Just watched season thirteen for the first time in a while, and the thing that's sticking out to me is how Church's final transmission acts as such a perfect foil to his disappearance at the end of season ten. Previously he'd left on his mission without saying goodbye (because if you don't say goodbye you're not really gone), and while that's kinda symbolically beautiful when you think about Tex and Allison, it was also a deeply fucked thing to do to his friends. All throughout season eleven the Blues were tearing themselves apart in his absence. Church and Tucker lost their best friend and Wash was suddenly expected to take his place as leader; it was terrible for everyone. When they found him in season twelve he was all up on his high horse about a greater purpose when that wasn't even the fucking problem! They were all willing to let Church go do his thing, but because he didn't tell them about it or let them into the discussion, he basically abandoned them with no idea of what happened to him. He wasn't really gone because they were all haunted by the place he should be.

In season thirteen though, Church learns from his mistakes. He's backed into a corner where he genuinely isn't able to include his friends in the discussion, but he still finds a way to leave them a message. It's not a goodbye, but it's something to give them a little closure, something that will let them finally move on without him.

Allison always hated goodbyes, and because she never gave her family that closure, the Director refused to accept that she could really be gone. He kept finding ways to undo that ending for her (because it had never felt like an ending to him), and even when Epsilon finally did let her go and accept that goodbye or no she is gone, he still passed that burden on to his friends. Suddenly he was the one gone without a trace, and even if the Blues weren't desperate enough to try and bring him back, they were still left with the awful mystery of what happened to him. Not anymore though. After all that time, he was able to be a little honest and admit to himself and his friends that sometimes people are gonna go away for good, and it's better to accept that then to fight yourself to death trying to prevent it.

It's really late but I love this show so fucking much and it just gets better the more I watch it.

ITS FINALLY FINISHED GODDDDDD !!!!!!!FINALLY TOOK THE TIME TO DRAW OUT MY BLUE TEAM FACECANONS ALL AT ONCE….. all in one sitting !! ^_^ 7 hours of work help me help me. Red team (including Doc ofc) + Carolina will come at some point…. I’ll prob make another separate sheet for the freelancers and another for the Chorus cast !! ANYWAY See below for some notes/explanations and shtuff :3

Alpha and Epsilon— No huge differences, I gave Epsilon curlier hair and facial hair closer to the Director’s because Alpha’s body is intended to be Private Jimmy which I have a whole different ramble prepared for that but I will spare everyone. Just wanted to set them apart in hair texture mostly ! Also Alpha looks significantly more repressed to me and that’s deliberate. Virgin Alpha vs Chad Epsilon. Anyways moving on

Tucker— OKAYYY OKAY my work for him here is my favorite :3 I’m biased incredibly but. Cough. Anyways. I like glasses Tucker I’m shameless about it. Honestly my three designs for him are all just amalgamations of my favorite things I see in fanon… also I did NOT forget to add his lenses in his second design that was deliberate because I think it’d be cool if all the alien biz fixed his eyes and he just popped the lenses out because he wasn’t ready to let go of them yet. 110% not projecting trust (lie) Also for the Chorus trilogy I did wanna make a point of him looking a lot more tired and fed up with shit becsuse!!! Damn !!! He is !!!! But yeah everythingb else is pretty standard in fanon … metrosexual good looks 😝!!!!

Caboose— Weirdly enough I had the most trouble w/ Caboose ? I wanted him to initially (as in during bgc) look pretty simple and standard and over time kinda grow into himself more I suppose …. I have yet to fully work on my red team hcs but its funny because my Donut and my Caboose share that in common big time. Chorus trilogy mini ponytail was a necessity I forever fuck with mullet Caboose honestly I just didn’t feel like expressing thag properly.

Washington— Wash … my everything….. wow…. He is not a white guy to me shrugs. During PFL I imagine he was never caught lacking roots wise His shit was prob so fucking fried 😭😭PUT THE BLEACH DOWN!!!!!!! Recovery One and allllll the Meta bullshite and stuffs obviously he stops giving a fuck about his appearance in general and keeps up just enough with cutting his hair for it to be convenient. Redemption Wash is pretty self explanatory he’s graying he’s tired he’s the happiest and the most miserable he’s ever been all at the same time he’s trying his best and its ok Also his scar is fading it’s not as noticeable as I wanted it to be but I didn’t feel like adjusting.

Kai— I literally just had fun with her😭😭 I was so close to abandoning this by the time I started working on her I just needed to have fun. I think she’d appreciate that sentiment . Decided to go with long hair AND short hair bc I love Kai both ways and didn’t wanna just pick one also I just think it’s silly that instead of growing it Out from a regulation cut she chops it all off lol.

Tex— gggguhhh Texas save meeee Texassss….. wanted her to look like Allison of course just sharper and rougher around the edges. I didn’t feel like including a second vers at this point when I could just share my vision here but I like the thought of her second incarnation coming back with black hair instead

Side note because my style doesn’t rlly allow for it LOL.. I could’ve made it work just didn’t feel like it— I imagine Alpha is also set aside from Epsilon in that his eyes are brown; not the Director’s green. Tex as well lacks Allison’s blue eyes and instead has completely black !

Also you may notice some overlap in coloring ignore thaaaatttt thanks 😇💜

Our favorite doomed duo is no stranger to angst and tragedy… so let’s give them a break! Let them enjoy some domestic bliss for once, and spend time in each other’s company without the overbearing burden of being doomed by the narrative. Just this once.

Day 3: Family

These two found their own little family inside of a box canyon, consisting of idiots and morons but they are their idiots and morons… or perhaps you want to go further back in time to when there was just Leonard and Allison and a beautiful baby girl and the future seemed so much brighter… or maybe Church and Tex just adopted a cat

Day 4: AU

Now they’re medieval knights fighting to save the kingdom! Or maybe Church is the super grumpy coffee shop barista with a crush on the cool tattoo artist across the street! Or maybe it’s the same story we all know… but that one moment played out differently… the universes are infinite!

Day 5: Cycle

History repeats itself, time is a flat circle, however, you want to put it there’s no denying the cycle of Leonard Church and Agent Texas. A story destined to be repeated again and again until it finally breaks… or perhaps they’re just teaching Caboose how to ride a bicycle, who knows!

Day 6: Goodbye

Don’t say goodbye… I hate goodbyes… but at the end of the day, you have to let go and say those dreaded words. You have to accept that some people are truly gone. Or sometimes you just don’t get to say those words at all… or maybe… well actually I don’t know how to make this one silly

Day 7: Free Day

Make whatever you like! It can be anything and everything, maybe expand on a previous idea, create a whole new world, or make something sad or silly or soft! This is your day to shine!
