I've been reading some of the Star Wars novels that I hadn't gotten around to and I just finished Leia, Princess of Alderaan and I cannot emphasize enough how funny the scene is where Breha fake accuses Bail of having an affair with Mon Mothma in order to get Tarkin off their asses. 10/10 one of my new favourite moments in the star wars canon.

Hi there! I know you just answered to someone mentioning about reporting post of your work without credit on Pinterest. The thing is, if I try to report them because of owner rights (?) (idk the name in english 😞 but basically copyright) It's like a more formal report that I can't answer c I'm not the owner of that art. Should I just report them for any other reason? I hope I have explained myself 😓. Btw love your art!! 🫶🏻
You don't have to force yourself to report them if you don't feel comfortable doing it or it takes too much time, the main thing i don't like with reposts is that there's usually no way to track back to the original artist (aside from the moral question of earning popularity from someone else's work)
So if possible, leaving a link to this blog or crediting my username in the comments with situations like this would be very much appreciated!

Also as a more serious post I keep seeing claims that Gquuuuuux is telling a story about Gundam or is doing “uc slop” or sudden rebuild bullshit in the last five eps but no it’s not. It’s telling a story about two possibly three teenagers proving that they have the right to decide their own destinies and not be bound by what the older generations have decided for them. It’s just that it’s achieving that by using the most iconic parts of Gundam to represent the older generations.
The UC “bullshit” is the culmination of the shows thesis about how the newer generations need to be left free to chart their own paths. Nyaan and Machu represent two ways in which younger people live with this. Nyaan aimlessly floats through life without convictions or passion for what she’s doing, her only wants restricted to her needs while she pines for what she truly wants but is unwilling to grab it until her hand is forced, and Machu is raging against the bonds holding her with no regards to what happens if she breaks free, she just knows she needs to be free becuase that’s worth whatever she’ll lose in the process. And then if I’m right about Shuji (and even if I’m not the earlier stuff with the red Gundam still fits) he’s the total loss of identity outside of the older generations wants and needs he no longer has his own id or ego he’s subsumed by the older generation and mirrors them (like those kids whose parents never made it in sports or whatever but they “totally could’ve” so the kids are forced to push themselves to the brink no matter what they actually want to enable their parents need to vicariously live through them.)
The fight against RX-78 isn’t just them fighting to prove their universe’s inherent right to exist but also the younger generations right to chart their own paths. This is why Challia and Kycilia’s treatment of Nyaan and Machu are so contrasting, Kycilia impose her own values and beliefs on Nyaan and Nyaan fights against them, she used the gun she was given to protect her self to protect someone else finally choosing what she wants rather than floating along. While Challia gave Machu the freedom to do what she felt was necessary and her gun was used to free herself and the Gquuuuuux to not only achieve what they wanted but to reach their full potential with the omega psycommu. It’s the same reason Challia doesn’t want to kill Xavier. he let Xavier go the way he wanted to and do what he felt was necessary and even though they’ve ended up on opposite sides he doesn’t want to take that freedom away from him in death. Whereas Kycilia was fully willing to kill Nyaan as soon as she didn’t align with her beliefs. And I think this is partly why Challia was chosen and written the way he is. He’s not an icon of Gundam like Char, Lalah, Kycilia, Amuro or even the titans. He’s of the og series but isn’t bound by it, it’s why he can straddle the line of being of the older generation but not trying to bind the newer generation to what they decide and be the only one willing to let them have the freedom they deserve.
The RX-78’s appearance is the manifestation and climax of this, the gquuuuuux timeline isn’t doing what it’s supposed to so it must be destroyed. This isn’t a show about Gundam, its not a meta story about Gundam needing to move past the UC timeline, it’s a show using the most iconic example of the old generation that Gundam will ever have to be the final boss in Nyaan and Machu’s journey to prove that they have a right to decide their own destinies. It’s why Beyond the Time works so well at the end of ep 11, it’s not only a callback but a call to arms for Nyaan and Machu to change their destiny and futures and share the happiness that’ll come from being finally, truly free.

Me when St. John first speaks: Unfortunately, my imagination has given him a really good voice. I may have to root for him over Rochester.
Me after St. John says more words: Never mind.

