The First Principle
When one goes to Obaku temple in Kyoto he sees carved over the gate the words “The First Principle.” The letters are unusually large, and those who appreciate calligraphy always admire them as being a masterpiece. They were drawn by Kosen two hundred years ago.
When the master drew them he did so on paper, from which workmen made the larger carving in wood. As Kosen sketched the letters a bold pupil was with him who had made several gallons of ink for the calligraphy and who never failed to criticize his master’s work.
“That is not good,” he told Kosen after the first effort.
“How is that one?”
“Poor. Worse than before,” pronounced the pupil.
Kosen patiently wrote one sheet after another until eighty-four First Principles had been accumulated, still without the approval of the pupil.
Then, when the young man stepped outside for a few moments, Kosen thought: “Now is my chance to escape his keen eye,” and he wrote hurridly, with a mind free from disctraction. “The First Principle.”
“A masterpiece,” pronounced the pupil.

The Imperative of Coherence: Living in Alignment with One’s Values, Ideals, and Purpose
I have seen it, and lived it on my very skin, too often: this capitalistic and consumeristic world often demands compromise, so the individual, personal pursuit of unwavering coherence with one’s values, ideals, and purpose can be both a path of fulfillment and a trial of endurance. The concept 法相天地fa xiang tian di in chinese cultivation culture(xianxia culture)
This clip is from the animated movie "Yang Jian" (also known as "New Gods: Yang Jian"). The character is Erlang Shen (Yang Jian杨戬), a popular celestial deity in Chinese mythology, right up there with Nezha and the Monkey King(sun wukong) in terms of fame.
"Fǎxiàng Tiāndì" (法相天地) is a profound concept rooted in Chinese Daoist and Buddhist philosophy, often translated as "The Dharma-Phenomena of Heaven and Earth" or "The Manifested Reality of the Cosmos." It describes the idea that all phenomena in existence, physical forms, emotions, thoughts, and even time itself, are transient manifestations of an ultimate, formless truth (often called the Dao in Daoism or Śūnyatā [Emptiness] in Buddhism).
Interconnected Illusion: Everything we perceive (mountains, stars, human identities) is like a temporary "wave" rising from an ocean of primordial unity. These "waves" (xiàng 相, "phenomena") follow cosmic laws (fǎ 法, "dharma/principles") but have no independent, permanent essence.
Mirror of the Absolute: The "Heaven and Earth" (Tiāndì 天地) symbolize the entire cosmos. Together, Fǎxiàng Tiāndì implies that the material universe is both a reflection and an inseparable part of the sacred. A pebble or a thought is as much "the Dao" as a galaxy.
Liberation Through Insight: By contemplating this truth—that all forms arise and fade while the underlying unity remains—one transcends attachment to illusions, achieving harmony with the cosmos. This is central to Daoist alchemy and Zen meditation.
Analogy: Imagine a hologram. Each fragment contains the whole image, yet the image itself is light-projections with no substance. Similarly, Fǎxiàng Tiāndì teaches that every fleeting phenomenon (xiàng) is a "holographic shard" of the eternal Dao.
This concept is not about worshiping nature, but about realizing the sacredness and emptiness within all experiences. It bridges metaphysics and daily life, a cup of tea or a stormy sky equally reveal the dance of Fǎxiàng Tiāndì. In big battles, Fǎxiàng Tiāndì is usually the ultimate move, the kind that drains your mana bar like crazy. You don’t pull it out unless it’s a life-or-death moment. Of course, "Fǎxiàng Tiāndì" isn’t something just anyone can pull off. Only some high ranking immortals or high-level cultivators who are practically godlike can pull it off.
If you’re into creating stuff in this genre, understanding this concept could give you a ton of inspiration. It’s a pretty big deal in xianxia culture and pops up a lot, but usually without any explanation. Since someone asked, I figured I’d break it down a bit.

