The basis is that only a few in the multiverse have the ability to soul-fuse, and Cross is not one of them. But thanks to Dream, he can !

Ramble under cut —

Meddle stems from an old concept I’ve had, of an error and ink fusion. That didn’t change, but the idea around it did.

In total only four Sanses can soul-fuse and make other soul-fuse,

Ink, Error, Dream and Nightmare.

The reason as to why is not really figured out yet, but it is here !

Star-Cross and Meddle both have individual traits and semblance of personality, but are nothing more than vessel for the recipient.

Star is called “The Ambitious”, and Meddle “The Perfectionist” due to their greatest characteristic as a fusion. Each fusion has their own title.

As a last note, any fusion with current Nightmare are highly unstable and dangerous due to the corruption.

Tilly's been showing me Steven Universe (which is a really good show, by the way), and I got inspired to design fusions of UTMV characters. So here they are! *I'm back with a snack. Before I get to their headcanons, all three of them were created and unknowingly left behind on the field they were "born" on.

Now to the essay of headcanons!↓

-Paperjam is the first to be created. He was made before any semblance of peace was established between Ink and Error.

-He's able to create just like Ink, but because he's far younger, it's an unrefined ability, and often has small mistakes, such as tears in papers or holes in unmade parts of an object. They're also unable to make larger objects yet.

-They never got much of a childhood, being born onto the aftermath of a battlefield at an estimated 6 years of age and inadvertently being forced to learn how to exist safely and healthily all on their own. They ended up finding Gradient on a battlefield 9 years later and raising him as their own.

-Paperjam actually has a crush on someone, but you guys don't get to know that yet (⁠◠⁠‿⁠◕⁠)

-The ink blob acts as a bag of holding and he can store items in there , as long as it can fit into it.

-He calls his little brothers his "kids" for simplicity. He doesn't care about the weird looks he gets occasionally.

-Bro makes fake money to buy things while universe hopping bc he's too busy to ever make any legitimately. Nobody ever finds out.

-He HATES Ink and Error. It's a non-moving grudge that won't ever budge until somebody gets close enough to help him.

-He tried alcohol once and hated it, vowing to keep his "kids" from ever trying it because it was so gross.

-Gradient was made after the peace between ink and error was established, but was still a product of battle. Ink had ended up pissing Error off too much and it turned into a heated battle.

-He takes after error in the notion of crashing at extreme emotions. He less freezes in place and more experiences fainting, but more painful and unpleasant. He gets very overwhelmed and he just ragdolls.

-Pj ended up being very lenient towards Gray in developmental years, which ended up with him turning out socially stunted and awkward. He is too used to his comfort zone to ever check out new opportunities unless forced to, or actually interested in it.

-He listens to MCR and thinks it's the deepest band ever.

-While growing, he gains the short fuse of his older brother and the destructive tendencies of his Father, and ends up destroying aus for no regard of balance, and more experimenting on how timelines will freak out before disappearing. He's kind of unsettling.

-He draws a lot, usually on a digital medium. He focuses on landscapes and settings rather than people or characters.

-Their special interest is technology, and they know how to do practically anything thanks to the code manipulation.

-Code manipulation is his main ability rather than destruction, but he uses it in very creative ways. He can theoretically use it to be very overpowered, but he doesn't because he's a forgetful teenager who doesn't even leave his room. Let's never remind him he has free will🙏🙏

-Bluescreen was created between a fun sparring match turned angry battle for life between Swap and Error. The battlefield was abandoned quick after, and bluescreen formed at around ~4 years of age.

-It cannot be understood by anyone who doesn't know how to read binary. Gradient can understand, Pj can only get a word or two, and everyone else hears nothing but noise, leading to much frustration.

-Before Screen had control of his magic when he grew a little, he couldn't touch any living thing without corrupting it's code to the point of turning into but a silhouette of an actual bluescreen message and a piercing screech. (leading to much future anxiety)

-On the topic of anxiety, if he were to ever have an anxiety attack within a lone au, it would crumble. His code, as a born glitch, is far too unstable and when tested, it quickly corrupts all nearby code, which spreads indefinitely unless directly interfered with or reflected.

-He likes chicken Alfredo a lot :33

-He hides his deformed leg and arm due to being shy, but they're very limited in mobility. When being adopted by PJ, he gets braces.

