprawling shape had started appearing on the usual feeding spot. Mindlessly, he glanced at it, out of habit. It resembled a star, if you looked at it right. Or a lightningbolt.
He angled his wrist, watching the mark contort along with skin. It'd also bleached his fur.
She takes longer feeding. But that's not unusual, she's a growing baby. And grow she did, at record speeds within the last six months he'd had her. Athena's blobby mass had become the source of his affections, an astoundingly earth shaking force of paternal instinct overcoming the Judge.
Xerxes had had to take some time off duties nonetheless. More than he already had on account of needing to watch for an infant - he'd become a bit preoccupied with Athena's growing appetite and need for nurture. Though she was arguably becoming more self sufficient, she'd gotten clingy lately. She spoke full sentences now - short ones, but still sentences. Another sign of her increasing developments.
He rubbed the space between his eyes, feeling achingly dizzy for a moment. Perhaps he should start carrying prey to her at this stage..

"Navigating Academic Life: Challenges, Growth, and Success"
Academic life is a journey filled with discovery, challenges, and personal growth. Whether you're in high school, college, or pursuing higher education, the experience is a mix of intellectual stimulation, deadlines, social interactions, and self-discovery. While it can be demanding, academic life shapes us into more knowledgeable, disciplined, and resilient individuals.
The Challenges of Academic Life
One of the biggest struggles in academic life is balancing coursework, extracurricular activities, and personal responsibilities. Deadlines pile up, exams bring stress, and sometimes, motivation dwindles. Many students face the pressure of maintaining good grades while also managing part-time jobs, social life, and mental well-being. Procrastination and burnout are common pitfalls, making time management a crucial skill to develop.
Another challenge is adapting to different learning styles and expectations. Each subject, professor, or institution may require unique approaches to studying. Some thrive in structured environments, while others struggle to keep up with fast-paced lectures and independent learning. The key to overcoming these obstacles is resilience—learning how to adapt, seek help when needed, and continuously refine one's study habits.
The Growth and Rewards
Despite the challenges, academic life offers immense rewards. Education is not just about memorizing facts; it's about learning how to think critically, solve problems, and communicate effectively. The knowledge gained from academics serves as a foundation for future careers and personal growth.
Beyond academics, students build lifelong friendships, network with mentors, and develop skills that extend beyond the classroom. College and university life, in particular, expose students to diverse perspectives, fostering cultural awareness and open-mindedness. These experiences help shape character and prepare individuals for the complexities of the real world.
Keys to Success in Academic Life
To make the most of academic life, students should focus on effective study techniques, time management, and self-care. Here are some essential tips for success:
1. Develop Good Study Habits – Find what works best for you, whether it’s group study sessions, note-taking techniques, or online resources. The freedom to explore various subjects and activities allows you to discover your true passions. For many, this period is a time of self-discovery—identifying what truly drives you, what you care about, and how you wish to contribute to the world. It’s a time when failures are reframed as learning opportunities, and success is measured not just in grades but in personal fulfillment and growth.
2. Manage Your Time Wisely – Prioritize tasks, break them into manageable parts, and avoid last-minute cramming. Time management is more than just a productivity hack; it’s a cornerstone of academic success. By managing your time wisely, you can reduce stress, improve your academic performance, and create a healthier work-life balance. It enables you to allocate sufficient time for studying, engaging in extracurricular activities, and enjoying personal downtime—all essential for a well-rounded academic experience.
3. Seek Help When Needed – Utilize professors' office hours, join study groups, or seek academic support services. Academic life is often associated with long hours of studying, tight deadlines, and the constant pressure to perform well. While pursuing education is a rewarding journey, it can also be physically and mentally demanding. Many students push themselves to the limit, often neglecting their health in the process. However, one of the most important lessons in academic life is knowing when to ask for help—especially when it comes to health.
4. Stay Healthy – Sleep, nutrition, and exercise play a significant role in concentration and overall well-being. Good health plays a crucial role in a student’s ability to focus, retain information, and perform well in their studies. When students neglect their health, whether by skipping meals, sacrificing sleep, or ignoring stress, their academic performance can suffer. Fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and weakened immunity are just some of the consequences of poor health habits. On the other hand, a healthy lifestyle enhances brain function, boosts energy levels, and improves mood, making learning more effective and enjoyable.
5. Embrace Challenges – Academic setbacks are part of the journey. Learn from mistakes and keep pushing forward. Every academic challenge encountered is also a lesson in perseverance. Learning to navigate through these challenges not only prepares you for professional success but also equips you with life skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
Conclusion
Academic life is not just about achieving grades or obtaining degrees—it’s a vibrant chapter in the larger story of who we are. It’s about cultivating curiosity, overc