"le plaisir délicieux... d'une occupation inutile"
is the opening quote of dragons dogma II, and its greatest theme is the question of what you will do to a role thrust upon you.. In a sense; if you can even walk away from Dharma, what are the lengths you would go to?
Basically, the dragon represents = struggle, and the arisen is it's chosen hero to wrestle with. The dragon steals the arisen's heart but the arisen doesn't die. Instead it makes them immortal, with the sole mission of standing up to the dragon to restore their heart. This struggle is sort of like the engine that keeps their world going, yin and yang in the most philosophical way. If there is evil, good will rise to stand against it. Pawns are your eternal servants, they're beings pulled from a metaphysical realm, and they only answer to the arisen. But they are basically beings who do not have their own sense of self, no will, no anything. But as the game continues, and they travel with you, they gain a soul through your actions, and they tell the arisen: you do not stand alone. I had my friend's pawn travelling with me when we killed the dragon together. You can have a number of endings in dragons dogma I.
1. You can walk away from the dragon. He kills your beloved for your cowardice, and you are driven insane despite being granted immeasurable power. That the responsibility you walked away from, will still come for you, it will still reckon with you.
2. You can slay the dragon, save the princess, and be unsatisfied in your complacency, in only doing what you're told without doing anything more.
3. it is canon that when you do not have the strength to defeat the true final boss, you become the dragon to look for your own replacement. And
4. You defeat the dragon, and you continue to seek the deeper meaning of the world, and confront the root of everything, who the hell sent the dragon? You find out its this being called the Seneschal, the steward of the world, who has grown weary, and wanted someone to herald the world in their place, someone worthy, brave, principled. In game, the seneschal has no official design. They were a previous arisen who defeated their own dragon, and then face who sent the dragon; The Seneschal- Who manifests in dragons dogma as other, previous players who have already beaten the game: You fight the spirit of another, real player who has already overcome the game. In the game, when you defeat the seneschal and take their place. You get to become a small spirit, and wander around the world, looking at all the friends you made, your beloved, and you can't say goodbye to them, they can't see you, they're just wondering where you are before you take your place as the new steward of the world- or you can literally end your life with a magic sword called the "godsbane" before you can ever become the seneschal, in complete defiance of what the game was building up to, the "dragon's dogma", in a sense.
Cycles are something inherently neutral, a law of the universe where it does not seek a final ending, no rapture. Dragons Dogma 2 is built on the same narrative. But when you open the game.. it just says "dragons dogma." And people were wondering, huh. Where's the "2"?
Dragons Dogma 1, has this, totally overwhelming sense of grief. but it also has this, very deep attention to detail. For example, when you fall into the water, your lantern dies. a character with shorter legs; walk slower, can't climb monsters fast, can't run fast. A fat character can carry lots of stuff, and can't be knocked down easily. A skinny character can squeeze in small spaces, can get stunned easily. You can throw oil bottles at something, and then throw a ball of fire at it and it will explode. The thing is, despite being so detail oriented, all the freedom to go and do wherever you go, wherever you please, you are still followed, still restrained by the shadow of a dragon. Every kingdom you go to is bruised by the dragon, evil things crawl out of the depths of the world as a symptom, the coming of a dragon essentially means the end of the world, Unless the arisen comes to stop it. So every character you talk to, every problem you come to solve, from a squabble to a skirmish tells you, please, kill the dragon.
Dragons Dogma 2's secret and "true" ending, is that you have to kill yourself while climbing into a hollow in the dragon's chest, literally climbing into the heart of the struggle.
The. Amount of pain, and loss it took to even just get to the dragon is, overwhelming. When I stabbed the dragon, a ghost from earlier, one who haunted your every step as arisen, the one who sees all,..not a god, more like an enforcer of the laws of the world will appear- they come to you, angry. They thrust you into the sea, trying to bury you. What are you doing?? Because, you strayed from the written rules.. you strayed from the "dragon's dogma".
