LMAO so, recently someone tried to SCAM me, so i'll show you what happened and the telltales of it being a scam.

This one is quite obvious but i know people who are just starting their artist careers and might not have experiece.

Follow the thread:

🚩#1: They pick your most famous/Popular art as reference. They don't know what you actually sell.

🚩#2: They will pick a random popular character. They're not roleplayers or anything. They're not here for the art in any level

You ask me, what are the odds they really like Goku? Oh, well, you'll see. At this point i check their profile for anythign that might indicate it, but as you'll see you won't have to.

🚩#3: They say they saw my ToS. On it i state i only work with paypal and google forms.

🚩#4: Random issue with payment method. They might have a real problem with it, but see; they'll never ever accept any other payment method, such as Zelle, CashApp, Payoneer, Ko-fi, etc.

I already knew this drill so, let's continue.

🚩#5: I love playing dumb lmao. Anyway, this scam revolves on them either sending you "too much money" and asking it back or something like it. I won't be following through because i know it'll be annoying.

BE ADAMANT WITH YOUR METHODS. Do NOT EVER bend them for randos.

🚩#6: They're so ready with the info on how the payment works it's fucking funny.

The reason I PERSONALLY use PayPal INVOICES (no any other payment within paypal) is that they're safe for both me and my client. My rules are stated clearly.

🚩#7: They're not even a good scammer lmao they REFUSE to go on my PROFILE to get a link or read anything.

I use Forms because it collects the client requests and it's easier for me to read it all in one place. It ALSO makes scammers bored.

🚩#8: They're so disinterested on the art they don't care for posing, vibes, colors, nothing. Again, they're NOT here for art. That's hilarious.

They want you to be impressed and showing "generosity" usually gets people who need monay into risky situations. That's just plain cruel.

Being an artist on an online space is dangerous. If you need help, poke an artist you know, see how they operate and if it fits you. Most of them would help you.

i had this interaction in the dropout discord (i am the first and third person). short. simple. i only got the first year bc of a discount + a gift card i had, so i was planning on using this person's suggestion.

then, i got this.

oh my god!! how nice!! how sweet!!! how thoughtful!! i gave them my email and they sent over a subscription, i thanked them profusely. i was very grateful, very touched.

hours and hours later i was still thinking about it and i recalled how, in the email id gotten about it, it said "tao yang sent you a subscription" and id seen that and thought "oh haha like the tao yang" and then moved on

but now, thinking back, i was like.... theres no way, so i googled tao yang.

Just please give your followers and those scrolling the tags a way to filter out the NSFT content. There are sex-repulsed beings, there are chrono adults who do not want to see chrono minors being sexual and vice versa, there are age regressors+ that do not want to see NSFT content when they are little. Something small I really liked in Thunderbolts is how when John starts calling Bob “Bobby,” it’s clear that Bob does not like it but he doesn’t make a big deal out of it or protest it too much - you see that once John starts doing it he just accepts that it’s going to happen and suppresses any feelings about it, and it’s not something that the movie focuses on very much at all. Then, at the end, the reveal comes that his abusive father called him Bobby, and again, the film does not linger on that very much and it’s not brought up again, but John noticeably stops calling him Bobby — he refers to him only as “Bob” for the rest of the movie.

And I just really appreciate how in the background that thread is allowed to be? A lot of films would have probably tried to beat the audience over the head with it, because subtlety and mainstream film haven’t been getting along very much these days and a lot of scripts feel that if they don’t directly state what they’re trying to say out loud to the camera, the viewers won’t get it. I can easily imagine a version where after that reveal a character goes “is that why you don’t like being called Bobby?” because the film is too insecure to let the moment speak for itself, and then that completely takes away the impact of the reveal because you lose John’s immediate silent understanding and choice to change on his own. I know it’s a really small thing, but still. It was refreshing to see filmmakers trust their story to speak for itself.