Honestly, one thing that’s interesting about how I’ve been interpreting Deltarune vs how the majority seems to interpret it, is that the active display of the clear difference between the player character and Kris themselves has actually reinforced my interpretation that in general, Undertale does not itself actually make that distinction between player character and player; nearly every time that there is a distinction made, from context it is addressing either Frisk or Chara, or distinguishing between Chara and Frisk as characters, not between you and Frisk or you and Chara. There is only one clear moment where the concept of an outside observer beyond Frisk or Chara comes up, in Alphys’s quiz where the game jokes about the idea of her having a crush on the player, and otherwise, the idea of a player separate to the protagonist is never actually brought up. Any time that it seems to be, context or outright statement of the characters themselves indicate they are speaking to Chara, usually, or Frisk, otherwise.
To me, the level at which Deltarune actively goes out of its way to distinguish between Kris and the player makes it clearer that Undertale is not attempting to make that distinction or criticism of the way players interact with their games, and is making an entirely different critique of fandom engagement. I find it interesting that other people for some reason see that as the reverse, that the distinction between Kris and the player supports the same view of Undertale, when to me it feels like that is a specific view of the story that I don’t know if I agree is actually supported by the text so much as supported mainly by the fandom’s interaction with it.

ok I've recently stumbled upon a christian and his audience playing ultrakill and brushing off its explicit themes as "lore junk food" and now I feel like I'm taking crazy pills so
ULTRAKILL, Violence, and Christianity
first addressing that this post is not about christian theology or individual belief in the christian faith as ULTRAKILL does not make an effort to accurately imitate it, this post also does not care about Hakita's authorial intent, it is about symbolism and what Christianity physically is in the world we live in
Tumblr media
So, first thing we need to establish: though Jesus does not exist, the tree of life is 100% meant to evoke the cross, in this reading as a symbol of Christianity rather than a Christian symbol.
I read "the world looks white" as an expression of moral purity in religion: 'if you follow the path laid before you there shall be naught but goodness, in the world you will have tribulation but your soul is pure, our souls are pure because we follow god'. But the paths lead in circles and those who tread beyond it are deserving of eternal punishment, "the world looks red", the violence is built into the purity, it is what lies beyond the veil: 'your body is one of god's creations, it does not belong to you, we must save you from yourself by any means necessary'. If blood, the fruit of the tree, is your soul, and your impure vessel of flesh is its prison, it must be liberated through the art of violence. In gameplay it is an act perpetuated by machines and husk alike for survival and it is glorified desecration of the pure white halls, in visuals it is the flesh of entrapped undesirable souls splayed out on the altar.
The death of God's will
God is gone for good after an impossibly long series of failures in making humanity follow its words, I have seen the argument that because it makes mistakes, this entity is nothing like the Christian God, however as in the previous section this reading requires that we understand symbols on a metaphorical rather than theological level: "God is dead", this quote was not said in praise of atheism, in fact quite the opposite: everyone can see that we do not live in a world that follows religious teachings anymore, although we inherit most of our morality and philosophy from an era where almost everyone was religious. I would argue mistakes made by god, and its subsequent departure, are just the very basic atheist point that no god of pure good would let the world become so horrible, it is no coincidence that the events of ULTRAKILL are kick started by the great war: The world is bleak, Hell as a punishment is monstrous, and no force of good will come to right these wrongs because god only exists to enforce strict rules that cannot be followed for it has designed humanity with free will. In ULTRAKILL, heaven is ruled over by an unjust republic that insists failure is not a result of circumstances but indeed the faltering of your faith, for the god that has abandoned you is omniscient and omnipotent, if you simply believed hard enough you would overcome the world. And they might be right about the archangel in particular: Gabriel's faith was indeed impure before he even lost to man's creation, even in carrying out the tyrannic rule of heaven over hell, he believed in the redemption of some husks, he was primed to question the culture of his community after being proven wrong, he is an angel that was able to exercise free will, and free will is a flaw. But justice and morality do not require oppressive control, in this version of hell there are good people and in its heaven there are extremists, your status is not dictated by goodness it is dictated by the arbitrary rules of the church, and disobedience will lead to literal outcasting. The ending of act 2 is a glorious cry of Humanism.
This is the part where I say the lust layer visual novel about nihilism also participates in this reading as nihilism comes from the assumption that the absence of god is the absence of meaning, and its rebuttal comes from the assumption that there is in fact life to be found outside of religion through community and self determination.
And I'm kind of running out of points after this rant so yes I'm including the fact this game is gay as hell as a critique of queerphobic christian fundamentalism ok bye