Illusions of your old friends will appear, and they ask you to come back, finish the story, be the arisen, the dragonslayer. And you refuse. And you are thrust into this, viscera, this world of utter ruin, absolute decay, a merciless world that is completely furious at you for abandoning it. And then. The title drops. Dragon's Dogma 2. Dragons. fucking. Dogma.2. 150 hours in. There's so many aspects and philosophies of the game that become so inherent when you enter this last phase, but.. the title drops there, because you essentially forced the story to tell you another one, carve out a new ending for you and your pawn in the wood of its old foundation.
the game is angry at you, it consumes itself in front of you; you can even sense it gnawing at itself. The more you sleep in the game to heal, the more the map shrinks. But you and your pawn face the heart of the game, one more time, fight the dragon at its core.. and die with your companion fighting. That's how the game truly ends, the world fading into something unknown, something else, different,.. new

The Swastika Symbol 卍 The Buddhist swastika is called "manji" (卍) in Japanese, and it is known as "wan" (卍, 万)" in Chinese. In Sanskrit, it is referred to as "svastika" (स्वस्तिक), which means "conducive to well-being," derived from "su-" (good, auspicious) and "asti" (to be, to exist).
Meaning & Symbolism in Buddhism
In Buddhist tradition, the manji (swastika) is a sacred and auspicious symbol representing harmony, eternity, and the interconnectedness of all things. Its arms, usually turning to the left (counterclockwise, 卍) in East Asian Buddhism or to the right (clockwise, 卐) in Indian traditions, symbolize the revolving forces of Dharma and the eternal cycle of life, death, and rebirth (Samsara).
Deeper Symbolism
Cosmic Harmony – It represents the balance of opposites (like yin and yang in Taoism), reflecting the unity of all phenomena. Buddha’s Heart and Footprint – In many Buddhist iconographies, the swastika is found on the chest or palms of statues of the Buddha, signifying his infinite wisdom and compassion. The Wheel of Dharma (Dharmachakra) – The swastika is a geometric simplification of the eight-spoked Dharma Wheel, showing the ever-moving cosmic order of the universe. Four Cardinal Directions – It extends to the fourfold nature of existence (North, South, East, West), linking it to space and the infinite expanse of reality.
Esoteric Buddhist Perspectives
In Vajrayāna Buddhism, the swastika often appears in mandalas and yantras as a gateway to higher consciousness. It is also associated with certain Bodhisattvas, particularly Maitreya, the future Buddha.
In Japanese Esoteric Buddhism (Shingon), the manji is a symbol of the primordial truth and the cosmic reality of Mahāvairocana Buddha (Dainichi Nyorai)—the central deity in many tantric practices.
Connection to Other Traditions
In Jainism, it represents the four states of existence: gods, humans, animals, and hell-beings. In Hinduism, it is a solar symbol linked to Surya (the Sun), Vishnu, and Ganesha. In Western Esotericism, the swastika has been used as a solar, alchemical, and Hermetic emblem, predating its later misappropriations.
The Buddhist Swastika (Manji) in Western Hermeticism and Qabalah
The manji (卍 / 卐) in Buddhist symbolism aligns deeply with principles found in Western Hermetic Qabalah, Alchemy, and Tarot, especially when understood as a rotating force of cosmic balance, evolution, and divine will.
1. The Swastika as the Rotating Cross of the Elements (Tetragrammaton & Tiphareth)
In the Western Hermetic tradition, the cross (☩) is a foundational symbol, representing the four elements, the four directions, and the divine tetragrammaton (יהוה - Yod-Heh-Vav-Heh). The swastika, being a rotating cross, adds the idea of motion, transformation, and the eternal turning of the cosmos.
Tiphareth (תפארת), the Solar Sephirah in Qabalah, aligns perfectly with the swastika’s solar connotations, particularly in Hindu and Buddhist traditions. The Golden Dawn viewed the swastika as a rotating force that could symbolize either constructive (deasil, clockwise) or destructive (widdershins, counterclockwise) currents, akin to the alchemical cycles of dissolution and coagulation.
