By consistently tracking and analyzing these important measurements and KPIs, businesses can gain useful insights into how well their digital marketing efforts are working and make data-driven decisions to enhance their outcomes.

cc!donnie calls himself stupid so much, does he actually think hes stupid? :(
yes and no? he doubts his own expertise with how much it's been called into question, and he is uncomfortably aware of his lack of social abilities and such, but rationally he knows he is like. objectively more book-smart than the average person. he did 100% mean it at the end of caged lungs when he told april he wouldnt be any good at helping her with coding, though. he was just too far gone at that point, and that stems from the whole situation with fixing leo's phone. later he just knows he has performance anxiety and cant be watched while he works.
in most cases its better to see it as, like... a programmed, conditioned response. it's something he says for not knowing things. it's people-pleasing, especially towards his brothers. he puts himself down to prop them up, to remind them that he knows what he thinks his place is-- mostly to prevent them from having to remind him. especially as he grapples with trauma, he gets upset with himself for freaking out and losing control of himself. he knows it's not stupidity, but someone has to call him that so he doesn't get too big a head, or get too confident.
sometimes he'll say it and mean it, but most of the time cc!donnie going "i'm so stupid" is the same as him saying "i'm sorry." it's his way of saying he knew he was bad when he thinks an apology wont work. it gets to the root of what he thinks the problem is-- that there is something inherently wrong with him, and he deserves to be treated like he's lesser because of it.
Tumblr media
probably the best example of this ^^^ it's people-pleasing all the way down. he doesn't know what to say, he thinks an apology wont work, and he's scared. he was pushed to verbally degrade himself before while cursed, so it's what he turns to when he wants to make them feel better. sometimes it'll come off as guilt-tripping the way he immediately rushes to blame and degrade himself when they're upset, even in things he doesn't have a hand in, but in CL they beat him into that habit.
their counter now is usually "you're scared"/"you didn't know better", and donnie does try to internalize that, but sometimes it doesn't get to the root of the problem that donnie's refusing to express. sometimes he knows that he's not an idiot and that he cant help being afraid. what he's actually trying to say is that it's okay for them to abuse him. in a roundabout way, he's asking.

Had a dream last night that human souls and Angels were both made from stardust. So the reason Angels can only use certain vessels was because, at the beginning of creation (i.e the big bang), the humans soul was made from the same stardust as the Angel. The human soul imbues their cells with that stardust, which makes the body a habitable vessel for the Angel because it is, on an atomic level, made from that Angel. which imo fucks harder than anything in canon.

spent sooo long testing renpy codes. i can now do such impressive feats as "have a character respond differently based on how nice you were to them" and "have the player character say slightly different dialogue based on previous player choices". riveting..

You know what fantasy stories don't use enough? Different measuring scales, and confusion caused by them. Because before the metric system, practically every place and culture had their own measures for weights, lengths and distances. It would be fun to add that into a story for added realistic cultural confusion.
The average dwarf is four or five feet tall, but not in human measures. Yeah they're still shorter than humans but the dwarf foot (and the namesake measure of length) is bigger in proportion to their body. "Is that in dwarf feet or human feet?" is a common question to hear on construction sites, wherever human carpenters and dwarf masons are working together.
A dedicated local Common Misconception Historian has a pet peeve about the whole "princess Featherblade was only 12 years old when she led the attack on Marshland Halls" -myth, because the historical recordings on the human side are off. While she was remarkably young, that myth came about back in the day when humans were still trying to apply "dog years" to elves, and in an elven life span, 120 years is not a direct equivalent to a 12-year-old human.
A whole culture whose smallest unit of weight loosely translates to "about as much as an apple", and varies from region to region depending on the size of local apples. These people are famed for their alchemists, whose uncanny ability to simply measure their ingredients by heart, making their recipes essentially impossible to replicate. This famed skill is a matter of survivor bias - the ones that don't have that knack ten to explode into fine mist.