I need to yap again, and it's about Poseidon (終末のワルキューレ).
If Amphitrite has no canon presence in Record of Ragnarok besides as one of his attack names, I think a good match for Poseidon is a S/O who has some self-sacrificing qualities. Or someone who is genuinely thoughtful and caring, maybe on the submissive side *winkwink*, but that's not the point. Let's be real. He's not openly loving or kind to anyone. Someone more openly caring feels necessary for this relationship. But more importantly, they'd have to earn his respect, especially if S/O wants to deepen their bond with Poseidon. Strength, power, and combat prowess would also be necessary, BUT unless you're Sasaki Kojiro, how do you possibly beat the "God of Gods," let alone impress him?¿
I say this because of how Poseidon seems to view Hades in a different light than he does everyone else. In that, Hades is the only person that Poseidon openly respects. The other gods are nothing but a bunch of worthless "chumps" in his eyes.
Three points that I wanted to point out:
Poseidon's whistle
Even though the anime/manga does show Poseidon as an infant, toddler, and adolescent, neither the anime or manga explicitly state when he picked up the habit of whistling before killing his enemies. I surmise he developed it after the Gigantomachy when Hades went to Helheim alone to defeat the Titans and he saw Hades sitting upon the corpses of Gaia's Titan army by himself. Kind of like how a child or your younger siblings "try to be like you" by copying you or taking your things.
Tumblr media
Poseidon's beliefs of what a god should be like
"Peers... ? Gods don't team up. Gods don't scheme. Gods don't rely on anyone else. That is how a God should be. We're perfect from the word go. We don't need peers..."
Tumblr media
Yes, but actually no, Poseidon. Hades decided to go to Helheim by himself because he wanted to protect his younger siblings. It was both an act of war, the Olympians vs. the Titans/Giants, but also of love and duty as the eldest brother. This was also the only time Poseidon had been shown with a genuine smile and called one of his siblings, "Brother." (When he called Adamas "brother," it was to do so as an insult, "Such a shame to have you as my older brother.") Poseidon understood the inherent strength it took for Hades, a god, to succeed in his self-appointed task, but not necessarily the "why" or emotional aspect of it.
Leaving Adamas alive
If Poseidon is genuinely cold and heartless, Adamas would be dead. Periodt. No questions asked. But his reasoning for letting Adamas live was, "Hades would be sad." Poseidon didn't even leave Adamas alive because they were brothers, or that he cared for Adamas; he had to bring in Hades' feelings into the equation, which he obviously didn't need to.
But all of this essentially culminates into, "Hades put Poseidon (as well as Zeus and Adamas) before himself and his own safety." It kind of ties into my yapping about Poseidon being the "ignored middle sibling." In which I reiterate, "Has anyone thought to put you first?" After all, why should anyone worry or think of Poseidon when he's so independent, so self-sufficient, and even rules the seas with an iron fist./s "He's FINE. Nobody needs to check up on him."
I think Poseidon would appreciate a S/O who wants to have Poseidon around all of the time and someone who is attentive to him, but doesn't necessarily need him to be around all of the time because he still values self-sufficiency.
Look at that face when Sasaki said, "That sounds awfully lonely." You cannot convince me that Poseidon doesn't actually want to feel wanted (loved) and needed.
Tumblr media
Blame me for being an artist, BUT... If Poseidon didn't want companioship, the facial needs to be different. Currently, Poseidon's eyebrows are raised, mouth slightly ajar, and eyes a LITTLE too wide to non-verbally say he doesn't care. It's like Sasaki hit a nerve; gave Poseidon an epiphany of, "Did this human(/derogatory) just state exactly how I deeply feel?" It needs to be more 😑, less 😯.
Obviously, this partner would not be limited to being self-sacrificing, caring, thoughtful, yet self-sufficient, but those are qualities that would be included in their package.
YES. You need to be a submissive. Ain't no way this man would be a bottom.
(As a side note, I'm drawing up character designs for an Amphitrite OC, separate from my persona.)

"The state defends the private property of every citizen, regardless of that person’s importance. This defense consists primarily in the fact that the citizens are obligated to recognize one another as private owners: the appropriation of property is only allowed by mutual agreement; as a rule, one only acquires property by endowment, inheritance, exchange, or purchase.
The state does in fact conduct itself as a neutral instance with regard to its citizens; this neutrality is in no way merely an illusion. Rather, it is precisely by means of this neutrality that the state secures the foundations of capitalist relations of domination and exploitation. The defense of property implies that those who possess no relevant property beyond their own labor-power must sell their labor-power. To be able to appropriate their means of subsistence, they must submit to capital. This makes the capitalist process of production possible and reproduces in turn the class relations that are its precondition. The individual laborer emerges from the process of production exactly as he entered it. The laborer’s wage is essentially sufficient for his (or his family’s) reproduction. In order to reproduce himself anew, he must sell his labor-power again. The capitalist also emerges from the production process again as a capitalist: his advanced capital returns to him together with a profit, so that the can even advance it again in a greater quantity. Thus the capitalist production process does not just produce commodities; it also reproduces the capital relation itself (see Capital, 1: chapter 23).
However, the fact that the reproduction of the capital relation to a large extent occurs—at least in the developed capitalist countries—with out direct state coercion (the force of the state is always present indirectly as a threat) is a recent historical development. When the 'primitive accumulation' and the 'worker free in a double sense' still needed to be 'produced,' things were different. As Marx shows in detail using the example of England, the state had to continuously and directly intervene to encourage and enable capitalist production. Initially the state did this by supporting landlords expelling peasants from the land that the latter had cultivated for a long time (sheep raising was more profitable for the landlords), and then by forcing uprooted and vagabond people into the strict discipline of capitalist workplaces. This is not to say that various governments followed a general plan to introduce capitalism, since such measures had completely different causes. However, modern capitalism was only able to establish itself as a result of these violent measures. It took a while for a working class to develop 'which by education, tradition and habit looks upon the requirements of that mode of production as self-evident natural laws.' Only then is the 'silent compulsion of economic relations' sufficient for the 'domination of the capitalist over the worker'—so that coercive state force is only necessary in exceptional cases (Capital, 1:899). Under developed capitalist relations, the maintenance of the class relation is assured precisely because the state, as the rule of law treats its citizens as free and equal owners of property regardless of their social class, defending their property and their dealings as property owners."