This movement mirrors the Hermetic axiom: "As above, so below"—the continual unfolding and refolding of divine patterns in the physical world.
2. Tarot and the Breath of the Swastika (Manji)
If we think of Tarot as a breath cycle, the swastika represents the continuous inhale and exhale of divine energy through the suits and elements.
The Four Arms of the Swastika = The Four Suits of the Minor Arcana Wands (Fire) – Creative motion, the Will in action Cups (Water) – Emotional currents, the inner spiral of the soul Swords (Air) – Thought’s dynamic process, movement in mind Disks (Earth) – The physical realization of spiritual laws
Thus, the swastika aligns with The Wheel of Fortune (X) in the Major Arcana, which reflects the perpetual turning of karma, dharma, and cosmic cycles.
3. The Swastika and the Qabalistic Lightning Flash
In Hermetic Qabalah, the Lightning Flash of Creation, which descends from Kether to Malkuth (forming the path of divine emanation), has a rotational counterpart: the return ascent of consciousness—aligning with the swastika’s cyclical motion.
The descent (clockwise, 卐) aligns with the involution of divine force into matter The ascent (counterclockwise, 卍) represents spiritual return, enlightenment, and Nirvana
This matches the Buddhist idea that the swastika embodies the eternal path of awakening—a journey from illusion (Malkuth) back to divine unity (Kether).
4. Esoteric Alchemy: The Swastika as the Prima Materia
In Alchemy, the swastika symbolizes the dynamic transformation of the Prima Materia (first matter) into the Philosopher’s Stone.
The turning arms represent the alchemical process: Calcination (Fire), Dissolution (Water), Separation (Air), and Conjunction (Earth). In this sense, the manji is a glyph of transmutation—the constant reworking of base consciousness into divine gold.
This echoes Vajrayāna Buddhist teachings, which treat the mundane world as raw material for enlightenment, just as an alchemist transmutes lead into gold.
5. The Swastika as the Key to Magickal Motion (Chokmah’s Whirlwind)
Chokmah (חכמה) in Qabalah is associated with the whirlwind of divine motion—it is not static wisdom but active, living force, the archetypal "Will to Evolve."
In this sense, the swastika is a glyph of Chokmah’s energy descending into creation (Yod, the first spark) The rotation signifies the primal whirlwind, the storm of existence, which eventually crystallizes into form (Binah, structure).
Thus, the manji is a cosmic yantra of divine will in perpetual movement—never fixed, always flowing. Final Synthesis: Manji as the Breath of the Divine
The Buddhist swastika is a universal expression of the Hermetic Great Work:
1.It shows the interplay of creation and dissolution, much like the Tree of Life and the Lightning Flash. 2.It is a breath—inhale (form), exhale (transformation)—mirroring the cycle of Tarot and Qabalah. 3.It represents the eternal journey of the soul, the Wheel of Fortune turning through Samsara toward ultimate enlightenment. -Tarot of Eli

Vedic Astrology Observations
1. Punarvasus tend to be very spiritual if not religious. They find peace in prayer. Another thing I've noticed is that they are very sexually conservative (probably because of their cat yoni). Mariah Carey, Punarvasu Moon was a virgin when she married her first husband and waited until marriage to be intimate with her second husband as well. She was engaged to James Packer for 18 months and they reportedly never had a physical relationship.
Miranda Kerr, Punarvasu Moon was in a relationship with Evan Spiegel for 3 years and waited until marriage. Drew Barrymore, Punarvasu Moon has said that she's been celibate since her divorce in 2016.
2. Mariah Carey, Punarvasu Moon speaking of the nature of light & time , her memoir has multiple chapters titled with light-related names and even sooo many of her songs , including Butterfly (Punarvasus are connected to butterflies)
3. Moksha gana nakshatras embody the trickster archetype. They also often argue or provoke people simply for the heck of it. 2/3 Moon ruled naks (Rohini & Hasta) are Moksha gana and it makes sense as to why they fuck with people just because they can, they have nothing to gain from it and it serves no purpose, they're evil for the heck of it. They'll go to any length to ruin you even if they ruin themselves in the process.