For some people, that humanity gets trained out of them. For others, the threat of punishment suppresses it. To keep bosses happy, Tenumah explained, agents develop tricks. If your average handle time is creeping up, hanging up on someone can bring it back down. If you’ve escalated too many times that day, you might “accidentally” transfer a caller back into the queue. Choices higher up the chain also add helpful friction, Tenumah said: Not hiring enough agents leads to longer wait times, which in turn weeds out a percentage of callers. Choosing cheaper telecom carriers leads to poor connection with offshore contact centers; many of the calls disconnect on their own. “No one says, ‘Let’s do bad service,’” Tenumah told me. “Instead they talk about things like credit percentages”—the number of refunds, rebates, or payouts extended to customers. “My boss would say, ‘We spent a million dollars in credits last month. That needs to come down to 750.’ That number becomes an edict, makes its way down to the agents answering the phones. You just start thinking about what levers you have.” “Does anyone tell them to pull those levers?” I asked.
“The brilliance of the system is that they don’t have to say it out loud,” Tenumah said. “It’s built into the incentive structure.” That structure, he said, can be traced to a shift in how companies operate. There was a time when the happiness of existing customers was a sacred metric. CEOs saw the long arc of loyalty as essential to a company’s success. That arc has snapped. Everyone still claims to value customer service, but as the average CEO tenure has shortened, executives have become more focused on delivering quick returns to shareholders and investors. This means prioritizing growth over the satisfaction of customers already on board.

Today I just found out that the woman who's been the most supportive of me in my transition believes that trans women shouldn't be able to compete against cis women in sports. Do you happen to have any good peer reviewed resources on the effects of estrogenizing HRT on someone's athletic abilities. Said woman in question doesn't seem to believe there's been any research done, which I deeply doubt. Thank you so much for your continued advocacy for us transfems.
I know you're turning to me for scientific guidance, but I'm just so fucking done with this issue overall. To quote contrapoints: I have nothing left but rage.
I've been on this road before. I could give you some. In most ways, trans women match cis women of their height and weight. But there aren't a lot. Yeah, its a problem. But fucking NOBODY will even study it because of how hot this issue is right now.
But more importantly: There will never, EVER be a study that meets their standards. There's always SOME physical metric that has differences between trans women and cis women. It's become essentially an iteration of the multiple testing problem- if you keep on doing statistical tests, eventually something is going to land.
I don't fucking want to provide studies. I don't want to cut myself down. I don't want my defense of myself to be "oohhh look at me I'm just as weak and pathetic and infantile as cis women"
Is this fucking feminism? Really?
I'm fucking done. Call me the evil hysterical woman, but this entire conversation reeks of misogyny to its fucking core. Organized sports as we know them are made by men, for men, to celebrate male accomplishments and excellence. Cis women can and do equal or excel men in many, MANY physical metrics. But the arbitrary set of rules, the arbitrary set of bouncing balls and scoring systems, are all made to reward the physical abilities of men. We create spin offs and systems of score tracking and variations of the same things over, and over, and over again, to give the fragile little male ego more and more reasons to stroke itself.
Let's take a look at some whiny as piss men not being able to handle the thought that women could EVER be physically notable.
Olympic target shooting used to be mixed gender. A woman won one year. The next year, it was segregated. Not only was it segregated, but the scoring system changed so that the scores of men and women could never be directly compared again.
Last year, Donald Trump sat on stage with Riley Gaines, the transphobic swimmer who whipped up the vitriol about Lia Thomas, and bragged about how it wasn't fair she lost her competition because he, Donald Trump, a 78 year old out of shape wax sculpture of a man, was male. And that he could beat Riley. A trained D1 swimmer. And Riley took it, because it advanced her grift.
There's a now infamous poll that 1 in 8 men think they could beat Serena Williams in a tennis match. Its pretty old at this point, but I'm guessing that number is even higher now.
This entire conversation centers around "trans people crushing the dreams of female athletes" but oh my fucking god, are we not doing that as a society already? This entire fucking "debate" is just an excuse for more and more cis men to sit their, stroking their fucking egos on live television about how big and strong and powerful and fucking WHATEVER men are, and even the trace of maleness in trans women is enough to permanently make them some kind of ubermensch that destroys cis women by every metric imagineable.
I don't give two shits about saving sports, one way or another. I detested organized sports long before I transitioned. Ya wanna talk natural advantage, and how sports rewards exactly the kind of physical ability that a certain brand of cis man pushes themselves to? I have a very mild ankle deformity that means jogging for long periods of time is painful. My best mile time is over 11 minutes. And yet I don't see any of the fuckers that are "better" than me out there in the ocean, clinging to the bottom on a single breath for minutes, or up there with me on top of Whitney. Only one of those skills is celebrated.
Fuck me that was a tangent. My point is, I've long since realized that sports are a self propagating system for the egos of people with a very particular kind of physical prowess. The only exception to this is when its exploitative of people with that kind of extremely specific physical prowess, and leaves those it exploits in the fucking gutter. I don't need to start bringing up CTE, I know y'all know exactly what my take would be on that.
but what is sending me over the fucking edge is how I'm supposed to be the crazy one. I'm the delusional tranny for pointing out that we have lost the fucking plot entirely. This is recreation. Its entertainment. And we are using it to punish people. Fuck this.
I'm so sorry OP, but just don't engage in that game. If you need a calm, measured argument, try attacking the misogyny of it all. The only way to "fix" sports is to create more events that reward and celebrate the physical abilities of cis women: flexibility, extreme long term endurance, and fuck I'm not a sports person nor do I want to waste brainspace on more than that. We need a system for cis women, one that doesn't tell them "here, have this shittier, less viewed, less supported, less encouraged, less celebrated version of something a man is good at". Trans people would find some place in that and in theory, there would be nothing to complain about.
Jesus fucking christ, if I see one more male news pundit start talking about trans women in sports I'm going to straight up devolve into a misandrist.