-Screen had to raise himself and learned how to write and sign in MSL all by himself through unpredictable jumps through aus/timelines and watching others exist.

-He's friends with Hate, and sees him like a parental figure, (will give drawing and story later lol I'm lazay.)

mad max's hunting kit

synopsis. Not out here with pristine weapons and fancy gadgets. Her kit's a reflection of who she is: practical, hard-edged, and built to deal with anything Hell (or Heaven) throws at her.

1. The Crowbar Wrapped in Rosary Wire

Purpose: Max’s go-to weapon for close quarters. Looks unassuming—until you see the sharpened ends wrapped in iron-wrought rosary beads. The crowbar itself is like an old friend: battered, rusted in places, but deadly in the right hands. The rosary wire? Holy iron. It burns. And when she swings it, a demon’s head doesn’t stand a chance.

Backstory: A gift from Castiel, of all people, after an angelic ambush left Max with nothing but rubble and a blood-soaked shirt. She’s been swinging it ever since.

2. Holy Water Sprinkler System (Custom-Tuned)

Purpose: Designed by Max after a disastrous demon raid in Wichita, this contraption is a holy water minefield waiting to explode. Built into a modified fire extinguisher, it’s been rigged with an air-powered nozzle that can spray holy water across an entire room in seconds—perfect for clearing nests.

Backstory: Sam laughed at the idea when she first presented it, but Dean? Dean just said, "Hell yeah, let’s do this." Max doesn’t waste time explaining. She’s the weapon; this is just her backup.

3. Angel Blade (Modified)

Purpose: Standard issue for dealing with celestial threats. But Max’s isn’t just any angel blade. She’s made it her own—etched it with runes and Enochian symbols she pulled out of ancient texts. When she strikes, the blade doesn’t just kill angels. It rips through their grace.

Backstory: She picked it up in a fight against a rogue archangel, and after that, she couldn't let it go. There's something about the weight of it, the sting of power it gives her. Something she’ll never admit.

4. Fire-Blackened Journal (Self-Made)

Purpose: Her field journal, packed with pages of hastily scrawled sigils, notes on creatures, and half-burned drawings that are probably best left unread. It holds everything she’s learned—and everything she still doesn’t know. The binding’s charred, some pages are missing, others are stained with more than ink.

Backstory: It’s a record of everything Max has hunted, survived, and almost died from. If you get your hands on it, you’re not looking at a journal. You’re looking at a map of scars. She guards it like it’s her own skin.

5. Blood-Sigil Kit (Portable)

Purpose: A collection of vials filled with enchanted blood (angel, demon, human) and ink made from demon ash. These sigils are quick to make, lethal if drawn correctly. Max uses them to ward doors, trap spirits, or create instant barriers that even the strongest entities have trouble getting through.

Backstory: Sam’s always been uncomfortable with how easily Max draws blood for her work. But the thing is? It works. Every time.

6. Salt-Wood Cross (Custom Engraved)

Purpose: It’s a simple cross, but not one you’d find in a church. It’s carved from ancient wood that Max salvaged after a hunt in a forgotten cemetery. The cross is drenched in salt, blessed, and set to burn any demon or spirit that gets too close.

Backstory: A reminder of the sacrifices her family made. A reminder of the things she lost. It’s not just a weapon. It’s a piece of her soul.

7. Molotovs (Custom-Made)

Purpose: Max isn’t afraid to go old-school. When the situation calls for it, she throws firebombs, drenching the area in gasoline and holy oil before lighting the fuse. These little bombs are perfect for demons who can’t handle fire—or angels, for that matter.

Backstory: If you ask, she’ll tell you she learned it from Dean. In reality, she’s perfected them over years of trial and error, and no one else dares light the fuse except her.

Concept. Error-ified Ink. but like not a fusion or a ship child. just Ink.

Even more forgetful, to the point he forgets his own name sometimes. He can’t see due to buildup of ink constantly leaking from his eye sockets and hardening over the opening. His vials are also fused to his body, so he can’t control how much of each color he takes in at a time, as it constantly flows from the vials directly into his system. He gets overwhelmed a lot because of that.

