I just saw a video where vets were treating turtle's shell crack. And they did it almost the way Donnie healed Leo's crack (by sticking things on the shell and connecting them with metal wire)

Idk what I expected and now that I think of it, it makes sense. I mean, how else would you treat such wound?

So I wanted to ask: did you do some research while drawing that chapter? Maybe you searched how shell cracks heal or just guessed it?

Oh yeah. I did a little bit of research:)

I've seen that in fanfic authors most often decide to use a construction stapler or some sort of resin.

But in my story, it's the apocalypse. And those materials sound like something that's hard to find in an apocalypse. So I started looking at what's used to fix shells in real life and found this video:

Prompt 27 - Effective

Sirius had half woken up when Remus left him to go to work but quickly fell back to sleep again. He woke up later that morning with a banging headache. He hadn’t drunk since he’d met Remus, but last night he’d joined James in a glass or two of red wine. Maybe it was more than two. He couldn’t remember. Either way, he was in agony now. 

He rolled over and spotted the glass of water and the painkillers Remus had left him and silently thanked his lanky, thoughtful boyfriend. He’d just swallowed the pills and half the water when the bedroom door opened, revealing a haunted-looking Barty. His hair was everywhere, and his skin was tinged a sickly green colour. 

“Move over,” Barty groaned, flopping down on the bed and wiggling under the covers. Sirius was too hungover to complain and let Barty do whatever it was he was doing. 

Barty curled up against him and fell asleep, snoring like a freight train that apparently kicked a lot. 

Around midday, Sirius was woken again by Lily, this time. She grabbed the duvet off them and rolled them out of the bed as they protested against her treatment of them. It may have been a bit cruel, but Sirius would admit it was effective. 

“I don’t even want to know what Barty was doing in your bed. After I know for a fact, you spent the night with Remus,” Lily scolded him. 

“He just came in,” Sirius tried to explain, but Lily shook her head. 

“Yeah, yeah, eat your fry-up, and then you can help James do the gardening he promised to do.” Sirius glared daggers at James, who, like Barty, was slumped over the kitchen table, praying that the fumes from his coffee would wake him up. 

The breakfast did actually make him feel a lot better and the warm sun beating down on them made Sirius feel all sleepy, but he’d promised to help, so that’s what he would do. 

He got stuck in and planted about fifty seedlings into new pots, mowed a third of the grass and made sure the hammock was in full working order until Lily had chased him out of it. Soon, the garden was looking well-cared for again, and James had the great idea of going for a walk in the wood behind his house to clear away the remnants of their hangovers. What could possibly go wrong?