It's really not surprising that @netflix is losing a LOT of money this week. Within the span of just a couple of weeks, they:
Ended one of their most beloved shows (TUA) in what was literally one of the worst conclusions ever written
Announced a homophobic version of Dorian Gray where Basil and Dorian were brothers
Canceled a critically acclaimed new show (DBDA) after one season despite its large, dedicated fanbase after failing to market that show
Implemented ads on Netflix plans that did not previously have them, essentially serving as a price increase for a lot of people
Tumblr media
This is a genuinely insane metric to see, especially for a company as large as @netflix. Honestly, it's super embarrassing, but a natural product of their recent behaviour.

And that's where both readers and authors should be looking: towards mending those community ties, however we can. Maybe that means giving up useless number-chasing if communities can't survive past a certain scale. We could choose to focus on the slow work of developing relationships and trust, creating smaller but more sustainable groups of people who can support one another. Even now, within the hostile infrastructure of the modern internet, I think these things are still just barely possible.
Alright, so: I want to explain a little more about this connection between the Twilight fandom, Fifty Shades of Grey, and seemingly, the self-publishing industry as a whole. It's a lot, so I'm going to have to chip away at it a bit at a time, and I think the best place to start is by describing the scene in late 2000s Twilight fandom.
In 2009, Twilight was one of the biggest fandoms in the world, although it was nearly invisible to outsiders because it
Was about a straight couple, while most other fandoms were predominantly gay, and
Was conducted almost entirely on fanfiction.net among a group of people who had little other background in fandom. (x)
That meant for many Twilight fans, Twilight was fandom. It was all they knew, and many had no path out. That also made it a corked champagne bottle with the pressure building.
Because of these community dynamics and the declining quality of the Twilight books themselves, Twilight fanfiction evolved to be mostly AUs so alternate they were more-or-less original romance novels that used Bella and Edward as broad character templates. (x)
Seriously, Twilight fandom got really crazy big for a few years there. It was not totally uncommon to get multi-million clicks on a semi-popular story. It's weird looking back on it and calling it "Twilight fandom" because it was really more like "Romance Novel fandom". For real, for a period there, calling a Twilight fanfic author a 'Twilight fan' would be the ultimate insult. But they never stopped writing about Edward and Bella! It's so weird. (x)
If you were in 2000s era fandom, you're probably aware of the phenomenon of Big Name Fans and the various social-climbing dynamics that happened around them. The Twilight fandom took this social power game another level:
This wasn't even just an author thing. There were Big Name Authors (BNAs) but there were also Big Name Readers. These were basically like... full-time rabid fans of a BNA. They devoted so much of their time to helping out the BNAs, reviewing their chapters, making them fanart, promoting their fics, kissing their asses with cringe-worthy intensity, you name it. Which is why you saw what looked like BNAs having 'employees', such as Moi, tby789's Director of Marketing. (x)
It became apparent that these power games weren't just for fandom clout. The fandom was proving that that social power could be translated into real-world dollars. You see, the Twilight fandom used to organize charity auctions where big name authors would auction off custom fanfiction, and the money generated was substantial:
Mostly authors would auction off stories. So if you donated in my name, I'd write you 10,000 words of porn in my Tattward universe, or something new, etc. That's how it worked. The 2009 auction raised $80,000. The 2010 auction raised $140,000. The 2011 auction raised $20,00. [NOTE: this is likely a typo] (x)
A lot of these dynamics were not unique to the Twilight fandom, but it was the combination that created a perfect storm of opportunism. This would end up changing not just fandom dynamics but the publishing industry as a whole.
#super interesting read and love the closing point#i am delirious with fever rn so apologies for the rambling#but i love how neatly this conjoins my dismay with comparative metrics in fandom to the fast fiction culture just outside of it lol#as well as lifts up the purposefully anti-networking pro-friendship mindset i so annoyingly and constantly espouse lol#i hate how ai entering the equation makes this disconnect between author and the craft even more pronounced#i think we are at a crossroads as implied for that very reason#i will always love a trend because they are fun to explore and discuss with other people#but i think the point that we should intentionally cultivate our craft and focus on slow fiction#as well as develop friendships and meaningful connections over the idea of “fans” and “notes” is so essential#i have more thoughts on this that i will try to put into words sometime#but the main point i want to make is that fandom has been for many decades a distinctly anticapitalist and somewhat countercultural space#and to survive i think we need to as a collective actively resist the shift towards capitalist mindsets!!#specifically i want to combat “quantity over quality” perspectives and the pressure to constantly churn out content#as well as networking & transactionalism and the need to sanitize fan content to align with industry ideas of acceptability#i am not making any sense i can tell so i will circle back to this when my brain is not scrampled egg#really liked this read though and love the conversation it is starting