He also can’t exactly speak, instead he kind of emanates voices that repeat single words to try and express how he’s feeling or what he wants. He can’t form full sentences, and he doesn't use super big words. He can also feel pain, but only if someone touches his glitches. Since he has no eyelights, his scarf is more expressive(?) than normal.

Sometimes he zones out randomly and comes to extremely confused and scared because he forgot where someone is and he starts freaking out and thinks they abandoned him. This also happens if he wakes up after sleeping without something to hug in his sleep like a pillow or someone’s hand. (in case you haven’t figured it out by now he’s not great with object permanence)

He can also still draw fine. He takes a couple minutes to figure out the paper and the position of the paint etc. and then draws from muscle memory. He also still has some idea that he should be protecting something, but he’s not entirely sure what, and he’s really bad at it anyway since he completely forgot how to use Broomie.

Childhood stuff lol

BASICALLY these are designs of fusions from a UTAU roleplay I had w a former friend from when I was like 10 til I was 16 and I started thinking about it again and I was like oh yk what I’m gonna draw what the characters always looked like in my head

So essentially me and the friend had fat crushes on multiple diff sanses but we were like oh let’s make them all into one guy so first we have Fatale Noir (but im js gonna call him Fatale) is a fusion between Fell, Ink and Nightmare and he was my friend at the time’s pookie lol, his name was different and he definitely had a different design but uhhh this is just a me thing now rather than two people so I do what I want 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Then the other fusion is my pookie, Bluescreen teehee, he’s a fusion between classic, Horror (I call him Jaws), and Error. Definitely a bit more stable than Fatale is because the sanses who make up Bluescreen are a lot more similar than the ones who make up Fatale, he does get unstable at times cuz of Error.

The designs are determinant on how stable and well they mesh together, Fatale’s design is cluttered because there’s a lot of conflicting personalities and ideas in contrast to Bluescreen who has less conflict within him.

The whole explanation that my friend at the time came up with for the fusion was AUs started merging together and people started merging with anyone who was similar to them either in regards to personality, design or a shared soulmate tehe that’s why Fatale is fused together.

But anyways, story is that Fatale was my sona’s dad and they have a fantastic relationship 🙏🏼🙏🏼 lmaooo and Bluescreen and my sona are married and have two kids

The children woooo! Nayru’s got two because she wears a mask, she’s an alien same as my sona and Farore is an adopted forest god, pretty epic 😎

This is something so incredibly personal to me because it’s from my childhood and my formative years but I’m sooo happy to share it because it’s still something I really love even now at 20 years old, idk I might make a comic based on the old roleplays tehe :P

Mmmmmmmmmm new AU idea based on Dreamtale’s neutral ending.

Tw for death

Nightmare’s gang is doing whatever they do to spread negativity in an au, and the Stars intercept them when they’ve almost finished. Not that it matters much, because during the battle Nightmare says something and Dream snaps. Everyone needs to get back as Dream finally ignores that they’re brothers and fights back for real. The twin’s duel becoming just as destructive as Error is. Going at it with no holding back on either end, Dream gets the advantage and kills Nightmare. The grief hits him as quick as his arrows did, and Dream fused the shattered parts of Nightmare’s soul into his own quickly shattering one. When the dust settles there’s an empty world, with only grass and a small sappling, one surrounded by dust and twin circlets.

With Nightmare and Dream dead, Nightmare’s gang doesn’t really have a reason to keep terrorising aus, meaning the Stars don’t have a reason to stick together (other then friendship because Ink would not abandon his friends). Ink ferries the gang back to Nightmare’s castle and Swap back to Underswap, then goes to tell everyone the news.

Nightmare is dead. The end of his terror is cause to celebrate. But they’re also celebrating Dream’s death, and Ink hates it. How could they celebrate the death of one who wore himself to the bone to help them? He doesn’t enter the omega timeline anymore, switching between hiding with Error in the antivoid and with Swap in Underswap, making sure to stay hidden when he checks on aus. He and Swap team up again to convince Error to leave the abandoned AU alone, as a memorial for the twins.

The gang isn’t doing much better. Sure they have everything they could ever need, Nightmare always was a mother hen, but they don’t have Nightmare and it’s killing them. They have a funeral in the garden, because who else would?