Moksha means liberation in Sanskrit (Sanskrit is a classical language like Latin that is pretty much only used in a scholarly context) and is one of 4 purusharthas or motivations assigned to the 27 naks. The others are artha (wealth) kama (pleasure) and dharma (duty). Moksha would be located at the very top of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, which means an individual with Moksha gana naks has transcended all the other base level motivations of accumulating wealth, seeking pleasure and doing one's duty. What is left to do now? If an individual is evolved, they actually seek liberation through their spirituality but if they are not, not only are they unbothered by any ordinary human motives, they lack the ability to devote themselves to anything ordinary because they simply dont care about getting a job or building a house or whatever. this means they also kind of exist beyond normal social norms?? go up against a Moksha gana native/Moon dominant person and the kind of arguments they'll use against you will reveal this nature of theirs. like they will have zero issue using your every vulnerability and insecurity against you just to win an argument or put you down. they hate to look "weak" so they will tear you apart just because they can, with no regard for any history you share. there are people who defend this by saying "oh well i was mad" babygirl everybody gets mad, but if someone isnt raising their voice, being petty or singling you out and bringing up your past to make you crumble, its not because they're incapable of it, its because they have principles.
Moksha gana naks love to play devil's advocate.
4. Rahuvians have bad memory, they probably repeat the same stories in different ways every few weeks lol
5. Saturnian women often marry billionaires according to Claire Nakti and I recently found some more examples of that:
** Mariah Carey, UBP Sun was engaged to Australian billionaire, James Packer who used to date Miranda Kerr, Pushya Rising (both these women are also Punarvasu Moon), Miranda is now married to the CEO of Snapchat.
** Lisa Manobal, UBP Sun is dating Frederic Arnault, a French billionaire
** Elle Macpherson, UBP Sun was in a relationship with Arpad Busson with whom she had 2 kids (he's not a billionaire but he does have a net worth of $500 million)
6. Nominative determinism, literally "name-driven outcome", is the hypothesis that people tend to gravitate towards areas of work that reflect their names.
but i thought i'd use it in the context of astrology and how most people are subconsciously given names that reflect their nakshatras
ex: Angelina Jolie
the name Angelina is an expansion of Angela which is derived from the Greek word Angelos which means "Angel" or "messenger". Angelina has Revati Moon which is a deva ("godly" nakshatra) and Jolie is the French word for "pretty" and Angelina has Venus in 1h and is Pushya Rising (these were two of the biggest beauty indicators according to Claire's research)
(its so cute to me that her name is literally Angel Pretty bc damn right she is)
Yara Shahidi (Revati Moon)- Yara is the name of a water spirit and in Portuguese it means "Water lady" (Yara has stated that her name means one who is close to your heart, but names can have several different meanings) and Shahidi means "witness" in Persian. I feel like all of that really ties together with Revati being in pisces rashi and the last nakshatra that is "witness" to everything else etc

Calm and collected even when everything’s falling apart
Mature beyond their years, especially in emotional situations
Deeply principled, but rarely preachy
The kind of person who becomes more magnetic the longer you know them

Pressure to “hold it all together” (internally and externally)
Karmic connection to legacy, truth, and responsibility
A quiet intensity like they feel deeply but rarely react emotionally
Their Power:

Tragedies of Each Ascendant
(Note that these insights are general observations based on astrological principles and should be verified with specific chart placements, including house rulers. These interpretations are derived from personal experience and the insights of various scholars, and they are not meant to be taken as fixed rules.)
Aries Ascendant:
Aries ascendants often face the risk of physical injury or accidents due to their impulsive and energetic nature. Mars, the ruling planet of Aries, governs both the first and eighth houses, which makes them prone to sudden transformations and crises. If Mars is poorly placed or afflicted in the chart, these transformations can lead to challenges or setbacks, both physically and emotionally.