while on the topic of romanticisation/fetishisation of abuse and its depictions in art and the cultural landscape at large, i do think it's worth mentioning that victimhood being often used as this metric of validity by way of experience - essentially "you must be This traumatised to ride" - and the resulting push for tighter restrictions on who is allowed to create and interact with these depictions of abusive behaviour ultimately only serves to deny victims the language with which to articulate their experiences and hand more power to those who inflict the abuse. you are never not going to get art that explores abuse that doesn’t resonate with you; that makes you feel uncomfortable and perhaps even offended, unless you eliminate it entirely, and it is arrogance to believe that you will always be able to tell the difference between art that uncritically "fetishises" abuse and that which depicts a victim's lived experiences, as well as a potentially invasive demand for relitigation of the trauma someone endured in order to justify their work. that's why we have critical theory and discourse - to discuss the relative merits and failures of any work of art, and communicate our subjective experiences of it with one another. also, while it very much isn't praxis, i honestly could not give less of a shit if someone's introduction to the language that enabled them to articulate their experiences, and/or understand and communicate with me about mine, was a result of their involvement in like. fucking voltron paladin shipping discourse or black butler yaoi.

Your future spouse and relationship themes according to Venus/Descendant/Ruler of the 7th
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aries Venus/1H; Aries Descendant; 7th House Ruler in the 1H
Someone athletic and fast. Your Future Spouse would be short-tempered and very passionate. Somebody that would openly chase after you. Very open and straightforward. Could have a taste for challenging you just to see whether you can keep up. Someone with many previous, short-lived relationships. They love to take the lead and look like someone you wouldn’t wanna fight.
They (or you) could have some issues with commitment, so the relationship may be on and off. You both could live for the excitement of it. Aries being fiery, the passions may burn and die out instantly. The ideal spouse is one that can capture both the fast pace and the loyalty. Aries likes to fight for what they’ve acquired, but even more for what they don’t have yet. So essentially you’re going to be playing catch me if you can for a big part of the relationship, but underneath the game is burning, passionate, serious love.
Taurus/2H Venus; Taurus Descendant; 7th House Ruler in the 2H
A class act. Somebody so good looking you want to eat them up. Flawless skin and beautiful, pouty lips. Wavy or curly hair. They probably love to be kissed on the neck. Someone with a distinctive, beautiful voice. Good manners and well-educated. Somebody discerning, who really values high quality. Maybe a successful business owner, good with money. An art lover. On the downside, could be too materialistic. Will be very possessive about you.
Taking turns spoiling each other as a love language. Attending luxurious, expensive dinner parties. Acquiring rich, influential friendships together. Loyal till the end. Overspending and overindulging. A possible danger here is focusing too much on the physical and not enough on the emotional bond. Thinking everything can be fixed with money. However, those are really dignified placement, hence the love life is overall harmonious (in not debilitated).
Gemini/3H Venus; Gemini Descendant; 7th House Ruler in the 3H
Brainy and witty. Likely younger than you (either metrically or by spirit). Loves writing and good with words. Someone with curious, cat-like eyes and a youthful smile. Beautiful hands and fingers. Siblings playing a big role in said persons’ life; they may talk about them frequently. Could be interested in cars. There’s some duality to this person. Like they could be really playful and jovial, but also contain a different, deeper and more mysterious persona, which they bare only at times.
Each day with them is a never ending intellectual chase. Creating an own language together, giving words new meaning only known to you two. Doing crosswords and playing Scrabble together during cosy rainy days. Sharing a genuine friendship. Talking about everything and anything you see. Finding extraordinary in the mundane.
Tumblr media
Cancer/4H Venus; Cancer Descendant; 7th House Ruler in the 4H
Your Future Spouse would be very caring and protective, reminding you of motherly love. They will be desperate to make themselves a necessity to your well-being. They will take pleasure in home-making: baking, cooking, beautifying the house. Doing these things for you is how they’ll show love. They would try really hard to gain your trust and make you feel emotionally and physically comfortable with them. Physically they could have a rounder build, beautiful breasts and overall a soft look. Deep, inviting and big eyes.