A year after the twin’s death, Ink brings everyone back to the AU at their requests. Someone brings a picket basket, someone brings drinks, and a few of them bring flowers. They have a tense picnic and reminisce. Most, if not all, of the au’s are too busy celebrating to morn, so they can finally morn in peace.

After their picnic they go back to the tree sapling to find it’s gotten bigger, much bigger than a normal tree does in a year. Either Killer or Ink jokes that someone should guard the tree, like Dream and Nightmare did, and Swap thinks that’s a great idea actually.

After some debate, the Stars and the Gang move into the abandoned AU, keeping an eye on the tree while making the world generally inhabitable.

The years pass, the Stars and the Gang become solid friends. They do let a few more people move into the AU, one’s that they agree on and can trust completely with the knowledge that one wrong move towards the tree will get you kicked out.

And the tree grown, towering over houses and other trees alike.

And the tree blooms for the first time, Brilliant Gold and Inky Black fruits hanging from it’s new branches.

And as the base of the tree, they find two baby skeletons.

since stage 4 is just broken determination overload, i imagine it will be able to melt its body parts. like, it doesn't have a face - there's just one massive black hole with broken dt in its place. since it's melting like almagamates (literally it's an amalgamation between killer and chara held by determination), i also think it's impervious to physical attacks - its stats are all jumbled and incomprehensible. i'm not finalized on what the new abilities are, but some ideas i have are:

destructive dt? i guess the broken dt would be hazardous now to the point of just melting everything it comes in contact with.

absorption? since it's almagamate-like, it can fuse with other beings into a bigger pile of goo. imagine sixbones but worse, because only stage 4 is in charge.

infection/corruption? i think it's fitting for it to have some virus abilities, infecting and corrupting codes so as to spite and get over players/creators, and finally destroy timelines. it's like some sort of self-realized malware in a computer, in contrast with error as a self-proclaimed error handling response. (don't sue me, i don't know anything about computer science lmao)

multiversal travel? since it would be necessary for its/chara's goal of destroying worlds. though it would be interesting if it doesn't have that ability and has to rely on some mechanism (like hacking/breaking codes or sth).

Self realized malware sounds like such an interesting route to go for a character, especially in contrast to another character like error. Makes me wonder what error would think about stage 4, going around destroying timelines and basically doing his self appointed (?) job, because that is actually stage 4’s purpose. What it was made for.

I wonder if being able to corrupt codes would make its tasks a lot easier, such as turning characters against others and working on its side to decimate their timelines. And probably killing the corrupted characters before moving on, or potentially assimilating the characters into its form.

I think it’d be interesting if Stage 4 basically has to infiltrate the codes of an au, or a timeline, and maybe it can only start with timelines adjacent or variants of classic undertale, but is able to learn to infiltrate the codes of entirely separate aus with time. Like a program/ai that learns with time.

What that infiltration could look like, im not sure. Perhaps something to do with its determination, playing with the idea that if one is the most determined, they can then decide fate, etc. and it has “determined” this timeline or AU’s fate is to be destroyed.

Or maybe it must infiltrate the codes of a Sans or even a Chara, and potentially be “reborn” through these Sanses/Charas, before assimilating them into its original form after erasing their homes. to go with a more literal idea of “infiltrating.”

I’d imagine it’d have quite a few run ins with ink if it messes with the scripts or aus/timelines. Potentially the rest of the Stars, Core, and perhaps even Nightmare too since destroying timelines and aus means depriving Nightmare of negativity. And of course Color would obviously step in to try and save his friend, potentially alongside the rest of the Epic Sanses.

This version of Stage 4 could definitely fit the Winter Soldier’s theme well i think.

I have two questions about the UTMV Fusion post. I saw the answer about how Ink, Error, Nightmare, and Dream feel about Fusion, but I would like to know:

How does Cross feel when he’s fused or after they fuse?Also, does Nightmare’s gang exist in this? And do they know about Nightmare’s ability?

How does Cross feel when he’s fused / during the soul-fuse ?

Cross, like most in and outcodes was not even aware it was a thing. Ink and Error were the only example before the twins and they figured it out later on.

A very cool person ( @jupiter-on-the-compupiter !! ) had mentioned in the tags that it could be because they’re part of the balance, they represent something important to the multiverse. I snatched that idea because it was just so good..

So, Cross had no darn clue. When it first happened, it was with Dream. ( which is how Star-Cross even came to be ! ) Cross was also Dream’s first time fusing after the incident.