Taurus Ascendant:
Taurus ascendants may experience health challenges, particularly due to their indulgence in luxury and comfort. Venus, their ascendant lord, also rules the sixth house of health and disease, suggesting that their love for a lavish lifestyle could lead to neglect of their physical well-being. This might manifest in weight-related issues or chronic health conditions if not carefully managed.
Gemini Ascendant:
Gemini ascendants often deal with a strict or disciplinarian father figure, owing to Saturn’s influence over both the eighth and ninth houses. Although the ninth house generally represents fortune and dharma, Saturn's malefic nature can create a heavy atmosphere, resulting in a father who imposes strict rules and high expectations. This can feel burdensome, especially for the naturally playful and independent Gemini.
Cancer Ascendant:
Cancer ascendants are often marked by challenges in their marital life. With Saturn ruling the seventh house of partnership, there can be significant obstacles in relationships, sometimes leading to delays, disappointments, or even separation. This can extend to love marriages as well, where interference from in-laws or other family members complicates the relationship. Emotional pain related to marriage is a recurring theme.
Leo Ascendant:
Like Cancer ascendants, Leo ascendants also face difficulties in marriage. However, for them, the conflicts often stem from a quarrelsome or emotionally distant partner, leading to occasional sorrow in relationships. With Saturn ruling the sixth house of conflict, they may find themselves caught in power struggles or discord within their marriage, which could create lasting emotional challenges.
Virgo Ascendant:
Virgo ascendants often experience tension with their children. This can manifest as periods of significant conflict, where they may feel the need to oppose their own children, despite their nurturing instincts. Saturn's rulership of both the fifth and sixth houses contributes to these struggles. Communication and understanding are key to resolving these tensions, but at some point, conflicts are likely.
Libra Ascendant:
Libra ascendants may encounter trouble with spiritual figures or mentors. Jupiter, ruling their sixth house of obstacles and enemies, can indicate conflicts or challenges arising from those they look up to—be it spiritual teachers, gurus, or religious figures. Libra risings may find themselves in difficult situations during Jupiter’s sub-periods or periods, leading to opposition with saints.
Scorpio Ascendant:
Scorpio ascendants are often prone to accidents or injuries, particularly due to their high levels of activity and impulsive tendencies. Mars, the ruler of their ascendant, is associated with action, competition, and assertiveness, which can sometimes lead to overexertion or physical harm. Their competitive nature, whether in sports or other activities, can result in frequent accidents or even conflicts with others.
Sagittarius Ascendant:
Sagittarius ascendants often face challenges with their social circle or friendships. They may find themselves repeatedly experiencing disappointment or conflict with friends, largely due to Venus' rulership of the sixth and eleventh houses. Their idealistic and independent nature clashes with group dynamics, leading to feelings of dissatisfaction. These challenges may be heightened during Venus’ sub-periods.
Capricorn Ascendant:
Capricorn ascendants tend to have a complicated relationship with their father figure. Mercury's influence over both the sixth and ninth houses suggests a relationship filled with both tension and learning experiences. The father might be a source of both wisdom and challenge, and this dynamic can create a bittersweet or strained connection, especially in times of disagreement or miscommunication.
Aquarius Ascendant:
Aquarius ascendants often struggle with dissatisfaction or tension involving their children. Despite their strong intellect and idealism, they may feel their children fall short of their expectations, causing frustration. Mercury’s rulership of the fifth and eighth houses creates a scenario where the parent-child relationship can be fraught with misunderstanding, and there may be periods of emotional distance or discontent.
Pisces Ascendant:
Pisces ascendants are particularly susceptible to addiction. With Saturn ruling their twelfth house of loss, isolation, and subconscious patterns, they are prone to indulging in unhealthy habits such as alcohol, drugs, or other forms of escapism. Their dreamy and idealistic nature, combined with Saturn’s restrictive influence, can lead them to seek refuge in substances or behaviors that offer temporary relief but cause long-term harm.