You could move in together very quickly. Home is wherever I’m with you. Adopting a pet together, them getting you a puppy as a surprise. Crying because you make them so happy. Always carefully listening to each other, mindful about their wants and needs. They would be up-front about wanting kids with you since the very beginning. They could be someone from your childhood.
Leo/5H Venus; Leo Descendant; 7th House Ruler in the 5H
Your Future Spouse would be someone striving for fame. And it doesn’t have to be world-wide fame — even within friendships this person is someone who loves when the attention is on them. I’m talking Mr. Peanutbutter from Bojack Horseman. Someone with charisma, that is universally loved and has a lot of friends and acquaintances. They can talk to and charm almost anyone. Someone who loves acting. Very open and magnetic — everyone want to be a part of their world. They could have beautiful, thick hair — like a lion’s mane. They’ll love surprising you frequently.
Your relationship could bring up the urge to have children together or to generally-speaking act like your inner child with them. There could be a lot of playful banter between you, that turns into passionate kissing. Everybody and their mom is able to tell that you love each other. Could act like high school sweethearts that everyone envies. Going out on lots of dates, making them your sun.
Virgo/6H Venus; Virgo Descendant; 7th House Ruler in the 6H
They’re likely very particular and perfectionists, but when it comes to you they will happily accept each and every flaw. Someone that is already focused on making themself better for you. Someone that is very precise and dresses impeccably. Maybe they wear glasses. Their skin is perfect and overall they’re well-groomed. The kind of person showing up with a hairdo, fresh manicure and neatly pressed clothes, saying that they’ve just gotten out of bed lol. They could work in healthcare and be very organised.
Your relationship would likely be structured around service and helping each other. What they cannot understand about you, they will make up by baking your favourite cookies. Maybe they’re not very outspoken, but they observe and listen carefully, and try to then embody your ideal. You can clearly see the potential in them and do everything to achieve it. They probably have a close bond to animals.
Tumblr media
Libra/7H Venus; Libra Descendant; 7th House Ruler in the 7H
Your Future Spouse is one of a graceful and delicate beauty. They’re extremely charming, so much so that it is intimidating! They’re very well-spoken and someone that spreads the aura of calmness and balance. They would instantly make you think that they’re the perfect addition to your life. They are outstandingly beautiful, but also modest and balanced. They might work in law or the arts.
The relationship between you could become the most important in your life. You two will be very devoted to creating a healthy bond. The relationship essentially serves its purpose as a mirror — you see your victories, shortcomings and flaws through the lens of the spouse. It is a good thing as that’s the role partnerships are supposed to play. You’re destined to become more balanced, learn the art of teamwork and compromise. You could have a feeling that they’re bringing out the best in you.
Scorpio/8H Venus; Scorpio Descendant; 7th House Ruler in the 8H
There will be a darkness about them, a darkness that draws you in. Your Person would have dark, thick hair, dark eyes or dark circles. They won’t reveal all of their cards at first, so you won’t recognise the purpose of the relationship for some time. You could be interested in someone else (not committed, though), but you risk your all as they walk in. They could be someone who has just left a marriage or a long-term relationship.
They could introduce you to higher society (or vice versa). A class difference between you. Some kind of taboo being broken by your relationship. They could sacrifice a lot for you. Power couple. Your friends are weary of this person. No one really knows what’s going on between you. A financial imbalance. They let you indulge in their fortune (or once again, vice versa). If it’s the 7H Ruler it’s likely you that gives them money. They could be someone with a big inheritance. They open you up like no one had managed to before.
Sagittarius/9H Venus; Sagittarius Descendant; 7th House Ruler in the 9H
Someone studying or working at a university when you meet. Someone for whom higher education is very important. Very passionate about their studies, devoted to many topics and teaching you about them. Somebody with a true lust for life. They could look up to you like a guru (or vice versa). Someone with distinctive legs — maybe impressively toned, long, or with thick thighs (😋).
A relationship that could connect you to the divine and open you up spiritually. They would introduce you to different philosophical beliefs. There’s a prominent educational value to this relationship, you both are forced to learn a lot through it. You could move out to another country together — or one of you could do it for the other. Could be long distance for some time. Lots of travelling and feeling very lucky 🍀 .