It happened during a fight, Cross was about to get hit in the moment and Dream protected him by the way he knew to : Soul-Fusing.

It was for Cross a very surprising moment, scary at first even. In that moment, Dream was the main consciousness of the fusion’s vessel.

Cross feels odd about the fact fusions are even a thing, but he likes doing it with Dream. He hasn’t tried with the other two/three.

Does Nightmare gang exist in this ? Do they know about Nightmare’s ability ?

They do, actually !!!!

To explain, Nightmare tried to have a soul fusion as soon as he could, to see if he could still use it/be able to with other people.

Except the first person he fused with was his now right hand, Killer.

It went horribly wrong, and the fusion was so unstable due to Killer’s current soul state and Nightmare’s corruption that they defused a few moment after.

As for the other official close members ( Because Nightmare has other lackeys these guys are just his main group ) Dust and Horror don’t really know about it, but they do end up learning it through a fight. Big shock, big surprises.

The Killer and Nightmare fusion has no name as of now, so feel free to propose one ! It’s title is “the Merciless”. It’s under this !

Not gonna lie, we need more GOOD UNDERTALE AU outcodes... ya' know, the guys who go around the multiverse doing stuff with their own specific goals

I mean, we definitely have them, but it's sad that the last "Big" outcode to ever reach a greater audience was this sad mistake of an Error clone.

I mean, I'd highly suggest looking into stuff like Stitchau, Poppy's story, the ALIVE AU and No!sansverse (which is basically a take on the sansverse that de-sansifies the OUTCODE sanses, this sad sack of rooftop swordsman brainrot included), but it's unfortunate this guy gets more publicity than these three... we need more input from the community.

I don't want to insult or spread hate about undertale outcodes, AUs, or what have you; a lot of them were made by people who were genuinely trying to do something interesting- and unfortunately, everyone's favourite character at the time (and still the majority of the fandom's, probably) was Sans, so he always got the most attention. I can't complain a lot about that, considering I myself am also incredibly guilty of favouritism.

What I think is that a lot of what people were doing could be better expressed and made more interesting if different characters were used, and it didn't become a confusing mess of "Wait. Who's from where??" for me, personally. My brain is very small and can only handle so much.

But, along those lines, I'll share my thoughts that went into Ink!Chara and Ink!Asriel, to try and better make a point- the void, or anti-void, whatever it may be, is a neat concept, but I never really understood it myself- so I kind of made my own interpretation of it with my minimal knowledge.

The whole thing behind these two was that it's stated in-game that no one knows what would happen if a human and monster soul fused- so for all we know, the fusion could be incredibly unstable. Perhaps game-breaking. And along the lines of not knowing what would happen, it's even less known what would happen upon defeat- considering that a monster soul cannot persist for long after death (provided said monster is a boss monster), and a human's can persist for God knows how long.

What if this contradiction led to a huge bug in the already unstable game, and in order to save itself from a crash, the game just. Completely drops the souls? Shoves them out of the way to get everything working again once they were no longer active. We know for a fact that both Chara and Asriel (now Flowey's) souls are seemingly gone, so why not do something with that?

Ink!Chara and Ink!Asriel are separate entities from basegame Chara and Flowey, in that they are their souls and only their souls. My point is.

There are so many ways to make these outcodes more interesting (at least to me) just by using different characters and throwing things at the wall. Once again, nothing against the originals; without them I wouldn't even be having these ideas.

This dude would try so fucking hard to get you're attention. Like, he would give you his favorite drawings, take you to outertale to watch the stars, get things you like, etc.

Soon you figure out what was happening and you confronted him.

He emits that he has a crush, and you tell him you return his feelings.

Dude will be so flustered and shit, like he would take you to meet dream and talk to you for hours and you and dream will need to calm him down or sit him down.

When you guys started to date, he would take you on dates almost every time he wasn't fighting error, nightmare, protecting AU, etc.

It got so much you had to sit him down and explain to him that dates shouldn't be a everyday thing and you are happy with just hanging out.

I can see this dude going to different AU's to get food from the papyrus's for dinner.

Most of the time it's spegettie but he tries to get diffrent foods, but let's be real. This dude can't cook, even if his life depends on it.

I can see ink being more protective but also being really chill about you wondering around the AU's.

Like, he trust you that you won't cheat, he will give you a phone he can track just incase you get abducted by error, nightmare, horror, Dust, etc.

He just wants you to be safe.

Ok, first things first, ink has no fucking idea what to do.

He has seen porn and seen it from other AU's so he sees what to do but dosent know what to do.

The official character designs of my Sans AU AI_”Sans” I’ve been working on this for months and I decided to finally post about him so here he is early! There will be a comic about him eventually! In this Ink will go up against him and team up with Error to put a stop to him before he infects the multiverse!

These are the basics of his character-

(If I’m referring to the character the name will be in bold and if I’m talking about actual AI it will be normal text)

He is not a Sans! He was just made to look like one and since AI doesn’t understand anatomy, his body is all wonky and disfigured. Broken, with joints in the wrong places, he also isn’t a skeleton, along with that his body and clothes are fused together. Think of Frankenstein’s monster- he had no say in his creation but must live with the consequences.

He is based off of the AI art crisis and how it can hurt real artist’s lively-hoods. While AI can be helpful (which will be revealed about his character later on) AI has just enough potential to harm original creators and put artist’s jobs in jeopardy by leeching off of their work. While AI’s attempts to “recreate”what it inherently means to be human- always seem to be lifeless and lack the spark that makes the arts uniquely human.

AI (or AI_Sans) is a virus that was uploaded to the undertale multiverse that targets original characters and AUs. The virus itself takes codes from these AUs and spits out lifeless nonsense copies of them at a super unhealthy rate- and will keep going until it successfully overloads the capacity of the multiverse. These AI generated copies of AUs appearing as fake versions of themselves and giving off the “uncanny valley” effect.

He would totally be friends with Fresh

AI’s motive is that he hates his creation and is incredibly jealous of other worlds in which creators put love and thought into. He despises how those he is surrounded by those who were nurtured and cared for, unlike him. He craves to make them feel how he feels- “an abomination to life” (Error’s words)

He has no past no future, he was simply made to be an imitation of a beloved character. He is not his own person (yet). Which he will work through discovering who he could be in the comic.

Though it’s in his nature to corrupt everything he can get his deformed hands on but that doesn’t directly reflect him as a character, he can definitely overcome his conflicts with what he was made for eventually.

Just putting it out there right now. He is not inherently evil and will have a redemption arc of sorts after Ink and Error help him. He will become good eventually.

The current title of the comic will be “Ink and the AI Assault” but that may or may not change. I will be working on this a lot more during the summer but I have drafts of the first couple pages (which I may or may not post some doodles of that I like)

Bro I been thinking about this AU for a while, what if Error and Vox just became friends?

Like Error was running away from ink after one of their battles and landed in hazbinverse?

And Met Vox right after he’s and Alastor fall out of their friendship??

Error not knowing much about hell and such decided to stay with Vox so he can have time to learn, Vox wanting company and someone to look after, let error stay at his house, thinking his a new sinner with potential.

slowly they started bonding over they’re shared loneliness and hatred, making a strong friendship!

Error still destroy AU’s and ‘anomalies’ just when Vox busy or is having business meeting, but the star council is catching to what’s he’s doing.

so Error told Vox that he need to leave forever, which promptly makes Vox freak out (Alastor want missing for a year by now) But Error call him down and comes up with a idea to always stay in contact with one other!

At first Vox was confused but as Error want into more details the realization hit him hard, basically Error is suggesting to fuse their soul together.

Vox is obviously distraught, his friend who been with him BEFORE Valentino, is asking to fuse their soul together FOREVER.

Vox told Error to give him a week to think about it and Error is like “Vox I don’t think we got a week to figure this out, but I give till tomorrow”

Vox thinks long hard about it (not really he just freaking out over the implications) and says yes to Error’s idea.

AND BOOM now they’re fuse together.

Error still separate from Vox but Vox is the one that’s holding their soul. Or: Error now is technically souless (no soul in the body) while Vox is holding two souls (Error can still pain and emotions but he shares it with Vox and vice versa)

Error will continue destroying AU’s and things but stay in the anti Void for longer times to talk to Vox (they can talk to each other telepathically, and Vox use these holograms that only Error and Vox see to talk to each other)