Capricorn/10H Venus; Capricorn Descendant; 7th House Ruler in the 10H
A very hard working person, may come from a famous, household-name family. Elegant and sleek. High cheekbones and impressive physique. Could be reminding of a father figure in some way (sensible, responsible etc.). Could be older than you. A MILF or a DILF. You could’ve heard about them beforehand. Someone you want to impress and they force you to work at it. True pragmatics, also when it comes to love.
A relationship that resembles a job, you could work for them in some sense — maybe literally, they employ you, or helping them around the house, cleaning etc. A relationship like a well-structured enterprise. They love to show you off and vice versa. You could achieve your long-term goals through them. Their gifts are generous, but rather practical than lavish (e.g. a car or a house). Them or you could’ve found happiness together only later in life. You could be forced to fight through some obstacles to make your union happen.
Aquarius/11H Venus; Aquarius Descendant; 7th House Ruler in the 11H
When you meet this person, you’ll think to yourself, I’ve never seen anyone like this. There is something very authentic and organic about them, that you won’t be able to find in anyone else. Maybe you won’t be even able to name it. They’ll have this electric look (and you’ll know, once you find them) that reveals something to you, invites you in. They just seem aware, you know? Like they’re able to see beyond. Physically, they’ll likely be tall and have a long, alien-like face. Striking eyes and hair that seems to have been struck by electricity. They could look completely different than their family. They’re probably interested in humanitarian causes and take a firm political stance on many issues.
The relationship will be, of course, somewhat unconventional. You could even live separately or choose not to get married, but it will suit you. It will be filled with friends and trying new things together. It will give you both just enough space to feel love, and explore yourselves.
Pisces/12H Venus; Pisces Descendant; 7th House Ruler in the 12H
You future person is ethereal and otherworldly. Very kind and compassionate, high emotional intelligence. They’ll be highly successful in artistic fields, as well as fields that are focused on helping others, like medicine. A dreamer who believes in a higher good. Somebody that would never walk on by if they see someone suffering. Doe, deer eyes with long lashes and a beautiful nose. Could also have pretty feet and even have a thing for them.
The relationship is almost happening in another realm. Many conversations are being had through the eyes. Everything is very intuitive and gentle. There is a prominent sacrifice element here, with you serving them or vice versa. Themes like moving abroad for them or supporting their career full-time are frequent with this placement. Also overlooking the other’s faults, in extreme cases it would be even staying with someone despite an active addiction going on, desperate to save them.
